So February, we were planning to come in February and the Lord made us pivot and the weather was crazy and so we had to stay home.

But y'all, can we make some noise? Did anybody watch February? Can we make some noise for our women's group director, Miss Anna Florence, who preached the word of God? ((cheering)) Yes. Yes. Yes. What a powerful, powerful, amazing word that she preached. And what she talked about a little bit is this year we are being wholehearted, right?

We talked about being wholehearted. And what does wholehearted mean? What does that look like? It means that you love God, you love yourself, and you love others, right? Um, and how do we show God that we love him? Our love is rooted in obedience. >> Amen. >> The Bible says, "If you love me, you'll keep my commandments."

Right? >> Amen. >> And then it we talked about loving ourselves, not a love that's rooted in pride, but a natural love of self, right? And then we talked about loving others deeply. people see the God in us by how we love others. Amen. >> Amen. >> Amen.

So this year we're talking about being wholehearted. And I've already read this scripture um um Sharita, but I said this scripture, but read the scripture for us if you don't mind. >> Okay. We are coming from uh John 14:15. And it says, "If you love me, keep my commands commandments, right?

Obey my commands." And so today we are going to lead a discussion that's focused on um being obedient and having an obedient heart. Amen. >> Amen. But before we kick off, can we have a little bit of praise and worship? >> Amen. Please welcome our women's praise team as they come. >> Hallelujah.

Good morning, Grace girls. >> Praise the Lord. Hallelujah. What an awesome God we serve. And he loves us so much. And this morning, we just want to love on him and sing love songs to them. They're familiar songs. I hope you would stand on your feet and sing with us.

Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Can we lift our voice to the Lord? To the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. Father, we lift your name on high. Such a mighty God. You are such a faithful God. You [screaming] are. You know all things. Father, you're the same God yesterday, today, and forever more.

And for that, we lift our voice in praise. We lift our hands in praise. We honor you, Father. We reverence you, Jesus. Wonderful Savior. Mighty God. Wonderful Savior. Wonderful Savior. I don't know if that's anybody's testimony in here, but it's mine. He's been a wonderful, wonderful savior. Amen.

Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. I'm sorry y'all. I just love him. >> I just love him so much. If he does never if he doesn't do another thing for me, y'all. He has done so much and I can't help but to lift my voice in praise. I can't help but to lift my hands.

I can't help but to Shabbach the King of Kings. Amen. Amen. Oh, can we lift this up to the Lord really quickly? I love you, Jesus. Oh Lord, I worship. >> Just want to tell you, >> Lord, I love you. >> I love ((music playing)) you >> more than anything, Lord. >> More than anything, Jesus.

Father, we love you today. We bless your name, Jesus. I love you. >> I love you. So we worship ((music playing)) and adore you. >> We just want to tell you Lord, >> oh Lord, we love you. >> We love you. We love you. We love you. We love you, Father.

We love you, Jesus. We lift your name on high. My Lord, we love you. >> I love you, >> Lord. [screaming] I worship. >> Oh, I just want to tell you. >> I got to tell you, Lord, I love ((music playing)) you. >> Lord, I love you. >> Hallelujah, Jesus. Hallelujah, Jesus.

Hallelujah, Jesus. Now, let's just take a moment to sing something sweet to the Lord in your own voice. Whatever it is that's flowing from your heart, let's just lift that up to the Lord today. As Father, we love you more than anything. Bless your name, Jesus. Bless your name, Father.

Lord, we love you. We love you, Father. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Is there anybody with us today who just is so excited to fellowship with one another in the Lord to be with your fellow Grace Girl community? Don't it just feel good to get together and worship and honor the Lord?

If you're tuning in online, we're so grateful for all of you. If you're IN THE BUILDING, LET'S GIVE IT UP FOR those who couldn't make it in the building but still thought enough TO BE A PART OF WHAT'S happening today. If you are tuning in online, we are so grateful that you are with us and we want you to engage and participate just as we are in the room.

And today, do y'all know what we talking about today? Obedience. Sometimes that's like a cuss word. Okay. Be obedient. What? Let me do what? Right. When we're talking about having an obedient heart, y'all, and when we talk about being wholehearted, we believe that the first step in that, the first part of our focus scripture of Matthew 22 that says, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, and soul with all of it."

And scripture tells us exactly what we have to do to show the Lord that we love him. John 14:15, which is our focus scripture for today. How many of y'all read that before you got here? Because if you was on Grace Girl Connect on Thursday, we talked about it, right?

Yep. That's right. John 14:15 says, "If you love me, obey my commands." That is how we show the Lord our love for him is to be obedient to what his word instructs us to do. So, if you're not obedient, my dear, you're not showing him. You're showing him that maybe you just don't love him that much.

And so, our challenge or our encouragement to everyone in the room and everyone who is online is to be obedient and to show the Lord that you love him. That you love him. I love the message version of John 14:15. It says, "If you love me, do what I TOLD YOU TO DO."

Do what I told you to do. Y I feel like sometimes the message Bible is like beating me up a little bit. LIKE GIRL, DO WHAT I TOLD you to do. My goodness. And that's really what scripture is telling us, y'all, to do what God has instructed us to do.

So, all year at our monthly gatherings, we are going to be talking about different commandments from the Lord that we need to follow because we got to bring the word to y'all because some of y'all ain't cracking the word open during the week. You're not studying. And we encourage you to do that, too.

And if you find that that is you, that you have not been consistent in your devotion and study time with the Lord, it's all right, GIRLFRIEND, BECAUSE WE ALL been there. IF YOU'VE BEEN THERE, GIVE YOURSELF a clap. Give it a clap. Give a clap. If you've been there, everybody in the room is clapping because we've all been there.

But guess what? We get new mercies every day. God shows us mercy and he gives us a new day and a new time to be able to get it right. So if you didn't do it right yesterday, even if you didn't do it right this morning, you got right now >> to do to get it right to to purpose in your heart right to start studying scripture and to learn the commandments of the Lord so that you can be obedient and show God you love him.

