((music playing)) >> ((music playing)) >> Hello, good morning, good afternoon, and good evening, and welcome to the First Baptist Church of Glen Lardan International. I'm your humble, grateful, and highly favored host, Regginal Ez Jr., and I have the pleasure of serving today at our online worship experience. family.

I serve as a young adult director here and today is our remix Sunday. Family, listen now. You know, I'm never here alone. I'm never here by myself. I have the incomparable, the the the the oh so wonderful brother Anthony Jones. [laughter] Oh, family. Good morning. I'm I'm caught up in the introduction, my brother.

It's good to see it's good to be with you, man. >> It's good to see you, man. Thank you for allowing me to sit with the young folk on this remix Sunday. Listen family, do what we ask you to do. Put in the chat where you are joining us from around the world.

Our pastor, our our young adult director, all we all want to greet you. Our online digital disciples are waiting to to greet you. And share this link with somebody that needs to get a word today. There is a word in the house. >> It it it's a word in the house.

Yes, sir. But before we get carried away, let's run it back to what happened last week. Yes, sir. ((music playing)) >> I welcome >> into his. >> Oh, we welcome you, Jesus. ((music playing)) >> into his brokenness. you desire. >> You are ((music playing)) >> in the praises >> the praises [singing] of the Lord. >> So we lift up.

So here's the thing. You want to be a church that's filled with people using their gifts. I don't know what FPCG is going to be 20 years from now. ((music playing)) Right? I pray for it. It's God's doing powerful things. He's doing amazing things. But I don't know the future.

I'm not a prophet. I'm not the son of a prophet. And I work at a nonprofit organization. So, I don't know. But here's what I do know. When it's filled with people who are finding and using their gifts for God's glory, their good, and the good of others, that it's going to glorify God in exceeding abundant ways beyond all that we could ask or think to God's glory in the church.

Dr. Ed Stzer gave us a word, engaging all of God's people in his mission. Listen, family, you can hear that message in its entirety. And I implore you to go to fbcglenard.org/memesages and hear that word. That was a great word we had last week. >> That was a powerful word.

And I think one of the one of the points that I took away is that we all have gifts. >> How about that? >> You got a gift. Your grandma got a gift. Your auntie got a gift. Your uncle, your cousin. We all have gifts. >> Well, you heard it first. >> That'll preach >> that. >> You just preached it. >> You just preached that, sir.

And it's and how we use the gift in the kingdom like to advance what God has called us to do. Now listen, >> that's going to tie right on in. I'm going to leave it right there. >> Yeah, we >> I ain't going to say nothing right >> right there. >> And we want to give him all the glory >> cuz it all belongs to him. >> Point all everything. >> Listen, where the people checking in from?

Cuz they are they are heeding the call. >> Yes, they are. So listen, so shout out to Australia, Jamaica, Bermuda, Vietnam, South Africa. Okay, let's go to the US. >> Well, listen, you can't forget about the people now checking in. They Liberia, hello. Good afternoon. >> My bad.

United Kingdom, too. [laughter] >> Brazil, Zambia. We want to give all of our international uh uh family a a shout out today. Yes, we do. >> And we have 32 states that have checked in from around. To God be the glory. Yeah. To God be the glory from around the glory. >> Come continue to check in, family.

Listen, we are glad that you are here. Um we we love worshiping with you. Now, look here. Uh, brother Easy, tell me what are you looking forward to on this remix Sunday, my brother? >> Man, every time we have a remix Sunday, I just love seeing how our young people pastor believes that they are a generation of today, >> not just tomorrow, but today.

So, I I love seeing them lead us in worship, >> you know, preside over, you know, over our worship experience. Yeah. >> Bring usher us into the presence of the Lord. >> Yes. Using their gifts. >> Using their Come on. Come on. >> To advance the kingdom. tie it all back today. >> I'm just saying [laughter] it's it's just >> Yes.

How about you? What you looking forward to? >> Well, listen, all all of that, right? And but I I really love the zeal and the joy that they bring and and we are excited about how God uses um our our our young people. So, we're engaged. We're looking forward to uh worshiping today.

Family, as we get prepared for worship service, we will see you after in the post worship experience. Get your minds ready. >> Let's go to church. >> Praise the Lord, everybody. It's a great day to be in the house of the Lord because it's remix Sunday. Let's worship together.

You may you may now be seated. Family, I'm so glad that you have decided to worship with us today at First Baptist Church of Glenn Arden because this is not no ordinary or normal Sunday. Today is a very special remix Sunday with emerging generations. Yeah, that's great. That's amazing.

And the thing that's important about that is because in Psalms 145:4 it says, "One generation shall praise your works to another." And that's exactly what we do here at First Baptist. Isn't that amazing? >> Yeah. So if you're grateful, please just just clap your hands and just give a praise to those who have made a way for those coming.

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. To our elders, we honor you. To our youth, we empower you. Because this is not one divi. This is not a divided house, but this is one body in Christ. Amen. >> Yeah. Now, let's show our love to our online worshippers. Hey online, how you guys doing?

