for joining us here online and hen house thank you so much for coming we do have some announcements before we begin our first announcement is um our 6 a.m bible study tomorrow morning with pastor greg at courtney's don't be late you got to be there it's it's a good time and guys there is no iron man tomorrow we're having a town meet hall meeting here and so no iron man tomorrow come here instead something that i'm super stoked about is my mom's women's ministry that just started last week she is having um her bible studies every tuesday night now it starts at 7 p.m and it's in the chapel it was a great time i promise if you are a woman you do not want to miss it marriage matters seminar coming up november 6th it's going to be awesome we still have some room we're capping it off at 100 people so if you haven't signed up do not hesitate that's a november 6th it's called nine lives that will destroy your marriage it's gonna be awesome it's gonna be catered there will be child care and see suzanne and i if you're here in the tent today and get one of these flyers has all the information on it our young adult is having a big event this saturday we're gonna go to a pumpkin patch um and then we're gonna go back and we're gonna paint pumpkins we're gonna have food and fellowship and then that night we are gonna have a bonfire and testimony night so if you're ages 18 to 25 and want to get plugged in please come see me or my husband on the front row and get involved with that all right i have another awesome announcement on november 13th we are having a global vision fall family festival it's going to be awesome it's going to be from 1 to 4 p.m um it's going to be hosted by the gv kids there's going to be food trucks there's going to be inflatables there's going to be fun and games for the whole family you don't want to miss it it's a good time to hang out and fellowship we need volunteers today um we have to push all of the chairs that are up front behind the poles so if we could have some people stay over afterwards that would be amazing to help us out again just all the front rows right here we just need the chairs pushed behind the poles so if you could stay for that that would be awesome also if you are wanting to volunteer in the church go to the back table back there my left your right and get plugged in it's awesome to be plugged into a great community so get plugged in there most importantly we need parking ministry help for our town hall event tomorrow night yes if you can help with parking please be here tomorrow by 4 30 p.m so we can get the help for it yes but i'm sure it's going to be a big big crowd and so pastor greg is probably going to talk about that a little bit later but we need all the help we can get yeah all right youth ministry youth will meet for worship night tonight at 4 pm to 6 pm on campus and for next sunday please get with jesse and let him know what you can bring for the fall fellowship which will be held at the the last couple weeks the warfare in our lives have been unbelievable but i'm here this morning to tell you church that there is absolutely nothing nothing that we cannot pray our way through that we cannot praise our way through and when you're in the battle and you're up against the red sea and you just need god depart the red sea so you can walk through on dry ground you just lift up the name of jesus in your life you lift up the name of jesus in your home you sing praises unto your god and you praise your way to your breakthrough because there is no power that is more powerful than the blood of the lord jesus christ if you believe that this morning say amen so this what we're going to do we're going to go back into that song because i have a feeling in my spirit this morning that some of you came here because you need your soul awakened today you need to feel the presence of the almighty one who sits on the throne room of heaven and so we're gonna sing praises this morning until we feel our breakthrough amen ((music playing)) my soul his pace ((music playing)) the bible says the rocks will cry out i don't know about you but the rocks are not going to take our praise the old time days and i'm just honored to host each and every one of you and so glad every single week to just see who the lord sends our way it's always a blessing to have so many visitors we'll talk about that here in just a moment we'll have some of you out of staters in the out of town or bring it up here a little bit guys some of the out-of-staters and out-of-towners we'll have you stand in a moment so we can honor you and i know we always like to do this but everybody that's under the tent right now make sure our online crowd knows we love them welcome them under the tent this morning by the tens of thousands we love you guys thank you for being a part thank you for your prayers for your online attendance it seems like everywhere i go people ask hey are we allowed to put up a sheet or a screen or a big screen or something in our living room or garage you know the back of our barn somewhere and to have a little a mini satellite campus i said absolutely amen the gospel works everywhere so we're trying to figure out how we can better tap into all the people that are so faithful online and so it's just amazing to me how many people around the world watch what god is doing under the old canvas cathedral i mean it humbling it's beautiful to watch it's beautiful to experience and it's beautiful to see how god is changing so many lives i'm already amped up in a few minutes to preach because i've already got to preach one time at the opera land hotel this morning for a big conference amen and so we opened church there to about 2 000 people at the uh the cancer awareness conference with the bollingers of course miss bollinger will be those tomorrow night for our town hall and so i've already already had a chance to ra rob bishkumba and route of the troops for jesus this morning and uh so that was a beautiful time so i apologize for not being able to have our first of our two meet and greets every single week but it was just difficult getting back across town and getting in here on time and all of that but i promise you we'll stay around as long as we need to so that we can shake hands and hug folks and meet all of our guests and all of our visitors if you are here today whether you've been here for a service before but you are specifically here today for this service to see what god has for you and your family and you are not i repeat not from the great state of tennessee we would love for you to be but if you are not from the great state of tennessee and you are here for this service today we would love to honor you for your presence would you stand up all over the 10th if you are not from tennessee stand up all over the tent look at that look at it give yourself a hand amen in that beautiful i love it thanks be unto god which give us the victory you may be seated thank you so much for being here i do have one very important announcement all right i know you got a lot of announcement this morning from our dynamic duo doing the announcements and i enjoy that but here's one thing that you have got to remember and i can promise you uh it it'll it'll mess a few of you up but you might have to change some things around for your schedule a little bit all right real america's voice did not realize that we were not on eastern time and so everything that we put out they just assumed the six to eight was an eastern situation but it's not so the town hall tomorrow night is not from six to eight unless revival breaks out we'll go to 10. it is going to be from five to seven all right so you have to get here a little bit earlier than normal and if you have to come late then still come late but they have a lot of news shows because they're the ones going to be running this live really around the world and so we can't bump all of them some of their new shows went ahead and relented a little bit and allowed us to get into that space so we could have those uh two hours tomorrow night and so it's gonna be from five to seven so get off a little bit early blame the pastor it's cool let's fill the tent up i know we have some people that are staying over a lot of folks in the area that are going to be coming in but you are not going to want to miss it so again it's not six to eight that's the eastern time it's five to seven tomorrow