I Can't Give What I Don't Have | Pastor Travis Greene | Forward City Church

Transcript

Hey, my family. I'm so humbled and honored by the fact that you're hanging out with me today. YouTube podcast, Facebook, wherever you're watching from. Thank you so much. Today, I preached a message simply entitled, "I can't give what I don't have." I came from the book of Acts, chapter 3, where Peter and John comes up on a lame man and they ask for anything alms.

He's begging and they tell him, "Silver and gold I don't have. Such as I have I give to you." And we're in a dying and divided world where people are desperate for hope. They're desperate for something a little more than our podcast quotes. They need power. And we don't we can only give them power if we've received that power.

And so, man, I'm so glad I I'm telling you, I believe this message is going to speak to you. Get your notebooks out, open up the word of God, and let's prepare to get a word from him. >> Acts 3, verse one. One day, Peter and John were going up to the temple at the time of prayer.

At 3:00 in the afternoon, now a man who was lame from birth was being carried to the temple gate called beautiful, where he was put every day to beg from those going into the temple courts. When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for money.

Peter looked straight at him as did John. Then Peter said, "Look at us." So the man gave them his attention, expecting to get something from them. Then Peter said, I love this. Silver and gold I don't have, but what I do have, I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk, man.

Do me a favor. Tell somebody, it's time to move, bro. It's time to move. It's time to move, girl. Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up. And instantly, the man's feet and ankles became strong. You're about to get your strength back. He jumped to his feet and began to walk.

Then he went with them into the temple courts walking, jumping and praising God. When all the people saw him walking and praising God, they recognized him as the I like this same man who used to sit begging at the temple gate called beautiful. They were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.

While the man held on to Peter and John, can you see it? He's holding on to them. He can't believe what's happening to him. All the people were honest and came running to them in the place called Solomon's Colony. When Peter saw this, he said to them, "Fellow Israelites, I like this right here.

Why does this surprise you?" When you see God moving, why are you surprised when the miracle you've been waiting on happens in your life? Why are you surprised when God takes what the enemy meant for I wish I had a church for evil and turns it for your good?

Why are you surprised? Why do you stare at us as if by our own power or godliness we have made this man walk? The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his servant Jesus. You handed him over to be killed, and you disowned him before Pilate, though he had decided to let him go.

You disowned the holy and righteous one and asked that a murderer be released to you. You killed the author of life, but God raised him from the dead. We are witnesses of this by faith in the name of Jesus. This man whom you see and know was made strong.

It is in Jesus's name and the faith that comes through him that has completely healed him as you can now see. Verse six is where I want to put emphasis today. And Peter says, "Silver or gold, I do not have, but what I do have, I give you.

In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk." I got a message today that's burning in my heart. I'm going to release to you. And it's simply called this. I can't give what I don't have. >> Do me a favor. Look at somebody. Tell them, "I can't give >> what I don't have." >> Lord Jesus, you're already here.

So continue moving by your power in Jesus name. Amen. If you're excited for the word of God, give him a praise on your way down. I can't give what I don't have. Ladies and gentlemen, the Lord has really blessed me at the age of 41 to get wiser every year.

And one of the ways I've grown in wisdom is that I stop loaning out money. Now, before you judge me, that does not mean that I'm not generous. It just means that I'm wise. So, what I do is if someone comes to me in need and I have it to sew, I'll let it go.

But if I can't have it, so if I can't give it to you, I'd rather give it to you and let God bless me than be standing around waiting on my $20 back that you forgot about. Just make me look a certain type of way at people. Got it.

You can have it. I'll throw it. But not only am I like that with my money, I had to start being like that with time. Listen, access has to be earned. >> And so even with me, you have to be qualified to have my time. It does not mean that I don't, you know, give attention to you and talk to you.

If I see you in the street, if I see you somewhere, you know, I'm holl at you or whatever. I'm talking about real time. I'm talking about valuable time. I'm talking about anything over 30 minutes. I got to budget that. But not only my money and my time, but I've learned to budget my emotions.

