Bless your people Lord mightily today through your word I pray reveal your love your glory your beauty to each one in Jesus precious name I give you all the praise amen and amen and thank you again for being my wonderful family and partners and I have with me Lucas to help us read today I want to talk about how the word of God makes Jesus so real to us listen to a scripture from John 14:21 where the Lord says that himself about his word that makes him real.
Okay, go ahead please. Lucas John 14:21. >> He that hath my commandments. >> Now that means my word or the scriptures. >> He that hath my commandments. Go ahead. >> And keepeth them. >> Keepeth them means guard them or protect them from loss. >> Keep your eyes on them. >> Right. maintain them, hold fast to them.
So he that has my commandments, my word, the scriptures, and guards them, >> will not allow them to be lost. It's always keeping their eyes on them and maintains them, holding fast to them. Then he says, >> he it is that loveth. >> Ahuh. See how powerful? >> Yeah.
He that has my commandments and keeps my commandments is one who loves me. And then it says something else. Go ahead. >> And he that loveth me shall be loved of my father. >> And then he prom and he promises >> and I will love him and will manifest myself to him. >> Powerful powerful powerful.
I will love him and I will manifest. I'll make myself real. that would manifest also means appear or exhibit in person or make known myself to him. So when I read this I'm thinking Lord give me more to share with the people about how your word makes you so real because that's what it says in John. >> Yeah.
You know, the Bible says in John 8:56, how Abraham rejoiced to see the Lord's day. He said, "Abraham rejoiced to see my day." And I like you to read Hebrews 11:26 because this is a powerful scripture about Moses. It says, "How he esteemed the reproach of Christ greater than the riches and treasures of Egypt."
Yeah, >> read that because I like to explain that. >> Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt, for he had respect unto the recompense of the reward. >> Now, you know what? So, how did Abraham see the Lord's day? Go back to John 8:56. >> Yes. >> What where was that revealed to him?
And and how about Moses? Where did God reveal Christ to him? Okay, read read John 8:56. >> Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day and he saw it and was glad. >> So So somewhere there in the old covenant, God revealed his son to Abraham. >> And I believe that was on Mount Moriah when when Isaac said, "Where is the sacrifice?" >> Yeah.
Amen. And he said, "God will provide himself a lamb." And he saw the Messiah. >> It had to be that. >> That's good. >> And with Moses, I believe that was on the mount of Si >> when God Almighty spoke to him and he went back to Egypt. >> Yeah. >> And God revealed to him his word in his heart and mind.
And so he esteemed the reproach of Christ. Go back and read that again. Hebrews 11:26. >> Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt. >> You know, and we wonder when did that happen? Like did it happen before Sinai or after Sinai? >> I don't know that it happened before Sinai because it says nothing about him seeing God and hearing his voice.
When the Lord appeared to him, he said, "What is your name, >> right? >> Whom whom shall I say sent me?" >> That's good. Yeah. >> So, it had to be after that. >> And God Almighty when he revealed him himself to him. Moses was a was a changed man and then he saw the Lord.
He saw the Messiah and later he saw him again and again and again. And when he went back to Egypt, he saw where he came from. >> He saw his past, >> right? >> And was glad he was not a part of it. >> Yeah. >> And there's more probably that happened there that we don't know about that.
We will know when we get to heaven. >> Right. >> So, um I believe we have to hear his word, God's word with our heart, not just our ears. Yeah. >> And then we can see him with our spiritual eyes. And that's what what what happened to Abraham.
That's what happened to Moses because you have to hear him first. Job said in Job 42:5. He said, "I've I've I've heard about you with the hearing of my ear." That's where it all begins. >> Yeah. >> But then something happens to your heart. Go ahead and read Job 42:5. >> I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear, but now mine eye seeth thee. >> So the more we hear the word of God, eventually that word will get into our hearts and a change will happen in our hearts.
That's what meditation is all about. where we receive the word, receive the word, receive the word, receive the word. And that word like a hammer begins to break that rock of the flesh in pieces in us begins to release us from the bondage of the mind and the flesh and the world that has captured our mind.
And now that word becomes life to us as we meditate upon the scriptures. And now a hunger begins in us like it did with me about 14 years ago. when I said I'm going to read the word three times every every year, one times every four months, and I've been doing it since.
I'm telling you people of God, it's changed my life. It changed who I am because I have read and reread and read and reread the Bible. all the Bible, every part of the Bible, asking God to open my eyes, asking God to show me the wonders of his word, asking God to establish his word in my life and my life and his word.