Say hi. Oh, you guys don't like online. Hello. Hey. All right. Let us know where you're watching from. Please rep your city, your state, or or you know, your country and just let us know so we can stay engaged with you. Amen. Before we go any further, it is now time for prayer and scripture.

((applause)) Hi, my name is Odin Winter and I'll be doing the scripture. Please turn your Bible to Proverbs 22:6. Train up a child in the way that he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it. The word of God is already blessed. >> Hi, I'm Isaiah Lee and I'll be saying the prayer.

Please bow your heads and close your eyes. Lord, let us have good days and let us praise God for all eternity. Let us pray him forever and ever and ever. Let us read our Bibles and let Pastor Jenkins lead a church so so little people can grow up to exactly like him and get their own churches.

Jesus name we pray. Amen. >> Amen. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Now, it is time to welcome all of our guests. On behalf of Pastor John K. Jenkins, Senior, and First Lady Trina Jenkins, our elders in our leadership, we welcome you here at First Baptist.

Our vision and mission statement is developing dynamic disciples through disciplehip, discipline, and duplication. Isn't that great and amazing? >> Yeah. So, if you'd like to learn more about our church, you can look at the screen right here and scan our QR code or you could go to our online website and you can learn more about our church.

Amen. >> Now, church, let's greet each other. >> We are the church. ((music playing)) [singing] >> No time. >> No time to shine our light for the king. ((music playing)) What a privilege and an honor to >> just ((music playing)) make his praise his praise [singing] glorious to every living. >> And we won't stop now. >> No. >> And we can't stop now. >> No.

((music playing)) Let's shout it out loud. Shout [singing] it out. Let's shout it out. We are making disciples ((music playing)) >> at every word of God that will never change. FPCG >> forever building changing. ((music playing)) >> We are one church. One church going in one direction. >> FCG we are making disciples. To learn more about these events, monthly gatherings, and all things FBCG, visit fbcinardan.org. ((music playing)) Praise the Lord, church. Amen. ((cheering)) Hello. Hello. Uh, my name is Asia Nicholson and I have the privilege of serving as your youth director here at the First Baptist Church of Glennard International with our emerging generations department.

And today, as it was stated, we are in Remix Sunday. And on Remix Sunday, we have an opportunity to worship with our youth, but we also have an opportunity to celebrate our youth. And today we're actually doing something new where we are also celebrating those who pour into and disciple our youth.

And so today we are celebrating at this 12 p.m. service one youth and one adult volunteer. And so first I would like to have Miss Ashley McMerry. And next we will have Mrs. Rebecca Holly from Girl Scout. [applause and cheering] Good afternoon First Baptist. My name is Ashley Mc Merry and today we will be recognizing Miles Mitchell for the character trait boldness.

Miles is a bronze honoral student at Walker Mill School. Today we are recognizing him for the character trait of boldness. He shows this through his faith, his actions, and his willingness to lead with confidence and compassion. Whether at school, church, or in the community, he consistently chooses to step forward, speak up, and live out his values, making him a powerful example of what bold leadership looks like at a young age.

For instance, throughout his time in the Alpha Youth Cohort here at FBCG, Miles consistently demonstrated boldness through active participation, thoughtful engagement, and confidence in expressing his ideas. He shows a strong understanding of the topics discussed discussed and frequently offer insight, encouragement and support to his peers. So today, Miles, we celebrate you for boldly leading with faith, confidence, and heart.

((cheering)) ((applause)) ((music playing)) >> ((applause)) ((music playing)) >> Good morning. Good afternoon. Re pastor Jenkins, first lady Trina. We want to thank you all so much for allowing the Girl Scout ministry to be here at First Baptist Church of Glenn Arden. I always love to boast about the Girl Scout ministry. We continue to still be the largest group in the metropolitan area with over 200 girls.

((applause)) But none of that is possible without having adult volunteers with adult volunteers. That is what helped make this ministry strive the way it does. So this afternoon we have an amazing volunteer that we want to recognize. Miss Anz Boys. ((applause)) Miss Anz has been with the Girl Scout ministry over a decade.

Even though she had boys, she have boys. She stepped into the road to help with the girls. She comes with such inspiration, such joy, and such delightfulness. Outside of the classroom, Miss Anes participate in a lot of activities. She went camping a weekend camp out. She gave over her nice little pillow top to sleep in a little one inch on a one-inch mattress for the weekend with overund some girls.

Hershey Park. She took the a trip to Hershey Park from sunset to sunrise. Miss Ares was in the park with us. And at the end of the day, she comes strutting like this and we all looking like, "Are you kidding this?" She has a lot of energy and this is also cookie season is which is brutal.

Miss Anaz comes with a wagon pulling down raining to pick up cookies for a troop. Not only did she put her cookies in the car. I look back she's coming back to go down the line and ask all the other leaders that's from the area. Don't she did not know them, but she was there to help serve.

And this is what we appreciate about Miss Anette. ((applause)) >> ((cheering)) >> Miss An and another profound moment, we have one of our senior Girl Scout leaders to pass. Miss Ones stepped into the role and say, "I would step in and I'll be a leader in this troop so I can keep the girls motivated to support them and also help them to deal with what was going on during that time."