I can't give my tears to everybody. >> Some of us just be too we just say everything get us antsy and frazzled and and frustrated. I stop doing that. You got you got to be qualified to get these tears from me. I budget my emotions. Single people, all my single ladies, all my single men.

Come on, wave at me. Don't be shy. You don't know. You might get the hook up in the lobby. Listen, quit begging for people to choose you. ((applause)) You only beg to be chosen when you don't recognize that you're already chosen. >> Here's something else for single people. Quit waiting on somebody to give you pure love when you know they haven't even purely received the love of the father. >> The Bible says, "Love your wives."

Husband, love your wives as Christ has loved the church. How in the world can I love my wife properly if I haven't received the love of God first? Then you know the Bible even says it says love your neighbor as yourself. You're tripping. Why don't they see me?

Why? Because because they don't see themselves right. >> And you can't give what you ain't got. >> That's all I've learned. I've just been growing. I've been learning. But not just money and not just time and not just emotions, but this also goes into spiritual things. There is a world that is dying and in desperate need of the power of God.

But I'm afraid that we've raised up so many shallow Christians who are okay with coming to church to check off a box so we feel a little better about ourselves until Tuesday and then we're back into the same cycle. And people around us are dying and they need the move.

They need the power of God, but we don't have it to give it because we haven't first received it. You know, they told me growing up, they used to say uh at the end of service, they used say uh may the Lord watch. I ain't got no church people up here.

Between me. I like it though. It's cool. We going to teach y'all some church stuff. Between me and thee while we're absent one from another. And they if you really went to a holiness church like me, they say this. They say much prayer. >> Much pray. Oh, look at you. >> Little prayer, little power, no prayer, >> no power.

And the reason, listen to me, why we don't have power to give because we haven't spent enough time in the presence of God to receive power. And there is a devil that loves nothing more than you to be so busy that you don't spend time at the feet of Jesus. >> The world don't need your podcast quotes.

They need the power of God. >> I like this in Acts chapter 3 because it talks about Peter and John. They're having an ordinary day and they're headed to 3:00 prayer at the temple. And when they're headed there, the Bible says there is a lame man who's been laying there every day. here.

Imagine that. Imagine being the same place every day with nothing to look forward to. As I was preparing this, my mind went to the story that happened to me and across Ghana. And this story just messed me up because I'm in Ghana and and we're headed to this event in Africa.

And while we're in the event and I always just do stuff, security be so mad at me cuz I just be rolling out the window. I be like, "Hey everybody be like, "Boy, you can get kidnapped. Roll your window up. I don't care. Hey y'all." And we was at the stoplight and we got to stop light and there was a there was a billboard um advertising that vet and it had me on the billboard and we got to the stoplight and and in certain parts of Africa at every stop at every stoplight you'll see people begging right in in certain parts and so in this particular part there was there was a man and it was a lot of people at the intersection but there was this man and he was handicapped and he was begging uh for money begging for you know help and I rolled out my window and I was just being goofy and I told him I said hey man Hey man, I think I gave him $20 or something, but I said, "Hey, man."

Amen. Look, that's me up there. And he looked, he said, and then the car took off. I don't think he knew who I was. I just think he was amazed that he saw the man who was on a billboard. And the driver told me something that messed me up.

I'll never forget this all the days of my life. He said, he said, he said, "Travis, um, what just happened is the most significant moment of this man's life." >> I thought it was being funny. I was like, "Come on, man." He said, "No, no, no. I'm being serious."

He said that is the highlight of his life. He'll never have a moment in his life that exceeds that. As a matter of fact, for the rest of his life, however long that is, he'll tell everybody, "I met a man on a billboard." And it crushed me to my soul because I can't imagine your every day being so mundane and so stuck that you are hopeless.

Nothing to look forward to. No hope for a future, no hope for a promotion, no hope for a better day. This is it. And that was this lame man every single day doing the same thing. And I like what the Bible says in Acts 3:4. Put it up for me.