night i'll be speaking charlene bollinger will be speaking and pastor mark burns will be speaking and our dear friend roger stone is going to be under the tent tomorrow night amen i love raj and uh he has become one of my my dear friends we got the the documentary film crew will be back because they want to kind of see our our relationship they said what is it like to be around roger stone i said well i've kind of become a pastor to him and he's kind of become a granddad to me and so it's kind of cool he told me this morning he said you're dressing dapper pastor you're starting to catch up to roger stone you're starting to look good and uh so he'll be here tomorrow night so don't miss out on that it is going to be an absolutely stupendous time god is going to bless us in a marvelous way so again five to seven sorry for that little hitch in the giddyup but it's still gonna be a good time and we're still gonna have a wonderful wonderful opportunity to get the message on rescuing this nation from the grips of communism amen how do you believe we still need to stand up for this nation i know it's a church tent but the church is gonna have to stand up amen the church is gonna have to push back and the church is gonna have to recognize the fact that if we lay down on the job we are the first line of defense and it all begins with the pillar and ground of the truth and if we fold this nation is in a mess because you better know something america did not start the church the church started america there is no doubt the church started america and so i want you to be here tonight from five to seven o'clock even if you have to come late then we want you to come late but we're gonna pray right now and we're gonna ask the lord to bless our giving i want you to be faithful in your time of giving we have a lot of things coming up as far as our big 15-year anniversary on november the 7th that is going to be beautiful we have a massive offering that we want to give to that day you know really a lot of what the lord has done for our church in the area of generosity and finances the spigot was turned on we've always given deeply we've always given generously we've always given extravagantly but last year maybe even a little more than a year ago when all the kova debacle and everything was happening the lord led us to give at that time one of the largest offerings that we had ever given to the nation of israel and how many of you know that god said plainly i will bless them that bless israel and i will curse them that curse israel so this year i want you to bend the fast i want you to begin to prepare your heart and your your giving resources i want you to pray and i want you to seek the lord because on november the 7th not not today today's our regular ties and offerings and we have a lot to do and a lot of people to help and i want you to give and dig deep today and you're always very very benevolent with with god's work and you know you know in a month's time i promise you without hesitation without exaggeration we give more money away to others in one month's time than we spend or keep for ourselves we just we don't believe in just sitting around with a lot of money in the bank we believe investing in people's lives investing in the kingdom investing in missionaries and single moms and the homeless and those that are hurting and those that need to start churches in various we do a lot of giving but on november the 7th i want you to pray because that day our entire weekend offering is going to go to the nation of israel and we're going to we're going to bless radiant israel and uh gilad stand up our dear brother gillard is here from israel man we love brother gillard rossinger he's become such a dear friend one of my top friends on the planet i love him so much and and so we're going to bless their ministry man they help so many people in israel they have so much going on in the media world the gospels being preached to hundreds of thousands and they work with people over there that are just in need of all different things holocaust survivors people that are hungry people that are beat down a lot of persecution a lot of evil nonsense going on right now in the land of israel and this man of god and his team and his family have stood against that tyranny and stood against that darkness and they have watched god abundantly favor them and bless them and i want us on november the 7th to give the largest offering that global vision has not only ever given i want the largest offering we've ever taken to go to the nation of israel amen and we're going to bless them and i'm telling you god's going to bless our socks off because of that because you can't out give the lord but when you give to the things that god's heart is involved in i'm telling you he'll turn to speak it on and so in november of the seventh we're going to give towards that and also i don't want you to miss out i don't do this a whole lot but i knew it was of the lord and i messaged him yesterday make sure it's okay uh i'll say some things we're going to have our prayer meeting on wednesday night let's pack the house out we still got our midweek service the town hall's not going to take place of that we still want our our church revival atmosphere and i'll say some things whatever the lord lays on my heart we'll have our prayer time and our cards and all of that but on wednesday night i want you to get back because the lord has laid a word on god and i'm going to let god preach to us on wednesday night unto this tenth all the way from the nation of israel so i do not want you to miss out on that it's going to be a beautiful thing a beautiful thing well let's pray and ask the lord to release us in a spirit of generosity and we'll continue to give and we'll continue to worship father we thank you for the lord jesus we thank you that we have the privilege in this tent right now the lord sit before you stand before you worship before you in your presence and now lord we have the privilege to worship by giving so in-house and online i pray that you would release us in a massive spirit of generosity sacrifice benevolence so often we hear people say oh let's just give till it hurts the american church knows nothing about give until it hurts we're spoiled rot and we have so much but lord we want to give into your kingdom we want to sow into the lives of others we want to bless a lot of people today and tomorrow and throughout this week and so lord you know who they are even the ones that we don't know anything about that will come our way that need a blessing i pray father that you would help us today to give we know that there's campus obligations and bills that we have to pay but lord you're always so very faithful to take care of every need that we have exceedingly abundantly above all we could ever ask or think simply because we give first to the work of god so today we bring our first fruits and we ask that you would honor them you would break them you had blessed them may they be distributed to the multitudes like the loaves and the fish so father bless the continuation of our giving our prayer time our worship our teaching may everything today on this campus so honor and glorify you that you would be pleased to dwell amongst us may we not leave the same people and we'll thank you for it in jesus name and all of god's people said amen god bless you as you give ((music and listen unless you be like greg locke and ladylock and you roll up your sleeves and just simply say i don't care if they drag my name in the mud because i don't answer to you i answer to god ark of the covenant and and where all you know the sad part about church today is this and uh i step on a lot of pastor's toes all over the country pastor greg i don't know what state we're in and he's right we traveled all over the country i ran into my brother and sister all the time and i don't know what state or event were we in but has one white pastor he's a prominent white pastor and he looked at me he said you know according to this critical race theory you know i wish we could say the things that you say and about punched him in the chest did i not i said i said that's the problem we got too many weak white preachers of the gospel who are bowing themselves down to bowser ((applause)) they're bowing themselves down to the evil of this world so they don't hurt nobody's feelings i looked that white pastor