Yes. Um right before we open here I just felt to open on Psalm 32. Um And verse seven says you are my hiding place. You shall preserve me from trouble. You shall surround me with songs of deliverance. And this whole week I've just been having this image of myself being hidden under God's wing wings.
And I just feel like for people that are struggling with anxiety or stress or fear there's just this this reminder this morning that he's your hiding place. He will preserve you from trouble. He's the one who's surrounding you with songs of deliverance. So I just pray that this morning during this service that you will be able to encounter him and encounter his peace that any thoughts any mindsets that you have been carrying that could bring Yeah, someone is asking actually pray for anxiety and anxiety attack.
I'm praying for you right now declaring peace into your heart and into your mind all nausea to leave right now in Jesus name. Anything that is causing you to have a hard time sleeping a hard time resting. I just declare peace into your bodies this morning and that this morning will just encounter the peace of prince. >> Yeah.
Prince of peace in Jesus name. >> Can I tell you about the peace bubble? >> Yes. I was reading uh Philippians 4 and it guards our minds and our hearts beyond understanding. >> Yes. And I'm sitting reading that scripture and I have this very I'm not sure if it is an open eye vision or it was just very uh real.
Mhm. And I find myself in a war zone. And it's intense and people are running up to me and screaming. There's explosions all around me. I'm like just watching very very vivid. >> Mhm. And then this person runs up and is like screams like in front of me and then walks away and then I realize I'm walking through this war zone and I'm in this giant plastic bubble.
And inside of the bubble is elevator music. Let's go. And I'm walking through this war zone and and God starts to speak to me that it doesn't matter the circumstance there's a peace that surpasses all understanding that even the if the external circumstances feel like war on the inside >> [snorts] >> in his peace it seems unreasonable to feel so fun.
Wow. >> And we pray to that I'm going to pray that over you because I've had a lot of testimonies where people they actually started downloading on Spotify elevator music. They'll get anxious and the and and the revelation will sit on them and they'll just sit with elevator music and the peace of God will come upon them.
So good. >> Yeah, and and I've had I've got many many testimonies so I'd love to pray >> Yes, please pray. >> the peace bubble on you. All right. Does that feel good? >> Yes. Yes. >> Lord we just thank you Thank you. >> that there is a peace that surpasses all understanding. >> Amazing. >> And it's available for every single person here and every single person online and every home.
And I just declare a bubble of peace around every person Lord. Amazing. >> And I ask Lord Jesus that it doesn't matter the circumstances that your goodness is not dependent on the circumstances Lord. Lord that your goodness and your kindness and peace is not dependent on finances or relationships.
It's not dependent on anything Lord. You are you God and you are you're the best and you're the amazing. You you're just good. So I just [snorts] declare that peace would would just be in two hours time once you've calmed down and I ask that your peace would begin to fall on people's room Lord.
Lord I thank you Lord that even as we worship Lord that I would be like our elevator music. Yes. >> That there would be a sense of just letting our our lives being touched by the peace of God today. So we declare Lord I thank you Lord there'll be testimonies of the of the peace bubble to come on people's >> amen.
I receive it over myself. Amen. So many people on the chat actually asking for prayer for that and thanking for that. So yeah, just declaring peace over you guys this week and while we receive in the service. Do you have anything else you want to say? No. Okay.
Uh yes, just praying for you guys. I saw someone send you're saying it's your birthday and happy birthday. >> Yes, we love you and declaring this is the year of peace and just joy over your life in Jesus name. So guys, yeah let's have fun this morning. Pastor Bill is speaking.
Take some notes. I love taking notes when Bill is speaking. Yes, for sure. And then someone asked for prayers for new teeth. I am declaring new teeth. We we actually had on a Sunday night someone had a gold gold teeth show up. Yes, we have photos. And also Savannah you're asking for prayers for your grandpa declaring clarity of mind over him in Jesus name.
Yes. So we love you guys. We'll see you at the end. Just posture yourself to receive his peace and his joy this morning and we'll see you at the end. Hello hello hello. Hey, let's stand together. All over the room. I know we're talking. We're connecting. Let's stand together.
We're going to start here in just a moment. Feel good? Thank you. How is everyone this morning? Doing well? Doing well? I missed you last weekend, just so you know, I had my my number two son, he got married uh last weekend. Yes, you can I He didn't do anything.
You don't have to clap. He just showed up to that thing. So, um it was good. It's my It's my first uh I'm getting older, so it's my first one of the that has that has left my house. He officially left my house, although all of his stuff is still at my house, but he but he's not there.
Just his stuff is is there. But, I was uh obviously, that's just the the the mode I'm in. And I know there's lots of amazing parents in the room that have uh have gotten their kids married and gone and does that stuff. But, since it was my first one, I was feeling a little nostalgic and a little, you know, all lots of the emotions were running.
Then, I had to say a speech. And um which you would think I'd be great at, but I don't know I don't know how it came out. It wasn't I don't think it was good. It was rambly. And uh and it was all right. Um but in that, I just it was uh it was I felt like, you know, 2 weeks ago that he was, you know, holding my hand really low at Disneyland, you know?
And now, uh now he's a man. He's That's what they say. He's a man. So, um and and he's doing that. And I I was just thinking about, you know, how for me just how thankful I was and all of those things and um and the faithfulness of God and how good God is and uh not that not that all those years he's been alive hasn't been with challenges, but uh God is so good and God is so faithful and he's so kind even in the midst of everything that happens in life.
Um he is really good. His faithfulness endures. You guys believe that? So, I'm going to read you a Psalms today, if that's okay, with his faithfulness in mind. We're in Psalms 100 today and we'd like to open uh today with this. Shout to the Lord, all the earth.
Worship the Lord with gladness. Come before him with joyful songs. Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his. We are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with Thanksgiving and his courts with praise, and give thanks to him and praise his name.
For the Lord is good. And his love endures forever. And his faithfulness continues through all generations. We're going to come before the Lord today and we're going to worship him and we're going to worship him with that in mind. We're going to enter his gates with Thanksgiving. We're going to enter his courts with praise, because he is just that good.
You guys believe that? He is good. Listen, if you're here, no matter what you're going through, no matter what circumstance, no matter what, he is worthy of praise. He is worthy of worship. He is worthy of your shouts. >> ((music playing)) >> Yes, your shout. He's worthy of it. Right?