Amen. >> And so we just want to take some time to pray. I'm ask Tiffany to come up here with me right now. We're going to take some time to pray. But before we pray, if you are in the room and you tuning online, we want you to take a moment to think about what are some of the things that are hindering you from being obedient to the Lord?

What are some of the things that are distracting you? What are some of the things that you think, "Oh Lord, if I do this this one time, it's okay. I'll get it right the next time." We want you to take a second and think about that. And then we want you to turn to one or two neighbors yours.

If you're tuning in online, we want you to write your answer in the chat. And we want you to share with your neighbor one thing that they can pray for you right now to help you move more toward and having an obedient heart. We want to pray that the Lord would build you up in whatever area that is that you're weak.

Because what does scripture tell us, y'all? When we're weak, he is strong, right? We have Holy Spirit to help us. So go ahead, if you have that Anything that may be a hindrance to you, share it with your neighbor because they're going to take your name. They're going to pray for you right now.

But they're not going to stop just with praying for you right now. They're going to pray for you all month. Right, neighbor? You're going to cover that PERSON FOR THE WHOLE MONTH. You're going to take that issue and cover them in prayer. All right. If you're tuning in online, we want you to write your answers in the chat.

We want you to share one thing, one area that has been hindering you from being obedient to Christ. And if you're tuning in online, we don't just want you to type your answer. We want you to read the other comments that your Grace Girl sisters are typing. We want you to read those so that you can take time all month, even if you're tuning in online, to cover those requests in prayer, to cover that thing in prayer for your Grace Girl online digital disciple sisters.

Amen. Amen. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Oh, Father, in the name of Jesus, you hear your daughters. We're so grateful that you are a God that hears us. And Father, I pray for every person under the sound of my voice. You know the desires of their heart, Lord God. you know all of the hindrances that are stopping them from being obedient to you.

Father, I ask that you will search our hearts. I pray that you will expose every hidden thing, every deceitful, dirty thing, Father, that's stopping us from being obedient. Father, allow us to turn away from disobedience so that we are aligning with your word, Lord God. Lord, when we say we love you, we know that that means that we'll be obedient and obey your commandments.

So, Father, allow us to not just sincerely love you, but to completely love you so that we are following your will and your way. Lord, give us the strength that we need so that we can walk in obedience. Father, help us to understand that delayed obedience is still disobedience.

Allow us to move when you tell us to move. Allow us to do the things that you have given us to do. The moment that you tell us and you give us to do it, Father, give us hearts that want to pursue you completely and totally. Lord, you hear the prayer requests.

You know the things that are stopping your your daughters from being obedient. Father, I pray that you would convict our hearts and allow us to turn away. We thank you for what you're going to do. We believe that you're a God that answers prayer. So we know that because we've prayed, Lord God, you have heard our prayer.

And we can give you praise today for what you're going to do. We can give you praise because our obedience is linked to someone coming into better relationship with you. Lord, allow us to tell somebody about you, not just with our words, but with our walk. We thank you and we praise you, Lord, for what you're going to do in our hearts. give us a heart of obedience in Jesus name.

Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. All righty. You may take your seats, ladies. I'm going to call Sharita back up here. Oh, we're going to come down. We're going to do a little activity and you may need your mobile device or an electronic device. We're going to do a quick minty activity.

Shar, you want to tell them about it? Yes. So I'm on this journey of being wholehearted. Um and when the graphic comes up on the screen, we want you to scan uh the QR code. Um the question that we're asking is what is one practical step that you can take this year towards living wholeheartedly?

Um, if you have if you're having trouble scanning the QR code, um, you can go to www.mmentym nti.com and enter in this code that's displayed on the screen and we just want to take a minute um, again one practical step that you're going to take this year towards living wholeheartedly. >> And if you're online, we um, want you to participate as well.

You can scan the QR code. You can go to mentymeter.com, type in this code. We want to hear from you. One practical step you'll take this year to live wholehearted. And again, wholehearted as a reminder, loving God, loving yourself, loving others. And Chip, while we're waiting for the results, um I can share one practical step that I'm actually going to take.

And one of that that step is showing myself more grace. I don't Amen. Amen. I don't feel like I show myself enough grace. And again, in order to be wholehearted, I have to love myself. That's a component of it. And so, I'm going to show myself more grace because I'm hard on myself.

And if God doesn't expect me to be perfect, why am I expecting myself to be perfect? Right? So, that's one of my steps that I'm going to take this year. >> Okay. Well, we just found out the code is not working, right? Okay. Thanks for letting us know.

Okay. Do I have one volunteer in the audience who is brave enough? Yes. Who's brave enough and share one practical way that you're going to live wholehearted this year? >> I see a hand back here. I'm coming. I'm coming. I saw a hand back here. Don't be shy. >> It's okay.

You have an answer. Okay, you can share. >> Yes. >> Stand up. State your name. Hi, Hawkins. >> Hi, Hopkins. >> Pray every day. Every >> pray. That is a good one. Thank you so much for sharing. >> Amen. >> Anybody else want to share one practical? Oh, we I got a hand over here. >> Okay.

You want to share too? Okay. You got to stand up and tell us your name. >> Zara >> um to pray and listen to all the time. >> Obedience. Okay. Sorry. Talk about obedience. That's a great one. Thank you so much for sharing. State your name and one practical way that you're going to be live wholehearted this year. >> Consistency, obedience, and perspective. >> Consistency, obedience, and perspective.

I love that. Anybody else? You can come to the mic. Any other volunteers? >> Good morning, Grace girls. So, one thing that I want to do is um just continue if if you fall off, if a day isn't good or um I just want to continue like to to to continue to pursue.

It doesn't matter. It like I just was trying to do a fast and you know I started off so strong and um then I I fell off of uh one day and then I was like you know what pick back up the next day. So I just want to continue.

