The Fruit of the Spirit Is the Fruit of Jesus

Transcript

It's wonderful being with you today. My family, God's wonderful, wonderful people. We're family. You know that, right? And I love ministering the word to you. I really do. More than you'll ever know. And thank you for being my partner. Thank you for praying for us and supporting the ministry.

Lord, bless your people mightily. Bless every single one watching right now. Lord, they're listening. I pray you will meet every need in their life. Answer every prayer in Jesus most glorious and wonderful name. God's people said, "Amen." And amen. As you know, I'm teaching today on the supernatural fruit of the Holy Spirit.

The fruit of Jesus. Oh, I love that. In John 15 verse 5, it says, "I am the vine." The Lord says, "I am the vine. Ye are the branches. He He that abideth in me and I in him the same bringeth forth much fruit. For without me ye can do nothing."

What precious words we're looking at. Well, the Lord says, "I am the vine. You are the branches. You know it's so precious that our identity is in the vine. He is the vine. We are the branches. And if you take the branches away, the vine disappears. We are one with the Lord.

I love it. And it is his will that we bring forth much fruit. And he of course gave us the key, the secret. Without me ye can do nothing. You know, the Bible begins with fruit. The Bible finishes with fruit, as I said to you yesterday. But let's also look at uh verse uh 16 of John 15.

Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you. See, that's God's will for us. And ordained you that ye should go and bring forth fruit and that your fruit should remain. that whatsoever, look how it fits with prayer being answered, that whatsoever you shall you shall ask of the father in my name, he may give it to you.

I began teaching on this yesterday. I'm going to continue today, but I want to remind you just of a few things. We must be planted properly for fruit to come forth out of our lives. Remember, planted by the rivers of water. It says in Psalm chapter 1 verse three.

So when you're planted by the rivers of water, his fruit will be there every season. It be beautiful. And then in Psalm 92 verse 13:14, those that be planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the court of our God. We went through all that yesterday.

So it's very important that we be connected to the saints, to the church. We be a part of a fellowship. This is so so important. You know, I remember when I got saved, I went to church every single day. I'm not kidding you. Every single day I was in church.

I was so hungry for the Lord. And I thought about, you know, often about those precious days. My family was not saved in those days. And I so received so much from these precious people I met. And then of course my mom and my dad got saved and my whole family came to the Lord which was so so precious.

In John 15 verse one and verse two it says this this is very very important. I am the true vine and my father is the husband man. He is the one who is responsible for the productivity of of our lives. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit, he taketh away, and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it that it may bring forth more fruit.

And that's why, you know, trials come and tribulations come because it helps us to grow. Growth comes in the valley, not on the mountains. Growth doesn't happen on on the mountain. It it happens only in the valley. That's where the growth happens. Yesterday I began teaching on the fruit of the spirit and we continue today.

Let's go back to Galatians chapter 5 beginning at verse 22. But the fruit see the fruit of the spirit. There are nine graces in that fruit. But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, and peace. And today I'm going to continue teaching on peace. And we'll go from there. longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance.

Against such there is no law. And then verse 24, and they that are Christs have crucified the flesh with all their affections and the lusts. So it shows you that we cannot have the fruit of the spirit without crucifying the flesh. And that's the key right here. Now the word of God is so clear and powerful that the first manifestation of the fruit of the spirit is love.

And love is the foundation of all other fruit of all other graces I should say. If there's no love, there's no peace. There's no joy. There's no long suffering and so on. So yesterday we talked about love and of course uh Romans 5:5 how the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit and so we begin to love the Lord and in Ephesians 3:18 and verse 9 we once we love the Lord we come into his fullness.

It says that to know the love of Christ which paths knowledge that you might be filled with the fullness of God in Ephesians 3. And we talked about joy, the joy of the Lord is my strength. Nehemiah 8:10 says, "And joy comes through scripture, the word of God."

So it says in Isaiah 12:3, "With joy shall you draw waters out of the wells of salvation." So once you're saved, there will be joy. But that happens when you read the Bible because it says in Jeremiah 15:16, "Thy words were found and I did eat them, and thy word was unto me, the joy and rejoicing of my heart."

Plus, the Lord said in John 15:11, "These things have I spoken unto you, that your joy might remain, that your joy might be there." So, the word of God brings us joy. And then our salvation joy. But remember this, without the word there is no joy. Truly those who are saved are hungry for the word of God.

If hunger is not there for the word of God, you wonder were they really saved because we become hungry. Remember this is something very very very important. Hunger is the sign of life. What is the first thing a baby wants when it's born? Food. Why? It's hunger. There's three things that show you there's life.

Three things. Number one, hunger. Hunger means life. Hunger means health also. So when people are hungry, they're healthy. When people are sick, they lose their appetite. So hunger for the Lord's word shows there's life in us. There's life is in us. But when when you're born again, three things come together.

Hunger, faith, and love. This is so powerful. So the minute you are you are saved, you're hungry for the Lord, his word. Number two, every part of you knows you're saved. Your heart knows I'm saved. I'm in the kingdom. My sins are forgiven. That's faith. An angel did not have to tell you.

