How God Turns Vulnerability Into Victory | Jonathan Evans

Transcript

So he killed the Egyptians while saving the people. It's all about the Holy Ghost because the Holy Ghost leads you, protects you, guides you, comforts you, illuminates for you. He intercedes for you, and he helps you live this life called the wilderness. When you get saved, God will put you in vulnerable places >> because he wants to introduce you to his spirit.

((music playing)) ((applause)) It's important that you know that the Lord is holy. ((music playing)) >> Uh the reason why it's important that we know and celebrate that he's holy is because you and I aren't. So Jesus Christ 33 years were about perfect holiness. His 33 years were about satisfying the law. The Ten Commandments and 16 1613 statutes and ordinance were not forgotten just because the Hebrew people couldn't do it.

It still was the requirement. Jesus Christ came and fulfilled the law. He said, "I did not come to abolish the law. I came to fulfill the law." Then after fulfilling the law, Christ died as if he didn't. >> The wages of sin is death, >> not the wages of perfection.

So he died and took what belongs to you. >> He only did it as a favor to you. Because you are worthy of death even though he is not. >> I don't know how many of you know lenders that will then pay off what you owe them. His holiness is what's required of you and I that we couldn't accomplish.

He accomplished it for you. No one will go before the Lord and be able to say, "I did it." But through Christ, you'll be able to go before the Lord and say, "He did it and I have Christ." ((applause)) ((music playing)) He took death as if he lived your life >> and he gave you life as if you lived his life. >> It's called substitutionary atonement. >> Where he became your substitute living holiness and dying like he was you.

Then he rose from the grave to let you know that anyone who believes in me will live even if you die. This is the gospel of Jesus Christ. My hope is that no one in this room or online dies unrighteously because if you die unholy which means you have not accepted accepted the substitute who is holy that means that God must judge you as a criminal.

Every judge I'm giving the gospel now. Every judge must judge righteously based on the law. If any criminal comes into a courtroom and the judge does not hand out what the law requires, you and I would say that that judge is unjust. But because God is just, the Bible says he judges justly.

So if you die in your sins, you can't say he's not a good God because he judges correctly. ((music playing)) >> What he's done as a good God is given you the greatest plea deal on the planet >> through his son Jesus Christ. And he gives you the option to choose Jesus so that his righteousness can be credited to your unrighteous account.

So that when you die, you go before the Lord and he says, "Now you get to live because you have the righteousness of Christ in you and your sins have been washed clean by the blood." The Bible says, "I do not nullify the grace of God. If righteousness can come through works of the law, then Christ died needlessly.

He did not die so that you can find another plea deal. >> There's only one plea deal >> and it is the man Christ Jesus. >> So for those of you who don't know if you've ever accepted Jesus Christ, I'm going to offer that to you before the message ((applause)) because the spirit of God has put it on me now.

So, we going to do this. Now, if you don't know that you know that you know that you've ever accepted Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins, that means you're taking a risk to die as a criminal, >> which means he must judge you. >> But now, he's giving you the option by explaining the gospel of Jesus Christ to you so that you accept Jesus Christ.

Therefore, you get washed clean and have the righteousness of Christ in you so that when he sees you, he can grant you life, not by your work, but by Christ's work. Who is the one who satisfied the law? So, if you've never accepted Christ, I want to give you the opportunity to do that now. >> That's why we're here.

If you don't know that, you know that you know online >> that you've asked Jesus to wash you clean and place your trust in him for the forgiveness of sins, then what I'm going to do right now is I'm going to pray with you and I want you to repeat after me.

The words don't save. It is your confession, your faith in Jesus alone. He is the only one who saves. I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one gets to the father except through me. >> And so, right now, we're going to bow our heads and we're going to pray a prayer of salvation.