It doesn't matter if if it doesn't go as I planned just continue to pursue it every single day. And that's what it's about. Anyone else want to share? Oh, okay. Good morning, Grace girls. My name is Angela and for me is to listen to God's voice. A lot of times I doubt was that God?

But my thing as far is when God tells me something, listen to his voice. It could be either like when I need to get up to go to work and instead of hitting that snooze button, God will wake me up before the alarm clock and he's like, "You already woke me up so I can be on time."

I just need to listen. And so that's when I'm going to start to listen to God's voice the first time. >> Thank you so much for sharing. >> Good morning. M is being intentional because And sometimes when you're trying to do some things, people will call you and take you off of the the route that the Lord have you on and you'll go that route instead of saying, "Nope, this is where he told me to go.

Let me be intentional and let me just keep on walking that way." So it and then sometimes some things you don't want to do, right? But because he told you to do it, we got to be intentional. So that's mine for this year. Thank you. >> Thank you so much for sharing. >> Okay.

And we have one response from our online audience. Yes, we have an online uh grace girl and she said, "Be more intentional. Let the past be the past. Control what I can pray for and what I cannot control." Oh, we got we got one more. Give me one second.

Praise the Lord, saints. Um, I just want to stick close to God's word. He told Peter, "Feed my sheep." He also said in the word, "The harvest is plenty, the laborers are few. I'm out to get as many souls as I can get. >> Amen. Amen. Thank you so much.

You want to share? Okay, we got a few more. We got a few more. Good morning. I'm Kita Lawrence and I just wanted to say that what God is putting on my heart is um being intentional about fasting and more often not just when the church calls a fast but our life should be a consecrated life of fasting and praying and it definitely works. >> Amen.

Thank you so much. You want to share your name? Hi, my name is Queen Wa and I want to be more persistent as I am every day all day long finding people to reach the spirit and remind them to be obedient because I'm a very obedient child of God. >> Okay, we got we got a few more.

Okay, my name is Regina and mine says um continue to share the word. The word says, "Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your father which is in heaven." >> Amen. >> Thank you. >> All right. >> LET'S GIVE IT UP FOR OUR GRACE girls who shared. >> Amen. >> All right, you guys.

So, we are going to move into our book discussion, y'all. And I'm so excited to dive into this book. Um, how many of y'all got your book? WHO GOT OKAY, Y'ALL GOT YOUR BOOK. HOW MANY OF Y'ALL READ THE BOOK? OKAY. I READ THE BOOK. [laughter] UM, we are so excited to move into this next portion of our discussion where we share and we want to hear some of your takeaways um and any questions that you have that you want to talk about in regard to the book.

At any point in time in our time with during our time together, you can come to the mics and when you get to the mic, we will acknowledge you to share. Right? So, we just first want to start off by talking about what our biggest takeaway, what your biggest takeaway was from the book.

What's one thing that you read in that book that was like a aha moment for you where you were just like, "Oh my goodness, like I can't believe it." So, start thinking about that and when you have it, come to the mic. Okay. Now, while we're waiting for some of those of you who read the book, who have a biggest takeaway so that you can share with us, I do have some information to share with you all that we are really, really bummed about.

We're so really, really sad about it. But unfortunately, y'all, things happened that are out of our control, right? So, there are some storms going on right now. And Brenda Palmer is traveling today. She was traveling today and got her flight got cancelled, y'all. So, they had to rework her flight schedule.

So, unfortunately, y'all, she is not going to be able to be with us today. I know. And some OF Y'ALL SHOWED UP IN PERSON JUST FOR HER. I KNOW THIS WAS YOUR first time coming to the Grace Girl gathering and you only came because you thought she was going to be here, but we're glad you're here anyway.

[laughter] And we hope that you are enjoying your time with us. So, she is very she her heart is just so sad that she could that she can't be with us today. Her team, they're so um you know, they were wishing that she could be here. But y'all, we gonna have a good time discussing this book >> and we gonna get all our takeaways about being obedient.

So, anybody have a takeaway? Do you guys want to share one of your biggest takeaways from the book? >> Sure. >> Okay. Listen, we we gonna go to Sharita first because y'all look at her book. Hold your book up. Every time she be she come ready and prepared with the tabs, y'all.

Okay. you you might GO AHEAD AND LEAD US. YOU LEAD US into the book discussion. [laughter] >> Okay. So, listen. This book is full of nuggets, right? And I'm the type of person that because it was so rich as I was going through, I'm like, "Oh, I want to make sure I come back to this.

Let me tab it." So then I be like, "Oh, I want to highlight it." And so I ran out of tabs, so I had to start highlighting. But when I say almost on every single page there is something in this book that you can take away that you can apply almost immediately to your life.

It really feels like a book where you're having an actual conversation with a person. It is a very quick read. Um I found myself when I finished I started reading it all over again. So this is my second go round because that's how good it was because it was just so much information that she shared that, you know, we could apply to our lives.

And so to get to the question of my biggest takeaway, um, if you have your books, it's on page 118. >> Okay. PAIGE. [laughter] And it states that if God brought me into a space, it's because that space needs something that only I can offer. And as someone, and I shared this earlier, um, when we were praying, someone who suffers from low selfworth from time to time.

That one really really spoke up spoke to me um because it says there's a purpose in me being there and it's time for me to show up with the full confidence >> that God has equipped me for it. And so that was the biggest takeaway, well one of the biggest takeaways that I had in in the book or from the book.

Oh, that's a good one because how many of you in the room by show of hands online put it in the chat. How many of you have ever struggled with having the confidence to be in the room where God put you? Me. Yeah. [laughter] >> Me. So, all of us have had that struggle, right?

And that is where we really have to lean in to just being obedient to what God told us to do. >> Amen. >> Hey, good morning. >> Keep talking. What do you want me to do? Keep There it is. Thanks, guys. Can we clap it up for production because they're just always on it.

