Good morning, good afternoon, good evening all around the world. I'm Cynthia Terry, president of Shabbach Ministries and today is Shabbach Ministries Day. We are so excited about the work that we're doing in the community. But before we get there, I would like to introduce to you Miss Latricia Laughlin family. Again, greetings to you. Happy Sunday. Y'all excited? We are excited. Of course, we're always excited about coming into worship. We're super excited today because we have the honor and the pleasure to work with Shabbach Ministries. And if you don't know what Shabbach is, don't you worry. Don't you worry cuz we're going to tell you all about it. But before we talk about Shabbach day, first we need to run it back. ((music playing)) ((music playing)) >> Come on, say, "But I know." ((music playing)) >> I know. >> Yeah. I'm a ((music playing)) for ((music playing)) >> and yet what are you going to do? Paul and Silas in the midst of their circumstances worship God. Oh, I I feel a shout right there. Somebody better pray. Lord, help me to be sold out to you and love you enough that if I get fired from my job, if I get talked about, if I get criticized, if all my friends turn their back on me, I will still love you. I will still worship you. I will still give you the praise and the honor. Do we have anybody here who says I am in that camp? Woo! As always, we have such an amazing, glorious time in worship. The choir was doing their good, good singing. You heard that, right, y'all? [laughter] >> And then also, pastor's message, a moment of crisis. All of us have a time when we experience that moment of crisis. What? >> Yes, we do. >> Oh, and you absolutely. Yes. And you have to know what to do when you're walking through that moment of crisis. And we're so grateful that we have a shepherd that is allow uh that's gifted and anointed to walk us through every every season. Right. >> Yes. And there were so many nuggets during that moment last week for me. It was if God has something that he's prophesizing over us. He's not going to send it to someone else. And when it gets to you, it's going to confirm something he's already told. >> Told you. A lot of times people say, "Well, God told me this for you." Well, guess what? He talks to me directly, too. >> Yes. We have a direct line. >> Exactly. >> Ain't that good? >> That's good. Good. [laughter] >> So, we we thank our shepherd always for, you know, the word that he gives us. So, speaking of, we want to know who's worshiping with us, right? >> Yes. >> So, put in the chat where you worshiping from. Oh, Reverend Sarah, we got some good things over here. You got the international. Who you want to shout out? >> I want to shout out Bise. >> Oh my goodness. Biz, Portugal, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Japan. >> She No, I won't go there. [laughter] >> Barbados. Yeah. Yeah. Let's give him a hand clap of praise. He's done too much. He's done too much not to honor him this morning. Amen. Our scripture this morning comes from Isaiah 40. Isaiah 40. beginning at verse 28 and it reads as such. Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, the creator of the ends of the earth, neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the weak and to those who have no might. He increases strength. Even the youth shall faint and be weary. And the young men shall utterly fall. Ah, here it goes. But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles. They shall run and not be weary. They shall walk and not faint. Hallelujah. >> Thank you, Lord. Let us pray. Father, we thank you for this day and for all that you've allowed us to uh get through to be here today, Father. Now, God, we ask that you would fall fresh in this place. Holy Spirit, draw our hearts to you, dear God. If there should there be any who who don't know you in the pardon of their sins, Father, we ask that you would bless them and keep them, dear God. We ask that you would draw them to you that they would become yours. Father, in Jesus name we pray and ask it all. Amen. >> Good morning family. That's the news for this week. To learn more about these events, monthly ((music playing)) gatherings, and all things FBCG, visit fBC glennharden.org. Hello everyone. Hello everyone. All right. And everyone online. I'm Cynthia Terry, president of Shabbach Ministries. And today is Shabbach Ministries Day. Woo. Shabbach Ministries is 30 years old this year. Amen. And I have been blessed with the honor to be the president of Shabbach for 20 years. I know they're telling each other, "She doesn't look like it. She doesn't look like it." Praise our God. We want to take this moment to thank Pastor Jenkins, First Lady, CMO Trina Jenkins, our leaders, elders, and all of you for your support over these years for Shabbach and the things that we have been able to do in the community. Our pastor says that he wants us to serve the community in such a way that if we left, they would cry. And pastor, I believe that you your ministry has been successful in doing just that. they would do that. Last year, we served over 165,000 households. That a household has multiple families. Could have one family, but at the beginning of the year last year, it had two families. When we got to the end of the year, a household had three families. So, we were able to serve 165,000 households in need with over a quarter of a million bags of groceries. Amen. That was done by our Shabbach Emergency Resource Center. And our manager is Mrs. Gwindelyn Alfreda Mackie Pope. I went to school to learn to say that right there. But we don't just want to give people food. We want to be able to train them so that they can get employed, better employed, or even if they want to change employment. So we also served over 500 people in skills building courses so that they can get a better job and that is led by Miss Latricia Laughlin. We would like to take a moment and thank our Shabbach