Don't Do This In The Dark // Night School // The Blueprint with Dr. Dharius Daniels
Transcript
Well, what's up? I want to welcome you to the blueprint. If you're online, I want fire in the chat, but if you're in the room, I want you to make some noise. Let's give let's give God praise and glory and honor. We are so incredibly excited, man, to be here.
And uh we believe that there are three ways you can live your life. Culture's way, church's way, or the king's way. And we believe the king's way, which is third way, is not just right, it's better. And the Bible is the blueprint to the king's way. And that's why we call this the blueprint Bible study.
And I'm telling you, I'm excited about tonight. Tonight begins a Bible study we're going to be in for the next seven weeks. We're going to be in the book of Genesis. And um I'm excited because we're going to use the characters in the book of Genesis as teachers to teach you and I how to handle night seasons.
Uh God wants to disciple you and I on how to handle night seasons. Because when you handle night seasons the king's way, >> night seasons become night school. and I'm excited about it. So, I'm going to read a few verses of scripture found in the book of Genesis, chapter number three, beginning at verse 6.
It says this, "When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate it." Then the eyes of both of them were open and they realized they were naked.
So they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves. I want to stop the reading of scripture there and talk from this subject in this teaching family. Don't do this in the dark. >> Don't don't do this in the dark. family. I I want to start by sharing something that if you have been in the orbit of my teaching ministry, you may have heard me say this before and that that is simply that it can be said and suggested that one of the primary purposes of the church is to be the educational arm of the kingdom. >> I'm not saying that church is a school. >> It isn't.
But I am saying that church has an educational responsibility. >> This is instruction Jesus clearly gives in what we call in Christian circles the great commission. >> In Mark 16 and in Matthew 28, you'll find Jesus saying these words. Go make disciples >> of all nations, >> baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them. >> Is that what he says? >> Teaching them to observe all things that I've commanded you. >> Jesus in referring to the third person of the Trinity, the Holy Spirit, uses a number of different words to describe him.
He calls him a comforter. Yes, sir. >> He calls him a helper, >> but he also calls him a teacher, sir. >> Yes, he does. >> Yes, sir. >> Because part of the church's responsibility is to teach people how to live life the king's way. >> And I would say that in part church, and when I say church, I mean just the churches I've been exposed to.
I don't know what's happening in the entire church. And when people say that, I'm like, "What church you talking about?" The church need to get it together. I be like, "Well, what church? Episcipalian church, Presbyterian church, Menanites, Anabaptists? What do you mean? Who needs to get it together?"
So, when I say church, I'm referring to church as I've been exposed to. I would say there are some areas where we have not been darele in our duty. We've we've we've taught you some things. We've we've taught you how to um we taught you how to serve. >> Yes, sir. >> We've taught you that your presence on this planet has purpose. >> Yes, sir. that you're not the you're not the consequence of some cosmic coincidence.
You're not the result of some relational accident. Your parents may have been surprised by your arrival, but God wasn't. >> That you're here for a purpose. You're here on purpose. You're here by purpose. Right? So, we've taught you that you've got a contribution that you're supposed to make.
That's why you've been created. And that God should have first right of refusal on your gifts, your talents, your acquired skills. We taught you how to serve. >> We've taught you how to shout. No, >> let the redeemed >> of the Lord say so. That there should be an unapologetic enthusiastic response to God's goodness in your life.
That a person should not be forced to engage in a certain expression, but they should be enthusiastic when there is reflection on God's goodness. If I'm reading my Bible, my Bible makes it clear that I got permission to shout. >> Come on here. Clap your hands all ye people. >> Am I in the book?
And shout >> unto God with a voice of triumph. >> Yeah. We we we have taught you that that worship is good manners. >> I like that. Yes. >> When somebody's good to you, >> good manners >> should prompt and provoke you >> to say thank you. >> Yes, sir. >> Yes, sir. >> Thank you. >> So, when I'm clapping my hands, I'm just >> showing some manners. >> We taught you how to serve.
We taught you how to shout. We taught you how to sew. >> That generosity is the only pathway to fulfillment. that when you get a revelation that everything I have, God gave me or gave me the ability to get it, it produces a gratitude on the inside of you that says you um you actually asked for some, but you deserve it all. >> We taught you how to >> come on >> shout, >> taught you how to serve. >> We taught you how to sew. >> But there's an area >> that I feel like is underemphasized, but equally important. >> We taught you how to serve.
