I'm Carrying A Move | Pastor Travis Greene | Forward City Church
Transcript
Hey family, thank you so much for tuning in to this week's message. I don't know if be on YouTube or podcast, but I'm just grateful that you're watching or listening. Um, this week I preached a message called I'm Carrying a Move. Came from 2 Samuel chapter 6 where we see this uh episode that happens with Oza as they are guiding the ark of the covenant on a new cart.
And we learn from this that you shouldn't be ahead of his presence. You shouldn't be behind trying to drive his presence. But the safest place is to be under the presence of God. literally to be a carrier of what he's doing in your life. And I believe this week's message is going to help change your life.
Make sure you tune in. Uh lean in, open your Bible, get ready for my word of God. And also like, subscribe, and share. I'll see you at the end of the message. 2 Samuel chapter 6. We're going to start at the third verse. This is a a passage that I fell madly in love with in my 20s.
For about now about 20 years, I've been just loving this this scripture because there's so much depth into it. And I'm going um I'm going to share a little bit with you today as we continue our conversation about the Holy Ghost. And this is what the Bible says in verse three.
They set the ark of God on a new cart. Brought it from the house of Abenadab which was on the hill. Oza and Ayo, sons of Abenadab, were guiding the new cart with the ark of God on it. And Ayo was walking in front of it. David and all of Israel were celebrating with all their might.
Can you imagine they turning up y'all? Before the Lord with castinets, I don't even know what that is. Harps, liars, timberalss, cyrums, and symbols. When they came to the threshing floor, threshing floor, ladies and gentlemen, historically is a place of separation. It's where they would throw the weed up in the air and allow the air to separate the wheat from the chaff.
And whenever God brings you to the threshing floor, you'll find this over and over over in the scripture. It's a place of separation. It's a place of exposure. The Bible says they get to the threshing floor and it's at the threshing floor of Nikon that Oza reached out and took hold of the ark of God because the oxen stumbled.
Man, the Lord's anger burned against Oza because of his irreverent act. Therefore, God struck him down. Uh-oh. And he died there beside the presence of God, beside the ark of God. Verse 11, this is three months later, the Bible says the ark of the Lord remained in the house of Oed Edom to get tight for three months and the Lord blessed him and his entire household.
Now, King David was told, "The Lord has blessed the household of Oed Edom and everything he has because of the ark of God. Because wherever the presence of God is, provision is, protection is." So, David went up, the Bible says, to bring up the ark of God from the house of Oeddom to the city of David with rejoicing.
We'll pause right there. Lord, Jesus, I ask for you to breathe in this room. you're already here. Uh I think you think you like it. Your Bible says you like it when we rejoice and when we praise you, when we lift you, when we use the activity of our limbs to demonstrate your worth.
Yes, God. >> So we dare not be louder for the Gamecocks than we are for God. >> Yes, sir. >> We dare not be louder than the losing Cowboys than we are for ((music playing)) God. a team that hadn't even been in the Super Bowl in 30 years. And yet some of us that get in front of our TV today and scream louder than we do here at Two Knots.
Forgive us, dear Lord. We turn our attention to you and do what only you can. Touch us here in this room and touch those watching in Maryland and in Charlotte and in St. Clair Shores and Allenale, South Carolina, and Scottdale, Arizona. allow your spirit to be with them as well in Jesus name.
Amen. Hey, it's our tradition before you sit down, Simon says, stay on your feet for one more second. It's our tradition here to give the name of the message to three people, at least three people on your way down. And it's simply called today, I'm carrying a move.
Do me a favor. Tell that three people, I'm carrying a move. I'm carrying a move. I'm carrying a move. If you're excited for the word of God, give him a good praise. Come on. Hey, thank you for coming to church today. Thank you for watching online. It means a lot to me.
And I am I'm a church boy through and through. I was born in this thing 1984. I don't I think man I was still I would I was fresh out the womb and I was still in church. My mom was pregnant with me playing the drums. That's how churchy I am.
This is a true story, ladies and gentlemen. And um I love nothing more than a pure move of God. I love the move. Don't you just love being in a move of God? I love it more than entertainment. I love it more than vacation. I love it more than than being being uh the enemy, you know, dangling in front of me advertising luxury or or different.
