The Mindset of a Dreamer - Sunday Morning LIVE at Cornerstone Church - 8:30am - March 22th 2026
Transcript
((music playing)) >> Good morning. Welcome to the house of the Lord. My name is Michael ((music playing)) Fernandez and together we're going to be taught the word of God. Today is the day the Lord has made. We have chosen to rejoice, to be glad in it, to walk into his gates with Thanksgiving in our heart to ensure that the presence of God impacts, touch, and transforms our lives.
We're excited to be here. Thank you for joining Heggie Ministries. >> ((music playing)) >> Thank you for being a part of Cornerstone service. Regardless of where you are at, you are part of the family of what God is doing to reach the nations of the world. And we're so thankful that you've joined us today.
We encourage you to get your Bible ready. Get your favorite cup of coffee. Find a comfortable seat as we prepare for service. We're moments away from our lead pastor, Matt Heggie, continuing the sermon series Dreams and how those dreams lead us as actually it's a road map towards our destiny.
And so today we're going to be listening to part two of this sermon series. Today's message is the mindset of a dreamer. This is found in the book of Acts chapter two. Our focus text will be verses 17 through 21. If you missed last week's message, we encourage you to go to jhm.org and there you will find all of our previous sermon series including last week so that you can stay up to date with how we are growing and developing our relationship with the Lord.
We also want to celebrate the fact that last Thursday we had over 2,000 women come to celebrate the power of the Lord, community, fellowship. What a great time our ladies had with girls night out. Special guest, Christine Caine. This had been a highly anticipated event and boy did it deliver.
God moved in a special way and we want to celebrate the fact that God speaks, ministers, moves, and uses the women within our ministry, within our region. So thank you ladies for joining us. If you did not get a chance to be here, there's up and coming events that you can always be a part of.
So tread not. This there is an opportunity for you to continue to be involved in what God is doing to bless the nations of the world. Now, the way that we are able to take all the gospel to all the world in every generation is those that faithfully give and pray for this ministry.
If you would like to give ((music playing)) a gift today, we encourage you to scan the QR code. You can also go to sacornerstone.org/give. You can type or actually call us toll free at 855-694-9653. You can write us at PO Box 34930 ((music playing)) San Antonio, Texas 78265. Again, we thank you for your praying and your giving.
It is making an eternal impact to reach the nations of the world. This morning, Pepe, God bless you. Welcome from Fredericksburg. Nancy, we see you from North Indiana and we're praying blessings over you today. Catherine, may the Lord bless you. We're praying healing, strength, and recovery over your body in Jesus' name.
We're praying for Martin who's watching from Tennessee. We're asking that the hand of the Lord bless you and your family as you posture your heart to receive all that God has for you. If you have a prayer request, we encourage you to go to jhm.org. There is a live interactive prayer wall that gives us the opportunity to connect and believe with you concerning the miracle that you are needing in your life.
Our founding pastor has often said that the only prayer that God cannot answer is the prayer that has not been prayed. And so collectively as a body we're going to believe, we're going to knock, we're going to ask, and we're going to trust that God desires to meet the needs of your life.
Our God is a miracle working God. There is nothing impossible for him. And so we encourage you today to know that you are not alone. We are standing with you, we're standing for you, and we're believing that God is going to give you strength, he's going to give you peace, he's going to sustain you.
If God's not done in your life, you're not done. Keep moving. Keep walking forward because God is doing great things. Now, speaking of doing great things, we want to invite you to join us for our Resurrection Sunday. Resurrection Sunday is coming very quickly. We want you to be a part of it.
It's it's an event happening all weekend long. It begins on Saturday, April the 4th at 5:00 p.m. Join us for our powerful time of great storytelling as we depict and share the resurrection gospel of Jesus Christ. Sunday at April 5th at 8:30 and 11:00 again. These special services are designed for us to lift up the name of Jesus and celebrate the fact that the tomb is empty and our God lives and he reigns.
And so death, hell, and the grave have no part with believers that place their trust and confidence in the God that has risen. So again, we remind you join us for Resurrection Weekend. It's going to be awesome. Also, The ((music playing)) Witness is going to be part of that as well.
You don't want to miss this play. It's a great ((music playing)) time for us to grow and be a part and join us in celebrating The Witness, a Good Friday experience happening April the 3rd at 7:00 p.m. So Good Friday is more than a moment, it's it's history, it's the story of Jesus, it's the story of his resurrection, it's the witness of those that have seen him and understood that the cross was the payment for our sins.
Join us for The Witness. We we are confident that it is going to bless you and your entire family. Speaking of confident, uh we are confident that today you and I are going to be taught the word of God and we're going to be encouraged today. Again, this sermon is the mindset of a dreamer.
Our focus text is found in the book of Acts chapter two verses 17 through 21. Get your coffee together. Gather your family. ((music playing)) This is the day the Lord has made and you and I are going to be blessed as we walk in obedience and become doers of the word of God.
David, welcome. Thank you for watching from Lakeland, Florida. Good morning, Scarlet from Illinois. We're praying that God would meet the prayer request that you have listed and asking that his hand would be upon you, your family, and all that you're doing. He is big enough, he is powerful enough, and that can be done in the mighty name of Jesus.
We also want to acknowledge all of our servicemen and women that are serving our country deployed in various uh places of the world. We salute you. We honor you. We thank you for the sacrifice you are making for our country. We are praying safe return and passage back home to return to your families.
Again, we thank you for serving our country because we understand that freedom is not free. It's been paid by those that have served this country and have given up their lives for our country. Well, again, welcome to Heggie Ministries. Welcome to Cornerstone Church. We are moments away from our lead pastor sharing with us a powerful message concerning dreams, the divine road map to your destiny.
This is a three-part sermon series. We are on uh sermon number two and we are believing that you and I are going to grow and glean from that. So thank you and God bless you. Janie from Houston, God bless you. Thank you for watching. Rose who's watching uh from Minnesota or Missouri, rather.
May the Lord bless you today. Michelle, I pray in the name of Jesus that you would be blessed and that all that you were needing God would provide. Our God is a God that not only knows what we need, but desires to be the resource, desires to be the focal point of all that we do and all that we seek.
It is him and him alone that sustains us and keeps us. For the Lord is our shepherd, I shall not want because he leads me beside still waters. He guides me and directs me in all that I do. I'm praying and asking that the hand of God be upon you in the mighty name of Jesus.
Well, again, we want to thank all of our legacy partners, e-members, and online congregation that make it possible for the gospel to be shared to the nations of the world. Your giving goes towards giving. Your giving goes towards the Sanctuary of Hope that helps to rescue unwed young mothers and gives a life sentence to their children and not a death sentence.
We thank you for your giving. Because of you, Cornerstone Christian Schools is impacting the generations that will follow us and they will become our senators, they will become our governors, they will become our our lawyers, they will affect the community, they will affect the nation with the gospel of Jesus Christ because of Christ-based education.
Thank you so much for your support in that. We have various outreaches to the community and beyond, community givebacks. Matter of fact, in 2 weeks, we will be in one of the heavily populated areas in San Antonio that has been recognized as a need-based area. We're going to be passing out bags of groceries, giving free haircuts to children, passing out some bicycles as supplies make it available.
And we are doing this with prayer tents, sharing the gospel, loving on the community all as an extension of the love of Jesus Christ. And this is made possible because, again, those that pray and give towards this ministry. We thank you. We're believing God to be able to minister and bless in this outreach in a powerful way.
May the Lord keep you in all that you are doing. Patrick, God bless you. Thank you so much for joining us. Will from Silver City, North Carolina. Willie, may the Lord bless you today. Thank you for joining us. Pauline, we are asking God's hand to be upon you as well.