And we so appreciate Miss Anes for that. ((cheering)) When you look at volunteering, the Miss Anz is a model individual to show you how to come with the joy, the passion and the desire and also the ministry of the leaders, the ministry of the church and also the Girl Scout ministry.

So I would like to say we thank you and we appreciate you for being amazing volunteer with the Girl Scout ministry. ((cheering)) >> ((applause)) >> If you want more information, they have tables out in the hallway. ((applause)) And a final note, volunteering does not come with a age. It come with a passion and a desire to serve.

Volunteers, we need you all. Thank you. ((applause)) >> I was say she talked about the age. Miss Ares is about to be 77 years old. Can we? And she's still serving you. You service don't have an age. 7727717. I don't care what seven you got. If you're willing to give God the praise and the glory for somebody who is pouring into their youth to the next generation, can we give God praise?

[applause and music] She didn't count a robbery saying, "I'm too old for this." She's still in the mix. We thank God for you. Amen. Y'all be blessed in the name of Jesus. >> Amen. Thank you. Can we just give it up one more time for the elders pouring it into the youth and the youth being poured into?

Isn't that great? ((applause)) Now it is giving time. Uhers, close them door. No, I'm playing. I'm playing. It's all right. [laughter] Here at First Baptist Church at Glenn Arden, you guys are such amazing and generous givers. Because of your giving, we're able to feed the hungry, help families in need, and even live stream this service all across the world, and do so much more.

So, we say thank you. We encourage you to give in a multitude of ways. You could go to fbcglenn.org/give. And you could give at any point during the service. If you have cash and a good check, we also encourage you to deposit. There's a seat in a seat back pocket in front of you.

There are envelopes where you could deposit those cashes and those checks and you could put it at the sanctuary exit as you're leaving the sanctuary. We also encourage you to mail your gifts to 300 three H help me. Help me God. Help. Let me take a second. Let me take a second. 3600 Bright Sea Road.

Amen. There we go. Let's go. Okay. Amen. I got it. Now, let us pray over the offerings. Heavenly Father, as we come before you today, God, we just thank you. We thank you for the chance and the opportunity, God, to give, God. Knowing that everything that we have in our pockets, God, is because of you, God.

So, what does it matter that we give a small portion back to you, we ask that you bless the gift and that you bless the giver, God, and allow it to be used for the advancement and development of your kingdom. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. Praise the Lord everybody.

Praise the Lord everybody. Don't praise me. Praise the Lord everybody. Hallelujah. Glory to your angels. It's a great day to be in the house of the Lord. Amen. Y'all, we have the wonderful Sunbeam choir in front of us. Y'all give it up for the Sunbeams. The babies. Praising God.

We got overflow. How many churches got overflow for the Sunbeam choir? The babies are in touch. Yes, God. All right, y'all. I want y'all to meet Cadence. Say hi, Kayen. And I want y'all to meet Jet. Say hi, Jet. All right, y'all. They have a message for y'all and they want to sing y'all a song.

We follow the faith and rule. What the law can do. What the law can ((music playing)) do. It's going to happen. Just let the wind make it through. He's going to move. He's going to move. ((music playing)) Can you imagine? We're going to the baby ((music playing)) room. What the looking do? What the looking do?

((music playing)) Anything is possible. Yeah. Anything ((music playing)) is possible. So who am I? Say who am I? ((music playing)) >> Who am I? You are more than able. >> You are more than able. >> Yeah.

[screaming] Come on y'all. Let's sing it together. >> You are more than able. We are moving ((music playing)) what the Lord can do. ((music playing)) Amen. Now it is time for the word of God. Family, remain standing or stand to your feet as we welcome the most amazing appointed articulate uh anointed I've run out of a words but Pastor John K.

Jac ((applause)) ((applause)) say amen for these young people. ((applause)) Father, thank you for the privilege of uh worshiping you today. We are grateful for your loving kindness, your tender mercies. We thank you for waking us up this morning and giving us a mind to be in the house of prayer. We pray that you would anoint the word today.

Let our hearts be open and receptive to receive. Allow your name to get the glory. Save somebody. Reclaim a backslider, an unsure person, unchurched person. Edify and strengthen the saints is our prayer. Not only do it here in this building, but around the world where this ministering is being viewed.

We pray in the name of the Lord Jesus that you get all of the glory and all of the honor in Jesus name. Amen. >> You can be seated. I don't know if y'all heard the young man say during the offering we were going to close the doors for the offering.

Did y'all hear that? That's funny. I want to take a moment and um thank you all. A couple of weeks ago, I mentioned that um I invited you to come and go with me to do a recording of a prayer time uh last Monday that um we were recording.

There's going to be a there was a recording at the Museum of the Bible for the National Day of Prayer that will be aired next year on NBC. And 700 of y'all signed up for that. ((applause)) And I want to thank all of you who went, those who signed up.

I'm very appreciative of those who uh participated only to discover beforehand that the museum, the auditorium in the museum only could accommodate 500 people and so I had to uninvite 200 of y'all. Let me thank those who understood and accepted the fact that I had to uninvite you.

