I want to say hello to every location, all of our online family, and uh you can go have a seat and we're going to jump in today. Again, just to give you a little orientation to what we do. If this is your first day, I want to say welcome.

We're going to share a quick devotional with you. Then we're going to go into about 30 minutes of personal prayer time. And want you to take cards that are in the location where you're at. They will be um on the front or some are in the back of the room.

And then we're going to the team will come out and lead us in worship in about in about 30 minutes. And then we're going to go into a corporate topic of prayer. Our corporate topic of prayer today is for our students. And uh I'm excited to pray for that cuz I feel like I'm a youth pastor that they just let be the senior pastor.

And that's what I thought I'd do all my life. And so I want to bring your attention to Colossians 4:12. and uh want to focus in on a on an individual that is only mentioned twice in the scripture um but two thoughts from his life that I think I hope would be true in our prayer life and it says this in Colossians chapter 2 or Colossians chapter 4 you know Paul's writing to the church in Colasse and he's kind of giving the final greetings in chapter 4 so and so says to tell you hi and their mom and them want you to know they love them and you know he's kind of going through that And he says this.

He says, "Eperris, who is one of you and a servant of Christ Jesus, sends greetings." And this is the part I want us to focus on. He is always wrestling in prayer for you that you may stand firm in all the will of God, mature and fully assured.

He is always wrestling in prayer for you. Now, Epaparis is only mentioned one other time in the in the Bible. He's mentioned in Phileiman and in that he's mentioned as a fellow prisoner. So, he had done some jail time. But we also know from earlier in Colossians that he is the one that brought the gospel to Colasse.

He's the one that first brought the message of grace to the people there. So, he really was kind of the original church planner of this church. And he says he's one of you. And not only did he bring the gospel to you, but I want you to know something about him that he's always wrestling in prayer for you that you would stand firm in the will of God, mature and fully assured.

So two thoughts I want to point out. One, you don't wrestle on behalf of people if you don't love them. And so there's a deep love that he had for the people. And this is what I want us to think about today. And maybe it's not passed through your mind, not because you're an unloving person, just cuz you don't think about it, but that as you pray for people that God would give you a divine love for whoever's on the other side of that.

You know, there's someone on the other side of that pin. There's someone on the other side of that request. and and you may not know their name and you may not know um who they are and they they may remain anonymous on the card, but I'm just praying today, God, would you just as we read that, would there just be this divine affection, this divine compassion, this divine empathy for where they find themselves today?

Because how many of you know that there are a lot of hurt and a lot of pain and a lot of need and and that we would have the kind of love that would cause us to wrestle in prayer. Not just a now lay me down to sleep.

Not just a um you know Lord bless these people and may everything go well, but that we would really wrestle on their behalf. I've said it before, but how would you pray if it was your child? I think that's the kind of wrestle. And it comes not from just my religious duty.

It comes out of God giving us a heart of compassion and empathy and love for where people are. And may that be said of us that we pray from a pray place of such care for people that that we see the heart of what's happening in the lives of people.

If you're with me, say amen. >> That that we would pray from that place. But the second thing that he prays for them and and maybe this isn't written on the card. I I would guess if you find one at your campus where someone wrote this, I'll be very surprised.

But I want you to add this as the prayer that they would stand firm in the will of God, mature and fully assured. That they would stand firm in the will of God. Here's the deal. You don't have to stand firm if there's no resistance in your life.

You only have to take a posture that causes you to stand firm if something is pushing against you. It's then that you've got to stand. You've got to face the resistance. And can I tell you something? All these prayer requests, this won't be the first resistance people face throughout the year.

And it won't be the first resistance that you face throughout the year. And may we pray for these people that as God is working out his good and perfect will in their life in these situations that they would stand firm. That whatever they're facing wouldn't cause them to retreat.

It wouldn't cause them to give up. It wouldn't cause them to back down. It wouldn't cause them to go, "Well, I don't know where God is in the middle of this, so I'm just going to kind of check out on it." No, we're going to pray over them.

God, as you are healing their body, cause them to stand firm in the will of God. Help them to be mature and fully assured as they're believing for their child to come back. Help them to stand firm in the will of God. As they are praying for healing in their body, help them to stand firm.

