and how many of you know we're facing some battles we're facing some battles personally spiritually we're facing some battles medically we're facing some battles in our government we're facing some battles in our families in our marriage some battles we're facing are just within ourselves but if the battle truly belongs to the lord then why don't we give it to him tonight so tonight whatever it is that you're battling you're gonna give it to the lord because the battle is his and his alone all we have to do is worship all we have to do is lay it down and worship do you believe that tonight seated glad to be here amen full house tonight amen and it's beautiful that it's really all organic growth especially on wednesdays because we've not do anything we've really not even let people know that we do wednesdays i might once a month say hey see you wednesday night to the big crowd on sunday but it's just people kind of finding out we've put no ads behind it we've done no kind of letting people know like we do on sundays for the big revival service under the tent so because of that this this whole place right here on the weekends is being completely transformed and metamorphosized if you will into our children's ministry because we have so many kids coming give the lord a hand on that amen isn't that a beautiful thing so they got their own worship experience and a lot of things going on wednesday nights mrs maria of course in just a moment is going to take all the boys and girls back there all the elementary aged children and they'll be having a prayer time on a bible time it's going to be a beautiful beautiful time and then the students will be dismissed in a few moments with brother jesse and his wife up on the hill in the student building and so we look forward to them having a small group bible study as well but because we've not done anything because we've not put any promotion behind it and because every week we're still having to sit out chairs sit out share sit out chairs set out chairs uh we're gonna see what it's like to sectionalize off the middle part of the tent and start having wednesday nights under the tent all right and so next wednesday night we're gonna be under the big tent and uh we're gonna we're gonna see what it's gonna look like kind of keep everybody in the middle i don't know we might just grow out and like do like sunday who knows what's gonna happen amen have every night service the lord show up revival starts flowing like it has been it's been amazing hasn't it two weeks under that tent every seat full every week people standing up everywhere i think we had more people baptized this sunday than we did the previous sunday and the previous sunday was a record man people just keep getting saved and the lord just keeps blessing it's just been unbelievable and so next week next wednesday night we're just going to see what happens and we've already got speakers hanging and lights and all that and so hopefully it won't be too much set up and take down for the crew so we'll just have wednesday night out under the big tent in the middle section see what happens it's going to be beautiful and i just continue to utilize this on the weekends for our young people isn't it great to have a church building that you really can't even functionally use anymore isn't that beautiful and to god be the glory god's doing some good stuff in the morning we have something brand new you're not going to miss out on this i know some of you been talking to miss maria and miss stephanie about this but tomorrow we have the first of many gatherings 10 a.m right here in the sanctuary home school small group meets tomorrow all right and we have a lot of families that are moving here a lot of people that are pulling their kids out of school which is a wonderful idea and so we're building a whole network right here at global vision for homeschool parents and so in the morning at 10 a.m in the sanctuary homeschool small group will be meeting with miss stephanie and miss maria you're not going to want to miss out on that it's going to be a beautiful beautiful time well how many of you know that the enemy has been crazy at work this week amen he's been doing some stuff he's doing all kinds of things behind the scenes on the scenes around the scenes and under the scenes but we just praise the lord for all that the lord is doing tomorrow morning at ten o'clock is that when they're meeting ten o'clock iron men men's retreat heading out to fort bluff dayton tennessee first men's retreat we've ever done in all these years 118 men signed up for the glory of god amen it's going to be a beautiful beautiful time and uh pastor danny pastor john brother stan they're going to be speaking throwing the word at these men it's going to be a great time of just accountability and humility and loving on each other it's just going to be great man i just i'm just looking forward to hearing all the reports of what the lord is going to do it's going to be exciting this weekend's gonna be a beautiful beautiful time i've already got word of many many visitors for the very first time for whatever reason this weekend are gonna be showing up under the tent we're excited about that the lord is good tomorrow night actually it's not anything to do with global vision or with pastor locke but tomorrow night uh the nashville outpouring begins and they set up a tent see it's about 1200 people and they've done this the last couple of years at the titan stadium uh in the parking lot and uh pastor tony suarez a dear evangelist friend of mine will be there malachi o'brien i think tomorrow night they have jensen franklin friday night they have rod parsley and they have the crab family going to be speaking throughout the week so it's going to be beautiful so i'll be there tomorrow night just to be there i told them i don't need a microphone i don't have to preach i don't have to pray but a number of months ago our church helped them get the tent up financially and they were hurting a little bit they were behind the eight ball as it were and i was riding my bicycle around the