in the face and i said the devil is a liar god gave you the authority to tread over serpents to tread over demons to try the satan in the face and keep them out of your life the devil is a liar you better open up your mouth man of god one man of god despite the color of your skin your power comes from jesus ((applause)) this is what i mean pastor greg you got to get me off the stage i got to get out of here i got to go i got to go i'm just tired and i'm talking to my white brothers and sisters in this room who gives a rat's butt if they call you a racist the devil lot's going to keep preaching this man of god reminds me of john the baptist i just love this man this woman of god they blessed me so much this one real she matter of fact i i've been preaching so much coming into the hotel my both my calf muscles cramped up day before yesterday and it was i don't know if that happened to you you skinny so i don't know if that happens to you kristen i don't know if that happens to skinny people i don't cindy i don't know y'all but but for big people like me that happens all the time and so i'm stuffing bananas in my mouth and trying to get salt in my body and you know and then preached all over the world and and you know and then and then you know late late ladylock gave me some some potion somebody i know what i'm talking about what do we call it we call it harry potter harry potter potion she gave me some harry potter potion i don't know that moonshine is that what it is that tennessee moonshine ((applause)) is that what it is she said no they that's an awesome tennessee something special in the water here in tennessee i don't know i put that stuff in my calf muscles lord i felt i could start running i don't know what was in that stuff these are very dear people to me i love them so much and when they come under attack i come under attack so that's how you know where your real friends are when you attack my friend you attack me global is that the kind of support y'all give your pastor up in here that when you attack the lock family you attack us when you say stuff about the lock family you say things about us and you bet not come up here global bible anytime i try to act crazy we will send you to jesus and then pray later that you knew him ((applause)) the problem is and i'm going to go i got to go i got to get off the stage the problem is the problem is we don't need no more skinny jeans fake preachers who were afraid to open up their mouths they got to stand on the word of god cindy they got to stand on the word of god they have to stand on the word of god and it's okay to wear skinny jeans i'ma wear when i get skinny ((applause)) i'm trying you got some potion for that precious you got some potion for that she said pastor mark stay away from pork chops that's what you need to do the problem is when i come to churches like this all you want to feed me is fried pork chops like what i'm gonna do fried chicken what i'm gonna do what i'm gonna do there's an anointing over this place that's shaking the whole foundations of this country i feel it's so strong ((applause)) god has anointed this man and this woman of god to spread the gospel around the globe i i knew when y'all named the church global you knew it was going to go global because you're impacted people are talking about y'all all over the country and i'm just so happy i'm honored enough to finally get to make it here i have to talk to four of his assistants to get to him that's how important he is when i i i told him when i was you know because most people know me uh as the guy that slapped president trump on the back and i'm gonna tell you he's coming back in 2024. i want y'all to know that right now coming back pastor greg locke is going to be part of that machine to make sure he's come back in 2024 global you're going to be part of that machine to make sure president donald j trump come back in 2024 do president trump got your support global we need to let relate any republican who is even thinking about running in the primary that we're going to make sure that donald j trump is the only person we're going to vote for to be the nominee for president of the united states of america ((applause)) because they stole it from him the first time do you believe that locke and his wonderful wife this whole church is transforming how pastors stand up when you see this man and this woman of god preach the gospel the way he preaches it all over the country and his wonderful wife where she goes because last time her i actually i said are you still moving furniture that's what i asked her that's the inside joke y'all don't know about it you got to stop moving furniture let the man come in without tripping upstairs but you guys you got to understand every time you show up every time you give every time you pray every time you fast every time you call on the name of the lord jesus every time you call on pastor greg's lord's name and his family's name and you covered them in the name of jesus christ because satan hates this church and he hates every single person that attends this place because i can guarantee you pastor greg your people don't just shout here in church ((music playing)) i don't y'all be shouting at the bank y'all be shouting at the school board meeting ((applause)) y'all be shouting at home you'll be shouting driving in the car ((applause)) people look at you crazy you say listen baby the joy i got the world didn't give it to me and the world can't take it away ((applause)) so brothers and sisters to cover this man and this woman of god that they they're not trying to be famous and i tell you i see this brother preach i'ma tell you i saw him preach and this is my story and i'ma sit down because i tell this everywhere i don't ever want to preach after greg locke ever that's two people i don't want to preach preach after one is my daddy that man can preach even to this day i don't know about you but even to this day when i preach around mom and dad it took me years to be able to just preach without studying over my words i couldn't even read the bible right because i know he's over there watching me son you be careful son you're doing this you're doing that wrong you're doing it so when people see me preaching and they give me and they say man you can preach that that's because daddy been pre daddy been preaching you know my whole life and and i don't know how your got received training but i being a pulpit i was a kid preaching the gospel and that'd be behind my back saying son you don't say that again son you're repeating yourself don't don't repeat yourself son slow down slow down slow down and i'm preaching i'm shouting he'll tell him my robe said that's enough come on bring it home so when people see me teach and talk and preach it's because daddy's been doing it so i can't preach i can't preach you know i can't preach after daddy and i can't preach after greg locke i just can't do it and everywhere i go if i'm honest if we're on the same stage i say y'all people better put me first i'm walking out of here if you have me coming last i'm not preaching we said we was at mar we was at uh amp fest some somewhere we was uh jesus we were somewhere in florida we were somewhere miami thank you and and and and i didn't know who greg black was i didn't she said i know now mom that's when my fight you tell that coming shoot she said you gonna know now say something else so that's what she said see mama said say something else say something else who's in miami and uh pastor greg was supposed to go last and then they switched us at the last moment they wanted me to go last and so he went on stage sarah huckabee sanders i'll be the king some great warriors were all there uh christian roger stone all of you guys were just saying to you all there and uh greg lot gets up and just messes up the place ((applause)) i mean you had you had you had presbyterian starting speaking in tongues i don't like ((applause)) about to start jumping on top of chairs and running i'm like yeah catholics who caught the holy spirit i'm like what in the world and then he just dropped the mic walks off stage and i said oh my jesus lord i got to that don't normally happen to me when i got on stage i had nothing else to say i said jesus is our thank you pastor mark i love you brother i appreciate you very very much and i know our people do and i know the online crowd does and boy right