We taught you how to shout. >> We taught you how to sew. >> But we have not taught you how to suffer. >> Set it up. >> We hadn't taught you >> how to suffer. >> We have ignored Christ's warnings about the inevitability of adversity. We have not regularly repeated and quoted sayings of our savior like um in this world >> will >> come on here >> not you might >> in this world you will >> have tribulation >> is that what he says >> yeah he's saying you're going to have it is inevitable no matter what you do you cannot avoid it you're going to have uh tribulation you're going to have trial.
You're going to have crisis. Watch this. Because of you, >> as an imperfect person, you're going to make imperfect decisions. And those imperfect decisions are going to bring consequences with them. You're going to have adversity not just because of you. You're going to have adversity because of others. >> That's right. >> Come on here.
Sometimes we become victims of other people's imperfection. You're going to have adversity because of life. >> This is the adversity you experience for which there is no explanation. >> It's job like trouble. >> I don't know what is I don't know what is happening. >> But Jesus does something that I want to make sure as a teacher of scripture that I do.
And that is not only articulate to us the inevitability of adversity but also expose us to God's truth on how to steward adversity properly. >> Good sir >> disciples deal with dark times differently. My God, >> I'm going to deal with dark times, >> but I need God to disciple me >> on how to deal with dark times because all of us are going to deal with some dark times.
For some of us, this year is going to bring dark times physically. >> Come on. Somebody just asked me a second ago. They was like, "How you doing?" I say, "I'm good. My knee's hurting." They say, "Did you do leg day?" I say, "No." They say, "IS IT RAINING OUTSIDE?"
I SAY, "NO, THEY'RE JUST HURTING." Just 46 year old knees. It might be dark times physically. It might be dark times relationally. It might be dark times financially. It might be dark times emotionally. I don't know. But I do know we all will deal with dark times. And we all need to be discipled on how to handle >> night seasons.
This is why I'm enrolling everybody. >> I'm enrolling everybody >> into night school >> cuz God wants to use our night seasons >> as night school. We need to He wants to teach us not only how to handle dark times, but to teach us, watch this, but to teach us something in our dark times. >> Now, some of you are too young for this.
Some of you too young, but a few of you, you going to be able to follow me right along here. Come on. >> We uh I grew up in an area where cameras wasn't on your phone. >> See, you're too young. You're too She's like, >> huh? >> I'm talking about Kodak cameras. >> Polaroid.
Polaroid. That's it. Polaroid. Yes. Polaroid. >> Huh? Come on. >> So, so some people I know this is going to blow some of you away because you're too young. You would take a picture >> and you couldn't see >> what you took. The picture would be on film >> and you'd have to take the film >> to a place >> where there's a specialist >> who take your film >> to a dark room >> and and the film >> would get developed >> in the dark.
When you when you you would bring it to them one way >> and you leave it there a while, >> but when you came back, >> they gave it to you >> a different way. >> I want you to know God is your film specialist. >> And there are some things you give to him one way.
He's going to take it to a dark room. >> He's going to leave it there >> and he'll give it back to you another way. >> And I believe I'm talking to some people. >> If you're honest, >> you were developed >> in the dark. >> Your prayer life >> was developed >> in the dark.
Your study of scripture >> was developed >> in the dark >> where you were so confused and conflicted you had to get some answers. So you opened up this book. It it happened in the your strength >> was developed >> in the dark >> cuz you don't get stronger without carrying something heavy.
It's developed >> in the dark. >> God wants to take night seasons and turn them into night school. >> This is called in the contemplative spiritual tradition passive spiritual growth. >> It is the growth I hate the most, >> but is the growth that works the best. >> Jesus, >> did you hear what I just said?
Write this down. Not text. There's active spiritual growth >> and passive spiritual growth. >> Active spiritual growth refers to the actions I take to grow. >> Okay? >> Prayer, study, serving, reading of scripture. These are things I do to enlarge myself spiritually. >> Then there's passive spiritual growth, which doesn't mean I'm passive.