I love it more than anything this world has to offer. I've been all over the world. I've been to the White House. I've been in NBA locker rooms. I've been in NFL skyboxes. I've been to dinner with billionaires. Literally, God has blessed me to go all over the world.
And there's nothing in this world, let me be the one to tell you, that can that can compare to being in a move of God. I'm talking about in a move, an undeniable move of God, ladies and gentlemen. I I am obsessed with the presence of God. I'm so obsessed with the presence of God, I get on people nerves sometime cuz on revival night, I don't be in no recept.
Anybody ever been to revival night? >> See, that's your problem right there. You ain't come to revival night. Some of y'all like, "What's revival night?" Every first Friday, we gather in this building at 700 p.m. and we tear it up like a club. We ain't in no rush.
God moves. the Holy Ghost do something new every first. Mark your calendar right now. If you if you got a Apple phone, you can literally go to your calendar and put on recurring every first Friday. If you got an Android, just try to remember that every first Friday we have revival night.
I am obsessed with the presence of God. In Psalm 122, I feel David when he said, "I was glad when they said unto me, let us go into the house of the Lord." I wasn't mad. I wasn't sad. I was glad. I couldn't wait to get up this morning and come to church.
David also said in chapter 27 or Psalm, he says, "One thing I have desired, and that which I'll seek after, not a lottery ticket, not a vacation, not a upgrade." He said, "I'm seeking after the one thing to dwell, to live, to inhabit, to be in the presence of God all the days of my life.
I want to be in his house." Ladies and gentlemen, there is no place like the presence of God. And I love nothing more than being in a move of God. As a matter of fact, I'm so obsessed I even enjoy watching a move of God. >> Sometimes it's true.
I get on YouTube and watch old church. >> I'm talking about Bishop G. E. Patterson. Y'all don't know nothing about that. >> I'm talking about Billy Graham. I'm talking about Rod Parsley. I'm talking about Juanita Bayham. I'm talking about Titty Jakes when he still had hair. I'm talking about old school church.
Every now and then I want old school. Every now and then I like listening to preachers that ain't got it all together. They ain't super polished. They fumble over some of their words, but they demonstrate the power of the Holy Ghost. I am obsessed with his presence. I love watching people get saved.
I love watching the bound get free. I love watching the sick get healed. I love being in a move of God and I love watching a move of God. But the Lord told me something on the plane yesterday. He says, "Travis, you can be in a move and you can watch a move, but I want to expand you to where you start to carry a move." >> Travis, what does it look like when I carry a move?
When I carry a move of God, my God, everywhere I show up, he show up. That means that everywhere he shows up, freedom happens on my job. People in the next cubicle start crying. Don't even know why. They say, "What's wrong with me? Let me explain what's happening to you, my friend.
I brought the presence of God up in here with me. When I show up, he shows up. That looks like hospitals hate seeing me come cuz somebody might just got out of their bed. That means even when I do prison ministry, somebody's sentence might get cut down because wherever I am, he is.
And wherever he is, freedom. Do you hear the words that are coming out of my mouth? God is looking for some move carriers. Some people that show up with the power of the Holy Ghost. Some people that show up to your family reunion not for your auntie's favorite banana pudding, but you came to lay hands on your crackhead uncle and tell him, "I got a word from God for you."
I got to tell you something that happened to me. This is a true story, ladies and gentlemen. About 35 years ago, I went to North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. My grandma was standing on the porch smoking a cigarette. I looked at I said, "Grandma, you smoke another cigarette.
You're going to die." I walked away. My grandma stopped smoking a cigarette. She ain't never smoke another cigarette until she died last year. What I'm tell I've been carrying a move all my life. Can I tell you something? You ain't got to be a preacher to carry a move.
You Oh, you ain't got to know theology, Greek and Hebrew, to carry a move. All you got to do is every now and then, but hopefully every day, stop and stay on your knees just for a little while, and say, "God, fill me once again. Lord, fill me once again.
Here's my cup. Fill it up so that I can carry a move." Ladies, this generation is desperate for a move. Gentlemen, this generation is desperate for a move. >> Yes, sir. >> A move of God. >> A move of God. Why have we become satisfied >> with being in a move? >> Become satisfied?
Oh, you got to come to church cuz that worship team is amazing. Watching a move, >> but not being mobilized to carry a move. >> Oh no, y'all don't like this. Y'all don't like this. Y'all don't like this. Do you know that when you stand before God with his eyes like fire, hair like wool, PT can't stand with you.