If you're already saved, pray it anyway to be a kingdom community with those who aren't. >> And we're going to take the plea deal now. >> Here we go. Lord Jesus, I'm a sinner. Jesus, I'm a s >> and I'm in need of a savior. I believe that you are that savior. >> I believe that you are that >> the only one. >> I'm placing my faith in you. >> My faith in you. >> I'm turning my life into you. >> I believe that you lived a perfect life. >> That you died a sinner's death. >> And you rose from the grave. >> For me >> save me, Jesus. >> Save me, Jesus.

Wash me clean. >> Wash me clean. >> By your blood >> by your blood. >> And today >> I claim >> I claim >> the victory. >> In Jesus' name. >> All God's people said, >> "Amen." I believe someone accepted Christ. I believe someone gave their life to Christ.

((music playing)) And now we're going to stand and read about how to live after that. >> We're going to go to Exodus 14. If you're in your living room, stand up and grab the Bible. >> Exodus 14. I'm going to read verse 10 and then I'm going to skip and read verse 21 and 22.

Exodus 14 starting at verse 10 and then I'm going to skip you to 21 and 22. Verse 10 says this. As Pharaoh drew near, the sons of Israel looked and behold the Egyptians were marching after them and they become very frightened. So the sons of Israel cried out to the Lord.

Verse 21. Then Moses stretched out his hands over the sea. And the Lord swept the sea back by a strong east wind all night and turned the sea into dry land. So the waters were divided. The sons of Israel went through in the midst of the sea on dry land, and the waters were like a wall to them on their right and on their left.

Today I want to talk to you from the title. It's a nailbiter. It's a nailbiter. You may be seated. If you don't know what a nailbiter is, go back and watch the Cowboys game last Sunday cuz we was all in there at home or in the stadium nervous because we didn't know how in the world it would be possible to get the victory.

If you watch the game, you know what happened. If you didn't, let me tell you, we were down by three with a few seconds left. We were on our side of the field, which means that we were not close to scoring. For those of you who don't watch or know football, we were on our side of the field going to their side of the field cuz you score on their their side.

We were on our side with only a few seconds left. That means there's kind of no way for you to be able to win the game. But the Cowboys have a kicker. >> And this kicker came out onto the field to attempt a 64yd field goal, which is basically unheard of.

He's on the wrong side of the field to kick the ball that far. But he is an exs soccer player, so he got a different type of foot. You can imagine now that the NFL will start looking at soccer players. Because when the ball is snapped from the wrong side of the field, he kicked the ball and he split the upright and still had 10 yards left in the kick.

This gave the whole stadium a different level of praise because they went from a nailbiter of no hope to suddenly having hope because the goalpost got split. >> Then they went to overtime and it was another nailbiter. >> But that same kicker came out from 40 yards and he split it again giving the Cowboys the victory.

Somebody say >> amen. >> Okay. >> Cuz once that thing went through, I they jumped up in the stadium. I jumped up from my couch >> almost as if I was a part of the team >> because I was able to celebrate at a whole another level. See, when you already know you going to win, you just kind of leave the stadium and say, "We won." >> But when you didn't expect to win, Okay, >> maybe y'all don't get it. >> When you've been in a nailbiting situation >> and God makes a way out of nowhere, >> that changes your level of praise.

See, I believe your praise and your worship is tied to the amount of hell God has brought you through. So if your praise light, your experience is light. Like like they go together. And so the people of Israel were in a nailbiter. Pharaoh was coming and the sea was in front of them.

There was nowhere to go. And God split the sea. >> Can you imagine God splitting the sea and them walking through to the other side? In Exodus 15, there is a song of Moses in Israel. I bet there is. >> Now they singing songs because they experience God coming through when they thought that there was no way.

When God comes through, it changes how you think about Luke 137 that says nothing is impossible with God. When God comes through, it changes. You don't just know Psalm 30:5. Now you experience. Weeping may endure for a night, but I know that joy comes in the morning. Like when you understand and have experienced a true nailbiter, you understand Isaiah 54:17 when it says, "No weapon >> formed against me."

