God's Standard for Life Will you please stand for the reading of God's word? Turn to Exodus 20:es 15-1 17 as we conclude our series of sermons on the ten commandments with these three commandments. One, thou shalt not steal. Two, you shall not bear false witness. Three, you shall not covet. Read with me the word of God that confirms this belief. You shall not steal. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. You shall not covet your neighbor's house. nor you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbors. Simply put, hands off of anything your neighbor has. >> Amen. >> Can we pray together? Our most gracious heavenly father, with great joy have we gathered in the house of the Lord to sit in the nearness of the Holy Spirit and to receive the word of truth that comes from the lips of God himself in Jesus' name. Bless us to receive this because they are lifechanging principles that cannot be altered by mankind. In Jesus name we pray. And all of God's children said, "Amen." >> Amen. >> You may be seated. The Ten Commandments are an expression of God's love. If you keep them, you will know happiness. You will know joy. You will have peace. You will know prosperity and unlimited success. When you die, you are going to open your eyes in a paradise that God has created for the righteous with a beauty and majesty your mind cannot fathom. Why am I teaching these commandments to this congregation? Because Jesus, who is our example, who is our teacher, said, "Whoever keeps and teaches these commandments will be called great in the kingdom of God." There's not another verse like that in the Bible. The Ten Commandments are not antiquated principles of for the past. They are more contemporary than the Constitution of the United States. They are more relevant than today's newspaper. The Ten Commandments are God's penicellin shot for the moral and political sickness in the bloodstream of America. Just take a snapshot of our country. We have a border crisis where criminals and drug pushers are coming in to destroy our children. We have a police that's defunded. Police are being shot in the streets while the cities of America have become a playground for criminals. We have a transgender sport where men can have their sex changed and compete with women. That is absolute insanity. That should never happen. According to the State Department, 50,000 women and girls are sex trafficked each year in the United States of America. This is not America the beautiful. This is America that has grown weak in the exposition of law. The rich and the powerful control our lives. The IRS, the FBI, the Justice Department have been weaponized to control the American people. We are living in the postconstitutional era of America. Career politicians have become dictators who have forgotten they are public servants. The Ten Commandments mock America's present philosophy of absolute rights of the individual. 10 times they shout, "Thou shalt not." Thou shalt not. Thou shalt not. The point is there are limits to human conduct. Hear me, America. Our obsession with absolute individual rights is destroying this nation. It's destroying our marriages. It's destroying our schools. Taxup supported artists demand their right to shock and offend every bibleelving Christian in America by painting pictures of Jesus Christ on the cross in a glass of urine. They shocked by painting the picture of the Virgin Mary on a canvas and covering her with elephant dung. But if someone would paint those kinds of pictures featuring Mohammed, their names would be on a death list. But when Christians object to the son of God and the Virgin Mary being mocked, we're called obstructionist. We're called anti-intellectual. We're called repressive hatemongers, racist. The networks have a right to pollute the or the airways with obscinity and hardcore pornography, promoting sexual sin, destroying the fiber of marriage, attacking traditional family values and mocking the God of heaven. In California, thieves are permitted to enter in any store and to steal up to $900 worth of merchandise without going to jail. Hello, Governor Nuome. Thou shalt not steal applies in California, too. Protesters have assumed the right to burn the American flag. My message to you is love that flag or leave this country. The rights explosion of the past three decades have left our cities looking like a war zone. Our schools are killing fields for madmen who have automatic rifles. The Ten Commandments shout, "There is no such thing as absolute right. There is no such thing as absolute freedom." Your freedom stops where my nose begins. And you won't want to know how limited that is, I can show you. The stars do not have it. They're hemmed in by the hand of God. Oceans do not have it. They are hemmed in by the shoreline. Man does not have it. He's hemmed in by other men. Freedom is not the right to do as you wish. It's the opportunity to do as you ought. Get a hold of that. Grasp this. America without the rule of law will be destroyed. >> The church without the Bible truth will disappear. >> You are responsible for your actions. I don't care if your boy scout leader didn't give you enough chocolate chip cookies. Grow up. Stop whining and become a conqueror through Jesus Christ. Stand up for righteousness. Stand up for Bible convictions. Stand up for the Ten Commandments. The Bible says the righteous are as bold as a lion. And we've forgotten that. Jesus Christ went to the cross to give us victory over the world, the flesh, and the devil. We are the conquerors. WE ARE THE VICTORS. WE SHOULD set the standards for what humanity does and does not do. Thou shalt not steal is God's bill of rights for property owners. Everything you own is really a gift from God. Think about it. God owns