titan stadium and god said hey i want you to call tony and ask him what they need i called him and i said god put a number on my heart i'm not gonna tell you what it is until you tell me what you need and he told me exactly the number that god placed upon my heart and so our church sowed into them helped them get that tent up so tomorrow night they're gonna be publicly honoring our church for that and uh i told him i said look i don't care how revival comes to nashville as long as revival comes to nashville amen i just want to be a part of it i don't care whose church gets the credit and gets the glory as long as god gets the glory at the end of the day so that starts tomorrow night i think the doors of the tent open at six o'clock and uh you say pastor you mean that you're you're kind of like promoting somebody else's meeting yep it's the lord's meeting amen so if you need to get there and get touched by the lord you get down to the titan stadium it's free seats and you get in there and i know the lord will bless you socks off with that i'm going to go tomorrow night and i'm going to go uh sunday night so if anybody wants to go let me know it's going to be a great and glorious time but i know the men are going to be doing great well we got to get to prayer time amen because we had 71 pages now understand there's multiple prayer requests on every page 71 pages in two days of prayer requests that came into the office just of facebook responses and so we have a lot of people that we need to pray for a lot of people that we're going to pray for and we never apologize for taking extra time in our service to pray because these people entrust us with big burdens right i mean problems heartaches sickness cancer marital difficulty divorce dark things that they're walking through broke down cars burn up houses needing new jobs needing healing these people trust us with a lot of stuff and so how many believe we got to keep our word and pray for them tonight amen so we're going to pray for every one of these by name even the ones that don't have a name guess what god knows their name you know what's interesting i just kind of scooped these up i had them in four piles and i just kind of grabbed them real quick let me tell you what i like about this church this is cool the very first one if i'm lying i'm dying very first one pray for the lox family how you like that i got my got my own prayer request right there baby right on top so uh amen at least i know that our church family will be praying for us tonight as you can see i got gimpy here with me on the platform amen most beautiful crippled-legged lady you'll ever see in all of your life she's going to lead us in prayer in a moment and so because she's uh she's a little bit incapacitated i'm going to have destiny and miss stephanie come and they're going to give out our prayer request tonight now we're a little bit mismanaged on our space obviously so here's what we're going to do all of our boys and girls they're going to be going with miss maria go ahead and start standing up right now and you can run you can flip you can skip you can hop you can scream you can do whatever you want to and just make your way all the way down here to this little side section with miss maria and you can go back there with her tonight you're going to have a glorious glorious time of prayer and bible study and activities and games and all that amen i love our little kids around here amen aren't they beautiful all right all the boys and girls can be dismissed so for our prayer team uh do y'all want to open that up and use this little side section over here so you have a little bit more room to pray let's do that let's uh let's slip that right through open greg if you would and our prayer team are normally right over here but they're gonna be in here tonight in this little room if you need prayer and you don't get it that's on you not us we want you to come down let some people pray with you pray for you lay hands on you pray over you tonight whatever you have in your body whatever you have or the lack thereof in your bank account or what's going on in your home or your life if you just need some counsel tonight these folks will pray for you and so in a moment when we stand to get these requests i want you to come down here and you get some prayer tonight it will take some time during the worship just to continue to let them pray and let them pray and if you want to get some requests then you know the drill you don't have to if you're a newcomer a first time or a global vision you pop in the first time you're a guest you come next week and you are family there's no doubt about that and so you you've already learned the drill if you've come one time but i'm going to give these ladies these prayer requests and i want you to stand up let's come get these cards let's kneel all around this area to the front row here you can take them back to your seat let's kneel all over the platform if you need to come up on the platform that's fine i always love to see the saints of god littered all around the floor praying spending time with the lord come on tonight let's pray prayer church foreign our students in a few moments will be slipping out and so maybe the easiest thing for all of our students 6th grade through the 12th grade is just go ahead and make your way down you can still spend some time in prayer but just come over here to the side section that way we can we can kind of free it up a little bit for the folks that are praying tonight so all of our students that will be leaving in a moment you can just slip right over here to the that's side i'm we end up running out of cards you can just lift yours up when you're done and you can get them to people that are all over the building we have some folks over here if you need to get some cards tonight um is oh oh that's fine worshipped father tonight we enter into your gates with thanksgiving lord lord and we just thank you for who you are god we thank you that we're able to gather here tonight and lord that we have been trusted to pray for so many people all