He going to say, "What did you do with what I put on the inside of you?" You were supposed to bring revival to that dormatory. You were supposed to bring revival to that office. You were supposed to bring revival to that family, but you were too stuck in your offense and stuck in your ways to take that responsibility to start being a move carrier.
Look, do me a favor. Look at somebody and tell them, "I'm carrying a move. >> I'm carrying a move." >> Before I get ahead of myself, cuz I feel like preaching a little bit. >> But before I get ahead of myself, there's some people who missed church last Sunday.
Wave at me so I can embarrass you. Look at you. Look. >> Last Sunday I preached a message called I can't give but I don't have. So before I jump into the text of 2 Samuel. Let's backtrack a little bit to Acts. Because in Acts last week we talked about what happened in chapter 3.
In chapter 3 of Acts there's two gentlemen by the name of Peter and John. And the Bible says at 3:00 they're headed to prayer in the temple. But to get to prayer, they have to pass the temple gate. And when they pass the temple gate, there's a man.
We're going to read it together. Now, a man who was lame from birth was being carried to the temple gate called beautiful where he was put >> to beg from those going into the temple courts. They're walking and they pass this man who was being uhoh carried >> to the temple.
And it wasn't until this weekend that I reread it cuz sometime I like to just reread it. God said, "You can't just read the Bible. You got to >> read the Bible. It's the second read for me. He said, "You got to read it." I looked again, said, "Carried."
I said, "Wait a minute. That means that somebody >> was willing every day >> to carry this man to the temple." >> And because I couldn't find this answer in the Bible, I went to another very reliable source, Chad Chad GBT. I said, "Chad, how far was this walk?"
Chad said, "I don't know." I said, "Try real hard, Chad, cuz I want to tell the people." Chad said, "Well, back then, you know, like you gave me a bunch of information, you know, before you even got to the gate, there was an outcourse of the Gentiles and that was a distance."
And then Chad, shut up. How long was the walk? Chad said, "I don't know, but it could have been anywhere from a/4 mile to a full mile. Let's just say it was half a mile. >> That's a long way to walk by yourself. >> That's even longer carrying somebody. >> When I met my wife, me and her, we're the skinniest people at our wedding. >> Combined, we weighed 150 lbs.
I met her, she was 19 years old, just a little feeble thing, but that's about 20 years ago. And sometimes she want to remind us of our good old days when we was younger. And she'll say, "Pick me up like you used to." And I said, "Child, ((applause)) my back can't do what I used to do."
Like, "Carry me upstairs." I was like, "We're not going to make it past step number three. I can't I can't even carry my child for half a mile. Someone maybe multiple people were willing to carry this man >> to the place of healing. >> And like you, I've always put the emphasis on the words of Peter, silver and gold have I none, but s I have I give to you.
And God says that's not actually where the healing started. >> The healing started that someone was selfless enough. question. When's the last time you carried somebody to see Jesus? >> When's the last time you carried somebody to the presence of God? Come on. When's the last time you carried somebody?
And I'm not just talking about physically cuz sometimes people weigh more emotionally than they do spiritually. How many When was the last time you were willing to carry somebody emotionally? Carry them in the spirit. Get on your face and fast. Not just for you and your children, but even for your haters.
Come on, lean in. Lean in. When was the last time you were willing to pray and ask God to cover and protect? As a matter of fact, you're looking at me bougie right now cuz you forgot. The only reason you in church today are tuning online is because somebody carried you.
Come on here. When you were carrying sin, they carried you. When you were carrying filth, they carried you. How did it look, Travis? It looked like them getting on their knees and saying, "God, protect my baby. Keep him covered under danger seen and unseen." My mama used to anoint us before we went to the club.
I don't even know how that worked. But even when bullets were flying, I was covered. She was carrying me in the spirit. And I'm looking for 50 people in a 12-year-old that says, "You know what? I'mma get outside of my comfort zone. And I'mma come carrying somebody else.
I'm not just going to drag myself to church for me. Pull up just to get what I can get. But I'm looking for somebody to carry, carry, carry, carry, carry." Because the church is not just for the healthy, it's for the broken. Yes. >> And some people may need your strength until they're strong enough to stand on their own. >> And I'm so sick of these churches being more judgmental than they are being cognitive of the fact that some people have to be carried, wounded and carried, confused and carried, angry and carried, same-sex attractions and carried.