The Bible says that Peter looks at him, looks straight at him and said, "Look at us." And the man looked down and expected to get something from him. I like that Peter told him to look at us because it dawned on me that before Peter addressed his legs, he addressed his eyes. >> Because as a man thinkketh, so is he. >> But you think how you see.

And so Peter said, "Let me start dealing with your perspective, with your perception before I start dealing with your condition." I like this because Peter looks at him and he says, "Man, man, man, I want I want to deal I want to deal with the way you see yourself >> because the reason you're not looking me in the eyes, you're not trying to be disrespectful.

You just don't have any respect for yourself, man. And you're used to people looking down on you, but I'm not looking down on you. I'm calling you up." And what touched me the most about this scripture was Peter's empathy. I said, "Man, I want to be more like that."

Peter wasn't such in a rush that he wasn't willing to make a connection. He didn't just see this man as disabled. He didn't just see this man as a beggar. He saw this man as human. Human. Human. As I was praying through this text, and it was ironic because for at least a week, this text has just been brewing in my heart.

Normally on Sunday evening, God starts speaking to me about the next Sunday. And this text just starts brewing in my spirit that God's like, "So go have a none. But since I have a gift to you, I was like, "Cool, cool, cool." And the more I started reading this and the more I started praying through it started making sense, especially with the episodes that we all endured this week.

This week was one of the most chaotic weeks in American history. There was a shooting in Colorado and this is the ninth school shooting this year up the street in Charlotte. A woman was stabbed to death on a train minding her business. HB.CU CU shut down across this nation on lockdown and an assassination on a college campus of Charlie Kirk.

Now, as I was praying and think about this and a lot of people like, "Why you a make no post? Why ain't do nothing?" Cuz I'm not the pastor of of America. I'm the pastor of Forward City Church. So, I wasn't in a rush to say something. I had to have a fruit of the spirit called patience and sit and not just be in a rush to give my opinion, but I needed to get in the face of God to get his opinion.

Matter of fact, the Lord made me fast for about the past 36 hours or so from social media because he said, "It's just too much noise. I need you to seek my face. I need you to get a word from me for my people." And one of the things that I am very aware of, I'm very aware of, this is not news to anybody.

I'm very aware of some of the statements that Charlie Kirk made, some harsh statements that he made to black community and to Asians and to Hispanics. I'm aware of that. I'm aware that he wasn't a perfect man, but I'm also aware that the man was 31 years old.

And who knows where his faith journey was going to take him. And what was very hurtful to me was not just the idea of his widow and his children having to grow up without a dad because I actually know what that's like. That wasn't the only thing that disturbed me.

The thing that disturbed me the most, ladies and gentlemen, was the reaction of so-called believers on social media. I could not believe that there were people who called themselves Christians and were celebrating the death of a man. >> Oh, it's tight. I don't I don't care. >> How How can we be believers of the same God and celebrate the Are you Are you that angry? >> Well, that's what he got.

What's coming to him? Well, thank God I didn't get what was coming to me and thank God you didn't get what was coming to you. Come on. Some of us forgot how nasty we used to be. Some of us forgot how lost we used to be. And you better be glad that you didn't get killed at your lowest moment.

How dare we get so callous >> that we lose our sensitivity >> that more than a philosopher and more than a podcaster and more than a political figure, he is a human. >> And we are all children of God. Black child of God. White child of God. KKK.

Uh-oh. >> He created them, too. >> Black Panther, he created them, too. >> And it's so funny. We love scriptures. All things work together for the good of those who love the Lord. We love scriptures more than conqueror than him who is in Christ Jesus. We love scriptures.

Put on the whole armor of God so you can stand it. We love all these scriptures and we forgot it was written by former terrorists. >> Oh, no, no, no, no, no. You might as well go ahead and bleach off that tattoo cuz the man who wrote it, Paul, was Saul going around killing Christians. >> Oh yeah.

See, ((applause)) >> and you forgot it wasn't the KKK. It wasn't the Black Panther who killed Jesus. It was church folks that was so stubborn in their own self-righteousness that they couldn't even recognize the move of God because it looked different than what they were used to. >> It's tight.

