Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Good morning. Welcome to the house of the Lord. We're honored and excited that you are joining us today. It is Palm Sunday and we're lifting up the name of Jesus. Thank you for joining us as we ensure that the gospel is taken to the nations of the world.

My name is Michael Fernandez and together we're going to get ready for what we believe is going to be a powerful service that is going to bless you and your entire family. So gather your family, get your favorite cup of coffee, comfortable seat, because you and I are going to be taught the word of the Lord.

We love hearing where you're watching from. So in the comments below, be sure to indicate your location and how we might be able to pray for you. Matter of fact, there's a live interactive prayer wall available right now at jhm.org or giving you the opportunity to type in your prayer request so that people literally from around the globe will be able to believe with you for the miracle that you are needing in your life.

Our God still does miracles. He is a miracle worker. He is a chain breaker and he is able to bless, keep and sustain us in every avenue of life. So again, welcome to Cornerstone Church. Welcome to Hegy Ministries. As we prepare to receive the word of the Lord, we are in a sermon series that actually culminates today from our lead pastor, Matt Hegy, Dreams, the divine roadmap to your destiny.

Now, if you've missed the two previous messages, you can go to jhm.org and find 24hour, 7 days a week content so that you can grow in your relationship with the Lord. You can also subscribe to Heggy Ministries on YouTube and see the last two messages as we are confident it will bless your life.

Now today's message is the season of dreaming. A season of dreaming. Our focal text is found in Galatians 6:9, which encourages us to stay on task, to stay on point, not to lose heart because God is working and moving in areas that we may not be able to see or perceive, but his hand is at work.

And so we welcome today Tracy, God bless you. Thank you for joining us today. Isabelle from Canada, may the Lord bless you today. Thank you for joining us. We are praying for Linda as we celebrate yes Palm Sunday. This is the day that we begin to recognize how Jesus was ushered in with praises and singing.

And yet we also find the crucifixion by way you and I have access to the presence of God to healing transformation and the gift of eternal life. Carrie, welcome to the house of the Lord. Yes. Amen. and we are highly anticipating this service as well. Now, there's so many things that are happening in and around the ministry that we want you to be a part of.

We've been talking about Palm Sunday, but we also want you to be aware that tonight there is a very special gathering. We call it our big night. It is big night with ninetime Grammy Grammy nominee, fivetime GMA Dove Award winner. It is Natalie Grant. She will be in the house with us tonight, lifting up the name that is above every name.

And this is a free concert. That's right. So, we want you to bring your friends, bring your family, come to the house of the Lord so that we can lift up the name of Jesus together with our good friend Natalie Grant. She will be with us. Now, this is all happening and occurring as we prepare for h Holy Week.

Holy Week is up and cominging. Resurrection weekend services begin April the 3rd, 4th, and 5th. Uh you don't want to miss Good Friday. Good Friday is going to be a witness presentation. Experience the story of Jesus through the eyes of those that saw him on the cross. This is happening at 700 p.m.

Again, Friday, April the 3rd. This is for the entire family to be a part of. And then here in a moment we will be speaking about our resurrection weekend services. But before we do that we want to ensure that you are aware of what is happening with our summit.

Our KUFI summit is a highly anticipated event that many many people come together to ensure that we honor what God has called us to honor that we place focus and attention on our friends in Israel and lift up his name. This morning we have uh Miss Jordan uh that is going to share with us on what we can expect God to do in the life of those that choose to attend.

Jordan, God bless you. >> Hello. Good morning. Thank you for having me. >> Thank you for being here. You're very kind. Jordan, I believe you're going to be singing this morning. So, I I know that we've got to move you into the sanctuary very soon. But we wanted to talk about the summit.

This is a highly anticipated event. people love being a part of this and yet this year seems to be unique, seems to be with increased importance. Will you speak a little bit about that? >> Yes. So, the Christians United for Israel Summit happens every summer. This year it's happening July 5th through the 7th.

Um, and it happens at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland, just miles from uh the Capitol in DC. And this year is super important because it's America's 250th anniversary and our summit is happening on July 5th. So on July 4th, the entire city is going to be celebrating America's 250th anniversary.

So we encourage you to come early. uh come enjoy those festivities in DC and then stay for our summit and have three days jam-packed full of incredible speakers on the Middle East on um Israel, what's happening right now in the Middle East, why you as a Christian uh need to support Israel biblically, spiritually, the foundation of our faith and the Jewish people. um you know in everything that's happening right now why it's important now more than ever to make sure that you stand with Israel and the Jewish people and we want to provide you with the education and the tools to do so and this conference is the way to do that.

So, um again, if you saw on the screen, we have a special code for um our Cornerstone Church guests. Whether they are here physically with us or watching online, cornerstone 26 will get you 50% off of this event. What's also great about this event is we have something for everyone.

So, we have um our Camp Kufi from ages 5 to 15 years old. You can bring your entire family with you. So, while you as the adults are enjoying our programming, your kiddos are going to learn about Israel, about the Jewish people, how to bless them. They're going to learn more about America.

Uh they're going to go on incredible field trips to some of these great sites. They're going to actually get to see them firsthand. We have an incredible staff, a lot of whom are here from this church and are teaching our children here, will be coming with us to teach um your children there.

So, just want to make sure that you get your tickets now. Um, you know that you can book your flights, get your rooms. All of the room accommodations are on our website, coffi.org/summit. You can find all the information there. But we just wanted to make sure that we gave you all enough time to prepare uh for this incredible time that we're going to have this July. >> Amen.

This is an urgent call. This is an opportunity for us to not just see and hear what is happening in the area of uh Israel, but we could grow in our knowledge and understanding our biblical responsibility to bless and support Israel. We've heard it said that this is vacation with a purpose.

And if you've not been before, Jordan, will you explain what what that actually means? >> Sure. So, you know, we we do this in the summer. um to really help make sure that everyone has a chance to come. It's a time that you're going to be celebrating with your families anyway.

You know, because it's over Fourth of July weekend. I know that people are, you know, wanting to make plans and come together. And what better way to come together than in our nation's capital learning about important matters, important matters to you, important matters to your children and generations to come.

This is the time to come and do that. And it's just such an important year with just everything going on right now in the Middle East and you know the rise of anti-semitism and all of the things that we as believers need to make sure that we are educated on so that we can combat the lies with the truth. >> Absolutely.

And it was mentioned earlier that there is Camp Kufi and it's critical to see and understand that there is something for everyone at every age group. Camp Kufi is an opportunity for our students to grow in their knowledge and understanding of what God desires for them to place as a priority in their life.