Um, but with that, I think that sometimes um the thing that's hindering our confidence in being obedient to Lawrence is we'll be so preoccupied and distracted by who's in the room. >> We'll be so preoccupied with someone else in their calling or someone else in their platform or someone else in their followers or someone else in their circle of friends.

And the Lord's like, "No, ma'am. I called you to do X, Y, and Z." and the thing that he's called you to do, he wants you to do it in the earth. So, I think that, you know, something that'll just really just kind of paralyze our confidence sometimes will just be so distracted in the anointing in somebody else completely discrediting and negating what he's done and doing in us. >> Amen.

Amen. >> That comparison will get you. That comparison will get you. >> Comparison will get you every time. >> Every time it'll get you. Okay. So, here's something that I want us all to think about. Who brought a notebook? Who brought a little journal, notebook, SOMETHING TO WRITE?

Y'ALL CAME FROM TODAY. >> If you don't, you if you don't use your phone, if you're tuning in online, grab something to write with. Really quick, I want everybody in the room to think of one thing that God has told you to do that you have not been obedient to doing because of what we're talking about right here. >> Yeah. >> Because of not lacking the confidence to do what God told you to do. because you're comparing yourself to other people who may be in the room.

Think about it. Write that down. If you can't think of it now, think about it later. Right? These are all the things that we need to consider and really pray about and bring before the Lord and really search our hearts. Right? Really search our hearts to see what pinpoint what exactly is it?

What is it that is in my heart that is causing me to be disobedient? because we don't like to use that word because it makes us feel bad. But that's exactly what it is. It's disobedience. And there are consequences to our disobedience. >> Amen. >> There are consequences.

So, it's important for us to be obedient. What else y'all got? You look like you want to say something else. >> Yo, you know what? We have someone say, "Please share because you have something to share." >> Yeah. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't out of order.

Um, I I agree. There are nuggets all throughout this book and I have marks and things all throughout the book. But one of the things early in the book on page 10, it says, "A God who would lay down his life for me, knowing that I would make choices contrary to his plan for me is worthy of everything I would ever have to give up in my pursuit of him.

Our surrender flows not from a force of will, but from receiving God's love for us and responding to his love by living life poured out surrender. >> Amen. >> Yeah. That really touched me because like she said, nothing nothing will ever be asked nothing will ever be asked to give up or walk away from amounts to what God what Christ did for us. >> Amen. >> And so it's a reminder to me that even though there are sacrifices that God is asking me to make, I have to be willing to make them because they don't amount to what God did for me at all.

Amen. And thank you so much for sharing. >> Something else that I think was really great from from that page, and it kind of goes back to what Anna was talking about um how scripture tells us if we um if you love me, you obey my commandments. Scooting on down on that page, uh Brenda says, "There should be nothing that I crave beyond living with Jesus.

Fellowship with our Lord should be our ultimate desire and other things come secondary to that. And it it definitely makes me think I don't know if she's here. Uh Dr. Lady Bob, I don't know if she's she's in the house. Where is she? Oh, queen. Look at her.

Just a glowing. If you've never done uh Lady Bob and Bishop's Brown three-day water fast. >> If you if you've never done it, you got to do the next one. You need to do every single one that they have every quarter. But I remember when I first started doing them and um I was coming into that fast with all these things that I was fasting for.

And if you all know Lady Bett, you know she going to chinch checkck you real I mean with a holy ghost gather right day. >> I mean just in regular conversation you going to leave feeling real snotty. But on the first day I mean she's going to get you together.

But the thing that I love so much that she reminds us is that above all else should be your love and your intimacy for the Lord. >> Right? So I think that in in that and it's so convicting because you know you you immediately like oh I got to get I need this or I want this.

Oh let me fast and later be like no ma'am no like you should be desiring this intimacy for the Lord because you love him. Right? So I think when we're talking about obedience that we've got to spend time with there with our hearts enough asking ourselves is God enough. >> Is he is he?

Because if he's and that's a real conversation that you really got to have with yourself for him to illuminate the things in your heart that like how like how Brenda said at that conference is sitting in his seat. the stuff sit the stuff the people the things whatever sitting in his seat because it's like Lord I I'm obedient to you or I'm going to be obedient the things that you called me to do because I love you not for everything that comes on the other side of it >> but simply because as your daughter I desire to be obedient to you because of my love for you and if if it's things where it's like okay well I don't want to be obedient here because blah blah blah blah or I'm looking for this to happen or just in case just in.

We love a just in case situation. We love a good grudge and then it shows us those things in our hearts that we've placed before him, >> you know. So, I I love that she said p I don't know where the lady went, but I love you. Shout out to page 10.

It was real real good. But but but yeah, so >> yeah, that's good. >> Shiron, do you have something from our online? >> Yes, there's a lot of chatter online and they're talking about comparison. Comparison kills and what they was, "Don't compare. You are uniquely talented in your own way."

And then one lady said, "Comparison got me yesterday. I did not realize it until my son pointed it out." >> Kids will get you together every time. Listen. [laughter] >> They will get you together every time. Um, one of the things that I wanted to um, point out in that Brenda kind of mentions in the book um, is the importance of community on our walk in obedience.

Um, and one of the things that she says is seek a community that collectively embraces doing whatever it takes to please God. And so it reminded me of last year how we were pursuing holiness and we talked about this idea of cultural holiness and how you can only be as holy as the people you surround yourself with.

And so it's important that while we are on our journey in obedience again that we are surrounding ourselves with people who number one can hold us accountable and who are on the same obedience journey as we're on as we're following Jesus. >> Amen. Cuz we we want to know what page you on. >> Oh I'm sorry sis.

I'm sorry sis. I'm on page 53. >> Okay [laughter] I'm fold that down. >> Fold that. But along those lines, Tiff, it's so that is so important because if you surround yourself with the wrong people or the wrong things, those people and those things become a distraction which takes you further and further away from God.