Thank you so much. I appreciate it. All right, open your Bibles today. These young people are just blowing me away all day today. I'm so appreciative. A few weeks ago, uh actually this past week, I started a series during Tuesday night Bible study on purpose. So on Tuesday nights, I've been teaching on purpose.

How to discover and know your purpose and function in your purpose. Uh about 25 to 3,000 of you all participate and show up in our Bible study. Translate, don't clap. Translate. 7,000 of y'all don't participate. And it's okay. So, I'm going to bring since you don't come to Bible study, I'm bringing Bible study to you this morning.

So today I want to talk to you today about how to discover your purpose. >> Discovering your purpose. So some of this I covered last Tuesday in Bible study. This past Tuesday I talked about that. And I uh I want to take a portion of that teaching and do it here on Sunday morning because I believe even though only 3,000 or so of you all got it, I need the rest of y'all to get it.

Look at your neighbor. said he talking about you. Matter of fact, look at them eyeball to eyeball. Say, since you didn't come to Bible study, >> I need you to get Bible study. Tell them, I need you to get your purpose. >> If you don't know your purpose, let me tell you something.

If you don't know what your purpose is and you're not functioning in your purpose, when something is used in a way other than for what it is created for, it's abuse. >> Yeah. Let me let that sink in for a minute. Some of y'all are not functioning in your purpose.

You're not you're not functioning. You're not flowing in why God created you. And my assignment as the pastor is to try to help you discover what your purpose is. So what I want to do today is give you five ways, five indicators. I want you to take notes.

Look at your neighbor. Say you need to take notes. Put it in your phone. Put it on your iPad. Write it down on a piece of paper. Put it in your Bible. Put it somewhere so that you can recognize this. Now, some of y'all um need to understand your vocation is not your purpose. >> What you do on your job does not necessarily mean that that's what your purpose is. >> Amen. >> I can tell this is going to be a little tough one right here today.

It's going to be a tough service. It's okay. Y'all might as well get on board cuz this is what I'm going to be talking about today. And you may not feel you need it today, but I want you to take notes because at some point in your journey, you're going to want to know what your purpose is. >> And the part of what this my assignment is is to try to help you recognize what the indicators of your purpose are.

How do you know what your purpose is? So that's what I want to spend this time doing. And I want to take a look at the life of Nehemiah. There's a gentleman in the scriptures named G Nehemiah who had an assignment. He had a purpose for his life and that purpose came up.

And I want us to walk I want I want to walk through some things that were indicators of what his purpose was that I know will also uh play a role in you discovering what your purpose is. That's that's what I want to spend the next see it's 12:32 now.

So I probably I should be finished by 3:30 or 4:00. Uh, go ahead. Tell your tell your neighbor. I'm going to stick with the pastor till he gets finished. Go ahead, tell them. Are y'all going to stick with me till I get done? I'm asking cuz y'all always talking about take your time, pastor.

Take your time. So, I'm going to find out if y'all really mean it today. I'm gonna find out today. All right. So, I just want to talk about Nehemiah. Nehemiah was a cupbearer to the king. He was living in a foreign country. He was living in another nation from other than his home.

Other than when he was born, he was living in a different nation. And he was a cup bearer. And the cup bearer's job was this is to drink from the king's picture. He's to drink what the king is going to drink and eat the food that the king was going to eat before the king in the event that it was poisoned that he would die instead of the king. >> I'm not applying for that job. >> Amen. >> So that's what I want to talk about today.

That's Nehemiah's job. And in the book of Nehemiah, if you have your Bibles, you can turn to chapter one of Nehemiah. And we see his um we can see through his story the things that would play a role in you understanding what your purpose is. Nehemiah chapter one.

So I got five things. Here's number one. Nehemiah knew what his job and assignment was is because point by the way all of these points begin with a P. >> All right. said, "Go ahead, pastor. I appreciate you eliterating these things. They all begin with a P. I have worked profusely to be able to present these points with a P that you might be able to perpetrate them in the production of what your future job might be." >> Yeah.

What your future position might be. Who said that? Thank you, Miss Kim. Position. The first thing Nehemiah had that was an indication was he had passion. Say that. >> Whatever God created you to do, he gives you a passion, a burden. You can't let it go. If you can let if you can lay it, set it down and walk away from it, that ain't it.

If you can forget about it, that ain't it. Whatever it is that God called you to do, it keeps coming back. It keeps beckoning you. It keeps calling on you. It keeps it keeps coming to you. It keeps coming up. You It's something that you you you want to see change.

You you have to see it change. You are stressed out about it. You are you you you don't like the fact of what something that you see that you want to do something about to see it change. and and Nehemiah is in another country and he gets word back about his home his home country his home city of Jerusalem and in chapter 1:es 3 and 4 it says this and they said to me this is chapter 1:3 and they said to me the survivors who are left from the cap captivity in the province are there in great distress and reproach the wall of Jerusalem is also broken down and its gates gates are burned with fire.

So it was when I heard these words that I sat down and wept. Do y'all see that right there? Nehemiah cried about what he saw. Whatever your burden is, it'll make you cry. He sat down and wept and mourned for many days. I was fasting and praying before the God of heaven.