He is worthy of us actually doing something for him. And this is a moment we get to come together and you get to do it with some amazing people in the room. And we're going to worship today and I know you guys were just chatting before, but right before we do, right before the team leads us into worship, could you find someone you're sitting next to you who you probably don't know?
Maybe you don't know them. And just introduce yourself. Say hello. Be kind. And then, get ready to worship the Lord together with passion, with joy, with faithfulness. And let's get after it today and actually give something to him that's so valuable. >> ((music playing)) ((music playing)) ((music playing)) ((music playing)) ((music playing)) ((music playing)) ((music playing)) ((music playing)) ((music playing)) >> Come on, every voice. Fill your people, God, as a signpost, Lord, of the kingdom that is come and the kingdom that is coming. >> ((music playing)) >> Establish us, Lord.
Establish us, Lord, in your love. Rooted and grounded, oh God, as a people beholding your glory. A people beholding your ((music playing)) face. Being transformed from one degree of glory into another. >> ((music playing)) >> Thank you, God. Would you just thank him? We thank you, God. Just lift up your voice.
We thank you, Lord. We lift up our voice with the sound of rejoicing and singing, for our Lord God is in our midst. Our Lord God is mighty. Our Lord ((music playing)) God is here. Oh, rejoice, oh daughters of Jerusalem. Rejoice, oh daughters of Jerusalem, for the Lord God ((music playing)) is in your midst, and he is mighty to save.
He sings and dances over you. He rejoices ((music playing)) in you. He rejoices with songs and dancing. Thank you, Lord. In in I a little bit overtaken by the Lord right now. Thank you, God. Overtake us, Lord. Overtake us, God, with your goodness, Lord. Oh, Holy Spirit of God. Oh, Holy Spirit of God.
WE WELCOME YOU, GOD. We know you are here, Lord, but we ask for more, Lord. We ask for more. God, we ask for more FOR OUR FAMILIES, GOD. We ask for more of your presence, Lord, and you will give us, Lord, the spirit without measure. Oh, Lord, we are hungry, God.
We are hungry for you, Lord. We are hungry for a manifestation of your glorious, wonderful presence, Lord ((music playing)) Jesus. A manifestation of your goodness in our lives, Lord. ((music playing)) Lord, I pray that every burden and every weight, Lord Jesus, that tries to rest on your people, God, we pray, our meek and holy God, come and lift the yoke of the oppressor and put your yoke upon us.
Your yoke, Lord, that brings ((music playing)) joy and freedom and life and peace and hope. If you need a yoke lifted off your shoulders, ((music playing)) just raise your hand today. God is here. Raise your hands and receive. ((music playing)) Oh, Lord, we receive. We receive today, Lord. All come who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
All come you who have no money, come, buy and eat. For ((music playing)) there is a table. Oh, thank you, Lord. Thank you, Lord. We receive to Sarah ((music playing)) receive that for myself. Thank you, Lord. I Sorry, I feel really overcome. I'm so thankful that he that he is the one that breaks into ((music playing)) us breach after breach with wave after wave of his goodness.
Oh, it's not our goodness. It's not our works. It's his great work that he has done. Oh, church, we are we are not rejoicing because of a great work we have done, but because of the great work he has done for us. And it has been done. It has been finished.
The cross of Calvary has finished the work and restored man to God. Amen. In worship today, I I when we're singing praise and we're looking at those beautiful hills, uh >> ((music playing)) >> springtime right, and the little goats and lambs are being born, and I was just imagining these little lambs prancing in the field, ((music playing)) twisting and whirling and leaping and thinking that they even praise God.
That in their little rejoicing, they're twisting and whirling and leaping, and then I thought of David >> ((music playing)) >> before the ark of the Lord twisting and whirling and leaping. That's the language that the Hebrew was using. David wasn't just dancing, you know, like church dance. He lost his mind on God in that moment.
He lost it all so much that that he was um he was rebuked for how he lost himself on God. And ((music playing)) then I remembered this moment in Australia a couple years ago when we were praising the Lord at the end of a conference, and I saw Jesus in the midst of us, and he was dancing out of his mind, twisting and whirling and leaping, and I thought, my, how undignified my Lord is, God.
And and he was shouting with joy, and and there was even >> ((music playing)) >> spit coming out of his mouth. I'm so sorry. I thought, surely not the Son of God, you know. But then I remembered he ((music playing)) mixed his spit with dirt to heal the blind. And he washed us in blood, not in sanitizing wipes, in the very organic material of himself.
I bet you when he breathed on the Holy Spirit that they received not just not ((music playing)) just a sanitized version, but a holy, wild infilling of God's glorious love ((music playing)) and joy. And Zephaniah 3:17, it says this. It says, "Rejoice, oh daughters of Jerusalem." >> ((music playing)) >> It's time to rejoice.
That word means cheer up. Get right in your face. Do you know why? Because God is in your midst. And it says, "And ((music playing)) this father, he rejoices." That word is to wildly jump ((music playing)) and spin. It's like you're so overcome with emotion, you cannot contain yourself. And I just had this feeling today as we behold God's glory, and we are becoming unveiled.
We have been unveiled. We are becoming like him. Maybe today God is dancing, and we're dancing back. Maybe I'll be holding as a wild, whirling father who is so overcome with emotion, and we get to praise in response. And so, I just want to take a minute. I'm going to ask our musicians I'm I'm going to put you on the spot.
Yeah, I just felt like they were supposed to prophesy over us, and we're supposed to receive a God ((music playing)) that rejoices in our midst, that whirls and leaps and dances and says, "Oh, rejoice, cheer up, because I am in your ((music playing)) midst. I am with you." And maybe today as God dances, maybe you need to do a little church dance.
Maybe you need to do a little whirl and spin to step out of the heavyweight and into a God, a heavenly reality that they are dancing. So, the band is just going to play. Lord, we welcome ((music playing)) the Lord of the dance, the dancing Lord, that rejoices and whirls and leaps like the little lambs in the field.
Lord, ((music playing)) come and rejoice in your people. Come and rejoice in our midst, Lord, and we we return by rejoicing ((music playing)) in you. >> ((music playing)) ((music playing)) ((music playing)) >> I want you to just begin to lift shouts of thanks, shouts of ((music playing)) praise. Hallelujah. >> ((music playing)) ((music playing)) ((music playing)) ((music playing)) ((music playing)) ((music playing)) ((music playing)) ((music playing)) ((music playing)) ((music playing)) ((music playing)) ((music playing)) ((music playing)) >> Hallelujah. >> ((music playing)) >> Hallelujah. Hallelujah. >> ((music playing)) >> Just put your hand on your neighbor.