board of directors members who are here if they would stand and if you've ever been a board member for Shabbach, please stand. Also, our volunteers, we would like to thank our volunteers. Please stand as well. And our staff, we have staff as well. Thank you so much. We couldn't do what we do without you. We've done a lot over the course of the year. And so, we have a little video for you to see so that you can just get a taste of what we do and how we've done it. If you would direct your attentions to the screens. Weapo [music and singing] is rising joy. We got to sing. This is ((music playing)) Hello everyone. I'm Cynthia Terry and this is Shabbach Live. Thank you for joining us because this is Shabbach's 30th anniversary and it's Shabbach Ministries Day. I have a special guest here with us today and she used to work for Shabbach. Her name ((music playing)) is Reverend W. Nikki Pearson. Thank you so much. >> It's a pleasure to be here. >> Oh, I know how busy you are. I'm just so excited that you had an opportunity to stop by so we could just talk a little bit about what you've done, what you did with Shabbach when you were with us and things that you're continuing to do to love and serve the community. We've got a lot of people that are are homeless, a lot of people who don't have food money to purchase food and and utilities are astronomical. And so the the role that I play now at First Baptist Church of Glenn Arden still connects with the community and Shabbach because we refer people back to Shabbach to the pantry. Anybody who's in need if you come to the empowerment center, if you come to the church, we're going to try to meet that need. But if we can't meet the need at the church, we certainly refer them to Shabbach. But then we've got our community um partners as well. So it's a community effort still. Now this next segment I call the sound of victory. >> The sound of victory. >> The sound of victory. >> Hello everyone. My name is Barbara Holtzer. My ((music playing)) first job here at First Baptist Church of Glenn Art was with Shabbach. I was the director of fund development. I was the one that had to help ((music playing)) raise funds for Shabbat. And we did that through the golf tournament. We hosted the first golf tournament and we hosted the first gayla. The first gayla we had Melba Moore. Can you believe it? And now 30 years later, I am making even a larger impact because you gave me an opportunity. We are now global from the community to the county to the country to all of the continents because of Shabbach. Thank you for allowing me to be part of the Shabbach family. Shabbach wouldn't have been able to exist as long as it has, 30 years, without faithful volunteers. Please join me in welcoming Mother Zarita Young. We are so happy to have you join us. >> I'm so glad to be here. So, if you could tell me one of the greatest experiences that you had at Shabbach, what would that be? When I heard the numbers that were given during our recent church meeting >> of the numbers of families that we have served in the past year >> and the numbers of bags of groceries >> that we took the time to pack. We're helping people >> in their time of need >> and they don't have to feel defeated, right? >> They don't have to feel like they're asking for charity. >> They're called clients. Yes. Yes. >> And that's the way they're treated like our brothers and sisters. >> Thank you for joining us for this episode of Shabbach Live. We thank all of our guests and we thank all of you. See you next time. Praise God. >> I just want to give a shout out to the production department because they created a jingle for us. What we also want to continue to thank all of you for your support and your love. At the end of service, please come out and greet me in the northx where we will have a QR code for you to be able to scan and get more information. Our leaders, our elders, our friends. Thank you. >> Amen. Come on y'all. Let's give Shabbach a hand one more time. All the work they've done. Reverend Terry, amazing job. Now, family, it's time for tithes and offerings. Family, we we thank you for being such obedient givers. Um, and because of your giving, we've been able to do amazing things both internationally and domestically. And your giving is what makes that happen. When you come in and see the lights and all the folks and the microphone that works, it's because of your obedient giving. Amen. >> I work on that joke, pastor. It didn't go over well. All right. There's several ways for you to be able to give. Okay? You can go to our website, fbcg glennard.org/give, and there's a three options there for you to choose electronic giving. You can give through those options. You can also write a check or give cash because it still works. Amen. >> In the C back pocket in front of you should be an envelope and you can take your gift. You can put it in that envelope and when you exit the sanctuary, there's some boxes, little wood boxes that you can deposit your gift in. All right. For our folks online or anybody who's just at home right now, if you want to mail your gift in, you can mail your gift in to 3600 Bright Sea Road, Landover, Maryland. Amen. Now family, let's pray. Father, we thank you for the gifts that are being given. We ask that you press them down, shake them together, and run them over. Lord, we ask that you would continue to give us wisdom and and to do with what's received the way that you would have it to be done. And bless everyone, dear God, who's being obedient. In Jesus name we pray and ask it all. Amen. >> ((music playing)) ((music playing)) >> said I wasn't going to tell [singing] nobody that I ((music playing)) >> couldn't keep >> said I wasn't going to tell nobody that I >> could ((music playing)) back to myself. >> Said I wasn't going to tell nobody but [music and singing] I couldn't >> said I wasn't going to tell [music and singing] nobody. I