So he he was he was he was stressed about this thing. He whatever God's called you to do, it'll it'll be something that that beckons you to make a change, to do something about it. Chapter 2:1 17 says, "Then I said to them, you see the distress that we are in, how Jerusalem lies waste and its gates are burned with fire.

Come and let us build the wall of Jerusalem that we may no longer be a reproach." Do y'all see that? So the first point that I'm making here today is that God gives you a passion about something. He want he wants you to he he puts it in your heart to want to see a change.

Now that manifested for me as a teenager when I was a teenager, 14 years of age. I was 14 and I I I would be in church with my peers. I sang in the Sunbeam choir. I was a Urser. Went to Sunday school. And while the pastor was preaching, I could understand what he was saying.

But my peers were laughing, joking, sleeping, passing notes to each other. And I felt a burden. I was passionate that I felt that I could take the message that the pastor was preaching and I could translate it into a way that my peers could understand. That's how my call to the ministry started that I felt I could do something to help them understand what the pastor was saying.

And so I'd be in church hearing the message and then later on I'd talk to them. We'd be walking home from school. We'd be stand sitting on the corner. We'd be playing football or whatever we were doing. And I I I felt that I could take the message that I understood what the pastor was saying and I could communicate it.

So I went to the my p our pastor of this church. This is the church I grew up in. I went to the pastor and I said, "I feel that God's called me to preach." He said, "You're a little young right now, but keep praying about it." And I kept praying about it.

Then I went back to him and I said, "I feel that this is what I want to do with my life. I want to be a pastor. I want to be a preacher, a minister. It's what I want to do." And so he said, "You're a little young right now.

Keep praying about it." And I kept praying. I went back to him. He said, "Okay, we'll do something about it next year." This is how I knew that this is this is I can't believe I did this, but this is what I did. I said to the pastor, "I can't wait till next year." >> How can a 14-year-old kid tell the pastor, "I can't wait only when you have a call from God."

((applause)) What is it that's in you that just won't go away? What is it that's got you jumping and and and driving to do something about it? That's that's that's it. Somebody say passion. >> Now, they criticized my pastor for licensing me. They they they they talked among themselves and said that Pastor Johnson down there is licensing children.

I was 15 years of age and he licensed me 15. He licensed me at 15. December the 23rd, 1973. >> ((applause)) >> Then after those pastors around the community talked about him, they called me and asked me to come preach at their youth services. ((applause)) >> Say amen. Somebody say no.

Don't Don't y'all hate on me cuz I started young. I don't know what you was doing at 15, but don't be mad at me because I was because I found my call and my assignment. Go ahead, look at your neighbor. Say, he's he he was only 15 when I got I I was 15 years of age. 15 years old.

Amen. >> I've been doing this thing for a long time. I've been preaching for 52 years. ((applause)) >> Amen. Don't get mad at me cuz you still don't know what you supposed to be doing. I think it's tragic for our kids to go through and some of them graduate from high school and some of them graduate from college and still don't know what they're supposed to be doing.

Parents, it's your job to try to help children discern what God has put in them. ((applause)) That's your job. Your job is to help them discover how God has wired them, what gifts God has put inside of them. That's your job to help them discover that. But I think it's tragic that so many kids are going through school, graduating, and still don't know what they want to do with their life.

Amen. >> So, uh, I I just want to encourage on this youth Sunday, Remix Sunday. Go ahead, find a parent somewhere and say, "Help your kids find out what they supposed to be doing." Matter of fact, find a parent and tell them they're supposed to be doing what they what they've been wired for.

They're not supposed to be fulfilling what you failed to do as an adult. ((applause)) I think too many parents are trying to live out their life through their kids. Oh, y'all shouldn't have came to this service. I might not be finished till 5:00 right now. I feel I feel an anointing coming upon me right now.

Amen. So, so it's Somebody say passion. Passion. Nehemiah had a passion and you will have a passion. God will burden you. God will give you uh a burden about it. Here's number two. That's there's number one, the passion. You have a passion. Here's number two is possibilities. >> Possibilities. >> Somebody say possibilities. >> Probably a better word is opportunity.

That's that might be a better word to use, but it don't begin with a P. Chapter 2 verse 1-6. Chapter 2 of Nehemiah, beginning at verse one, 1-6. And it came to pass in the month of Nissan in the 20th year of King Ex Artisexus when wine was before him that I took the wine and gave it to the king.

Now I had never been sad in his presence before. Therefore the king said to me, "Why is your face sad since you are not sick? This is nothing but sorrow of heart." So I became dreadfully afraid and said to the king, "May the king live forever. Why should my face not be sad when the city, the place of my father's tombs, lies waste and its gates are burned with fire?"

Then the king said to me, "What do you request?" So I prayed to the God of heaven. And I said to the king, "If it pleases the king, and if your servant has found favor in your sight, I pray that you send me to Judah, to the city of my father's tombs, that I may rebuild it."

Then the king said to me, the queen also sitting beside him, "How long will your journey be? And when will you return?" So it pleased the king, to send me, and I set him a time. Y'all get the You'll get the picture. So here he is in another foreign city, a foreign place.