over the place and god we know that as we call out these names god that you are listening and lord that your desire is to hear from your children and to answer us and lord we thank you for that we thank you that no matter the valley that you are there with us god god such a beautiful sound it is to hear all the prayers of the saints going up and what a fulfillment of a commandment that you gave to us to bear one another's burdens and so fulfill the law of christ and god we just thank you for the opportunity to be able to do that to be able to come to you in our time of need and to find help to obtain mercy and grace in the throne room father tonight we just lift you on high in this place the name above all names the good shepherd and lord we thank you that you are our shepherd that you lead us and you guide us god you go before us and lord we thank you that no matter what we're facing that we don't have to fret and we don't have to worry because you have already gone before us you already see into tomorrow god and lord we thank you for that truth lord tonight we just ask as so many kids are going back to school and so many parents are starting home school lord we just ask for your peace to come over them god we lift up our children to you in this time lord if we left it up to the world they wouldn't know anything about you and so god tonight i thank you for godly parents i thank you for men and women that will still stand and raise their children to train their children up in the way that they should go lord we thank you for that we thank you that in the midst of our church you are strengthening our families god and lord we are so excited to see what you are going to do in our midst god you have done so much already but we know that we have just now scratched the surface we are learning deeper levels of who you are god and it is beautiful lord we thank you that you truly have opened up the windows of heaven and poured your spirit out among us we have felt heaven invade earth we have met with the holy one and lord we thank you we thank you that you come and you meet us exactly where we are and god we thank you for a body of believers that comes together and prays for each other that is doing all that we can to stand in the days that we're living in god would you continue to grow us continue to give us boldness and courage god that we would fulfill your calling and what your will is god we say let your will be done on earth as it is in heaven and lord we just thank you in jesus name amen pastor greg was preaching on sunday morning from book of matthew the rest of that story the fourth watch of the night he comes to them walking on the sea that's jesus but when the disciples saw him they were terrified and they said it's a ghost and i just look at that right there and i see that they found exactly what it was that they were looking for they weren't looking for the savior they would have identified him what they were looking for was something to be afraid of it's a ghost and jesus said it's high be not afraid he said take heart do not be afraid they cried out in fear and he said hold up don't be afraid and peter said lord if it's you if it's really you lord i i believe it i hear you i see you but if it's really you then would you would you bid me to come on the water and jesus says one word he doesn't give him an explanation of how things are gonna happen he doesn't tell him exactly how everything's gonna go down he gives him one word he says come he says come how many of you know that our walk has to be centered on the word of god and even in the middle of a moment of fear when jesus says come you just get out of the boat and start walking i think we picture peter out on the water kind of navigating it real soft and scared like this but i i'm here to tell you friend i'm bit out on that water there's sharks in there he was moving across the the water to get to jesus but he started to look around looking for the same things they were looking for when they saw a ghost they weren't looking for the holy ghost they saw a ghost he begins to sink into the water he prays a prayer here it is when we just scan the bible when we make it boring we miss it he doesn't say lord if it be your will would you save me as he begins to sink into this water and he begins to drown obviously peter was a fisherman didn't know how to swim very well he said lord save me and jesus immediately reached out to him and took hold of him saying to him oh you a little faith and when they get back into the boat everyone that was in the fellowship that was watching the man filled with faith we get so down on peter sometimes but he's the only one who got to experience that miracle and what a beautiful moment that even though we're hard on him for looking at the wind and looking at the waves in that moment of fear he prayed a simple prayer three words lord save me lord save me lord save me and immediately jesus did it some of you are seated seated in the room tonight and there's a simple prayer that you need to pray in the middle of your financial situation in the middle of your health crisis in the middle of your family debacle and the fights and the problems and the stresses and the angers and the bitterness some of you just need to reach out tonight by faith and say lord save me and immediately he promises to do it to reach down his hand and to pick you up out of that mess and to carry you back into fellowship where everyone will get to worship because of your situation watching god deliver you what a beautiful thing what a beautiful thing that even when i get so distracted by fear all i have to do is say lord save me and he does you know for that reason we don't have to be a slave to fear you know that's exactly what the media is trying to do to you that's exactly what the enemy wants to do to you that is exactly what satan has in store for you that's what he has in mind for you for you to be wrapped up bound and crippled by this emotion this decision hey this sin called fear you can't be afraid of more than one thing at the same time and so if the fear of