There are some people in this world that been through some stuff that would have took you out. And before you have judgment for them, how about you have enough compassion to carry and lift them up? Before you tell her to get a longer skirt, how about you carry her to Chick-fil-A and teach her how to be a lady?
Before you tell him to pull his pants up, how about you carry him and start discipling people instead of judging people. ((music playing)) ((applause)) >> In Mark chapter 2, there was another lame man and it took four of his friends to carry him to see Jesus. The Bible says they tried and the house was so full.
So they broke through the roof. Can you imagine that? Can you imagine this church being full and somebody said, "I ain't going to overflow." And they climb. You just sitting there and debris and dust start falling and they lowered the man on a mat. So those type of friends I want.
I feel something. I want the friends that when I fall and something happened to me, they're not going to look at me and say, "That's what you get. I told you to break up with her. That's what you get. I told you not to go back there. That's I need some friends that say you messed up, but I'mma carry you back to see Jesus.
I'mma carry you. I know you don't feel like coming to church. I'mma come knock on your apartment door. You waking up today. I'm carrying you until you get your breakthrough." Cuz carrying a sign of carrying. We got to move. The Lord said, Travis, the reason my saints ain't carrying people is cuz their hands too full. >> Full of offense, full of full of worry, full of full of bitterness, full of here we go, your own agenda. >> And this is why I feel something.
This is why I worship >> because although my hands go up, I'm laying something down. And I'm saying, God, empty me again. Come on here. Purify me again. Purge me, God. Whatever is in me, whatever I'm carrying, I want to lay it down. This is why the writer wrote in Hebrews to lay aside every weight and sin.
Sometimes sin and your problem is weight that you've been carrying. Well, you're supposed to be carrying someone else. Can we move? The Bible says every day, every day, every day. >> You know what every day mean in the Hebrew, Hebrew, and Greek? Every >> day. that How many of y'all I'm not going to Yeah, >> cuz y'all y'all don't get embarrassed at this church.
Y'all cool. How many of y'all caught a ride to church today? You caught a ride today. Hey, while your hand is up, let me just say by this time next year, I prophesy a car in your life. You didn't hear what I just said. I said by this time next year, see, y'all ain't even Y'all don't know who I serve.
Y'all don't know who I work for. I said, "By this time next year, I pro I prophesy a car in your life." It's one thing to ask for a ride every day. >> It's another thing to say, "Come by my house and carry me." And this would happen every day.
And when I was reading this, the word every day jumped out at me. I'm just giving you last week. It jumped out at me because if Peter and John were going to 3:00 service prayer and clearly they would have passed this man to get through the gate before. >> And when I asked the book questions, God said, "I never told you that was their first time seeing them." >> That was just their first encounter after Acts chapter 2. >> Now, you may be wondering what happened in Acts chapter 2.
It was in Acts chapter 2 that the fulfillment of the prophecy he says, "In the last day, I'll pour out my spirit." Acts chapter 2, they were hanging out together. There's 120 of them. them. A lot of people would be in one person house. So, it must have been a big house.
But they was in an upstairs room hanging out having a house party. And the Lord turned the house party to a Holy Ghost party. The Bible says that they were gathered together on one accord. Let me give you four things that these guys were carrying to be able to meet the man who got carried.
Are you ready? Because you're carrying a move. First thing is unity. There must be one accord. The enemy when he wants to disrupt revival, he'll send division. Division is a natural habitat of the devil. He'll send division in your home. He'll send division in your workplace. He'll send division in your mind.
He'll try to have you a a divided mind where you don't know where you're coming or going. So, you got to have unity. Number two, the Bible says, Luke writes that there was a sound. It sounded like a rushing mighty wind. Notice he did not say it was a wind.
He said it sounded like a wind. I asked the Lord, "Why did it sound like a wind?" God said, "Cuz I was breathing in the room." And whenever God breathed in the room, dead things come to life. This is why Jesus breathed on the disciples in John 22 and said, "Receive ye the Holy Ghost."
This is why in Genesis 2, the Bible says he breathed into the nostrils of man and they became a living soul. This is why in Ezekiel 37, Ezekiel prophesied and the Bible says there was a rattling and bones started coming together and flesh came on the bones and God said don't be satisfied when things start coming together.