And the city where his where he came from, the city has been burned down. The walls have been destroyed. It's been invaded. It's been taken over. They've gone through war. They've gone through challenges. They've gone through that. And now he has a burden. And he goes and the king sees him sad one day.

He said, "Why are you looking so sad?" He said, "Because my my home is in distraught." And the king said, "Well, how long what do you need? How long you going to be gone? What do you need to do? Uh, the king gave him time off. >> Y'all y'all missed a great spot to say amen.

The king blessed him and gave him time off. Somebody say opportunity. >> Opportunity. >> Whatever God wants you to do, he's going to give you an opportunity. He's going to make it possible for you to do it. >> Amen. He's going to give he's going to make it possible for you to carry it out.

He's going to give you the opportunity. If you say, if you think you've been called to preach, but ain't nobody calling you to preach, that is not your call. ((cheering)) >> I want y'all to get that. People tell me they've been called to preach. I go, "Where have you preached?

If you haven't preached anywhere, that is not where God is." You don't need a license to preach. >> I need y'all to get this in your head. If God's called you to preach, he'll open up a door of opportunity. If God's called you to do something, he will open up the door of opportunity for you to do it.

((applause)) >> You don't need a license to do a preach. You don't you don't need a license for that. And some of you need to get get yourself prepared. >> I I need to say this cuz some of y'all just sitting around doing nothing, waiting for the opportunity. If God's given you a burden and that burden requires you to be licensed or equipped or certified, do what it takes for you to be able to get licensed or certified.

Don't wait until the opportunity comes. Go ahead and prepare yourself. So when the opportunity comes, go on and preach, pastor. So when the opportunity comes, you will be capable and able to do it. >> Somebody look at your neighbor. Say he preaching better than you saying amen. Amen. >> Opportunity.

Say opportunity. >> Opportunity. >> God gave him, the king gave him the opportunity. Gave him leave, time off. Uh God gave it to him. Here's number three. Provision. >> I should have got a few more amens on that point right there. God will give you the resources, the provisions.

He'll provide whatever you need. Chapter 2:es 6-9. I love this. I love this verse right here. Chapter 2 verse 6-9. I love it. Then the king, verse 6, then the king said to me, the queen also sitting beside him, "How long will your journey be? And when will you return?"

So it pleased the king to send me. And I set him a time. Furthermore, I said to the king, "If it pleases the king, let letters be given to me for the governors of the region beyond the river, that they must permit me to pass through all till I come to Judah."

Stop. Stick a pen right there. He gave him a passport. >> He made provisions by giving him a passport so he could pass through. That's what he's asking him for. Then verse number nine, um well, let's see. Um verse eight. And a letter in a letter to Asa the keepeth the king's forest that he must give me timber to make beams for the gates of the citadel which pertains to the temple for the city wall and for the house that I will occupy.

Oh y'all missed a great sheep. Are y'all awake? Hello >> [laughter] >> He asked the king for some wood to build a house so he can have a house to live in while he's building the walls around the the city. >> And the king granted them to me according to the good hand of my God upon me. >> When God put his hands upon you, he will help people give you the resources you need. >> ((applause)) >> Somebody look at your neighbor and say, "Provision." >> Now, I I said this at the 10:00 service.

I didn't say it at 8 cuz I I didn't think about it till 8, but I said it at 10:00 that when we were building this building right here, this building right here, we needed you going to build anything in Prince George's County, you need a permit. >> And we needed a permit.

And it was taking us a long time. Looks like it's getting P. And then at the time the county executive at the time was exiting leaving office with a new county executive coming in. New county executive being voted in the old one leaving out and in the office of the county executive were people saying well our term is about to end.

We're going to leave all these permits request. We're gonna leave these permits for the next person to do, the next county executive to do. So the lady working in the office had a stack of permits. >> So she's walking with these permits and and this county executive said, "No, we're not going to be able to do it.

We'll leave it for the next person." So while she was turning around, take the the permits back to where they going to go since it's going to be for the next uh county person to deal with. One of them fell off fell off on the floor and she picked it up and said, "Oh, this is First Baptist Church of Glenn Arden.

That's my church. Let me take this, too. ((applause)) Come on, somebody. ((cheering)) Won't Won't Won't Won't Won't Won't Won't Won't Won't Won't Won't Won't Won't Won't Won't Won't Won't Won't Won't Won't Won't Won't Won't Won't Won't Won't Won't Won't Won't Won't Won't God do it? Won't God make it a way for you?

Won't he fix it for you?" Can I get an amen right there from anybody? He is a way maker. ((cheering)) Somebody say provision. >> Provision. >> Whatever you need to have for you to do what you need to do, God will provide. Somebody high five your neighbor and say, "Thank God.

He's a God that will provide." ((applause)) >> I would give God a shout right there. That's >> I'm praising the Lord. He's a way. He's a He is a way maker. ((applause)) >> He's a way maker and he'll do it for you. And you Why am I telling you this?

