Now you call ((music playing)) me when I was broken. Heat. ((music playing)) Heat. ((music playing)) Heat. Heat. ((music playing)) ((music playing)) Oh my ((music playing)) god. ((music playing)) I've got joy in the sunshine, joy in the rain. ((music playing)) You keep me dancing again. Heat. ((music playing)) Heat. ((music playing)) Yeah. Heat. ((music playing)) Heat. Heat. ((music playing)) ((music playing)) >> ((music playing)) >> Hey, welcome to day 11 everybody. You made it. Come on. Well, why don't you have a seat and uh we're going to jump into a thought from the word of God and then if this is your first day, welcome.

And it still counts. just if you're like, "Hey, I just now made it." It still counts. And uh we're we're glad you're in the room. And we're going to just have a quick devotional stir of faith towards prayer. And then obviously we'll go into about a half hour of prayer.

And we want you to take cards, pray over these cards, intercede on behalf of the needs of the people in our church. And then we'll come back together uh for a corporate prayer. And and when the team leads us in another song of worship, that'll kind of be the signal that that's happening.

I want to draw your attention to Exodus 33. Um the Lord in this in the context of this passage is telling Moses, "You're going to lead the people of Israel." Um and it's it to me it's one of the most humorous interactions between God and one of his leaders because Moses God says, "Moses, you're going to lead these people, but they're so stiff necked.

I'm not going with you because if I go with basically God says if I go with you I know I'm going to get so frustrated that I may just wipe you out. And uh and so Moses responds to him and says well I'm not leading them if you don't go.

Have you ever had those kind of conversations with God where you're like you're just like Lord if well if you don't do it I'm not I'm not if you don't show up I'm not showing up. And that's kind of where Moses is. And then in verse 14 um it says this.

The Lord replied, he God goes, "Okay, Moses, my presence will go with you and I'll give you rest." And then Moses said to him, "If your presence does not go with us, don't send us up from here. How will anyone know that you are pleased with me and with your people unless you go with us?"

I love this question. What else will distinguish me and your people from all the other people on the face of the earth? In other words, what Moses was saying is if we don't have your presence, we're just like everybody else. We're doing it in our own strength. We're bringing the very best that we can bring.

But the thing that will distinguish us, God, is that your presence ((music playing)) is with us and on our life. Here's the principle I want you to get today is this. The purpose of prayer is not to seek the heart of God or the hand of God. It's to seek the heart of God.

If we come for 12 days and we fast for 12 days and and we go through night of worship and all we've done is encountered the hand of God, I think we've missed it. The point is that we would come through these 12 days and we would be more connected to the heart of God.

That we would more know the presence of God. Because how many of you know when you have the presence of God, then the hand of God comes along with it. You don't have to worry about that. It's what Matthew told us. seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these other things will be added to you as well.

In the context of that chapter, he's talking about doesn't the frog has a lily pad to land on? Don't you think God knows about that? He's talking all about provision. And in the middle of provision, he says, but seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these other things, all these things that you worry about, all the needs that are up here, he says, I'll take care of those if you'll place me first.

If if the pursuit of your heart will be it it's what Moses said to God. If you don't go, I'm not going. If you're not there, I don't want to be there. If your presence isn't there, I don't want to go as well. And can I just say, I hope that out of these 12 days that that day 13 and 14 and 15 and 16 that you keep pursuing the heart of God.

Yes, we're lifting up things. We want his hand to to move him, but ultimately end of the day, we want his heart. We want the presence of God with us. Can I get a good amen, everybody? We want the presence of God with us. And when we have the presence of God, the marking thing about the presence of God when it comes, there's three main markers, maybe one or two more, but I think they fit under these three categories.

I'd argue that when the presence of God comes throughout the scripture, it's not about a feeling or a vibe. It's not about goosebumps or, you know, hair standing on the back of your neck or are are y'all with me this morning? Like, that's not that's not an indicator of the presence of God.

The indicator of the presence of God first is that he reveals himself. In other words, that you get to know him personally. Anytime the presence of God comes, it's so the people of God know God in a better way. It's a revelation of who he is. Anytime the presence of God comes, number two, it comes to shape who we are.

In other words, the presence of God comes to form something in us. So that that something grows, that our faith grows, ((music playing)) that that we transform, that we change. You can't encounter the presence of God and transformation not happen in your life. So it shows up to transform us.

And then I would say the third reason is is the presence of God always shows up to empower you to be on the mission of God. Acts 18, but you'll receive power so that you can be my witness so that you can be on the mission of Jesus in the earth.

This is why the presence of God comes. Not so we have a good service, everybody. I'm all about a good service. I love a good worship set. Are y'all with y'all awake today? Like I'm for all that. But the presence of God doesn't come to give you goosebumps.

It comes so you know God better. It comes so you are shaped by the presence of God. And it comes so you are empowered to get outside of these walls and go live on the mission of God and make a difference in the world around us. ((music playing)) That's why the presence of God comes. >> So Lord, we want your presence.