believe I'll go on a little bit longer. Think I press my way to the end. See what the end's going to be." I didn't come this far to quit now. I've been through too much to quit now. I've seen God do too many things for me to quit now. He didn't bring me this far to leave me. Now I [screaming] am in courage. ((music playing)) ((music playing)) ((music playing)) >> ((music playing)) >> Heat up here. ((music playing)) >> ((music playing)) ((music playing)) >> Heat. Heat. >> ((music playing)) >> Heat. Heat. ((cheering)) ((cheering)) Thank you. Sometime you got to speak this word over yourself. Go ahead, tell yourself, I am encouraged. I am encouraged. Amen. Let's thank the Lord for the United Voices. Father, we thank you. >> We bless your name. We honor you. We worship you, Lord. >> We're privileged to be your children. And we pray now you take these next few moments and let this word that we're about to receive be an encouragement, a further encouragement to us. If a person's unsaved, draw them. Anybody backsliding, reclaim them. Somebody unsure, cause them to come and get assurance. Somebody unchurched, we pray that you would draw them to be connected with this family if this is where you've called them to be. And Father, we just pray that this word would resonate in our hearts and spirits and that you get all of the glory and honor in Jesus' name. Amen. You can be seated. I want to take a moment and celebrate the Shabbach ministry today on their 30th anniversary. Help me thank the Lord for the president of Shabbach Ministries, Reverend Cynthia Taylor. T Terry, we thank God for her and her service for these 20 years she's done. You've done a great job, uh, Reverend Terry. Thank you so much. And help me celebrate all of the volunteers who have served such a tremendous way. So, thank you so very, very very, very, very much. I am so grateful for uh, Shabbat Ministries. Amen. Um, open your Bibles to Psalm 147. Psalm 147, the 147th Psalm. By the way, the Psalms are not divided into chapters. If somebody calls it a chapter, they're not chapters. They're all individual books. And um, we're preaching today from the 147th Psalm. I feel like I'm forgetting to say something I was supposed to say before I started preaching, but I can't remember. Glenn Greer had a little brief and I'm in the same place right now. I don't know what I'm supposed to be talking about. Something I'm supposed to be saying, but I don't remember what it is. Um I have for uh most from my childhood struggled with depression, seasons and times and periods of discouragement. That's probably a good word, too. Discouragement. I've had those seasons and times in my life. But God has given me some tools, a variety of tools to help me survive, make it, deal, conquer, conquer it. And I suspect there might be some other people in the church today uh that have had seasons and periods where you felt like quitting. But God gives has given me over the course of the years some tools, some and this 147th Psalm is one of those sections of scripture that God gave me help. How many of y'all know God will give you help when you need help? Yeah. Because life has a way of frustrating you. Life has a way of pulling you down, discouraging you when you look at your bills you got to pay and you ain't got the money to pay it. Somebody say that's discouraging and depressing. When your work is not going the way you want it to go. When your relationships are struggling. Your children don't do what you ask them to do. I don't know if anybody ever had raised kids and you tell them to do a A and they do Z. >> Oh, that's just that's just a few of y'all had that problem. Your health can f fail and falter. You don't have the health that you once had. You can't do like you used to do. I got high blood pressure, diabetes, take about a thousand pills a day. I feel like it. And God has uh helped me and given me some tools to help overcome the frustration, depression, and discouragement that I have often felt. And I believe there's somebody else here today that might have the same kind of a challenge and problems that I want to give you this this little tool, this 147th Psalm, just a couple verses, two or three verses I want to talk about today for just a few moments that that I think is going to be helpful. I am going to take my time. This is the service that y'all said take my time. I'm going to preach it till I'm done. >> Amen. I'm just going to preach till I'm done. Um, I'm I'm I'm uh titling this message, putting a tag on it, the reasons I shabbach the Lord. >> Look at your neighbor. Tell them what the pastor is going to preach about. The reason he shabbox the Lord. That was a little weak. Try it again. It begins in verse 12. Let me start at verse 12. Verse 12 says, "Praise the Lord, oh Jerusalem. Praise your God, O Zion." Let me take a look at this point right here. This this very very first 12th verse. Praise the Lord, oh Jerusalem. Praise your God, O Zion. Praise the Lord. That word praise is a Hebrew word, Shabbach. Shabbach. That's that's that's the Hebrew word. That's matter of fact how we named the ministry that we have, Shabbach Ministries. And it means to make a loud noise to the Lord. It means to open your mouth, to clap your hands. It means to bring a celebration of a loud noise unto God is what it means. Shabbach. Praise the Lord. Now, that's what that first word praise means. It means to make a a loud noise to the Lord. And then there's the name, the word praise again in verse 12. Praise your God, O Zion. That second word praise is a different Hebrew word. Halal is what that word means and it means to boast about the Lord to brag on him. So it's make a loud noise and brag on God. And and I want to just for a moment talk about oh Zion. It says oh Zion. Zion. Zion. Zion means the place where God dwells. Here I feel like shouting when I think about this because what the text is telling us, make a loud noise