I like this. I like this room. I'm going to keep working till the Lord do a work in you. >> And God said, man, he he said, Tra, what's wrong with my people >> that they become so hard and callous? And he said, they don't recognize that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds.

We don't We're so blinded by CNN and Fox and CNBC and Twitter. Is it still called that? and Facebook and we're so blinded by Tik Tok that we forgot that it's really a spiritual battle. >> And that's why I love this text. I love this text in Acts chapter 3 because Peter and John walks up to this man at a gate called beautiful.

And I think this text is a beautiful picture of what the world is supposed to be. We're supposed to be beautiful, but we're broken. And he pulls up to this man and he says, "Hey, I know you're stuck, but Jesus is the answer. And I know exactly who I came to preach to today.

I came to preach to people who feel stuck, people who feel overlooked, people who feel marginalized, people who feel less than, people who feel disqualified. And I came to tell you that God is about to promote you out of your stuck place. He's about to lift you up from the place you've been in and push you into the purposes of God.

Only God can do that. And I love that Peter made eye to eye contact with them because Peter said, "Listen, your soul matters more than your condition." And I wonder what would happen if we as a church got outside of our comfort zone, got outside of our preferences, and were willing to look people eye to eye and empathize.

Was willing to sit at a dinner table with people who don't vote like us. >> Oh yeah. Come on. Come on. Come on. >> Who don't think like us. were willing to hear someone else's story of their world view. And I like this about Paul that that Paul said, "Before I even talk about your struggle, let me talk about you as a person." >> Man, he says, "Look at me.

Look at me." Tell somebody, "Look at me." >> I had this thought. This is what true ministry is. True ministry when I walk up here or Pastor Jamal or Pastor Mik or Iman or any of these people when they walk on stage, they're saying, "Look at me." And don't look at me to worship me, but look at me so I can show you who I'm looking at.

Ministry is all about putting yourself, it's a vulnerable thing, ladies and gentlemen. You're putting yourself on display so others can see the Jesus in you. That's why every day I got to kill my flesh. You ain't the only one in a battle. Every day I got to put my pride on the altar.

And I got to say, God, if you can use anything, Lord, use me. I decrease so you can increase in me. And I can tell people, look at me so I can show them you. He said, look at me. This is why we do city groups here. I wish that everyone would sign up and be involved in a city group because you're inviting people or you're accepting an invitation into personal space to make personal connection, eye to eye connection so you can say, "Look at me."

This might have been the man's first time ever having someone with a higher perspective invite him up. I love that. And I underlined a few things in this text. Give me 10 more minutes. I hate when I say that cuz I never But I'm going to try I'm going try my best.

Seriously, there's a few things in the text that got my attention. Verse two in chapter 3, he said, he said, the Bible says, "Now a man," this is Luke writing. He said, "Now a man was lame from birth and being carried to the temple car beautiful where he was put every day."

Let me pause right there real quick. Now, the man was lame from birth. When I read Lane from birth, it it dawned on me that there there are people who have either had a car accident or a gunshot wound or have fallen or something that happened where they they they have a disability, but they didn't always had it.

And so now they have to go through rehab and have to do different things in order to relearn how to walk. That's one thing. It's one thing to relearn how to walk. It's another thing to be a grown man and have never walked in your life. I got a little nephew called Arlo and he's he's almost one years old and I have him at the house and I be trying to help him walk and he's never walked before and he just wobble around and I grab his hands and try to help him and it's taking Arlo a year to learn how to walk.

What dawned on me is that this man had never walked before in his life. And what takes babies a year to do, this man did instantly. >> Y'all, this thing blessed me. This thing blessed me. The Bible says they grab his hand and instantly his feet and his ankles, verse 7, got strong.

He jumped up. The Bible says started walking and jumping and praising God. And it dawned on me that the miracle in this text was not just the fact that he gained strength to stand. The miracle is that this man for the first time started, can you imagine this?

