Identity Transformation: Being Who God Says I am - Wednesday Morning Service
Transcript
Oh, Father, we come before you today and we are thankful for all that you have done for us. Thank you, Father, for bringing us to a day that we've never seen before. >> But, Father, you've seen it from the sights of eternity. And Father, we thank you that this is the day that you've made.
Yes, >> we will rejoice >> and be glad in it >> because God, your purpose for us is a good purpose. >> We thank you, Lord, that your plans for us are good plans. >> And Father, right now, we yield ourselves to you, to your spirit, that you would minister unto us today.
We declare no flesh will be glorified, but all things will be done by your spirit. We declare that we are good ground and that the seed of your word will take root, bring forth fruit that is pleasing and acceptable unto you. We give you thanks. We give you praise in Jesus name.
And everybody said amen. >> Amen. >> Amen. Hallelujah. Well, God bless you guys. Yes. Always good to be in the house of the Lord. God bless you all. You all may be seated. Amen. Well, uh, it is a glorious Wednesday morning >> and, uh, we're thankful to the Lord for all that he's done for us and bringing us even to this day, to this time because we have come through many dangers, toils, and snares.
We have already come. Uh, for many of us really, the Lord has brought us through a lot. Uh I know personally I've I've um you know encountered a lot of friends and unfortunately I do see a lot but uh have who've gone on to be with the Lord here recently and um you know it's important that we keep our eyes on Jesus.
It's important that we stay focused and realize that um though we are here on this earth, our occupation here on this earth is a temporal occupation. We are only occupying for a minute here on this earth because this world is not our home. Amen. Heaven is our home and we focus on that and we can find joy in that and uh of course I want to start off by uh honoring our pastors Dr.
Dollar and Pastor Taffy and all that they've done for us and have been doing for us and in teaching us uh the uncompromised word of God. Uh I I think back on uh Dr. and pastor Taffy's focus on the grace of God and we know that we are a ministry of grace and as we talk about grace we always have to keep Jesus at at the forefront and sometimes you know there's you can get caught up in what I call default mode uh you know you have learned a particular way uh to view Jesus to speak of Jesus to think of Jesus and sometimes times that way becomes a default way because we've been in that old way for so long.
But now that we're coming into the new understanding and of course we've been teaching on grace for 15 plus years uh now but still uh you still have to make sure that your mind is being renewed to the new understanding of grace because if not you'll have the tendency kind of to uh default back uh in our conversation in our thinking in our action. will default back to not meaning not in a meaning way uh not meaning to but uh find ourselves kind of go back to the old way of thinking.
So we have to keep our minds uh renewed and and transformed. And the thing about even our minds being renewed is I believe uh I said this one time maybe about a month or so ago but I believe truly that our minds have already been renewed but we have to operate in the renewed mind.
Now what I mean by renewed is not so much just a matter of gaining knowledge which we have to you know as we as we gain knowledge we gain understanding we begin to operate in that understanding just like a child when you're born as a child you have limited understanding you be you begin to get more understanding you begin to get more understanding the older you get the more experiences that you have you get more understanding more understanding and you operate in certain things to the point now to where if you are now 20 years old and you're acting on the knowledge of a 2year-old, we begin to look at you funny because we're saying that's not adding up.
You're 20 years old, but you're acting like a two-year-old because the knowledge that you should have gained up to 20 should demonstrate something different than someone who's at two years old. But as we come up, we increase in knowledge, we increase in understanding, our minds are being renewed.
Um but the thing about renewed mind minus transformation is just knowledge that's gained. Renewed mind minus transformation is just knowledge that's gained. So you can look at the uh the atheist. The atheist may quote scriptures probably more proficiently than you might. So he has a knowledge. He has a mind that has gained the knowledge of the scriptures, what it says, where it's located, uh probably even some of the meaning.
However, he has not been transformed because he doesn't believe in it. Neither does he try to walk in it. So knowledge in and of itself as we know is not the primary thing. It is very necessary and that we need to get it because we want to know knowledge know we get the word know from knowledge.
We want to know God in a better way and in a better way uh uh and there's a better way of knowing him when we begin to have knowledge of him and understand him. All right. So now with that there's an identity that we have uh been birthed into.
There's an identity that we have actually uh that has been made available that we are actually to just come into this identity because we understand that it's not an identity that we're trying to form that we're trying to generate. It's an identity that is actually already made. This identity was made from the foundation of the world.
Now, excuse me. How do I know this identity was made from the foundation of the world? Well, the identity that that we have, go to Colossians 1:27. I like going there uh often just to kind of make this point. Colossians 1:27. This identity that we have has been a pre-ordained identity.
This has been an identity that God um wanted to get back to since the beginning of time. In the very beginning, we know that in the beginning, God created heavens and earth. God created all of these different things. He created certain things on day one, certain things on day two, certain things on day three, four, five.
