Well, welcome to day one of our 12 days of prayer. You made it. ((music playing)) Come on, let's stand to your feet. You know, and there's no better way to to start off ((music playing)) a time where we're just going before the Lord in prayer than just by welcoming him with our praise and with our worship, inviting him.
And you know, there's something just so special about a group of people just saying, "God, we enthrone you on our praise. God, you're faithful. God, you're good. And so, come on. Can we just prepare the atmosphere in this place today and every campus, let's just prepare this atmosphere, Lord?
We just honor you, Lord. We glorify ((music playing)) you, God. This is all unto you. It's all for you. It's about you. Be ((music playing)) magnified today. Be glorified today. We welcome you with praise. ((music playing)) We welcome you here. We welcome you here ((music playing)) today. Oh, so Christ is ((music playing)) my firm foundation with the rock on which I stand when ((music playing)) everything around me shaking.
And I've never been more ((music playing)) glad that I put my faith in Jesus. ((music playing)) Cuz he's never let me down. He's faithful to generations. ((music playing)) So why would he fail now? ((music playing)) He won't. I've still got joy. I've still got ((music playing)) joy in chaos. I've got peace ((music playing)) that makes no sense. So I won't be going under.
((music playing)) I'm not held by my own strength. Cuz I built my life on Jesus ((music playing)) and he's never let ((music playing)) me down. He's faithful in every season. ((music playing)) So why would he fail now? ((music playing)) He won't. He won't. She won't. ((music playing)) She ((music playing)) won't. ((music playing)) won't fail. ((music playing)) He won't fail. ((music playing)) Christ is my firm foundation. The rock on which ((music playing)) I stand with everything around me shaking.
I'll never be more ((music playing)) I put my faith in Jesus. He's never let me down. ((music playing)) He's faithful through generations. ((music playing)) So he f you ((music playing)) ((music playing)) ((music playing)) won't ((music playing)) you Cuz we believe ((music playing)) that you're faithful. We believe that you're good. ((music playing)) ((music playing)) Come on in faith. Let's just sing this out. Rain came ((music playing)) and wind blew.
My house was built on you. I'm safe [music and singing] with you. I'm going to ((music playing)) make it through. Rain came ((music playing)) with blue. My house was built on you. ((music playing)) I'm safe with you. I'm ((music playing)) going to make [singing] it through the rain. >> ((music playing)) >> He came through my house ((music playing)) on you. I save ((music playing)) you.
I'm going to make it. ((music playing)) I'm going to make you ((music playing)) strong. ((music playing)) I'm going to make you ((music playing)) ((music playing)) Heat. Heat. Heat. ((music playing)) I put my faith in Jesus. ((music playing)) ((music playing)) Heat. Heat. ((music playing)) Heat. Heat. ((music playing)) >> ((music playing)) >> And all the earth will shout your praise. Our hearts will cry. These ((music playing)) will sing ((music playing)) you. ((music playing)) All the earth will shout your praise.
Our hearts will cry. ((music playing)) These bones will sing. >> ((music playing)) >> Are you ((music playing)) all the earth? All the earth. All the earth will shout ((music playing)) your praise. Our hearts will cry. These bones will sing. ((music playing)) Are you ((music playing)) your ((music playing)) ins ((music playing)) praise is your rain in our arms. [singing] So we pour out our praise ((music playing)) to you. is your rain in our arms.
So ((music playing)) we pour out our praise. We pour out our praise is your ((music playing)) ins. [singing] So we pour out our praise to you. ((music playing)) Come on. Let's praise him. We honor you Lord. glorify the name of ((music playing)) Jesus. >> Oh, come on. Day one, 12 days of prayer and fasting. What a great way to start your morning, right?
We should just do this every morning. >> Some of you are like, I don't know if I could be up that early every morning. Hey, have a seat for just a moment. I want to say hello to all of our campuses that are joining with us and everyone that is joining us online uh for prayer.
I know some of you you may be getting ready for work or you're getting kids ready and uh so we're so glad that that you're with us. Want to give you just a little format of how things will go so you know and uh and then we're going to get to prayer.
So, I'm going to give you a short devotional just to kind of anchor our faith today. And uh and then we're going to move into 30 minutes of individual prayer. And at every location, there's cards uh ((music playing)) that have been submitted from our church family of just needs. And um I was talking to Lorena here and she said there's a lot of themes around um addiction around ((music playing)) um people that are are praying for prodal children. a lot of around people that are praying for people in their life that are far from God but close to them that need to know the Lord.