I need you to prophesy to the north, south, outheast, and west. Prophesy to the breath so I can feel what I brought together. Some of us come to church clapping our hands cuz God brought some stuff together. We used to be lifting your hands saying, "God, breathe on this.
Thank you for my marriage. Thank you for bringing us together, but breathe on this. Thank you for my business. Thank you for bringing it together. But breathe on this. Thank you for this church. Thank you for bringing it together. But breathe on this. And if you don't breathe, there won't be life and there won't be power.
Somebody say, "Yeah." But not only do you need unity, not only do you need breath, but the Bible says that tongues of fire >> fell on each one of them. Now, I like that cuz the Lord told me the reason why they was having a corporate move is because a corporate move is an overflow from individual moves. >> Watch me. >> The reason why you can go to churches all around this country and feel nothing is because it's full of people who brought nothing.
((applause)) ((music playing)) It's full of people who came because they enjoy watching a move. >> It's full of people who live like hell all week >> and that guilt brought them cuz they enjoy being in a move. >> Instead of people who fan the flame all week and said, "I brought my own fire."
So if the music is bad, I still brought something. Oh my god. If the power go out, I still brought something. That's why I like going to Africa. Some of them rooms be hot. If we ain't got no AC, I still brought something. Come on here. Is there anybody in this room that say, "I brought my own fire.
I brought my own passion. I brought my own praise." And a matter of fact, do me a favor real quick. Do me a f Everybody sit down real quick. Sit down real quick. I just want I This is all I need. I need one person from each row that say, "I got the fire for this row."
I need you to jump up. Where you at? I got the fire for this row. If nobody else praise him, watch me praise him. I got the fire for this row. If nobody else praise them, watch me. I brought the fire from as for me and my rope.
Somebody on this row going to get a breakthrough. Somebody on this row going to get a miracle. I brought my own fire. ((music playing)) ((applause)) 10 seconds for the fire carriers. I didn't wait till I came to church. I've been with God. Monday, I was praying on Tuesday. I laid before him.
On Wednesday, I fasted on Thursday. When I woke up this morning, I entered this gate with thanksgiving in my heart. I brought my own fire individual sons of fire. And lastly, the Bible says, the Bible says, not only were they carrying unity and carrying the breath and carrying fire, >> but they were carrying a new language.
The Lord said that all of them, all 120 started speaking in other languages. There are many interpretations of this. And Paul writes about speaking in tonesues later in the Bible. And at this church, we believe in the full expression of the Holy Spirit. We believe in speaking in tonesues.
We believe in prophesying. We believe in people receiving the power of God and we're not weird and strange about it. We just believe in the whole Bible. I'm not just going to believe Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, that said that a virgin had a baby boy and he came and saved the if I can believe that that he rose himself up from the dead.
Why wouldn't I believe the next book, Acts, that said because he got up and went up, I got power. Why am I walking around powerless just because somebody on TV made it look weird? No. I want everything God has for me. If it's powerful, I want it. If it's healing, I want it.
If it's breakthrough, I want it. If it's deliverance, I want it. The Bible says, watch this. They had a new language. >> But what good >> is a heavenly language? What good is it speaking in tongues >> when you gossip in your native tongue? ((music playing)) >> What good is it coming in here and ah, I got a praise?
And the moment you walk out, I'm going to cut you out. Which one is it? >> Oh, y'all don't like that. Y'all don't like that. Y'all don't like it. Y'all don't like it. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. God said, I gave him a new language.
I put my words in his mouth and and really appreciate what's happening in this text in Acts chapter 3 where they're carrying a move of God to a man that had been carried. You got to go back thousands of years ago where it was prophesied that they would be able to do this because we're so fancy now.
We don't really appreciate what they had to go through in the back in the day. And I ain't talking about in the 60s. I ain't even talking about in 1800s. I'm talking about BC. What they had to do before Christ ever got there. Do you know there were multiple generations that had to worship God without knowing the name Jesus?
((applause)) He would reveal himself over time, my God. He revealed Jehovah Gyra. Oh, we can call you that. >> He revealed himself as Jehovah Rafa. We can call you that. Jehovah Sikanu, we can call you that. Jehovah Mech, we can call you that. Adonai, we can call you that.