I'm telling you that what he did for this house, he'll do it for your house. >> What he did what he what he will do, he will make a way. ((cheering)) >> Yes, sir. ((applause)) >> Absolutely. >> Absolutely. >> Whatever Whatever you need to happen. >> Yes, sir. Hallelujah. >> Hallelujah. >> Amen.

I feel like shouting right there. >> Praise God. Who Who is that for? I'm not This is for somebody here to get a hold of this. It might not be there now, but by the time you need it, God will have it in place. >> By the time you need it to come pass, by the time you need the door to open, by the time you need the prayer answered, by the time you need the resources to be present, God will make it work out.

((cheering)) Sir, >> what was number one? >> Number two, >> number three. >> Here's number four. Player haters. >> I I hit a string. I I hit a tune right there. I strung a chord. Player haters are a sign that you're headed in the right direction. ((cheering)) >> How many of y'all know hell will not sit quiet while you fulfill God's purposes for your life?

((cheering)) >> Hell will wake up and say if he get that they going he going to make some damage. If he if this occurs, he's going to he's going to do damage to us. Don't Don't you know the devil will not let you do that? The devil doesn't want to see it come to pass.

He does not want you to reach and fulfill what God has for you to fulfill. Who am I preaching to today? >> Yes, sir. ((applause)) Nehemiah had a bunch of player haters. >> Instead of you getting upset about people hating on you, thank God it's an indication that you must be headed in the right direction.

((applause)) >> That's it, sir. I've learned to shout when I get player haters. I run around the building. I dance when I get player haters. >> Yes. ((cheering)) >> Put put those verses back up. There's a whole bunch of verses. Chapter 2 verse 10. Chapter 2 verse 19. Chapter 4:es 1-3.

Chapter 4:es 4-8. And chapter 6:es 1-8. >> 7-8 4. Yeah. I'm I'mma read all these verses. I want y'all to see these player haters. Chapter 2:10. When Sam Ballad the Horonite and Tobaya the Ammonite official heard of it, they were deeply disturbed that a man had come to seek the well-being of the children of Israel. >> Verse 10, that was verse 10.

Verse 19. When Sam Ballad the Horonite, Tobaya the Ammonite official, and Gisham the Arab heard of it, they laughed at us and despised us and said, "What is this thing that you are doing? Will you rebel against the thing? Against the king, y'all. Oh, y'all missed this spot right there."

They laughed at us. They despised us. People laughing at you, hating on you. The only reason they're hating on you is cuz you have found your purpose. >> ((cheering)) >> cuz you found your purpose and you're doing it and they didn't find their purpose and they ain't doing anything.

Their life ain't going nowhere but your life is going somewhere. >> Chapter 4:es 1 through3. But it it so happened when Sam Ballot heard that we were rebuilding the wall that he was furious and very indignant and mocked the Jews. And he spoke before his brethren and the army of Samaria and said, "What are these feeble Jews doing?

Will they fortify themselves? Will they offer sacrifices? Will they complete it in the day? Will they revive the stones from the heaps of rubbish? Stones that are burnt?" Let me put that in today's language. What are these feeble negroes doing? Don't you know they don't think you can do anything? >> Don't you know that they counting you out?

They are reducing you to nothing. But they don't know the God that you're serving. ((applause)) >> Amen. Somebody shout, "Amen." They don't know what God is on my side. They don't know what things God is working out for me. They might count me out, but God is not counting me out.

Jesus is working it out for me. ((cheering)) ((applause)) >> Play of haters. ((cheering)) >> Now Tobaya, verse three, the the Ammonite was beside him and he said, "Whatever they build, if even a fox goes up on it, he will break down their stone wall." >> They've declared that what you building won't last.

They're saying it won't last. When I became the pastor of First Baptist Church of Lenard in in 1989, 1989, they said I wouldn't last long. I'm still here. ((applause)) Somebody say, "He's still here. Still preaching. Still building. Still changing lives. Still making a difference. They they said to Nehemiah, "Oh, the a fox can just walk over and blow it down."

That's what they they're saying. It won't it won't last long. I'm I haven't built we have built, let's see, we we left 3311. We we bought the heckers, built that out, paid that off, >> built a worship center. paid that off. Bought the empowerment center. Paid that off.

Built the community life center. ((cheering)) Paid that off. Somebody ought to help me shout. They thought we couldn't do it. But we not only built it, we paid it off. Somebody give God a shout. Player haters. ((music playing)) >> ((cheering)) >> Oh, I feel like shouting. I feel like dancing. They're angry.

They're furious. They're jealous. They're indignant. They are insulting. They are offensive. They're mocking us. They're talking about us. They think we won't last, won't accomplish anything. But look at us now. ((music playing)) Let me read this last verse. This is Nehemiah chapter 6:es 1-8. I'mma just let me finish here.

Now it happened when Sam Ballot Tobaya Gisham the Arab and the rest of our enemies heard that I had rebuilt the wall and that there were no breaks left in it. Though I at that time I had not hung the doors in the gates that Sam Ballot and Gisham sent to me saying, "Come, let us meet together among the villages in the plain of On No, but they thought to do me harm."