Then he got to day six and he uh created man. On day six when he created man, we know how he created man. He took dust and he formed dust. But that's all man was was an image of dust. But then God put himself in man. And man then the dust became a living soul.
So without God putting himself in man, it was just going to be like a a statue that's just there with no life. God put life in the man. But when he put life in man, he also gave man an identity because he said, "Let us make man in our likeness, in our image."
That is now your identity. Your identity is my likeness. Your identity is my image. Your identity is not just that, but it's also my spirit. Because I made you in my likeness. I formed you in my likeness, in my image. But then I gave you me so that I can be expressed through this dust.
So then he gives us this image, this identity. And he said that, excuse me, God took man, he formed him out of the dust and then he was made in the image and the likeness of man. So, and then God put his spirit in him and from there man became a living soul.
But we understand the scriptures when he talks in um uh Genesis where he says don't eat of this tree for in the day that you eat thereof, what's going to happen? said in unison, >> you shall surely die. >> All right? Now, die had a two-fold meaning. It means that you're going to cease.
Your existence is going to cease. That's one thing. That's the death that we're kind of familiar with here on the earth. And that when we when we die, our physical existence ceases ceases. But he also meant separation. Death also means to separate from. So in the day that you eat thereof, you're going to separate from my spirit that I put on the inside of you.
And that's what that's what happened. And man then lost his identity at that time. He he ate of the tree. the the uh God said in the day that you eat thereof, you shall surely die. We know he didn't die right there in that quote 24-hour day. So, he wasn't talking about the physical death there, but in the day that you eat thereof, it's it messes with our relationship.
Now, we understand that in the book of Genesis. So from that time God made a statement also in the book of Genesis. Um you all remember where he said uh it was Genesis the 3rd chapter. I left my Bible. I am so sorry. How can a person come up here and preach and leave this Bible?
My lord. Anyway, I'm going to get you all there. You all remember in Genesis when uh when uh Abra not Abraham but uh Adam said it was the woman that you gave me. The woman said it was the snake and the snake didn't have a leg to stand on.
So then he dealt with he dealt with the snake because it went he first came to Adam. He said, "Adam, what have you done?" Adam point the blame to the woman. The woman said, "It wasn't me. It was a snake." So God was kind of going down the line.
And then it left with ended with the snake. But when he got to the snake, he said that the woman's seed meaning and talking about Christ, the woman's seed, serpent, you will bruise his heel, but he will bruise your head. Now, we know when you crush the head of a snake, he's gone, right?
That's how you kill a snake. You crush his head. Thank you, sir. Appreciate it. I want to try to give where these scriptures are as as I'm talking about them. Genesis the 3r chapter. Excuse me. And then it goes here. Um, yeah, Genesis 3rd chapter and thank you 14.
Curse shall there be. Okay, I will put 15. Okay. Genesis 3:15. He said in Genesis 3:15, where God was dealing with the snake, he says, "I will put enmity between you and the woman and between your seed and her seed. It shall bruise your head, but you will bruise his heel."
Now you'll go back and you'll study and that was prophetic of the seed of Jesus uh the seed of woman who was Jesus dealing with the satanic uh seed at that time and that's what happened. So Jesus he bruised Jesus's heel. In other words those were the stripes those were the lashes those were the beating that Jesus took for us.
Remember in Isaiah 53rd chapter, he was bruised for our iniquities. He was remember that. Uh okay. So, so there he bruised his heel, but Jesus crushed his head. Now that was important that that was going to be done because in that being done, God now was going to establish his position again in man and give man the opportunity to come back and operate in this identity.
So when God said, "But this is something that I planned all the way back in the in the in the uh Garden of Eden, but I'm going to hold it off until way later." All right. Now, let's go to Colossians, the third chapter. Excuse me. Colossians the first chapter and the 27th verse.
So he talks about this mystery that had been hidden. He says to whom God will make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery. In previous chapter it talked about the mystery. The riches of the glory of this mystery. Let's go back in verse 26 and just kind of lead up to this verse 26. even the mystery which has been hid from ages and from generations, but now it's made manifest to his saints.
So you all know that he's saying that this mystery has been hidden from ages and from generations and now it's made known unto his saints. Now next verse to whom God will make known now what is the riches of the glory of this mystery and it became very clear he describes to us what this mystery was.
Can you all tell me what the mystery was just from these scriptures? >> Say it like you know it. >> Thank you. So the mystery is what? Christ on the inside of us. That is the mystery that God hid for ages, for generations. Why did God hide it for ages and for generations?
Because there was an established time when Christ was supposed to come. Remember, he spoke about in Isaiah that uh uh he's going to be born of a virgin. uh you know these things are going to happen. His name is going to be called Emmanuel uh which means God with us.