wing watch is going to be burning up this afternoon there's no doubt about that wow but that's okay i didn't want him to be this close and you not be exposed to his his fire his faith his fervency his faithfulness to the gospel his faithfulness to what the lord's doing in this nation and i appreciate him so very much and i do appreciate his family being with us his parents love them get to see them all over the country when we travel as well well this morning just before i pray i want you to open your bibles to the book of joshua the fifth chapter for just a little bit joshua chapter five is where we're going to be and the lord just really downloaded a few verses in my heart we'll begin in verse nine in just a moment and expositionally make our way down through the text and just really chit-chat with you about some things that are on my heart and my heart's been full lately about some some things that god's been growing me in and many of you know that uh the last couple of years not just our church has grown but your pastor has grown and and i've really come in to kind of come into my own of where i have been and some things that i used to doubt some things i used to deny and some things that i were taught to to look against and scrutinize and be critical and judgmental of in the scriptures i began to watch god do in the context of my marriage and my life and the ministry and when i travel and here in our church and just begin to see people getting healed and god just setting people free and all of a sudden a lot of the things that i began to grow up with didn't make sense anymore because i was taught to view the bible through a corrupted lens if you will i don't demonize my past i don't demonize my schooling i don't demonize the men of god and women of god that made me who i was and gave me a heart for the bible and i loved to stand and just for the for the fundamental truths of the bible but i want you to understand that that i'm not the same individual the last few years that i have been because god's downloaded some things in me that i can't deny and they do not go in any way against the scriptures but when you got the word of god and the spirit of god telling you the same thing you got to change gears sometimes and do what god tells you to do right and the fear of man brings a snare and for so long in our church we were bound by the the fear of man we were bound by the fear of the media because they we knew that they were going to harass us and now we've got to a place where we say to god be the glory great things he have done controversy has really built the platform and so we might as well just step right into it because at the end of the day god is going to favor those of us that stand having done all to stand because the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through god to the pulling down of strongholds casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of god and how do you know there's a lot of stuff exalting itself against god's glory and god's gospel in this day and we've got to stand against it so i have a few things on my heart from a very unusual passage some weeks ago we preached about the walls of jericho falling down but i need to back up in the narrative and tell you something that happened before that and so we're going to pray and then jump for just a few moments into joshua the fifth chapter father today we thank you for the excitement and the seal under this tent we thank you for pastor burns and for his parents lord i pray you'd bless them lord bless the continuation of the conference across town that will close out tonight all the speakers today we'll bless our town hall gathering tomorrow night but lord right now as we look into the word of god i pray that we indeed would approach it as such this is not the ideas of man it's the word of god the authoritative book that we call the bible that is life transforming so i pray that you would get glory you would get honor i pray as the gospel is preached that people's hearts would be softened to their need of repentance and trust in the lord jesus christ lord in this house and online captivate our spirits i pray that you would do exceedingly abundantly above all we could ever ask or think and when we walk out may we refuse to be the same individuals we were when we walked under this tent so father bless the word to our hearts we pray in jesus name and all of god's people said in joshua chapter five you have a man that is a young leader that has just been raised up by the spirit of god to literally lead the people of god into the promised land after 40 plus years of meandering in the wilderness i must remind you the hebrew said they entered not in because of unbelief it wasn't because of a lack of resources or a lack of education it wasn't because they didn't know where they were going no the bible says for 40 years they wandered around in the doldrums of the wilderness because they didn't believe god and that's why the bible says in hebrews 11 6 without faith it is impossible to believe god for him that cometh to god must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him romans 10 17 so then faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of god you will wander the whole of your life if you believe what everybody else says but you refuse to believe what god says in his word and for 40 years they wandered and finally god said i'm going to not let moses i'm going to allow joshua to lead the people of god across the muddy jordan river into the land of gilgal into the promised land a land that flows with milk and honey but here was the problem and then i'll read the text when they got there the younger generation had arisen the older generation died off as god prophetically said was going to happen and the problem with the younger generation is that when they got there they disrespected the land because they didn't fight any battles to get there and that's where we are right now in the united states of america people do not appreciate what we have because they didn't lose the limb to get it they didn't lose a family member to get it and because they never stood and because they never fought and because they'd never been in the trenches they disrespect what we have right now and if you don't fight for something you will not be willing to salvage that something of my making sense church so few people in this generation understand that's why this millennial crowd says what we want is socialism which is nothing more than political atheism is all that you can't have god and socialism cbs was here last week and they said well don't you believe jesus was a socialist i said absolutely not everything socialism touched gets worse everything jesus touched got better amen jesus never touched the dead corpse and kept it dead he never touched a blinded eye and kept it blind he never touched a hungry soul and kept them hungry what jesus touches gets better not worse but this generation wants that this generation wants free education and free health care and you better know nothing's free it costs somebody something so these people disrespected the promised land because they're not the ones that fought the battle to get there so joshua is now there the people have switched from manna to staple food as we will see but joshua's in a conundrum he doesn't know what to do next he's looking at the 60-foot high walls of the city of jericho and wondering what in the world is god going to do now and he's at a moment he's at a crossroads of his faith where he has to figure out are we going to do the unthinkable or we're just going to sit back and do nothing so watch what happens if you would the bible says in joshua chapter 5 we'll pick up the reading in verse number 9 you'll see it on the screens and the lord said unto joshua this day have i rolled away the reproach of egypt from off you let me just stop and say that's a beautiful verse right there after 430 years of egyptian slavery after all that bondage and then 40 years of wandering around in the wilderness they walked through the red sea i mean it parted hither and this are like two elevator doors in a hospital complex and the bible says that when the enemies of god tried to follow them guess what god drowned all of them here's why that's beautiful the same miracle that salvaged and saved the israelites was the same miracle that destroyed the people that were trying to