And I'm reading and I'm reading and I'm reading that began years ago about 2020 2010 or somewhere there. >> Yeah. >> And now I'm I'm like I look back and I'm amazed at the change in me because I want to finish stronger than when I began. And only the Bible can give you that strength to say that and to want that and to live that because I think what happens is the more we begin to see the Lord in scripture because that's what happens when you read and read and read and reread asking the Holy Spirit to open your understanding. >> When you when you see the Lord through his word, you want to run after him.
Yeah, >> you want you you you want more. And something happens to you without you knowing it. He begins to draw you into his beauty, draw you into his perfection. And this is where something happens. Listen to me carefully. You begin where you see him first as savior.
We all begin there. But the more you continue in scripture, oh dear God, help me say it just right, the more you continue in this in the word of God, the more you begin to discover how many crowns he wears. >> Look at Revelation 19 verse verse 12.
It says he saw crowns on his head. Read that. His eyes were as a flame of fire and on his head were many crowns. >> You know, I don't think we can discover those many crowns. Each one means something about the Lord. >> Wow. >> And so, so there's depth there when you talk about Revelation 19:12.
There's death. What are those many crowns? Well, the Song of Solomon, I think, gives us some of them. M >> let's go to the Solom song of Solomon chapter 5 verse 16. We begin to see the his loveliness, his beauty, his glory, his awesome glory beyond anything that the the the mind can comprehend.
And so it says >> his mouth is most sweet. >> Yeah. You see, I think the crowns upon his head deal with who he is. >> Yeah, definitely. Not just his power. Who is this Jesus? >> Because if you read that re in Revelation, go go go back to verse 19.
Notice what he says first. It says his mouth. >> Yeah. >> Read that again. >> Revelation 19:12. His eyes were as a flame of fire. >> And on his head were many crowns. And he had a name written that no man knew but he himself. >> But go back to the Song of Solomon >> 15 uh sorry 5:16.
It says his mouth, his mouth, read that. >> His mouth is most sweet. >> Ah, something about the way he speaks. Something about his words. >> Yeah. >> So sweet. And then it says, "But he's altogether lovely." >> Yeah. >> So you look at Revelation 19, you look at the Song of Solomon, it shows you something about the Lord. >> Yeah. you you you begin to to to see the wonders and and and it says in in the Song of Solomon, can you read uh uh uh chapter 5 verse verse 10- 16? >> Yeah. >> In fact, and oh, there's so much in there.
Go ahead. Go ahead. >> My beloved is white and ruddy, the chiefest among 10,000. >> The chiefest among 10,000. That goes beyond Please hear this. It goes beyond knowing him as savior. Now you know him as your most the delight of your soul, the lover of your soul, the one who's altogether lovely, the one whose words are sweeter than honey. >> That's right. >> The one who who who who is literally life.
You know, I I I'm I'm gonna I'm gonna uh uh teach a song one day. Jesus is Lord. Creation's voice proclaims it for by its power each tree and flower was plant and made. Jesus is Lord. The universe declares that sun, moon, and stars in heaven cry Jesus is Lord.
And then >> amen. >> Jesus is Lord. from him or life proceeded >> yet gave his life a ransom thus setting us free. Jesus is Lord. Wow. And I love this part. Jesus is Lord over sin, the mighty conqueror. From death he rose and all his foes shall know his name.
Jesus is Lord. God sent his hol his holy spirit to show by works of power. Jesus is Lord. You know, I we used to sing those songs back in the early days of the charismatic renewal. Today, they mean more to me than they meant back then. Like, you are my everything.
You are my all. You are my everything, both great and small. You gave your life for me, made everything new. You are my everything. I love you. Now I mean it. Back then I sang it. Now I mean it. You know >> because you see him first as savior >> but you're not there.
You're there's no depth >> or fairest lord Jesus lord of all nature. You sing it. Oh my Jesus I love thee. I know thou art mine. You sing it but today you like it's coming from the depth of your soul. Keep reading verse verse 11 right through to 16.
Well reread verse 10. I love this. >> My beloved is white and ruddy. the chiefest among 10,000. >> Keep going. >> His head is as the most fine gold. His locks are bushy and black as a raven. His eyes are as the eyes of doves by the rivers of waters. >> You know, I wish I could teach on that, but there's no time.