It means I'm not acting. Something has acted upon me. >> Yeah. I pick the active spiritual growth. I don't pick the passive spiritual growth. The >> these are things that are acted upon me, experiences that I have that serve as a catalyst for growth by necessity. Jesus, >> I got to grow to stay sane. >> I got to grow >> to survive.
I got to grow to make it through. Is passive spiritual growth and it is the most uncomfortable kind of growth. >> It is the growth I do not prefer, >> but it is the most fruitful growth many of us ever experience. talking right >> I didn't learn patience from a sermon >> now sir >> I learned patience when he made me wait >> passive spiritual growth so when I'm talking about night seasons >> and night school I'm talking about stewarding >> passive spiritual growth Yeah. >> Am I making sense? >> And over the course of these next few weeks, I want to use the book of Genesis as our textbook in night school. >> And our instructors are going to be characters here in the book of Genesis.
And on the day, >> our instructors are two people. >> Who are they? They're the first people >> we are introduced to as a part of the human species. >> Okay. >> Adam and Eve. Yes, >> sir. >> Adam, Adam and Eve are going to serve as our instructors today.
Not through what they articulate. It's not their articulation we're going to learn from. It's not what they say to us. >> Okay? >> Come on now. >> We're going to learn from their example. Adam and Eve >> in this first lesson in this series are going to teach us what not to do in the dark. >> Come on here. >> God I here's what's so grand.
Here's what's so grand and great about God. God uses everybody. >> But he uses everybody different ways. And he uses some people as examples of what to do >> in certain situations. >> And then he uses other people as example or the same people. >> Same people. Cuz come on, if all of us are honest, if you're objectively reading scripture, you can see almost everybody besides Jesus that God used, he he shows you examples of what to do through them >> and what not to do. >> Am I right about it? >> Peter >> is an example of what to do. >> Get out the boat. >> Walk on water. >> Peter is also an example of what not to do. >> I don't know Jesus. >> Come on.
Come on. >> He denied him three times. David is an example of what to do. And then David is an example of what not to do. Solomon is an example of what to do. Solomon is an example of what not to do. Jonah is an example of what to do.
And then Jonah is an example of what not to do. All of us in every season so that we don't get puffed up with pride. >> Come on here. So, we're going to learn from Adam and Eve, but we're not going to judge ADAM AND EVE BECAUSE WE ARE ADAM AND EVE. >> Come on here.
Everybody has got too close to some trees. >> Y'all aren't talking to me. I'm sorry. I'm in 2026. Somebody like, "Pastor, I got some trees in my pocket. I got I got some trees in the car." No, that's not what I'M TALKING ABOUT. SOMEBODY SAID TREES. YES. >> But all of us >> know what it's like >> to be too close to what God says stay away from. and and Adam Adam and Eve going to serve as examples to you and I of what not to do in the dark.
The the the story of Adam and Eve introduces us to a concept. The word is not in the Bible, but the concept itself is seen in scripture. A concept called spiritual warfare. >> So, you won't see that word in the Bible. You'll see warfare. The weapons of our warfare are not carnal.
But you won't see spiritual warfare. But but the concept the concept is captured in what Paul says. The weapons of our warfare are not carnal. Our introduction to Adam and Eve simultaneously introduces us to spiritual warfare. >> DJ, you catch that? >> I did. >> Yes. Y'all did you hear what I said?
So the human must normalize >> spiritual warfare >> because the first introduction that we have to the human is also an introduction to spiritual warfare. >> So the day you stop experiencing spiritual warfare will be the day you are no longer a human as you are now. >> It's when you've experienced resurrection.
It's when you have a glorified body. But but but but until then >> then >> as long as you are on this earth in this tabernacle you need to realize that part of the human experience >> is managing the reality of spiritual warfare an evil enemy that does not want to see humans >> function the way God intended. >> Does that make sense? >> Yeah.
Here at our church, change church, we make a very clear line of distinction between what the Bible calls flesh, >> right? >> And what we call human. >> People conflate the the two things and they are not the same. >> They are not the same. >> So when we say flesh, we're not talking about the fleshly part of our body.
When Paul in the New Testament uses the word flesh, he's referring to a nature >> that is on the inside of us, a instinct to go against divine design. >> Yes, sir. >> That's good. >> That's different from from me being a human. >> Being hungry, >> that's human. >> Am I making sense? >> Being angry, that's human.