Again, we're moments away. We want to encourage you to get your Bible, open up your heart, ready your faith, posture your attitude because God is going to minister to us today and it is going to be a powerful day that we lift up the name of Jesus. Now, speaking of lifting up the name of Jesus, again, if you were just joining us, we want to invite you to Resurrection Weekend happening here in a couple of weeks.
Resurrection Weekend begins Saturday, April the 4th. We have service at 5:00 p.m. Again, we have our regular services Sunday, uh April the 5th at 8:30 and 11:00. This is the time to celebrate that the tomb is empty and our risen savior is alive and well and is ready to be able to continue to love, minister, and guide our lives in every aspect.
Not only that, but we also have the witness that will be uh made available for those that just want to grasp the ((music playing)) entirety of the gospel and what it means to receive Jesus as their Lord and savior as he died on the cross. It is a Good Friday experience.
We encourage you to get here early. This is a highly anticipated event, April the 3rd, 7:00 p.m. here in the Sanctuary. Again, the witness is going to be a powerful portrayal >> [snorts] >> of what it was like when Jesus died on the cross. There's going to be music, there's going to be acting, there's going to be a time for you and I to receive the message of transformation and hope that Jesus is the answer for the world today.
Well, uh we want to thank the Lord and welcome Liz to uh today's service. God bless you. We want to welcome Ricardo in the name of Jesus. Thank you for being here. >> ((music playing)) >> Uh we welcome those that are watching from Pakistan, those that are watching from It says Gerald from Philadelphia.
May the Lord ((music playing)) bless you. All of our servicemen and women, may the Lord bless you and keep you in all that you are doing. We are moments away from our lead pastor, Matt Hagee, sharing with us the powerful message, The Mindset of a Believer, found in the book of Acts chapter 2 verses 17 through 21.
We encourage you to also uh >> ((music playing)) >> put a prayer request on the prayer wall. We have people standing by ready to believe God for a miracle in your life. You can do so by going to jhm.org and there on the prayer wall, you can begin to place your prayer request.
Well, as we get ready to go into service, we're going to pray right now and we're going to ask that the spirit of God ready our hearts to receive all that God has for us this morning. Father, we thank you. We lift up the name of Jesus. We thank you for being good, for being faithful, for being consistent.
We ask you today that those that are watching this broadcast that they would sense and know that your spirit and your anointing is here, that you would bless them, that you would keep them, that your hands would be upon them. As we open up our hearts to receive your word, we give you access.
We give you permission to fill our hearts with your presence so that we will become doers of the word of God and not hearers only. We receive you now in the mighty name of Jesus. We thank you, God. Amen and amen. Welcome to service. >> ((music playing)) >> Good morning, Cornerstone.
Would you ((music playing)) stand to your feet, lift your voice, and let's worship the Lord in the house of God today. Sing with me, We've ((music playing)) come to praise him. We've come to praise [singing] him. We've come to praise him. We've come to praise [singing] him ((music playing)) and bless his holy name. >> ((music playing)) >> We've come to praise him. >> ((music playing)) >> With a mighty voice we >> ((music playing)) >> Bless his holy name.
Call me >> ((music playing)) >> the joyful noise Lift your voice and ((music playing)) sing. >> ((music playing)) >> Oh, You all >> ((music playing)) >> praise the Lord. >> ((music playing)) >> We've come to praise him. >> ((music playing)) >> We've come to praise him. We've come to praise him. >> ((music playing)) >> Let's ((music playing)) make a joyful noise >> ((music playing)) >> Our God's worthy to be praised.
Make a joyful noise >> ((music playing)) >> Oh, you ((music playing)) all praise and sing. You all praise the Lord. >> ((music playing)) >> While you have a chance We've come to praise ((music playing)) him. We've come to praise him. We've come to >> ((music playing)) >> praise him. >> ((music playing)) ((music playing)) >> Bless the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, King of kings and Lord of lords.
He's in this ((music playing)) house today to heal, to restore, to bring joy unspeakable. Hallelujah to the lamb. Give the Lord ((music playing)) praise in this house. Amen. God, we pray together. Our most gracious heavenly Father, with great joy have we come to the house of the Lord today. In faith believing, expecting miracles from God to happen in our lives.
That the anointing of the Holy Spirit will fill this room, meeting the spiritual and emotional needs of every one of God's children that are in this assembly and those who are watching by television across America and around the world. Today we pray for the peace of Jerusalem, that God Almighty will intervene for the ((music playing)) children of Zion.
Let them experience God's presence with them in this very ((music playing)) trying time. Let the anointing of the Holy Spirit fill this church as we worship in spirit and in truth. And all of God's children said, "Amen." Give the Lord praise in the house. >> ((music playing)) >> For those of you who are watching television across America, Pastor Maddox is continuing his sermon series on the mindset of a dreamer.
If you don't have a dream, your life is not exciting. You want to hear this sermon. Congregation, would you welcome, please, our national and international radio television ministry as our singers come. >> ((music playing)) >> Come on, church. His word says the Lord is good and his ((music playing)) mercy endures forever.
Come on, he's he's doing good to you. Let's put our hands together. Come on, sing. Wandering into the night, wanting a place to hide, this weary soul, this bag of bones. I tried ((music playing)) with all my might, but I just can't win the fight. I'm slowly drifting, a vagabond.
Just when ((music playing)) I ran [singing] out of road, I met a man I didn't know. And he ((music playing)) told me that I [singing] was not alone. >> ((music playing)) >> He picked me up. He turned me around. He placed my feet [singing] on solid ground. I thank the master. I thank ((music playing)) the savior because he healed my heart, changed my name.
((music playing)) Forever free, I'm not the same. I thank the master. I thank the savior. ((music playing)) I thank God. Oh, can we thank him this morning for his goodness? I cannot ((music playing)) deny [singing] what I've seen. I have no choice but to believe. ((music playing)) My doubts are burning [singing] like ashes in the ((music playing)) wind. So so long.
So so long to my old friends. Hurt and bitterness, you can ((music playing)) just keep it moving. Only we're welcome here. But now till ((music playing)) I walk the streets of gold, I'll sing about >> [singing] >> how you saved my soul. This vagabond ((music playing)) has found his way back home. He picked me up.
He turned me around. >> ((music playing)) >> He placed my feet [singing] on solid ground. I thank the master. I thank the savior. ((music playing)) Because he healed my heart, changed my name. Forever ((music playing)) free, I'm not the same. I thank the master. I thank the savior. [singing] I thank God. >> ((music playing)) >> That's why we thank him.
Thank you because he set us free. Thank you for the cross, the redemption, your ((music playing)) blood. Come on, sing with us this morning. Hell lost ((music playing)) another one. I am free. That's it, declare. I am free. I am free. Hell lost another one. I am ((music playing)) free. I am free. Come on, if the son has set free, you're free indeed.
Hell lost another one. >> ((music playing)) >> I am free. I am free. I am free. ((music playing)) Yes, let it rise. Hell lost another one. I am free. I am free. Yeah, >> ((music playing)) >> I am free. Hell lost another one. I am free. I am free. ((music playing)) I am free. Hell lost another one.
I am free. I am ((music playing)) free. He picked me up. He turned me around. >> ((music playing)) >> He placed my feet on solid ground. I thank the master. I thank the savior. [singing] Because he healed my heart, >> ((music playing)) >> he changed my name. Forever free, I'm not the same. [music and singing] I thank the master.
I thank the savior. I thank God. Thank you. >> ((music playing)) >> Thank you, Lord. You didn't leave us in our sins, but we are made alive in Christ today. Come on, get ((music playing)) up. Come on, let's get up. Sing with us. Get up. Get up. Get up. Get up out of that grave.