to the Lord and brag on the Lord. Oh, Zion. The word Zion means the place where God dwells. It means the place where God abides. And and and here's what this is telling us. Oh, somebody gonna get this. Somebody g somebody might get up and run around this building on this one this very first introduction of of my message. I'm going to say, "Praise the Lord. Make a loud noise. Brag on God, oh Zion." In other words, make a loud noise to the Lord and brag on him about being in Zion. Here's what that means. It means I might not be where I want to be right now, but I'm confident that I can brag on him and celebrate on him and make a boast to him cuz he's taken me to be in his perfect will. I might not be there right now, but that's where I'm going. It's where I'm headed. It's where I will ultimately be. Anybody here today capable of getting giving God praise even though Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait till I finish wait till I finish my point. You might not be right now where you want to be. Life might be tough. You might be sick. Your job might not be where you wanted to be. Your money might be funny. I'm not there yet. But I know ultimately God's going to get me there. And I don't have to wait until I get there. His credit is good enough with me that I can go ahead and shout and praise on him right now cuz I know ultimately he's going to take me there. Do I have any witnesses here today who are confident that the God that we are serving is a God who is more than capable and more than able to take me into being in his perfect will. >> Go ahead, look at your neighbor, I'm going somewhere. Tell them, I'm going somewhere. I'm going to the place that God dwells. I'm going to being in God's perfect will. Amen. I'm going there. And are you capable? Are you able? are do you have the capacity to be able to give him the praise? Do can you give God the glory and give God the honor and give him the praise? I I I have six kids. My oldest daughter, Sarah, won't call her name out loud. uh who um when she graduated from college uh she got a job in Florida, Orlando, Florida, and uh my wife and I uh helped her move to Florida. We uh uh helped her pack up her stuff. We helped her buy furniture for her furniture down in Florida. We went down there, helped her get get it all set up. um wife uh who is a uh an unofficial interior decorator. Yeah. Look, all of the decorations you see at this church is Trina Jenkins who did that. Decorated her home and helped her get settled and moved in. And uh when we got all done and we're headed back to Maryland, making our way back here to Maryland, here's what Sarah said. Bye. Okay, y'all didn't get it. Let me help y'all out. I had an expectation >> that she might say, >> "Oh, mom and dad, thank y'all for taking the time and coming down here and taking off your jobs and putting out the money and helping us get helping me get furniture, helping me get settled in." I thought that she would express some kind of gratitude to us for what we had done. But what she said was, "Bye. I'm making a point here that some of y'all with all of the stuff that God has done for you, all the doors he's opened, all the miracles he's wrought, all the prayers he's answered have just given a nod to God to say, "Thank you." Hey, >> it seems to me out of all of the stuff and all of the doors and all of the miracles and all the prayers and all the stuff God did for you that he did not have to do, the prayers he's answered, the doors he's opened, the provisions he has provided, the stuff he kept from happening to you. It seems to me there ought to be more than just a nod to him. You ought to be willing to shout and give him praise and give him glory. You ought to be willing to make a loud noise. You ought to be willing to open your mouth and raise your hands and tell him, "Thank you for what you did." You didn't have to do it, but thank you for what you did. That's my whole point >> that you ought to be give some kind of expression, >> some kind of gratitude >> to God. And so I I I thought I would spend today. I felt compelled of the Lord. The Lord told me to tell John Jacobs, tell them >> the reason they ought to make a loud noise to the Lord. >> Tell them, pastor. And I and I agreed to to to give you what he told me to do. He told me to tell you that you ought to be willing to make a a shabbach to the Lord, >> a loud noise. That you ought to be willing to give an expression of gratitude to the God that we serve. That you you would be willing to stop being quiet and stop sitting down with your arms folded and your mouth shut. You ought to be willing to thank him for his blessings he has provided. You didn't earn it. You didn't deserve it. You could have died last night in your sleep. But he woke you up this morning. He kept you on your side of the highway and the other car on their side of the highway. It just seems to me that you ought to have some level of gratitude to tell the Lord, "Thank you." Oh, but no, oh, no, no. You're worried about what other people think about you. You're worried about what they going to say about you. But I believe there's some people in this building who've been walking with God long enough to be able to express gratitude of all the stuff the Lord has done. You don't care what people think about you, what they say about you. You're not ashamed to open your mouth. You're not ashamed to raise your hand. You're not ashamed to get up and run around the building. You're not ashamed to cut a dance because you are deeply grateful for what God has done for you. Go ahead, tell your neighbor, "I'm grateful. I'm ((music playing)) grateful. I'm grateful." Tell him, "I'm not ashamed." Tell your neighbor, "I'll give him the glory. I'll give him the honor." Tell them with every door he's open and every prayer he's answered and every miracle he's wrought and all of the stuff he ((music playing)) did, he did stuff I