I got to get Bill up here. Sorry, Bill. I lost my mind on God. Oh. Just just bless them ((music playing)) with a God that rejoices over them with singing. Just bless them. Just bless them. Fill them, Lord, with your glory. >> ((music playing)) >> Fill them. The whole earth is filled.
Fill us with your glory. Oh, with a glorious, ((music playing)) wonderful, loving, rejoicing, singing, dancing, wild about me Father, wild about me, God. In ((music playing)) Jesus' name. Yay. In Jesus' name. In Jesus' name. Amen. The church says, ((music playing)) "Hallelujah." Hallelujah. Ooh, please hug someone. >> ((applause)) >> Bless them. Thank you, team. All right, you guys, as you're dancing back to your seats, it's time if you are junior high, you can head out this way.
You have class now. You can dance your whole way to class if you want. I know junior high wants to dance in front of everyone, I'm sure. No, y'all are going to have a great class. We're so excited for junior high, you can be released. >> [gasps] >> It's really hard to dance after or give announcements after you've danced.
A little out of breath. Well, if you are a first-time guest with us this morning, we just want to say welcome. Would you just raise your hand if it's your first time visiting us? I see you guys that I came in for the Wonder Conference. Yeah, you guys, can you welcome them?

Some of you probably need to get baptized tonight. That was so beautiful. We have baptisms tonight at our 6:00 p.m. service. If you would love to be a part of that and get baptized tonight, bring dark clothes and a change of clothes Wear dark clothes, bring a change of clothes and a towel and meet at 5:00 in the East-West Fellowship Room where we will have a baptism class that we want you to be a part of before baptism service.
So, we will have that tonight in the East-West Fellowship Room. So, join us then. Okay, next announcement for this morning, we have something incredible. If you have kids in the room, will you wave your hand? I see. Look at this little one coming forward. She probably won't be a part of the Easter celebration with Easter egg hunting yet.
But, this Easter on on April 5th, we are going to have a celebration for all of our kids. We've done it on Saturdays before, but we're actually doing it for all of our Sunday services. Your kids will check in just like they had before, but our Heather and our team have done a phenomenal job preparing for how we're going to celebrate Easter together.
And every service will have a carnival. Every service. We're going to have a bounce house, face painting, an Easter egg hunt. We're going to share the good news of resurrection. It's going to be a powerful Sunday for our kids and so much fun. I'm so excited cuz I won't chase all of three of my kids on Saturday.
I did an Easter egg hunt at the bottom of the field. This year, I just get to drop them off at class. I'm so excited. So, if you are um a parent and have kids, please come that Sunday and get ready for our Easter celebration with our kids.
Okay, last announcement. This one's exciting. It's It is called Say Rock. Rock. Yeah, like Jesus, except for It is a system that we are about to introduce to our church called the Rock. We have a slide. If you are local, you're here, this is your family, and you need information because it's hard sometimes to know all the things going on here, and we want to make sure you get our equip classes and know how to eventually check your kids in even in a different way that's so much easier.
We have a system that we have been working on for a long time as a church that many churches use, and this is a QR code. You will want to scan it and give us updated information. Some of you guys move and writing a bunch. Hopefully not as much as you want.
But, this is the best way to get us accurate information for us to get you um emails and for your kids' ages. And for this This is the new system we're going to be using. Look at it. It's just a QR code. But, it's so much more important than that.
As a local church manager, we need you to fill this out. So, would you just take a minute scan the QR code so we have your information. Okay, that's it for verbal announcements. Now, you can join church news. Hi Bethel family. I'm Michelle Thompson, one of our ministry leaders, and we are so glad that you are here today. >> ((music playing)) >> And I'm Jenna Zint, a deacon here at Bethel.

Be glorified in every area of our life, God. Everybody seated? If you're not from our uh church here, please put your offering at your um or your tithe at your church.
Otherwise, feel free to give abundantly here. Let's welcome Pastor Bill, can we? >> ((applause)) >> Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thanks. Thank you. >> ((applause)) >> Wow. Wild and crazy group. How How many of you uh are left overs? I'm sorry, that sounds negative. You were at the Wonder Conference and you uh uh good.
I walked in for a couple minutes Friday. I was thinking of attending one of the meetings. And I walked in, I stood back there for about two minutes and I thought I I I just can't handle it. It's just there's so much estrogen in the room that that it just it felt contagious.
I It was too big of a cross to bear. I just couldn't do it. I know you had a glorious time, but uh it was without me, that's for sure. But, uh I honestly I I love those those events. Uh there there are so much deposit made in you know, in in in our story, the Weaverville then the Redding story, one of the most major breakthroughs in in the outpouring that we were beginning to have in Weaverville, in infancy, actually happened through a women's event.
And it it actually it actually impacted the entire church on one day in one day. And so I I I believe so much in that and uh so uh I'm going to read. You know, it's hard to I I I don't have a lot of new stuff. So, I have to do oldies but goodies.
And uh I did see one this week that was I thought was cute. It was just cute. It was I came into the world with nothing and I still have most of it. I I thought that I thought that was that was funny. So, um this is this is one of the first ones I ever got years ago, so.
A guy is 84 years old and he loves to fish. He was sitting in his boat the other day when he heard a voice say, "Pick me up." He looked around, couldn't see anyone, thought he was dreaming when he heard a voice say again, "Pick me up." He looked in the water and there floating on top was a frog.
The man said, "Are you talking to me?" Frog said, "Yes, I'm talking to you. Pick me up, kiss me, I'll turn into the most beautiful woman you've ever seen. I will be your bride." The man looked at the frog for a short time, reached over, picked it up carefully, placed it in his shirt pocket.
The frog said, "Wait, are you nuts? Didn't you hear what I said? I said, 'Kiss me, I will be your beautiful bride.'" He opened his pocket, looked at the frog and said, "Nah, at my age I'd rather have a talking frog." Oh, well, okay. Okay. All right. All right.