Um, and ((music playing)) you'll also notice and you can tell by the handwriting we had our children fill out prayer cards as well. And so there's many needs from there and those are going to break your heart uh because they're like my dad's living in an apartment. I wish he would come back and live with us.
And uh and so there's some real needs represented in our church, everybody. That's just what I want you to understand. ((music playing)) And we haven't come um to have our quiet time. We've come to intercede on behalf of our church family. Okay? You can do your quiet time at another another time of the day.
Um but I want to focus our attention around 1 John 5:14-15 says this. This is the confidence everybody say confidence >> that we have in approaching God that if ((music playing)) we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us, whatever we ask, we know that uh what we have that we have asked of him, that we know that we have what we have asked of him.
He hears us and we will have what we have asked of him if we're asking according to his will. Um my two older kids, Owen and Faith, uh Owen's home from college and they'll go out and hang out and they want to go to Dutch Bros or they want to go to In-N-Out or they want to go somewhere to eat.
And I learned the other day that Owen will tell Faith to call me because she he says, "Dad's more likely to give you money than he is to give me money cuz that's my baby girl." And I kind of usually say, "Yeah." And Tammy's like, "What are you doing?"
I'm like, "It's just it's just coffee." And I think sometimes we'll approach God like that. like if I can just if I can say the right thing or if I can just um catch him at the right moment or if I can get the right person to pray the right prayer then God will maybe listen to me.
And here's what I want us to understand and I want us to kind of set aside so that we can really focus on prayer is these aren't 12 days of twisting God's arm that we have a loving father and a heavenly father that wants to respond to your prayer. that you don't have to like get in the right thing or the right mode or have lived the perfect life.
You don't you don't have to wait and maybe on day 12 God will finally listen to you. No, if we get on the same page of God, this is the confidence everybody we have. So, we don't come to these requests today with sheepishly or God if I could just twist your arm maybe you would move on behalf of this request that I'm carrying right now or this one that of someone in our church.
No. How many of you know that it is the will of God that every person come to salvation? We can pray confidently over that. How many of you know it's the will of God that addiction be broken in the lives of people? We know we're on the same page of God with that.
How many of you know that it's the will of God that marriages be restored? Then we can come confidently before God. This is the confidence we have. And here's the promise that we pray from today. When we pray according to the will of God which is revealed in the word of God, he hears us and he answers us.
And so I'm full of expectation that the God of the universe is listening to our church today and that the God of the universe in his timing is going to answer the prayers that we pray. If you believe that, say amen. And so I want us to go into a time of of individual prayer and I want to give you a few instructions around that.
Um there's cards like I said at every location and um you know take a couple don't take them home. We want to pray over them every morning. Okay? So make sure before you leave that that you return them back. Um so pray over those. Uh, second thing I want to say is take a posture of prayer that's comfortable for you but not distracting for others.
Okay. Um, so just to be real clear, if if it's kind of quieter in the room and you're shouting, that's distracting. Okay, you got it. If you need to pace, walk around. I need to walk around at 6:00 a.m. So, I just make sure I stay good and awake.
Okay. Amen, everybody. If you need to kneel, if you need to set, whatever posture of prayer helps you connect with God, do that. Just make sure you're not distracting to those around you. Um, in about 30 minutes, the worship team's going to come back and lead us in a song that'll let you know that time's coming to a close.
That's when you can bring the cards back. Make sure you leave them here and we're going to be praying over them every morning. And then we're going to come around a corporate prayer topic and that topic today is our walk with God, our intimacy with the father. And uh we're going to pray together as a church and and when it gets to that time, I'll call us forward.
But we're just going to get as close as we can around the altar and just as a church family, we're going to pray over that prayer topic. Okay? So, would you stand with me? Let me pray for us and uh and then we'll go into a time of individual prayer.
Lord, we love you today and we've come to give you all the honor and all the glory. We've come to intercede to and we're confident today according to First John. are confident of this that when we pray according to your will that you hear us and you answer us.
So we fully expect to see answers to these prayers. We fully expect to see miracle upon miracle upon miracle. And so Holy Spirit meet with us. We pray this is for you. This is because of you and this is unto you. And we pray this in the mighty name of Jesus.
