The Middle East Conflict, Part 1

Transcript

Welcome to this very important Hegy Ministries program. Pastor Hegy and I are here today to share with you biblical truth, historic documentation, and current events that directly impact your everyday life. Our topic today, anti-semitism. A term that is being used very often, but very few truly understand the full weight of its meaning.

How prevalent is it in the United States? How prevalent is it in our government, our educational system, and many religious organizations? It's not just a national problem. It's not just a global problem. It's not even a global problem from nation to nation. It is a problem between heaven and earth because God himself doesn't have an opinion on the matter.

He's the one who has the final word. Dad, welcome and congratulations on writing another book. You know, you've written more than 40 major books at this point in 67 years of ministry. Why is this topic and this book such an important work at this time in your life? >> The answer is that we have reached a tipping point in world history.

For decades we were headed towards a path of everinccreasing prosperity and freedom. Yet now the ark of history is not bending towards justice. As Dr. Martin Luther King said, "Evil and iniquity are spreading, and one can follow and trace that thread by following the tracing of the spread of anti-semitism around the world."

Anti-semitism, it's not just a modern issue. In this book, you trace the history of it. And when it comes to history, anti-semitism is one of the most pervasive sins found threaded throughout the world. >> It is. How far back does anti-semitism go in recorded history? Since the Amalocites first attacked the children of Israel in the desert after they were freed by the Lord from the bondage in Egypt, that's when anti-semitism began.

And that spirit of Amalecch, the pure evil, irrational hatred is still with us to this very day. People who are watching this program, they probably hear a topic like this, anti-semitism, Jew hatred. Those are strong words, and they think immediately, well, I'm not anti-semitic. I I support Israel and the Jewish people.

Why is this book important for them to read? It's important because to support Israel and the Jewish people in your heart is good. To do so with your actions is better and to do so with a full understanding of what you're defending and fighting against is best. This book enables one who is just starting to learn or who considers themselves learned to further their education about this vital topic.

Anti-semitism brings the curse of God to many nations. The Bible says, God speaking, I will curse those who curse you. That's God's promise. When it comes to that curse, I think it's important to just take a moment and and expound on the conversation about nations because individuals believe that if they are obedient and they are faithful, then that curse doesn't apply to them.

But if that curse is on your land, it certainly affects you. And I think there are a lot of faithful believers in the United States who are affected by the things that are happening in our government, in our nation, and might feel frustrated that they're having to deal with these curses.

But much of these issues are directly connected to the anti-semitic positions that our nation has taken against the state of Israel and against the Jewish people. Is that not correct? >> That's true. One of the first government policies concerning the Jewish people is recorded in Exodus 1:es 8-10.

The Bible says, "Now there arose a new king over Egypt who did not know Joseph." In order for that to be the case, he had to deny the historical contribution Joseph had made to his nation. Joseph literally saved the human race. There were monuments to Joseph all over Egypt. >> Yes.

So, how does this pattern repeat itself when government leaders deny history in order to support their bias? You know, this happens in our nation. We've seen anarchy in our streets. We've seen modern revisionists try to erase our past. They want to get rid of individuals who were patriots, who were men of faith, who were willing to serve their country and defame their images.

They they remove statues of the patriots who founded this nation. And it's created an environment where they can rewrite history. When the United States starts rewriting its history, how large is this anti-semitic issue? >> From the Jewish origins of Western civilization to the modern history of the Jewish people all the way up to the present day events in the Middle East, history and facts are regularly distorted by evil politicians and dictators.

From Pharaoh's enslavement of the Jewish people to the United Nations demonization against the Jewish state, the distortion of facts, history, and morality are common tools of evil leaders. Members of the UN spend the majority of their time attacking Israel. In my opinion, the UN is a useless and corrupt organization. making that statement and and the words that you were sharing from Exodus chapter 1, there arose a Pharaoh who knew not Joseph.

That Pharaoh started to say things to Egypt that weren't true, but by spreading the lie, he created fear. What if the Jews populate faster than we do and they take over? What if they join with one of our enemies and they destroy us? And it was the fear from that lie that caused the Egyptian people to willingly throw Jewish children into the Nile.

This is why Moses's mother hid the boy in a basket. >> When we return, the discussion continues with Adolf Hitler's rise in Europe. The resurrection of Jesus Christ changed everything. In my new book, From the Tomb to Triumph, I take you through this resurrection truth. From the suffering of the cross to the empty tomb and into the authority every believer is called to live in today. >> This month, for your gift of any amount to support the work of Hegy Ministries, we want to send you Pastor John Haggy's new book, From Tomb to Triumph. claim the victory of the resurrection.

And with your love gift of $125 or more, we'll send you our handcrafted Genesis 123 olivewood anointing oil set box from Israel. And with your gift of $500 or more. In addition, you'll also receive the Prophecy Study Bible and His Glory Revealed. >> The Risen King reigns now and his power is at work in you.

Call the number on your screen, use the QR code, or go to jhm.org/spring. >> This is why Moses's mother hid the boy in a basket. >> Yeah. >> Because there was evil in Egypt. People were throwing children, human beings to crocodiles. Hitler, he comes to power in Germany.