come against them and when they got through the other side exodus 15 and verse 1 the bible says for 34 verses then saying moses and the children of israel this song unto the lord he hath thrown the horse and the rider into the sea and so for forty years they lived off the abundant blessings of god and now he's going to say i've taken all the reproach all the past and i've rolled it off of you it's not the intention of my message but there is a reason the apostle paul said forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forth under those things which are before some of you will never embrace what god has for you moving forward because you keep looking backwards all the time it doesn't matter how sickly you've been it doesn't matter how diseased you've been it doesn't matter that you went through a divorce it doesn't matter that you're a crackhead it doesn't matter what they say about you you hear me and you hear me well you gotta put your past where it belongs that is the reason why your front shield windshield is bigger than your rear view mirror stop driving backwards stop looking backwards god's taking you forward he's taking you forward he's taking you forward quit getting in reverse gear and looking behind you god's got better things ahead of you if you get over what happened to you stop playing the victim and start being the victor in jesus christ i'm not fighting for victory i'm fighting from a victory that jesus already secured at the cross and the empty tomb and he said i've rolled off the reproach of egypt from all of you wherefore the name of the place is called gilgal that was the first place the soul of their feet would touch unto this day verse 10 and the children of israel encamped in gilgal and kept the passover on the 14th day of the month at even in the plains of jericho so here they are this looming city about them now i love this and they did eat of the old corn of the land on the morrow after the passover unleavened cakes parts corn the self same day and the manna say manna and the man a ceased on the morrow after they had eaten of the old corn of the land neither had the children of israel manna any more but they did eat of the fruit of the land of canaan that year now we're going to jump into verse 13 because that's where we're at so if you time preachers let me get through this verse then you can start timing okay listen i find it beautiful that for 40 years god gave them something called manna the word man literally means what is this what is this little honey cake what is this little honey wafer but what what is this little dunkin donuts what is this they had no idea but it was a miracle from god and every day they would gather it up and before the sabbath they would gather up twice as much so that they would not work on the sabbath as god had said and god gave it to him for 40 years they had fried man a scrambled man a raw man a baked manna every type of manner of manna that you can imagine and after 40 years god moves them into the promised land and says now i'm going to take the man away i'm going to give you something different so let me just say this because i think this needs to get in somebody's spirit and in somebody's heart what fed you then and go feed you now you got to grow in the good grace of the knowledge of the gospel of jesus christ you can't just read a little bit of bible you've got to go into more bible you can't just fast one time a year you better fast one time a week you can't just double lay me down to sleep you've got to eat some more somebody say amen and the malnourished church in america is the reason we have so many cowardly individuals that will not stand up and stand out because all we have done is eat the same food year after year after year and god said it's time to grow and get you a bigger diet get you a bigger diet so he took away the manna but it did not take away the anxiety of joshua notice what happens in verse 13 this is when things get amazingly real and it came to pass and thank god it always does it never comes to stick around it always comes to pass when joshua was by jericho there's the town circle that that he lifted up his eyes and he looked and behold there's stood a man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand that will pick up the narrative here in just a moment joshua has a great moment of anxiety and a lot of non-stillness in his spirit he doesn't know what to do he's looking at 60-foot tall walls surrounding and encompassing a city that is great a city that he knew god had handed them as we see in chapter six and chapter seven we preached on that a month or so ago but he wasn't sure the details of how it was going to happen and many times people say well you know pastor i just want to know what does god want me to do specifically he'll never tell you until you surrender generally and you're willing to do whatever he wants you've got to get to a place where you say where you lead me i will follow what you feed me i will swallow i'll go where you want me to go i'll do what you want me to do whatever it is and when you get to a place where you will do anything god will show you exactly what you're supposed to do as far as the next step is concerned and in this moment of desperation he's looking at the walls of jericho and the bible says that the captain of the lord's host an old testament appearing of the lord jesus christ because if you think jesus just showed up in a manger you need to read a bible ladies and gentlemen you need to read a bible jesus was the lamb slain before the foundation of the world and in john 1 1 the bible said in the beginning there was god and god was the word and that's the lord jesus christ and the living word and the written word will never contradict each other people say well you know i know what the bible says but oh no when it comes to the bible you keep your butt out of it right jesus and the bible will never contradict each other and so here in this context he sees this captain the lord's host and the bible says that this angelic being has a drawn sword in his hand an individual that in just a moment is going by the way to receive worship so we know that he's not just a mere angel because the angels would always say get up get up don't worship me you worship god in all of his glory but this angelic being if you will this christophany this old testament appearing the lord of hosts the captain of god's army he stands with a drawn sword and he's going to give some direction to a man that needs to fight and when i read that i find it interesting that everybody is angry at people like us in this church and people like pastor mark and people that are downtown today at this conference and they're angry at preachers that are willing to stand up and we write books called this means war not how to win friends and influence people but i will remind you this was god almighty himself that drew the sword and even jesus said when i come i come to bring a sword there'll be a day that the peace which passes all understanding shall flood but in this day when they shall cry peace and safety then sudden destruction shall come upon them and we are living in days of division and we are living in days when god's thinned out the ranks and he's raised up an army and people are afraid of that terminology people in the media world say are you trying to incite violence no i'm trying to get christians to stand up and push back against the evil that we see in this culture that's what i'm trying to do and the bible says that the captain of the lord's host came with his sword drawn but it's interesting what happens next and joshua went unto him and he said unto him art thou for us or for our adversaries now that's a good question i believe it's the first one i would have asked i've been like oh look at this big strap and do these go biceps and a great big old flaming sword are you for us are you against this are you on their team or our team which uh flip of the nickel are you on for the super bowl i'd like to know right it's interesting that he says whose side are you on you better understand what happens next god never comes to take sides he comes to take over he is king of kings and lord of lords and you can declare him lord now because you want to or you can declare him lord in the day of judgment because you have to but make no mistake jesus is lord he is lord and in this context he didn't just come