the lord is the beginning of wisdom but i'm afraid of everything else under the sun i'm not fearing the lord when i'm afraid of him when i have a fear of him when i am fearful because of him and when i have that all struck fear of who god is i don't have time to be afraid of anything else and here's what the enemy is doing distracting you by every other little thing to get you to see the wind that is blowing every which way to see the waves that are moving rather than the one who's been walking steadily and assuredly on top of every problem since he created the world his name is jesus and he wants to save you so i'm no longer a slave to fear here's the reason why child of god hey i don't have to worry the father's provided for every single one of my meals he's provided for the roof over my head he says consider the lilies look at the birds i take care of them and you mean so much more to me than them when we remember who we are we'll know what to do and the moments that we live in fear are the times when we've forgotten i am a child of god i get to rest in my father's arms i get to trust that he's got the wallet that pays the bills he's got the big arms that pick me up from my problems he has the wisdom to tell me every step to take and you know what when the enemy comes against me and when the problems arise and the storms get scary and dark i'm a child of god so i'm not a slave to fear so i want you to stand all over this room right now and i want us to boldly declare this in this moment hey i want you to sing so loud that the people up on mount juliet road go what in the world has happened down there on old leaven and dirt road this is our anthem this is our declaration i am a child of who amen sing it church would you meet with us here today father would you just meet with us here we bring worship to your name ((music playing)) you surround me with a song of deliverance from my enemies ((music playing)) foreign ((music playing)) a child of god ((music playing)) ((music playing)) and i've been born again ((music child of god i feel like this generation has lost its identity we've let other people tell us who we are what we are what we're to be afraid of what we're to do how we're to dress how we're to speak how we're to raise our children's we've lost our identity we are his children we are grafted into his family when we accept christ as our father our name is written in his family the book of life so some of us need to stop letting other people tell us what we can do how hard we can go how high we can go ((music playing)) what we're to think of ourselves so we're gonna sing this we're gonna sing this again because knowing who he is allows us to realize who we are ((music playing)) knowing who he is allows us to know what our inheritance is so we're going to speak that over our lives tonight because he splits the sea so we can walk right through it our fears ((music playing)) ((music playing)) ((applause)) i am a child of god cause this is what he does ((music playing)) ((applause)) ((music playing)) ((music playing)) ((applause)) i yes yes ((applause)) ((music playing)) ((applause)) yes hallelujah hallelujah you can be seated shout amen ((applause)) that's a blessing right there amen that's a blessing you know what i want to can i keep my keyboard tonight can i keep my keyboard man tonight could i keep you up here tonight you a good man charlie brown praise the lord and uh i just feel led to do that just because i'm not i'm i know sometimes i say i'm not going to preach long i'm not because this is interesting this she didn't know this i didn't tell nobody in the room this i told my wife i said she bout to steal my message up for worshiping i told pastor john we was going to do a little tag team tonight so he just kind of jumped up during prayer and kind of got everybody excited about revival and singing about no longer a slave to fear and all of that i told him i said i got a little i said i got like a little 12 15 minutes in me tonight i said i just got a little devotion and i preach when i devotionalize amen so i i'll give you the money's worth of showing up but i i just have something on my heart that that god penetrated my spirit with a couple of days ago and i've been wanting to share it didn't know where i was going to thought i was going to share it in a staff meeting the other day it just wasn't right time i thought i was going to share it on this program that i was on earlier today wasn't the right time so i thought you know what i'm just going to share it on wednesday night and i'm telling you it is so in line in heart in touch and in tune with what she just saying and what the holy spirit led her to say i'm telling you it dovetails beautifully with the next few moments of what i want to share from my heart because i believe if you can get a hold of what i'm about to teach you for the next few moments and i'm going to teach you three things from one phrase three things out of one verse in the bible actually one phrase of a verse in the bible but if you can get a hold of what i'm about to teach you and what she just told you it'll set some of you free tonight you talk about revival it'll revolutionize your home tonight if you can get a hold of what i'm about to tell you if you can wrap your heart and mind around it it'll set you free on your job in your ministry financially emotionally physically spiritually in every way it'll set you free tonight from whatever you are walking through and i care not what it is because all of us are walking through something all of us are walking through something as the old preacher of yesteryear said if you're going through hell keep going just keep going so let's ask the lord for his wisdom i'm going to be in matthew chapter 3 and i'm really just going to share with you tonight one powerful phrase that's used two different times in the bible from father to jesus and i'll tell you three reasons tonight why i said it because what i'm going to give you tonight is what every single person needs from their parent from their spouse from their god from their boss from their