We like Moses, we're not going if you don't go. Where you are is where we we want to be. What you're doing is what we want to be doing. And so send your presence. And the marker of that is we're going to know him better. The marker of that is we're going to look more like him in the way that we talk, in the way that we act, in the way that we respond to people.

And we're going to go make a difference for him outside the walls of the church. Because when his presence comes, he empowers you to be his witness. And that's ultimately what we want is to push back darkness and advance the kingdom of God in the earth. Amen everybody.

Amen. That's why we want his presence. All right, let's stand to our feet and we're going to go to a time of individual prayer. Obviously, um you can get the cards at every campus and uh we want you to take a posture of prayer that's comfortable for you, not distracting to others.

And uh and then we're going to intercede. And as you pray over cards, you can bring them back, grab grab new sets of cards. We just want to make sure that we're covering and interceding on behalf of our our church family. Why don't we lift our hands to heaven?

Lord, we're grateful today. Come on, lift up your own prayer to him. We're just grateful. We enter your gates with thanksgiving today. Enter your courts with praise. What a great and a mighty God that you are. You are, as we've learned, lljon. You are the Godmost high. So, we're not crying out to a God that can't hear us.

We're not praying to a God that is weak and feeble, but you are the most high God. And so, we take great confidence today as we pray. We seek you with all of our heart knowing that you will meet us there. As we draw near to you, you will draw near to us.

Thank you that you hear the prayers of your people. We pray this in the mighty name of Jesus. Everybody said, "Amen." Amen. Set revival free in our surrendering. ((music playing)) Come start a fire [singing] and let it burn. We're crying now till heaven fills ((music playing)) the earth. Oh. Oh. ((music playing)) Oh. ((music playing)) Heat. ((music playing)) Heat. Heat. ((music playing)) >> ((music playing)) >> Heat. Heat. ((music playing)) ((music playing)) >> ((music playing)) >> Come on. How many of you know he's worthy today? Come on. Your greatest affection. We're going to pray uh this last morning together.

Everybody said, "Oh, this is the last morning, right? Don't forget about night of worship tomorrow night. It's going to be a great time together." Ephesians chapter 4. We're going to pray for uh church leaders today. I was thinking, it's a little awkward. I'm not going to pray for myself.

We're going to pray for all of our other leaders. So, one of you pick up Tammy and I'd appreciate your prayers. Um Ephesians 4:15- 16 says this. Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head that is Christ.

Let's all remember that we have one chief shepherd chief shepherd and his name is Jesus. So from him the whole body joined and held together by every supporting ligament grows and builds itself up in love as each part does its work. Basically what Paul is telling the church in Ephesus is we need everybody.

We need everybody stepping into the role that God has for them because we need every ligament. How many of you know if you lose one of your ligaments, you're going to lose your ability to function in the way that you should function? You may be able to get by, but you're not going to function fully in the way that you should function.

Right? And uh so that's what he's saying. And so we want to pray for that. And um we're going to have a couple of prayer points. I forgot to say I want to encourage you if get out, come close. You know the drill. Uh just move out into the aisle.

Come close as you can. We want to pray around a couple of areas. We want to pray for spiritual health, want to pray for strength, want to pray for ((music playing)) um maturity, want to pray for unity. How many of you know that it's uh where there is unity, God commands a blessing?

So, we want to we know that invites the blessing of God. We want to pray for love. We want to pray for we want to lead with a spirit of humility. Um want to lead with a spirit of grace that would shape how we lead. We want to pray over our pastoral staff, our team, our ministry leaders.

Want to pray over volunteer leaders. Want to pray over their families. Want to pray for our elders. Want to pray for wisdom and discernment and to be protected. Um that they they carry the weight, the gift of the weight. You know, I hear so many ministry leaders like, "Man, it's weighty to be in ministry."

I was like, "That's what you signed up for, everybody." Um, so it's a gift, but we want to carry it with grace. The weight is a gift. It's a It's a privilege. It's a high honor. Um, and that we would be healthy and Christc centered in every decision that we make, every step that we take forward, and that most of all, we'd walk in obedience to Jesus, who is the chief shepherd of the church.

We're just all here serving him. Amen, everybody. >> Amen. So, let's start out. We'll we I'll guide you through that. And um again, as I've said every morning, you're not here to hear me pray. We're here to pray together. All right. So, I want you to to open your mouth, lift up your voice, come on at every campus, and let's go to the Lord in prayer over these topics.

We're going to start praying spiritual health, maturity, unity, love, humility. You pick one of those and focus on it. Lord, we're just so grateful today for the church. It's the bride of Christ. It is your plan A for the gospel to be advanced in the earth. There is no plan B.

And so God, we're grateful for it today. And God, with all of its flaws because it's led by flawed people, it is still your primary vehicle of advancing the gospel ((music playing)) to the nations. And so we're grateful for the church. We thank you that the church is being built by our chief shepherd and the gates of hell cannot prevail against the church.