This is July 6 and 7. Now, those that have never been to Camp Kufi, you mentioned some of the areas that they may be visiting. Might you know some of those areas that we could give our students an exciting opportunity to think about coming? >> Sure. Right now, we're still putting all the details together, but we um try to bring the students to some of the incredible museums that are in the area.

Um some of these museums, not only are you learning about America's history, but you're also learning biblical history and Jewish history within these museums. It's incredible the amount of um places that are in in DC that you may not even know are there. And we want to make sure that your children get the opportunity to go and to learn about it.

And like I said, with our staff coming here from this church and their incredible knowledge on how to teach children the importance to the importance of blessing Israel and standing with the Jewish people and then they're going to be able to impart that into your child, you know, if you bring them with you. >> Absolutely.

This is a safe environment. This is an environment of growth. This is an environment where the joy of the Lord is present for you and your entire family. We want you to register. If you are praying, pray quickly because spots are going to fill up. We want this to be strategic.

We want this to be intentional. Get your flights together. Get everything together because we believe that God is going to bless you at this summit and is going to encourage your life. So, this should be marked on your calendars as a mustattend event of the year. Jordan, God bless you. >> Thank you so much. >> Thank you for being here. >> Thank you. >> We again are moments away from our service.

We're thankful for Kufi and all that they are doing to prepare our hearts and posture us to see and understand the importance of supporting our brothers and sisters in Israel. Now again, we are moments away from our service. We're excited because our lead pastor, Matt Hegy, is culminating a sermon series, Dreams, the Divine Road Map to Your Destiny.

The focal text is Galatians 6:9. The title of today's message is a season for dreaming. Although we conclude this series, there's an opportunity for you to go back and rewatch these messages as many, many people have expressed what a blessing it has been to their lives to be able to grow in this series.

And so this morning, Linda, God bless you from Alabama. Thank you for watching. We're praying blessings over you and your family. Travis, God bless you to you and your family for watching as well. Debbie from Wisconsin, we're so excited that you've joined us today. Uh Francis from New Mexico, may the Lord bless you and keep you in all that you are doing.

Kathy, good morning to you as well. And Mac, God bless you from Maryland. As we prepare to lift up the name of Jesus together, we celebrate and understand that today is Palm Sunday. And this is a day that we see and understand Jesus coming into the triumphant entry into Jerusalem and how he would be uh later crucified.

But this leads us to Holy Week. This leads us to the opportunity to see and understand that through the death and resurrection of Jesus, we have life. We have purpose. We have joy. We have a destiny as our sermon series alludes to. and our destiny is to be with the Lord for the rest of our lives and to come.

And we are excited that you're joining us today. We encourage you to type in the comments below where you're watching from and how we might be able to pray for you in conjunction going to our live interactive prayer wall at jhm.org so that we can pray and believe God for the miracles that you are needing in your life.

We also want to mention again our resurrection weekend services. April the 3rd, the 4th, and the 5th. Resurrection weekend begins Friday. Uh and we have a special witness program, 700 p.m. And then Saturday, there is also going to be a service April the 4th at 5:00 p.m. And this is going to mirror what will happen on our Sunday gatherings.

Our Sunday gatherings again is at 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. This is a time to gather your entire family. Be in the house of the Lord. Lift up the name of Jesus. Join us for a powerful resurrection service both Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Again, Friday is going to be a live drama presentation for you to see and understand the point of view of those that were on the cross that looked upon Jesus and how it impacted their life.

We're going to be blessed to see and understand that God has a purpose and a plan for your life. Well, again, we're going into service. Let's pray and believe the Lord to bless us today. Father, in the mighty name of Jesus, we thank you for your presence. We thank you for your power.

We pray that today your name would be lifted up. We pray that everyone that is experiencing sickness, infirmity, a challenge in their health would experience your hand over their life. On Friday evening, we're going to have our Good Friday celebration with a Passion play entitled Witnesses. And then on Saturday evening is going to begin our resurrection celebration as we have a Saturday night service that is going to take place uh at 5:00 pm.

And then our regularly scheduled Sunday morning services 8:30 and 11:00. So we give you the opportunity to come and worship with your family and also understand uh what we have available for you and your guests as we get together and celebrate this resurrection. You know this is Palm Sunday.

This is the season in which we remember the triumphal entry of Jesus Christ. And when Christ came to Jerusalem just before his crucifixion, those who welcomed him believed that he had come to be king, not to be sacrificed for sinners, but to triumph over Rome and to liberate the Jewish people.

What I want you to remember this particular Palm Sunday is that soon and very soon Jesus Christ is indeed coming back and he will be king of kings and lord of lords and of his kingdom there shall be no end. >> Amen. >> Dad, you and I were talking this morning about how important and how pivotal uh the next few weeks are in the world for many many reasons and what we as a church can be doing and praying about right now that would have impact.

Yes, Matt. The the crisis in the Middle East literally has World War III hanging in the balance. Iran vows never to accept humiliation, humiliation in defeat as America plans a ground operation with 10,000 Marines to liberate that oil they have in captivity. Right now, today the Trump administration is meeting uh with the uh people that they need to meet with in Pakistan.

Russia is helping Iran stay in this fight. You need to get that in your mind. We are literally fighting Russia and Iran at the same time. America is deploying more uh forces in the Middle East uh as this conflict enlarges. We have 10,000 Marines there. Now the fact is here's the key.

This war threatens the oil and gas supply for Iran and for Russia and for China. Those three nations are helping our adversary defeat us. This is a very explosive situation. The Iranians are Islamic people who believe it's their manifest destiny according to Allah to rule the world. And to rule the world, they have to defeat America.

So they are swearing to fight to the death of America is saying we're coming to get that oil. There are perilous times right in front of us. We need to pray for our nation for our leaders because this is all happening as I'm talking to you. God says, "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

They shall prosper that love you." Historically in the Bible and past Bible times, when Israel is at war, the world is at war. When Israel has peace, God gives the world peace. That's why the Bible says, "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. They shall prosper that love you."

If you love America, prayer is the most important thing you can do right now. And that's what I want us to do as we pray for this as we pray for this offering. Our most gracious heavenly father, look from the balconies of heaven into this auditorium and into the thousands of homes right now in this nation as we pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

May the Lord God Almighty give to us that peace. I ask you, Father God, to give our our leaders the wisdom to to guide us. I ask you, Father, for our the protection of our military personnel. You know all of the complications of this of this situation. Prince of peace, work it out where there is not a major war starting and that there is peace on the face of the earth.