Sing it out. Get ((music playing)) up. Get up. Get up. Get up out of that grave. Get up. Get up. Get up. Get up out >> ((music playing)) >> of that grave. Get up. Get up. Get up. Get up out of that grave. Get up out of that grave. Get up out of that grave. >> ((music playing)) >> Get up.

How many ((music playing)) of you are grateful in this house? Thank you, Jesus. There is power in the name ((music playing)) above every name. And that's the name that we're going to sing this morning.
So, can you lift your ((music playing)) hands in this place? And if you know this, sing this with us. I just want to speak the name of Jesus over every ((music playing)) heart and [singing] every mind. >> ((music playing)) >> I know there [singing] is peace within your presence. I speak Jesus. ((music playing)) Hallelujah. And I just want [music and singing] to speak the name of Jesus till every dark addiction ((music playing)) starts to break.
Declaring there ((music playing)) is hope [singing] and there is freedom. I speak Jesus. ((music playing)) Your name ((music playing)) is power. Your name is healing. >> [singing] >> Your name is life. You break every stronghold. Shine through the shadows. I speak [singing] Jesus. >> ((music playing)) >> Your name [singing] is power. Your name is healing. Your name >> ((music playing)) >> is life. Break every stronghold. ((music playing)) Shine through the shadows. Burn >> ((music playing)) >> like a fire. Come on, can you declare your name is power?
Your name >> ((music playing)) >> is power. [singing] Your name is healing. Your name >> ((music playing)) >> is life. Oh, just the mention of your name. Break every ((music playing)) stronghold. Shine through the >> ((music playing)) [singing] >> Hallelujah. Come on. Come on. >> [singing] >> Thank you, Jesus. >> [singing] [singing] >> Hallelujah. Can you just lift your hands in this place?
And can you just begin to declare ((music playing)) the name above every name in this house? Come on, begin to declare Jesus over your family. >> ((music playing)) >> Can you just begin to declare Jesus over our nation? Can you begin to declare Jesus over our school ((music playing)) systems? Come on, Cornerstone, open up your mouth in this place.
There is power in the mighty name of Jesus. Whatever you ask for in my name, the word of ((music playing)) God says that I will do. Come on, if you believe this, lift your hands. And ((music playing)) for the next 15 seconds, can you just begin to declare the name of Jesus over your life, over your husband, over your wife, over ((music playing)) your home, over this church?
Hallelujah. >> ((music playing)) >> Now, with confidence, declare this. Shout Jesus from the mountains. >> [music and singing] >> Come on. >> ((music playing)) >> Jesus for my family. >> [singing] ((music playing)) ((music playing)) [singing] ((music playing)) ((music playing)) [singing] ((music playing)) ((music playing)) ((music playing)) ((music playing)) [singing] ((music playing)) ((music playing)) [singing] ((music playing)) ((music playing)) ((music playing)) ((music playing)) >> Can you give a shout of victory in this house? Amen. >> ((music playing)) >> And we thank you because you're in this house today. We declare the name of Jesus over our families, ((music playing)) over our children, over our nation. Because there's only one name that can save. And that's the name of Jesus. So, today we declare ((music playing)) and every day that you are worthy of all things.
That you are worthy of all of the praise, of all of the glory, because you are great and greatly to be praised. We declare all of this in the name of Jesus. >> ((music playing)) >> And the church says, amen and amen. Come on, church. Give a shout of praise in this house.
God bless you. May be seated. >> ((music playing)) >> To all of our first-time guests ((music playing)) and those joining us online, welcome to Cornerstone. We're so glad you're here today. ((music playing)) Easter weekend is right around the corner, and it's one of the most meaningful times of the year as we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
((music playing)) This year, we have a full resurrection weekend planned. On Friday, ((music playing)) April 3rd, we're hosting an original production called Witnesses. It's a powerful live experience with music ((music playing)) and storytelling that brings the events surrounding the resurrection to life. And the best part is completely free for everyone. >> ((music playing)) >> So, invite your friends, your family, your neighbors, and come experience with us.
Then on April ((music playing)) 4th and 5th, we'll gather together for our resurrection services as we celebrate the victory of Jesus. Every year, ((music playing)) we welcome many first-time guests who join us for this special weekend. So, if you've been attending Cornerstone for a while, we want to ask for your help.
To make some room for our Sunday guests, we encourage our church family to attend the Saturday resurrection service on April ((music playing)) 4th. You'll experience the same powerful worship, message, and celebration you would on Sunday ((music playing)) morning. But by choosing Saturday, you help create a space for someone who may be coming to church for the very first time.
And if ((music playing)) you'd like to help make resurrection weekend special for our guests, we invite you to serve with our first impressions team. Throughout the weekend, this team ((music playing)) helps greet, guide, and welcome the many visitors who will be joining us. If you'd like to be part of helping someone ((music playing)) feel at home, then we want you to come serve with us.
To volunteer, ((music playing)) visit sacornerstone.org/volunteer. Resurrection weekend is always ((music playing)) a special time at Cornerstone. So, begin praying for the people in your life who could use a little hope. Invite someone ((music playing)) to come with you, and we can't wait to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus together. Good morning and God bless you.
Those of you joining us here in our campus in San Antonio and those of you watching and joining us online today. No matter where you are, we welcome you to the house of the Lord. Today, all 50 states, 128 different nations are watching, and we're thankful to have each and every one of you.
Congregation, would you make them welcome here today? Speaking of visitors, we have some folks who have traveled from sunny Florida to come to hot Antonio, I mean San Antonio. And uh Raymond and Dana Torres are celebrating their 23rd anniversary today. They've been watching on YouTube and decided to come be here with us in person.
Raymond and Dana, where are you sitting this morning? Right there. God bless you. Stand up and let the congregation welcome you. Thank you for joining us. >> ((applause)) >> We highly recommend the tacos, so you'll enjoy them here in San Antonio. Speaking of Florida, Dad, that's where you were last Sunday, and and of all things, a winter storm delayed your uh travel plans, believe it or not.
But apparently, hot and cold don't get along in this state, because all we get is hot. So, what was going on in Florida? Uh last Sunday, uh I was in Florida receiving from the Zionists of America uh their award. It's a award given to people who uh do extraordinary things for the state of Israel.
It was an audience of several hundred people, some of the most powerful and influential people in the United States of America, including some congressmen. But all people who are extremely interested in Israel and what's being done in Israel and for Israel. They presented me with this beautiful plaque and I >> ((applause)) >> Uh I'd like to read it but it print is too small for me to read.
Can you read it? >> I'll give it my best. >> That's right there on the bottom. It says presented to Pastor John Hagee for extraordinary lifetime of world-class oratory and relentless devotion to preaching the truth about God, the Bible, and the Jewish people's biblical, legal, and political right to all of Eretz Israel.
The Zionist Organization of America presented this day, March the 15th, 2026. Yes, thank you. Thank you. >> ((applause)) >> Thank you. >> ((applause)) >> Thank you. Thank ((applause)) you. Thank you. And speaking about Israel, this morning, uh rockets have been fired by Iran to an American military installation. And I am here to tell you that this war is far from over.
We need to pray for the state of Israel today and every day until total and absolute victory becomes a reality. Thank you for your prayers. Amen. >> ((applause)) >> As you saw in our announcements, there's a number of exciting things taking place in the next few weeks here at Cornerstone.
Tonight at 5:30, we have our discipleship program that begins at 5:00 p.m. in the community hall. Next Sunday night begins our season of resurrection celebration on good or I'm sorry, on Palm Sunday, Natalie Grant is going to be here in concert at 6:30 and I know that you'll enjoy coming and being a part of that worship experience.
