Transcript

that's crazy man let's get back to Jesus guys let's ((music playing)) focus what is going on Free Chapel young adults hey we are here on our podcast and we're so excited that you are joining us first off we just wanted to give a special shout out to Pastor Jensen and Miss shice for allowing us and giving us the opportunity to do this I am surrounded by some incredible people today talk about right I have Pastor Aaron Marshall who oversees it all that's what he does I also have to my left from Orange County Pastor Jason or young at all Pastor over there and then the Queen the best the greatest Communicator I've ever seen in my life uh Miss Skyler to my left but hey we're in a series right now in our summer called Summer House really intention behind this was uh people have summer houses at least I don't I would love to have a summer house but the idea of Summer houses is a place that you go and visit but you're not there for very long well we don't want God to be that for us we don't want him just to be a place that we visit every now and then we want him to be a place that we dwell and go after uh so that's the idea around summerhouse but we're so excited to get us uh started so what are we talking about today J we are talking about the idol get ready for this drum roll the idol of comfortability of being comfortable I feel like in today's world there's a study done I can't find the study it's out there somebody Google it somebody Google you know they' say the study show there's nothing but there was a study yeah I think we could all agree in today's world there is an idol of being comfortable we love being comfortable we love staying in our comfort zone and um I don't know if that's it to flip it on its head yeah God would not have sent the the greatest comforter in Jesus for people who are already comfortable and so I really think it's an idol in today's world in particular to the heart of serving uh we just did a serving series back in OC and the whole tagline was if serving is beneath you being used by God is beyond you wow uh to really charge people and challenge them to like you got to serve the house and do something yeah uh even we were talking about the the story of the man outside of at the pool of Bethesda of him waiting for his encounter he in many ways expected to be healed but because of his experience it kind of dictated his expectation and it prolonged his receiving of his of his Miracle um and sometimes in many ways he got comfortable in his weakness so many times we get comfortable in our weakness right um so I kind of wanted to touch on that today and saying uh where do you think the idol of comfortability lies in today's culture how do young adults today get comfortable in their weakness and what's kind of holding them back from serving and going out of their comfort zone yeah that's great yeah it's great P I love that to take it away but immediately I think of a caveat to it like immediately I'm thinking like Idols first of all let me say this every time we all these podcasts I literally feel like I'm sitting here like H what's going on and the Holy Spirit like gives me something like come on whisp I you cuz I'm not that smart think that but any who I think of it as most times Idols are something that we actually need so God is the God of all comfort so Comfort is something we were created to need from God but our culture has now decided to find and if we're not careful we'll find comfort in everything other than him like I think we are a lot of us are just overwhelmed and immediately it's like when we're overwhelmed we immediately want comfort and so most of the time we're not turning to God to be our comfort we're turning to people we're turning to social media we're turning to Netflix we're turning to all these things and then we have created an idol because every time we feel need we're turning to a thing and enough to God so I feel like that's really where the idol of comfort in our society people turn to drugs on a more serious like people will turn to drugs for Comfort they'll turn to anything that can like Rel or alleviate that stress they're feeling but I feel like that's where it's like we're so overwhelmed we're so beyond ourselves in what we do so we just turn to anything to find that Comfort that's immediately pops into my head when I think of the idol of comfort yeah I think of fear yeah I think um a lot of times we fear the unknown yes we fear the unexpected We Fear anything different yes like even down to something simple as routine if you get outside your routine there just fear is like oh my day is going to be ruined it's like relax but I heard this phrasing before let fear be a confirmation and the fear is confirming a need for God sure yeah and to Skylar's Point sometimes in that fear we're utilizing something to bring comfort that can Comfort us yeah and that's where Idols come in because anything outside of fearing God and putting God first and God being the main thing is an idol yeah but we'll replace god with you know uh somebody else this pastor this leader or this movie star or uh money or success where God is like don't allow fear to make you grab a hold of something that can't fulfill you and sustain allow that fear to confirm that you need me you know what I mean that's good I think our entire culture and