You get the point today. I want you to pray over every request today. And I pray that for our church family. God, help us to stand firm in the will of God, fully mature. That's what we're after, everybody. We We're after that we would get off of the milk of the word and get onto the meat of the word. that that we would mature in this thing being fully assured in who we are in Christ.

If you're with me, say amen. Amen. May we pray that and believe that and may that be true in the lives of people that we're praying for today. I want to remind you to as we pray to come and take the cards. As you pray over them, bring them back.

You can get more cards. Also want to want you to take a posture that is comfortable for you in prayer but not distracting to others in prayer. Someone said that um that we counted uh just here at South Lake over 4,000 requests. Over 4,000 requests. I just want you to put it in perspective.

People have a lot of needs. They may walk into church with a smile on their face. Good morning. How are you? But a lot of hurts happening in here. Doesn't matter what they look like outside. There's some things going on inside. And so today, we've come to intercede.

All right. It's day 10, everybody. Let's don't let up in our ferveny. Let's don't let up in our wrestling in prayer. Are y'all with me? Let's lean in even even more than we have before. And so I'm going ask you to stand with me and uh I'm going to pray with all of us every campus.

So glad you're here today. Let's lift our hands together to the Lord. Come on. The Bible says, "Enter his gates with thanksgiving." So why don't we start there just from your own mouth just give him thanks today. Lord, we're grateful. Grateful we're alive. Grateful we're in the house of God today.

Grateful for your presence, grateful for this time to come and seek you, grateful that you are not a God that is a far off, but you hear the cries of your children and you respond to the prayers of your people. And so we believe for it today and we ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus.

All the glory is yours. Well, we get to pray over the next generation today and uh so many wonderful things happening in our youth and how God is moving. I want to invite you at every campus make make space up front and uh come as close as you can read a verse to you from uh it's found in Psalm 78:4 says this.

We will not hide them from their descendants. We will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord. His power and the wonders he has done. We will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord. His power and the wonders he has done. You know, how many of you know that uh you don't have a church if you don't have the next generation?

You have to have somebody to pass this faith along to. And uh I I think personal opinion, I think you kind of really reach a maturity place in the Lord when you realize, oh, this isn't no longer about me and then about what I can get out of it.

It's about what can I pass along to those who can I invest my life in and pour into. and and that next generation is really in need of mothers and fathers, really in need of us um to pour into them. And so we want to pray towards that.

We're want to pray for salvation, want to pray for spiritual formation, want to pray for a bold faith. Um and and you know, the the drops of revival really seem to be falling in that generation right now. There's a real hunger for the Lord, a hunger for truth, um a hunger for the things of God.

And so we want to we want to lean into that. We want to pray for protection and wisdom over them. Uh they're facing cultural challenges you and I never faced. If you don't know that, let me tell you, they are facing cultural challenges that you and I never face.

Um it isn't the same high school you went to. It's not the same middle school. I don't even care if you were in school 5 years ago. It's not the same. They're not walking into the same environments that you and I walked into and they need the protection of the Lord and the wisdom and the discernment of God on their life.

And uh and we want to pray that ra God would raise up future leaders. Um I believe it's part of our job to call out the gifts and the callings of God in their lives and see God use them for the glory of God. And so we want to pray that over them.

And then I want to pray over our youth team. Uh the team that is serving and is on the front lines of loving and all of those who volunteer in the areas of youth nights and Youth Con and Youth Camp. Um I got a message last night from Pastor Jacob.

We have over 700 already registered for youth camp. We're believing for another 600 or so more to go to youth camp. How many of you know when you get away from your phone and you get away from everything you know and your heart is open, God can do something miraculous in their lives?

And so, let's really lean into this today and and ask God for those things. We're going to start out by praying for salvation, for formation, in other words, for disciplehip. We're going to pray um for a bold faith over this next generation. Let's start there. Let's all lift our voices.

Come on, every campus, even online. right there. I want you to stand in your living room. Father, we come before you today and God, we're grateful to be a church that cares about the next generation. Lord, our hearts are turned towards God, what you're doing in their lives.