And then on Good Friday, we have our dramatic presentation, The Witness, Saturday, April the 4th at 5:00 p.m. will be our first Easter service and then Sunday, 8:30 and 11:00 will be the balance of our Easter services and I encourage you to invite people to be a part of your resurrection weekend by bringing them to church.
Now, understand there's a difference between invitation and bringing. Invitation is you simply say something like, "Well, it would be nice if you'd join us for church." Bringing is you go get them, put them in your car, and bring them to church. So, >> ((applause)) >> don't recommend you do it with strangers off the street, but people you relatively know well, make sure you bring them to church.
It's a great time to be in the house of the Lord. The way that we accomplish the mission of this ministry is by the receiving of tithes and offerings and I'm going to ask our ushers to take their positions and help us worship the Lord with giving today.
Those of you who are watching and joining us, no matter where you're watching from, you too can participate in giving. Simply go online to sacornerstone.org/give. That's how you can give on the online platform or text the word give, g i v e, to 210-880-2300. Call us at 855-694-9653 or write PO Box 34930, San Antonio, Texas 78265.
Pastor, would you pray over today's offering? Heavenly Father, lift our hands to the throne of grace. Our most gracious heavenly Father, what an awesome God you are. Thank you for all of your goodness and your mercy that you have poured upon this congregation. We thank you, Father, for the privilege of preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ to the nations of the world.
And I thank you for our television partners and our friends who are listening now who financially make it possible for us to present this gospel. I thank you for this congregation that God has gathered here that they become a voice for truth, a shining light in a nation that's lost its moral compass.
Let us preach the gospel of Jesus Christ without fear or favor, knowing that the word of truth will bring deliverance to our nation from the things by which we are being now attacked. Do these things in Jesus' name. Amen. >> ((music playing)) >> We thank you for your praying and your giving.
God is using it to impact >> ((music playing)) >> the nations of the world. This is a segment in our program where we pray and ask the Lord to meet the needs of those per request that have been mentioned on our prayer wall. Doreen, in the mighty name of Jesus, we connect with you believing healing, restoration over your body, that the hand of the Lord would sustain you and keep ((music playing)) you, and that the power of God would touch your body right now in Jesus' name.
Quentin, we're praying financial favor, freedom, the hand ((music playing)) of God, the provision of God over your life, that he would meet every need according to his riches and glory because he is powerful and he is able. Janice from Arizona, we're praying over your ((music playing)) heart condition, asking God for full recovery from the procedure that has taken place.
We are declaring that no weapon forged against you shall prosper >> ((music playing)) >> and expedient healing would come upon your life in the mighty name of Jesus. When we're talking about dreams from a biblical perspective, we're talking about God who is the Alpha ((music playing)) and the Omega, giving you a glimpse of his plan and purpose for your life and what it takes for that dream ((music playing)) to become a reality.
When God shows you a glimpse of your future, ((music playing)) he's letting you know what his plan and his purpose is. And it's up to you to decide ((music playing)) if you're willing to follow that plan and purpose and find out what great things God can do. Now, when God shares a dream with you, what you need to understand >> ((music playing)) >> is that while hell and the devil and all of his minions do not know what God knows, the second that they recognize that you are marked by God, their job is to deter, to distract, and to try and get ((music playing)) you to not do what God wants you to do.
Regardless of the world that is around you, keep believing and dreaming that God's promise for you is alive and well. God has more in store for you than you can ask, than you can think, than you CAN IMAGINE. GIVE GOD a hand clap of praise. Would you stand?
Would you stand for the reading of God's word? And if you brought your Bibles, turn them to the book of Acts, to the second chapter, beginning at the 17th verse. As this week we continue with this conversation about dreams, what are they? What does God use them for?
Last week, we answered the question, is this a time to dream? Is this a season of life in which you can expect good things to happen in your future. We define the dream in the biblical context as being a God-given glimpse of your divine destiny. Now, remember, it's just a glimpse.
It's not the full details of all that is to occur. It's just a little view when God begins to put his hand on your life and your destiny in another hand and work all things together to bring it to pass. Your responsibility with that dream is to trust in the Lord with all of your heart and lean not on your own understanding because your understanding will kill your dream.
If you try to do it your way, your dream will disappear. Because God has promised us his ways are not our ways. His time is not our time. But, he's also promised that every word that he utters out of his mouth, it will come to pass. That means that no matter where you are today, no matter what you've been through up until this moment, no matter what world you woke up in, God in heaven has a destiny for you.
And if he has declared that promise over you, his word will not return void. Put your faith in him and stand upon the promises of God and see what God can do. If he has to move a mountain, he'll move it. If he has to stop a storm, he'll stop it.
IF HE HAS to prepare a table for you in the presence of your enemies, he will do it exceedingly and abundantly above all that you could ask, think, or imagine. That is the kind of God that we serve. So, today, >> ((applause)) >> knowing what a dream is and knowing what they're for, I want to talk to you about the mindset of a dreamer.
Let's read in Acts chapter 2, verse 17. If you found that passage, say amen. And it shall come to pass in the last days, said God, that I will pour out my spirit on all flesh. Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy. Your young men shall see visions.
Your old men shall dream dreams. And on my men servants and on my maid servants, I will pour out my spirit in those days, and they shall prophesy. Heavenly Father, let the power of your living word fill this sanctuary. Not just this room, but every life that is watching from wherever they are today.
Let your Holy Spirit breathe fresh life into every area of our being that we might be more than conquerors through Christ who gives us strength. In Jesus' mighty name we pray. To all of God's children, said, "Praise the Lord." You may be seated. For those of you who think that this morning's text sounds a lot like last week's text, you're right.
The difference is last week we read out of the Old Testament in the book of Joel when the prophet Joel was declaring to Israel that there was coming a time when God was not going to speak through the prophet, but God was going to pour out his spirit on all and begin to communicate directly with sons and daughters, with men servants and maid servants, with the young and with the old.
And when you read through the entirety of this passage, it says, "And whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." That means that God does not have an exclusionary policy. No matter who you are, no matter where you are, no matter what you are, IF YOU CALL UPON THE NAME OF THE LORD, he'll hear you and he'll answer you. 750 to 800 years later, Peter, on the day of Pentecost, after the Holy Spirit had filled the upper room and the men in that room fled out into the streets of Jerusalem and were declaring the mighty works of God to those who were in that place.
The men in the streets of Jerusalem began to give their lives to Christ as they were hearing the word of God. And Peter stands up and he begins to preach a sermon and he begins with what Joel said. HE SAID, "THIS IS that which was spoken by the prophet Joel."
Peter is saying that now is the time to dream. Now is the time to believe that God is going to show you and pour out his power upon you and do great things in your life. For those who have faith in the one true God, you need to know that it is always appropriate to dream and dream big.
God is not a small-thinking God. God is a dream-big God. He is a no-ordinary-thing God. He does all things well. The Bible uses words like exceedingly and abundantly because that's the kind of God that he is. Dreams need to be the golden ladder that you climb out of the heartaches of this world until you can see your life from heaven's perspective.
Last week we talked about Jacob and the dream that he had and how there was a ladder that was going into heaven and angels were ascending and angels were descending. What you need to see in this image is not Jacob with his head laying on a stone. What you need to see is yourself there and God doing the same for you because he's no respecter of persons.
He's waiting for you to believe in him enough so that you can see what he has in store for you. Dreams are what give you the courage to face your fears that others flee from. Dreams are the surge of strength through your soul that give you the give you the endurance to try another day.
Don't underestimate the power of a dream. Dreams are what change the world. Every invention, every major discovery, all of it came from some individual who had the courage to dream. Columbus dreamed that there was life beyond the horizon and he found a new world. Dreams have power. It's what forged a nation.
Our forefathers dreamed in life and liberty and the pursuit of happiness and they were willing to give what it took in order to create it. Now, we may think that the dream of America has turned into a nightmare, but that's not our forefathers' fault. That's our fault because we haven't been responsible with what they gave us.