Society is set up for Comfort like we get mad at like people because they're like why don't you want to you know be uncomfortable but like we have Lazy Boy chairs like we we're we're trying to drive in a Range we're trying to find the most comfortable way to live our Liv so then you like you throw on the aspect of Faith it's like well Jesus makes sure that you really get uncomfortable cuz he's like hey you should go talk to that person you should go pray for that person like you you should go up there now on stages and preach and it's like well Lord I I don't do a good job talking you know it's like so it's like so much of our society is built around comfort and then you throw this Faith equation in there and it's like you're right absolutely there's going to be fear there yeah you talk about comfort in the culture think about the Comfort phrasing comfort food Comfort blankets Comfort I me our our culture really pushes this idea of stay comfortable no like you know be this be that but man that's totally against the gospel and let me just hop in here because I just think it's so funny that the world always offers a counterfeit we need from God like again I can't get the phrase out of my head the God of all comfort in the scripture so we need comfort like we need it from God but the world's counterfeit is literally food like literally like Comfort shows all that but we literally our designed need come from God but because we're so conditioned to getting comfort from all these things we get the Comfort we actually need it doesn't satisfy us the same there's not an immediate reaction it's not the same like like stimuli I don't I don't know the right word but it's like not the same so now we're conditioned to need fast food Comfort when God has like a feast of comfort waiting for us that doesn't satisfy the same counter counterfeit Comfort counter that'll preach that'll preach to someone counterfeit Comfort that's guys it's it's ruin you already know my mind y yeah yeah you guys hear that remember that study um that it was saying like to when people are um studying counterfeit bills this when they want to um study uh and kind of decipher which one's real and which one's fake they don't even look at the fake ones they study the real one so that when fakes come along they'll know it's like that's on it and it's like do we have enough like zest and jealousy for our time with Jesus who the real he's the real comforter not counterfeit comfort that when we see counterfeit Comfort that's man that's good one that's a good one when we see counterfeit Comfort that's that's actually not going to sustain us that cability can we identify it's like that's not what I want so even in the terms of like in in faith language Faith over fear um I always like to say like you know we always go in uh stages of live and say oh what if this happens I don't want to do this because I don't want to step out of my C what if this happens yeah what if the worst comes to worst even what if it's fear language even if it's Faith language wow well even if this happens I know who I am I know who God is that's great in me can we touch on a little bit about that if you even speaking to ya um today of what we can say to the the purpose and the meaning and the importance of going even if over what if and how that affects our even mental health and our spiritual health and our emotional health um in those situations can you touch on a little bit about that that's good yeah no you guys no I was just thinking of a Bible verse uh in Corinthians um cuz sometimes when we're outside of our comfort zone we can feel like it's the end of the world we can feel like all of life is crashing down on something that is very simple or there are things in our life that have shaken us like really crazy things that gotten us out of our comfort own but I think about what Paul says I think it's 2 Corinthians 1:9 or 91 one of that but says indeed it feels like we have received the sentence of death of death so that we will not rely on ourselves but the one that Jesus who raised the dead yeah so I know it feels like in our discomfort getting outside of our comfort zone like it feels like we have received the sentence of death yeah but it's really for our good that we won't rely on ourselves but rely on Jesus who raises a dead so you may feel like there's no possibility for God to intervene no he raised the Dead so he'll raise you out of that situation you may feel like you can't uh make it through that financial situation you're uncomfortable because because God wants you to rely on him as Jehovah Gyra you know what I mean so that discomfort is bring you to a place of dependency not on yourself or these things but of God that's great that's great and I I think about like the reason why I don't be uncomfortable is because what if I get embarrassed sure right because we're all insecure beings like we all we all don't want to look bad like we want we want to make sure like our outfits are on point like we don't want to sweat you know like if we see a girl that we like we're like you know what's good you want to have like you know that perfect pickup line so like you don't want to be embar that would be embarrassing though but you don't want to be embarrassed at all and I just think of Moses man like Moses became a Shepherd he he was