All of these things were prophetically said all throughout the scriptures. That's why the Bible says lo in the volume of the books. Jesus said low in the volume of the books in all of these old test. It's talking about me. It's talking about me. So, it was talking about the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ or in other words, I'm coming to give you a new identity.
All right. Now, so let's go to uh 1 Corinthians the 2 chapter. 1 Corinthians 2. Praise the Lord. We're going to do some Bible study today. Okay. Is that all right? >> All right. Okay. So here in 1 Corinthians 2 and we'll read in the sixth verse 1 Corinthians 2:6 it says how be it we speak wisdom among them that are perfect or we speaking wisdom amongst them that are mature.
If I can find me some mature people, I can talk about this particular mystery. But there's an issue. I can't talk about this mystery if I'm dealing with immature people. So the question becomes, where are we in terms of hearing this message that he's about to talk about?
This this uh wisdom that he's about to talk about. How be it we speak wisdom among them that are perfect or them that are mature. Yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world that come to not. But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery.
There we are again. We speak the wisdom of God in a mystery. Now, when it says in a mystery, it's not talking about mysterious Houdini stuff. When it says mystery here, it's saying I'm speaking something that has been hidden. That's why it is a mystery. You don't know.
It's not It's not, you know, voodoo stuff. It's just something that hadn't been known. That's why it's a mystery. So, it hadn't been revealed. So he says, "But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the world unto our glory."
There we are again talking about the the wisdom that God ordained. And we just read that in Colossians. It it was from generations and from ages God ordained this mystery from that time. Now it said he did this unto our glory. All right, everybody's following me so far.
I know I'm going slow. I know I'm going methodical, but it's real important that we understand. So this mystery is real important because this mystery talks about our identity. This mystery talks about our identity. He says, "Which none of the princes of this world knew, they didn't know the mystery."
He said, "Now, for had they known it, what would have happened? They they wouldn't have killed Jesus if they knew about the mystery." So God had to keep it hidden because if it wasn't hidden, the princes of the world would not have touched Jesus. So can you see Jesus coming to fulfill his his uh his mission and won't nobody touch him?
Can you see Jesus coming? Remember he talked about he came to die to you know to save sinners and all that. Can you see that? If they knew the mystery, the the uh commandment from the devil would have been, "Whatever you do, don't touch that man." >> Whatever you do, do not kill him.
Whatever you do, don't put your hands on him. Because he kept that from them. and the devil carrying out his satanic nature, which is to steal, to kill, and to destroy. He couldn't help but to kill Jesus. >> So now he killed Jesus in his ignorance because he was ignorance means unaware.
He wasn't aware that in him killing Jesus, he was now going to give us a new identity. What's our new identity? It was hidden from the foundation of the world. Christ in you. >> So if I don't kill him, they don't get Christ in you. >> But we don't get Christ in you.
But if I kill him, then we get Christ in us. How do we get Christ in us? Jesus said in in John the 16th chapter and the 7th verse, I read this Sunday, but let's let's look at it again. How do we get Christ in us? See, you know, some sometimes we say things, but we don't understand literally how it happened.
We said Jesus is on the inside of us. Well, that's good. How did he get there? How did he get on the inside of us? When did he get on the inside of us? Well, he got on the inside of us when we accept him as Lord and Savior.
True. But how did he then become available to even be ready to go on the inside of you when you accept him as Lord and Savior? John 16 uh John 16, what did it say? 16:7. John 16:7. All right. Nevertheless, I tell you the truth. This is Jesus speaking to the disciples.
It is to your advantage for you that I go away. I gotta go away because me and the father have an agreement that if I go away from here, do what's been ordained for me to do and ascend to the father, he has agreed to send the promise of the comforter.
He says, "Nevertheless, I tell you the truth. It is expedient for you that I go away. For if I do not go away, the comforter will not come unto you. If I don't go away, if I don't die, if I'm not buried, if I'm not resurrected and raised up and go back to the father, the comforter, who is the comforter? >> The Holy Spirit won't come unto you.
But if I depart, I'll send him unto you. Remember I talked about the scripture that says that uh Jesus said the works I do shall you do and even greater works uh shall ye do because I go unto the father. Okay. Boy, y'all going to have to forgive me today.
I'm just kind of flowing in a mold here. But uh it'll it'll all make sense. It'll all make sense. Okay. Remember when Jesus made that statement, he said that, excuse me? Okay. He said, "For if I don't go away, the comforter will not come." Um, in John 14:12, John 14:12, let's go.
Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that believeth on me. The works that I do shall he do also, and greater works than deeds shall he do because I go unto my father. Now, of those who are born again, how many of us have read that scripture? Okay.