As a matter of fact, Paul told believers in Ephesus, "Be angry, >> but sin not." When your anger >> prompts you to act in a way that's inconsistent >> with divine intentions, now you've stepped out of humanity into the flesh. >> See the difference there? >> Yes, sir. >> Okay.
This this is important now. This is important because Adam and Eve here are God's creation, the crown of his creation. >> Yes, sir. humans a a visible expression of his image on earth >> made in his image and likeness >> that could be trusted with stewarding the earth >> that that he trusted with what the Bible calls dominion Cuz as a human functioning properly, you know how to steward power without abusing it. >> That's it. >> That's it.
That's it. >> You can be trusted with dominion because you won't be doineering. >> But in order for them to be human as God intended, they had to live with restriction. Did you Did you catch that? >> My ability and your ability to flourish as humans, as God intended, is connected to our ability to live with restriction. >> Physical health will require restriction. >> Certain things we can't expose oursel to.
Can't can't eat without restriction. Right? Come on. Am I making sense? my the health of my soul, my my mind, my mental, it is tied to restriction that I can't just consistently expose myself to negativity and cynicism and doubt and unbelief and expect to have a mind and a heart that is captured by the peace of God.
Paul even says in Philippians 4, "Whatever's good, >> yes, sir, >> whatever's lovely, >> come on. If there be any virtue, if there be anything praiseworthy, think on these things. >> Isaiah even said, "Thou will keep him >> in perfect peace." What's the text? Whose mind >> is the >> So my ability to flourish >> as God intended. >> Yes, sir. >> Is tied to my ability to live with restrictions. >> Boy, if I had time And so here comes here here here comes Satan >> in the garden where God's where God has placed humans and Satan is persuading the humans to remove restriction. >> That's good. >> Are y'all following this? >> Yeah.
Yeah. I want you to see where warfare shows up first. >> It shows up >> in getting them to remove restriction. >> Let me cause you to see restriction as restrictive. >> God institutes restriction because it's protective. Come on here. >> Yes, sir. >> But Satan reframes >> what is protective as restrictive.
So the first act of spiritual warfare wasn't the devil using strength. >> It was him using his smarts. >> He didn't do anything to Adam and Eve's hands. >> He did everything to their head. Amen. >> Cuz your greatest place of a warfare >> y'all aren't talking to me >> is here. >> This is consistent with what Paul says, right?
He says the weapons of our warfare are not God, not not carnal, but mighty through God >> for the pulling down of strongholds. And most people don't take the time to just look at what the word stronghold mean >> because a stronghold is not what has a hold on you. >> That's the evidence of the stronghold. >> That's not the stronghold. >> The stronghold is used both positively and negatively in scripture.
The Bible talks about David going to his stronghold. It's like a fortress. It's what it's what you get behind to protect you. >> Jericho walls could be described as a stronghold >> cuz it kept the wrong thing. >> Right. Okay. Now, when Paul uses the word, >> he's not referring to the positive use of the word that keeps the wrong thing out.
He's referring to the negative use of the word that keeps the right thing from getting in. >> So the stronghold is a forces. It is fortress. It is it is thinking patterns, belief systems that are often formed by misinformation uh uh um um um unaligned philosophies or unadressed trauma.
Yeah. >> So the unadressed trauma has produced a belief system. >> And now that belief system is a wallow. >> And so whenever you hear teaching that doesn't align with the belief system you created, you don't let that teaching in. You reject it. So it's a stronghold. And so because there's no teaching that can challenge the way you view that thing, you keep doing that thing the same way.
So doing that thing the same way it isn't a stronghold. It's evidence that you won't let truth in to shift the way that you see that thing so that you can change your behavior. >> So if I gone through pain >> that has caused me to have a belief system that people can't be trusted, >> then that belief that people can't be trusted becomes a wall. >> And so when I hear teaching that says something like one can chase a thousand, >> two can put 10,000 to flight, >> I don't let that end.
My God. >> I got you. >> But when I hear teaching that says you got to discern who's around you, I let that in. >> Come on here. >> So whenever sermons are being preached, they're selective hearing. >> And the strongholds is determining >> what part of the sermon people actually receive. >> BUT PAUL says the stronghold is evidence of warfare.