a prince at one point in a palace and then he becomes this Shepherd well Egyptians look down upon Shepherds it's the worst job ever but then God calls him he goes like hey what Moses what I want you to do is I want you to help set my people free yeah but I want you to do it as a shepherd and then he goes like he's like throw your stick on the ground we all know that story but the crazy thing is he has to take that same stick that makes sure that everybody knows that he's a Shepherd back to the Palace so he has to go in front of pharaoh he has to go in front of his old people and people have to see how low he's gone and he has to do that in front of him to Moses this is really embarrassing but to God he's like now I can really use you because all the Comfort everything that you seem to get attached to you no longer need it and you only need me so usually if God's calling you towards something he's trying to get you out of comfort it's not to embarrass you it's to show you who he is but he's also trying to show you how far he can take you you know that's so good I feel literally I could get emotional I'm not shed tears on the why podcast I'm not going to shut up watch hopefully but I literally while we're talking I feel the Holy Spirit saying that there's someone watching this and God has spoken something so specific to them about their future and has made a promise to them about a call on their life and they have completely thrown it in the in the trash thrown it away because they feel like it's so much bigger than them that it's so far outside of their comfort zone and they just have disqualified thems but I feel like now I feel like I know this episode you listening is a Divine setup because this is the Lord's little reminder that just because you threw it out doesn't mean he did wow and just because you feel unqualified for it it are we he is so strong and I love that we're all echoing the same thing of just because we can't do it is such confirmation again the fear being the confirmation that it's bigger than you but it's not bigger and beyond God so I just feel like God's speaking to some folks out there whether it's one or whether it's 100 whoever but for you watching if this is stirring something in your heart be encouraged that you're right where you need to be if you feel completely unqualified and completely Beyond yourself can we piggyback that a time where you guys had to I I know we all but I just I'm curious like what's been some moments in your life where you had to get outside your comfort zone and you were freaking out yeah for me it was like I knew I was called to preach and I was like very honored to do it but then when I told people they all started laughing at me they're like bro you're a heathen what do you mean like who you like bro you're not going to do it so then like the them telling me who I am made me scared and so then I remember my first sermon getting ready getting ready to preach I stayed at the church like all night just like writing and I was like praying I was like Lord you got to speak today I need you to show up and it's like I'm preaching like 12 kids yeah you know what I mean like it's like to those 12 kids those 12 kids and like and like I'm like God I need you to show up right now and I was so I was so scared and like it's 12 youth students like to everybody else is like bro it's 12 kids it's not that big a deal to me it was a big deal right and it doesn't matter if you're preaching at thousands it doesn't matter if you're preaching at 12 it doesn't matter if you're becoming the C o or you're about to get a job at Starbucks like taking that step is really scared so I remember doing my first sermon I mean I was holding the mic just like shaking right and I'm like terrified but I did it and when I got done I realized that God was going to be with me yeah and I realized in that moment like why would I ever want to live a life now you talk about tears now they're coming to me why would I ever want to live a life that I was capable of doing on my own yes I want to live a life where like I'm just getting thrown out in the deep end you know yeah now I got the tears these are these are real can we pin in we need that for the thumbnail we need that for the thumbnail that's amazing this is real back to people making fun of me for sure no I think um I remember when I you know sometimes the hardest people I communicate with especially like maybe preach to is like your family and friends uh my grandpa had a church and he had his ministry and I was preaching at that church this is like 20 of our closest family and I was I was like no this is not going to be it like I don't know like I'm not comfortable with this I'd rather be with strangers yeah um but being able to share what God's done in my life and and even share a different kind of um in a different context that they're maybe not they're not used to but it's hard to preach and share V vulnerable things to your family especially when you're not used to it and um man God used that time um and got I got to see encounters with family members even know uh where their walk with Christ was um and I think perhaps the opposite of comfort isn't discomfort maybe it's obedience wow and obedience what I've learned is it's not something we just simply do it's actually a posture that we assume it's