How many of us thought that man from that we're going to do greater works than Jesus? I mean initially I I know I did. I was like you said you said okay so we supposed to be doing greater works than Jesus. The works that I do you're going to do greater works than these because I go unto my father.
So I I read that and I was like okay how is it that I'm going to do greater works? I'm having trouble with a headache. You know what I'm saying? How how am I going to do greater works? Somebody asked me to pray for them. It seemed like they didn't get healed.
How am I going to do greater works when I'm It seemed like I'm struggling down here in in my own body. And so I'm supposed to do greater works? You mean you walked on water, you raised the dead? You know what I'm saying? You You turned water into wine.
I'm supposed to be doing greater works than that? Am I alone in that thought? Okay. I didn't think I was. So it's like, so what what does it mean greater works? So if you raised somebody from the dead, I guess I'm supposed to be able to raise somebody from the dead because you said greater.
If you, you know, um, you made somebody see, I guess I'm at least supposed to make somebody see because you said greater. Ah, okay. So when we look at this and talking about our identity, this is going to go back to it. So he said you're going to be able to do these things.
Why? Because giving you the reason why. Because I what? >> What did it say? What's the last part of that scripture up there? Because what? >> Because I go to the father. Okay. So, you look at that and you're like, "So, I'm going to be able to do these super duper works because you go to the father."
So, you are sending to the father. And he just read, we just read in John 16:7. Nevertheless, it's expedient for you that I go unto the father. Why? Because one of the reasons why is that you're going to find that you're able to do things that you were not able to do in and of yourself because you now got this new identity because you're a peculiar person.
You're a holy priesthood. You're a royal nation. You're different. New identity. All right. Because I go unto the father. So now Jesus went unto the father. When Jesus went unto the father, did he send the holy ghost? >> Okay. Jesus sent the holy ghost. Now that the Holy Ghost is here, when we accept Jesus as Lord and Savior, he says, "Hey, I will come in and I will suck with you or I will be with you.
Uh, I will abide in you. I will dwell in you." Okay, so Jesus, if you're in heaven, how are you now dwelling in us? 1 Corinthians, not 1 Corinthians, 1 John 3:24. If you're in heaven, how are you dwelling in us? There are three that bear record in heaven.
The father, the word, and the spirit of the father, the son, and the holy ghost. Then it says, "And these three are what?" >> Okay. So if Jesus is going to now dwell on the inside of us, but he abides in heaven, we have to put together the scriptures.
He went and was replaced. He went but was replaced by the Holy Spirit. So he said, "I won't leave you comfortless." You all remember that scripture? He said, "I won't leave you comfortless. I will send the comforter or the Holy Ghost." Now, here's where we need to understand.
God is in all really. It's God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Ghost. God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Ghost. He says, "And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him, and hereby we know that he abides in us."
Okay? He that keepeth the commandments that that Christ gave uh dwells in him and he in him and and and hereby we know that we that he abides in us by the spirit which he has given us. So in other words, the spirit now abides on the inside of us.
Whereas Christ, when he was down here, he was limited to a physical body. He couldn't be every place at the same time. If he was in Galilee, he couldn't be in Thessalonica because he's in a body. Now, you you know, somebody's going to get deep with me and say, "Well, he walked through walls."
And he did. He did did do that when he glorified body. memory of race and him walking through the walls glorified body. However, when he was down here on the earth, he was in a limited capacity. But yet and still, he said, "The works that I do, you're going to be able to do these works.
Not that you'll do works greater than what I've done, but there will be more of us to do greater works." Can you all see that? Christ now whereas he was limited in his physical body, he could only do certain things at certain places. Now when the Holy Ghost uh when Christ goes and the Holy Ghost comes and gets on the inside of us, now Christ can be himself in multiple places. >> I say, "Hey Christ.
Hey Christ. Hey Christ. How you doing Christ? Hey Jesus. Yeah, I just saw you right over here in her. Oh yeah, Jesus. There you are back there. Oh, you're over there Jesus. You're over there. Why? Because the Holy Ghost is on the inside of us. And now, how do we know that we have uh him on the inside of us?
By the spirit which now dwells on the inside of us. So now, whereas Jesus when he was in his earthly body, he was in Judea healing, but he couldn't be in Galatia healing. But yet and still, if I got a saint in Judea healing and I got a saint in Galatia healing, we hey, we getting some things done in multiple places.
Y'all see what I'm saying? That's the That's why we talk about the greater work. The servant is not greater than the master. So, we were wrong in thinking that we were going to be doing greater works, you know, and and that's not saying that the spirit of God can't operate through us.
People can't get healed. People can't get raised from the dead. Sight can't be restored. Not saying that. I'm just saying in terms of us interpreting that scripture of us being having greater works, doing more than what Jesus did. No, that's not what it's talking about. What it's saying is you can do as Jesus did, but now it can be done all around the world simultaneously rather than him being in this physical body and just being stuck at this place.