That's Yeah, so so so so. All right, I've got two portions of scripture I want to look at today. I will start with Mark 5. And just to be honest, we're going to skip around a bit in that chapter, but go with me if you would to Mark chapter 5 and then we're going to go to Luke chapter 10.
And back in January, which seems like an eternity ago, I started a series in which I was going to talk to you for I think 4 weeks about transformation and looking at stories in history, looking at the mandate given to us in scripture, what it looks like to actually be commissioned to disciple nations, and look at the stories that we have in revival history.
There are extraordinary things that took place. For example, in uh Ephesus in Acts chapter 19, there was such an incredible outpouring of the Holy Spirit that a occult center was transformed to the point that in Asia every single household household heard the gospel. Imagine a region that large being that impacted because of an outpouring of the spirit in a cult center that was transformed.
And so we look at biblical examples, the teaching of scripture, the testimony of scripture, and then the testimony in history. One of my favorite stories, I don't remember all the details, but I remember reading a wonderful book by Winkie Pratney called Revival. And in it he talks about Atlantic City.
Atlantic City many years ago had a 100,000 people living in it and all but four were converted. Four. Maybe it was five. Let's just say five so I'm not exaggerating. >> [laughter] >> All All but five were were born again. It's an extraordinary thing. Here's Here's a sad reality is that in church life in America the cities that have the highest church attendance are not the most transformed cities in the culture of the city itself.
The enemy doesn't mind Obviously, he would like for everyone to be destroyed. I I get that, but he doesn't mind church attendance and and I don't want to put that down cuz I'm so glad we get to meet. I'm glad across Reading there are thousands of believers that are meeting at this moment worshiping Jesus.
I'm so thankful for that that privilege. But if if you look at just the statistics the cities that have the highest percentage of church attenders are not necessarily the most transformed. They still have the cultural problems and defects that exist all throughout society. And I think the reason at least in part is that there is a way of thinking that has to be changed not just fire insurance.
A way of thinking actually has to be changed in a person's life for them to make a full uh effect of the gospel in through their life to actually bring transformation to our surroundings. We have to believe it's possible. We have to get out of the mindset that we are here to meet weekly, which I'm thankful for, learn what we can out of scripture, have a healthy family, a good business, etc., and move into a transformational position to change atmosphere and bring influence not through manipulation and control but through transformation.
And I'll try to illustrate this in the best example I have. I have to review a lot today cuz it's been so long since I talked last that I need to review a lot today to set the stage. I hope to tie the knot on this thing in a couple weeks, whatever it is I talk again, which I think is 2 weeks.
So, I want you to go with me to Mark chapter 5 and we're going to look at a story of the man of the Gadarenes. It's a transformational story of an individual that actually brought reformation in a in measure to an area, to a region. All right? Mark chapter 5, let's begin with verse 1.
Then they came to the other side of the sea, to the country of the Gadarenes. And when he had come out of the boat, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit who had who had his dwelling among the tombs. No one could bind him, not even with chains, because he had been often bound with shackles and chains, and the chains had been pulled apart by him, and the shackles broken in pieces.
Neither could anyone tame him. And always, night and day, he was in the mountains and in the tombs crying out, cutting himself with stones. And when Jesus when he saw Jesus from afar, he ran and worshiped him. To me that is one of the most extraordinary statements that here's a man who has many demons.
We It does never gives us a number. It just calls him a legion. It's a great number, a host of the demonic that lives in this person's in this person's body. This man demonized, tormented, controlled in measure, saw Jesus and ran and fell at his feet and worshiped him.
Let's just say a thousand demons, 2,000. If that many demons can't keep one person from worship, what keeps the church from worship? There's no excuse. The The error is not in the existence of the demonic or not. The error is in a way of thinking that is valued above the standard of scripture.
And this is where the rub comes. This is where the transformation either happens in our families, in our neighborhoods, in our city, our state, or it doesn't happen. It's the transformation of thought. It's not mind over matter. It's the mind of Christ versus the carnal mind that just fuels man-centered everything.
So here this man comes and falls at Jesus' feet. Now, I'm going to have to make just quick references and you can study them on your own later if if you're interested. In Mark chapter 7, Jesus brings correction to Pharisees. Now, I remind you, the religious spirit, the pharisaical spirit, is not just a tame other than the gospel attitude.
It is the spirit that crucified Jesus. It is antichrist in nature. I remind you, the antichrist is not called anti-Jesus. It's called antichrist cuz Christ means the anointing and the opposition is always against the work and the move of the Holy Spirit. The target is always to undermine the move of God.
Jesus rebukes the Pharisees and he said, "You have You have rendered powerless the word of God because of your traditions." You have rendered powerless the word of God. A loud instrument playing on the stage. I go over to the wall and I pull the plug. I have rendered it powerless.
Suddenly there's no sound. There was sound, now there's no sound. Rendered powerless. The most powerful thing in the universe is the word of God. He spoke and said, "Let there be light." And there's light. His voice, his word shakes and creates. But here in this moment Jesus says to his to the Pharisees, "You've made the word of God of no effect because of your tradition."
We all have traditions. Traditions for family, Christmas, Sunday dinner, whatever it might be. Those things are not vile and evil unless they are in conflict with scripture and we elevate them above the standard of scripture. Then we have elevated something above the word of God. That way of thinking actually opposes what God is saying in the earth.
And that pharisaical spirit is actually in partnership with the traditions that war against the principles of the kingdom of God. What brings transformation to a family? What brings transformation to a city? What brings transformation to a state, to a nation? It's the mind of Christ. Don't be conformed to this world, be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
Transformation takes place in the same measure as our mind is renewed. Our transformation takes place in the same measure as we embrace and live in the mind of Christ. >> [snorts] >> Verse seven, he cries out with a loud voice. And he said, "What do I have to do with you, Jesus, son of the most high God?
I implore you by God to do not torment me." >> [snorts] >> Jesus says, "Come out of him." And uh and the man is delivered. The demons go into 2,000 pigs. Uh the first record of deviled ham. And I'm sorry. It [clears throat] it just the whole economy went belly up, you know?
It's uh as all the pigs killed themselves. Um Verse 15. The city that had come because the pigs were dead came to Jesus. Saw the one who had been demon-possessed and had the legion sitting and clothed and in his right mind, and they were afraid. >> [clears throat] >> They weren't afraid when the demonized man was in the tombs howling at night.