kids every one of us crave the three things that jesus got from his father in one phrase father tonight bless the word of god to our hearts thank you that no matter what the media says we are not slaves to fear we are not bending we are not bowing we are not giving in we will stand tall because a city center on a hill cannot be hid let your light so therefore shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your father so we get to do the works and you get all the credit for it so lord tonight we give you praise in advance by faith for what you're about to do speak to our hearts lord it'll just be a few moments but with your word that's all we need and i just feel in my heart tonight that you have a simple short message that you're going to radically use to set all of us free both in-house and online and we're going to thank you for it in jesus name and all of god's people said in matthew chapter 3 just before going into the wilderness to temptation in chapter 4 you have the baptism of jesus the bible says that when jesus went into the water and came out of the water something interesting happened when the heavens open and after that immediately it says that jesus was led of the spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil and although it's not what i'm going to talk about tonight let me just say when you go public when you let people know i'm going to serve god you better know the devil's not going to take it lying down he's going to come against you with every forceful bit of power that he has in his diabolical bag of magic tricks so be careful to just willy-nilly and casually jump up and say i'm going to serve the lord the devil is going to see that you don't and if you make it public you better know the enemy's going to fight you over it and the moment he went public he went 40 days of fasting in the wilderness but there are two times in the new testament it's mentioned in every single book of the bible and one way or the other there's two times when the heavens broke and father god looked down upon his son the lord jesus wanted his baptism and once in mark chapter nine at the mount of transfiguration and he said a very unbelievable phrase notice if you would matthew chapter number three and notice what the bible says in verse 17 so i'm gonna share with you and lo a voice from heaven saying this if i say this this is my beloved son in whom i'm well pleased this is my beloved son in whom i'm well pleased when he said it at the baptism that's where it stopped when he said it at the mount of transfiguration he said this is my beloved son and whom i am well pleased comma hear ye him and god teaches us three of the most unbelievable undeniable principles of why publicly both times the father said that to the lord jesus he said this is my beloved son the first thing god did was give him identification she had no idea that i was going to be using this word tonight and yet she's talking about people that have lost their identity he said this is my this is my this is my beloved son and god the father immediately identified jesus as his son and sometimes all of us in this room in one way or the other have lost our identity to something that we struggle with i've preached many times on the road and you've even heard it here about the woman with the issue for 12 years we know everything about her except her name you know why because the holy spirit was reminding us that sometimes we lose who we are by what we struggle with and i don't know who you are tonight i don't know what you're dealing with tonight and i don't know why the lord worked me over and wouldn't let me deal with these three simple principles over the last few days i had ample opportunity and god said nope not now nope not now nope not now some of you need to know that tonight your identity is not in what you're going through your identity is the fact that you're a son or a daughter of the most high king of kings and lord of lords that's your identification this is my beloved son because if you're not careful you will lose yourself to your struggle tonight some of you don't even know who you are when you look in the mirror because you thought everything was going to be wonderful and beautiful and rosy and all your bills are going to be paid and your marriage is going to rock on and now you figured out that life's a crap fest and you lost yourself you lost yourself you know men we get our identity in a job in a deed well done in a good day's work in a in a hard ministry in the fruit and labor of our hands and sweat of our brows so what happens is when a man loses his job he loses who he is a woman so often nine times out of ten gets her identity in a relationship so when she gets in a bad one she loses who she is to him and to the problem and she no longer recognizes who she is when she looks in the mirror because she has no identity because her whole identity was wrapped up in a relationship that she probably never should have gotten to begin with there's been times in my life i thought i'll never survive this there's been times in my life i'll never get through this you know what someone every time some of you pray you feel like the heavens are brass and they're just words popping out of your mouth that god's not hearing because for some of you your identity is the fact that you have filed bankruptcy and you're broke as a joke and you got a pink slip at work and you think yourself i'm never going to amount to anything for some of you your identity has been wrapped up in a divorce and you think you will never get past it let me tell you something you will not just get past it you will grow beyond it in restoration it's a beautiful thing on the other side church i said it's a beautiful thing don't lose yourself ((applause)) you see we like to have identity placed upon us and if we're not careful we will call ourselves what everybody else calls us but you will notate in the bible that god never calls you by your sin he always calls you by your name the devil won't call you by your name he always calls you by your sin he always calls you by your