 normally i'd have you sit but you might as well stand because uh it's been coming the last few weeks you know that we have implemented something highly important and very spiritually focused in our church and that is not just quarterly but every single wednesday night we now give you an opportunity to take the lord's table amen to have communion with our faith family here tonight whether you're a member of the church or regular tender or the first time you've ever be bopped under the tent you are welcome tonight there's only two biblical requirements you have to know you're saved by the grace of god and you have to know that you're walking with the lord listen do not be an act of rebellion in active disobedience and in open sin and then come forward to drink some grape juice and eat a cracker just so you can feel better about yourself because i'm here to tell you the bible says you'll heap damnation on yourself and so this is a time of spiritual introspection you go up and down the grocery aisles of your heart and you make sure things are right you have to be perfect absolutely not but you got to make sure you're not living an open rebellion you want to be sensitive to the things of the spirit of god you want to mind the spirit and have the mind of christ philippians 2 5-11 the mind of humility and righteousness and so in a moment we'll have both sides available and activated for you to be able to come so again as we did last week with a little monitor here if you're on this side of the pole then obviously stay on that side if you're on this side of the pole then say on that side it'll make it so much easier if you need communion elements tonight if while everyone's coming if you need to be seated that's cool no problem if you need them and cannot get up here then you let us know you slip your hands up and we'll make sure that one of our ushers one of our welcome and greeting team members will get to you and bring you the bread and bring you the grape juice all right and so again the bible says if you know you're saved and if you have a spiritual sense about you whereby you want to obey the spirit of god and you want to please the father through the lord jesus christ then you are certainly welcome to partake all right certainly some churches call it closed communion if you're not a member of our fellowship that's nonsense that is nowhere in the bible right if you are born again if you are walking with the lord you have a command from jesus baptism in the lord's table the two he left you have a command from jesus to partake in the lord's table it's a time for you to make sure you're right so even while they're singing and even while you're in line right because it takes a few moments you just get both elements and go back to your seat you take that as a moment before you and the lord to search your heart allow the holy spirit to search your heart and then we'll pray together we'll read the text and we'll continue along in our worship but know this this is a vital active part of our walk with christ this is the one thing in the new testament that brought about local church unity more than anything else amongst the congregation it's hard to break bread with people that you hate with people that you're mad at or bitter over or whatever it's hard to break bread with them right and so there was a reason that they came together they did it every day from house to house so once a week is probably not even enough but it's going to be enough for tonight amen and so it's going to be a blessing we need to continue to press forward in the unity for the sake of the gospel and so i want you to go ahead and begin to come again from this side of the pole that side this side of the pole on this side we have our servants and our greeters and folks will be up here and they'll be helping you tonight

 for as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup you do show the lord's death till he come father we thank you for the privilege of the lord's table the privilege of communion because ultimately it's an illustration of our communion with you the power of your spirit and then because of that the radiant communion that we have one with another in a local new testament body in a faith family and a fellowship of believers so lord we thank you for the broken body of the lord jesus we thank you for the shed blood of the lord jesus what can wash away my sin nothing nothing nothing but the blood of jesus we thank you there's still power in the blood of the lord jesus we thank you that there's power there's victory there's glory there's authority in the resurrected savior what a beautiful beautiful thing to know that you've died for us but what a glorious encounter to recognize the fact you live again you rose for our justification you ascended to heaven you sat down at the right hand of almighty god to make intercession for us even tonight lord jesus you pray for your body for that we are eternally grateful so bless tonight this opportunity that we've had may it bring power unity oneness cohesiveness in the body and father we thank you for all that you're doing in this local church of course in the mighty name of jesus we ask these things and all of god's people said amen and amen we're going to do things a little bit in a different order tonight all right just because i think we need to and i believe that'll be good they're going to come around and you can you know discard the little the little glass there unless you want to carry it home as a souvenir amen keep them through the months and the years and uh count how many times you were here to have communion if you'd like one of the things that we do sometimes on wednesday night during a song of worship is we allow for an opportunity for us to give we don't always take up just for example last wednesday night we didn't have the buckets out we didn't say anything about it when we normally take up an offering i say normally every time we take up an offering on wednesday it's because we want to bless ministry or uh somebody in the ministry or somebody that's hurting or we want to bless some organization that's doing something for the kingdom and so tonight that's what we want to do and so we're actually going to go into our next song this would normally be our prayer time you just be patient i'm going to get things out of kilter a little bit tonight just go with the flow of the holy spirit amen we don't always have to have a bulletin that tells us what to do and it's not always good to know when to stand when to see it when to give when to be greedy sometimes the lord just shows up and for some of us that cuts very close to the heart because many of you know that my mother was actually at a doctor's office and the doctor talked her out of having an abortion and so hence here we are tonight amen and so this fight for life is very near and dear to my heart and so we found out that that hope reached out to us they said hey would you help us with the fundraiser and i said well yeah absolutely you know let us know what you need and so what they were going to do is is they were going to do a shoe drive and so they were going to have people bring a lot of you know nice shoes or at least you know well conditioned or brand new shoes to the church or wherever they were gonna go and then we're gonna have to gather up all of the shoes and then they were gonna have to you know tag them and disseminate them and they were gonna have to sell them and they were gonna have to do all of that and so i'm like no just cut right to it how much do you need in order don't i don't care about shoes i don't know how much money you need and so you don't have to pull your shoes off tonight unless you want to they say within ten thousand dollars i said well that's better that's better than shoes and so we're just gonna give you ten thousand dollars instead of worrying about trying to make you have to sell shoes and do all that kind of stuff amen so we'll just give them the ten thousand dollars and so let's help them raise that ten thousand dollars tonight and be a blessing to them so again in-house online that's what our offering is going to be going to tonight so i just want you to worship the lord let giving be a part of your worship as you're released in a spirit of generosity and if you're making out a check just make it to global vision or gv and we'll make sure that they get one check at the end of the night but don't you think that would be a good thing to invest in invest in life invest in these babies we can't just talk about it we can't just go around raise a fuss on a sidewalk we need to put our money where our mouth is and so if some other folks want to help them with with change in baby bottles and to get diapers and all that that's great they want to help them with shoes that's great we want to help them with money and so i don't want them to have to do all of that because in the raising of all those shoes and all that money maybe they could have a chance to just go ahead and get the money and go ahead and start saving lives and not have to waste all that time amen so we want to do it right on the front end and we want to bless them  father lord we come tonight and we enter into your gates with praise and thanksgiving