to give a few instructions god came to side with those that were right you see god's always on the side of holiness he's always on the side of victory he's always on the side of separation he's always on the side of righteousness he's always on the side of the word of god and so naturally we would ask i would ask at least the same thing joshua did well whose side are you on you you're pretty uh nemesis you're pretty big and so uh lickety-split you could kill all of us whose side are you on and god's going to say look i'm on the side of right you know the other day when the cbs documentary dropped they're always very quick to take our sound bites out of context and make us sound like insurrectionists which is nonsense listen they have denied the reality of redneckism in america if we wanted an insurrection we could have one any day of the week i can promise you that they don't even know what an insurrection is we ain't had no stupid insurrection that is nonsense but what they tried to do some of you saw it right and it was a decent piece they let us in decently well but what they tried to do is take our church and my stance and pit us against all the other churches that just don't happen to stand that way and what they did is they interviewed more of them than they did of us to make us look like the crazies where plainly in the interview i told them i'm just willing to look crazy it's kind of hard to make a guy look crazy that doesn't mind looking crazy right but i kept noticing those parts that they would rile their fan base up or they talk about war they talk about weapons well first of all we talk from a biblical perspective because god talks a lot about war and weapons in the bible right this is a spiritual battle we fight not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers and spiritual wickedness in high places and if you don't believe that you don't believe a symbol for the bible right so they always want to talk about fight fight fight why do you use that terminology well how come when you go to a basketball game you say fight fight fight and nobody says you're an insurrectionist right when you go to the super bowl and somebody stands up on the opposing side and says fight fight fight nobody calls nancy pelosi and put you on a terrorist watch list how do they but we come to church and we say stand up and fight fight fight oh my goodness then people are jim jones kool-aid drinking crazies did you hear what he let that black pastor say on his pulpit i can't wait to read it in the morning it's going to be fun i'm going to get my bible and the newspaper so i can figure out what both sides believe about this whole deal right man it's going to be fun but i'm just saying this man knew he was about to go to battle he said hey are you for us or are you against us but i want you to watch what happens next in the response he says in verse 14 and he said nay but is captain of the host of the lord that's all caps right there captain of the host of jehovah am i now come meaning by that i'm not here just to get involved in a little squirmish i'm here to vindicate righteousness i'm here from god's dispatching you know there comes a time in your life that you have to make a choice jesus said if you're not for me you're against me joshua will grow into his leadership capabilities towards the end of the book and in chapter 24 verse 15 he will say and i quote choose you this day whom you will serve but as for me in my house we will serve the lord notice what he did not say he did not say choose you this day to be a servant oh no you're born one of them you do not get the luxury of choosing to be a servant you only get the luxury of choosing who your master is going to be and he said you better make up your mind even moses took a hickory stick drew a line in the sand and said who is on the lord's side elijah said how long caught you between two opinions james 1 8 a double-minded man a schizophrenic individually spiritually that can't make up their mind is unstable in all of his ways he's unstable to himself and everybody comes in contact with make up your mind you're on one side or the other they say well you know you're just so polarizing exactly we have to be polarizing how can we yoke up with evil and expect god to bless us how can we yoke up with something that is contrary to the scriptures and expect god to favor and to bless us it just doesn't work that way you have got to choose sides you better choose wisely by the way the choices of the sides aren't republican and democrat as far as i'm concerned they're two heads of the same snake my loyalties to the kingdom of god ladies and gentlemen the choice is you're going to serve his kingdom or you're going to preserve your kingdom and most people want to preserve their kingdom therefore they won't step out in boldness and do anything they can to fight for his kingdom but like he said the violence take it by force it's time we stand up and say you know what the most powerful organization on the planet is not the bank of america it's the church of the lord jesus christ it's not the white house it is god's house it is the pillar and the ground of the truth and jesus said the gates of hell the gates of hell the gates of hell shall not prevail against the church and if the gates of hell aren't going to prevail you better know this culture is not going to win it's just not it's just not and so he said i'm here on dispatch from heaven i'm here for what's right now watch this this is beautiful and joshua fell on his face to the earth and he did what worship and he said unto him what saith my lord unto his servant now i think this is great because before the battle he had to be positioned differently he didn't say i'm going to hand you this sword and you go in guns blazing and go crazy now he got to eventually but the bible says that he fell in his face and he worshipped and he said to the captain what saith my lord unto his servant which gives us the reverberation and the understanding in his voice he's saying look i will do whatever you tell me to do and he sat there and he worshipped and the problem is we don't understand the importance of warfare because we lack an understanding of real worship worship is our warfare do you recognize the fact that when we sing songs about the blood of jesus devils still flee when we sing them songs people are still healed lives are still redeemed baptism of waters are still celebrated there's still something about corporate worship that shakes the very foundation of the earth remember paul in silas the bible says at midnight they prayed and sang praises unto god and the prisoners heard them well somebody else heard them too because god shook the whole place and jailhouse rock was long time around for elvis was ever born in memphis tennessee right he shook the jailhouse remember when korah came against moses the bible says the people sang unto god and the earth opened up and swallowed them up and they went alive down into the pit all the way back to our flannel graph days people say well you know there's only two people that ever left the earth without dying elijah and enoch no about 400 of them went straight to hell without dying what the bible says god opened the earth and sucked them all down into it but there's something about worship that releases the power of god into the atmosphere of your problem of your disease of your disgruntled marriage of a fragmented nation of a divided church there's something about personal private and corporate worship that puts us in a position to ask the question now what do you want me to do you see often we just jump right for the answers what do you want me to do no no you've got to be in the right position to know what god wants you to do that's why the bible says in second chronicles 7 14 if my people not those people not them people not that no if my people which are called by my name shall humble themselves notice he puts humility first you know why because you won't pray you won't seek god's face and you won't turn from your wicked way if you're arrogant because only by pride comes contention proverbs 13 10 proverbs 16 18 pride goes before destruction a holy spirit before fall and the bible says god resisted the proud but gives grace to the humble he stands against you in your arrogance and self-righteousness and worship puts us in a position to receive what comes next because what comes