Right? So, it's really really important to evaluate those people, those things, those activities that aren't drawing you closer to God, but that are creating separation between you and God. And that could be a matter of time. I'm so busy going to Well, I need to be going to the gym, but I'm so busy going to the gym that I don't have time for anything else.

I'm too tired to pray by the time I get home. I'm waking up to go to a 6 a.m. Pilates class, but I can't wake up to do my devotional. I'm out of order. I'm completely out of order. So, >> and and I think too, you you have to be okay. been learning the past couple years honestly you have to be okay when your community changes >> like I think sometimes we'll be holding on to people because oh we went to school together oh we've got similar interest or whatever but we don't know how to pivot when the Lord's trying to shift your community so like especially especially as believers if you're the majority of the people in your community are believers and as the believer in the group They can't.

Your group don't know the Lord, >> but you supposed to be the light. >> You know what I mean? So, one being okay when your community changes, but then also how are you being the change so that people are people are are you help me Lord, what's the word?

How are you are you being intentional in how you are evangelizing and how you're sharing the gospel, how you're discipling? So, just being conscious that's a good point there of of of community. Yeah, that's good. >> I don't know if any of that came out right. It came all came out.

It makes sense. I call that that day ones trap, right? [laughter] Because we get so caught up in, oh, these are my day ones or these are, you know, I've known this person forever and it's like that doesn't mean anything. If that person is preventing you from being everything that God has called you to be or do everything that God has called you to do, it doesn't matter if I've known that person since elementary school.

If they're not helping me along my walk, >> then they're almost like a hindrance. And I have to I have to pray to God about that. and and and check that and check myself. So, did you have something to share? >> Good morning. >> Good morning. My name is Vicki Hamilton and what really affected me or touched me was page 32 when Brenda was talking about the ripple effect.

And the statement there was really really powerful that when God transitions you into a new season, you're you're not the only one. >> Amen. >> He also has plans for the people and the seasons that you're leaving. Because when we transition and she was talking about the people that she was worried about and concerned about that because she was making her change, how would it affect them? done.

[laughter] >> Amen. That's so good because sometimes we try to be people's savior and we're not the ones saving anybody. >> AMEN. >> YOU KNOW, YOU KNOW YOU IN that role that God has told you to leave and move into the next space, but you don't want to leave cuz everything GOING TO FALL APART AND CRUMBLE if I'm not here to keep it together. >> Right?

And it's driving our disobedience. And and when you do that, you're putting yourself in the place of God is really what you're doing. When you think because you leave something, it's just going to fall apart. Like God isn't sovereign and has everything under control and already has the plan for the next person who's going to come in and do what they need to do so you can do WHAT YOU NEED TO DO.

STOP TRYING TO BE GOD, [screaming] Y'ALL. WE ALL GOT TO STOP trying to be God. And I know it firsthand personal experience because one of the things um that really spoke to my heart in this book um is when Brenda wrote and this on page seven. This was right.

She got me from the beginning y'all. Okay. [laughter] When she talks about the journey of of yes is always rooted in the decision to relinquish control. Mhm. >> And I never realized I had a control problem, y'all, until I was maybe in my late 20s. I realized that I had a control issue, but I had to figure out why do I feel like I always have to be in control.

God would be speaking to me about doing something and I wouldn't do it. And really, it's because I thought I had a better answer. [laughter] I thought I Can you imagine? I thought I had a better plan than God. That's really what we're saying when God is giving us specific instruction that you know he is speaking to you and you don't follow it. >> You you're trying to be in control and you're saying I have a better plan than God.

Like God is telling me to do this but [crying] I can see the outcome and I just don't want to go down that road. Right? But I had to figure out what was the underlying issue of why I felt like I needed to be in control. And it all came down to fear.

Y'all, I have dealt with paralyzing fear. >> Has anybody else in the room? Anybody else in the room? Yes. I have dealt with paralyzing fear where I was so fearful, I wouldn't move. >> God would tell me clearly. He would speak so clearly about what he wanted me to do.

But because I was so fearful and it was out of my range of control, I would sit in disobedience >> and make excuses in my own head that I started to believe y'all thinking I was doing the right thing. >> But I was living in disobedience. And there are consequences to being disobedient.

There are consequences that you will have to face if you continue to sit in your disobedience. And if you have relationship with the Lord, if you have surrendered to him as Lord of your life, you know what that means? You have the Holy Spirit. And when you have Holy Spirit, you know what that means?

That he speaks to you. That he's speaking to you. and that he will give you prompings on what the Lord is directing and wants you to do. >> He will. >> He will. >> We just have to listen. >> And when you don't listen to those prompting, no matter how small it is, you are being disobedient. >> And just like when we were kids, when we were disobedient to our parents, there was a consequence.

My parents had consequences in our house, y'all. Okay? Something was getting taken. you was being put on restriction. You might BE GETTING A LITTLE POP here and there, you know, but there were consequences. And my goodness, if we would just be obedient, there's so many things, so many painful experience.

If I I'll put it on me. if I would have just been obedient. There's so many scenarios and situations that were so painful and hurtful that I would not have had to face had I chosen radical o immediate obedience to the Lord. And that's what this book is all about.

Radical obedience even when YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND. MOST OF THE TIME I DON'T UNDERSTAND what the LORD IS SAYING, WHY HE'S SAYING IT. I KNOW WHAT HE'S SAYING, BUT I'M LIKE, "LORD, WHY ARE YOU TELLING ME TO do this? It doesn't make any sense." Sometimes God will give us instruction that may not make sense until 5 years from now, three years from now, 10 years from now.

BUT I CAN PROMISE YOU THIS, >> it's going to make sense because what the SCRIPTURE TELL US, >> ALL things work together, >> all things. It doesn't say some things. It doesn't say things that make you feel good. It doesn't say things that you think are right. It says, "All things, >> come on now, >> work together." >> Amen. >> For good. >> Amen. >> But who is it for? >> FOR THOSE WHO LOVE GOD. >> GOD. >> AMEN.