THAT THAT'S THE WARFARE, >> not the issue, NOT THE NOT NOT NOT NOT THE PATTERN OF BEHAVIOR. THE warfare is in the mindset, the stronghold that has been erected. >> Jesus, >> the lie that's been accepted is truth that makes you reject the truth that you need to challenge the way that you see a thing so you can change the behavior.
So now I'll eat from the tree >> that God told me to stay away from >> because something has been erected in my mind that God's trying to keep me from being like him when I already am. >> Did you hear what I just said? >> Yeah. Genesis 3:1.
I'm in I'm in I'm in Genesis 3, y'all. Genesis 3:1. It says, "Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. And he said to her, did God really say you must not eat from any tree in the garden?" And then if you read the narrative, you'll see what the devil does. >> No, you won't die. >> God knows. >> God knows when you eat that, you're going to be like him.
And Genesis 1:26 says they were made in his image and likeness. >> So they're trying to become something they already are. >> So here they are. They don't live with boundaries. >> They remove restriction. >> They see that which is protective as restrictive. They make a decision. They make a decision because they feel like they are being deprived deprived of a tree, not realizing the decision that they made cost them the garden. >> Lord, don't let me lose the garden >> over a tree. >> Please don't let me lose the whole garden. over a tree. >> So the tree that they're supposed to avoid is the tree that they eat from.
And the Bible says that immediately their eyes will open. This is so interesting. Their eyes will open. It's almost like there's this holy ignorance that God wants wanted them to live with. Sure. >> Cuz it's almost like if my eyes are open, I would almost like see that automatically as a good thing. >> But the way the text framed it, it was like it was a bad thing. >> It was like they it's not it's not that they saw things.
It's like they they their eyes were open and then they they saw things in ways they shouldn't have seen it. >> And and I don't know what all they saw, but the text tells us one thing they saw. text says they saw themselves. >> It changed the way >> it it changed the way they saw themselves. >> It it changed the way that they saw them. >> And so here's what happens now.
Over a tree, they lose the garden. I would say that's a dark time. >> I would say that's a night season. >> And in the midst of this night season, um I think there are some lessons that Adam and Eve can teach us. Okay. >> I think and this is something as long as I've been reading this.
I've been reading my Bible regularly. Regularly. Regularly. I started 15. How you steal a Bible? I stole a Bible from I stole a Bible. I don't think they mine though. The G the Gideonss Bible they put in the hotels. Yes, sir. >> I tell I you Amen. I don't think I think I don't think the whoever Gideon is I I don't think they mine. >> So, I've been reading it I've been reading this Bible since I was 15. 31 years I've been reading this Bible. >> Listen to me.
And when I was studying for this lesson is the first time I ever saw this >> in over 30 years of reading the Bible. Wow. >> Adam and Eve got clearly confronted with their wrong, didn't they? >> God comes to them and they get clearly confronted with their wrong, >> but they never repent. >> Wow. >> Oh my. >> Look at the text. >> Maybe they still would have got kicked out of the garden.
I don't know. >> But I'm just wondering >> if they would have said Yeah, >> I'm sorry. >> I'm I I just I I don't know. I'm just wonder would things have turned out any differently if they would have just had a change of mind >> that leaded to a change of direction >> because their dark season was connected to a decision. >> This wasn't life lifing.
This was them them theming. Did you hear what I just said? So, I'm wondering, man, if you if this dark season is a result of a decision, if you go to the father >> and say, "I've had a change of mind >> that's going to lead to a change of direction.
Could things have turned out a bit differently for them?" Jesus. >> Cuz every decision is pregnant with the potential to produce a season. >> One decision can produce an entire season. >> And you and I, let's not judge Adam and Eve because it's not is remember we teach you here at change.
Don't just see the characters in the text. see yourself in the character. >> Yes, sir. >> All of us, not literally, but metaphorically, we can relate to Adam and Eve. >> We've removed restriction. >> We've saw that which was protective as restrictive. We've we've allowed trauma to create strongholds. >> We've had belief systems.
Am I making sense? We we we all we all can can relate can relate to them. We we made decisions that have um produced dark seasons. And those dark seasons are what we call night seasons. But but I believe Adam and Eve can help us turn night seasons into night school because they revealed to us.