But when the power of God came, something they couldn't understand, couldn't explain, and could not control, they were terrified. The power of God forces a decision. The power of God and some will decide for, some will decide against, but the power of God forces a decision. People can become comfortable with our Christianity if there's no power.
Jesus reminds us that the kingdom of God is not in word, it is in power. We are not the powerful ones. He is, but our obedience gives him place to demonstrate his extravagance. It says he was sitting in his right mind and they were afraid. The word the right mind there is actually two words.
It's the word sozo, which is a dear word to us. It's the word for salvation that refers to the forgiveness of sin, the healing of disease, and the deliverance of torment. So here is a man who's got probably multiple generations of the demonic that has put him in such a place of torment, and he's finally set free, and the Bible says he had a saved mind.
Two words, sozo and mind. So he had a he had a saved mind. His mind was transformed. That which was bound is now liberated and free. I don't have time to develop this. I've I've done it other times, but the one of the reasons the enemy wants so badly to keep us bound in our thinking is because it keeps us from creativity.
It keeps us from freedom. Liberty, freedom is the atmosphere of creativity. Actually, in culture, it's either the atmosphere of freedom that's creativity or pain. A lot of people use pain for creativity. Thus country music. Oh, sorry. Sorry. Sorry. Sorry. I I can't believe I said that. I just offended at least half the crowd.
And and and [clears throat] I'm I'm I'm sorry, but I'm not sorry. All right. Let's let's just leave that. I I apologize [clears throat] to all. Uh actually, most of my family are country music fans, which shows you how effective my prayers are. >> [laughter] >> Where was I? All right. I'm back here.
Right mind, saved mind. I remind you, "Don't be conformed to this world, be transformed by the renewing of your mind." Transformation comes in the measure that our mind is renewed. Now, why would he want our mind renewed? Obviously, to think like Christ. But in that posture, in that position, we have access to realms of creativity that we don't have access to otherwise.
It's a strange story. I'll let you re- research it on your own, but it's in Zechariah chapter one. There's this moment where the scripture says four horns. Horns represent powers, authority. Four horns, four usually represents uh the earth, worldwide, north, south, east, west. So it's a global influence.
Four horns were raised up in the earth to terrify and torment the people of God. So four horns, authorities, realms were released into the earth to bring torment to the people of God. God's answer was to raise up four artisans. In other words, a global movement of creativity.
That was the solution. It It wasn't a new brand of military. It wasn't new weapons. It was people who are free enough in their relationship with Christ, their identity strong enough that they can think creatively about the situations that they face in life. And those creative expressions are actually manifestations of heaven on earth.
Remember, anxiety kills creativity. We move from creativity, in other words, being a a positive influence to the world around us, we shift from that to being survivors. Yes, amen. Amen. All right. Let's move on. Uh so he's clothed in his right mind, they were afraid. By the time you get to the end of the chapter, um the people uh uh the people of the city have chased Jesus and this new convert out of town.
The new convert's with Jesus saying, "I want to travel with you." Jesus says, "You can't come. Go back and tell them all the great things I've done for you." Which really looks cool on paper, but let's be honest, guy's been saved for an hour. He doesn't have, you know, that Jesus makes him in charge of the Jesus Christ Evangelistic Association for that region, and he's the only member.
He's He's like the only member. I mean, do you do you do you put the most demonized person you've ever seen in your life in charge of anything? I This guy wouldn't be qualified to pick up paper in most of our churches' parking lots, but Jesus made him in charge of the evangelistic thrust into a region.
So he goes back, and by the time you get to chapter seven, which uh theologians take as probably about a year later, 1 year later after this one guy's in this region that chased Jesus and the disciples out of town, by the time they come back in John in uh Mark chapter seven, every person from every village, every city comes to hear Jesus.
What happened? They chased him out, a year later they all come to hear him. What happened? I can't prove it, but I know I'm right. No, here's what I here's what I think. The devil has no authority. Would you agree with me on that? He has no authority.
As the scripture says, Jesus announced, "All authority's been given to me," which means there's someone out there who has none, which is the enemy. He's got no authority. So where can he get authority? He has to get it from those who have it. How do you usurp what belongs to another?
You have to bring them into agreement. So the enemy talks until we agree. When you listen to a lie, and you change your heart from believing truth, gradually it happens, you begin to believe the lie. When I believe a lie, I empower the liar. Often times, and we've got to really up our game on this one, often times we empower the enemy through our words.
Many people unintentionally ac- actually make covenants with the powers of darkness through their cursing, and I don't mean saying bad words, I mean saying speaking negatively towards an individual, towards a given situation. They actually curse their children who are not living right. They'll They'll speak things that are There's life and death in the power of the tongue, and sometimes covenants are made where the enemy feeds on the words that we speak that are completely outside of God's word, completely outside of his purpose and his plan.
So this one man, I believe, was the point of contact for a principality, a demonic realm over a region. Jesus sent him back to a region. As I'm told, there were 10 cities in this region. Jesus sent him back to 10 cities. He went back with his story, and that's all.
But because he was now delivered from that point of contact, from the demonic realm, this 10-city area was clear to think and to see correctly. The [snorts] demonic influence over their values, over their appetites, over their thoughts had been broken because the one man was delivered. Jesus did not teach his disciples how to pull down principalities.
He taught them how to love broken people. And then deliver through the ministry of the spirit, bring deliverance and healing and salvation to broken people. That breaks the contact that empowers the enemies. That makes sense, too. So, here we see uh Jesus comes into this area and now the people that chased him out of town are now running to hear him speak.
Why? Cuz they can think clearly. They can see clearly. Go with me to Luke chapter 10. You guys all right? >> [clears throat] [clears throat] >> Luke chapter 9 is um Let me give you just a a real quick run-through. It's what we studied a little bit more intently back in January.
In Luke 9, Jesus commissions his 12 disciples to go into their hometowns two by two. To go into their hometowns and to bring his message the kingdom of heaven is at hand. They were assigned to heal people, deliver them, etc. And they come back and they bring their reports and there's a celebration together of all that God had done.
But what follows is the fascinating part to me. The very next part of the story is the disciples are arguing with each other as to who is the greatest. Jesus corrects that problem. The very next scene they are talking about how they didn't allow this one group to pray deliverance for somebody who was demonized.
And the disciples told them to knock it off. You're not following Jesus like we are. We are the ones assigned to do this. So, that problem Jesus corrected. And then James and John had the brilliant idea of calling down fire to kill an entire city of people in Jesus' name.