AMEN. >> WELL, go ahead and preach then. >> Yes. [laughter] >> If you want to share, >> but I think Oh. Oh, I'm sorry. >> This is an act of obedience because I didn't want to get up out of that chair. Good morning, Grace Girls. >> Good morning. My name is Sakanda and I know that God loves me. >> On page 52, it says, "Likewise, Jesus isn't interested in us doing things for him just to check a box." >> He wants our hearts and we have to get to a place where we will forsake anything that will hinder our intimacy with Jesus. >> I've been hearing that over and over. just did her fast with her over and over.

First 30 minutes. That's my new thing for the year. Over and over just for God's intimacy. The other thing is this. I'm furoughed right now. >> Okay. God said I got to stop everything just for you so you can sit down and have time with me. >> I'm just saying. >> In the midst of it, he's keeping me.

And I'm praying that he keeps others. >> Amen. >> But just be obedient. Amen. >> Because if he loves me, he loves you, too. >> Amen. >> Amen. >> Amen. >> Praise God for your obedience and share that. >> Yes. Amen. ((applause)) >> Oh, okay. Good morning, Grace Girls.

My name is Pamela Cobbs, and I just had to share what my aha moment was. I haven't gotten that far in the book, but on page between pages six and seven, um, and I think the that young lady at at the end to my left had touched on this point and I just had to get up and just um state what my aha was.

So Brenda says, "When God asks me to follow him into a new thing, he'll often ask me, can I be enough for you?" And when I read that in my bed, I literally it my heart just sunk and it just really sat with me as if God was like, "Really, Pam?

Can I really be enough for you?" And then she also says, "God calls us to consider whether we can ultimately find satisfaction in him alone." At the heart of saying yes to God lies the essential act of surrender. No, not the lip service kind of surrender. We often give, but one that says yes, I surrender all.

All my plans, will, emotions, everything I pursue in life becomes secondary to my desire for God and what he desires for me. >> Amen. Amen. Thank you so much for sharing. Um along along those lines and along with what you said, Tam, as far as like asking yourself the question like is God enough?

Um in order to to really answer that question, we have to be honest with ourselves and we have to be honest with God because one, he already knows. So we might as well be honest. And I love um on page 57 um in the book, Brenda mentioned that we should make space to practice honesty with God.

And she referenced um this scripture Psalm 139:23 24. And it's in order for us to affect real change in our lives, we have to be honest. And if we can't be honest with God, y'all, something wrong. Because again, he already knows. He's just waiting for us to catch up and be honest and and really say what's on our heart.

And I think that that's so important to do that heart work to really really do that hard work and dig deep. And I love the book because at the end of each chapter, there's a pause and reflect section where uh Brenda will list out like really thoughtprovoking questions and it really gives you that time and that space to really just soak in what you just read, but then also reflect on how you can apply that to your lives.

And so if you as you're reading, if you haven't, I would suggest getting a journal and as you're going through and when you get through when you get to those sections, really just jotting down what God is speaking to you, being honest with yourself and most importantly being honest with God.

Amen. >> That's true. You said something really good and really key. Um, and I say this often is that um, a lot of our issue is not that we need more information. So many of us have done every disciplehip group. We're a part of all the ministries. We come to church every Sunday.

We're on Bible study virtual on Tuesdays. Some of us come to WCW women's Bible study on Mondays. And we have all this information, but we are not applying it to our lives. What good what good is having the information in your head if you're not going to do it? >> And that is that is a big problem.

I I know I I had that problem for years. I read so many I'm a I'm a reader, y'all. I read so many books and when I finished the book, I would feel so accomplished but wasn't DOING NOTHING THAT THE BOOK WAS telling me to do, y'all. So we really have to move from just getting information to actually taking the information, writing it down, internalizing it, internalizing it and help making the connection on, okay, I just read about this, but how am I going to put this into play in my life?

What am I? And that means sometimes you got to read through your book slow. If you haven't read through this book, get the book and read through it slow so you can get every piece of it in your heart so that you can have an obedient heart and operate in radical obedience.

Radical obedience. That means when you don't understand why God is telling you to do it. >> Amen. >> Something shared. >> Amen. So, um, I was sitting in my seat. Normally, I get up and just talk, but I just thank God. I thank God for Re Dr. Bobby because I did do the three-day as the first time last summer, dry fast and then I've done it um every quarter since.

But this time there was a huge shift. So I was going to withdraw from my class on Monday missions class like God I just come out of the wheelchair walking canes. How am I going to go on missions? Where am I really going? And then I was going to withdraw from the life after loss on Thursday.

And Holy Spirit said, "No, you're not going to do that. You gonna go to both of those classes this week." And I went to both of them. Little did I know was that it was meant for me to be there because missions is not just abroad. Missions is right here. >> And so even when I do active things here, that's missions, right?

So Thursday I was going to withdraw from the life after loss because I took the class for my friend who lost her husband. I said, "Well, I'll take it with you." They're doing this class. She texted me the night before Wednesday night this week and said, "I'm not ready."

And so I was going to withdraw. I didn't. And I thank God that I didn't because it was meant for me to be in both of them because I received another call. And so I'm on page 21 and 22. It says, "Where are you going? The Lord has said to Abram, leave your native country, your relatives, your fathers, your family, and go to a land that will show you."

Genesis 12:1. Well, I left my native country and where I was and where I was comfortable. And it was sort of like we was locked out of that space. And so I had a phone call and the person said, "No, you go such and such." I said, "No, I go to First Baptist Church of Glenn Arden."

And um she said, "Yeah, but I know such no I go to First Baptist Church of Glenn Arden." Now, this wasn't even 48 hours ago. I said, "Okay, God, you had me in that in this book." Because even Mary when she left her country, she did she she did have some questions.

She had a show. She had questions. We have questions. But me leaving and being where I am right now, I know that I'm in my set place. Right? So on the bottom of 22, I always tell my DDS sisters, my queens, sister, cuz I needed spiritual women in my life, y'all.