In other words, your confidence goes up >> to a whole another level even though you have already known the word. >> We know he's able to do exceedingly abundantly beyond. That's a nice verse. But when you experience a nailbiter, It changes how you say when when the bill got paid and you have no idea how. >> When the call comes that you weren't expecting, but it promoted you.

Yeah. When a door got open that was closed in front of you. When a diagnosis changed. When you next time you went to the doctor and you weren't expecting him to say, "We don't see it anymore." When God just suddenly makes a way, it changes how you view Job 47:5.

I heard about you by the hearing of the ear. But now I have seen you for myself. >> That that's what a a nailbiter does to you. >> And that's why sometimes we experience these nailbiting situations in our life because God wants to give you a real experience of who he is to take your life of worship and your praise to a whole another level. to take your witness to a whole another level.

But now I need to tell you how they got there. >> In verse one of chapter 14, it reads thusly. Now the Lord spoke to Moses saying, "Tell the sons of Israel to turn back and camp before and between." Y'all know you can't read all the words like the Bible the words, you know.

That's why I listen to it. Just go. ((applause)) I struggled with that. I just moved past that. There was a place over there. I want you to camp between Mdul and the sea. And you shall camp in front of Belffean. Got that one? Opposite it by the sea. >> Okay.

The Lord spoke to Moses and told the people, "Oh yeah, wait. Wait a minute. Turn back >> and I want you to camp right here between Mdo and the sea." Now, why would the Lord tell me to leave something then pause me to camp >> and put me in a position between a rock and a hard place?

Like, like it was his decision >> to put me in this place. Well, verse three tells you why he did it. Verse three says, "For Pharaoh will say to the sons of Israel, they are wandering aimlessly in the land. The wilderness has shut them in." Verse four. Thus I will harden Pharaoh's heart and he will chase after them and I will be honored through Pharaoh and all of his army and the Egyptians will know that I am the Lord. >> Hold on.

Wait a minute. So you mean to tell me you're using my life as bait? ((applause)) You mean to tell me that you position me in insecurity and vulnerability so that you can get a victory? >> You mean to tell me you put me in a helpless situation so that you can be honored? >> You mean to tell me that my journey is about your glory?

You mean to tell me you told me to leave the job, but now I'm camping between no job and financial insecurity, and that's what you wanted. >> Yeah. >> You mean to tell me you told me to leave the relationship, and now I'm camping between no relationship and my fear of being alone? >> It's exactly where I want you. >> Wait, wait.

I left a life of premiscuity, and now I'm camping because you told me to. I'm camping between that life and my own selfworth. >> Yes. >> I left my addiction and now I'm camping between my addiction and future withdrawals. >> I'm just sitting in a place of insecurity and unknown.

What's the regiment for going forward? I got the diagnosis but no clear regiment. I'm just camped. >> Yeah. Because God will make you camp in a place that's vulnerable to you that your hands can't get yourself out of so that when he splits it, you know who gets the glory. >> News flash, your life is not about your glory. >> He will make it for your good, but it will be about his glory. >> This is his history.

Daniel was camping between Nebuchadnezzar and a lion's den, but God came in and closed their mouth. The three Hebrew boys were camping between Nebuchadnezzar and a fire, but God came in and walked through with them so that they would not get scorched. Peter was camping between King Herod and a prison, but God came through and give him gave him a jailbreak.

Hezekiah was camping between the prophecy of his death and death itself. But God came through and gave him 15 more years. >> Jesus was camping between human sin and crucifixion in the Garden of Gethsemane, but God came through and split the pose with the resurrection. He comes through and gets the victory and puts you in a nailbiter that's insecure for you in this walk with God.

So that when he gives you the victory, you have full recognition that you were not the kicker. So yes, in following God, you will be in vulnerable places, >> insecure places, places where you're caught between where you're where you left, but you have no clear path and where you're going. >> And yes, God put you there. put you in a nailbiter.