rebellion he always calls you by your temptation and by your struggle you see the holy spirit will never shame you the holy spirit will never guilt you but he will convict you he will convict you of your sin so that you can be less of who you are by nature and more conformed to the image of christ romans 8 28 29 the devil on the other hand he doesn't convict he blames he's the accuser of the brethren and isn't it interesting that jesus himself basked in the sunlight of god's glory twice when the heavens opened and the rays of sunshine came beaming down upon the face of the son of god and his father said this is my beloved son in one phrase he gave him identification and some of you have no identity tonight because your identity has been wrapped up in everything that has failed in your life i know pastors their ministries wrapped up in nickels and noses if they got a big crowd and a big offer they're doing great but on a small sunday oh booger let me tell you something i love everybody in this room but you are not my identity global vision bible church is my home church it's where i want to bury my heart i want to preach my final sermon in this pulpit and just drop over dead maybe when i'm 90 years old preaching let me say something my identity's not wrapped up in you my identity's not wrapped up in that tent social media has stolen many a person's identity my identity's not wrapped up in facebook and tick tock and twitter and instagram and telegram and blue check marks and thumbs up and thumbs down at the end of the day my identity is the simple fact i'm a son of the most high god i am seated with christ in heavenly places i've been accepted in the beloved and even if you don't like me jesus loves me no matter what no matter what so we could preach on these a long time but the first thing he did was he gave him identification but then notice this he said beautifully this is my beloved son in whom my son same person in whom i am well pleased now tell me there's not a child on the planet who doesn't want that from their earthly father because the second thing he gave him was affirmation he affirmed him everybody needs a that a boy that a girl every now and again ((music playing)) all of us whether you had a rock-solid godly dad or you had a beer-drinking wife-beaten buffoon of a father here's what i know about both parties both of you craved his affirmation didn't matter how crazy he was didn't matter how godly he was didn't matter if he was in church or out of church didn't matter if he was drinking kool-aid coffee or booze it didn't matter you wanted his affirmation every child wants to hear that from their parents you're my kid and you're doing a good job i'm well pleased with you he affirms us in his anointing he affirms us in our calling he affirms who we are he says look i am well pleased with you you see i had to get to a place in my life maybe not too awful long ago just within the last few years where i had to recognize the fact i will never please them enough which makes me want to please him all the more you'll never please the crowd how many of you came let's be honest how many of you came from a very strict denominational upbringing of of some type put your hand behind there you came from a strict denominational upbringing you know what i learned about performance-based christianity you'll never perform enough you can wear everything they tell you to wear and then the standards will change in six months you cannot go to the movies you cannot have netflix you cannot watch pg-13 you have to have a king james bible have your hair parted right down the middle i mean you can do all the things they tell you to do but you will never do enough because the object of man-based religion is do this and do this and do this and do this and do this and do this and maybe or maybe not will god accept you but you know as much as we like to spell our christianity d-o-d-o-d-o do this do this do this dude it's really spelled d-o-n-e it's done done done done done done you don't have to do do do do do over and over and over again the performance has already been made jesus closed the curtain it's over with case closed the dust is settled you don't have to do more to please the father jesus did what you couldn't do to please the father on your behalf and he not only gave him identification he gave him affirmation in whom i'm well pleased everybody wants to hear that i mean what congregation doesn't want their pastor to get up and say man i'm so proud of you guys man i'm just so proud of the work that you guys are putting every church wants to hear that how much more does your spouse want to hear it right look i'm tell you something i don't care what kind of crappy day i'm having it can be crazy and it's been pretty crazy last few days y'all heard what's going on on sunday right i'm like looking around every time a black suv rose up beside me i'm like oop this is it just in case they're right just kidding but nonetheless it's been a pretty wild couple of days it doesn't matter what phone calls i get it doesn't matter what death threats i get in the mail that doesn't matter what happens it doesn't matter how good how bad how indifferent doesn't matter what people say it don't matter how stressful i get it it makes no difference one tiny word of affirmation from my wife ((music playing)) makes me feel like i'm 10 foot tall and bulletproof i'm like nancy pelosi who january 6 commission what ((music playing)) none of it even matters why because we all crave affirmation we all crave something on the inside of us that wants to bring pleasure to someone else and in one moment i love you brother in one moment jesus looked up into heaven with all the people watching it happened twice and god said hey this my beloved son in whom i'm well pleased he gave him identification he gave him affirmation but then not at the baptism not here and lucas mentioned as well as in mark as i said in the transfiguration he added a little phrase that we've read all these years and we completely took it away and forget all about it he said this is my beloved son