didn't even realize he did. >> I should be buried in my grave. But he gave me another opportunity that I got to give him more than just a buy. I got to give him more than a nod. I must give him some expression. So there are four things here in this passage one Psalm 147 that I just wanted just just a little word just little brief thing here just little to help me out of my depression. Sometimes I go back to this 147th psalm and take a look at it and it reminds me of four things. And by the way, they all begin with P. >> Go ahead, express some gratitude that I worked hard to present these points eliterated all with P's to help you remember. >> Go ahead, lean over to your neighbor. I I appreciate the pastor making every point begin with a P with his preaching presentation points that I will be able to propagate them in my Here's the first point. Verse 13 says, "For he has strengthened the bars of your gates." He has strengthened the bars of your gates. I call that protection. >> I wonder if there's some people here today that can look back and see how God has protected you. The devil tried to take you out, but God protected you. This this verse says he strengthened the bars of your gates. He has put some protection around you. Do you not realize that no weapon formed against you can prosper because God has strengthened the bars of your gates. God has made it possible and done it in such a way. Thanks be to God that he has given you protection. Somebody give just give God a shout that he's protected me. He's protected me. He has strengthened the bars of my gate. Yeah. The devil tried to take you out. The devil tried to frustrate you. The devil wanted to defeat you. The devil wanted to kill you. The devil wanted you to get sick and die. But thanks be to God, no matter what the devil aimed at me, God protected me. He has strengthened. Somebody say, "He has strengthened my gates." And I'm shouting on that. I'm giving God the praise. I'm giving him a dance. I'm giving him the glory that I didn't deserve it. I didn't all earn it, but he protected me. I am protected. I'm protected. I'm protected. And then he not only has protected the bars of my gates, here's what he says. His point two, he says, "He has blessed your children within you." That's Oh, y'all missed a spot right there. Uh, somebody say, "He has he he has he has blessed your children within your gate within you." Within you. He has protected. He has protected you. But he has blessed your children within you. He He He has and I'm calling that your product. Go ahead. The product, the seed that came out of you. Amen. I've been preaching all day today. My mind is getting twisted. I can't remember what I said before. What I didn't say. Y'all can y'all just bear with me for just a few moments. Here's what I'm trying to get across to you this year. We want to give God the praise for the product. This that that which has come out of you. Now, what's interesting in me to me in this passage, he says, "He has blessed the children within you." And some of y'all y'all y'all's kids are not in you anymore. They've been born and they're grown. Uh but here's what the scripture is telling us. That there are seeds that are coming out of you that God says, "I'm going to bless them." >> Uh y'all missed it. Y'all, okay, I got to break everything down to you. Here's what that means. It means it it means not just your children, but your grandchildren. Y'all ain't hear what I'm saying. Y'all got y'all got to hear me. God says, "I'm going to bless your children's children. I'm I'm going to bless the children's children's children." Seeds that haven't even come yet. God says, "I'm going to shower them with blessings." I'm shouting and giving God the praise because he is doing stuff for my kids and my kids kids. Y'all ain't hearing you. You see, we live in a generation, I need to help y'all understand something here for just a second. Get this down. Please remember this. God blesses you, not for you. See, that's this is what y'all messed up. Y'all missed the point. You think it's all about you. It's not about you. Whatever comes in the domain of your life, God didn't give it to you for you. He gave it to you for your children's and your children's children, for your grandchildren. He gave it to you so you not for you to spend it on yourself. That's the problem with this generation. This that's the problem with this culture. We spend too much time spending stuff on us. God didn't give it to you for you. God gave it to you. Oh, see I I knew I was going to get some tension right here. I knew I was going to get some kickback right here. He gave it to you for you to bless your kids' kids. Our generation, our culture hasn't gotten that yet. We got to learn that that's what it's about. God rewards and blesses you so that you can take care of your kids' kids. >> Amen. Your kids' kids. Amen. That's what God wants you to do. He uh here's what here's what Proverbs 13 says. A good man uh uh in stores an inheritance for his children's children. I'm excited about what God's doing for my kids. But guess what? My kids are grown. Here's here's where I am. Get this. Get Let me let please understand. Listen. All my kids are grown. They done they done graduated. They all got job. Ain't no need of them asking me for nothing. I ain't giving them nothing. But now if they ask me something before my grandkids, now that's a different story. But that's what my assignment is. is to help my grandkids. Let me tell y'all, try to spend some time and some resources helping your kids be a blessing to their kids. Y'all in here what I'm saying. I I I told I told my wife the uh the We've been talking here cuz y'all know I'm I'm retiring in three years. Y'all know that, right? Did have y'all heard me tell that? Yeah. Go ahead, lean over, tell your neighbor, he out of here in three years. He's out of here in three years. In three years, I'm gone. I'm