You do not have to go read anything. You just know it in your heart. That's faith. God gives us that measure of faith to show us we are in the kingdom. And thirdly, we begin to love him. Think about loving the Lord having not seen him. That is the fruit of the Holy Spirit.

That is the sign of salvation. And then you will see all these graces show up in your life. Love and joy and peace. Now let's talk about peace. peace that people spend the world spend billions of dollars trying to find and they they cannot find it comes from the Lord because it says very clearly that he gives us peace.

He said, "My peace, my peace I give unto you." Not like the world gives. In John 14:27, the Lord said, "My peace." He is the fruit. He is the vine. He is the producer of the fruit. He is the vine himself. All we do is bear the fruit.

That's it. He gives it, we bear it, we live it. People see it in us. So simple. But now peace, he gives us that peace. The world cannot give you peace. It's not even real peace. My peace I give unto you. John 14:27. And peace is the result of justification is the result of salvation in Romans 5:1.

Therefore, being justified, we have peace with God through through Jesus Christ. And Philippians 4:7, peace that passes all understanding. Now, let's go back and remember one thing in Psalm, and this is where I left you off basically yesterday, but it's good to repeat these things because sometimes people forget.

In Psalm 119 and verse 165, one of the most powerful verses that we all need to remember about the Bible, great peace have they which love thy law. So you have to love the word, love thy law, and nothing nothing shall offend them or causes them to stumble.

They'll not stumble. Now, when you read the word of God, it's a process. It's it it it it's daily. It's daily. And that blessed word, you begin to change. Beholding Jesus in his word, you begin to change. And that's the secret. It's not about reading the Bible. It's finding Jesus in the Bible.

It's looking for him in scripture. Where is he in Genesis, in every chapter, in every story? Where is he in Exodus? Where is he in Leviticus? And so on. And when you find the Lord, you you you'll discover changes happening in your life. But it happens slowly, progressively.

And eventually a peace will settle on you that you cannot describe when you open the word of God. Just a peace that is heavenly, truly heavenly. And you are completely like you uh you're you're immersed in it. You're immersed in it. Now before I go and talk about longsuffering, our God is called the God of peace in Hebrews 13:20.

And the God of peace who brought again from the dead, the Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, make you perfect. So the God of peace, that peace came through the cross, through the blood. In Colossians 1, it says through the blood of his cross, we have peace with God.

Think about what it cost the Lord to give us that peace. Because it says in Isaiah 53, the chastisement of our peace was upon him. He was chastised to give us peace. The chastisement of our peace. He was chastised on the cross that we might have peace. He paid with his life for your peace.

Your peace. And all you have to do is simply spend time in his beautiful presence and you'll receive peace. He said, "My peace I give unto you." Someone is watching me right now who needs that peace real bad. You need that peace. God will give you that peace.

I heard about a couple today who just lost their baby. Maybe something happened to you. How people need peace when there's loss in their life, when there's tragedy in their life, when a sickness comes or a problem comes in family. We all need peace, but we cannot find it in the world.

And I'll tell you something, a lot of people look for it even in religious activity. You'll not find it. Only Jesus gives it in his presence. Please hear me, I beg you. You that need this. In his presence, there's fullness of joy. Fullness of joy. I know a couple, Lance and Hope, who now work for Kenneth Copelan in Dallas, used to work for our ministry.

And their first beautiful child, a little boy, uh was born and he was just a little boy and then he died while sleeping. And I will never forget the the the peace of God I saw in them both. the mom and the dad because they understood the peace of God.

The peace of God comes in the presence of the Lord. And now God gave them three more children or a pastor named Don Riing in Rochester, New York. His little son, his little boy was killed by a school bus. He was coming home and a school bus hit him and killed him instantly. was a a little boy and Don told the story and told me how he went down and the neighbors came out and his wife was sitting on the grass in shock and he took that little boy.

Here's a little boy and lifted him up to heaven and said, "Lord, you gave my boy to me and now you took him. I thank you, Lord. I thank you, Lord, for his life." And the neighbors, many of them got saved and went to his church. The mayor of the city was saved as a result of seeing that cuz he saw it.

Didn't just hear about it, but he himself saw it. You know, when we know the Lord, we can handle loss because his peace passeth all understanding because you don't understand how can a man lift up his little boy, you know, when he was killed and his name is Don Riley.

He was a dear man of God. in Rochester. I used to go preach for him. And Jay and his wife, precious saints of God, I missed them terribly. I loved him dearly. He and his family. And he picks up his boy and says, "Lord, thank you for giving me my son and now you took him."

What kind of what kind of power is that? It's the Holy Spirit in his life. Jesus gives us that beautiful peace and then longsuffering. Yeah. You know, it's I I get very emotional thinking about the sweet people I've I've known in my own life in the past and people in the present who know the peace of God that passes all understanding even in the midst of trials because they go to Jesus.