But not until the New Testament did they ever even get the name of Jesus. My God. And so these Israelites, watch God, these Israelites are in slavery without the name of Jesus. They're in slavery for 430 years, but God was still on the move. Oh my God. Can I just pause right here parathetically to insert this one thing?
I think it's going to help you. This is deep. Jesus wasn't born on Christmas. ((applause)) >> I just lost somebody. I was like, "Wait, ((applause)) no, that's just when he put on flesh. The Bible says in the beginning was the word. >> The word was with God. The word was God.
My God. Did you know Jesus was there all the time? This is why a pagan king looked in the fire with three Hebrew boys and said, "I see a fourth man and it looks like the son of God." Who was that? That was Jesus pre-incarnate. Jesus did not begin at Christmas, ladies and gentlemen.
That's just when he decided to put on flesh. Jesus was there at the beginning. And here are these people worshiping God, trusting God. And the Bible says 10 plagues are sent to Egypt, but none of them touch the people of God. >> They march. I got to speed up.
They march and they get to this dead end called the Red Sea. >> But how many people know you're never stuck when you're on the move with God? >> Did you hear what I just said? >> Even if he sends you to a stuck place, it has to be temporary because he's always on the move.
Amen. And so they keep marching. They march through dry land. And the Bible says there's a cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night. And that is their navigation system because when he moved, they move. When the cloud move, they move. Ladies and gentlemen, you can't pay me to move from under the cloud and move from under the fire.
I want to be where he is. I stay under the cloud because I've seen so many people get from under that cloud and get burnt and start fainting off from the faith. I see people get from under the fire and start cooling off and losing their mind. I got to stay where God is.
And the Bible says they move with God into the wilderness and their rebellion cost them the next move. >> So then the cloud moves over a mountain. He invites Moses to come up to give him a revelation. He gives him a revelation of the Ten Commandments. He gives him all these deep revelations.
And then he tells him, he said, "I want you to build me an ark." He says, "With this ark, I'm going to set my presence, my glory in between the cherubim that you built. And then I want to read something for you because this is very specific instruction.
In Exodus 25:3, throw it off for me. The Bible says this. Exodus 25. Wake up in the back. Verse 13. Okay, don't worry about it. The Bible says this. There make poles of acacia wood. There we go. Thank you. Wake up. There make poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold.
Insert the poles into the rings on the side of the ark. Watch this. This is very important. To >> carry it. Pause to remain in the rings of the ark. They're not to remove. Ladies and gentlemen, the error of other wasn't just the fact that he touched the ark. >> The error was that he was driving a new cart. >> They put the ark on a new cart and tried to guide it.
And how many know you can't control where the presence of God wants to go? Oh, we >> I just heard something in my spirit. >> The Bible says that the ox stumbled >> and the ark begin to fall. >> There are times in your life where God desires for his presence to fall where you stumble. >> And when you want to be in control so bad, you start saying, "Oh God, you can't move here.
Oh God, you can't move like that. Oh God, I'm not ready for your move. And Oza reached out his hand and tried to control where the presence of God was falling. And the problem was his brother Aio was in front of the ark, got in the ark, and God says, "Don't try to get in front of my presence."
Other was driving the new cart. He was behind the ark. God said, "Don't get behind my presence." The safest place for you to get is to stand up under my presence. But the reason people don't want to stand up under his presence is is because it's heavy. I went back to chat GBT and I said, "How heavy was the ark?"
The chat said the ark was made of occasion wood covered in gold. That's approximately 250 to 300 lb. >> Four priests, not bodybuilders, priests >> carrying this ark. >> So convenience made them build a new cart ((music playing)) ((applause)) >> because it was too heavy to seek God. Convenience told them to deconstruct what he said. >> And let's find an easier way. >> Convenience said, "Fasting from fool is old school.
I'm just going to fast in social media." >> Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Convenience. Convenience. Convenience. Convenience. Convenience. Convenience. Put him in error. And God said, "I I have raised you to stand up under my presence. It's supposed to be heavy." Come on. It's supposed to be inconvenient.
It's not supposed to be your preference. Obedience ain't supposed to feel good if it feel good not that in a sacrifice. It's not supposed to feel good to wake up early to pray. Come on here. It's not supposed to feel good to humble yourself and apologize. It's not supposed to feel good to tithe and to give an offering.