 lord tonight i can sense that there's some heavy burdens underneath the tent tonight and lord we know that your word says when our hearts are overwhelmed to lead us to the rock that is higher than i and so lord we come to you tonight because you are that rock that is higher than we are and lord we ask that your presence would be with us and be upon us that your spirit would come rest upon us tonight lord lord that you would get inside of all of the broken pieces within us god and that you would make us whole tonight lord that we would know that we could come to you just as we are

 lord you defeated death and there is no doubt that you have the power to defeat anything in our lives that we are struggling with

 lord there is power in your name lord you can come in and you can take the parts away from us that are not of you and sometimes that can feel uncomfortable god but lord we will never grow in our comfort zone and so as uncomfortable as it may feel in the moment lord we know that you turn all things and you work all things together for our good to those who are called by your name and lord we thank you for the truth that we are called by your name not because of who we are but because of who you are the name above all names lord tonight there's a a spirit here of uncomfortability that you're asking of us to do something and lord our pride has stood in the way for so long because we think that we have it all figured out and that we can do it our way and that it's going to work out just the way that we think that it should but god your ways are above our ways and your thoughts above our thoughts you are greater your word says if my people which are called by my name would humble themselves lord tonight would you give us a humble spirit lord that we know that obedience is better than sacrifice and even though sometimes it feels like sacrifice it's not it's obedience to you it's always the things that you ask us to do that are the hardest for us to let go so tonight lord would we stand on your authority and in the power of your name and the power of your blood that we can overcome because you have overcame lord we thank you that we can come and we can get counsel from you lord your word says if any man lacks of wisdom let him ask of god and so lord as we stand at a crossroads in our lives and we don't know which way to go lord i'm reminded that narrow is the path so lord would you lead us in your way down the narrow road that we may enter in and lord we will thank you in advance for knowing that no matter what we are facing no matter what we are struggling with that we have a savior in you