They didn't repent. They revealed to us, family, what not to do in the dark. >> So I just want to share with you just just a few things here that I see in the text uh that that we shouldn't do in the dark. >> All right, TZ, we done.
Here it is. Number one, don't do this in the dark. Hide instead of heal. >> Verse eight >> says, "Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord among the trees."
Yeah, >> shame will have you hiding >> from the only one that can help. >> Did you hear what I just said? >> They're hiding and God's like, "I'm the only one that can help." >> And I know you're embarrassed, but I'm the only one that can help.
I know you're ashamed, but I'm the only one that can help. And there are some humans you probably should hide from. >> Come on. Come on. They run. >> But don't hide from me. >> Yeah. >> You you >> I'm the only one that can help. >> Watch this.
Now, this is important. They're hiding. I think speaks to shame. But you also see something else in the text that I think kind of connects to their hiding. The text says they went and found fig leaves >> and sewed the fig leaves to together to cover themselves because when their eyes were open they saw they were naked. >> So this this hiding speaks to self-reliance and self-dependence. >> I broke it so I got to fix it.
And this is really tough for non-Christians to wrap their head around because grace is a distinctively Christian concept. And in addition to that, it's real difficult for legalists and Pharisees to wrap their head around the gospel being rooted in a revelation that I broke it and I couldn't fix it.
So God did. >> Wow. >> The story of Come on. The gospel is God the Father sending Jesus the Son to fix what he didn't break. >> That's good. >> Cuz I'm Adam enough to get myself in it. >> But he's God enough >> to get me out. >> Yes, sir. >> Grace.
Come on. >> I don't deserve to come out, >> but grace >> gives me what I don't deserve. >> I should stay there. I should be left there, but grace comes and get me >> when justice would have left me. >> Thank God. >> And you know what the Bible says?
They they so fig leaves, but you know what the Bible says? It's in the text. God covered them with animal skin. You got them little fig leaves. >> You can't cover this like I can. >> Y'all not ready for that conversation. Yeah. You can't cover this the way I can.
You trying to cover it, but you can't. >> When the wind blow, you uncovered. >> Oh, that's good. Here's what I want you to see. You cannot get animal skin without blood. >> Come on. >> He's foreshadowing >> that I'mma use blood >> to cover you. >> So when you're in the night season >> and you feel shame and we feel embarrassed cuz my decisions led to these dark times, don't hide.
Go to God. Heal. >> I'm broken. I'm wrong. I'm in and I don't know how to get out. >> I want to get out and I want to stay in at the same time. I need your help. >> Don't do that in the dark. Number two, don't do this.
Don't assign blame instead of accepting ownership. Don't >> God say Adam what happened? He said the woman you gave me. >> He said, "Eve, what happened?" She say, "The serpent deceived me." >> Listen to me, please. No takers. Write this down. They were both right, but that wasn't the reason. >> Wow. >> Did you hear what I just said?
They were both right, but it wasn't the reason. >> Adam said, "The woman you gave me gave it to me, and I ate." That was true. Eve said, "The serpent deceived me." That was true, >> right? They were right, but that's not the reason. And sometimes when it comes to our night seasons, we're saying things that are right, but that's not the reason. >> My daddy wasn't in my life.
That's right. >> But you still knew not to do that. The reason they both made a choice was not because of what Eve did to Adam, what the serpent did to Eve. The Bible says Eve looked at it and she saw it was good for food. >> It was desirable.
And she took and she gave to her husband her husband who who was with her and he ate. See, we can't improve what we don't own. >> Deflection leads to disempowerment. Dark seasons have never destroyed a disciple. Denial will. >> Jesus. >> Lord have mercy. >> What's the reason?
This is something we can learn from Jonah because remember they were casting lots >> to see what was the reason >> for them going through that storm. He just watching them cast a lot. He's like now you know you know Jonah. The lot had to fall on Jonah for him to admit, you know what?
I'm I'm the proud >> ownership. It's me. It's me. Oh Lord, >> my God >> standing in the need of prayer. >> These are the conditions. These are the circumstances. I'm the reason ownership. And number three, don't do this in the dark. React emotionally instead of responding spiritually.