actually something we have it's a rhythm and it actually looks like this of like God where do you want me to go very good like I want to move within the breath of the Holy Spirit I think that's obedience wow and I think sometimes when we're comfortable we actually miss out on the opportunity for obedience and even when it comes to serving I love like getting out of your comfort zone and stepping taking a step in obedience I wonder what that looks like for a young adult who's maybe not who maybe they felt a little tug on their heart but they're so uncomfortable to step out of their comfort zone that they're actually walking in Disobedience because they don't want to walk in into a uncomfortable setting what would you say to a young adult today that it's like man they're on the the fence of like I want to serve I don't know where I want to serve maybe I don't even feel called to full-time Ministry and maybe that step keeping me from serving what would you say to a young adult in that situation yeah I want to speak to that cuz it kind of ties into both questions so Story Time the podcast is just Story Time with Skyler sometimes but um serving in areas that you don't necessarily want to serve but God has called you so in 2022 God started speaking to be like I want to use your voice I said Okay God I I kind of talk a lot I I Yap so use it and so he's telling me that like for a week then I'm chilling at my house eating some food I get a call from Pastor Lance shout out Pastor Lance he's our family Ministries Pastor here at free chapel and I don't know what to expect it's like a Saturday he's calling me I said hey Pastor Lance he's like hey I have a question for you first he does the whole hey what up to you know what when they don't get straight into it I'm like dear God did I do something am I in trouble I know it's coming right it's like he's like oh what are your PL today he's like okay well I want to present something to you he's like we have been having meetings about our Easter production and I've decided that I'm not go Pastor Lance narrated the first one we had he was like I've decided that I don't want to narate it this year and we all feel like you should and I said I see go now now when I do it I'm getting T I know but and let me set this up in case you don't go to free travel if you go to free travel You' seen it but if you don't it's like a fullon like Lance played John the Baptist and narrated at these three long narrations it's very like it's acting I've never done that so Pastor Lance calls me he says I I want to just present this to you and we feel like the Lord would love for you to do this obviously he wasn't trying to manipulate he was like pray on it and I said okay I immediately hang up the phone like absolutely not like no shot I can memorize three announcement points but the idea of memorizing three monologues I cannot even begin to imagine but the Lord immediately reminded me of what have what have I been telling you about wanting to use your voice and I said and then got you the next thought the next thought was this is so far beyond my ability like this is way outside the park of what I know I can do and so I literally sat and put on the Easter production right then and was praying like immediately there go I put it on watched all these monologues and was just literally praying emotional from start to finish I'm like God I feel like this is how you want me to serve but I am so overwhelmed I don't know what to do anyway fast forward I end up saying yes I did it God literally used it and has blessed it and then I think okay I'm done then I'm sitting at the sound booth Christmas and Pastor Lance goes hey would you do it again this year like God I thought I was done but I say all that to say we can't choose how God's going to call us we can't choose how he's going to ask ask us to serve it service when our answer is yes before he even asks not depending on our comfort not depending on all that but literally whatever the Lord the Lord he's so good he'll he'll prepare our heart sometimes and sometimes it's out of nowhere but just say yes when he ask don't even give yourself room to like freak out or overthink just accept the invitation and watch as his grace carries you through it yeah I I want to speak to the just piggybacking I think we this is great man the obedience when God comforts you but you're still in discomfort but you're being obedient and this is for any leader out there I remember and God reminded me of this last week actually to where it was a situation where um I had a let's say a person up under me in the ministry and there was a level of comfort of having that person a part of the ministry and it was a level of comfort for that person to be with me and the Lord had put on me and my wife's heart to let that person go because we were an idol for that person yeah and in order for that person to kind of be free into what God had for them we had to let them go yeah the discomfort was man what are they going to think yeah but I had to be obedient yeah but here's where it gets interesting I was obedient and it was discomfort and it was uncomfortable letting that person go but like I'm still dealing with the fact that that person has some negative feelings but that's the sacrifice of being a Christlike leader it still may even if that person