gone. I'm gone. I'm out of here. And so I've been talking to her about downsizing. I've been talking to my wife about selling the house and downsizing. And I said, uh, she wants us to keep the house. Uh, she said, "Well, we have to keep a homestead." Uh, I said, "No, we're going to get another home instead. That's what we going to do." Yeah. I don't need I don't need to have grass to cut. I don't need to have maintenance stuff. I'm trying to find a condo, apartment, or someplace where I ain't got to cut no grass. Where I ain't got to do no repairs, but I ain't got to fix no dishwashers. I ain't got to do any of that. Amen. Come on now. Holla. Come talk. Anybody know what I'm talking about? I got equity in my house. I got money in my house. Ain't no need of that money just sitting in my house. let me sell it and pull the money out of the house and use it to help me be retired. Y'all ain't hear what I'm saying. Let me hear that. I'm trying to get Do I have anybody See, y'all don't think like that. I I'm trying to tell you how I'm thinking. I'm thinking I'm thinking that that uh and that I can spend some time with my kids, grandkids. That's what it's about. Our culture doesn't think about taking care of our grandkids. But the scripture is tough. Listen, I'm trying to tell you parents, help your kids put your grandkids in a Christian school. I I I I was I was got a phone call from I got a phone call from a preacher's child recently. My wife and I was driving. They called us cuz they were mad. The child the other this child who's a preacher's kid was upset with their father because they asked their father for some for some money for something and the father said no. and they were upset. So, they was calling me thinking that I was going to be on their side and said, "Well, you know, if if your daughter asked you for some money, wouldn't you give her some money?" Uh, and uh she trying to make so she could go back to her father who's a friend of mine and say, "Well, Pastor Jenkins would do so and so and so and so." But I laid it out for her. You know, your your grandfather is doing your father is doing something for his grandchild that most people don't understand and do. He he's not giving you money so he can get your your child his grandchild in college cuz you have not saved any money for your child's college. You a and you asking him for money uh right now for something you want. But am I making sense? Are y'all follow what I'm saying? He He's doing the right thing by putting the money aside to be able to help you put your child, his grandchild through college without that grandchild graduating with a lot of debt. Y'all ain't hear what I'm saying to y'all today. I'm trying to teach y'all what the scripture teaches. See, see, other cultures have learned this. We haven't learned this. Here you are 50 and 60 years old still spending money on you. I feel tension in the room. >> Go ahead, lean over to your neighbor. Say, "He right." >> I know I'm right. I know I'm telling the truth. I know it's truth. We got to We got to think differently than the way we've been thinking and do differently than the way we've been doing. Y'all ain't got to say, "Amen." Let me just go ahead and preach some. Y'all ain't saying nothing back here, y'all. I Yeah, in be encouraged. Yeah, I stood up and clapped my hand and y'all ain't said nothing to me. I ain't hear nothing up here. Yeah, some of y'all are in here. Your grandparents did something to help you get to where you are today. And we we need to have a different mindset. Somebody look at your neighbor and say, "God is some blessings for your product." That's your kids and grandkids. This is for your grandkids. Here's number three. I got to go, y'all. Cuz I see y'all uh I see y'all ain't with me. Uh here. Look at verse 14. Verse 14. Verse 14. Oh, by the way, uh you want to know where it says, "A good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children." That's Proverbs 13. Just jot down, read Proverbs 13:22. You don't have to read it right now, but jot it down. A good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children. Here's verse 14 of this 147 Psalm. He makes peace in your borders. Verse 14, he makes peace in your borders. Here's my third point. Uh here's here's what gives me some sanity and helps me to get out of my depressed moods and uh discouraged postures is that we serve a God who makes peace in your borders. Oh y'all. Okay, let me tell y'all what that means. It means that God will give you safety and soundness and settle you. He won't allow what's going on around you to frustrate you. He will give you peace in the midst of your borders. Anybody know what I'm talking about? Amen. I I Somebody asked me, "What do I feel about the United States and the president bombing Iran?" It don't bother me because I got peace in my borders. Amen. I I got who am I talking to that I don't care what's going on around you. We serve a God who gives you the capacity to have peace even when all hell is breaking loose all around you. Somebody look at your neighbor and say, "I got peace. I'm I'm settled. I'm comfortable. I've got the peace of God that surpasses understanding. I got a peace that settles me. I'm set up. I'm okay. I'm all right. I'm settled and all right because I got the peace of God. That's all I'm trying to tell you is that God is going to give you some peace. He's going to give you the capacity to have security and safety even though whatever's going on around you, I don't it don't I don't care who's I don't care who's off in office. I don't care who the president is. I don't care who's in Congress. It don't bother me. I don't get all bent out of shape because my God is greater than whoever the president is. The God that I serve is greater than any circumstance. It doesn't matter what the inflation rate is. We serve a God who gives peace. Somebody say, "Thank God I got his peace. Thank God he