In Jesus' name we pray. Amen. >> Amen. >> Go ahead and tell us to this ministry is by the receiving of tithes and offerings. I'm going to ask our ushers to take their positions so that they can help us worship the Lord with giving today. Those of you who are watching, you too can participate.

Simply go to sacornstone.org on your computer or text the word give on your smartphone to 2110882300. Call us at 855-6949653 or write P. Box 34-930, San Antonio, Texas 78265. Heavenly Father, bless this offering as we receive it today. May your goodness and your mercy prosper those who are obedient to your word.

In Jesus name we pray. Amen. >> God bless you as you give. We thank you for your praying and your giving. It is being used to touch the nations of the world. If you have a prayer request, this is a time in our segment that we pray for the requests that have been mentioned.

We also want to thank you because it is through your giving we are able to see lives touched, set free by the power of God. Our God still heals. He still restores. He still uh continues to meet every need in our lives. So Kevin, right now we're praying for you out of Orlando, Florida.

That your body would come under the subjection of the power of God. That your marriage would be restored. That your body would be restored in Jesus' name. Teresa from Pennsylvania, we connect with you and believing for the addiction to be broken from your family. That every grip of darkness would be eradicated by the power of Jesus Christ. and that you would experience healing and restoration like no other.

We're praying for Pauline from Kentucky. We're praying for victory. We're praying for success over the legal situation that you are encountering. We pray that the great defender Jesus would advocate you and bless you and keep you in all that you are doing. He is able to sustain you.

He is able to cause great things to happen. We're praying again for those online. Angela, God bless you. We're praying for you. Jenna, we're praying for your marriage in Jesus' name. That God would fortify it, bless it, and heal it by the power of God. Birdie, we're praying for complete healing over your body in the name of Jesus.

That his hand would be upon you today. Again, we're praying for Bill for healing. That the hand of God would touch Bill right now. We agree with Maryanne right now in the name of Jesus for Bill's body. Jack, we're praying and asking the Lord to bless you during this Palm Sunday that his presence would engulf you and your entire family.

Thank you again those that have been praying and giving toward this ministry. We're seeing lives transformed and touched by the power of God. Let's go back to service as we continue to lift up the name of Jesus. God bless you. Thank Rejoice in everything that has rej. >> I was created for a purpose.

An instrument that magnifies. Out of the shadows, out of the darkness. I'm walking in your marvelous light. So we sing, rejoice, rejoice. Let everything that has >> Oh, we sing. Rejoice, rejoice. Again I say again I say rejoice rejoice again again and again again rejoice again again I say again I say rejoice again Again, again, again, again, I say rejoice, rejoice again.

I say rejoice, rejoice, rejoice. He could have all his splendor greater than the eye has ever seen. See, he could have come in robes of scarlet so all the world would see that he was king. He could have ridden on a white horse as a warrior and conquered every land.

Oh, but he knew that his redemption's price were paid. It would take a lamb. It took a lamb to die upon a rugged cross. It took the lamb. Only blood could pay the cost. Nothing else could take away my sin. That is why the great I am didn't come as a king because he knew it took a years alers were sing.

And though the blood appeased to the father, still the curse of sin, it was never wiped away until one day the rule of justice was halted by a touch from mercy's head. Oh, mercy's head. And as the father in compassion said, "It's time to sin the spotless lamb."

The spotless lamb. Oh lord. Only blood could pay could take away my sin. the great I am. Did he come as a king because he knew it took the Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. away my sin. That is why great I am. He didn't come as a king because he Oh, Last week we defined that a dream is God giving you a glimpse of the destiny that he has in your tomorrow.

When God gives you a glimpse, he doesn't tell you all the details, but he does put one hand of his sovereign grace on your life and another hand on your destiny. And then according to his word, he starts working out all things together for your good until he brings you into the fulfillment of what he's promised you.

That means that no matter who you are today, no matter where you've come from, no matter what you've been through, no matter what the world has to say about you or what they think about you, you need to know that the creator of heaven and earth is pulling you to a divine destiny that he designed for you before the world even began.

And if you are willing to put your faith in him, if you are willing to stand upon his promise, if you are able to say, "God, I believe, all things are possible to those who believe. If God has to move mountains, he can do that. If God has to calm storms, he's done that.

But whatever you do, have faith in God." Would you please stand for the reading of God's word? And if you brought your Bibles, turn them to Galatians, the 6th chapter, the 9th verse. As this morning, we conclude the series on dreams, the divine road map to your destiny with this message, a season for dreaming.

Throughout this series, we've looked at the promise of God's word, both from the prophet Joel and on the day of Pentecost in the book of Acts, in which the Lord said he would pour out his spirit and that your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall have visions.

God is going to give you a glimpse of what he wants you to accomplish. And those verses end with, "And whosoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved." Last week, we ended the service by giving you the opportunity to do just that. To call upon the name of the Lord, to confess, Lord, I need your help to accomplish this dream that you've put in my heart.

I challenged you in last week's message to write down the vision according to what the Bible says in Habach 2 and 2, write the vision and make it plain. And I shared with you how Pastor Hegy did that very thing 35 years ago. I want to show you the Bible page that we took out of that Bible once we recognized that everything that was written here had been accomplished.

I've got the media team to put it up on the screen so you can see it's not something we fabricated last week just to prove the point. It's well worn and weathered. But in 1991 while attending a conference in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the message that night was to write the vision and make it plain.

So pastor wrote in the back of his Bible that he wanted to build a full power TV station in San Antonio, Texas that would be the base for a national network in America for the purpose of evangelism in America. Now remember that your dream has got to connect with God's dream.

And God's dream comes out of his word. When your mission is to take all of the gospel to all of the world, evangelism is part of God's dream for your life. A dream is just a glimpse. God doesn't give you the full measure of the reality. It's just a glimpse.

And today, because of digital networks and because of internet television, we are in 128 nations right now. And there are people all over the United States of America who can hear this message through the ministry of Hegy Ministries, the building that you see on the screen there. For more than 40 years, this ministry has been reaching this nation and the nations of the world for the glory of God and the power of his gospel.

The next statement says, "To build a New Testament church filled with signs and wonders that will bless the city of San Antonio." About a year ago this week, we cut the ribbon on vision 2020. We made a promise to the next generation with that commitment to our children and to our grandchildren that Cornerstone Church was going to be here for each and every one of them.

Cornerstone would still be a refuge when they were tired and weary. It would be a training center to give them hope and a life of victory. This church would be a spiritual oasis for them to come and drink the living waters of the word of God whenever they were thirsty and needed to be refreshed.