And let me tell you why they were really biting their nails. Because verse 9 says, "Then the Egyptians chased after them with all their horses and chariots of Pharaoh, his horsemen, and his army, and he overtook them." Okay, in other words, Pharaoh threw the kitchen sink at him.

Okay, you're saved, but you feel like the enemy is throwing the kitchen sink at you. >> They could hear the hoot and holler of the Egyptians. They could feel under their feet the gallop of the horses. They could hear the chariots. Can you imagine them be This is okay, this is not a cartoon.

These are real people >> who are trying to follow God, caught between a rock and a hard place. And now they can hear their past following them. >> They could feel the past trauma all up on them while trying to follow God. And you need to know that this is a tension that's constant for the believer. >> This tension where I can feel my past, but I know I'm called to my future. and I have both of those things true at once. >> They had the cloud by day and the fire by night.

They also had Pharaoh coming up from behind. Those two things and those two tensions are often true at once for the believer. Because while Satan lost, he is a sore loser. The same pride that had him thinking he was greater than God is the same pride he has when God makes you greater than him. >> Okay?

So, you're going for celibacy, but you can't stop getting the late night calls. >> You're trying to be marally faithful, but the person that messed it up in your marriage to begin with is still hovering. And you have this tension between your sobriety and no clear regiment forward.

And you still feel the temptation. >> You know, the call is to heterosexuality, but you can't stop the same sex attraction. Like you're caught between where I left and where I'm going. And I feel both simultaneously. Paul says it in Romans 7. I do what I don't want to do and I can't stop.

He's going back and forth. Because while you're saved, you're still saved in the same body and you still feel the tension of yesterday while having a clear call to tomorrow. >> I'm trying to be the father that God called me to be, but I still can't stop this baby mama drama. >> The two Well, if Jesus was real, he'd save me from that. until he would put you between both >> to help you learn how to depend on him and trust him at a whole another level. >> Until glory, you have to live in history. >> And you'll be caught between Migdal and the sea a lot of times in history waiting on glory. >> And he's training the people because he himself decided insecurity and vulnerability will be the place you camp for now.

We understand how this feels at OCBF. >> And that's where he decided to make you camp. >> And they could feel the tension and feeling this tension. This is what the enemy wants when he approaches and starts throwing the kitchen sink from your past. Yes, sir. >> Verse 10 says, "And the Hebrew people looked." >> If he can get you to look, >> look is not pertaining to just the eyes.

Look means they looked with their heart. >> Remember Lot's wife. >> In Luke 17:32, those are the literal words of Jesus. He says, "Remember Lot's wife." And then right after that he says those who seek to save their life will lose it. That means when Lot's wife look back she sought to go back not just look back because she was curious. >> The enemy make wants to make you think I never should have left. >> The enemy's approach is to get your heart to look. your heart to look so that you think it's better to go back than it is to try to go forward. >> Because while he can't block you from heaven, he can block you from having heaven's experience on earth. >> And so while you're camped between these two places, the enemy wants to make you look.

And when they looked with their heart, >> they said, "Was there not enough graves in Egypt? >> I'd rather just go back there and die. >> I'd rather it's it it was easier to be enslaved and just know I'm a slave." >> Than to be free and not know where I'm going. >> They looked with their heart.

And this is what the enemy wants everyone in here >> to do is to start looking back with your heart. as you have now started out on a quest of following God and God dropped you in insecurity and even though I used to be a slave to a situation at least I was secure in it. >> Oh, it's the ultimate training grounds this wilderness >> where God is training his people in a place of insecurity and vulnerability >> and he has you camping there and it's his decision to put you there.

Yeah. >> Where you actually have to do something that Christians are called to do. Trust God. >> If you never hit a place of insecurity and vulnerability and the path is always clear and you have a clear shot of where you're going and all of that, you don't need faith at all.

He says that the people looked and then when they looked, this is what God said. Verse 13 and 14, he said, uh, tell the people, "Do not fear. Stand by. See the salvation of the Lord and be quiet." >> You're caught between a rock and a hard place.