settled me. Thank God I'm assured that he gives me peace." Somebody highf your neighbor. Say, "I got peace." If you know what I'm talking about. I got peace. Tell them, "I got peace. I got peace. I got peace." Woo! I feel like shouting. I got protection. I got a blessing for my product. I got peace. But I'm almost finished. Here's my last point. I'mma leave your hand. I got peace in my borders. But here's what verse 14 part B says. It says, "And fills you with the finest wheat." Somebody say, "Fills you with the finest wheat." That means provision. Oh, go ahead, Pastor Jacob, with your peas. He gives me provisions. He's providing for whatever I stand in the need of. I don't know who I'm preaching to today, but here's here's the point I'm trying to say to you. Regardless of what's going on around us, the God I serve will make provisions available to you. I may not have them today, but I know that when I get to where I need it, God will somehow bring it from out of nowhere. Is there anybody here who didn't have the money, but all of a sudden, God sent a check in in the mail that you didn't know? Some money showed up in your account that you Look, look, look. Can I tell y'all something? Can I tell you something? I got a check in the mail the other day for $8,000. I said, "Oh, where did this come from?" The Lord, I didn't even think about it. I didn't think about it. Somebody give God the pro. Oh, I shouldn't have said that cuz I didn't tell my wife about that $8,000 check. I should have kept my mouth shut. Oo, I wish I had taken Let me take Oh, I should have kept She don't know nothing about that check. She don't need to know about it cuz she go and spend she go and spend and buy whatever she want to buy anyway. It came from God. Somebody say, "Thanks be to God." Come, look at your neighbor. Say, "Thanks be to God." I I'm thankful that I serve a God that makes provisions even when I don't expect it to come. I I give him the glory. Amen. Don't ask me. Don't ask me for no help. Don't be coming up here say, "Pastor, can Nope. Don't ask me. He sent it to me. He sent it. It came to my mailbox. It's for me." Because you know the saints be asking you for money. You need to pray to the Lord. the Lord. >> Amen. >> That's why I can shabbach the Lord >> cuz he keeps on making ways out of now ways. That's why I can make a loud noise. I continually see him making a way when I least expect him. That's that's why I can give him the glory. That's why I can raise my hand. That's why I'm not hesitant to open my mouth and give him the glory cuz he has a track record with me of him working miracles on my behalf. He's a He's a way maker. He's a burdenbearer. He's a provider. He'll give me peace. He'll bless my seed. Somebody say, "Amen." Thanks be to God. He is a protector. Somebody shout it. Hey, [screaming] he makes waves out of nowhere. Jazz, what you doing here? Come up here and finish this sermon for me. Come on up here and grab the mic. He'll make a way out of nowhere. He'll open a door no ((music playing)) man can close. Weeping may endure a fun night, but somebody a joy ((music playing)) is coming in the morning. My God will supply all my needs according to his riches ((music playing)) in glory. Goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my ((music playing)) >> ((music playing)) >> Somebody say yes. Tell your neighbor, I will bless the Lord at all times. ((music playing)) His praise shall continually be in my mouth. [screaming] Oh, bless the Lord. >> ((music playing)) ((music playing)) ((cheering)) >> That's why I don't mind shouting to the Lord. He got a good track record with me. I got history with him. I've seen him answer my prayers. I've seen him work miracles on my behalf. I normally call for sinners to come, but before I call for sinners, I want to call for unchurched people. You don't belong to nobody's church. You need to come on and get connected with the church. Amen. You've been coming. Come right now. Come right now. Come right now. You need a church. Amen. I see you. Come on. Amen. Right now. Come. Come right now. ((music playing)) So proud >> y'all encourage these saints too. Encourage them. Encourage God spared your life. You've been uncovered, disconnected. The devil wanted you to think you had time, but you need to be covered. Everybody needs to be covered. ((music playing)) So proud of you. If you're backsliding, you need to rededicate yourself. Come on right now. Come. Don't be ashamed. All of us have backslid at some point in our life. And this is the time for you to come and get right with God. Rededicate yourself aresh to him. Rededicate yourself. Get reconnected to him. Amen. I see you. Come on. Amen. Somebody else come. Come. Amen. Let's get right with the Lord right now. Right now. Right now. Right now. >> Anybody else? I see you. Come on. Come on. That's why I ((music playing)) trusted soad and heard and he answered. They've been trained to minister to you today. They're going to take you to a back room. They're going to ask you some questions. You answer those questions. They're going to give you some instructions. They're going to share some scriptures. They're going to pray with you. Your life is about to change drastically. God is about to loose your shackles, set you free. All you got to do is have faith. believe in the Lord. Have a heart willing to repent and God is going to transform your life. Father, thank you for every person that's come. I pray that you manifest yourself, cleanse them, wash them, save them, forgive them, plant them in your vineyard. Let your perfect will be done in their life in Jesus name. Amen. ((music playing)) >> ((music playing)) ((music playing)) ((music playing)) ((music playing)) >> Hallelujah. I give God praise every time somebody makes a decision for him. I love you. Thank you for being here today. Thank you for staying to the end, respecting the house of God. Look, turn in your