And everybody said amen. Amen. All right let's pray. Y worthy. Worthy, worthy. on your train. We are pouring out as the tree of your temple. As the train of your fle The train of your ((music playing)) temple make room for you tonight. We make tonight again. >> ((music playing)) >> of our treasure.

((music playing)) It's only you. All the glory is yours. ((music playing)) All the glory is yours ((music playing)) now and forever more. All the glory is yours. ((music playing)) Yes, it is.
We want your name. ((music playing)) Oh, we are your name. ((music playing)) ((music playing)) All right, we're going to come together for a time of corporate ((music playing)) prayer. And I would love as as much as you can just to make your way up close. Just come in tight as a family. And um I want to anchor our thoughts around two verses today.
One is in James chapter ((music playing)) 4 verse 8 where the Bible says this. says, "Come near to God and he will come near to you." And we're talking about this idea of our intimacy with Christ. That this would be the year that our personal intimacy with Christ would just go to another level.
That we would be more in love with that. We'd get to the end of 26 and go, "I'm more in love with Jesus than I've ever been. I'm more in love with his word than I've ever been. I'm more in love with his presence than I've ever been."
That this would just be that year. And this is the promise we have. You come near to me. God goes I'll come near to you. And then I also want us to think about this verse. Uh John 15:4. It says, "Abide in me and I'll abide in you."
The branch cannot itself produce fruit unless it abides in the vine. Likewise, you cannot produce fruit unless you abide in me. And so from intimacy with Jesus that the outflow of that would be that we have fruit and that the world around us sees it. That we make a difference in our school and we make a difference in our dorm room.
We make a difference in the office or in the culde-sac. Why? Not because we're striving for something. You've already you don't earn anything. Grace was given that this wouldn't be the year that you're on the spiritual treadmill. that this be the year that you go out of intimacy with Jesus, the fruit of just flowing through my life, that we would just be more in love with Jesus.
So, I want to pray around around three topics and we're going to pray together. I want you to pray out loud. Um, you know, you're not here to hear me pray and I'm going to guide us through um we'll go through three things. Number one is that ((music playing)) if there's any area where we need repentance and humility, that God would point that out in our life.
That we just say, "God, I don't want anything in my life that doesn't please you, doesn't honor you." Um, that number two, that we would abide in Christ. That we would pursue Jesus out of love, not out of duty. That this this would be a year of just love for Jesus, not, oh, I've got to, no, I get to.
And then that there would just be just spiritual renewal among our whole church family ((music playing)) that that that just we'd get to the end of the year and go, "Man, our church loves Jesus more and we look like Jesus more." Amen, everybody. I think that's a good thing for us to pray for.
All right, so let's begin with that first one. Just God, would you point out I love what David said. Psalms 139. Search me, oh God, know me. See if there be any wicked way in me. Lead me ((music playing)) in the way that's everlasting. So let's just lift up our voices.
God would do that in us and that he would do it in our church family that areas of repentance, humility, we'd come before God with a hunger ((music playing)) for him. So, let's pray. Lord, we thank you today, God, that you speak to us and we pray, Holy ((music playing)) Spirit, God, that you would just move in our hearts, Lord.
If there's any area where we need repentance in our heart, God, where we're in things that aren't pleasing to you, Lord, would you reveal them? We we echo the words of David in Psalms 139. ((music playing)) Search me, oh God, and know me. see if there be any wickedness in me and lead me in the way that is everlasting.
Lord, we want to live humble lives before you. We want to humble oursel in your presence and say, "Oh God, we you are king and we are not. You are enthroned and we are not." And so we get low before you, Lord. We want a hunger for you.
A desire for you. ((music playing)) A passion for you, God, that grows and that is vibrant and Lord that is ever increasing, Lord, that that doesn't get stale and stagnant, Lord. May this not be the year that we just go through routine and motion, God, but it would be the year that that a fire ignites, God, burns even brighter, grows even greater.
Come, let's pray for just a year of abiding in ((music playing)) Christ. That this wouldn't be a year of duty. it would be one of delight that that we'd bear fruit out of a love for Jesus. Understanding that we've we have grace. We're not performing for God. We're not earning anything from God, but we're living in the love of God.