Your emotions are running high. >> Emotions are things that you cannot control. The Bible still calls you to the fruit of the spirit, self-control. >> Which is why he tells them, "This is the command for you when you're in between migdal and the sea. Do not fear. I know you you're bills got to be paid.

I ain't got no You're justifying whatever your situation is. You're saying, "How in the world I'm going to die out here in the wilderness? God, where are you? You need to be more than a cloud and a pillar." >> And then he comes to you with the word don't fear. >> Stand by. >> It means be still. >> You ever heard the verse be still and know that I am God. >> That God does his best work when you ain't working. >> Don't fear.

Stop. Stand by and watch me. >> Watch and be quiet. >> The people of Israel were they're crying out to the Lord. It's better to go back to Egypt. Be quiet. >> He tells you in this scenario, watch, don't do what you feel. When we're in this situation, we fear. >> We run. >> We try to do the work ourselves.

He said, "Watch me." >> We try to use our own hands. >> And then we complain or gossip. >> And he says, "Be quiet." >> Okay. You fear. How am I? You fear. You run. If I were to just take off running right now, everybody be like, "What?

We try to run from where God has called us to." >> And he says, "Nope, be still." >> Then he says, "Um, the battle is not yours. See, we think it's us, >> right? >> What do I got to do? What do I got to do? Okay. Whenever you are losing your mind >> because you're trying to fix something, >> but you're I mean, you're just totally stressed.

You're in the hospital with heart palpitations. >> You're losing your mind. You no longer are who you know yourself to be. You just fussing at everybody. You don't recognize yourself in the mirror because you're trying to do God's fight. >> Whenever you watch whenever you are losing your mind, >> you have just stepped into God territory. >> And because you're not him, >> you're losing it. >> That is your evidence that he has put you in a place that you cannot fix.

And your call in that place that you can't fix is to not fear. >> Stand by. It takes this. >> Stand by. God says, "Watch me work." >> And then he says, "Be quiet." All of that complaining that sounds like prayer. >> Be quiet, all of that gossiping. >> When you get insecure, your mouth start running. >> You're just talking.

And he says, "No, that that what you have, that inner turmoil is because I told you to camp between Mdul and the Red Sea. I'm trying to teach you something >> because you're going to need this the rest of your journey. >> You're going to need to learn how to not have fear because God haven't given us a spirit of fear. >> You're going to need to learn how to stand by, be still, and know that I am God.

You're going to need to learn that the battle is not even yours to begin with. It belongs to me." And you're going to need to learn how to close your mouth >> because a running mouth means you don't trust God to run. In verse 15, in verse 15, watch it seems like a contradiction.

He tells the people, "Stop praying and go forward. >> Stop all that." What do you mean stop praying? The Bible says pray without ceasing. >> We're supposed to be calling out. >> He says, "Stop praying and go forward." >> Some of us are either praying about stuff God has already given you. >> Lord, give me patience.

You got the spirit. I already gave you patience. I need you to go forward in it. >> You praying for stuff you already got. Stop all that talking and be responsible. or we like prayer meetings with no action items. >> God's saying, "I heard you when you cried out in verse 9 and 10. >> You still talking. >> I need you to go forward. >> But wait a minute, Lord.

You just told me to stand by. How you going to tell me to be still and then the next verse tell me to go forward? >> Because there's a way to be still and go forward at the same time. >> He's telling you to be still in emotional panic >> while going forward in faithful walk. >> See, you can be still because you trust God while going forward because you have faith in his word. >> He's telling you, I need you to be still and trust me.

But that doesn't mean be irresponsible with my word. >> I'm telling you what to do in your tumultuous marriage. I need you to be still and go forward. I'm telling you what to do with your singleness. I need you to be still and go forward. I need you to not have emotional responses based on you being caught between Migdal and the Red Sea while using my word as the light that guides your path.