They know where to find him. They know where to find it. He is our peace. Longsuffering. This this fruit is directed towards our fellow man. uh no one needs longsufferings towards God. You know, we need longsuffering towards each other. It is love on trial. Longsuffering is love on trial.

Longsuffering is selfishness conquered. Selfishness conquered. When you conquer selfishness, that's longsuffering. And in Colossians, you know, I just felt just to talk to someone who needed that peace. And there's others, I'm sure, that need that. And I pray this has helped you. But remember, Jesus is your peace.

Colossians 3:13, it says, "Forbearing one another and forgiving one another. If any man have a quarrel against any, even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. Now think about this. I mean, this is longsuffering. Forbearing one another. Wow. Bearing with each other, forgiving one another. If any man have a quarrel against any, even as Christ forgave you.

So when there's longsuffering, you forgive. You forgive your enemies. you you you don't you do not retaliate. So never forget this fruit of longsuffering is directed towards our fellow human beings, our fellow men, someone else and it's love on trial really. And Colossians 1:11 tells us more about longsuffering.

Let's just read it together. Colossians 1:1 it says, "Strengthen with the Almighty according to his glorious power unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness." Well, only the part of God can give you that. I mean, we we we we all know that. And it's uh I think longsuffering is explained in when Peter said to the Lord, "How many times do I forgive?"

Seven times? No, he said 70* 7. That's longsuffering. That's longsuffering. You know, my my mom used to say, "God's hand is long, Benny. God's hand is long." And what do you mean, mom? That God's hand is long. And and and uh the Arabic word for longsuffering has the idea in it.

God's hand is long. And I said, "Mom, what do you mean by that?" Oh, she said there's no way he cannot reach you, baby. His hand is long. He can reach you anywhere. He He He goes as far as you as as you are. Ketam used to say, "There's no pit so deep.

Jesus is deeper than the pit." Think about that. There's no pit so deep. Jesus is deeper still. He's deeper than the pit. I don't really know where you are right now, but but you you need to forgive. You need to forgive. Dr. Rambo told me the story of when her father had mistreated her when she was younger and then he passed away and she had all the hurt and all the anger and all the pain from from what he uh had said to her and so on. and she imagined him on a chair one day and began to forgive him.

You know, think about that. She wanted to to talk to him when he was alive and could not really have a have have a time to just talk to him. And then after he died, she was released from that by forgiving her her own dad. And sometimes we hold things in our hearts because we don't know how to do it while they're alive.

You know, we were afraid to approach someone in case they reject us and so on. But forgiveness is powerful. It it releases people even from sickness. It releases people from a lot of things. You you'll be free from so much in you when you forgive. David Duplesy talked about the man, wonderful man of God that I knew years ago used to talk about forgiveness all the time and he talked about how when the Lord after he rose from the dead, he did not look at Peter and say, "You bad boy you for doing this and that and denying me."

He just said, "Do you love me?" Think about that powerful moment. Do you love me, Peter? He forgave him right right there with those words. So rather than rebuking him, he said, "Do you love me, Peter?" Wow. He He did not rebuke him for denying him. No place does it say that the Lord rebuked Peter when Peter denied him.

He just loved him into the family. Loved him back into the fold. That's what forgiveness is all about. We forgive. We forgive and we love. That's the real Christianity. And then gentleness. And I'm going to have to continue tomorrow, but let me just talk about this because I think it's so powerful.

Not only longsuffering, but gentleness is longsuffering with a healing touch, with a touch of healing. Uh, in first Thessalonians, let's go to first Thessalonians. And I want to be able to finish the teaching tomorrow. So I want to let me finish this one today and then we'll go on with the next grace of the fruit of the spirit.

Uh first Thessalonians 2:7 says, "But we were gentle among you even as a nurse cherisheth her children." So a nurse that cherish it. Uh Jesus spoke about being harmless as doves in Matthew 10:16. So, but it comes by by living by faith. It comes, you know, and the the psalmist gives us the answer.

How do we become gentle? Longsuffering with the healing touch, you know, touch of healing with it. That's what longsuffering is. That's what gentleness is. So, I explain longsuffering, but gentleness goes a little be little beyond that. That touch of healing that comes with it. in the Psalms. Let's look at Psalm 18.

Psalm 18. And let's look at verse 35. It says, "Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation, and thy right hand hath holdened me up, and thy gentleness hath made me great." Jesus is called the gentle shepherd, right? Your gentleness, Lord, has made me great. I think there's greatness in gentleness.

And when when you learn the fruit of the spirit comes your way and God begins to show you how to be gentle, I think God will promote you. Frankly, it says that the servant of the Lord must be gentle. So gentleness so important so important that uh what as as Paul says as a nurse that cherish it as a nurse that cherish it.

Tomorrow we're going to go on with goodness and and finish every grace given to us right through all the nine graces of the fruit. So make sure to join me tomorrow. This has been a precious special time again. Thank you again for your love and your support. I'm on my way today in fact uh as you're watching this to Brazil.