[laughter] I took all three. So at the bottom of that page, it says, "Trust in the Lord, Darthothy." And I put my name in there with all your heart, Darthy. Don't depend on your own understanding, Dorothy. Seek his will, Darthy. And all you do and he will show you which path to take.

And it talks on that page about how being with Jesus says if if we could hold on to reality that with Jesus is a journey, not a destination. Amen. >> It's not a destination. >> Amen. >> That stuck with me. It's not a destination. >> Amen. >> And so I got to trust them and be consistently consistent fasting and praying.

January when they're fasting. Usually I tell Miss Sherry where I'm going. She said, "Where you going at girl?" Normally I invite them. I invite nobody. It was me and God. Fast and God. Amen. Thank you, Miss Dorothy. >> Miss Dory says she DID ALL THE GROUPS. ALL THE GROUPS. >> ALL THE ALL THE SISTERS.

AMEN. >> Her community going to be tight. She's making sure of that. [laughter] >> Amen. Now, one of our um leader of the fa Well, one of our leaders of the family life department IS HERE WITH US TODAY. REVEREND [screaming] BEN. HEY, RE. >> Reverend Beam, I I got a question that I want I want to ask you.

I want to ask you a question about ABOUT OBEDIENCE. JUST TO GIVE just for some encouragement, give us what is one of your go-to scriptures. If you were like fearful about being obedient to something that God has called you to do, what is like a go-to scripture that you could give us that we can meditate on, that we can all take with us to memorize?

Cuz we going to leave here WITH SOME HOMEWORK TODAY, Y'ALL. OKAY? [laughter] that we can take with us and like keep it in our heart when we are feeling fearful or when we have hesitation, when we are being disobedient to what God is calling us to do. Now, Anna, I'm I should get her.

I should get her, but I'm going to get her later. But first of all, I want to say that this discussion has been incredible. Even though even though um Pastor Brenda could not be with us, God works all things. You said it earlier, all things work together for good.

And he gives us exactly what we stand in need of. No matter what the situation, I think this is a practical example of how when things don't work out and when things don't go the way you think they ought to go, God has a plan and we should embrace that plan.

That's just incredible. So, I'm just so grateful for what God did today. But listen, when I'm fearful, my father, who my parents are both deceased, but when I was a little girl about 10 years old, my father, we were we were away on a trip and I went, he took me out on the balcony and he said to me, "Whatever you go through in life, I want you to remember Psalm 121.

I lift my eyes into the heels >> which comes my help. My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth. So whatever you're afraid of, whatever grips you with fear, whatever challenge you, lift your eyes into the heels, from which comes your help. Your help certainly comes from the Lord cuz he made heaven and earth.

And if he made heaven and earth, God knows he can handle your fearful situation. So, I want you to be encouraged in that scripture in Psalms 121. Amen. >> Amen. >> Thank you, Rev. >> That was so awesome. >> Thank you, Reverend Bab. Okay, Reverend Bab, I don't want you to go nowhere.

Don't go too far, but does anybody have any last thoughts up here? >> Um, >> that's how it went by so fast. >> Oh, we got this benediction. Oh, I um I think one of my takeaways and I just I remember where I was when I started reading this chapter when I was reading this book last year that messed me up and I wanted to text her and be like, "Girl, you get on my nerves so bad is the um the cost of obedience >> because I do think that sometimes we forget that our yes is going to cost us something."

And I love how she says if you just, you know, twostep over to page 43. Um, and kind of at the bottom it says, uh, what will it cost me to follow God's lead? Is it worth everything I will lose? No matter where we are on the journey, the answers will mostly be the same.

What will it cost our life? >> Is it worth it? Absolutely. And I think sometimes some of our willingness in being disobedient or even compromising in our obedience is because we're not willing to pay the cost. And I I think what happened I remember I was in PJs.

Shout out to the PJ people. I love me the PJs. The coffee place child. But I remember sitting in PJs being real snotty cuz I couldn't move past that. And the thing that the Lord just kept flashing in my mind was Calvary and how this is what Christ did for me.

So when I measure it up what he's asking me to be obedient in it as it's as if and when I'm saying no to it, I'm shaming the cross. I'm shaming Calvary. Tam, I want you to be obedient here. Tam, I'm asking you to trust me here. Tam, I'm asking you to do X, Y, and Z.

And every time I hesitate, every time I delay, every time I compromise, every time I'm just like, uh, Lord, get somebody else to do it. I'm shaming Calvary. I'm shaming the cross. So, I think what obedience in reading that that chap and just the whole book is, as you said, it it's just like a Costco bag of nuggets.

It's just so many great practical takeaways. I think one of those things in particularly in being obedient is every single time that you disobey me, no matter how big or how small, because it's still disobedience, right? But it just really put it it it just re it shapeshifted the weight of Calvary for me.

So I think something that that has helped me and knowing that every time I compromise the cost is going to be greater than what I want to pay. So why why not be ob and honor I love how you said it um earlier not too long ago of just being obedient regardless of how you feel regardless if it makes sense to you because even and and and mainly because your obedience real life real talk most of the time don't have nothing to do with you >> like we'll be messing up the ripple effects of what God is trying to do through us >> because we so pressed to see it on this side >> but even if my obedience doesn't it happens for the TAM that's 50 years from now or it happens for somebody else.

We have to just kind of get out of this well I don't want to be obedient because how it's impacting me or what it's doing to me. So thinking of the the ripple effects of that when I'm disobedient or when I want to compromise the weight of that for me.

So that was a takeaway for me. >> Amen. Go ahead. >> Um that was good. Um, I think my biggest takeaway is, um, and it's along what Anna was saying. It's along the lines of what Anna was saying earlier, how she talked about we have such a hard time relinquishing control and all the things that um, hinder us from um, being completely obedient to God, control, doubt, fear.