Amen. We got that. All right. All right. So, take that and and and run with that. All right. Now, let's go let's go back to the identity part. All right. I I I got a mission here. When we talk about identity, we're talking about you taking on new nature.
We're talking about you taking on new name. We're talking about you taking on new character. We're talk talking about you taking on all of that. uh whereas now that there is an ordained already predetermined uh uh uh character act um uh identity that you're supposed to operate in.
It is already pre-ordained. Remember, let's go to Ephesians the uh 2 chapter and the 10th verse. The second chapter and the 10th verse. Ephesians 2:10. For we are his workmanship created where? In Christ Jesus. For what purpose? Unto good works. Okay. We are his workmanship. He did what he did.
He organized what he organized. He arranged what he arranged. He made what he made. We are his workmanship created in Christ Jesus, not outside of Christ Jesus. He says unto for the purpose of or unto good works which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
Now let's read that in New Living Translation. God has before ordained these good works. These good works are going to now um reflect our identity. You're not going to tell me that you are a good person. I'm a good person. I'm a good person, but then I go and I live like a Helion.
We got a problem. My identity, I'm saying that I'm a uh I'm a good person, but I'm living like a Helion. That you don't get me wrong where I'm not talking I'm talking about somebody who's unsaved. All right? Somebody who's unsaved. You got those who are saved and we make mistakes sometime.
Those who are unsaved and we do stupid things sometimes. I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about somebody who's saying that uh they're they're they're good in of themselves, but their lifestyle doesn't line up with it. That's what I'm saying. Uh but when we read this, it says, "For we are God's masterpiece.
He has created us a new in Christ Jesus so we can do the good things he what he planned for us long ago. So our identity there should be a behavior that should follow our identity. That's what pastor's been saying that our behavior we're not led by our behavior.
Our behavior doesn't define us, but our identity define us. We are new creations in Christ Jesus. Now, there should be good works that flow with that new creation that flows with who we are in Christ. Now, with that being said, let's let's look in look into this here.
We live in a day and an age when everything is being redefined. The things that God has already given definition to, the world keeps trying to redefine them. Can I get an amen on that? >> The things that God has already given definition to, the world keeps trying to redefine them.
I'll give you an example. Um, you know, you just, you know, you just got to walk in your truth. your truth. Now, see, God says Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. But if it's just your truth, your truth is subject to whatever you call to be true.
I can say it's okay to have five wise. Hey, that's my truth. You see what I'm saying? I can say it's okay to cheat on my taxes. Hey, that's my truth. I don't I don't care what they say. But no, God makes it clear. Jesus is the way.
He is the truth. He is the life. You are who God says you are. You are who God says you are. And we need to stop forgetting who we are and know our own true identity. Amen. All right. So now let's uh let's go to uh 2 Corinthians 5:17.
Knowing your identity. I want you to hear this as we go there. Knowing your identity in Christ is not just about understanding who you are, but also using that knowledge to consciously rewrite your story and create lasting change. When I say your story is the story of Christ, it's not just about knowing who you are, but it is using the knowledge of who you are to consciously rewrite your story and create lasting change.
Now, why do I say this? True identity is a knowledge that you use to rewrite your story. Because a lot of us have had traumatic experiences and oftentimes we define ourselves via those traumatic experiences. Uh some of us may have been sexually uh molested. Some some of us may have been uh beaten and abused by our parents.
Some of us may have been uh come up in in very hard uh um childhoods. You may have come up in poverty where uh you had food insecurity. for you to have food to eat and you were always uh need hungry. Some of us might have might have had bad relationships uh where it may have been abusive.
Husband might have been abusive to the wife or you might have had girlfriends that was subject to guys who were abusive. Just a lot of things that can happen in life. Now people tend to say that you are a product of your experiences. But when we have the knowledge of Christ, we use and our new identity in Christ, we now use that knowledge to rewrite our story, rewrite who we said we are, who who the world said we are.
We use that knowledge to rewrite that. Praise God. It is the difference between navigating life based on fleeting emotions and living with a stable, confident understanding of your worth. It is as simple as having the confidence to live this life as who God said that you are. Now, let's go to sec 2 Corinthians the 5th chapter and the 17th verse. 2 Corinthians 5:17.
We're familiar with this. Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature. Old things are passed away. Behold, all things are what? Become new. There is so much revelation in this scripture. that if we were to focus on this for now until really until Jesus come back, we would never really exhaust it.
Let's try to look at a little bit of it today. Therefore, if any person, if any man be in Christ, the message of being in Christ can only be preached to those who are mature. Remember we read that in in uh 1 Corinthians uh the uh the second chapter.