it all from the very beginning. He created it. He made it. If you have it, it's because God allowed you to have it. >> The Bible says, "Every good and perfect gift comes from God our Father." Your home, your car, your diamonds, your business, your property belongs to God. He is the original owner of all things on the earth. The Bible says, "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth is the lords and the fullness thereof." The point is when you steal another man's property, you have stolen from God. And God places your names in the book of life as a thief. And in this book of life, thieves go to hell. >> Oh, it's a real place. Zechariah 5 and3 says, "This is the curse that covers all men on earth. For everyone who steals shall be cut off. That's criminals. That's congressmen. That's corrupt clergymen. Recently, the New York newspaper carried the story of the preacher who was robbed of more than $1 million worth of jewelry while he was preaching. Think about that. How do you wear $1 million worth of jewelry? When God cuts you off, you will never prosper. You will live in torment on earth. And when you break God's law, you will live in hell forever. The commandment is God's bill of rights for property owners. Abraham, David, Solomon own vast estates of real estate. The children of Israel inherited the promised land from God Almighty. The borders of Israel are recorded in the Bible. Those borders are etched into the mind of God. The Jewish people own the land of Israel today, tomorrow, and forever. That property is theirs. In the Bible, every man's land is exactly marked. The ownership of prophy is the basis of wealth and it begins in the Bible. Today in America, mobs are in the streets burning our cities to the ground, shooting at firemen who are trying to fight the fires that they set, ambushing policemen. Then they demand the sta state to rebuild what they have burned down. In Bible ethics, they have they have destroyed private property and they should rebuild it brick by brick with their own hands, with their own sweat, with their own money or go to jail for life. If Jesus didn't rise from the dead, faith would have no meaning and hope would have no future. But Jesus did rise. And the same power that raised Christ from the dead now lives in every believer. Because Jesus lives, you can walk in victory today. With your gift of any amount, you'll receive an encouragement greeting card, eight pack, and a vial of anointing oil, tools to strengthen your prayer life. And with your gift of $150 or more, you'll also receive two copies of Pastor Hegy's brand new book, From Tomb to Triumph, one to keep and one to share, plus a fruit of the spirit tumbler along with the cards and anointing oil. >> This leatherbound book contains that power that you need to experience. >> Call the number on screen, use the QR code, or go to jhm.org. org/victory. >> Oh, that's harsh. That's God's law. We just don't have the nerve to enforce it. Consider the essence of stealing everything that God controls, gives. God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son. Jesus gave his life at Calvary for every person in this auditorium and every person watching across America and the world. Theft is so pervasive in America. We now consider it normal. A man said to his wife, "Fire the maid. I caught her stealing our towels again." The wife said, "Which ones?" The husband said, "The ones we took from Holiday Inn. kinds of theft that Christians regularly do without thinking about it. There's employee theft. That's a book. The book is entitled The Day America Told the Truth. One of the areas was almost one half of America's workers confessed to calling in sick when they were not sick. That is both lying and theft combined. That's not slick. That's slimy in God's book. Listen to Ephesians 4:28. Let him that stole steal no more, but rather let him labor, working with his hands, that he might supply what he needs. God blesses the person who walks works with her hands. Jesus Christ of Nazareth was a carpenter who worked with his hands. You des this book says you deserve nothing until you work for it. >> So let's consider stealing from God. Malachi chapter 3 verses 8-10. Let me read it. Will a man rob God? You have robbed me. But you say, "And what have we done to rob you? You have robbed me in the tithe and the offering. You are cursed with a curse. For you have robbed me, even this whole nation, bringing all the tithes in the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And try me, say the Lord, and see if I will not open the windows of heaven, and pour out such blessings that you cannot contain." It suddenly got quiet. Why should I tithe? Because God commands it. Why doesn't God say try it, you like it? Because you try spinach and cottage cheese, not what God says. It's a command. Bring the tithes and the offerings into my house, which is today the church. Why? Because the tithe belongs to God. He is the owner. You are the steward. The owner has rights. The steward has responsibilities. God's not in heaven saying, "Let's make a deal." God's in heaven saying, "This is the deal." Preacher, do you expect me to give 10% of my income to God? No, I don't. But God does. >> I'm in sales. He's in management. What does he manage? Your next heartbeat, your income, your next breath. You want to tick him off? Be my guest. Preacher, I've never tithed and I'm doing okay. Not after today, you're not. Until today, you've stolen from God in ignorance. Tomorrow, it's rebellion. If you're new, your new Mercedes is going to stop dead on604 in a traffic jam. The IRS will want to investigate you back to the Civil War. Your mother-in-law will come and want to live with you. The bird outside your kitchen window is a buzzard. Why