next is pretty amazing we know the totality and the conclusion of what happens in jericho but even before that notice as he has this encounter with the lord verse 15 and the captain of the lord's host said unto joshua watch this words in the bible mean something so do not miss this loose thy shoe notice that is not plural that is singular from off thy foot that is not plural that is singular why for the place the position where you're at where on thou standest is what's the next word holy he said you're in god's presence this is a holy spot you want to know what to do next i'm going to tell you what to do next you want to get your worship right here's what you do and i must remind you in isaiah chapter 6 and verse 1 it says in the year the king uzziah died i saw also the lord high and lifted up in his train filled the temple above it stood the seraphims each one having six wings which when he covered his face with twenty covert his feet and which twain it did fly and one cried instead of the other holy holy holy is the lord god of host the whole earth is full of his glory and the post moved at the voice of him that spake and the house was filled with smoke then said i woe is me from a man of unclean lips and i don't in the midst of a people of unclean lips for my eyes i've seen the lord god in all of his glory and you will never say woe is me until you first acknowledge holy is he holy is the lord god of host and that'll bring you to a place of humility but do you notice what the angels what the created beings around the emerald encrusted throne of god did these beasts had six wings with one set they covered their face in worship with another set they covered their feet in humility and worship and with one set they did fly that's three sets six wings you tracking with me two sets of wings were for the purpose of worship and only one set of wings was for the purpose of work and in the american church which is far too american and not enough church we have over emphasized the work and not the worship because your worship should be twice as much as your word the reason you get burnt out and the reason you go up like a rocket and come down like a meteorite the reason you can't sleep at night and you got basketball-sized officers is cause you trying to work work work work work and what you better do is rewind it and you better worship worship worship worship worship because when you get in a position of worship your work will be better do you believe that church your work will be better for christ it's not about what you do it's about who you are and if you are right you will do right so here he is what do i do next the captain said here's what you do take off your shoe from your foot ((music playing)) not your shoes from your feet take off your shoe from your foot because where you are is holy you see he needed to know what to do so here's what god was going to use to tell him you ever notice there's some strange stuff in the bible like weird stuff we never even preach on because it like freaks us out too much mean it's in the bible right people like when are you going to do a series on the book of leviticus like during the millennial kingdom will be the only time probably i ever do that because there's a lot of stuff in there i don't get right but did you ever notice that there are some i guess traditions and some strange customs that people in the bible did things that we can't relate to well why don't you say pull your shoe off of your foot not your shoes off of your feet do you remember in ezra a couple of old testament books when a man would enter into a contractual obligation with somebody else for example if somebody was going to marry his daughter the two dads would get together if somebody was going to buy some land the two buyers would get to get they didn't spit in their hand and shake they didn't go to the bank and sign a contract they didn't have a a lawyer or a real estate agent right up a contract no the bible says interestingly enough we never talk about this that they would pluck off their shoe from their foot because the shoe was the picture of how a man walked and how a man worked and how a man provided that's why the bible says how beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of those that bring good tidings to the me i hate feet only my wife has cute feet even my feet are ugly if i lose my fingers i could chop off my toes they are so long and use them as fingers i hate feet god said he likes the feet of those that preach the gospel why does the bible say so much about feet feet feet i'll tell you why because when they would enter into a contractual obligation together as being in the old testament the bible says they would pluck off their shoe and they would swap shoes as a sign of surrender it was their old testament way of signing their john hancock as it were on the dotted line of the contract and the certificate and here he is in a moment of worship and he says i don't know what to do next i don't know if you're for us i don't know if you're against us i hope you're on our team but i need to know what to tell the people i'm new at this everything's been changed even our diet we don't know where to go we don't know what to do help me and the bible says that he worshipped and the angel said okay i'm gonna help you take your shoe off your foot because where you are is holy and it's time to enter into a contractual obligation with the god of the universe know more about what you want know more about what you get no more about your benefits oh no you pull your shoe off you sign on the dotted line you slide that shoe into my presence as a sign that now i'm in control now i'm the king now i'm the lord now i'm the captain of not just the lord's host i'm the captain of joshua's host too and the bible says because he was in such a holy place with god he pulled off that one shoe from that one foot and he slid it into god's presence and god's like now you ready now you're ready and the bible says and joshua did so and i was reading that really just this weekend it was almost like the lord was downloading me sometimes we want answers that god will never get us give us because we're not positioned for them we're not ready we don't have the capacity to handle them yet so i'm just gonna share this with you and i'm going to be done as i've grown and i'm slowing down on purpose because i want to talk to you as your shepherd as i've grown as i've read the bible as i've surrounded myself with with people that have helped me and spoken into my life i'm watching god do such a beautiful new work in me not not an unscriptural work but a beautiful new work as i'm as i'm learning to operate in the power and the flow of the holy spirit as i'm learning to see the truth of the bible as it is the very truth of the living word of god and sometimes i think to myself i just i got to get my worship more ((music playing)) and here's what i feel like god has us as a church i love to preach i got crazy friends who love to preach i love our music i love our tent like we're gonna have to a bigger one one day but i love what god's doing i love the baptismal celebrations that we'll have in a moment i love shaking people's hands before church after i love all that it's fun it's par for the course but i'm going to tell you what i feel heavy in my spirit just to share with you and we're going to pray i really feel like the lord is just starting his work with his church here i don't know what he's doing everywhere else but i really feel like it's just beginning i'm not talking about the crowds i'm talking about the difference that the transformative power of the gospel is making in people's lives the crowds are fun but i'm talking about what god's doing and i feel like that yes god has a whole new atmosphere and a whole new level for us to get into i get that but here's where i am personally i don't know where you're at i'm just pastoring you for a minute i feel like the only way we attain what comes next is through deeper more intimate slowed down private personal worship with the spirit of god that's the only way we're going to get there if the only time you get fed is on sundays when i grab a microphone and rah-rah bish kumbha you are malnourished and you are starving to death you need to get off facebook and get your face in the book you need to twitter yourself over your prayer closet and thy father which seeth