He starts spreading lies. The fear from the lies that he spread caused the German people to support his final solution and ultimately kill 6 million Jews. It's called the Holocaust. Now, we have world leaders, as you mentioned, the UN, who are spreading lies. They're using words like genocide, which nobody's in favor of genocide, but they're ascribing genocide to the state of Israel for defending itself.

True. >> And the things that are causing the same fear are making people react in unreasonable and and inhumane ways towards the state of Israel. We see Jewish people here in the city of San Antonio chased down the street. We see Jews attacked on the corners in New York City and people want to say it's justified because of a lie that is being spread by a government.

This is a historic pattern that goes back to the first five books of the Bible. The source of Pharaoh's anti-semitic policy. It was a combination of jealousy and fear. What was the situation that caused it? Pharaoh was jealous of God's favor and blessing on the Jewish people. He said, "Look at the people of the children of Israel who are more mightier than we are." >> Which wasn't true. >> That was not true.

But he was spreading fear. >> Correct. >> He's afraid of what could happen or would happen if the Jewish people joined the enemies of Egypt to defeat Egypt or they would just outpop populate them and take them over. So come let us deal shrewdely with them is what he said lest they multiply and it happen in the event of war that they join our enemies and fight against us.

How are governments around the world today taking the same approach in their policies toward Israel trying to prevent growth and control Israel's future. You know, when you talk about the policies that they're taking, one of the things that comes to mind as we describe Pharaoh's jealousy, the reason that the Jewish people were prospering is the same reason that nations that support Israel prosper.

God made a promise. He made a promise to Abraham. I will bless you. He didn't make a promise that Abraham was always going to be in the most comfortable situation, that he was going to live where he wanted to live, like he wanted to live in the way he wanted to live.

But what you see in the history of Israel is that God's hand of blessing has always been on the Jewish people. >> Amen. >> When they went to Egypt, they were blessed. The blessing was they were fruitful and they multiplied. It was God's blessing that caused Pharaoh's jealousy.

It was God's blessing that caused Pharaoh to suddenly have fear motivated by the godlessness in him. When we see these same patterns in the world today, how much jealousy do we see modern governments taking towards the state of Israel? >> At at every turn and for decades, world governments first bend the knee to materialism and trade before considering the contents of the word of God.

As such, when they see Israel's strength, when they see Israel's brilliance, when they see Israel's prosperity despite the Jewish state small size and malignant neighbors, they are jealous rather than appreciative of the blessing that the associated innovation brings to every person on planet earth. During the Obama and Biden administrations, they gave billions of dollars to Iran, which gave it to Hamas, which leads to this present war of October 2023.

With that decision by an American administration, America fundamentally invited the hand of God to turn against it. Because if you are providing resources to the enemy of Israel, you're not blessing the Jewish people. That's true. You are empowering those who want to afflict them to take action against them.

And what have we seen in this nation since that occurred? We haven't seen peace and prosperity. We've seen chaos and upheaval. And I believe that we have an obligation as believers in the word of God, not only to declare the truth, but to take action based on the truth and support leaders who are willing to stand for truth.

There's a lot of anti-semitism presently in our United States government. And it's not just a part of world history and biblical history. It's also deeply rooted in religious history. I remember as a child when you began to do deep studies on the history of Israel and the church and what you discovered was that religion has been one of the chief propagators of Jew hatred. >> Absolutely. >> Why?

From the false doctrine of replacement theology to certain radical elements of Islam, anti-semitism has indeed infected millions of people throughout the ages. The reason different people are consumed by this hatred varies. For some, they are spoonfed such bigotry from the time they are children they become anti-semmites. For example, UNrun schools in Gaza taught the most vile anti-semitism for years.

And to this very day, Palestinian children are indoctrinated into Jew hatred. For others, anti-semitism is a result of their biblical illiteracy. For example, Christians who blame the Jews for the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ do not know the first thing about the written word of God. It's Bible stupidity.

Finally, there are still others, many in the celebrity space, who recognize that so putrid have various swaths of society become that Jew hatred and its associated controversy is a springboard to fame in certain parts of America, the alleged land of the free and the home of the brave. in all of the reasons that you just listed and and you document them more fully in your book, The Middle East conflict, one of the things that I think we could spend a little time in this conversation addressing is what is replacement theology for you and I.

It's a term, but there's a lot of listeners who are watching today. There's a lot of viewers that they hear that and they don't fully understand what it is and why it exists. And I think it's important for you to take a moment and tell us more about replacement theology and why it's there so that the listener who's not familiar with it can identify it because it is very prevalent in many many denominations.

When we return, pastors discuss the origins of replacement theology. >> Israel is under attack. Missiles from Iran rain down, sirens sound through the night, and innocent families rush into bomb cellers, praying they will see another sunrise. This is not a geopolitical conflict. This is a prophetic moment. The Bible tells us that in the last days, Jerusalem would become a cup of trembling to the nations.

What we are witnessing today is history moving exactly as scripture predicted. And in moments like this, the question is not what is happening. The question is where do we stand right now? Your support delivers life-saving care, emergency medical facilities, and supplies and protection to families living under fire.