sees you in a negative light because you were being OB and they don't know what God told you to do you just had to do it and God had commissioned you he commissioned me not to tell them yeah because he needed to get me from being an idol in their life to now and it did it forced them to kind of see me a certain way so now they can put their but I had to be okay with the discomfort of them not rocking with me like they used to and I'm still but in that God still comforts me in that discomfort of walking in obedience to what and that person went on and I'm telling you God has blessed and I'm not saying they're blessed because of me it's God oh yeah but I had to be okay in the disc comfort of even being seen in a certain light that I'm not comfortable with to glorify God and walk in obedience yeah and I mean the thing that comes to my mind is like everybody wants to be great everybody's like I want to accomplish this I want to do this and like Jesus says if you want to be great in My Kingdom serve serving is not something we we're like yeah let's get in the service industry right that's what that's what Christianity is like we're we're in the people serving industry right and like to me I think think if you're starting out like God didn't start with a sermon for me right he started me with chairs yeah he started me at a very simple place because like for me I always was glorifying once I finally get to the spotlight once I finally have the lights like that's what I wanted to do but like I'd be at the church and the pastor like I need some chairs moved hey can you show up to church early and that in my opinion is the test to see whether or not you're going to be able to do what he's called you to do so I would say even for me uh for yeah for me it's like one of those things where it's like like you said you're never too big for anything so like just continue to humble yourself and start where you're at and it might not be glorifying like I don't know many people that give shout outs to people who fold laundry but we got to do it you know nothing if if if serving God is beneath you being used by guys uh Beyond you I love the story of Stephen right in act six he he gets appointed Deacon of the lunchroom this is a nice Bible way of saying you're the lunch lady right your name is Bera shout out to BR he got the hairnet and it doesn't say much about Sten not the hairnet you got that get the hairnet Ste it doesn't say much about uh Stephen but all it does say is that he was faithful in the lunchroom and the word of God spread wow the lunchroom today is parking lot Ministry yeah it's a job that no one really wants and he didn't want it the disciples didn't want it they were like hey we got to preach the gospel we have to point point someone uh let's let's shoot stepen yeah and because he was like this and he was obedient he didn't ask for that job maybe he was hoping for the platform yeah but he got to do the mashed potatoes you know and the word of God spread in so much that the Sanhedrin goes and arrest him and he gives the second large second longest sermon in the New Testament and as he's getting stoned to death what do it say about the Lord he's standing as stepen stands for him crazy and I love that and he's not God's not applauding our platforms he's actually applauding our obedience yeah and if we're going to stand for him he's going to stand us yeah so let I have a question I want y'all so in the discomfort or being uncomfortable I believe the enemy throws lies sure you're doing that nobody sees you nobody you know areas of you nobody you can't you can't do that you're not good enough you're going to stumble over your words how do you deal with the lies and the discomfort the lies and the uncomfortable places wow it's really good cuz they come in yeah cuz again you the Comfort there's a level of security and then when you step out of it the enemies come and see you should have stayed there she see don't you can't do it see you're not good enough you're not see they don't see you they don't value you I think it's like if that's our re if that's the reward you want that's the reward you you're going to get like the the pla the the affirmation of man rather than the affection of Heaven like I think of the Good Samaritan he goes and he goes and takes that um man to the in he's like hey I'm going to I'll come back I'll pay you double I think that's what the Lord says to us like I'm going to I'm going to repay you one day double but if this is the reward you want here you're going to you're going to get it if you want affirmation to recognition sure that's your reward but that's not what we're after yeah and I think that's got to be the the um the kind of switch in our head yeah that's exactly what I was going to say you're say that I was going to but just to piggyback a little bit off of that is eternal reward like let's not be I agree I don't ever want to be the one that's like God I I'll take all my reward here yeah and then you get to heaven and it's like well you you wanted all your reward in the form of compliments or in the form of reposts on Instagram or in the form of this but literally why can't we find joy in doing things that are just for the Lord like he is our why can't we just like like literally if it's picking up trash on the floor when no one's around