Got up, started walking and jumping. Them strong legs. Some of us been walking all our life and we can't jump. This man Then I was reading this and the Lord said, "Tra, that's not even the full miracle. The full miracle is not just the fact that he was walking and jumping.

The full miracle is that I transformed him from a beggar to a praiser." >> This ain't going to hit everybody the same way. But the Lord says, "When I do what I'm about to do in your life, how about you don't forget to praise me. When I give you the promotion, when I give you the business, when I give you the new home, when I turn your situ, don't you dare forget to praise me.

When I put motion to something that used to be stagnant, God says, "Don't forget to praise me." This message is to call you out of your stuck place because God has a big plan for you. I need you to look at your fa your neighbor real quick and tell him, "God got a plan for you."

God got a plan for you. I owe him the praise. Woo! I owe him the I need just 10 people who got a praise that you owe him. Come on, somebody forgot to praise him this week to give God the best praise you got. I owe him. I owe him.

I owe him. I owe him. But that's just the first thing. That's just the first thing. The second thing that jumped out to me, go back to verse two, is not just the fact that he was lame from birth. The Bible says he was placed there every day.

He was placed there every day. Say that with me. Every day. Now, when I read this, I said, "Wait a minute." I said, "Wait one minute. If he placed there every day, then surely Peter and John would have seen him before. If they went to the temple to pray at 3:00 prayer service, they probably wasn't their first time seeing the man."

And God said, "I ain't never say it was the man first time seeing him." I said, "Wait a minute." Cuz you can't just read the Bible. >> You got to read the Bible. The Bible does not say it's this man's first encounter with Peter and John. It just shows us that it's his first encounter with Peter and John after Acts chapter 2.

Now, I got a few people who know a little bit about the book. I heard it. People say and maybe you're wondering what is Acts chapter 2. Acts chapter 2, ladies and gentlemen, is when the power fell. >> The Bible says that 120 woo people gathered together in the upstairs room and something started happening.

There was a move, spirit move, holy spirit move. There was a move of God. But in order to understand and appreciate Acts chapter 2, you got to have the context of Acts chapter 1. And the Bible says in verse four, the second part, he, this is Jesus talking.

He said, "Don't leave Jerusalem. Wait for the gift my father promised which you have heard me speak about." Woo, this is powerful. He says, "For John baptized with water." That's what we did Jordan Sunday. He says, "But in a few days, you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit," with the Holy Ghost.

Fast forward a few days, 10 days later, at chapter 2, verse one, "When the day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord." I like that. In one place, and suddenly there was a sound from heaven as a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.

I'm starting to get excited. Then there appeared on them divided tongues of fire and sat one one sat upon each of them and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and begin to speak with tongues in other languages. Get the moderates can't just read the Bible. You got to just I want to give you very quickly a recipe for revival.

A recipe for revival. Number one, write this down. Unity. Unity. Unity. Unity. Acts chapter 2 verse one, it says this. When the day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all together with one accord in one place. One accord. One accord. Unity. Fish thrives in water. Seed thrives in soil.

The devil thrives in division. Yeah. >> He loves nothing more than to divide people, to send malice, to send anger, to send hatred, to divide a household. That's what that's what we're a household. That's what we're really up against with all of this stuff we're really up against.

He's trying to divide homes because he suffocates where there is unity, but he thrives where there is disunityity. It is his natural habitation. He loved it. It's his habitat. It's where he's like, "Oo, I'm home. I feel good up in here." And he knows what the Bible says in Psalms 133 that where there is unity, God commands a blessing.

So the enemy has been working overtime to make this nation the divided states of America. He knows that if we come together, man, if we come together, there will be power. The Bible says in Genesis when they built the Tower of Babel, the Lord said, "Let us go down and confuse them."

He says, "Because they're so united that there's nothing they won't be able to do." And the devil knows it. That's why he's been sending division. I need you to repeat after me. I rebuke >> I rebuke >> division. Come on, shout it. Shout it like you're Pentecostal. I rebuke >> I rebuke >> division.