It can only be preached to those who are perfect or to those who are mature. Therefore, if any person is in Christ, the understanding that they are in Christ must be mixed with the maturity to now walk in that understanding. Here's where the church has fallen short on this.
We tend to think, "I'm in Christ. Oh, that's sweet. Oh, that's good." But you don't have the knowledge of it that brought about the transformation. Remember I was saying knowledge without transformation is just knowledge gained. If we don't become mature enough to understand what it means about Christ being on the inside of us, we will find that old things will not pass away.
So now when you read this scripture, you think it's automatic and it is on God's end in that if any man is is in Christ, he is a new creature. This is God doing his part. Hey, you accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior. On my end, I'm going to put you up in heaven.
All right? I'm going to seat you in heavenly places. I'm going to make you a new creature that has never existed before. I'm going to now pass away. Cause old things that pertain to your life to pass away. And now, as far as I'm concerned, everything is now new.
Can you now take what is in heaven? You all may have heard me say this on Sunday. And you now that's what has happened in heaven because in heavenly we we are what? Seated in heavenly places. That is what has happened in heaven. Now can you reflect your heavenly being down here on earth?
So down here on earth, if we don't understand that I'm a new creature and be mature enough to grab that and to walk in it and to take that to rewrite my situations rather than operating in my feelings and getting caught in that, then I'm going to find that where I want to experience my life as a new man, I will experience my life as the old things are still here.
And when I experience my life as the old things are still here, then things don't become new. I find myself living the same old defeated life day after day after day after day. So, we are going into this life with its understanding of our new identity in Christ.
Now, let me share a few scriptures with you and then we're going to get ready uh to to close out. We identify ourselves in him. We find our identity in him. Who we are is defined by who he is. Our identity is not in our race. It's not in our culture.
It's not in our pedigree. It's not in our status. It's not in any of that. Colossians the 2 chapter and the 9th verse. It's not in any of that. Let's read that in the mirror if we got that uh ready in the mirror. Colossians the 2 chapter and the 9th verse in the mirror.
When we are in Christ, we have the fullness of God operating on the inside of us. Colossians, I said Colossians 2:9. Go to Colossians 3:11. Prayerfully, we got that in the mirror as well. Colossians 3:11. Good. It says the revelation of Christ in us gives identity to the individual beyond anything anyone could ever be.
Even as a Greek or as a Jew or as an American or as African or as a foreigner or a famous male or female king or pawn from now on everyone is defined by Christ. Everyone is represented in him. So he's saying here there's neither male nor female.
There's neither bond nor free. There's neither Jew nor Greek. He says now you don't recognize nor identify yourself by who you are physically. You don't identify yourself by who you are socially. You don't identify yourself by who you are economically. You don't identify yourself by who you are by this status.
You identify yourself by being in Christ and Christ alone. Amen. There is a if we can find ourselves there are going to be a lot of things happening in life to where people will begin to focus on those classes um the race, the social, the economic, the all of those things there and you'll find that those things divide.
Now, don't get me wrong, you know, listen, God made us who we are in terms of in his image. If I'm of a darker hue or if someone is of a lighter hue or whatever, that's the way that God made them. And we have to understand that and we have to respect that, that they are made in the image of God.
I was saying this as well on Sunday that they are made in the image of God. And then for us to fight against that is to really be anti- good. is to really be anti- good. We don't want to be anti- good because of a person's hue, because of their color, because of their way their hair is straight or or uh what I I heard somebody you ladies know what I mean when I say 4C.
Y'all y'all y'all some somebody tell my wife fill me in on this this this lady this one famous person said, "Look, I am not ashamed of my hair. I am a 4C person. And I was like, 4 C? What? What does that mean? The number four and the letter C.
Okay, not 4 C, but I am a 4C. I come to find that hair is now defined by I think 1 A, 1 B, 1 C, 2 A, 2 B, 2 C, 3 A, 3 B, and down to 4 C. So 1 A is like super straight. for C is curly.
Really tight curly. So, but yet and still, God made us in his image. If you are 1C or if you're if you're 4C, if you're 1A, if you 4C, it doesn't matter. God made you in his image. So, now can we look at the diversity of God? And now can we honor the diversity of God and says yet and still whether I am 1A or 4C I am still made in his image.
But the thing about it it is that from this scripture Christ supersedes it all because our identity isn't in being in one. A you all go and look it up. You look look at what I'm talking about cuz I know some of y'all like what is he talking about?
Your identity isn't being in label 1A or 4 C. Your identity is being in Christ. Amen. >> Praise God. Praise God. Amen. So when we don't recognize our true identity, we end up portraying that which is counterfeit. 2 Corinthians 13th chapter and the fifth verse. And in the AMPC 2 Corinthians 13:5, we end up portraying when we don't understand our true identity, we end up portraying an identity that is not of God, an identity that doesn't reflect Christ, an identity that doesn't mirror the kingdom of God, it shows something that is different.