And in the book, Brenda talks about um, God recognizes um, that we we're going to need some assistance in letting go. and she says um the truth of life is that in everything there is a need for God. We even need God to follow God. >> Um and that's on page seven.

But um I just think it's important as we are on this journey u for obedience like God is there. Like I think we we need to rely on him and realize like he ain't out there asking us to do it by ourselves. He's right there. Um, and so take advantage of having the Holy Spirit right there with you on this journey of obedience. >> Amen.

That's good. Okay. Um, so I had I had just a few two little ones. Um, they're both on page 160 um, of the book and she talks about the little decisions or the little yeses like I like to call them. Um, because sometimes we get intimidated by the big yes.

And sometimes God is not asking us for a big yes. God is asking us for a little yes. And it's those little yeses of obedience that allow us to continue to build our character and be and become more Christlike. And so I don't want us to miss the importance of the little things, obeying God in the little things.

Pastor has been preaching about our Francis list. That's a form of obedience. praying for our friends, our relatives, our acquaintances, neighbors, co-workers, or classmates, enemies, and strangers. Like, it's it's paying attention to the little things because sometimes it's those little things that that trip us up. And so, um the last sorry, the last thing that I wanted to share was um and I find myself in this too is doing all of the things and I'm pouring out more than I'm allowed to be poured into.

And so sometimes we have seasons in life where God is causing us to just sit still. So kind of talked about it to just sit still. And then in those moments, that's when God can really pour into us and refill us and give us those things that we need so that we know what direction to walk in or what path to take. >> Amen.

Now, this last comment must be really good. Chiron, you got a really good one. >> Oh, okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. [laughter] So, um, I don't have the book in front of me, but one of my takeaways from the book was when she spoke of when you're being disobedient and you're saying no to God, that's impacting others. >> And what we don't realize is that just because I said no, who else am I impacting because I said no? >> So, we got to stop and think about what are we doing to others out there?

How are we impacting hurting others? How are we being disobedient to something that they should have gotten from you? So, that was my biggest takeaway because I was like, "Wow, I never thought about it like that. That I'm really impacting somebody else by being disobedient to God." >> Yeah.

Amen. Thank you for sharing that, Chiron. All right. So, I just want us to take a moment. I know earlier I asked you guys to think of one thing that you have been being disobedient to what God has called you to. Did anybody think of a thing? Did anybody y'all thought of a thing?

All right. So, we're gonna all stand up and we're going to take a few moments to repent for being disobedient to what God has called us to do. We're going to take a few minutes, right? Because like we said, somebody's life is depending on you being obedient. >> Somebody's life is dependent on it.

So, we want to ask God to forgive us, to forgive us for not doing what he has called us to do. And I'm going to pray that he would give us a boldness to step forth in all that he has purposed for us to do. So first we want to repent, get our heart in the right place so that we can be obedient to God.

And then we want to move with purpose with o immediate obedience even in the small things. So let's just take a moment and if you're online you do this too. Just take a moment to yourself. We can open up and pray out loud to the Lord for those things that we have been disobedient that he has been calling us to.

Now, Father, Father, we pray that you would forgive us, Lord. Forgive us, Father, for every area of our lives that we have been disobedient. Lord, I pray that you would forgive us for not trusting you. I pray that you would forgive us for putting ourselves in the God seat and pushing you over.

Father, we know what you've called us to. We know the things that you have spoken to our hearts that you have purposed us to do. So, Father, first first we repent. We ask for your forgiveness, Lord. FOR YOUR FORGIVENESS FOR delaying what it is that you would have us to do.

Father, we ask that you we are grateful, Father, that you are the God of a second chance. SO WE KNOW THAT JUST BECAUSE we were o disobedient then that you have not counted us out. So Lord, we vow today, Father, to turn a new leaf, Lord, to turn away from our former behavior, God.

And we purpose to walk in boldness and to walk in obedience, but we know we can't do it without you. So Lord, I pray that as ((music playing)) each of us move with an obedient heart that you would walk close with us. I pray God that we would draw nigh to you because your word said if we draw near to you that you will draw near to us.

So I pray that we would increase our time spent with you. Increase our devotion time. Increase our time studying scripture. Increase our time communing with you, Lord, so that we can know you more intimately. And Father, I believe as we walk intimately with you that our trust would increase, Father, ((music playing)) that our faith in you would increase, Lord.

That as we see you work step by step by step, as we walk in obedience, which doesn't mean it'll always be easy, but we know it will always be worth it. So I pray that as we walk step by step in obedience to you that we would have a boldness to affect our communities, to affect our families, to affect our co-workers.

Father God, I pray that we would be a light to everyone we come in contact with. We thank you, Father God, for all that you are going to do through us. Thank you for choosing us. You could choose anybody, but you have chosen us to do that specific thing that you've called us to, and we are honored by that, Father.

So, we're going to step in obedience, and we are going to operate and move with an obedient heart. It's in Jesus' name that we pray and give you thanks. Amen. Can somebody say amen and give the Lord a great shout? Hallelujah. Hallelujah. All right. Now, you may be in here and you may have just come with a friend or you came here because you thought it would be a good time or you wanted to see Pastor Brenda Palmer.

And maybe you came to in this room today, but you've never given your heart to Christ. Or maybe you're in this room and you are in a backsliden state where you have walked far away from Christ. Like I said y'all, he's a God of a second chance and he's just waiting for you to get your life right with him.

So if that is you, can you slip your hand up? I'm going to say four areas. If you've never given your heart to Christ, if you've given your heart to Christ and you've walked away from him and aren't walking as closely with him, if you don't know if you have relationship with him, if you don't know if you're saved or not, if you don't know if when you leave this earth if you will go to heaven or hell, we want to make sure you have assurance today.

Or if you need a CHURCH HOME, Y'ALL, THIS A GREAT CHURCH HOME TO BE a part of, ((music playing)) right? If if you fall in any four of those categories, can you slip your hand up? All right, it look like we all in here saved Lady [screaming] Lord walking with Jesus.