Division. And but man, the Bible says the Bible says that the enemy wants you to be divided because anything divided cannot stand. I rebuke division in my home. I rebuke division in my mind. I rebuke division with my team and with my staff. I rebuke division because it is the plan and the ploy and the plot of the enemy.

Number one, you need unity for revival. Number two, >> a sound. The Bible says in verse two of chapter 2, suddenly a sound from heaven as if a rushing mighty wind, it filled the house. You know, when we're singing and we say send the wind, we're really saying send the sound >> cuz revival has a sound.

The Bible says the sound of a rushing mighty wind and it filled the house. And the Lord told me to give you good news that when your house get unified, he's going to fill the house. My God, how many people can take that blessing? I want you to fill my house.

But he filled it, hear me, with the sound of a rushing wind. And I read this and I said, "Well, why didn't Luke just write that it was a wind?" God said it wasn't. It sounded like a wind. I said, "Well, what was it?" If you mind me asking.

And I felt like the Lord told me this. Felt like it's a secret that I'm able to tell you. Felt like the Lord told me the reason it wasn't a wind and it sound like a wind because I was breathing in the room. >> And when God breathes in a place, dead things come alive.

My God. And I need to prophesy to 50 people real quick and tell you, get ready. He's about to breathe on you. He's about to breathe on your business. He's about to breathe on your marriage. He's about to breathe on your womb. Come on here. He's about to breathe on your education.

He's about to breathe on you. When he breathes, there is life. The Bible says Genesis 2:7, the Lord formed man from the dust of the ground. Then he breathed into his nostrils and man became a living soul. John 20:22, this is Jesus talking. He said after he talked to them about what was about to happen, the Bible say he breathed on them and said to them, "Receive ye the Holy Ghost."

Now I like this one. Ezekiel 37:7, this is Ezekiel talking. He said, "So I prophesied as I was commanded." Good God. He said, "And as I was prophesying, there was a noise. Woo! A rattling sound, and the bones came together, bone to bone. I looked and tendons and flesh appeared on them and skin covered them.

Watch this. But there was no breath >> in them." Then God said to me, "Prophesy to the breath." Prophesy, son of man, and say to it. This is what the sovereign Lord says. I'm getting excited. Come breath from the four winds and breathe into these slain that they may live.

So I prophesied as he commanded me. And breath entered them. They came to life and stood up on their feet a vast army. And the Lord told me to tell you, don't be satisfied and content when things start coming together. >> I need you to lean in. I need you to lean in.

Some of us have been getting too excited because stuff started coming together and we like, "Oh, God. Thank you, Lord. It's coming together. My business plan is coming. What good is a business plan coming together if we don't breathe on it?" What good is a marriage? I know your gown is cute and you got your cake and you got your Cabo, Mexico, honeymoon, but what good is all of that if he don't breathe on it?

I don't just need things that come together and get connected in my life. I need the breath of God because where there is breath, there is life. And where there is breath, there is power. And God says the reason why our nation is dying and divided, I want you to hear me.

It's not the government fault. It's the church fault. >> Is because the church is breathless. ((music playing)) >> We've been content. We're guilty of being content for coming together. >> We We've been praising God for the miracle of buildings, ladies and gentlemen. That's just bones. We've been praising God for attendance.

That's just flesh. But we're so addicted to Planning Center. We're so addicted for those who don't know that it's programming. We're so addicted to programs and production. And we're so addicted to our AB selection and oh, we got to be just like this and we got to hit it just on the clock and we got to people got to get to their tea time.

And we're so committed to systems that we have sacrificed spirit. And God is saying, "I wish there were some people who would be passionate about me so much that you'll get outside of your comfort zone so you can receive the breath of God." This is why we come to church week after week and we're celebrating the fact that we're coming together, but there's no breath. >> How do you know, Travis?