It's not supposed to feel good to show up early to serve the house of God. Convenience will get you out of the will of God. And so many people are falling from the faith because they're so wrapped up in conven I'm preaching good convenience. ((applause)) >> God told me he said it's time for the church to get spiritually fit >> here.
You is doing keto >> stabbing yourself with oimpic. And we care so much about our physical fitness. I told this to the last service and I don't mean to be offensive, but I remember back in the day you used to watch the infomercial. You was trying to watch football and they showed the little kids that was hungry and said, "Would you feed one?"
And you were like, "Man, dang, that's rough." And I thought about the church of America and if we had an infomercial for the church of America and heaven was watching us, they say, "Dang, that's rough." Anorexit malnourished. Oh my god. only eat one time a week. How would you look if you pulled up to a restaurant and only ate on Sundays?
That's how your spirit man look. And the devil is a master of distraction. He wants you to be glued to entertainment. He I got to finish this Netflix series. And you hadn't read not one book of the Bible in 10 years. Come on. I don't care. I don't care.
I don't care. I'm an influencer. I got to be on Tik Tok all day. And you hadn't read your scripture. You hadn't said no prayer other than now lay me down to sleep. You've been coming here for 3 years and you still ain't got no prayer life. Can you please give up your seat to somebody who hungry and desperate for the move of God?
We didn't come here to pacify you and give you milk. We came here so that you can get up under the weight. Grab your neighbor, pull them up, tell them it's time to get up under the weight. Come on, tell them it's time to get up under the weight.
It's time to get up under the weight so you can start carrying a move. Your family is desperate for you to get up under the weight. And it's time for the people of God to get spiritually fit. Spiritually fit. We spend all our energy. I'm done perfecting stuff that we can't take with us. >> My little cousin Norman here, you know, basketball team.
I'm sure those are to the teammates. They probably put up 500 to a,000 shots a day. >> Ain't no basketball in heaven. People flying. ((applause)) You think you going to dunk on an angel? You really think you're going to dunk on an angel? >> It's my favorite sport and I'm making fun.
But we spend all our time perfecting stuff that we can't take with us. Do you hear what I'm telling you? Oh, I'm Oh, you're not going to like this. I got to say it. Some of us have perfected parenting >> and your child has become your God. Come on, lean in.
Lean in. Lean in. I ain't scared of you. Lean in. leaning. I'm just going to be the best mama I can. I'm going to be the best daddy I can. And your children get all your time and God get none. And you don't know that you can only be optimized when you're in his presence.
Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Some of us, I'm just going to make all the money I can. And you're addicted to hustle and not holy. And now you wonder why the devil's playing mind games with you. It's because you haven't spent any time in the presence of God to get under the weight.
Idols don't look like they used to. >> The devil know you're not going to bow to a golden calf. So he'll get you to bow to Instagram. >> He know there's no way you're going to bow to a statue of a goddess so it get to the bow of pornography.
((applause)) And we have churches full of idol worshippers >> who wonder why it's so difficult to get in touch with God. >> It's because you've been bowing all week. I feel like preaching and I know we got to go, but I need 300 people in a 12-year-old to say, "No more bowing.
For God I live. For God I die." As a matter of fact, my God ain't even politics. I ain't leaning to the left. I ain't leaning to the right. I'm standing for holiness. For God, I live. And for God, I'll die. It's time to carry a move. I'm done.
Everybody standing, please. So I could be done for real. The Bible says, trust me, you're not going to want to leave. Give me five minutes. You're not going to want to leave. Something about to happen. Jesus. Look at somebody. Tell them something about to happen. Tell somebody else, "This is the moment I came for right here."
Tell I feel like something's about to happen. Let me read this scripture to you. The Bible says in 2 Samuel chapter 6 verse 13. When those who were carrying the ark of the Lord had taken six steps. One 2 3 4 5 six sacrificed a bull and a fattened calf. >> One in linen ephod.
David David was dancing before the Lord >> with all his might while he and all Israel were bringing up the ark of the Lord with shouts and the sounds of trumpets. >> Every six steps they paused and praised. ((music playing)) >> David said, "I've been here before and last time we didn't carry a move.