this him not another one that's him right there i've identified him his identity is what i say about him not what everybody else says about him in whom i'm well pleased i've affirmed him but then he said this one time hear ye him hear what this man has to say he not only gave him in one sentence not a verse not a paragraph a sentence of statement one statement he gave him identification he gave him affirmation and when he said hear ye him he gave him validation he put his stamp of approval on the calling in his life he said hear him this man's got something to say listen to what comes out of his mouth he's anointed he's the messiah he's the special one he's the christ he's the predicted prophesied one hear him he gave him immediate validation and some of us all three of those things are things we crave and oftentimes we get in the wrong way because we crave them so much and we don't get them correctly because we have a hard time seeing god as a perfect father because we grew up in the home of a deadbeat dad or a walk-out father or a drunk father or some abusive father and so we think to ourselves how can god be called a father when my earthly father look your earthly father and your heavenly father are not even remotely the same not even remotely the same you've got to take your lens off and see god for who he is not for who you've been taught him to be we have a forgiving father an all-accepting father a father who doesn't say i told you so a father that does not say to the prodigal give me the name of every harlot you slept with give me the name of every drug dealer you ever had business with no it was enough that the boy came home and he said kill the fatted calf put a ring on his hand shoes on his feet put a robe of sonship upon his back my son was dead he's alive again he was lost and he's found that's the father in the bible not the one that we think oh my goodness if i'm 15 minutes late he's going to take the car keys and beat the living devil out of me right your heavenly father ((music playing)) wants to place his divine stamp of approval and validation on the calling that he's put in your life i don't care people discount what god called you to do whoopee dee they didn't call you to it god did you don't have to have their approval anymore you don't have to have their thumbs up or their thumbs down god validates what he called you to do you don't have to have a giant platform millions of people following you you just have to recognize the fact that god said this is my son i'm well pleased hear what they have to say ((music playing)) there's some of you in this room tonight god's trying to give you a voice god's trying to give you a platform god's putting you through a season of elevation because he knows you can handle it you see you've been praying for a long time for god to expand you but you couldn't handle it back then but now you've grown to the capacity with which you have elasticness elasticity as they call it now now you can grow because if god would have done for you five years ago what he's doing for you now you wouldn't have had the capacity to handle it it would have hurt you not helped you it would have destroyed you not propelled you it would have been a punishment not a blessing but now god's saying to some of you here in this room tonight hear him hear her hear them i'm validating the calling of god in their life and that's all anybody ever wanted in life in it to know who they are to bring pleasure to their father and have somebody say you know what you're valuable you got value you got worth okay what color you are you got worth okay what your background is you got worth i've said it a million times all over this nation i'll say it a million more if jesus gives me breath if i hit up a 20 bill in my hand tonight and said who wants this 20 bill everybody in this room would say oh yes i'll take the 20. matter of fact i'm thinking of it right now somebody gave me a 20. praise god here it is didn't he print that one this morning in the basement praise god that's a real deal if i said you want this 20 some of y'all to fight over it's just 20 bucks right it don't have a lot of value but it's got some value but if i wad this 20 bill up if i throw it on the ground if i stomp on it i'll tell you something there's still some in this room that take it out of my hand right now i guarantee you would i could spit on it and people would take it right you can tear it you can throw it you can kick it you you can cuss it you can do anything you want to you can just rub in the dirt for 30 minutes and guess what there's still some in this room my wife that would take this 20 you know why because the tearing does not change the value the crumpling does not change the value the dirt and the spit does not change the value the wadding it up and kicking it on the ground does not change the value stomping it and stomping it and stomping it doesn't change the value it's still twenty dollars and some of you've been kicked and you've been spit on and you've been kicked and you've been spit on and you've been stomped and stomped and stomped and stung to the place that you can't sleep at night and you don't even know who you are anymore and i say you still have value tonight you still have value you still have value so maybe some of you just need to hear that phrase this is my beloved son some of you need to know that god's pleased with you ((music playing)) god loves you so stinking much you can't even imagine him some of you need a fresh baptism of the love of god just to sit and soak in his presence no matter what kind of day you had no matter what people have said about you no matter how your boss talk to you today no matter what you're going through in your marriage or the lack thereof no matter what kind of call you got or text you got or no matter what you're facing when you leave this room tonight says this is my beloved son this is my beloved daughter this is my beloved child i'm well pleased in you hear what they've got to say and everybody in this room gets a validation from god to walk out of this room and live