The next statement that pastor writes is to build a conference center that will receive the nations of the world to restore and unite to train and to teach to bless the broken and the discouraged to heal the sick and see deliverance from oppression. The last statement says all of this to be done for the glory of God the father for his son Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit on the 18th of June 1991.

Now, that was 35 years ago. That was just a glimpse of what God wanted to accomplish through this ministry. By God's grace, we have a campground in Tarpley, Texas, where hundreds of young people go each and every year and are blessed, where men and women gather to be taught and to be trained, where people have gone and been prayed for for deliverance and for healing.

Through the new expansion that we have here at Cornerstone, we have the ability to bring in thousands of people for the purpose of holding conferences and training. Through our Cornerstone Christian Schools campus, we have more than 2,000 young people who are gathering there each and every day, not only to receive a world-class education and tremendous opportunities, but they're surrounded in an atmosphere of faith where God's word is the foundation of everything that they are being taught.

Through the sanctuary of hope, we are breaking generational cycles and we are seeing God transform and change lives as we are giving young ladies an alternative to the answer that the world gives, which is abortion. 35 years ago, if you would have said, "Pastor, here's how all of that's going to happen," it would have been beyond his ability to believe it.

But because God gave him a glimpse of it then, God was willing to show it to him now. God did it by his grace. God did it because he is a man that he will not lie. If the word comes out of his mouth, it will not return void.

GOD DID IT BECAUSE HE PROMISED, "IF YOU CALL UPON ME, I'll show you great and mighty things that you know not." GOD DID IT BECAUSE HIS word says, "No good thing will he withhold from those who DILIGENTLY SEEK HIM." GOD DID IT BECAUSE ALL THINGS ARE possible to those who believe. church.

God did it because he is the same yesterday, he is the same today, and he is the same forever. AND IF YOU HAVE THE COURAGE to put your faith in him, he will prove HIMSELF FAITHFUL TO YOU. GOD DID IT. AND FOR GOD, HE DESERVES ALL OF THE GLORY, ALL OF THE HONOR, ALL OF THE PRAISE.

BLESS his name in this sanctuary today. Today I share this with you because I want you to leave here today believing that it is a season for dreaming. If you have enough faith and are willing to do the work, God will do the rest. >> Let's read Galatians chapter 6 and verse 9.

If you found the verse, say amen. >> And let us not grow weary while doing good. For in due season, say due season. >> Due season. >> Say it like you want to see it. >> Due season. >> For in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. >> Amen. >> Heavenly Father, your word is alive and it is powerful.

Let your Holy Spirit speak to us today as we enter into a season in which your promises become reality in our lives. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. And amen. I promised you I'd give this back right after I was done with it. I took that off his wall this morning.

He said, "Where you going with that?" He trusts me but he also likes to verify things. Galatians chapter 6 and verse 9 there's a very simple statement but it is very profound and it simply says due season. Due season is a season for dreamers. In every dream there's two parts.

There's your part and there's God's part. And until you are willing to do yours, God cannot do his. James, as we mentioned last week, says, "Faith without works is dead." I told you, God hits moving targets. When you begin moving in the direction that God wants you to go, he starts giving you the opportunity to see his hand in your life.

But until you move, he can't do anything. In Galatians 6 here in verse 9, we discover that it's not just doing your part, but it's also important how you do your part. In verse 7 of Galatians 6, it says, "Do not be deceived. God is not mocked. Whatever you sow, you will reap.

If you sow poorly, you reap poorly. If you sow abundantly, you reap how?" Abundantly. If you sow with excellence, you reap what? Excellence. When you saw the vision come to life that pastor had written down in his Bible, did you see anything that had been constructed that was not constructed at the highest level of excellence?

No. Why? Because if you're doing it for the Lord, you do it the very best that you absolutely can. This transaction that Galatians is speaking about is specifically between you and the Lord because it is only you and the Lord that know whether or not you're doing your very best.

You can fool others, but you cannot fool God. >> Now, it's one thing to do your best once in a while, but Galatians chapter 6 and verse 9 says that if you are not doing your best consistently, your occasional effort does not qualify you for due season. What is due season?

Due season is the time when all that you have sown is brought back into your life. We live in summer and spring and winter and fall. In Texas, we live in summer and summer and summer and then a cold spell. But for those who have faith in God, there's not just four seasons.

There's a fifth season, and it's due season. And due season is the appointed time in what you sow is brought back to you. This word due is something you're familiar with. At the end of every month, the credit card that you're enslaved to sends you a message that says the bill is what?

Due. And God is saying in Galatians chapter 6 through the Holy Spirit that you can go through the summer and through the winter and through the spring and through the fall. And how you sow when the fifth season of due season shows up is how you are going to reap.

When God sees you consistently doing your very best year in and year out, day in and day out, season in and season out, he looks down from heaven and he says, "That child, that son, that daughter, that man, that woman, that one right there qualifies for due season."

Due season comes in God's time, not your time. 1991 is a long time from 2026, but because of the consistency and the excellence and the willingness to continue to do the work, God brought everything that was written down to pass and so much more. Due season is when the mountains begin to move.

Due season is when that breakthrough in your life happens. Due season is when the windows of heaven are opened up and you begin to receive blessings pressed down, shaken together, and running over that you cannot contain. Due season is when that prayer that you've been consistently praying gets answered.

Due season is when that burden that you've been carrying for too long gets lifted. Due season is when the enemy that HAS HARASSED YOU FOR DECADES IS GONE in a day. Due season is when the crooked way is made straight and a broken body is mended and HEALED AND A SHATTERED HEART IS PUT BACK TOGETHER.

Due season is when marriages are restored and the healing hand of God touches your home. DUE SEASON IS WHEN PRODIGALS WHO HAVE BEEN IN THE FAR COUNTRY come under the arrest of the HOLY SPIRIT OF GOD AND COME BACK TO THE HOUSE OF THE LIVING GOD WITH A NEW HEART AND LIVE A NEW LIFE and are free because whom the sun sets free is free indeed.

CHURCH, I CAME TO TELL YOU TODAY THAT GOD HAS A DUE SEASON IN YOUR TOMORROW. BUT IT'S HOW YOU SEW YOUR LIFE TODAY THAT QUALIFIES YOU WHEN DUE SEASON COMES. >> What you do today determines how it happens when you get there. And that's why the Bible says, "Do not grow weary." >> Say that with me.

Do not grow weary. If there is one thing that is lacking in this culture in the United States, it is the willingness to persevere. We are addicted to comfort. But if you want to receive exceptional things, you have got to get comfortable being uncomfortable. >> Do not grow weary.