That's another sermon for another day, but I can preach it. >> ((applause)) >> There's power in your dream. Edison dreamed of electricity before he created the light bulb. Orville and Wilbur Wright dreamed that men could fly before they built the Kitty Hawk. Alexander Graham Bell dreamed of communication and he invented a telephone and yeah.
Jury's still out on that one. The point is is dreams don't happen by accident. Dreamers are not individuals who caught falling stars or stood under the lucky shadow. Dreamers are individuals who saw something others could not see and then began to believe in it and were willing to do whatever it took to make that dream come true.
What you need to understand is that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. And the promise that he made to Joel and the dreams that he was going to give to his sons and to his daughters are available for you today. No matter what's going on IN THE WORLD, HAVE faith in God.
It is a season for dreaming. >> ((applause)) >> People look at all of the things that are happening and the circumstances that surround them and they just pray to hold on. They don't expect anything good. Read Joel and read Acts and look at what God was saying was going to be happening in the situations and circumstances that were around the individuals that he was pouring his spirit out.
He said, "I'll show you signs and wonders in the heaven, blood and fire and vapor and smoke." That sounds exciting. He said, "The sun shall be turned into darkness. The moon shall be turned into blood." We've heard that book. Before the coming of the great and the awesome day of the Lord.
The dream was not conditional to circumstance. The dream was those who were willing to let God use them for his purpose. So, what is the mindset of a dreamer? Do you have that kind of mindset? If your dream is going to be fulfilled, you'd better adopt the attitude of a dreamer.
Each and every one of us have three things that we need to be aware of. One, our capability. Capability is what you can do. And what you need to understand about your dream is it will always align with things that you can do. I could tell you that I dream about dunking basketballs.
But, guess what? Unless that rim is about shoulder high, the only thing I can dunk is an Oreo. So, your dream is going to align with what you can do. And most of the time your capabilities are greater than what you believe. Then after our capability is our motivation.
Motivation is why and what drives you to do it. Every capable person has to have motivation. But more important than your capability and your motivation is your attitude. Because the attitude is how well you do it. Have you ever seen somebody do a simple job with a bad attitude?
You don't have to look very far. Just go to the grocery store. Or the parking lot. Have you ever seen somebody do a simple job with a great attitude? Attitude makes the difference. Dreamers have an attitude of excellence. And if there's one thing that this world will never get enough of, it's excellence.
Dreamers have an attitude of excellence. They don't whine about where they are. They don't worry about what they're not. They don't waste time with what they can't do. They take on an attitude of excellence and they say, "Wherever I am, whatever I'm doing, I'm going to do it to the best of my ability because this is what God has given me to do."
Consider once again our example from last week, Joseph. He had this attitude of excellence. No matter the circumstance, he was going to do his very best right where he was. His dream was that he would sit in a place of authority and rule, and he had the attitude of a ruler within his own self before he ever sat on the throne.
The first person that Joseph demonstrated rulership over was himself. Why? Because he had an attitude of excellence. Everywhere that he went, he ruled because of the attitude that he took with him when he went. Do you have that attitude? Are you in the place that you want to be?
If not, don't worry about where you are. Have the attitude that will promote you to where you want to go. Do you have an attitude of excellence? Because it's the attitude of excellence that gets you out of the dungeon and into the palace. You may not be where you want to be, but the way you act about where you are is going to determine how long you have to stay.
Dreamers have a mindset. And it's an attitude that ignores what others say. It's an attitude that's willing to shake off what didn't go your way. It's an attitude that looks at disappointment as if it's fuel for the dream. We live in a world where if something doesn't go our way, we want to cry foul.
We want to look at a replay tape. We want to talk about it on social media for the next 6 weeks. What you need to understand is that in life things aren't going to go your way. Shake it off and keep moving. Why? This is what Paul said.
Forgetting those things that are behind me, I press on. Everyone thinks that everything that Paul's talking about is the negative. He's not talking about the negative. He's talking about everything. He's talking about the bad things that happened yesterday. He's forgetting those things and pressing on. He's talking about the good things that happened yesterday.
He's forgetting those things and he's pressing on. He's talking about the individuals that resisted him yesterday. He's going to forget them and he's going to press on. HE'S FORGETTING ABOUT ALL THINGS BECAUSE WHAT HE KNOWS IS THAT GOD'S BEST IS IN his tomorrow, and if he holds on to yesterday, it will weigh him down, and if he can get to tomorrow, he'll see God do greater things than he ever imagined he could do.
He said, "I'M GOING TO PRESS TOWARD THE GOAL. It's the divine dream that God has planted in my heart, and today I want you to have that SAME ATTITUDE, THAT YOU'RE GOING TO SHAKE IT OFF AND PRESS THROUGH THE PAIN OF YOUR PAST. YOU'RE GOING to shake it off AND PRESS THROUGH THE TRIALS THAT YOU'RE FACING.
YOU'RE GOING TO SHAKE IT OFF AND PRESS THROUGH THE rejection of others. YOU'RE GOING TO SHAKE OFF THE FEAR AND PRESS THROUGH BECAUSE GOD HASN'T GIVEN you a spirit of fear, but of power and love and sound mind. Shake off yesterday and announce today that I can do ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHO GIVES ME STRENGTH." >> [applause and cheering] >> Dreamers not only have an attitude of excellence, but dreamers are doers.
Say that with me. Dreamers are doers. The difference between what you wish for and what you achieve is what you're willing to do about it. Have you ever met somebody who always talks about what they want, but they never do anything to get it? Everyone wants to be a champion.
But they only give away one trophy at the end of the tournament. Why? Because not everybody does what it takes to be the champion. You can't just talk about it or dream about it. You actually have to do something about it. And the Bible supports this because it says faith without works is what?
DEAD. YOU CAN'T DREAM about a great marriage. You've got to invest yourself into having a great marriage. If you want to turn the dream of a great marriage into a nightmare, just tell your spouse everything they do wrong. If you want to have a great marriage, then be the kind of spouse that you want your spouse to be.
And build the marriage that you dreamed of. Here's what 1 Peter chapter 3 said to Christian wives who have ungodly husbands. 1 Peter chapter 3 verses 1 through 6 gives them clear instructions. It says, "You godly women who have ungodly husbands, leave tapes about the rapture in the car so they can play them."
No, it's not what it said. Its instruction to godly women with ungodly husbands is that they would conduct themselves in such a way that without a word Say that with me. Without a word the husband would see the wife's behavior and then change who he is. Wow. >> ((applause)) >> I don't know if I should call you courageous or cowards, but think about that.
Don't shout at them and tell them everything that's not going right. You be the kind of person you want them to be, and without a word, they're seeing you do it will change them. That's God's promise. You can't dream about a great business. You've actually got to go do something about it.
You say, "Well, conditions aren't right for business." CONDITIONS ARE NEVER PERFECT. GET STARTED. WELL, IT'S TOUGH out there. THEN GET TOUGHER. PLAN A DIDN'T WORK. There's plan B, C, and they've got letters all the way through Z. Just keep trying. Whatever you've got to adapt, WHATEVER YOU'VE GOT TO CHANGE, MAKE UP YOUR MIND that nothing is going to stop you because all things are possible for you.
Move forward. Move forward. Be mindful that it is the Lord who gives you the power to get wealth. AND IF IT IS GOD WHO GIVES you the power to get wealth, he's going to see your willingness to take action as an act of faith in his plan for your life.
And what you need to know is God hits moving targets. When you start moving, God says, "He's behaving like he believes me, and now I'm going to start blessing him." Do you dream about great health? Guess what? You got to do something about it. I know this from experience.