your life to the fullest because he came to give you life more abundantly not more redundantly if serving jesus is boring you're doing it wrong you're doing it wrong and i think somebody tonight walked into this room completely shackled by the chains because if i were to ask you before we started the service hey who are you i don't know i've been told i'm this i've been told no no who does god say you are i don't care what your jerk spouse said you were hmm i don't care what your smart mouth teenager said you were i don't care what your hot-headed boss said you were i sure don't care what the trolls on twitter said you were i don't care what the left said about you or the right or the middle or the up or the down my question is what is god what does god say about you tonight and some of you just need a little identification a little affirmation and a little stamp of approval from god to say you know what you do have value tonight you're important to the kingdom there are no insignificant people that come to this church none i don't care if you got all the money or none the money ain't no insignificant people come to this house all of us have a validated calling from god and the only person that will keep you from god's blessings on you is you and tonight some of you just need to hear hey you are my beloved son you are my beloved daughter in you i'm well pleased now go out and be heard go out and speak go out and lay hands on the sick go out and pray for people at a restaurant go out and be the person that i called you to be stop trying to do all the things you've been told to do and just be what god called you to be because if you'll be right you'll do right and maybe tonight somebody just needs to hear the phrase hey i'm well pleased you're my kid you're my child and i've got your back and no matter what you face it's gonna be all right here's what i want you don't want you by your head just for a minute would your head's about eyes closed i told you you weren't gonna preach long i probably went longer in 12 minutes but it's cool i wonder how many you'd say well preacher i know exactly why monica said what she said and why the holy spirit led you not to say anything in any of them shows or in staff meeting i know why you saved it because the holy ghost drew a bull's eye on my heart hit a dead center ((music playing)) and if nobody else was ministered to tonight in the building i want you to know i was deeply ministered to and god spoke to me and if it was for no one else it was for me i can't see the folks online but i can see the folks in this room right now all over the room hold your hand up high god spoke to you tonight god spoke do you need your identity back that's what i thought that's what i thought hands everywhere dozens and dozens and dozens of hands all over the place all over the place you may put your hands down i'm going to ask you right now this wednesday night we're not in the tent we're in a packed out building we can barely move up in this place but i'm going to ask you right now sir i'm going to ask you right now ma'am i'm going to ask you right this moment member regular tender visitor whether you've been here a thousand times or this the first time you bebop through the door whether you raise your hand or not but especially if you did i can see your hand but we serve a holy sovereign god that can see unto your heart and some of you just for a couple of moments just for a couple of moments you ought to leave your seat right now we don't get a chance to do this every wednesday you got to leave your seat right now sir right now ma'am and come and get on your knees at this platform and say god tonight i raised my hand because you convicted my heart i need my identity back i've lost myself to a job i've lost myself to a struggle an addiction a temptation i've lost myself to pornography i've lost myself to pills i've lost myself to whatever it may be i've lost myself to a broken relationship i've lost myself to a lack of faithfulness to god and his word i've i've lost my identity somebody tonight you're learning who you are but you need to know that god's pleased with this journey tonight some of you need to get some affirmation from god and you get some validation some of you have been wanting to start a business some of you've been wanting to start a ministry some of you've been wanting to launch out into the deep and you think it's crazy no god's affirming you tonight the devil will never tell you to do anything that's going to help the kingdom of god never so all these dreams and goals and revelations that god's downloading into you they're not from the devil they're from the lord the lord wants glory the devil wants to keep you from doing anything that would bring him glory and tonight be affirmed be validated in what god's trying to teach you what god's trying to tell you come on all over this room all over this room you take your time tonight ((music playing)) and i'm no longer a slave to fear for i am a child of god and i'm no longer us alive to fear ((music playing)) for i am a child god no i'm no longer a slave to my past for i am a child of god and i'm no longer a slave to what's happened oh i am a child of god and i'm no longer a slave to what i've been called for i am ((music playing)) ((applause)) oh i am a child of god ((music playing)) ((music playing)) and i am surrounded ((music playing)) stand up with us we'll worship our way out tonight ((applause)) ((music playing)) yes ((music playing)) from my bondage of shame ((music playing)) we're the sons and the daughters come on let us let us sing our freedom ((applause)) ((music playing)) oh seek your freedom ((music playing)) ((music playing)) the sea so i could walk right through it ((applause)) my fears ((music playing)) ((applause)) ((music playing)) yes i am ((music playing)) ((applause)) ((music playing)) obviously ((music playing)) i am a hallelujah lord as we all leave just bless us all lord continue to guide us and shape us and to the godly folks you would have us be lord we thankful for the word that pastor greg brought lord we