name. Say, "This ain't no club." >> Oh, wait. Hold up. It's a Holy Ghost club. Let me say that. It's a Holy Ghost club. Y'all have a great day in Jesus name. Amen. Be blessed. Woo. Isn't it good news today that all you have to do is seek the Lord. He'll hear you and he'll answer. Family pastor talked about the first wave of those who gave their lives to Christ. Then we had the second wave of those giving their lives to Christ. And honey, sister, brother, my family, you can be the third wave giving their lives to Christ on today. He will never he will never fail. No matter what you're going through, no matter what it feels like, no matter what it looks like, he will never fail you. Make the best decision of your life. You thought when you met your spouse, that was the best decision. You thought when God blessed you with a baby, that was the best decision. This today can be the best decision of your life. Knowing ((music playing)) Jesus is the best thing that you can ever do. Why don't you right now commit your life to our heavenly father? He loves you. Who else died for you and raised for you? Nobody but Jesus. Give your life to him on today. Okay. They will say in the chat exactly how you can do that. And we're excited about the decision that you're going to make today. Become a part of our online campus. Become a part of our church family. But most importantly, become a part of Jesus. Amen. Wow. Okay. Let's get to the free worship post worship experience. I have a co-host. My God. My God. I have a co-host with me on today because it's Shabbach day. He is a board member of Shabbach Ministries family and friends. I need you to show some love for Gregory P. Davis. Welcome. [laughter] I love that. >> How are you? >> I'm doing fantastic. How about you? >> Oh, we thank you so much, honey. This music. Okay. Okay. >> Who got us in worship on today? But it's Shabbach Ministries Day family. And Shabbach, as you know, is the community arm of the First Baptist Church of Glennardian International. And you have been a board member. How long and how did that come about? I I actually started with the original research committee back in about 93. >> My goodness. >> And um it's God I just feel so thankful that God chose me to help pastor make his amazing vision come to uh come to life. It it's just been a faith walk and just been a blessing into my life. >> Wow. I'm so honored. So you were there from the very beginning before the beginning when it was just a vision. >> God, we thank you. We thank you for all of your work then, all of the work for these 30 years and all of your work now. ((music playing)) So, tell us your background. Tell us your vocational skills and what brought you to us. >> So, I'm a retired army officer. Uh, come from a family of military service. Uh, but also come from a family of teachers. Uh, my wife's a retired educator, my mother was an educator. Uh, we were on an overseas assignment, decided we wanted to start a school. >> Uhhuh. made an appointment with pastor come back to talk to him about it and he said that's interesting you say that I want to do that too you want to help. >> Wow. >> And the rest is history. I started there and uh have been blessed to just help Shabbach get where it is. But mostly just thankful to God that pastor had that amazing vision to reach out into the community from the very beginning. It's about serving the needs of the community. >> Amen. That's what Shabbach has been. That's what it That's what it is now. That's what it'll always be. That's why I'm still there. >> Amen. So, family, those of you who are new to us, you know, on the online campus, Shabbach is the community arm of First Baptist Church of Glennard International, as pastor likes to say, we are the hands and feet of Jesus. You know, a lot of people might fall into hard times. Pastor was talking about things you may be walking through. Last week, he was talking about being in a crisis. And so sometimes you're in a crisis and we want to be some of the ones that can help you during that time because God will show up. Won't he show up? >> Oh, hey. [laughter] >> Yes. Oh, he'll show up. So, between, you know, our clothing boutique and between our food pantry and even at career services, Shabbach just wants to be a blessing. >> Absolutely. >> What was one of your favorite moments in reference to being a part of us? >> You know, it's interesting. Probably one of the famous moments I will always remember was going to the golf course. >> Uhhuh. and seeing the kids from Shabbat Christian Academy out there, little ones playing golf. And I said, "Isn't this amazing that we're reaching out beyond the years and beyond the church, to introduce kids not only to things that they otherwise might not be experienced, >> but to just plant in them something that we can use to feed back to them so they can get their blessing from God and they can be a blessing to others." I'll never forget that. That was just an amazing experience. >> It's such beautiful moments when we're able to give back. And so, we're so excited and we're delighted. Before we go any further though, we cannot leave because not only is it Shabbach day, but it is our online pastor's Reverend Katie's birthday. Is she here? Where is she at? >> Yeah, you know she is somewhere working. But we just have to say and scream happy birthday to our online campus. >> Happy birthday, Pastor Kat. so completely. All of this is because of what God has done through you. She's coming. We got to keep it going cuz [laughter] >> Come on. The queen is coming. The queen is coming. Happy birthday to the queen. >> Happy birthday. >> We love her so much. It's so pass. So, put it in the chat. All these happy birthdays to one and only online pastor Reverend KD. You guys, happy Shabbach day. Thank you so much, Gregory Davis. Blessings to you. Blessings to you guys. And bye bye. >> Goodbye. ((music playing)) Oh well. [singing]