Examine and test and evaluate your own selves. Some of you all know this, one of my favorite scriptures. Examine and test and evaluate your own selves to see whether you are holding to your faith and showing the proper fruits of it. There should be fruits that will line up with your identity.
Test and prove yourselves not Christ. Do you not know yourselves or yourselves realize and know thoroughly by an everinccreasing experience that Jesus Christ is in you unless you are counterfeits? It says do you not know by an everinccreasing experience that Jesus Christ is in you unless you are counterfeit.
Now counterfeit in this this terms means an imitation of the genuine. You are an imitation of the genuine. Now in God, he saved you. You're saved. Your spirit is saved. Your soul is saved. Your body is saved. You're going to heaven. Body would be left down here. But what I mean by imitation of the genuine is you're not living and displaying the the life of authority of uh power of overcoming of uh uh the faith of Christ down here on the earth.
So you become an imitation of who you are genuinely. You are genuinely a child of God. You are genuinely uh uh the head and not the tail. You're genuinely all these things that God has set you to be. Let's go over a few things. So, we want to make sure that we're not counterfeit.
But the only way that we're not counterfeit and imitation of the genuine is that we have to realize that Christ is on the inside of us. Let's go to James the 1 chapter and the 22nd verse. James 1:22. And let's do this in the TPT. James 1:22. TPT.
One of the things that we have to realize is that Christ in us is greater than Emmanuel, God with us. Christ in us is greater than Emmanuel, God with us. And we see that Christ in us is greater than Emmanuel, which means God with us. We have gone from the position of God being with us to now God is in us.
Amen. >> Because Christ is the incarnate on the inside of us. James the 1 chapter 22nd verse. Uh don't just listen to the word of truth and not uh respond to it for that is the essence of selfdeception. So always let this word become like poetry written and fulfilled by your life.
Next verse. Next verse. If you listen to the word and don't live out the message you hear, you become like the person who looks in the mirror of the word and discover the reflection of his face. In the beginning, you perceive how God sees you in the mirror of the word.
But then you go out and forget your divine origin. You see yourself in the mirror of the word. God shows you who you look like. God shows you your identity. But now if you don't start walking out your identity, the Bible says that you now start deceiving yourself and you for go about and you forget who your tr who you are truly and who your true identity is.
So therefore you walk out and you forget your divine origin. There is this need to carry out the actions that should line up with who you really are, your true identity. All right, one other scripture and then we're going to get ready uh to close out here. Colossians the third, the 2 chapter and the ninth verse.
We talked about going there. Colossians the 2 chapter and the 9th verse. And we could look at this in the King James version. Colossians 2:9. When Christ comes on the inside of you, he now not only brought just himself, but he brought the fullness of God on the inside of you.
So it says, "For in him, in Christ, dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. When God put Christ on the inside of you, he put the fullness of the Godhead on the inside of you. When he put the fullness of the Godhead on the inside of you, he's saying now you have all the power, >> all the authority, all the rights of heaven on the inside of you.
This is how valuable you are. What is man that God is even mindful of him? Well, I tell you who you are, man. You are one that God desires from the beginning to have placed himself in Adam. Adam messed up, got separated. Jesus came back, defeated the old sinful nature that Adam traded off for his relationship with God and accepted the Adamic nature or the sinful nature.
Jesus came in the book of Roman defeated death, hell, and the grave. defeated our sinful nature, cruc nature, crucified, buried our sinful nature, raised us up with this new nature, this new identity, this new man, and seated us in heavenly places. But then when he did that, he sent the Holy Ghost down to be on the inside of us.
But we understand the three are one. For there are three that bear records in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Spirit. These three are one. So now when he sent the Holy Ghost down here in us, he said, "I sent all of myself down here to dwell on the inside of you."
You're walking around with the creation power on the inside of you. You're walking around with the raising from the dead power on the inside of you. You're walking around with sight restored to the blind power on the inside of you. You're walking around with this power that is able to raise up people from the dead.
Uh, you know, don't get so caught up in that. Just know that you got the power. >> The power is on the inside of you. You don't have to go about trying to find things to do. Believe me, he will bring them to you. Amen. >> As you're operating out in the world, you'll find that as you are Christ with all of this power on the inside of you and as you're going from day to day to day to day, he's going to organize and he's going to ordain your steps and he's going to bring you in a position where somebody needs you. >> The thing that we have to realize is that when we go to the place where somebody needs us, we got the goods. >> Now, it's not us who have the goods. is Christ on the inside of us, we realize it's nothing we've done.