It just shows you the beauty of Jesus and all this. Keep going. >> Washed with milk and fitly set. His cheeks are as a bed of spices, as sweet flowers. His lips like >> Imagine like sweet flowers. Keep going. >> His lips like liies dropping sweet smelling myrr.
His hands are as gold rings set with the barrel. His belly is as bright ivory overlaid with sapphires. His legs are as pillars of marble. >> Now, you know, when you read that and you're young, you have no clue what you're reading. But now, as you get older, you see the beauty every, you know, I don't have time to teach on this.
It is very deep. >> Oh, yeah. >> It's very deep. Keep going. >> His legs are as pillars of marble set upon sockets of fine gold. His countenance is as Lebanon. Excellent as the cedars, his mouth is most sweet. Yay, he is altogether lovely. This is my beloved and this is my friend, oh daughters of Jerusalem. >> I love it.
Even his name, it says, is like fragrance poured forth. >> Yeah. >> Ain't that precious? >> It is >> name above all names we say in the song. That's true. And I pray that this will this will will will become uh how shall I say it that you will become occupied.
You will become occupied with Jesus from here on with his word. You're going to sit at at his feet like Mary the sister of Martha and you just say Lord I'm sitting at your feet. I want to receive your fullness. That that he will become your greatest delight, your chiefest delight.
That he'll become more and more precious every single day. Like in 1 Peter 2:7, it says to us, he's precious. But how is he precious? How does he become precious to us? Read read 1 Peter 2 verse 7. >> Unto you therefore which believe he is precious. which believe how you know how does faith come?
By the word. >> By the word. When we read the word of God and our faith begins to live, it says what? He becomes precious to us. >> Yeah. >> You can't know the preciousness of Jesus without seeing him in scripture. You know what happens to me when I read the Old Testament and I see him in the Old Covenant and I see the prophecies about him in the Old Covenant.
I melt. I melt. I start crying sometimes because I see his love. I see his wonders. I was reading to them Isaiah 4049 a few days ago. One day I'm going to I tell you, >> was that powerful what I showed you? >> So deep. the entire chapter of Isaiah 49.
Dear Lord, it's all about the Lord. >> Yeah. It explains everything that happened to him on the cross and before the cross and after the cross. And so Paul, now we see the cry in Paul in Philippians 3 beginning at verse 8 through through 10. I believe that's that cry will become our cry if we just lay aside everything begin to abhore the flesh and the world and start looking at the scriptures looking unto Jesus looking for Jesus a continual beholding of Jesus in his word it's not about the stories it's about him it's not about the prophecies.
It's about him. It's not about the history of Israel. It's about him, >> right? >> It's not about ad, you know, you know, Adam and Eve and and Noah and the ark and Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and David and the tribe of It's about the Lord, >> right? >> It's not about the tribes.
It's about the Lord. You see Jesus in in in such depth. That's how they found him in the early church. You know, we were reading about Israel in Isaiah. Sometimes God calls it stunt Israel. >> Yeah, that's right. >> Right in that chapter. >> Yeah. >> Now, people some say, "Well, Israel is a nation."
Not always. Not always. >> Mhm. >> Even Matthew says in the gospel, >> Yeah. >> and uses the portion from Hosea. >> Yeah. that Jesus was called Israel. I will bring my son out of Egypt. >> Right? >> They saw deeper things than we see. Today, we we're not looking at depth.
We're looking at things and we don't even understand what we're looking at. >> Yeah. >> The Bible is way deeper than about the history of a nation called Israel. Way deeper about what happened to them, about ceremonial laws and laws on this and laws on that. Paul began to cry out and said this in verse 8.
Listen carefully. Philippians 3. >> Yay. Yay. Doubtless and I count all things but loss. >> He was talking about all the education he had as a Jewish scholar. >> Yeah. >> He said, "I count all but loss. Everything I learned from Galiel, I count but loss." >> Wow. >> He went beyond that.
He even called it dung. >> Yeah, >> read it. >> I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord for whom I have suffered the loss of all things and do count them but dung. >> Think about that. This is this is shocking.
He's calling all his education as a younger man Saul of Tarsus in Jerusalem being taught by the most brilliant mind when it comes to to the law. >> Right. >> He says I can all but lost. Yeah. >> Why? For the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord. >> Yeah. >> Reread that please. >> Yay.