Lord, we thank you that you gave us order within the church. You gave us structure. God, you gave us principles to live by and how to operate and God how that we need each other. And so, Lord, we lift up the leadership of our church. I I thank you today for our elders and and ((music playing)) the role that they play and the the weight that they carry and and the way they do it with grace.

I pray your hand upon them, ((music playing)) God. I pray the anointing of the Holy Spirit upon them. I pray a hedge of protection around them, around their families, their children, their grandchildren. Lord, I pray, God, that they would sense the pleasure of God as they lead. And God, as they step in and they walk in the role that you've called them to, Lord, I thank you for the team here.

What an amazing staff team that we have, Lord, across every campus, whether it's campus ministry teams or support ((music playing)) teams or central teams. Lord, I just thank you for the group that you've brought together. And God, we want to lead with humility, God. We want to lead in unity.

Uh we believe that where there is a unified heart, Lord, that you command a blessing, Lord. So, I just pray, God, for your hand to be upon our team. I pray greater anointing in the days ahead, Lord. I pray for growth. I pray that we're always getting better, Lord. that we're not just God that we're not just satisfied with where we are, but that our spirits are growing, our minds are growing, our competencies are growing, Lord.

That we get better so we can lead better. That we get better so we can serve better, God. That we we get better so that we can help more and more people experience the gospel of Jesus, the grace of God, that grow, Lord, that we could empower more of our church to make a difference in the world around them.

Lord, I pray that that you would grow us, stretch us, get us out of our comfort zones. Lord, we don't want to be stagnant. We don't want to be the same. We don't want to get to the end of the year. And God, be where we were spiritually and where we were in our competence and where we were in our leadership.

And God, stretch us. Make us big people on the inside. God, full of love, full of compassion, full of humility. God, fill us with that, oh God, that we might lead greatly in the days ahead. Lord, I pray for every servant ((music playing)) leader in the house. Everyone that serves, gives of their time, gives of their energy.

Lord, I thank you for them. God, they are the world changers. They're the difference makers. God, they are the ones that are that are uh God being used in their gifting in beautiful ways. So Lord, I pray your hand upon them. I pray for unity and love. I pray the same things over them.

Compassion, ((music playing)) humility, God, would be a marker of this house. Would it be a marker of this house, Lord, that that we all get our hands on the net of catching the fish that you are bringing into this place, God? I pray for I just pray for a spirit of servantthood to rise up within our church, ((music playing)) God.

That we would not be spectators, God. That we would not just be consumers of of what is being offered, but we would ((music playing)) be contributors into the body of Christ. That we would put our fingerprints on it. We need every ligament. We need every arm. We need every finger, God, so that the body may be complete in fulfilling the mission that Jesus ((music playing)) has for it in the earth.

So God, I pray this year would be marked by unusual an unusual wave of people stepping into the calling of God on their life, stepping into serving, stepping into making a difference with ((music playing)) their life and being used by you to see people come to know you in beautiful ways.

And Lord, I just pray God that as we lead and God as we give direction, we just confess we are following obediently the leadership of the great shepherd Jesus Christ. Lord, we pray like Moses, we will not move unless you move. We will not go unless you go, God.

We will not take a step until you take a step. Lord, we are submitted to you. Lord, I pray for my own self. I'm submitted humbly under your lordship. My life is not my own. It is yours. It's been bought with a price. So lead us, guide us, and we will wholeheartedly follow.

And we pray this ((music playing)) in the mighty name of Jesus. Come on, everybody said a big amen. Come on. A day 11. Amen. >> ((music playing)) >> What a wonderful time it's been, right? How many of you didn't think you'd love getting up this early, but then you got here and you're like, "Oh, I love this.

Love it. Love it." Here's what I I really want to challenge some of you, too, is at all of our campuses, God has stirred something in you unusual. It's not that you've enjoy just enjoyed it. You feel a burden for it. And that could be God nudging you to continue it.

And the best way you continue that is to determine you're going to lead us prayer group that you would sign up and say, "Okay, God, use me once a week, once every other week, and I'm going to I'm going to find some other like-minded people that they want to pray and they want to intercede on behalf of our church and the needs of people."

And you do that. That's a God's God's nudging you in that way. And that may be why. So ask the Lord what you're supposed to do. and then just obey him. And somebody said, "I don't want this to end." And here's my encouragement to you. Doesn't have to. >> Doesn't have to.

The presence of God can meet you in your home. The power of God can meet you in the conference room at your office. You can pray together at a Starbucks. It doesn't have to end, everybody. All right? And we're going to learn more and more that we are the church.

We don't need to wait for the organization to do something for us to get on the mission of God. >> Amen everybody. >> So I want to encourage you to love you so much. Love you. Love you. See you tomorrow night. Night night of worship. Have a great Thursday everybody. >> ((music playing))