The message, persevere. Don't give up. Don't lose heart. Don't slow down. As the old folks used to say. I used to say old folks. The older I get, I'm just saying folks. Keep on keeping on because anything that is worth having is worth persevering for. Anything that is worth having is worth persevering for.

What is perseverance? Perseverance is not a brief moment of performance. Perseverance is not doing right when everything is right. Anybody can do well when they are at their best. Anyone can look good when the conditions are perfect. But perseverance is performing consistently no matter how difficult the conditions get.

And anything worth having requires perseverance. Apply it to anything in your life. A marriage worth having requires perseverance. Passion gets it started, but perseverance keeps it going. A consistent effort to love and be patient and to live in the matrimony of the word of God. NO MATTER HOW DIFFICULT THE situation gets, it adds up to perseverance.

Do you know why 70% of the marriages in the United States and this generation fail? Because people are not willing to persevere. They pick and they choose which portion of the wedding vows they want to live by. They sign up for better, but when it's worse, they decide that this isn't what they deserve.

They refuse to persevere, and they blame the faults of the relationship on the flaws of the other person, never taking into account that they're a part of the equation. They're not in it for better. They're in it for best. And if they don't get the best, they check out.

Let me tell you young people something that you need to know. Love is not about the person that you're crazy about. That's how you get into a dating relationship. I'm crazy about him. Okay. Love is when they drive you crazy and you can't live without them. That's love.

Oh, I'm crazy about him. Good for you. But when he drives you crazy and you can't live without him, now you're in love. You have to persevere. People will live in plenty, but they won't persevere through want. People will live in joy, but they won't persevere through sorrow.

People will live in health, but when sickness shows up, they don't have the willingness to stick it out. If you want to have a marriage worth having, it requires perseverance. Perseverance that says, "I love you more today than I did the day we say I do. I love you because you persevered with me.

You stood right beside me. I love you because you believed in my best when I was at my worst. I love you because when I was afraid to dream, you encouraged me that I could do all things. I love you because when I was down, you were the one who picked me up.

I love you because in my darkest days, you pointed me towards the light. I love you because when my heart broke, you're the one who PUT IT BACK TOGETHER. I LOVE YOU BECAUSE WHEN I lost my song, you were the one who sang for me. I love you because when I was out of my mind, you patiently waited until I gained control again.

I love you because we have persevered. We have prevailed. AND WHAT GOD HAS BROUGHT TOGETHER. Let no man put us under, CHURCH. THAT'S THE kind of love that conquers all. AND IT REQUIRES perseverance to do it. You want a business worth having, you're going to have to persevere.

If you want to get there, you're going to have to give everything you've got to do it. If you say, "I want to be successful," the world does not take a step back and say, "Well, pardon us while you succeed." You're going to have to struggle. You can't graduate in May and be a CEO next March.

You may have read the same book the CEO read, but you haven't done what the CEO has done and persevered to get there. You have to be willing to work like no one else is willing to work. You have to understand the risks and be willing to take the risks.

Nothing in life happens without risk. You have to consistently produce what other people cannot live without if they're going to continue to see you as a service. That kind of work requires perseverance. People say, "Well, it's not fair. The conditions aren't favorable." Conditions have never been perfect and they have never been favorable.

But those who are willing to persevere are the ones who succeed. Anyone can look like a Forbes 500 CEO when the stock market is roaring like a raging wildfire. Anyone can build a career whenever any whenever the economy is strong, but it takes tenacious perseverance to pull through situations when it's less than favorable.

You may not be able to do it like you did it last year. You may have to make some adjustments that others aren't willing to make. But listen to me. It's better to make adjustments by your choice than by the force. You'd rather face a financial storm on your terms than have your future dictated to you.

Is it easy? No. No one said it would be. But God, he's the one who promised that he would give you the power to get wealth. He's the one who promised that he is able if you are willing. >> God is looking for those who are willing to persevere.

What does it take to build a church that is worth having? Perseverance. What does it take to have a ministry that reaches the world? Perseverance. What does it take to have 68 years in full-time gospel ministry? Perseverance. It's not a fluke. It's not luck. It's not destiny. It's not anything less than a monumental testimony to perseverance.

Perseverance that refuses to compromise the truth when the world ridicules you for willing to take a stand for Jesus Christ. Perseverance that will stand up and speak up even when others don't consider it popular to say. Perseverance that holds on to the promises of God, even when others abandon you and walk away.

Perseverance that will press through what the powers and principalities of hell have attacked you with, knowing that by God's promise, no weapon formed against you should prosper. perseverance that is willing to say, "I am not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ, for it is still the power OF SALVATION."

THE WORLD MAY consider it ridiculous and irrelevant, but it is still the truth. And the flower may wither and fade, but his word, it will endure forever. Church, it is perseverance that wins the day. Give the Lord a hand clap of praise. When you use a word like perseverance, you need to define it because a lot of people have a broad definition.

People talk about persevering and enduring and then they describe something ridiculous like the holidays with your in-laws. That's not perseverance. It may be irritating, but it will be over soon. So for our purposes, let's define perseverance. Perseverance by definition are three words that when put together give you a better picture of what perseverance truly requires.

Those words are discipline, duty, and devotion. Discipline, duty, and devotion. If you're going to be a person who perseveres, you have to be a disciplined person. And the Bible teaches clearly that a life lived without discipline is a life that is out of control. Proverbs 25 and28, "Whoever has no rule over his own spirit is like a city with broken down walls."

In the time of the Bible, the walls of a city determined its ability to defend itself. And if a wall was not between you and the enemy, the enemy could come in and take control. Discipline is what gives you the healthy barriers in your life that give you control over your outcome.

You can't control what's on the outside of the wall, but you better have a wall of discipline between you and it or the barrier means there is no control. The Apostle Paul had a lot to say to the New Testament church about discipline. And simply stated in the verse, he says, "All things in moderation."

Say that with me. All things in moderation. That's not a statement of portion. That's a statement of discipline. All things in moderation. It's a statement of self-discipline. Knowing where your barriers need to be. The areas of excess in your life are areas that are out of control. And if you do not have discipline to control the excess, it will destroy you.

Without discipline in your physical body, you'll suffer in your health. Without discipline in your financial life, you'll be a slave to the lender. Visa will look forward to your paycheck more than you do. If you think you can live without discipline, you're mistaken. Without discipline in your spiritual life, you won't be able to take a stand in the evil day and accomplish what the Bible directs, which is to endure hardness as a good soldier and overcome.