When you stand with Israel, you stand on the side of God's covenant promises. This is a prophetic hour. Stand with Israel. Give now. >> In a world filled with noise, one message still brings peace. At Hegy Ministries, our mission is clear. Proclaim the truth of God's word, equip believers, and reach the lost no matter the cost.

From the sanctuary of hope to feeding the hungry and caring for the sick. From social media to our broadcast outreach, the borders of Israel and beyond. We go where God sends us. But this mission is accomplished because of you. Your prayers, your generosity, your heart for the kingdom.

The world is desperate for truth, for hope, for a savior. Partner with us today at jhm.org/partner and be part of something eternal. Together we are the hands and feet of Jesus. And I think it's important for you to take a moment and tell us more about replacement theology and why it's there so that the listener who's not familiar with it can identify it because it is very prevalent in many many denominations.

It's something that goes back centuries. What is replacement theology? Replacement theology is someone who believes that the Jewish people have been replaced by the church in the economy of God. That God has forgotten the Jewish people. That they have lost their privileged position as the chosen children of God.

That is an absolute lie. The Bible very clearly says over and over, there are 134 verses in the Bible that confirm that God's love for the Jewish people is forever. The land that God gave the Jewish people is their land forever. When you talk about an absolute lie, many replacement theo the theologians will take Bible verses and they'll twist them. that they will take the text out of context and use those defenses to suggest that God in essence has turned his back, replaced Israel, people with whom he made covenant with the church that that we are the new chosen people. >> Yeah.

And the reality is we're not the new chosen, but because of Jesus Christ, who was a Jew, >> Yeah. >> we have been grafted into the chosen. >> Absolutely. >> The covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is still in existence and still being fulfilled in God's economy. We started this conversation by saying God has the final say so on the matter.

He has not changed his position on Israel but through his son Jesus Christ made it possible for you and I as Paul said who were outside of the covenants to be brought into the same covenant. And that same covenant is that we have access by the blood of Jesus to the promises of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. we've been grafted into and now have that same inheritance.

So, anytime a Bible believer hears someone stating that the church is the new Israel, what they need to know is they're hearing replacement theology, >> right? >> And the replacement theology is that God has turned his back on the Jew and we should too. Every Christian should make it a point to study Romans 9:10 and 11.

That's God's position paper on the Jewish people. The 11th chapter begins with this question. Paul is saying, "Has God cast away his people?" And he said, "Absolutely not. I'm a Jew and he's still using me." And he goes on to shred the replacement theology in that chapter. Those three chapters are so rich with Bible teaching and preaching that many preachers are afraid to preach it because it crushes the replacement theology they have been preaching for years.

I saw this as a child when World War II was going on and Israel was having so much trouble. of the Holocaust, it was easy to say, >> "God has replaced him. >> God has God has replaced him. >> He's rejected him." >> And my mother, God bless her, said, "God has not replaced the Jewish people."

And Israel is going to have a nation at some point in the future. Now, consider the fact that when we found out that all of these 6 million Jewish people had been killed, replacement theology seemed >> acceptable. >> Acceptable. And then May 1948 when we were sitting in our kitchen at home and heard over the radio because there was no TV then over the radio that the United Nations had recognized Israel as the state.

My mother said this is the day that replacement theology gets crucified. God loves the Jewish people. They are still his people. Israel is going to become a dominant nation and the world might as well get ready to get used to it. And it happened. Not only did it happen, but it fulfilled the prophetic word of Isaiah >> that a nation would be born in a day.

And it helped connect many of the prophecies that were spoken about the dispersed people, which were the Jewish people, taken from their homeland, brought back to the land that God had given in covenant. Proof again that the covenant still stands. What are three things that everyone who's watching this program can do, should do, must do to stand up against anti-semitic influence, especially since it's so prevalently sweeping through this nation in this generation. >> The first thing you can do is educate yourself.

You need to learn what history can teach you and what your faith demands of you. And you need to start with the Bible. I want you to start with Romans 9:10 and 11. When you get that issue fully settled, it will change your life forever. Once you get informed, take action.

When you hear replacement theology preached in your church, speak up. If your pastor refuses to change his anti-Israel position, change churches. When you hear about an anti-Semitic individual running for or holding office or trying to advance anti-Israel policies, don't be shy. Speak up. Use your voice. Not to speak is to speak.

God will not hold us guiltless. Finally, pray. Prayer is our honor and it is our privilege. If the Lord is willing to listen, we should speak to him often. Pray for our country and pray for your neighbors and pray for the peace of Jerusalem. They shall prosper that love you.

Do you want to prosper? Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. That's God's promise. In our next program, Pastor Hegy and I are going to connect some of the dots from Egypt and the book of Exodus to Hitler and the Holocaust to what you see happening on many college campuses and universities in America today.

How is this behavior being allowed? Who's funding the effort? What is their goal? And why do they seek to achieve it? Finally, what role do you play in stopping it? We're discussing pastor's latest book, The Middle East Conflict. And I want to thank you for being a part of today's program.