So, go home and lift up your voice. Just say, "God, let me this be the year I abide in you. I'm not on a spiritual treadmill." Father, we just thank you in the name of Jesus that um everything was accomplished on the cross, Lord. That we're not striving for anything today, Lord.
That we're not having to twist your arm. We're not having to to run after things. We're not having to do something to please you because of the cross. Lord, we stand righteous, made whole in your sight. And so, Lord, we want to live from that place. But don't don't let us get stuck into a ditch of God, thank you, we've got to prove something to you or that we've got to God perform for you.
But Lord, may everything that we do, every work, every moment, every service, every time in prayer, every time in the word, may it be out of delight. Lord God, just give our church such a deep love for you. Lord, would there be just a hunger for a passion for you, Lord?
May we be more in love with you, God. More abiding in the vine, staying connected to the Father, understanding that we have nothing and can do nothing, Lord, apart from you, apart from your presence coming and meeting with us, apart from us being connected to the life of your spirit, Lord.
So Lord, would ((music playing)) there just be a rise, a sense of a tide rising across our entire church, Lord, of just intimacy with you and love for you and passion for you, God. Not just in a moment, but in every moment, every day and all the ((music playing)) moments of our day.
Would we have just lived with a God consciousness, Lord? As we walk through every moment of a day, Lord, no matter what we're doing, would there be a sense that you're with us and you're walking with us and we're ((music playing)) pursuing you and seeking you in everything that we do and everything that we say?
Let's just pray for a personal spiritual renewal amongst our whole church family. God Lord, we're asking today, Lord, that that this just sweep through our entire ((music playing)) church, Lord, that that those that maybe are even on the fringe that um God, they're just spectators. Would this be the year that something ignites on the inside of them, Lord?
A deeper hunger for you, a deeper desire for you. Come on, church. Let's lift our voice and intercede for those who who maybe are just checking it out or kicking the tires of church or maybe have come for a long time but just never clicked for them. Let this be the year, oh God, that they draw near to you and we stand ((music playing)) on the promise that you'll draw nearer than to them.
Let this be the year, oh God, that we see um the spiritual temperature of our church raised to another level because we have connected to the vine. We've fallen in love with Jesus. May this not be religious activity, Lord. And I pray for those that it's just a religious activity that it's a thing we do in the south.
No. May this be the year where it's fire and it's passion. Lord, may there be a fresh baptism of fire and of love and of passion for you, God. Lord, we call on you right now believing that you can do that and we're praying in accordance with your will.
So, we have confidence, God. Let this be the year, Lord, that um Lord, we just see people more hungry in worship, Lord, that there's more of a lean into the word of God. That there's more consistency and time in the word Monday through Saturday. And Lord, there just a we just see it raised all across every campus, every age group, God, from our children to our students to the young adults to God, the adults, I pray, God, just all across um our church.
May there be a rise in the temperature, Lord. And God, we commit. We just start out committing these days to you in these moments, Lord. These 12 days, Lord. We're expecting great things. We're expecting you to move in our church, ((music playing)) Lord. This is a new day. It's a new season, Lord.
And we're crowning this year, giving it to you, seeking first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, believing that all these other things will be added unto us as well. So, Lord, we give you all the honor today. We begin our day saying unto you, oh Lord, be the honor and the glory and the praise and the adoration for you alone are worthy, oh God.
And we pray this in the mighty name of Jesus. Everybody said, "Amen." Come on, why don't we all clap our hands today? What a good God we serve. ((music playing)) Hey everybody, I don't think it's very much to ask that we give nine mornings. Think about it. That's all it is. nine mornings of 365 to start our day in the presence of God.
And so, you only got eight more. All right. So, make sure you're back for day two. And I want to encourage you with this. Bring somebody with you. Text somebody before you leave here today and go, "You would not believe how many people showed up for prayer. I want to see you here tomorrow."
Students, text your friends and say, "I was at prayer. Get to prayer with me in the morning." All right. It's 6:54. I promised you you'd be out of here by 6:55. I love you so much. I love you dearly. And I'm grateful to God to get to serve alongside of ((music playing)) you.
I look forward to seeing you right back here tomorrow morning at 6:00 a.m. God bless you. I'm not demanding ((music playing)) a sign or a work of your hand. I have all I need ((music playing)) to believe. Whether I'm in ((music playing)) the waiting or the promised land, I have all I need to Believe.