We'll give you all the glory, God. To kill all these people because they oppose the gospel. So, we have this self-preservation. We have competition. We have uh elitism. We've got all this stuff developing in a group of 12 people that have been assigned to change the world. In chapter 10, verse 1, after these things, what things?
After the disciples were arguing as to who is the greatest, elitism, hatred, and fire, and killing people. After these things, the Lord appointed 70 others also. And he sent them two by two before his face into every city and every place where he himself was about to go.
I know we've stated this before, but I want you to see to me the seriousness of this moment. For most of us, we would see the experiment with the 12 and say it didn't work because look at the character of the people as they ministered in power. They came back and they were in competition with each with each other.
We need to rethink the plan. Jesus didn't do that. He increased the number of people involved. Why? Because when it's an elite few, the opportunity for competition, the opportunity for elitism is exaggerated. When you spread it out over a multitude of people, no individual stands out. Now, all of a sudden, it's about the responsibility.
It's not about my gifting versus yours. Jesus took what was on the 12, gave it to 70 others, and as we know through the scripture, it was then to be passed on to the entire church. How do we know that? Matthew 28:19 is the Great Commission. Go into all the world, preach the gospel.
You know the story. Then he says, "Teach them everything I taught you." What did he teach them? He taught them how to bring deliverance. He taught them how to bring healing. It was always meant to be passed on to every generation of disciples, Jesus' followers. I am not Pentecostal and then a disciple.
I'm not Catholic and then a disciple. I'm not Methodist and then a disciple. I'm a disciple of Jesus and then I'm whatever tribe I am. Being a disciple of Jesus defines who I am and what my responsibility is, not my history. Not the title. So, I'm a disciple of Jesus.
And every disciple was given the mandate. We also know this from Ephesians 4. Ephesians 4 gives us the great instruction about apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, teachers are given to do what? To equip the saints for the work of service. What is the work of service? That. Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers.
There'll always be generals that hand out equipment, but the work is to be done by the family. And the more it's embraced by the family, no one individual stands out. That's essential because of how we are. I remember Chris shared a story years ago that really touched me.
He He was asking the Lord that you know, we have all of us have a lot of heroes of the faith in in church history. And there's one in particular that really stood out to him and and does to me as well. Uh I'll let him tell the story who it is.
But there's somebody he he really admired in history. He said, "Lord," he said, "I I I would like to have that man's anointing. I would like to that you'd use me the same way that you used him." And the Lord spoke very clearly to him and said, "You couldn't handle it.
It would It would destroy you." And his response was, and this is the moving part to me. His response was, "Well, then Lord, don't just give it to me. Give it to the whole family." I don't know if you caught that. If you give it to me and I stand out, then the answer shouldn't be we don't want to move in that kind of anointing or power.
Do it in such a way that everyone walks in that kind of anointing. That way there's no competition. It's about glorifying you with the manifestation of your life and your power in the church. And when he prayed that, he felt the pleasure of the Lord. That story has really a story of Chris has really has moved me because that's really what we're talking about here.
Now, when you get to verse 17, it says, "Then the 70 returned saying, 'Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name.'" And he said to them, "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven." Stop right there. I saw Satan fall like lightning. Jesus never said that when the 12 went out.
Jesus never said that when the 12 were released. It was when the larger company of people went into an area, they had so disrupted the spiritual realm not by attacking demons, but by loving people. They had so disrupted that Jesus said, "I saw Satan himself, not a demon, not a principality.
I saw Satan himself fall like lightning." What happened? There There was a disruption with the agreement that the enemy had with the lives in the hearts of people. And they went out en masse with the same purpose, the same understanding that our assignment is to bring the life of Christ into the broken situation of this world.
And when they did that, Jesus' testimony was, "I saw Satan fall like lightning." The ministry of the gospel from Luke 10 on is completely different than before. The deliverance is the way things happen after this point. They were completely different. Jesus sent them out two by two. Here Here's the point I I want to try to make and I'll I'll try to hit this a little better in that couple weeks.
Jesus sent them out two by two. Why? Cuz we're just better together. The scripture says, "Wherever two or three of you are gathered in my name, there I am in the midst." Why? Cuz we're better together. If two of you agree as to touching anything on earth, it will be done for you in heaven.
What's the point? The point is the government of God is most clearly demonstrated in the unity of simply two or three people that make a point of contact to agree for the transformation of a given situation. And it does not stop when we start thinking in terms of the state of California.
California historically is a state of great revival. Azusa Street impacted the entire globe. That's not an exaggeration. Missions uh um experts will tell you that what took place in Southern California in 1906 actually has impacted the entire globe of what happened there. The Jesus people movement, the late '60s.
Charismatic renewal, '60s and '70s where the Holy Spirit was being outpoured in in Catholic churches and Episcopal, different kinds of churches that what was commonly known to experience that kind of a a move of God. All these things have taken place in California. I'm not trying to exalt California in a unhealthy sense.
I'm just saying there's a mandate of God on this state. It hasn't been canceled. It hasn't been removed. It has been perverted. It has been distorted. And it's happened on our watch. It's happened while you and I have been meeting here. That's not a point of shame. It's a point of responsibility.
I believe that by with the renewed mind and intentional display and practicing of the principles of God, we can see church cities become transformed cities. Not just through attendance, but through transformation of society and culture itself. Changing atmosphere with that point of contact that the demonic has had through this broken life and this broken family and this particular business.
Those things are broken because the gospel comes and brings healing. I I know Jesus is coming back. And he's coming back for spotless bride. And I rejoice in that. But I'll tell you many people Many people don't have the blood of Jesus as that which sets them free.
They don't think they'll be free till Jesus returns. In other words, he'll come to vindicate. And listen, his return is going to be the most glorious thing ever. So I I in no way want to diminish the significance. But the sobering reality is that many people have greater faith in the return of Christ than they do in the power of the gospel.
The power of the gospel. The power of the gospel. The power of the gospel is enough to transform one individual life. This is before the cross with God. The man of the Gadarenes is set free, in his right mind, an entire region is shaken by this man's life.
How much more when those lives are hundreds and thousands of people in whom the Holy Spirit dwells and is looking for manifestation. You and I have the privilege of hosting the spirit of God in such a way that atmospheres are changed. I'm not talking about controlling things. I'm talking about yielding our way into this atmosphere of heaven itself.