Because there are great people who love God and are dying >> here, here, here, around you, >> going through the motions with the form of godliness, but not in the power. when he breathes dead things raised to life. The Bible says in 2 Timothy 3:16 that all scripture, please hear this for all of you guys who are trying to deconstruct and try to rewrite the Bible.

The Bible says that all scripture is God breathed and useful. It's God breathed. Don't miss this. It's God breathed meaning that it has power and it has life and the devil knows it. So, he has been on an agenda, a satanic agenda to attack the word of God because he knows if you get the word of God that you'll get power on the inside of you.

But not only that, not only is it unity and a sound, we're almost done. But the Bible says speaks of fire. That's what you need for revival. Revival is just resuscitation. It's dead things coming back to life. That's what revival is. Verse three. And then there appeared to them divided tongues as of fire. and one sat upon each of them.

I love that the Bible says one sat upon each of them. I was praying and the Lord said, "Travis, a corporate move of God is just an overflow of individual moves of God." >> Did you hear what I just said? >> A corporate move of God is the overflow of individual moves of God.

And the problem why churches aren't experiencing moves of God is because we got people who bring in their bodies but not bringing their fire. B Y O F. Bring your own fire. >> No, for real, for real, for real. Listen, I'm not saying this to intimidate you or talk down to you.

I want you to keep coming back. We're all in different places in our journey. I'm cool with that. But if you've been coming here for more than a year, >> this is a rebuke. How long are you going to come in dragging him? Just I barely made it in another Sunday.

Really? I thought that the same power that got him up is in you. Had there not been one sermon, one revival night, one engaged culture, one move of God that hadn't stirred something on the inside of you or you said, "I don't need a worship team. I'm bringing my own fire."

If I walk in and nobody on the stage, I brought my own fire. If the sound system go out, I brought my own fire. If it's chilly outside, I brought my own fire. I didn't come here just cuz I need something from you. I came because I needed something from God, and I brought my own fire.

Are there any people who brought your own fire? Who said, "I've been fending a flame all week. I will enter his gates with thanksgiving in my heart. I will enter his court with praise. I brought my own fire." ((applause)) That's it. Praise him. Praise him. Praise him. I brought my own fire.

Jeremiah said it's like fire shut up in my bones. ((applause)) ((music playing)) When I was a worship leader, when I was a worship leader, I used to tell my team, I used to tell them, "Hey, man, y'all quit coming here on Sunday mornings waiting on me to warm you up." >> Cuz they used to come, they used to come walking in and they want to do drills.

Me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me. I'm like, "No. Do you not have a shower with steam in it? Did you not drive 15 minutes to get here? You should be warmed up when you came here. Well, ladies and gentlemen, I'm a retired worship leader.

Now I'm a pastor. Can I tell you something? You should be warmed up when you came here. You don't need a worship team. You don't need a favorite song. You don't need chill bumps or a moment. The whole time you was up out of your clothes this morning worshiping him.

You went to bed worshiping him. You woke up worshiping him. You got the kids ready worshiping him. I came with my own fire. I need people who pack in your own fire to take 10 seconds and give your God ((applause)) I got my own fire. I don't need nobody to lay hands on me.

I'll lay hands on the sick and they shall recover. I'll prophesy myself. I'll preach to myself. I brought my own. ((music playing)) We're done. I just felt that. You got 10 seconds. Lift your voice. Lift your voice and praise them. I just heard the Lord say, "I'm giving you your fire back.

I'm giving you your fire back. You've been through hell. You've been through high water. But no weapon, hey, no weapon formed against you will prosper. Give God before you. I find five people tell them about I got my fire back. I got my fire back. I got my fire back.

((music playing)) ((applause)) V the flame. V the flame. V the flame. And listen to me, mama. Your children are counting on you to fan the flame. Listen to me, husband. Your wife is counting on you to fan the flame. She shouldn't be getting you together saying, "Let's pray." You can say, "Woman, we're going to pray our way through this."

I know we in hard times, but we're going to pray our way through this. And I ain't talking about now I lay me down to sleep. I'm talking about grabbing horn to the horns of the altar until fire fall again. ((music playing)) ((applause)) ((music playing)) Your co-workers ((applause)) need fire. Your classmates need fire.