You don't lose weight by watching exercise videos. If hours of viewership equated to muscle, I'd look like Arnold Schwarzenegger. You actually have to go to the gym, and you actually have to exercise. You can't talk about a slimmer waistline eating Fritos. The two don't go together. The other day I asked a professional trainer how long and how often someone should work out, and he very enthusiastically told me.
He said, "You should work out until you're tired, out of breath, until it hurts, until you see stars." >> [laughter] >> I went to the gym. I bent over and tied my shoes, and I knew it was done. Cuz I was tired. I was out of breath. It hurt, and I saw stars.
So, I just took a break. We'll try again next month. No matter what the dream is, the point is it's not enough to wish for it. You actually have to do something about it. And when it comes to the attitude that you take into what you're going to do, I recommend that you adopt the attitude that Jesus told his disciples about.
It's called the do more attitude. Don't do the minimum that's required. Do what is required and then do more. Jesus told his disciples if somebody wants you to go one mile, take the pack two. He said do more than what is required. Try harder. Make up your mind that you're going to declare a war on mediocrity and average and you are going to live every day to the best of your abilities because dreamers not only do more, dreamers plan on success.
DREAMERS ARE NOT SURPRISED WHEN IT WORKS OUT. IT'S WHAT THEY WERE EXPECTING. This is what Habakkuk said in Habakkuk chapter two when he's encouraging the children of Israel to build the temple. He says write the vision and make it plain. Earlier this year we gave you these I believe four cards and the reason we gave them to you is because there's something powerful when you actually take the time to write down what you are believing God for.
At the end of the service I'm going to ask the ushers to have these in their hands and as you're leaving if you need to reload your card, you need to know that March is not the end of the year. March is a great time to get started in what you're believing God for.
Dreamers believe that God is going to make it happen and they're willing to do what they need to do to make it happen. Write the vision and make it plain. The Bible gives us this charge that we are to keep the word of God in front of our eyes.
Why? Because what you behold, you will become. What you look at, you will gravitate to. If you look at the things of this world, you'll become more like the world. If you look at the things of the word, you'll become more like the word. This is what God told Joshua.
He said observe to do all that is written and you will have good success wherever you go. He told Joshua observe my word in the morning, observe my word in the evening and you will succeed wherever you go. Jesus told his disciples if my word abides in you, you will ask what you desire and it shall be done for you.
When you write down the dream that God has IN YOUR HEART, FIND Bible verses that connect to the dream that you have and write those right there with it and make it a daily declaration of what you are believing that God is going to do in your life.
Do you have a dream? Write it down in plain language. Don't make it so mythical that you have to have an interpreter to understand it. Write it down in simple sentences so that you can read it and understand what you are striving and believing for God to do in your life.
Put it in the place where you're going to see it every day. Take a screenshot of it and put it on your cell phone. You'll see it 2700 times a day. Some of you'd see that more in the service than you would the sermon. I know what you're doing.
You're looking up Bible verses. Click like and subscribe. Make a conscious decision that no matter what, you're going to do what it need what needs to be done to get one step closer to your dream. Dreamers are not only doers, but dreamers refuse to be fearful. Fear is a dream killer.
And there's a difference between having fear and being fearful. Some people say I'm not afraid of anything. Live rattlesnakes? In pillowcases around your neck? You're probably afraid of that. Anybody who tells you they're not afraid is not being honest with themselves. Fear is not all in by itself a bad thing.
Fear means you are a breathing, living human being. But being full of fear is not a good thing. Having fear is one thing. Being fearful is paralyzing. Here's what David said in the Psalms. I love the Lord because he delivered me from all of my fears. David who was a warrior, David who was mighty in battle admitted that he had fear.
But he said when I'm afraid, I take the fear that I have to the God that I serve and my God is greater than my fear. There's a difference between having a fear and being fearful. When you're fearful, your soul is paralyzed because you freeze and you can't move forward.
Look at Moses at the Red Sea. Moses is fearful. He knows that Egypt is closing in. He knows that the Red Sea is in front of them. He knows that on the other side of the Red Sea is the wilderness. He knows that the circumstances are way beyond his control.
And so HE BEGINS TO WAX eloquent to the children of Israel. Behold. And God tells him, Moses, I didn't tell you to say anything. I said move forward. Moses gives this speech. The Egyptians that you see before you, you shall see no more. God says I didn't say that.
I said get across the sea. THE LORD SAID TO MOSES, WHY DO YOU CRY TO ME? Tell the children of Israel move forward. Say that with me. Move forward. As long as fear forces you to freeze, you cannot move forward. But the Red Sea is in front of us.
MOVE FORWARD. BUT THERE'S A GIANT ON THAT BATTLEFIELD. Move forward. BUT THERE'S A STORM ON THE HORIZON. MOVE FORWARD. BUT THERE'S A HIGH MOUNTAIN THAT WE MIGHT HAVE TO CLIMB. Move forward. BUT THERE'S A DARK VALLEY THAT WE'LL HAVE TO GO THROUGH. Move forward. BUT THERE'S A FIERY FURNACE THAT THEY MAY THROW US IN.
MOVE FORWARD. GOD WANTS YOU TO move forward because it's IN THE NEXT STEP THAT HE'S GOT THE ANSWER TO THE REQUEST THAT YOU JUST MADE. AND IF HE'S GOT TO MOVE THE Red Sea to the left and to the right, he'll do it. If he's got to move the mountain out of the way, he can do it.
IF HE'S GOT TO SHOW UP IN THE FIERY FURNACE WITH YOU, HE'LL BE THERE. BUT WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T STOP MOVING. KEEP TRUSTING IN GOD. >> ((applause)) >> Just like you need to write down your vision on a list, you also need to write down what you're afraid of on a list.
Make it a hit list. And then start taking out your fears one at a time. Why? Because fear must be faced in order for it to be conquered. You can't ignore it and expect it to go away. You can't outrun it. It'll be there whenever you arrive. So write down on a piece of paper what you're afraid of.
Write it down like this. When I think about my dream, I'm afraid that it's never been done before. And then right after that, write the Bible verse that cancels out that fear. I'm afraid it's never been done before. All things are possible to those who believe. When I think about my dream, I'm afraid that I could fail.
Then write out. He who began a good work in you is faithful to complete it even to the day of Christ Jesus. You don't like that one, take Romans 8:28. And we know all things work together for good to those who love the Lord and are called according to his purposes.
You don't like that one, I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. The point is there's MORE PROMISES ABOUT YOUR SUCCESS THAN THERE ARE DAYS ABOUT YOUR THAN there are words about your failure. When I think about my dream, I'm afraid that I'll be criticized.
Congratulations, you will be. If critics could kill, we'd be dead. When I think about my dream, I'm afraid of what it's going to cost. It'll cost you all. But once you've listed out all of your fears, write a battle plan one Bible verse at a time to take out your fears.
So that you recognize that he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. God has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power and love and a sound mind. Dreamers have a mindset of excellence. Dreamers are doers. And dreamers understand that teamwork makes the dream work.
Dreamers are willing to work with others. Our lives, our dreams, our purpose on the earth is surrounded by a cast of characters that God has written into the script of your life. You're not in this room all by yourself. You're in this room because this is where God put you and the people that he's surrounded you with have a role to play.
If God didn't know that you needed them, he wouldn't have brought them to you. It doesn't MATTER WHO THEY ARE. GOD has a purpose for them all. Your friends and your enemies. Don't underestimate the value of an adversary. Opposition can be a big encouragement and sometimes more effective than an ally.
It just depends on how you're willing to see it. David could have had A THOUSAND FRIENDS WRITING in his name on the ballot for the king in Israel. He could have had a thousand influential people cheering him on in the streets, but one giant, one enemy did more to promote him in a day than a thousand friends could have in a lifetime.