We tried to drive it." He says, "But now I'm not going to take the grace of God for granted." >> God said, "I had to crush you so you'll stop taking my grace for granted." >> Said, "This time, I'm not going to take it for granted. Every six steps, stop and praise." >> Chad told me that this would have been a 10mi journey from Oed Edom House to the city of David.
But if they in fact stopped every six steps, what could have took them four hours possibly took them a full week. >> This is why when David gets home, his wife Mel is looking out the window, the daughter of Saul and she say he's embarrassed himself. He's dancing out of his clothes doing all this in front of those slave girls.
And he looks up, he says, "Excuse me real quick. I will become >> even more undignified than this. You judging me cuz you think I just started praising when I got home. But every six steps I stopped them with praising God. I'm praising him on the way. And I'm looking for a church that I learn how to praise him on the way.
On the way to your miracle. On the way to your breakthrough. On the way to your healing. On the way to your wedding. On the way to the nursery. I'mma praise him on the way to the promise because I'm carrying a move of God. God woke me up.
True story at 3:06 a.m. wide awake. I said, "Come on, Lord." I said, "You get in the habit of doing this now." So, I prayed for an hour and a half and I was like, "God, please just let me just get another hour of sleep. Would you?" This was good, God.
We did. Yes. And the Lord spoke to me and I wrote it on my phone. He said, "Travis, I need you to tell them one thing that happened to Paul and Silas. Remind them that it was the magistrates and the officials and the slave girl owners that put Paul and Silas.
They moved them into the inner cell of a prison." And God says, "Sometimes the enemy may move you places, >> but the enemy can't stop the move in you." Did you hear what I just said? As long as you have a move in you, they can move you off that job, but I got a move in me.
My God. They can move me out of that relationship, but I got a move in me. So, wherever I am, he is. And wherever he is, freedom is. Ladies and gentlemen, we about to do something real quick. We're going to tell the whole church up and then we're going home.
We're going to do something. Some of y'all, this going to be the most exercise you do all day. We're going to take six steps. And every six steps, we're going to give God a praise. Are you ready? I said, "Are you ready?" Some of y'all need to get in the aisle.
Some of y'all can do it in place. Some of y'all can get up front, but every six steps, we're going to give God a praise. You ready? Y'all ready? Worship team. >> Y'all ready? >> I said, "Are y'all ready?" >> Yes, sir. >> Let's praise him. Let's do it. 1 2 3 4 5 6 Everybody praise him. something.
I don't care who there is. >> Lift up. Lift up. 1 2 3 4 5 6. Everybody praise him. >> God, I feel so free. I don't care. >> I feel something. I feel something. I feel something. 1 2 3 4 5 6. >> Everybody praise him. >> I think God feels so free.
It's amazing. >> I don't care who I'm praising. >> We get spiritually fit. We get spiritually fit. 1 2 3 4 5 6 Everybody praise. God, I feel so free. It's amazing when I pray. Yeah. >> Clap your hands. When the ark comes back. When the ark comes back to the city.
When the ark comes back to the street. Come on. When the ark comes back to the city. We're going to dance like David. There's lyrics. When the ark comes back to the city. When the ark comes back to the earth comes back. >> When the ark comes back to the city one more time. >> When the ark When the ark comes back to the city.
When the ark comes back to the street. When the comes back to the city. >> I feel one more step. I feel one more step. I feel >> 1 2 3 4 5 6. Everybody pray. Hey, I'm going to praise you. I'm going to I'm going to praise you.
I'm going to praise you. Clap clap clap. Clap. I'm glad to praise you. ((music playing)) ((applause)) Hey. Hey. ((music playing)) Lace up your boots. Tell them >> put on your backpack. It's time to ride. >> We got somewhere to go. >> It's time to ride. >> Carrying a move. Lights off your >> carrying a move. >> Put on your backpack. >> Carrying a move. >> It's time to ride. >> Carrying a move. >> One more time.
Lace up your boots. >> Lace up your boots. Put on your ((music playing)) can't contain it. I can't contain it. Got to feel so free. It's amazing. I don't care who got to praise it. There is never jump. >> I can't go. I feel so free. It's amazing. I don't care who I ((music playing)) come back.
When the ark comes back to the city. When the art comes back to When the Ark comes back to the city. We're going to head back. >> When the ark comes back to the city. Yeah. Yeah. >> When the comes back to the city. >> When the comes back to the city, we're going to lift your hand.