You may be talented, you may have resources, you may be educated, you may have opportunity, and talent and education and opportunity may take you to the top, but it is only discipline that keeps you to the top. >> Because what got you there won't keep you there. If you're going to live a life of discipline and you're going to persevere, then you need to understand the second part, which is duty.

Duty. When we hear the word duty, we're oftentimes describing soldiers and first responders and law enforcement who are under a command and a commission and they're carrying out their orders and their responsibilities. Often times when we speak of individuals who are doing their duty, we find them as valiant heroes and we say that they should be celebrated.

And when you celebrate them and you pin a medal on their chest humbly, they say, "I was just doing my duty." We look at them being away from their families and in harm's way as heroic. They just consider it part of the job. I think it is absolutely tragic and vile that this week in the United States there was a protest in which the audience was celebrating the death of our armed forces and our servicemen and women and saying that each casket that carried one of our soldiers should be celebrated.

That is a sad testament to the sick condition of some people in this nation. But I think that it is important that for every voice that rises in opposition to those who are serving this nation, they need to hear from thousands who support them. So if you believe that our servicemen and women deserve to be celebrated, would you let them hear you now?

God bless you troops. Simply stated, duty is not what we want to do. Duty is what we ought to do. Duty is what gives you the strength to sacrifice. It requires that a price has to be paid in order for you to succeed. If you think that you can accomplish your duty without discipline, good luck.

No spiritual discipline means that you have dysfunction. One of the reasons that the army of the living God is dysfunctional is because we're not disciplined. And every one of us need to apply discipline to our duty in order to accomplish our purpose. Each and every one of you have a duty.

You have a responsibility. You have something that you are to protect and you are to serve. And in order to keep that charge, you are going to have to live the life that God commanded in his word. I have a duty and a role to play as a husband and a father.

I have to protect and to serve my family. I have to lead them in the ways of righteousness according to the word of God. I can't live at home outside of his word and expect his blessings to be upon my house. In order to do this, I have to have discipline that gets up and goes to work and doesn't complain about the work I get up and go to, but considers my work a sacrifice of worship to the God who gave me the ability to work.

Why is that important? BECAUSE I'VE GOT sons and daughters at home and if I teach them that work is a burden and a curse, what makes you think that when they get old, they're going to want a job? >> If you celebrate something around your dinner table, your children will desire it.

You celebrate work, you celebrate marriage, you celebrate family, you'll have kids who want to work, get married, and bring you grandkids. >> Amen. >> You complain about those things. Don't be upset when they bring you a cat for Christmas. I'm a son. As a son, I have a duty to keep.

The Bible says to honor my father and mother. That's not a responsibility that leaves the second that I leave the house. In order to honor my father and mother, I have to not only do what the Bible says, but have the discipline to behave in a manner that is pleasing not only to God, but to them.

In doing my duty, I protect and I serve. I protect them from their old age. Because the Bible says in Psalms that like arrows in the quiver of a warrior, so are children in the hand of a man. It is my job to see that my father is watched over.

That's protection and service. And it is my responsibility to to keep the legacy of his name. As a pastor, I have a duty. For every role, there's a responsibility. My duty according to the word of God is to preach the word in season and out of season. As a brother in Christ, I have a duty and that is to pray one for another for my brothers and sisters in Christ to intercede on your behalf to go into heavenly places and make warfare and ask God to remove the barriers between your life and his blessings.

If as a father I refuse to protect my family. If as a pastor I refuse to do what GOD HAS REQUIRED. IF AS A BROTHER IN CHRIST I'm not doing what I'm responsible to do. I cannot complain about the lack of results BECAUSE I AM A part of the problem.

Do your duty. One of the reasons that we have such a sick society is because pastors ARE FILLING PULLPITS WITH POP PSYCHOLOGY AND NOT THE WORD OF God theology. Listen to me, pastors. Listen to me, pastors. Every week you stand in front of people who are tired and weary and ravaged by THE WORLD.

WHEN THEY FIND THEIR WAY into your church, it is not an accident. It is a holy and a sacred privilege. Do your duty. Help them find the weathering word of God as a shelter in the storm. Give them strength for the journey. IT IS A TWO-EDGED SWORD. USE IT TO RIGHTLY divide the word of truth until captives are set free and powers and principalities are destroyed.

But above all else, exalt the mighty name of Jesus because his name is the NAME THAT IS ABOVE every name. One of the greatest problems we face in this generation is that there are too many people who are not willing to do what they ought to do. They are willing to do everything they want to do, but they run from the responsibility that they should do.

We're talking about perseverance. And what you need to understand is that until you are willing to do your responsibility, you have no hope of persevering. All too often, people talk about perseverance, but they refuse to get started with their responsibility. You need to know that you will never truly enjoy life until you take responsibility for something.

One of the reasons that I believe mental health is such a crisis in this generation is because we have a generation that is being raised without purpose. >> They have been told that they are awesome but at what? They need purpose. And the reason they need purpose is because that's how God designed mankind.

Hardwired for purpose. When God created Adam, God placed him in a garden. And what did he do? He gave him purpose. He said, "Tend it and keep it." Now, when you read the Bible, what you find is that God gave Adam a purpose and a responsibility and a job before he gave him a wife. >> Amen.

So if you knock on my door looking for one of my daughters, you better have a job and a responsibility and a purpose. Every one of us as a child of God are hardwired with a charge to keep and a duty to perform. If you want to see a picture of someone in the word of God who is willing to persevere in their responsibility, look at the prophet Samuel in 1st Samuel chapter 8.

He's the prophet and the high priest in Israel. That's not a small responsibility. It's the prophet who has the responsibility to bring the word of the Lord to the people. And it is the priest who has the responsibility of bringing the people before God. If God wanted to say something to Israel, he talked to Samuel.

If God needed something from the people, they came to Samuel. In the book of Hebrews, we read that Jesus Christ is our high priest. That's a beautiful picture because when we want to go to the father, we go in Jesus' name. And when God wanted to reach us, he sent his only begotten son.

Samuel has a job to do and it's no small responsibility. But in the seventh verse of the eth chapter, Samuel gets fired. Israel comes to him and they say, "WE'RE TIRED OF JUST HAVING A PROPHET and not having a king we can see. We want to be like everybody else and we want a king that we can touch.

We want a king that we can see. We want somebody on the throne who rules over us. Now, forget all of the things that God had done for them. Forget the parting of the Red Sea. Forget the mana from heaven. Forget the walls of Jericho. WE'RE TIRED OF A GOD THAT we can't see.