So I sent messages to them saying, "I am doing a great work so that I cannot come down. Why should the work cease while I leave it and come down to you? But they sent me this message four times and I answered them in the same manner. Then Sam Ballot sent his servant to me as before the fifth time with an open letter in his hand.

And it was written, it is reported among the nations in Gisham, saying that you and the Jews plan to rebel. Therefore, according to these rumors, you are rebuilding the wall that you may be their king. And you have also appointed prophets to proclaim concerning you at Jerusalem, saying, there is a king in Judah.

Now these matters will be reported to the king. So come therefore and let us consult together. Then I said to him, saying, "No such thing as you say are being done, but you invent them in your heart." I love it. I love the story. Come on, somebody. Y'all do y'all get the picture here? >> I like the way Nehemiah responded.

He said, "Oh no." >> Oh no. Y'all missed it. Oh no, I'm not coming to Oh no, no, I can't come down there. I'm too busy. I'm building a wall. Some of you got to learn to tell people, I ain't coming down and messing with you. I ain't got time to fool with you.

I'm doing what God created me to do, and I ain't messing with you. Somebody tell your neighbor, I can't mess with people trying to stop me from doing what it is God has empowered and called me to do. Oh no. Hell no. Somebody highfire your neighbor. Say, "Oh no."

Oh no. When when when the church became available, when pastor when the previous pastor died here, the the church decided to look at the sons of the church. 18 applied. 18 sons applied. and they narrowed it down to two, me and another person. Then they started making rumors about me >> that I had gotten a young girl.

I was pastoring in King George, Virginia, part-time at a church and and working my good government job. >> I was working my good government job. And by the way, let me see. Uh, I was working my good government job and I got called. They they called me. They started they started this lie.

Oh, they say uh he got a girl pregnant. And I did. It's true. This one right here. I got my wife pregnant. ((applause)) But they tried to start a lie and say that that I got some other girl pregnant, but it was her. Amen. Amen. >> ((applause)) >> I say that to tell you that the people will start lies on you.

((applause)) >> They going to try to get you fired. They're going to try to get you They going to try to embarrass you. They're going to try to hurt your name, your reputation. But no weapon formed against you can prosper. ((applause)) Come on, somebody. No weapon, no lie that they tell, no effort that they try to do, nothing.

When God has a purpose and has an assignment for you, you can do what God has called you to do. Stop. Oh no. Don't let what they say stop you from carrying out what God has for you. Say, "Oh no." Come on, somebody. Let's say, "Oh no." Let's make a song.

Oh no. Oh no. I ain't coming down. Oh no, I ain't stopping. Oh no, I'm not going to get defeated. Oh no, I'm not going to slow down. I'm going to do what God anointed me to do, called me to do, gave me a passion to do, gave me provisions to do, gave me possibilities and opportunity to do.

I ain't going to let no player hater stop me. Oh no. >> Oh no. Okay, I'm almost finished. >> Can I have Can I have five more minutes? >> I'm just trying to tell you. Uh, okay. Here's number five. I'm finished. This my last point. Y'all got my first point. >> What was it? >> Number two. >> Number three. >> Number four. >> Number five, >> partners.

God's going to raise up some partners. >> He's going to raise up some people to help you. ((cheering)) >> He's going to hang He's going to raise up some people that's going to walk alongside of you. >> And and that happens here in in uh uh chapter chapter 2:12 and chapter 4:6.

And he just kind of says it in passing. He doesn't make a big thing about it, but it's a very important deal because it says in chapter 2:12, "Then I arose in the night." It says verse 12, "Then I arose in the night and a I and a few men with me." >> Yes, sir. >> Y'all see that? >> Yes, sir. >> I told no one God had put in my heart to do at Jerusalem, nor was there any animal with me except the one on which I rode.

I want you to make note. He says, "I and a few men with You don't need a whole lot of people. That's right. >> But God will raise up somebody to walk alongside of you. >> Yeah. He he he raised up when we were building this building, he raised up that person that was in the county executive's office. >> We shouted at 10 cuz she was at the 10:00 service today. >> Yeah.

She was at the 10:00 service. I didn't know she was here. And and people start pointing. She's over there, pastor. She's over there. She was here. And we we kind of danced and celebrated. All I needed is one person to be in the right place at the right time.

((applause)) Somebody tell your neighbor, "All I need is one. I don't need a whole lot. I don't need a thousand. I don't need a hundred. I just need a few few people. ((applause)) God will raise up some partners for you. Verse chapter 4 verse 6. This is it. My last verse.

I'm finished. Verse six of chapter 4. So we built the wall and the entire wall was joined together up to half its height. For the people had a mind to work. >> I love that verse. He says, "We built the wall. >> We built >> and we had a mind to work.

God's going to raise up the resources and the people and the support you need. God's going to give you some partners that you need to be able to do what it is God has destined for you to do. Go ahead and give God a shout right there. You know what I want you to do?

I want you to shout for the people God's going to raise up for you. ((cheering)) >> Hallelujah. They might not be there yet, but they're going to be there when you need them. They going to be in the right place, at the right posture, at the right time, at the right season.

Hallelujah. God's got your back. God's looking at you and he is working it out. He's creating them.