should I die? Because God controls all the wealth in the world. It is the Lord that gives you power to get wealth. That's in the Bible. Hagi 2 and all the gold and the silver or mine say the Lord. You ever hear of the golden rule? Those who have the gold make the rules. David said in 1st Chronicles 29:11, "Thine thine, oh Lord, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty for all that is in heaven and all that is in the earth." He controls it all. And he only gives to givers. Why should I tithe? Because you become a giver. And only givers qualify for God's prosperity. The Bible says, "Give and it shall be given to you. Press down. shaken together and running over shall God cause men to give to your bosom. Givers gain. Say that with me. Givers gain. Tithing is your investment in the kingdom of God. The Bible says, "Lay up for yourselves." Who? You. Lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven where thieves can't steal it, malls can't eat it, rust cannot destroy it. The message is invest in things that are permanent. The kingdom of God is the only permanent thing that's going to survive. Dew drops are pretty until the sun comes out and they disappear. If you knew your house was going to burn down by noon today, would you put your possessions in it? No. You would desperately take them out. The Bible says, "Heaven and earth shall pass away. It shall be burned with fire." Why should I tithe? Because God says, "Those who do not are thieves." I wouldn't dare call you a thief, but God does. Right here, listen up. In Malachi 3:8, will a man rob God? You have robbed me. But you say, "Where have we robbed you?" And God responds, "And tithe and offering." God has your mug shot on the most wanted list in heaven. Some of you I wish you could see the faces I'm looking at. Some of you came here today in stolen cars. Maybe you're wearing stolen jewelry. You took God's money and you bought those things. Why should I tithe? Because God says you are cursed with a curse when you don't. No chance of prosperity for you, not ever. You will work harder and harder and make less and less because it will go through your fingers like sand. Why should I tithe? But God says, "I will rebuke the devour for your sake." The devour Satan. I will rebuke the prince of darkness for your sake. I will not allow Satan to destroy your income or your possessions. God brings prosperity to the righteous. How many of you would really like to prosper so much you couldn't count it all? Let me see your hand. That's a possibility. All you have to do is go to work. The ninth commandment, you shall not give false witness against your neighbor. Listen to this. This means two things. Do not lie when testifying in court and do not lie. Period. This is the Bible I'm telling you about. If people testify falsely in a courtroom, there can be no justice. And without the hope of justice, there can be no civilization. The Hebrew Bible was so adamant on the subject that punishment imposed on a witness who gave false testimony was the same punishment that would have been made it out to the accused had the false testimony been believed. Let's put that down in just plain English. If you go to court and you're the witness in a murder case and you know something that conceals the truth and you lie about it, but that man is convicted and he goes to jail for life, you go to jail for life also. You get the same judgment he gets. You want to talk about something that would stop lying in court? Boy, now there's a novel idea, God's idea. False witnesses go to jail, too. We The tenth commandment, do not covet. Listen closely. The 10th commandment is the commandment that prohibits the one thing that leads to murder, stealing, perjury, and character assassination. The 10th commandment demands you do not covet anything that belongs to other people, not their spouse. Hubby, if you're flirting with another man's wife, knock it off. God Almighty will clean your clock. Lady, if you're flirting with a man that's married to someone else, stop it. You are going to take on God for an enemy. Covet anything that belongs to others. Their house, their servants, their animals, their property, their money, or their Mercedes bins. God says no. Obviously, that's the reason people steal. Thieves covet their victim's property. It is also the reason for many murders. We must understand that coveting means to covet is more than just I want. The Hebrew verb lockmood lockmood means to want to the point of seeking to take it away. and own something that belongs to someone else. The 10th commandment makes whatever belongs to another person off limits. It's sacroain meaning it is sacred because God gave it to them. We cannot seek to own anything that belongs to another person because only evil can come from that. If you see something you want, go to work until you have the right to buy it by the sweat of your brow. Can we stand? Can we stand? Heavenly Father, we have now heard your ten commandments. Now give us the strength and the courage to live them. And if we should break them, let us repent quickly. Lest the judgment and the wrath of God be poured upon us. Let us repent quickly that God's prosperity may flood our lives to the capacity that we cannot contain it. Let God arise and let his enemies be scattered. Let this nation flourish because we have not abandoned the God of our fathers. Let the authority of God's word prevail over the weaknesses of men. And let us live triumphant, pure, holy, righteous lives that Jesus Christ himself will approve on the day of our judgment. In the authority of Jesus' name, we pray and ask these things. And all of God's children said, "Praise the Lord." >> Praise the Lord. >> Stay tuned. Your blessing is coming up after this short message.