We need somebody we can touch. And God tells Samuel, he says, "Heed the voice of the people, for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected me." God said to Samuel, "Don't worry about losing your job. I'll take care of you. The children of Israel are dealing with me.

The thing that shows you how much Samuel's willing to do his responsibility and fulfill his commission is not in the is not in the fact that he was willing to step aside. But the thing that shows us Samuel's heart comes in verse 12. He's giving his farewell address to the children of Israel.

He said, "You've asked for a king. You're going to get a king. The king is going to tax you. The king is going to commission your children into the military. The king is going to take your property. He's going to take your sons. He's going to take your daughters.

Congratulations. You're going to get what you want." Some things in government just don't change. And in verse 23, Samuel turns the conversation from Israel to himself. In 1st Samuel 8 and 23, he says, "But as for me," say that with me, "but as for me," how many of you see responsibility there?

He says, "This is what I'm going to do. Far be it from me that I should sin against the Lord in ceasing to pray for you." He's saying God is the one who made me a priest and God is the one who commissioned me to be a prophet.

And if you are done with the priest and the prophet, the priest and the prophet are not done with you because God's not done with me. So I'm going to keep doing what I'm responsible to do even if you don't want me to do it. Can you serve like that?

When people reject the goodness of your heart, can you continue to be good? When people turn away from your kindness, can you continue to be kind? When people reject what you're offering them, can you continue to offer it without apology? Doing your duty requires perseverance. And the Bible tells us in 1 Corinthians 10 and31, "Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God."

Why? Because it is God who gave you that responsibility. It is God who gave you that responsibility. Others may quit on you, but don't quit on them because when you quit on them, you are turning away from your duty. And when your duty perseveres, that's when God sends a breakthrough.

The third element of perseverance is devotion. Devotion. And devotion is simply the passion inside of you that drives you to do your duty and be disciplined. In order for you to have this kind of devotion, you have to be willing to love others more than yourself. The Bible said, Paul speaking to Timothy, in the end times, perilous times would come because men would be lovers of themselves.

Jesus Christ said, "Love one another." Say that with me. Love one another as I have loved you. He loved him. He loved us so much that he gave everything. If you're going to have devotion, you have got to love like he loved. You've got to do what he did, and you've got to have the perseverance to see it prevail.

Church, there is a due season in your future, but how you sow determines what you reap when that season comes. If you dream and put your faith in God, God is watching each and every day. And the consistency that you live with discipline, do your duty, and devote yourself to his purpose is when the clouds roll back and that dream becomes a reality. >> I'm praying that this season in your life, God gives you the due season that you've dreamed of. >> Give the Lord a hand clap of praise.

Would you stand to your feet? Father, I thank you that every promise that is in your word is true and that we have the opportunity today in faith believing in the mighty name of Jesus to go into heavenly places and to see that promise come to pass in our lives.

Father, there are people in this sanctuary and those who are watching all over this United States and all over this world who have faithfully, consistently, through perseverance poured out their heart, soul, mind, and strength to see that dream come to pass that you've placed in their life. God, I'm asking you to give them a due season to let them see the goodness of God in their life in the land of the living.

Father, you know exactly who they are, where they are, and what they need. And you have promised us in your word that you would supply all of our needs according to your riches and glory. So for those who are praying for a family to be restored, I ask that you remove every hindrance and every barrier.

For those who are praying for a physical body to be healed, I pray that the supernatural power of the living God would conquer sickness and disease and every ailment. For those who are praying for financial breakthrough, I pray Lord that every seed that they have sown would be multiplied and increased in their life.

But above all, heavenly father, I pray that when they receive the answer, when that due season comes, they would give all glory and all honor and all praise to God because you are the one to whom all praise, all glory, and all honor is due in Jesus' name we pray.

And all of God's children said, "Praise the Lord." Would you give the Lord a hand clap of praise in this house today? How many of you have written down the things you would like for God to do in your life? How many of you have? That's about half.

I dare you to try it. God dares you to try it. Write it down. Believe God will do it. Don't expect him to do it before Saturday night, but just keep on believing. It will come to pass. It's God's promise and he can make it happen and only he can make it happen.

Here's more teaching from the word of God. >> The Bible tells us that on the final week of the life of Christ. As he came towards Jerusalem, he came up from the Judeian desert. He came up from the backside of the Mount of Olives.

And in Matthew the 21st chapter, we read about the first day of his final week here on this earth in his earthly ministry. The Bible tells us, "Now when they drew near to Jerusalem, they came to Beth Fage at the Mount of Olives. And then Jesus sent two of his disciples, saying, go into the village opposite you, and immediately you will find a donkey and a colt with her. loose them and bring them to me.

Jesus gives his disciples very specific instructions about where to find the animal that he would ride in what we have come to call the triumphal entry. This is the moment that we've all heard about where the streets were lined with people in Jerusalem waving palm branches and shouting hosana to the son of David.

Hosana in the highest. Often times we've interpreted the palm branches to mean a number of things. But the reality is those in Jerusalem were waving the palm branches as a sign to Rome that the rebellion was about to begin that their conquering king had arrived. But Jesus had not arrived as a conquering king.

He came humbly. Being a Jewish man, he understood history. He knew that whenever the kings of Israel were wanting to demonstrate that they were willing to lead the nation that they didn't ride on a horse like a conquering general. Oftentimes they rode on a donkey. Whenever David was passing away and Solomon was to take his throne, he ordered that a donkey be prepared.

Why? It was a sign of humility, a sign of submission, a sign of saying, "I am here to serve you in my leadership." Jesus understanding this was giving all of those in Israel at the time a signal that he was not only here, but he was here to serve in his leadership.

One of his disciples asked him a question. They said, "Is it appropriate for them to be crying out like this?" His simple answer is a familiar phrase that we've heard throughout the centuries. If they do not worship me, the rocks will cry out. To this day, in the Judeian desert, it is covered from top to bottom, from mountain top to seaside in rocks.

Could you consider what Jesus was saying? If these hundreds of thousands of people did not glorify my name, then every rock would cry out. Why? Because just as Jesus was there in the beginning, he was the one who had created the rocks. They knew where they came from.

They knew who had created them. They knew who was in charge of the universe. Do you? Jesus Christ is not a conquering general. He will not march into your life and demand your submission. He's a humble servant and he wants you to willingly accept him. As we begin this resurrection celebration, as we begin the first day of this week remembering his humble, willing death, crucifixion, salvation, and resurrection, would you willingly accept him?