not to be seen as this like servant but just Lord I want to honor You by doing this and like wherever like just doing we need to start doing things just for the Lord's eyes and I think that is where Eternal reward because even in the Eternal reward it's still cuz I saw this and I spoke this at uh youth some time ago Paul talks about basically in context being an athlete playing in the game winning the Victor's Crown right and if you I did a study and there's these different Crowns if you look at through the letters in the gospel or through the letters that you can get on Earth but the thing I found super interesting is if you go to Revelation the Bible talks about them casting their crowns so even the stuff we get and we know we're still giving it back to God it's still not about us it's not even ours you see what I'm saying so why not in our discomfort just say it's all about God so God if you're calling me to do this you can have it because even the things I get the Eternal rewards I'm only getting them to give it back to you in heaven yes exactly I I think Comfort has plans meaning like I in my brain I am imagining and fantasizing a life that I'm going to create yeah and so I'm like I'm going to go do this so so the way but the way I'm going to do it is once I pick up that trash someone's going to see me bam we're good I read the story of David he brings the bread so once I bring this bread I get a mic right comfort's creating the plans God's like has his own plan for your life and guess what it's to make you uncomfortable not to harm you but it's to shape that heart that's within you where it is like this is all about him and I think like we always have to go back to that surrender perfect example of like Abraham before he's Abraham he's Abram and Sarah and Hagar like God tells Abram he's like hey I'm Gonna Give You babies on babies on babies I'm Gonna Give You All Them descendants like I'm gonna make you a father of many nations he's like to prove it go outside and count the stars and he's like one two and he starts counting him and he's like man I can't even count man God's going to bless me like no other right and he thinks he's going to come home to his wife he's like honey we going to have a baby I know you're old but like we going to have a baby it's going to be awesome and in my head I'm like God calls you to it in 9 months they go here comes that baby but a year goes by they ain't got no baby two years go by they ain't got no baby four years go by it getting kind of weird bro got no bab five years go by she getting older she's she's getting really old God I don't know if you see her hair but like WR stretch man got yeah um I was going to make a joke but it would have been bad moving onol self that's conviction thank you Holy Spirit um but 10 years goes by and they still have no baby in their mind how it would have gone is this way yeah but to God he had them waiting but then they took matters in their own hands and then he slept with his uh his maid Hagar and they ended up giving birth to a boy named uh ishmail what's crazy is like he got what he wanted which was a child Sarah got what she wanted but it wasn't the thing that God promised him and now that have to raise something that they really didn't want and I think like you have to realize this discomfort it's for your benefit yes yeah wow and like back back what you're saying by like not being seen too like I think I like the story of um and I'm actually blinking on the it was Maas and barabus right in in the upper room when um the disciples needed to F find it a 12 because of Judas yeah that guy that's stinker that's stinker he wanted the bag and it didn't say much about either of those men but it said that they were following the Lord the whole time yeah they weren't mentioned in the gospels at all um but it said the one thing that said about them they were they were both following Jesus the entire time even though their name wasn't mentioned and everything like that and so I think that's even thing too about obedience and what that looks like it's like what recognition are we going to get it might not look like what what you plan on it yeah you might have to be waiting a year two years 3 years for you it might not look like it but God promises a reward that's big bigger than than what man can give you I think I heard I heard the story once a youth pastor was saying like he had a dream and you know the Lord come came back and everyone's in heaven only three people didn't make it to to Heaven out of Eternity like what's our first response that's crazy only three my response is like no there's not there's way more though yeah H but why is that our first response instead of saying oh man we almost had them all yeah like we we almost had them all and I think to flip it on its head like the reward like our goal isn't Heaven our goal is eternal fellowship with Jesus starting now right Eternal fellowship with Jesus starting now that's our reward so Christ is the reward we don't have to look for recognition because we have Christ we have relationship with them right now and that maybe that is what this looks like if like God I have you what do you want me to do I'm obedient take me wherever you want to go like if you're going to tell me then we going to have babies on babies on whatever I'm open for anything