All we're doing is operating from the position of the finished works. So when I get up and when I feel like I don't feel good, when I feel like I don't feel good, when I'm dealing with stuff like that, I have to know I have a new identity.
I'm in Christ. The fullness of the Godhead operates in me bodily. Now in my body, I can do what God instructs me to do. So when he brings me to a position and it's a matter of, "Hey, put your hands on her and pray for her." When he brings you to a position and he says, "Speak a word and encourage this brother because he's down."
When he brings you to a position and he says, "Take $10 out of your pocket and give it to that brother right there." When he brings you to a position and you see somebody who's down and somebody who's downtrodden, can you now speak life into them? You can because you are who he made you to be.
I am telling you, you are a walking power. >> You're a walking powerhouse. Praise God. Amen. Well, I have used all of my time. >> You guys are so gracious. Thank God for you. Listen, if you have not accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior, and I speak to those here and those online, if you haven't accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior, then I encourage you to change your identity.
Those who of us who have accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior, we had to change our identity. We had to leave the identity of the old sinful man and we realized that that identity was killing us. We were sinners and we had to ask Jesus to come and give us a new identity.
Give us new life. Only the one who gave you life can identify you. Jesus gave you life. But if you want to receive him as Lord and as Savior, then pray this prayer with me. Say, "Father, I come before you and I ask you to forgive me of all my sins.
I realize that I'm a sinner and that I need a savior. Jesus, come into my heart. Save me from my sins. Be my Lord. be my savior. I receive you now in Jesus name. Amen. Praise God. It's just that simple. If you prayed that prayer, anybody in here or anybody watching online, you prayed that prayer, then Jesus has come in the thing we were talking about today, you now just that quickly, he killed that adamic nature.
He killed that sinful nature. He destroyed it. And he gave you this new spirit on the inside of you. You now have a new spirit. That scripture that says, "Old things have passed away. All things have become new." That is now true in your life. Amen. Come on, let's give God praise for those who've accepted Jesus.
Amen. So, if you prayed that prayer, we want you to text the word I'm saved, all one word, to 51555, and send us your name and your email address. and we want to give you an ebook that will be helpful in your new walk in Christ. And we welcome you into the family of God.
Amen. Praise God. Amen. Well, listen. It is time to honor the Lord with our seed and with our offering. It's opportunity for wholeness as we say here. uh because wholeness is not just you know the money or things like that but it is a part of it and we honor God with that which he has already blessed us.
If you need to offer an envelope raise your hands the ushers will get one to you. Those of you all who are watching online if you want to give as you have purposed in your heart or as the Lord has placed on your heart saying you know give this amount I want you to honor me by by doing this particular thing.
Go ahead on and do it. I've already given. I gave before I came out. I did it via my phone. Boop. Came out real quick and and did that. But you want to honor the Lord, go ahead on and do that. You see the ways on the screen.
You see that you can do it via text or you can call or you can mail in. You can go on the web. And then I think that there should be on the screen a a code that you can scan if you want to scan and do it that way.
God makes a promise. He says he will give seed to the ser. Now sers aren't just people who just put money in the bucket that you would think that they would be a sore. A sore isn't just someone who sows sows seed. But in the kingdom of God, a sore is someone who willingly gives it.
So you can have people who put money in the bucket, but they don't do it willingly. They just doing it. God doesn't look at that person as a soar. But if you willingly saying, "God, I honor you. I want to bless you with what you've blessed me with and I give this willingly of a free heart.
Uh be blessed by it. God says, "Hey, I can multiply that seed because he will multiply the swers's seed that is sown." So we believe that everybody here is giving out of a good heart that the seed that is being sown will be multiplied. That Lord, you will provide bread to the eater.
I declare in the name of Jesus, every need is met. That which we have believed you for, Father, we don't fear, we trust you. Hallelujah. Knowing that you will supply all of our needs according to your riches and glory. And we receive it all now in Jesus name.
Everybody said, "Amen." >> Amen. >> Praise God. Well, let's get ready to stand up. Uh you all know, of course, you can give your offerings as we're heading out. Let's stand up. Let's get ready to be dismissed. Thank you all for being so patient uh with me here today.
I pray that the word uh ministered to you in some type of way. Lift your hands. Oh, may God's grace, may his revelation, may his revealing to us of who he actually is be that which will cause us to walk in this true manifestation of our true identity.
May we never forget. May we be mindful of it at all times. Understanding who we are in Christ. Understanding that Christ is on the inside of us. Now to him who's able to keep us from falling to present us faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy.
To the only wise God our savior be glory, majesty, dominion, and power both now and forever in Jesus name. Amen. >> God bless you all. Have a good one. >> Something happens when you step out of the noise. When you give yourself permission to breathe again. To feel joy without pressure, without performance.