And as soon, y'all still with me? >> And as soon as he tells them to go forward, sir. >> Okay, you got to imagine it now. Act like you're them. Go forward. Where? We got Egyptians here. >> We got a Red Sea here. >> You talking about go forward?

What you talking about? >> Yes. This is too true about your walk with God. >> He tells you to go forward and you don't see that victory is possible. >> And when most people don't see that victory is possible, they don't go forward. >> But victory will not be experienced until you go forward.

It's not. See, some of y'all are from Missouri. >> You want God to show you him splitting the pole before you line up. >> Faith is the opposite. >> I don't see and I still go based on what God said. So I have to go forward even though I feel like my relationship is a dead end. >> When they go forward, >> it says the cloud changed positions. >> In verse 19, you will see that the cloud that was guiding them went in between the Egyptians and the Hebrew people.

In other words, at the moment you go forward, even when you're still in your trust, God then has your back. >> He went behind the people because God can bind the enemy and loose a blessing all at the same time. >> God will make sure that his people are not harmed.

And when you start moving, he starts changing positions and getting ready for a miracle. And you you know that this migdal and red sea place is the precursor in the nailbiter to a celebratory victory. >> Like you're you're sitting in the precursor, but some of us are sitting for a long time cuz we still sitting. >> There's no obedience to the go forward.

We just pray complain. the going forward there was a repositioning of the cloud >> to guard the people between what's trying to harm them >> and what's guiding them. >> And yes, God put them there because he wants you to focus on the cloud, not the chariots. And then once they go forward, remember, don't fear.

Stand by. All of that, >> then I'm going to be obedient and go forward. Even when it's a dead end, God's going to have my back because he's switching positions and getting ready for a miracle I do not see. And now God introduces them to victory from this nailbiter.

They are appropriately positioned for this moment. >> Y'all like, "Oh Lord, what he gonna do? In verse 21, it says, "Okay, now Moses, stretch out your arms." >> And it says, "When Moses stretched out his arms, God sent a strong eastern wind. Yeah. >> And he split the waters. >> Oh, you don't.

Okay. So, >> don't fear. See the salvation of the Lord. >> Watch how I'm about to guide you >> through this. Moses, stretch out your arms and I'm going to send an eastern wind. And that wind is going to divide the sea >> and create a path for you to follow. >> Okay, now I've got to illustrate this because I want to make sure you get it. >> Okay, Moses, lift up your arms.

Do you hear the sound of the wind? >> You hear the sound of the wind? Once the wind starts blowing, you know something is about to happen. >> Moses lifted up his arms and in came the eastern wind. >> Once the wind started blowing, things started changing. >> Moses lifted up his arms and in came an eastern wind and the wind started blowing.

And as the wind started blowing, the sea started splitting. Now, I need you to look at what it looked like when the eastern wind came through. Most people think the m Do you hear the sound of the wind? Most people think the miracle is in the water. The miracle is in the wind. >> When the wind came, the wind is what manipulated the water.

It was all. Do you hear the sound of the wind? >> The Hebrew word for wind is ruach. >> God sent the eastern ruach to split the sea and guide the people. You say, Jonathan, where do you find the word ruach again? All you got to do is go to Genesis 1:2 where it says the spirit of God was moving over the face of the deep.

Yeah. The spirit of is the Hebrew word ruach that he used in Exodus 14. So when God told Moses to lift up his hands, it's because he wanted the people to experience the spirit. >> The spirit of God is who split the sea. The spirit of God is who dried the ground.

The spirit of God is who made the way. The spirit of God is who moved the mountain. Now Nick, do you hear the sound of the wind? God the father spoke to Moses. Jesus was the sacrificial lamb that saved the people. Then after they got saved, he said, "Now let me give you the Holy Ghost." >> You got to understand that the Holy Ghost leads you and guides you.

Jesus saves you and God the Father anoints you and he gave them the experience of God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit. So when they were in vulnerability, he was trying to show them the Holy Ghost. Anybody remember Acts 2? >> Acts 2:2. when like a mighty rushing wind, the spirit of God came to the church and they learned that he is the one who lived.