And so, we pray right now, we're asking for salvation. Lord, we're praying that you would convict and that you would move and by your kindness, the book of Romans says it's the kindness of God that leads us to repentance. And so Lord, would the kindness of the father be so real in the lives of our students, in the lives of of students in their schools, their friends, Lord, all across the regions that we have influence and impact, Father, we ask for salvation, God, for harvest.

I pray that our youth nights and youth conference and camps, Lord, I pray that there would be just an unusual harvest this year, God. But I pray that we would look back over the year and go, "Wow, that was just unusual." It was like the wind of the spirit was blowing and and hearts were softened and and they were turned towards you and the light of the gospel was shining bright and and the the things that blinded their eyes were opening.

Lord, we're we're praying, God, for those who are who are hard towards the gospel right now, Lord, that have that have bought into a cultural narrative of who you are that there would be a softening of the heart. God, only you can do that. But we ask that you would do that.

I pray for those who know you that there would be this would be a year of unprecedented formation, God. That their hearts and their lives and their worldview would be formed by the truth of the word of God. Lord, that there would just be an unusual growth and maturity.

Lord, I I I pray that there would just be a buzz around our church that man, there's a maturity in our students. There's a love for God in our students. Lord, there just there seems to be a settleness in their spirit, a a boldness in their faith. Lord, I pray, Father, that that this would be a year of just unprecedented growth, and Lord, of unprecedented love for you.

Lord, I pray for a boldness in their faith. I pray that our schools would be turned upside down. I pray like it was said in the book of Acts, these men have turned the world upside down. I pray that that would be said of our schools because of the students that are coming from our church into their mission field.

I pray there'd be a boldness in their faith. May they be unashshamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Lord, may there just be a a fire ignited in them. Would it be burning bright in their hearts, Lord, to take the good news of Jesus? I pray that they would have no problem confronting the issues of our culture with the love and the grace of Jesus, but also with the truth of the word of God.

Lord, I pray that you would give them a stiffening of their spine, Lord. I pray that there would be nothing in them that would cower back or step back, Lord, but that they would step forward into the everything that God has for them. That they would with boldness step forward into the call of God.

I pray that they would there would be nothing in their mind that would believe the lie that they are the church of tomorrow. They are the church of today. They are the now generation. They are in this moment. Lord, that you can use them for the glory of God for great things.

Lord, I pray revival would start in the youth section and take over our church. Would revival fires burn. God, would you do an unbelievable work? We trust you for that. Come on, let's pray for protection and wisdom over our students. Lord, we pray your hand be upon them in the name of Jesus.

Protect them from the lies of the enemy. Protect them from the beliefs of this culture. God, I pray that you would protect them physically, mentally, spiritually, psychologically. Lord, in every way, would your hand be upon them. Come on. Let's pray for leaders to rise up, Lord. God, the great the the next great missionaries, the gra the next great pastors, worship leaders, children's pastors.

God, are in this generation, Lord. Would you raise them up, God, that the next great business leaders that will that will boldly live their faith in the marketplace or in this generation, raise them up, Lord. Help every one of them to see that they have a calling of God on their life.

And it may be in the church or it may be outside the church, but the hand of the Lord, the anointing of God rest on them in the name of Jesus. And would even now you begin to shape their thinking and the way they see life through the lens of they are a minister of the Lord Jesus Christ no matter what sector of society they walk into Lord.

And I pray over our team. I thank you for our youth team that loves this generation that serves them so faithfully. Would the anointing of God be on them in great and mighty ways? Would you use them? Bless our youth camp. Bless our youth conferences. raise up this generation, God, to love you and serve you.

May they be planted in the house of the Lord all the days of their life. And then may they flourish in the courts of our God. We pray this by faith and we fully expect and believe it in Jesus' name. Everybody said, "Amen." Amen. Come on. Amen. Amen.

All right. We love you so much everybody. One more morning. What are you going to do? One more morning. So sad. Somebody's like, "Let's keep going." I'm like, "Y'all keep going." You can keep going. You should start a prayer small group. And you can pray anywhere, anytime. So, if God's putting you on the on your heart to do that, then do that.