This is why this series I'm doing on Sundays right now called name dropping is so important. There's there's a word um I can't remember. I keep the the theologian keeps escaping me, but he did this whole treatise on like the scandalous nature of grace. It's like scandalon is a word that he uses.
And he describes how grace is so central to the Christian's understanding of God, but so difficult for the Christian to actually accept and wrap their head around. So, we respond emotionally and not spiritually because you don't get grace. Not that you don't receive grace, you don't get gra like mentally you don't you don't get.
So I react emotionally and impulsively and sometimes trying to fix the problem I create one. >> Yes sir. >> Hagar. >> Abraham. Hagar. >> Sometimes trying to fix a problem I create one >> instead of responding spiritually. Lord, I know the first decision I made was emotional, but this next one's going to be spiritual. >> I'm I'm believing you full of grace. >> Did y'all hear what I just said? >> So, I want to not just react emotionally.
You try to figure this out. I want to respond spiritually. Father, I don't deserve to hear from you, but grace >> will prompt you to speak to me when I deserve the silent treatment. >> So, I wasn't listening to you. That's the way I got in it. >> But I know the only way to get out >> is for you to speak. >> So, I won't react emotionally.
I'm going to respond spiritually. >> Yes. >> Because I'm in a night season and you can you're the only one that can show me where the light is. And I don't know who this is for, but I just want to encourage somebody, whoever you are, wherever you are, that our God will turn night seasons into night school.
And let Adam and Eve be our examples of what not to do in the dark because God has a way of bringing you to the light. >> I don't even have time. Even in the text, as he is articulating the implications of what they did, he made a promise to that woman.
He say, "Even though you made this decision, don't you mess with me. Even though you made this decision, >> I'mma put something in you, >> and you going to give birth to somebody >> who will bruise his heel >> on the serpent's head. >> So now, let's reframe the seasons that we're in that are dark. >> Let's relabel them.
I'm no longer in night seasons. I'm in night school. And I want to pray for some of you today that are in that place. We have prayer requests that come in to the blueprint each week. And we actually have a blueprint prayer team that gathers. I mean that prays each week weekly over your requests.
We redact and remove your names. And that team prays over your requests and once a month Dr. Dudley gathers that team together and they pray corporately according to uh our understanding that our impact is exponentially increased when we collaborate and come together. The power of all of us is greater than the power of any one of us.
And so we believe that applies to prayer. And so as you send those prayer requests in, we want you to know even if your name's be not being called on this broadcast, your situation's being lifted up to heaven. And God knows your name and God knows your situation and your circumstance.
But somebody's in a night season. Chanel Avette, we want you to know we're praying for you. Uh Amber Adams, we want you to know we're praying for you. Shondaanda Holly, we're believing God with you for the physical healing of your sister. I'm going to be teaching on that soon.
He is Rafa. Yes, he is. >> Yahweh Rafa, >> Jehovah Rafa. >> So, we're going to be believing God for you. Pamela, we got your request. Pamela Conway, Nicole Barry, and Sierra Lane. We're lifting you up to the Father. And whatever requests that you may have, I want you to drop them in the chat now.
And we're going to as a family lift those requests up to the Father. Father, I just thank you now that your word is true. That your ear is leaning in the direction of your people. That even your eyes run to and fro throughout the whole earth. That you may show yourself strong toward those whose heart is upright toward you.
Kind father, I pray now for each and every person who is standing in the need of supernatural intervention. Father, they're in a night season, but we thank you that you're turning it into night school. We pray God for every request that was lifted up to us through email and every request that is in the chambers and the secret places of people's hearts.
We pray that you would meet needs according to your riches in glory. That you would heal relationally, emotionally, that you would provide financially, that you would give clarity and discernment, that you would order steps as only you can. And we lay claim to your promise over your people that they are the head, not the tail, above only, not beneath, blessed and not cursed.
Would they walk in that assurance with that revelation? Cause a revolution in their soul and in their life. I thank you for this. We commit this into your care in Jesus' name. Amen. Come on, clap your hands. Let's give him praise in the room. Drop some fire in the chat, man.
So grateful to have you with us. For those of you that understand the principle and the power of sewing and reaping, lower thirds are on the screen now, which articulate and demonstrate ways in which you can give. And we look forward to seeing you back next week for part two of this Bible study called Night School.
See you next week. Take care. Hey, hey,