Y'all don't get it. You want to know how to walk this life out? It's by the Holy Ghost. You want to learn how to live this life? It's by the Holy Ghost. He empowers you. He anoints you. He enables you. He leads you. He comforts you. He illuminates you.

He dry ground for you. He intercedes for you. He gives you strength when you're weak. He promotes you. He leads you. It's all about the ruach. So the sea was split. They experienced the Holy Ghost. God the father talking to Moses. Jesus who saved the people as the lamb.

And the Holy Ghost who now you have to learn because it is the Holy Ghost that's going to lead you. It's the Holy Ghost that's going to get you through. It's the Holy Ghost that's going to make a way out of now way. It's the Holy Ghost that's going to move the mountain.

It's the Holy Ghost that's going to give you the call. It's the Holy Ghost that goes before you. It's all about the ruach. And that same ruach that he sent by the eastern wind to save the people, Moses lifted up his arm again because the salvation was for the people, not for the Egyptians.

So he killed the Egyptians while saving the people. It's all about the Holy Ghost because the Holy Ghost leads you, protects you, guides you, comforts you, illuminates for you. He intercedes for you and he helps you live this life called the wilderness. When you get saved, >> God will put you in vulnerable places >> because he wants to introduce you to his spirit. >> Oh, y'all didn't. >> This is not about your feelings, your emotionalism, your mind, what you're going.

It is the spirit of God. Jesus said, "It's better for you that I go >> and that I send you the spirit because the same spirit that split the sea is the same spirit that can move a mountain in your situation. He's going to lead us, church, and continue to guide us.

I invite the spirit into this place. I invite the ruach into this place. I invite the Holy Ghost into this place. You lead us. You guide us. You show us. You split the sea. You make a way. You enable us. You intercede. You send power. You strengthen me.

You help me. You comfort me. It is the ruach. >> Thank you, Lord. >> So now As you sit in between Migdal and the Red Sea, >> don't fear. >> The spirit of God is coming. Matter of fact, don't fear. You already have him. >> Praise the name of the Lord.

Thank you for your spirit. ((music playing)) Stand to your feet. My prayer is that at Oakliff Bible Fellowship from this point forward, we will follow the lead of the spirit. >> You'll have to do so sometimes with your eyes closed, >> but he's leading you and guiding you. >> And God will hold you in these places >> because yes, God speaks to you.

Yes, Jesus saves you, >> but now you're in the age of the Holy Spirit who leads you >> and guides you and protects you. >> This is your introduction to God in the wilderness. >> And that's who we're called to follow. As we get ready to conclude, my challenge to you is you do not fear.

You stand by, see the salvation of the Lord. >> We stop complaining >> and we look for the guidance of the spirit of God >> as a church and individually. Lord, spirit ruach guide me. Show me what I can't see >> so that we can continue in these places full of the Holy Spirit. >> If you want to be a member at Oakliff Bible Fellowship, we invite you to join us as we continue to follow the spirit's lead.

We have a short window in this life and we want to do it together as a family to become the best that God has called us to become. And so go to ocbfchurch.org/membership /membership and become a member so that we can continue to grow together. Be faithful in giving for two reasons.

Because I don't know if you know it, but we're going somewhere. October the 12th, I want you to come bring your family. It's going to be family worship October the 12th. What is that? Three or four Sundays from now. And we're going to talk about the vision where the spirit of God is leading the body of Christ.

So be faithful because we're going somewhere and because God tells you to in obedience. Let's pray and then we're going to love on each other on the way out. We love you and honor you, Lord. Thank you for blessing us with your spirit. Thank you for introducing us to the Godhead, >> the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Help us to walk by his leading. And thank you, Lord, for making the kick even though we couldn't see it as possible. take us home in the loving care that you brought us here >> and we'll continue to give you the glory in Jesus name. All God's people said, >> amen.