Doubtless and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord. >> It's not about all the details of the old covenant anymore. Is it >> exactly? >> Keep going. >> For whom I have suffered the loss of all things and do count them but dung that I may win Christ. >> And he suffered for rejecting the Old Testaments.
Well, what he had known as a young man, he didn't reject the old covenant. He just saw Jesus there rather than anything else. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> Keep keep going. >> And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith, that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death.
So, when you become more and more attached, and I'm going to go a little overtime today, so please let me because I'm stirred up a little bit. And when you become more and more attached and more and more engaged with the Lord's beauty, with the Lord's perfection in and through his word.
And when I say his word, I mean the Old Covenant, not just the New, especially the scriptures. That's what Paul said. There was no New Testament when Paul wrote those words. >> Yeah. >> In Philippians. >> Exactly. You will begin to love the Lord in a way that you never thought possible.
You'll begin to adore him more and more and more because now you become so attached to him through his word. And you'll say something to him and mean it. You'll say, "Whom do I have in heaven but you?" like David, you say, "And I don't desire nobody on earth but you."
That's what you'll say. Now, that psalm was written by Assaf, who was influenced by David. I think he from David anyways. >> Yeah. >> Whom have I in heaven but thee? Psalm 73:25. Whom have I in heaven but thee? >> Yeah. And there is none upon the earth that I desire beside thee.
This is true Christianity right here. >> Yeah. When you lose all desire for everything on the planet and everything else and you focus on one person and as your fellowship and as your love deepens more and more now you everything in you wants to please him. You know back then years ago I said to to David do do blessing.
Well you know how can I please God? Then he put his finger on my chest and said, "It's not your ability, it's his." Today I understand what he meant. Back then I had no clue. God works works in you where suddenly it explodes when you're older. It took years for me to feel what I'm feeling to to to want what what I'm wanting.
I don't want to disappoint him anymore. I don't want to hurt him anymore. Every day all I want is Lord help me, please you. Please show me how to do it. Enable me to do it. Live your life in me in a way where I would do it.
I hate my flesh. I hate this miserable existence. Like Paul, oh wretched man that I am, who will deliver me from this body of destruction and death? You want to be free? So our love deepens, our fellowship deepens. Now we want to please him. We we we lose desire for our own selves.
Look at 2 Corinthians 5 uh 5:14 and 15. And you get to that place that Paul now talks about. And he got there himself when he said these words. Listen. Please read them and listen to. >> For the love of Christ constrainth us. The love of Christ constrains us >> because we thus judge that if one died for all, then we're all dead. >> We're all dead.
If he died for us, we're all dead. >> Yeah. >> We don't want to live for ourselves or unto ourselves. >> Read verse, keep going right through verse 15. >> And that he died for all that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, >> but unto him which died for them and rose again.
That becomes your your desire. That becomes your your delight. Because when you want to please him, you say those words. And now we begin to delight in his commandments, his word. There's an amazing scripture in John 14 verse 23 about this. And and well, just read it, please. >> Yeah. >> Are you enjoying this?
Mhm. So enjoying this. Yes, sir. Thank you. >> But if you are, then they are. >> That's right. >> John 14:23. >> Jesus answered and said unto him, "If a man love me, he will keep my words. >> He will keep my words. He'll keep my commandments >> and my father will love him and we will come unto him and make our abode." >> Okay.
So if you love the Lord, you'll delight in his word. >> That's right. >> Read that again. >> Jesus answered and said unto him, "If a man love me, he will keep my words. he will keep or guard my words. You'll begin to protect the word of God.
You don't want to lose it. You You don't want it to to to to be separate from your heart and life. If you love If you love the Lord, you're going to love his word. You're going to love everything he said. And and now the father will love you as a result.
And they'll make the raot with you. What an amazing promise that the Trinity makes you their house. And doesn't it say in 1 Corinthians 6, we are the temple? Yeah. Bought with a price. Look at 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. And sometimes we read this and we're not even paying attention to what we're reading. >> Yeah. >> Go ahead.
What? Know ye not? >> Like like he was surprised. Don't you know? >> Exactly. >> Yeah. Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, >> which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price.
Therefore, glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's. And and our greatest longing now is that we would see him face to face because now we've come to that place that he has made his abode in us and now all we want is one prayer answered.
John 17:24. We want that so so so bad in our heart. >> Yeah. >> And Jesus prayed that prayer when he said, >> "Father, I will that they also whom thou hast given me be with me where I am, that they may behold my glory." >> What a day that would be, >> which is going >> which thou hast given me.