Would you receive him as king? If you have received him, would you give him the glory that he's worthy of? Because I assure you, every rock is waiting to cry out who the real King is. There is coming a day very soon when Jesus Christ will come back to the city of Jerusalem.

Except this time, he's not going to come down a desert trail covered with rocks. He's not going to walk in on a donkey humbly. The Bible says that he will come and put his foot on the Mount of Olives. That he will split the Cedron Valley and walk into the eastern gate.

That when he comes, he is not going to be a humble savior. He is going to be a Messiah. He is going to be a deliverer. He is going to be king of kings and lord of lords. And when he comes, every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that he is Lord to the glory of God the Father.

You see, the question this resurrection week is not if you're going to bow, it's when you're going to bow. Will you bow to him now as your savior, or will you bow to him soon when he sits on the throne? He is indeed the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.

So I say as they said thousands of years ago, hosana, blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Walking here in the streets of Jerusalem, you get a feel for how busy it can be. It's relatively quiet today, but on the day when Jesus made the triumphal entry, I assure you there wasn't hardly any room to make a move.

Not only had pilgrims come from so many foreign lands to celebrate the festivities of the high holy days of Passover, but they also were expecting the promise of a deliverer. They had heard that there was a man in Galilee who could raise the dead, feed thousands, and make the lame to leap again.

They called him Messiach. They shouted, "Hosana. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord." as Christ Jesus of Nazareth entered the city. As a matter of fact, in Matthew the 21st chapter, the 10th verse, it says, "When Jesus had come into Jerusalem, all of the city was moved, saying, who is this?"

You know, whenever you consider those who were in power, they wanted to know who is this? The Romans wanted to know who is this? Is he really a king? Does he have authority? Can he overthrow us? The Pharisees who were working with the Romans to maintain control of the city of Jerusalem wanted to know, "Who is this?

Why doesn't he work with us? Why is he such a distraction? Why do the people want to follow him?" The Sadducees and all of the different religious groups asked themselves, "Who is this?" And still common people, sinners like Zakius, tax collectors like Matthew, Mary Magdalene, and many others wanted to know who is this who could deliver, who could set free, who could change our lives forever.

As we enter this time of remembrance of our Lord and Savior, you need to understand that people are asking the same question today that they were asking thousands of years ago. Who is this? Some believe that he was just a good teacher. Others believe that he was a prophet sent from God that demonstrated miracle working power because of his connection and relationship to God.

But there are still those who are finding him today as the son of the living God and the Lord and Savior of their life. When you ask the question, who is this? You need to know not only is he savior, but he is Lord of Lords and he's our sooncoming king.

The Bible tells us very clearly that Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life. And just as he made his way into this city 2,000 years ago, that he might die for our sins, I want to encourage you to let him make his way into your life today, into your heart, into your home, so that when you ask the question, who is this?

You will be able to answer, "He is Christ, the Messiah, my deliverer." One of the scenes that artists have tried to portray throughout the centuries is that of Jesus taking a towel and washing Peter's feet. You know, the thing that's funny is that at a time when he should have been served, he's serving others.

Here in the upper room, number of conversations are taking place. One of them is recorded in John the 13th chapter. The mother of James and John comes to Jesus and asks if her sons can sit on his right and on his left in the new kingdom. Jesus makes it very clear that she has no idea what she's asking for.

You see, James and John believe if they're the closest to the leader that they're going to have the opportunity to tell others what to do. And then Jesus picks up a towel and he wraps it around his waist and he kneels down in front of Peter and he begins to wash his feet.

Jesus is letting the disciples know that power is not for making others submit. Power is for service. Power is not about being in control. Power is about taking care of the needs of someone else. This is why Jesus said, "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another as I have loved you, that you also love one another, because by this all will know that you are my disciples.

If you love one another, you and I have an opportunity to show the world that Jesus Christ is real, that he is indeed the truth and the life. if we are willing to use the power and the influence that he has given us to love others. Love is serving.

Love is taking care of the needs of those around you. Love is taking the towel, kneeling down, and washing others feet. It might not be the best job in the world. It might not be the right time or the right place, but as long as you're doing it with the right heart, you're demonstrating the love of God.

How often people are turned off to the things of God because they hear us quarreling amongst different groups of Christians because they hear Christians say things and do things that don't demonstrate the reality of the sacrifice that he gave to us. You can be a part of the solution.

You can show others the reality of who he is and what he has done in your life when you fulfill the commandment that Jesus gave his disciples that night as he stood up from the floor after having served them all and let us know that it was our responsibility to love one another the way that he loved us.

Not selfishly but sacrificially. Because when we love like that, we show the world who Jesus is. The Bible says, "And as they were eating, Jesus took the bread and he blessed it and he broke it and he gave it to the disciples and said, take it, eat it.

This is my body." This was a confusing statement to the disciples. As Jewish men, they had celebrated this meal many times with the most beloved on the face of the earth. They had sat with their fathers and with their families, and they had seen the bread blessed and broken.

But this time Jesus said, "This is my body broken for you." During Passover, they remembered that the lamb was sacrificed and that the blood was sprayed over the door so that the angel of death would not enter. But what Jesus was telling them was something that they had not heard before.

This is not the blood of a symbolic lamb. This is not the body of another sacrifice. I am the sacrifice. I am the lamb. Next, we read in the Bible that he took the cup and he gave thanks for it, saying, "Drink from it, all of you, for this is my blood of the new covenant which is shed for many for the remission of sins."

And in verse 29 of Matthew 26, it says, "And I will not drink from this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in my father's kingdom." I'm standing in the city of Jerusalem. I'm standing in the city where Jesus spoke these words in the Passover.

There are several cups that they drink. The last is Elijah's cup. It's Messiah's cup. Elijah was one who was taken from heaven into earth by chariots. And Messiah is one who when he returns, when he comes, will establish a kingdom that will last a thousand years. When Jesus picked up that cup, every one of his disciples with everything inside of them wanted him to drink it.

They wanted him to declare, "I am the Messiah. I am the one. I'm here to establish my kingdom." What he was telling them is, "I'm not going to do this yet. There will come a time when I will drink this cup in a new kingdom, in my father's kingdom.

I'll drink it with you, and I'll drink it with all of those that I'm about to redeem." Next we read the famous phrase, "And when they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives." It was there that Jesus began the process of giving his life that you and I might have communion with our savior so that when he returns, the cup that he held in his hand that night, we will lift in ours and celebrate this covenant that Christ has paid for in his own shed blood.

If Jesus didn't rise from the dead, faith would have no meaning and hope would have no future. But Jesus did rise and the same power that raised Christ from the dead now lives in every believer.