((applause)) But I can't give ((applause)) ((music playing)) ((applause)) what I don't have. Lastly, and we're out. Everyone standing. Not only does revival require unity, a sound and fire, the Bible says that he gave them a new language. >> Acts chapter 2 verse 4. And they were filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other tongues as the spirit gave them utterance, gave them a new language.

Here at this church, we believe in speaking in tonesues. But as I was praying, the Lord said, "Travis, I don't want you to put emphasis on people speaking in tonesues. I want you to put emphasis on people getting a kingdom language before they get a heavenly language." Hear me?

Because what good is when I come to church But the moment I leave, I'm gossiping. >> What good is? >> But I'm spewing out hatred. >> No, no, no, no. Before you learn how to speak in tongues, you need to learn how to apologize to somebody. >> Come here.

Come here. Come here. Come here. Sometimes I'm sorry is a lot more powerful than all that other stuff. >> And I'm an advocate. I'm a I'm a promoter of speaking in tongues. But God says, "Yo, I want to actually change that language." Iman said it earlier in Jeremiah 1:9.

I love this. Says, "The Lord reached out his hand and touched my mouth." He says, "I put my words in your mouth. I tell you what disturbed me this past week, ladies and gentlemen, that there was so many believers who did not sound like Jesus. >> And I'm wondering why why aren't there enough people who sound like Jesus?

God says, cuz they're using their words and not my words, and they can't give what they don't have. People ask me all the time, "How do I know when God's speaking to me?" You know, here's two re two ways, very practically. You know when God's speaking to you when your flesh don't want to hear it.

The devil will never tell you to tithe. ((applause)) The devil would never tell you go ahead and do it. You going the devil. No, that is the devil. God would never tell you go ahead and do it. I'mma forgive you later. >> One way that I know it's God is when my flesh be like I don't want to do that.

Another way that I know it's God is because what God is saying sounds like what he said. >> Fall back in love with the word of God. >> So that you have something to give. Peter and John has something much more valuable than money. Ladies and gentlemen, >> they didn't carry wallets.

They carried revival. >> They didn't carry guns and weapons. They carried power. Power. And this world, please hear me, is desperate for a move of God. They don't need religion. They don't need tradition. They don't need antics. They don't need a form of godliness. They need power. I end with this 2 Chronicles 7:14.

Yes, sir. >> And I found this translation. I memorized the New King James Version in the NIV, but this translation stood out to me this week. It says this. If my people who are called by my name would put away their pride. That's what it means to humble yourself.

Put away your pride and pray. Seek my face. Look for my face. Turn from their wicked. Turn from their sinful ways. Then I'll hear from heaven. I'll hear them. I'll forgive their sin and I'll heal their land. The way we're going to get revival, ladies and gentlemen, is when we get unified.

When we lay our pride, our preference, our egos >> down. Some of us are more committed to a political party than we are to the kingdom of God. >> And we need to repent. You hear me? >> We need to repent and say, "God, clean my hands. purify my heart.

Do a new thing in me so that I have something to give. Lift your hands where you are. Lord Jesus, I thank you. I thank you that we didn't just come to church. Lord, I thank you that we stepped into a move of God. Thank you for your Holy Ghost.

Thank you for your presence. Thank you for your power. We give you glory for it in Jesus name. Amen. What a move. Listen, I know this has been a crazy week here in America, especially wherever you're watching from around the world, know that you have a God who loves you.

Hope, the answer, the peace, the joy, all has the same name. And his name is Jesus. And he's here for you today. That hadn't changed. He is the hope of the world. He is the answer today for your heart, for your life. If you're lost from him, I want you to repeat me in this prayer.

Lord Jesus, I believe you died on the cross for my sins. And I believe that you got up so I don't have to stay down. I receive you today as my Lord and my Savior. Because of you, I am changed. I'm different in Jesus name. Amen. Do me a favor, like, subscribe, share.