Every set of helping hands, every voice of encouragement, every word of wisdom, none of it is wasted. God uses it all. And the message to each of us is this, you cannot accomplish your dream on your own. You have to learn how to appreciate the values of others.
Many people deceive themselves when they say things like, "I'm a self-made man. I got here on my own." No, you did not. Adam was the only one who could have made that claim, and he didn't get one whole chapter to himself before God said, "You need help." It's not good for man to be alone.
God created and designed us to live in a complementary complementary relationship with others. What does that complementary relationship mean? It's the difference between complement and compete. Our human nature is a competitive nature. Look at two little kids standing in the schoolyard. What do they do? How tall are you?
How old are you? I'm seven. I'm seven and three-quarters. How much do you weigh? They'll share that in the schoolyard because down there it's a badge of courage. The older you get, the more you lie about it. Human nature is a competitive nature. Spiritual nature is a complementary nature.
Complementary means that where I'm weak, you're strong, and your strengths complement my weaknesses, and my strengths complement your weaknesses. This is why THE BIBLE SAYS THAT ONE of us can put a thousand to flight, but two of us can put 10,000 to flight. Why? Because we're better together.
Teamwork makes the dream work. And what the body of Christ needs to learn how to do is trust their teammates. You will not have time to fulfill the destiny that God has for you unless you can trust others to do their part. If it's all up to you, you are one funeral away from failure.
But the Bible establishes a principle of delegated authority. Moses delegated authority in the nation of Israel. He looked for willing and able men to whom he could give authority to rule over the affairs of the nation. Jesus delegated the authority of the New Testament church to the disciples.
The Bible says he laid his hands on them, and the New Testament believers were the individuals to whom the apostles delegated authority. Jesus trained the disciples, and then he sent them out. And when he sent them out, he saw exponential growth because he had empowered them and given them the authority to do what the Bible says.
They were able to cast out demons, lay hands on the sick, and whatever they asked in faith, God would do it. Some people aren't seeing the dream become a reality because they won't let go and allow others to help them. You refuse to trust anyone, AND YOU EXHAUST yourself trying to keep it all under your control.
What you need to know is you ARE NOT UNDER CONTROL. Jethro told Moses, "You wear yourself out, and the thing that you do is too much for you." He said that in Exodus 18 and 18. His message to Moses is the message to us. You were not created to do it all by yourself.
Every human being has a maximum capacity. And when you reach your limit, you need someone else's help. When you look for people to help you, Jethro told Moses, "Look for those who are willing and able." Say those words with me, willing and able. Those are two different things.
Some people are able and unwilling. Some people are willing and unable. But when you find those who are willing and able, put them on your team. In order for us to work together, some people need to let go, and some people need to step up. Because if you are willing and able, and you're not working, you're not a part of the dream.
In closing, dreamers live a life of balance. What does that mean? It's important that you understand that while you're dreaming of the destiny that God has for you, you address the reality of today. Sometimes when people start to talk about the dream of their tomorrows, they get so heavenly minded they're no earthly good.
They're believing about prosperity in the future, but they can't pay the power bill today. When you dream about tomorrow, give tomorrow all you've got, but live in today. Prioritize and invest your time wisely so that not only will you see your dreams fulfilled, but you'll help others fulfill their dream.
If you dream of having a successful business, don't just work on building a successful business, but build a successful family so that whenever you build the business you want, the family that you've built will be blessed by it. Balance your expectations with your accomplishments. Fully expect that one day you will get where God wants you to go, BUT DO NOT ALLOW THE PASSION THAT you have for tomorrow to take away the joy of right now.
Realistically accept where you are and continue to push for what you want. And understand that God is not through with you yet. We will not be a finished product until we see him face to face. So don't overestimate where you are, and don't underestimate where you're going. But be consistent and believe that as long as you put your faith in him, he who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it.
Jesus told his disciples, "You didn't choose me, I chose you." To each and every one of us, we need to understand that he chose us. And he wants us to be a part of his plan. When you make his dream your desire, the dream that he's given you will come to pass.
Do you dare to dream? What are you willing to do about it? If you're willing to face your fears and put your faith in God, nothing is impossible to you. Would you stand to your feet? You're in this place today, and you say, "Pastor, I've got a dream, and I believe that it is God's destiny, but I have not done anything.
I have not taken action. I've been frozen in fear. I've allowed circumstances to discourage me, but today I want that dream to begin to become a reality." If that describes you, I want you to hold your hand just as a declaration of faith. It could be in your business, it could be in your family, it could be in any area or aspect of your life.
You just say, "There is this thing that I believe God is going to do, but I know without his help I can't get it done." Now, this hand that you've raised is a hand of confession. It says, "I need you, Lord." I'm going to ask you to do something else and raise your other hand right next to it because this is a hand of submission.
And [snorts] confession and submission together are surrender. And when you surrender to God and say, "I'm going to put my faith in you. I'm going to take action upon what you've instructed, and I'm going to do your word and your will in my life." Get ready because that's when the dream comes alive.
That's when you begin to see God do exceedingly and abundantly above all that you could ask, think, or imagine. So with those hands raised, I want to pray over ((music playing)) you. Heavenly Father, you see your children here on the earth, and before they were formed in their mother's womb, you called them, you ordained them, you anointed them. >> ((music playing)) >> You had a destiny designed for them.
The world, the flesh, and the devil is against them, but if God be for you, who can be against you? So today I pray that whatever it is that you've put in their heart, whatever desire and destiny you have shown them a glimpse of, whatever dream that you have caused to come alive in them, God, bring it to pass.
Continue to make a way where there seems to be no way. Continue to open doors that no man could open. Continue to take out enemies that they don't even see, weapons that will not prosper, problems that they can't solve. Whatever it is that is against them, God, today I declare that they are more than conquerors through Christ.
And as they begin to believe in this destiny and this dream, as they begin to write it down and make it plain, as they begin to face their fear and pray over it and see God do great things with it, this year, they're going to see those promises come ((music playing)) to pass like never before.
Because you promised us whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be ((music playing)) saved. So, today we are calling on you and we are receiving your word in our life and we are acting upon it in Jesus' name. Now, bring it to pass. In Jesus' ((music playing)) name we pray and all of God's children said, "Praise the Lord."
Would you give the Lord a hand clap of praise? ((music playing)) Sing with me. Because [music and singing] he lives, I can face ((music playing)) [singing] tomorrow. Because [music and singing] he lives, all fear is ((music playing)) gone. >> [singing] >> Because ((music playing)) I know >> [singing] >> he ((music playing)) holds the future >> [singing] >> and life ((music playing)) is worth the living just because he [music and singing] lives.
Because I ((music playing)) know >> [singing] >> he holds ((music playing)) the future. My life ((music playing)) is worth the living [singing] just because ((music playing)) he lives. Do you believe that today? Give the Lord a hand clap of praise. >> ((music playing)) >> Will you lift your hands for the blessing? And now, may the Lord bless you and may the Lord keep ((music playing)) you.
And may the Lord make his face to shine upon you. And may the Lord be gracious unto you and give you his peace. May the dream that you have be supernaturally accomplished knowing that nothing is impossible with God. You and God can do anything that the Holy Spirit places in your mind to do.
Therefore, live with joy and anticipation that your dream is coming ((music playing)) true through the power of God. Receive this blessing in Jesus' name. Amen. God bless you ((music playing)) all. You're watching ((music playing)) Hagee Ministries. Don't go away. Here's more teaching from the word of God. Hello and welcome to this Sunday conversation.
For the past few weeks, we've been discussing the reality of the resurrection and considering Pastor Hagee's devotional from Tomb to Triumph and how you can experience the joy of the resurrection in your everyday life. Today, I want to conclude this conversation by giving you some thoughts from Acts chapter 1 and verse 11.