There is a lifestyle available that is more than just fancy words on a page. But it's actually living engaged with the spirit of God from heaven to earth. It is how Jesus lived. In a couple weeks I'll I'll try to tie the knot on this one and give it a a much more specific agreement.
But here's what I want to encourage you in. The government of God is demonstrated in the unity of two people. Two believers that come into unity of faith with Jesus himself. I love the prayers of a thousand. I love the prayers of a million. But give me two people that will agree, they can change anything.
And that's the point of contact where you and me in our homes, spouses, parents, children, workplace, employees, employer employee, agreements [snorts] together, we purpose to to make this agreement to give the spirit of God a place where he can come and transform and heal California and restore us to the state that becomes apostolic, which means we become the servant of all.
And we become the people that actually through creativity and through the outpouring of the spirit release something into the earth again that heals nations. It not only can happen, it must happen. And it must happen not because I think it's a good idea, but because we think. There's got to be the we.
There's got to be There's got to be the realization I'm just better with you. We are better together. Why don't you stand? Take >> [clears throat] [clears throat] >> one of the prophets of God who lived in our lifetime saw over 100 times open visions of stadiums being filled with no special speaker, no special band, just spontaneous gathering of people to worship Jesus.
Newscasters saying, "We actually don't have any bad news tonight. I'm just telling that there are things happening. People have been raised in the death from the dead in this stadium. They've been delivered of demons in in these nude ca- newscasts nude casts." That would be That would be amazing.
That would Now, it's not one I want to watch. I'll I'll I just let's be clear on that one right here. News cast. You didn't catch it, but I did. I want you to dream about it. I want you to dream about it. What would it look like?
What would it look like for you to host the presence of the spirit of God so powerfully in your home that neighbors come and say, "What did you do? What is it?" Father, I ask that you'd mark us with the glory. Mark us with the glory and give us the wisdom, the grace for intentional living in this next season.
We ask for your mercy. Heal us as a nation. Heal us as a state. Restore us. Restore us as a state that hosts your presence and your purpose in the earth. I pray this in Jesus' name. In Jesus' name. Thank you. Let me ask the question if there's anyone here you don't have a personal relationship with Jesus.
But you know you've been brought here for for this very thing. You have the opportunity to come into relationship with the almighty God where you are forgiven and you're brought into his family. He adopts you as a son, as a daughter. And you learn what it is to actually live born again.
If there's anybody in that position, I want you to just put a hand up and I'm going to make an agreement with you as soon as you do. Just want to see your hand. Just put your hand up real quickly. You're just saying, "I want to give my life to Jesus.
I want to follow him. I want to be a dis- disciple of Jesus." If that's you, put a hand up real quick. Okay, I'm going to assume you're all in. Bless. Bless. Bless. Now, hold your places just for a moment. Come and wrap this up for us. And ministry team, if you could come to the front, that would help us out a lot right now.
Thanks. Let's give it up for Pastor Bill right now. >> ((applause)) >> So incredible. So incredible. If we could have our ministry team, please come up forward real fast before anybody heads out. We would love our ministry team to be able to get up front here. And please, if you're on the ministry team, a lot of our students are away.
So we would love to invite you up here to come and some of our staff. Find a spot. Um so encouraging. Man, I just want to go after one thing. If you felt like what Haley Braun was going after in the transition time of really going after that joy and celebration.
And if it's been a really intense season where it's been hard to find joy, I want to encourage you to come up to the front and have somebody pray for you for the oil of gladness to hit you and your family. Been doing it in my own house.
Just listening to songs of joy, making me and my kids dance around our kitchen and our backyard. And they're like, "What are we doing, Dad?" I go, "It's a new season and we have to celebrate it even if I don't feel it yet." And I've just been doing it.
So I want to encourage you, something is lifting off right now, families, with the oil of joy. Amen? Amen. So with that, be blessed. Um have a great rest of your Sunday. Go and enjoy the sun together. Maybe grab somebody and go out to eat, have a picnic, go on a walk at Lima Ranch.
There's so many good things to do in the spring at Redding. If you would love though to come forward and get prayer, our wonderful ministry team, if you could please raise up your hand to show people that you are available. Wow. Yay. What a service this morning. Uh worship was so beautiful.
I was getting some texts during worship just saying how beautiful it was, how pure. So good. And then Pastor Bill, so good. Just going after unity at the end and just the supernatural. I love Pastor Bill. You have a few things that you were saying you want to pray for them.
Let's go for it. >> Yeah, so good to I feel like I haven't listened to him preach for a little while. >> Yes, so good to have Pastor Bill. Yes. >> so good to be here. Um and so good to have you guys with us. We'd love to pray for you. >> Yes.
Um some of the things that stuck out for me is uh the devil doesn't mind a passive Christian. True story. Um and maybe just to pray for if God's been kind of prodding you with that thing that you're just a churchgoer and feeling a little more activation. Um I can tell you one thing we won't we won't be able to convince you.
We will ask the Holy Spirit to begin to speak to speak to us. We all need it. Um I'm going to pray for some healing and over unity. So, if um if you have any prayer requests, why don't you stick it Yeah, put it on the chat for us. >> through that.
We we really want to trust that there's some testimonies from today. Amen. Yeah, we're still looking at those now. Yes. Thank you, Jesus. Yeah. I'm going to pray for creatives, sorry. >> Yes, no, go for it. Go for it. >> I'm going to pray for creatives. Um Paula, very creative.
Amazing creative. Um It's so funny cuz while he said that, I was like, "Oh, I I've been going through this hard season and this week I was like, I really feel like I'm supposed to create something out of the to come out of this hard season, you know?"
And while he was saying that, I was like, "Wow, that makes sense what I was feeling this week, for sure." Yeah. Yeah, and you've got a neuroscience um scientist or a doctor, neuroscientist on your team. >> Oh, yes, I do. And we were chatting this week and it's very interesting that both said that is that your brain works in these different wavelengths and if your brain's in beta, it's hard decision.
It's fantastic if you're getting chased by a bear. Wow. >> what to do. >> Yes. You're making great decisions, but in that state of beta, you have to get down to alpha, which is your a state of rest and creativity. In other words, you can't actually physically create when you're in a state of stress.