in secret shall reward the opening some of you need to know mark 29 9 29 this kind does not come out but by prayer and fasting this tenth ain't gonna feed you you're gonna have to have some time with god because here's what we find every time god takes us to a new level not everybody makes the jump and i hate that i hate that you see i have the heart of a shepherd i don't like when people leave i like it less when they leave for stupid reasons then blame us and get online and talk about it by the way stop defending me online block them people and be done with it in the name of god stop defending i don't need you to think god will take care of me stop fighting with these people ((applause)) but i'm finding if we're going to make from where we are to where we're going it can't be about a show what you call a man of god try to tap dancing for people right it's gonna have to be real to you it's gonna have to mean something to you some of you men have to buck up put on your big boy britches and start leading your family the way god told you to lead your family now i know some of you ladies you got to do it yourself some of you men need to be men you start showing up men's bible study at 6 a.m on mondays and 6 30 on monday night watch what god can do in your life quit giving all these lackadaisical excuses it's time for the church in america to go to the next level it's time for the church on the globe to go to the next level and we only do that when we pull the shoe off and we surrender some of you're looking for answers that you've already got but you don't like the answer because what you're seeing look back in the mirror at you it's not exactly what you was expecting and god says you better pull your shoe off you better enter into a contractual obligation with me because everybody wants the power but nobody wants the process everybody wants the answers everybody wants to win jericho but nobody wants to sit in god's presence be quiet turn their phone off and just simply worship and enter into contractual agreement with god's sovereignty and authority over your life so you want to know what comes next depends on how you respond where you're at right now and i believe god's about to pour out his spirit in ways we could never imagine and we're going to have to be ready for it and the only way we get ready for the work is by doubling down on the worship if you believe that would you say amen in this tent today if you're going to be celebrating baptisms with us a time of prayer together today real quick father lord we thank you so much for this day god lord we thank you that we can come we can gather together as a local church congregation lord and that we can feast on your word lord today would we leave here different than what we were when we came in father lord would we understand the truth of entering into worship in your presence entering into a covenant with you father that we have truly surrendered it all that we have laid down everything every desire what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose their soul in the process lord today we come before you and we say to you god we surrender all to you father we are living in days that lawlessness has fallen in the streets there is wickedness all around us lord there has been a line drawn in the sand and your church has had to choose whose side are we on and lord i can speak for myself and my family that we are on the lord's side god today if there is anybody here that is still on the fence would you convict them by the spirit of god would you convict them that there is no gray area anymore you are in or you are out we can no longer play games we have a harvest to be reaped lord it's a sad truth in your word that it teaches that the harvest is plentiful and the laborers are few lord could we put aside our selfish desires and go out into the highways and hedges and compel them to come in father ((music playing)) because lord we are moving closer and closer to the day that your son the lord jesus is going to split the sky with fire in his eyes to come for his broad so lord may we be found faithful servants until that day comes may we be good stewards of everything that you have given us the word says to whom much is given much is required lord would we be found laborers of the gospel of the lord jesus lord we just thank you and we worship you father because lord you are the holy one of heaven you are the one that is worthy of it all ((music playing)) you deserve all of our honor in all of our praise father lord today as we leave here would we meditate on your word day and night that we would be taught by the spirit of god within us lord that we would truly begin to understand what it looks like to live a life in full surrender to you lord what it looks like to be obedient in all things father because lord your word says that obedience is better than sacrifice so lord would you teach us to be obedient to the still small voice within us we thank you and we love you in jesus name amen as we're about before the lord just for a moment our folks are beginning to line up i'm going to ask some of our prayer team members to come some of our men some of our ladies look if you need today if you need a breakthrough in your life maybe you're like you know what i just i just need to come and worship the lord i got some bondage i've got an addiction i got something i'm walking through man my marriage is a mess right now i'm struggling with anxiety and depression maybe you're facing a a job situation with the vaccine mandates i don't know but why don't you let somebody just put their hands on you today and just pray for you if you just want to maybe come and just kneel before the lord in his presence all by yourself whether you've been here 100 times or you be bopped under the tent the very first time but if you'd like somebody to pray with you and pray for you as these are doing right now just slip out of your place ma'am just slip out of your place sir come on visitors regular tenders members of life come on you know what you need from the lord you know you need something today come on god bless you folks are coming from all over you just come you come and pray or you come and let somebody pray with you let somebody pray are you a good person i'm not asking you are you religious i'm not asking you what you did last week or last night i'm asking you have you ever come to a place in your life that you have repented and believed in the death the burial and the resurrection of our lord and savior jesus christ do you need his forgiveness today do you need to receive the lord of glory into your life so that he can transform you and forgive you you don't just need to be saved from your sin you need to be safe from yourself you're gonna be safe from the wrath that is to come the bible says and i'm not gonna embarrass you get a lot of folks praying a lot of folks being prayed with but i want to ask you a question would there be a man would there be a lady would there be a young person would there be somebody right now quickly quietly silently but sincerely you would slip your hand up and say pastor lock pray for me i'm not sure i'm going to heaven i'm not sure my sins are forgiven i want to know rose again to take away your sin so that you could be justified by his blood and if you right now the best you know how well trust the lord jesus christ you slipped up that hand i want you to bow your head i want to help you have a conversation with god ((music playing)) right where you're at i want you to say something like this between you and god dear father i know i'm a sinner and i know for my sin i deserve hell but i believe jesus died for my sin i trust that he rose again from the dead and i ask you father to forgive me of my rebellion and disobedience to the will of god cleanse me the best i know how lord jesus i receive you and you alone as my lord and savior transform my life and give me faith to believe that when i leave this world i'll be in the presence of my savior now as we're about before the lord let me ask you a question all over this tent between you and god right now so that we may rejoice if you believe right now that in that white seat whether you're standing in the back whether you're sitting in one of them chair if you believe today that you have met the lord jesus christ through the drawing power of the holy spirit and if you prayed to receive christ i