Here's what the Bible says. It says, "Men of Galilee, why do you stand here gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in like manner just as you saw him go." For the last 2 weeks, we've been discussing Bible truths about the resurrection taken from Pastor Hagee's latest devotional from Tomb to Triumph and how you can claim the victory of the resurrection in your everyday life.
This devotional will encourage you every day by reminding you of the reality of Christ's victory over death and his sacrifice at the cross and what that means to you and I. But today, I want us to look at the words spoken by the angels to the disciples in Acts chapter 1 and consider what they mean for us today and in the future.
This is the ascension of Christ into heaven that is recorded in the Gospels as well as the book of Acts. Because it is the passing of the torch, so to speak, between the earthly ministry of Christ and the beginning of the work of the church that Christ came to establish.
Now, I intentionally use the terms the earthly ministry of Christ and the church so that you and I don't get confused or disqualify ourselves from our work and responsibility in the earth today. First, let's talk about the term the earthly ministry. The reason I say earthly ministry of Christ is because he is still ministering.
He's just no longer doing it like he was doing when he was here on the earth. Now, he ministers in heaven where the Bible says he is seated at the right hand of God the Father according to Philippians chapter 2 and verse 9. In Hebrews chapter 4, verses 1 through 6, we read that he is our high priest ministering in heavenly places, making sacrifices for us of a more excellent ministry and a mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises.
The point is, Christ is still ministering. He's still working. He's still keeping his promises found in his word. Also, consider what Jesus said in John chapter 14, verses 2 and 3. He said, "In my Father's house are many mansions. If it were not true, I would have told you.
And if I go to prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to myself, that where I am, there you may be also." One of the things that Christ is working on is the preparation for when we all get to heaven. But look at this promise in verse in John 14 and consider what we read in Acts chapter 1.
In John 14, he says, "I will come again." It's the same promise from Acts chapter 1, verse 11. This same Jesus will return in like manner as you have seen him go. Now, here's the second thing that I want you to consider. This is not the end of Christ's ministry, but this is the beginning of the work of the church.
Not just the apostles. While it begins with the apostles, it includes everyone who calls Christ savior and Lord on the earth today. We are as much a part of the work as the apostles were. We have as much responsibility to fulfill the Great Commission now as they did then.
And the work will not end until Christ returns in the clouds just as he promised. In Ephesians chapter 2 verses 19 through 22, we're reminded that we are a part of the work that God is doing, that Christ began and the apostles continued, but is still required to be done even to this day.
Here's what Ephesians says. Having been built on the foundation of the apostles and the prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief cornerstone, in whom the whole building is being fitted together, grows into the holy temple in the Lord. The message, the point, we have work to do right here and right now.
Why? Because Jesus is coming back. And our responsibility is to do the work until he returns. He knows when that will be. It's not our job to worry about the timing. It's ours to do the work while we have time. The reason I want you to think of it not as the apostles' work or that Christ isn't still working is because sometimes we create the idea that we're just in some cosmic holding pattern waiting for the trumpet to sound instead of doing what he has commanded us to do.
And that is to go and make disciples, to preach the gospel to every nation. We're not here to watch and wait. We're here to work and do his will and build his kingdom. In Luke 19, Jesus told a very powerful parable of the kingdom. He said the nobleman went to a far country to receive a kingdom and to return.
And he called his servants and told them, "Do business until I come." The message, we have work to do. When you read the full parable in Luke 19, the servants were judged based on the work they did while the master was gone. The point is, you and I will be judged in the same way based on the work that we do while he is gone.
So now let's look again at Acts chapter 1 verses 10 through 11. It says, "And while they looked steadfastly towards heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, who also said, 'Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you have seen him go into heaven.'" Think about this scene.
The disciples have been through so much in the past few days. So many ups and downs. From the triumphal entry to the arrest. They are awestruck gazing at him as long as they can. Think of it. He was there and he was gone. He was arrested. He was crucified.
Then he rose again. And now he's gone again? Question, will he come back? Another question, what do we do now? Another question, where do we begin? And that's when they're interrupted by two men dressed in white who tell them clearly, "He will be back in the same way that you saw him leave."
He literally left in the clouds and he will literally come back in the clouds. I love their reassurance. This same Jesus. That's what the Bible says. Not a different one, but the same one. The same healer. The same savior. The same merciful and loving and faithful friend. The message is clear.
Jesus does not change with time. He doesn't move with politics. He doesn't adapt to the culture. He doesn't evolve. Hebrews 13 and 8 says, "He is the same yesterday, today, and forever." And so these men ask a question of the apostles that requires an answer. "Why do you stand there gazing?"
Jesus had given clear instructions. "Go. Make disciples of all nations." They weren't rebuking the disciples. They were reminding them, "You have work to do. It's going to start in Jerusalem, but it's going to go over all of the world." And I think that that's a question that should be asked and answered in this generation.
Why do we just stand there? Go to work. Preach the gospel. Make disciples. Love those who are broken. Be a witness to those who need to know. Stand firm when others refuse to be faithful. Shine your light where he sends you. And when you shine, shine in front of those that he sends you to.
The message is, "Don't just stand there. Do something." Why? Because this same Jesus is coming back. And when he comes, he's going to take a full account of what we did for him while he was gone. He's working in heaven and we should be doing his work here on the earth.
Consider the conversation that Jesus and the disciples are having just before he leaves. It begins in verse 6. In Acts chapter 1 and verse 6, the disciples ask, "Lord, will it this time you restore the kingdom to Israel?" They're still focused on their agenda and not his. They're saying, "Hey, now that you are alive, aren't you going to get rid of Rome?"
Jesus makes this point very clearly in verse 7. "It's not for you to know the seasons or the times which are the Father's and he has in his own authority." His point, don't worry about that. In the next verse, he tells them, "Go to work." He tells them, "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you and you shall be witnesses to me in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria and to the ends of the earth."
He's saying, "Don't worry about when I'm coming back. Don't worry about when Rome is going to leave. Focus on what you are supposed to be doing until he comes back. Witness to others. Witness to them about who he is and what he has done and what he can do for them."
People want to know all of the time, "Is the end near?" If it was near when the apostles were on the earth, it is certainly much closer now. And for certain, the prophets gave us clear signals about what would be happening on the earth when Christ would come again.
All of it has happened. Israel's rebirth in 1948, the return of the city of Jerusalem to Israel's control in 1967, the 10 prophetic signs of Daniel. Currently, the imminent war that exists with Iran and Russia, it's all happening. It has happened. And yet as remarkable as those realities are, Jesus would tell each of us, "Don't worry about that.
Just be a witness for me. Build my church. Do your job. Go into all the world." Which is why we have work to do. Will you help us do it? Our mission at this ministry, take all of the gospel to all of the world and to every generation helping others discover the difference that Christ can make in their life.
Our purpose is taken directly from the Great Commission. This is not a spectator sport. You and I have a role to play and a purpose in God's plan. Don't be caught standing there and gazing when this same Jesus returns. Be found faithful. Be found working. Be found doing what he sent us to do.
Because soon we who are alive and remain according to the Bible will be caught up to meet the Lord. And when this same Jesus returns we will always be with the Lord. These powerful principles and promises are found in Pastor Hagee's latest devotional from tomb to triumph. I not only want you to get a copy, but I want you to be reminded that the triumph that Christ has given us through his death and his resurrection should be a part of your victory each and every day.
God bless you and thank you for joining me for this Sunday conversation. If Jesus didn't rise from the dead, faith would have no meaning and hope would have no future. But Jesus did rise and the same power that raised Christ from the dead now lives in every believer.