Wow. And so, it's really amazing when he's talking about the devil's happy to to to put stress around you to put you in the state of stress because he knows that it's very tough to create there. So, we'd love to pray for your minds to >> Thank you, Jesus. >> come down to a even to a physiological, not just a theoretical, but actually physiologically bring you down to a place of of rest and creativity.
Let's start there. Amen. Lord, we just thank you Thank you, Jesus. >> are a creator Yes. and you have a plan for your created to create. And Lord, I just pray right now, Lord, that a grace But even when we prayed about peace in the beginning of this, Lord, that peace would rest on hearts and heads and minds.
Yes, thank you, Jesus. >> thank you, Lord, that there's any creative block. We just say that that's ends right right now. Amen. >> And Lord, we ask, Lord, not just for painting, Lord, but if I look at at Paula even, she's a picture of a a a a singer, songwriter, creative, but she's an amazing creative businesswoman.
And I just ask, Lord, that there will be this grace that come upon the businessmen and women here. >> Amen. Amen, Jesus. That it wouldn't just be uh standard issue solutions, but there would be a desire to know that the Holy Spirit can create new things and new ways and creative solutions.
Lord, I thank you that this will be a week that that creative block comes off and Lord, we have dreams, signs, wonders, miracles, open visions, Lord. Lord, we've got a testimony in this house, Lord, that I can Chris and Richard Gordon where you download algorithms, Lord. We ask, Lord, for the unusual the unusual Holy Spirit creative moments, Lord. >> Yes, Lord. >> That can affect society, affect our homes, affect our businesses.
And we ask for testimonies this week for that, Lord. >> Yes, in Jesus' name. Yeah. And I really feel to pray um for people both if you need healing in your body, but also for boldness to pray for healing. I'm seeing uh many people on the chat writing about like family members that need healing.
And I just want to pray right now for this boldness for you to actually go and call this person and declare healing in Jesus' name. Yeah, >> and um really partner with Holy Spirit. It's it's a lot of what Bill was sharing today. There's there's this invitation for us as believers to walk in miracles, to see healings happening, people being delivered in front of us, but we have to actually walk in the boldness of like, I can I can pray for the sick.
I can pray for my father. I can pray for my brother, my sister, my cousin. Sometimes it's so hard for us to feel like we can do something for someone who's close to us. I was like, "Oh, if it's someone that is like I don't know and I just have to pray for you in the prayer line at church, it's easy.
But if it's for my father, for someone close to me, I feel a little bit shy because they know me. They don't know me as the the spiritual supernatural person." But actually, I feel like there's this invitation this morning for you to go and for you to pray over these people.
Uh and just uh simple prayers. Don't feel like you have to carry this huge weight of like, "Oh, this is the right words. This is how I'm supposed to say it." Just I I just really want to encourage you today. Uh if you know someone in your family, uh I'm seeing you Carolina writing on the chat about your father.
Someone else was writing about uh a biopsy that someone in their family was going to go through this week. I really feel to just um encourage you to be that person today, to call this person and say, "I declare healing right now over your body in Jesus' name."
So good. Someone's asking, "How do I how do I receive that healing for my my family? How do I pray for healing?" So easy. Just remember you are a son and you are a daughter. You are not begging for anything. You don't have to uh be a beggar.
You can literally put your hand on the person and say, "I declare healing over your body in Jesus' name." Like someone is writing in the chat, "Healing for paralysis." Exactly. I declare healing over paralysis in Jesus' name. Um I saw uh the the nodule on your father's thyroid.
Just declare I declare that this nodule is going to uh disappear right now in Jesus' name. I command this thyroid to uh work properly in Jesus' name. So, I just want to encourage you this morning to to to just go for it. Pray for your family members. And I really do feel like there's something powerful that's going to come as we are we come twos and threes.
Invite more people from your family to come and join and just pray for each other. I really feel like there's breakthrough in that this morning in Jesus' name. I saw someone um your right ankle twisted it this morning. Um I see uh on your on the right side of your right ankle, it's like very very sharp pain.
I declare healing right now in Jesus' name. Come on. >> Jesus' name. Thanks, Lord. Yeah, thank you, Jesus. >> seeing here um I think Eric writes a message. I can't remember. There we go. Um he prayed for some uh Jesus healed my friend Josiah over the phone. And I'll just even extend what Paula's saying.
Yes. Um the same way that you've got a belief system that God can touch you right now over YouTube. Yes. Reach out with your phones. Get on FaceTime. Pray for your family. >> Pray for your family. >> faith that you have for all this moment, uh I just encourage you to to reach out.
I've had many many testimonies of phoning friends and >> Yes. and them getting full of the power of God on the other side of the phone, getting healed. >> Yes. Uh and God it really it's really really really powerful powerful testimony and and very very possible. So, we just extend your faith.
And it can feel so vulnerable. Someone to say Someone was writing on the chat, "You're writing Portuguese." They were saying, "I need courage for this." I it it can feel vulnerable cuz it's someone so close to you, but it's a beautiful way to show the power of the body of Christ when we come together and we believe together.
So, just call this person and just say, "Can I pray for you today?" And just do a simple prayer. It's not about being a super fancy, full of words prayer. Simple prayers, but just believing together, two and three agreeing in Jesus' name for healing in Jesus' name. Yeah. >> and if you've got faith now, do it right now.
Don't talk yourself out of it. >> Do it right now. Yeah, send that text, make that call. And don't talk yourself out of it. Yes. Yeah, and I just want to pray right now for any fear, any uh lies that the enemy's saying about this. It's not about your power to heal people, it's about Jesus' power to heal people.
You're just going to be the person getting on the phone and doing that call. Yes. Yes. Guys, thank you so much for joining us this morning. What a service. It was so fun. And we want to hear all the testimonies next week. Come on the chat and share how it was praying for your family and your friends.
And I just want to pray right now. Holy Spirit, bless their week. I pray right now for boldness. I pray right now for unity. Even as Brad was praying for our creatives, I pray for clarity of mind that they will just be able to come out of this I see like this cloud of stress.
I see you guys coming out of this cloud of stress and just being able to flow with the Holy Spirit and just embrace his peace and joy. So, we pray that over our online community for this week in Jesus name. We love you guys. It was so fun to be together.
Anything else you would like to say? No, we love you. We love you. It's been fun. Have a great Sunday. Have a great Sunday. Ciao ciao, friends. Bye-bye.