For thou lovest me before the foundation of the world. You know, David said, "As for me, I will behold your face and righteousness." >> Yeah. >> "I'll be satisfied when I awake with your likeness." Psalm 17:15. >> Yeah. >> But I love John 17:20-24. Cuz that is the prayer of Jesus.
That prayer will be fulfilled on that glorious day when we see his wonderful face. >> Go ahead. Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also. That is his longing. >> That is his longing. Now it's my longing. >> Yeah. >> 2,000 years ago, he prayed his prayer of longing.
I will the day that you gave me be with me what I am. >> Yeah. But he starts in verse 20 by saying, >> "Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word, that they all may be one, as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us, that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
And the glory which thou gavest me, I have given them." >> That's incredible. >> That's incredible. >> Keep going. >> That they may be one even as we are one. >> One unity. >> Keep going. I in them and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one. >> That is the Lord's longing.
Keep going. >> And that the world may know that thou hast sent me and hast loved them as thou hast loved me. Father, I will that they also whom thou hast given me be with me where I am, that they may behold my glory which thou hast given me.
For thou lovest me before the foundation of the world. You know the Lord in Isaiah 53:11 it says will be satisfied when he sees that his work brought the church in. >> Yeah. >> He shall see his seed and be satisfied. >> Yeah. >> Read that. >> He shall see of the travail of his soul and shall be satisfied. >> Yeah. >> By his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many.
He shall be there. >> He shall see the church by the travail of his soul. Read that again. It's so powerful. He shall see of the travail of his soul and shall be satisfied. >> Now he sees the church, it says also. And now he'll say, "Ah, it's done."
His greatest desire is to have a church with him. >> And in first John 3 uh verse two, it says, "We shall be like him on that day." >> Yeah. But I like to read Revelation 21 verse 1-7. And we're going to close with Revelation 22:4 and 5.
Yeah. >> Because this is that beautiful moment when God's church and the Lord are together. It says in Revelation 21:1-7, >> "And I saw a new heaven and a new earth. For the first heaven and the first earth were passed away, and there was no more sea. And I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride, adorned for her husband." >> What a beautiful day.
And I heard a great voice out of heaven, saying, "Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, >> and they shall be his people, >> and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes, and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away."
And he that sat upon the throne said, "Behold, I make all things new." And he said unto me, "Write, for these words are true and faithful." And he said unto me, "It is done. I am alpha and omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is a thirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
He that overcomemeth shall inherit all things, and I will be his God, and he shall be my son." >> Now, let's finish with Revelation 22 4 and 5. and I want to come and pray with you that God will give you such a deep longing to know him.
You know, Steve Fry wrote the song, "Oh, I want to know you more deep within my soul. I want to know you." Oh, I want to know. >> That's what we want to know the Lord. Paul said that I may know him. That I may know only through his word.
God cannot be known outside his word. And the Holy Spirit will make him known as you open your heart to the scriptures. And then it says in Revelation 22:4 and 5, >> "And they shall see his face and his name shall be in their foreheads." >> That's has become my prayer every single day now. >> Yeah. >> In addition to what I ask every morning, that is the an additional prayer I pray that I may see your face, Lord. that your name will be in my forehead on that.
And now go on and finish verse five. >> And there shall be no night there, and they need no candle, neither light of the sun, for the Lord God giveth them light, and they shall reign forever and ever. >> Now Lord, I thank you for your word. I thank you with all my heart for your word.
Lord, I pray that your word dwell richly, richly in every one of us. Establish your word in our life and our life in your word. Would you please say that after me to the Lord? Just say, Lord, establish your word in my life. Establish my life in your word.
Please dear Jesus make me an instrument of worship. Please dear Jesus take my life and let it be consecrated Lord to thee. Take my moments and my days. Let them flow in ceaseless way. Yes, that's what I want. I give you the praise. Amen and amen and amen.
Amen. May he place within you a hunger you've never known, a love you've never known. May his precious fire of love burn the world out of you. You become a holy vessel unto him. That you walk away from the world, the world behind you, the cross before you.
Don't turn your back. >> Yes. That you will deny the flesh and deny self and follow it. carry on your cross and follow. Oh Lord, thank you for being with me today. Thank you for letting me share this precious word with you. And thank you, Lucas, for helping me in reading the precious word of God. >> My pleasure. >> But I want you to be a partner.