it might not look like what I had in mind but I want walk like this walk in obedience yeah and to that like a allow the Lord to comfort you allow his comfort but it's something you said one time when you preach is allow God to come for you even in a way you don't expect him to yeah because I think sometimes we can have an idol in the way we want to be comfortable oh he going to comfort me with a job or he going to comfort me or he going to comfort me with a boo you know what I mean like but nah he may just comfort you with his peace wow but you got to be okay with that come on got to be okay with that yeah that's really good that's really good one question at least I have is I know we're talking about like discomfort and being uncomfortable and stuff but like can you talk about like you know how you got kind of started in the ministry because like you had a crazy story and like a lot of it was like so much uncomfortability and like now you are to the point where you're at where you're young adult Pastor you oversee a college it doesn't necessarily go away the discomfort can you speak into that a little bit because just because you get to a certain point just because you get to a certain job doesn't mean it goes away no I mean once you start this cuz that's the gospel in context yes in many times we have created the gospel to be about success and good things and getting this and obtaining that but sometimes we miss the opportunity to minister to people about the process like yes I moved to Georgia I found my wife we got married um you know we have four beautiful kids yes I'm in Ministry God is blessed and but I meant in each transition and moment there was levels of com discomfort like even moving to Georgia it was the discomfort of the unknown like I got a job offer and it would have been like the comforting thing to take take the job that was offer to me yeah but the Lord said no so I had to trust him and in the discomfort move to Georgia in faith with no job like holding on to my savings and even down to I was telling a young adult this like I was I had a friend in you know Virginia and when I had moved here the Lord said let her go and it was the comfort of friendship wow I'm like oh that's my friend that's the H me like I'm I'm actually helping her get to Christ yeah but the Lord was like nah you're going to get uncomfortable let her go because the comfort of holding her was giving her a thought that I was her husband and I wasn't yeah I knew she wasn't my wife right but God was like let her go yeah and when I released her God be to now bless me because of that obedience and sometime later I F my wife come on and then you look at even down to Ministry like when I got into Ministry God spoke Ministry is coming I jumped the gun a little bit and I wind up leaving the job that I had was working at working as a personal trainer and I left it in faith I jumped the gun a little bit but I did but it was uncomfortable but I was just trying to be obedient yeah and I left that job in like the end of October beginning of November and then I was just like you know serving at my wife's Ministry cuz I thought that was Ministry yeah you know I was doing it by faith you know and then months later I just get a call randomly but it was just being uncomfortable and trusting God but it it doesn't every time I preach I want to throw up because I'm I don't consider myself to be like Pastor Jenson but what I love about him he's a great communicator he's one of the best communic preachers but he'll wrestle with his humanity and he knows that you know the Bible says and you said it Skyler his grace is sufficient yes so in the uncomfortable place lean on his grace very good because it takes the pressure off of you yes you've been hearing me say it cast your anxieties and then the Bible says his yoke is easy and his burden is light so if he's calling you to do it you're going to feel it right but he's going to give you peace comfort and he's going to love you through it yeah definitely and I think to close I think success starts when you're obedient yeah that's actually when the success starts it's not when you have the platform it's not when you get like you know all the praise success starts when you're when you're obedient and we just want to pray for that one person here today but just don't forget to to like share subscribe uh to get the word out about this podcast because we want to reach more and more young adults uh across our nation and across this world uh but I'd love to pray with you guys guys uh if you want to Bow your head and close your eyes well Lord we love you we just thank you so much Jesus for this uh for this podcast for every single person listening God God I pray for people that they would step out of their boat right now Jesus that uh they would be willing to take that opportunity take that risk Jesus and sometimes all it is is just asking God so we we ask that they would have the faith to ask you to to help them but God that person who's setting up chairs that person who's working at Chick-fil-A and wants to be a CEO one day God continue to help them go through this process Jesus because we know you care way more about the heart than you do about their platform Jesus and we just pray this in Jesus mighty name and everybody said amen amen well young ads we love