together as your body as your sons and your daughters and no matter what the world may call us and no matter what the enemy may try to tell us that we are the truth is is that we are yours we are your sons and your daughters and we are loved by the father and we thank you for that in jesus name amen amen amen our students can be dismissed i know the jones family is in the hospital right now she's getting ready to have that baby she may have had it while we've been praying amen so we want to pray for jesse and brittany they've not been meeting on sunday evenings but they've still been meeting on wednesday night brother sam is going to be taking them down to their building tonight and teaching them the word of the lord and so i appreciate him stepping up and he's been a super blessing leading some bible studies in our church and so he's going to take all of our young people 6th grade up through the 12th grade and they can be dismissed at this time and while they're finding their place down there i want you to find your place just for a few moments tonight in the gospel of john and the 13th chapter as we have our time of bible study we call this prayer meeting and bible study and so we've had a prayer meeting but now let's study the bible a little bit together tonight and i'm well aware of the fact it's 10 minutes to 8 o'clock and i promise i'm not going to keep you out long i know you got kiddos here and it's going to get cool outside but i have just a word on my heart that i want to share with you i could break this up into many many words on my heart and so we'll get as far as the holy spirit will allow us to get tonight in this text but john chapter 13 is where i want to invite your attention and again i want to thank you for being faithful to a wednesday night service and i love what the lord's doing every single time we meet together but a super duper if i can use the term love what god's doing on wednesday nights and so don't miss out keep telling friends and family and everybody else that comes on sunday speaking of sunday don't forget i'll be preaching of course every weekend but we'll be giving a little while to uh to our good friend john schneider amen so one of the duke boys is going to be with us this weekend and that's going to be a great time and he's going to be here and he's also going to sing some songs for us and he's become a dear friend of the ministry runs a cowboy church in louisiana and i'll be doing their christmas program and preaching uh to his folks and so it's going to be good and then we haven't said a lot about this just because naturally we have great uh good-sized crowds on the weekends so we don't have to do a lot of extracurricular promotion but the following week one of the most real and raw movies i've ever seen in the christian sphere was actually acted by gerald butler he did a movie called machine gun preacher based on the life of sam childers and it's a pretty raw movie up front because sam was a real basket case of of a crazy person before he got saved and then sam started going over to uganda and rescuing children and building orphanages and preaching the gospel and so this coming sunday we have john schneider the following sunday on the 28th we have the one and only machine gun preacher sam childers is going to be under the tent giving his testimony and i don't know if he'll have a machine gun or not but it'll be cool if he does i don't care but i'm telling you this guy is absolutely amazing and so you're not going to want to miss that we'll say more about it this weekend and actually be showing the trailer uh for his life and so it's a beautiful beautiful testimony so don't miss out on that all right john chapter 13 let's pray father tonight bless the word of god we have just a few moments make them count lord make them count in our hearts in jesus name amen and amen john chapter 13 i'm just going to go verse by verse and word by word as we normally do i'm not going to read down through the entirety of the text as i've been doing on sunday we'll just take it manageably bite by bite and go as long as we can tonight john 13 and verse 1. now before the feast of the passover so this religious day of dedication when jesus knew that his hour was come remember a couple of weeks ago we talked about the fact they tried to push him off a cliff but his hour had not yet come jesus came to seek and to say that which was lost luke 19 10 he did not come to slip on a banana pill and break his neck to fall off a cliff to die in a water skiing accident jesus came to be butchered on a cross for the sins of humanity and so it was at this moment he knew his day had come the hour of which he was going to die and be betrayed had now come upon him and the world and he would depart out of this world unto the father having loved his own which were in the world i love this phrase he loved them unto the end and might i say he still loves us until the end can i get a witness there is nobody that will love you unconditionally like the lord jesus will love you unconditionally there's no buts and what ifs he loves you just the way you are but he loves you too much to let you stay that way he'll transform your life through his love he loved them until the very end verse two and supper being ended the devil having now put into the heart of judas iscariot simon's son to betray him so we know this was going to be the fulfillment of prophetic history we know that he was going to be lifted up against by one of his own and it did not take him by surprise this was not an oops and an uh-oh moment in the sovereign life of the lord jesus the moment he chose the twelve he knew that one of them was a devil and the identifying mark of judas iscariot every single time without fail and without question theologically in the bible is when he's named he is the one that betrayed jesus that's a terrible way to go down into history a terrible way and yet the bible says that now satan had filled him and entered into him into his heart and he was going to betray the lord but i must remind you he hasn't done it yet he is about to receive the same treatment that everyone else in all humility and grace from jesus is going to receive he is going to get the exact same care love grace mercy and affection as the rest of them jesus even knowing as we'll see in the narrative of the context exactly what is about to transpire here's judas sitting at the table with the rest of them chomping at the bit licking his lips for the moment of betrayal to come verse 3 jesus knowing that the father had given all things into his hands and that he was come from god and he went to god he riseth from supper do not miss this and laid aside his garments and took a towel and girded himself now we'll pick up the reading here in verse five in just a moment but let me say this jesus shocks the disciples and two thousand years later very shockingly teaches us something as well he gets up from supper knowing that all of these men have their problems their sin their rebellion their inconsistencies and one of them is literally full of the devil according to the bible jesus gets up and he goes into a side chamber and he disrobes himself and he wraps his body in a towel now understand this was the posture of a slave this was not just a humble servant this was the posture of a slave and jesus wraps himself in a towel girds himself in a towel and notice what the bible says and after verse 5 that he poureth water into a basin and he began to wash the disciples feet and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was dirted when the bible says in philippians 2 and verse 5 let this mind be in you which was also in christ jesus he's referring to the mind of the absolute power of humility and i'm gonna tell you something about humility it'll disarm your enemies it'll confuse the enemy because we're expected to lash out we're expected to fight back we're expected to defend ourselves vengeance is mine saith the lord and i will repay and sometimes one of the most difficult lessons you will ever learn is to keep your mouth shut to bite your tongue and simply serve those that hurt you i found in my life that the only way to rid yourself of bitterness is to serve yourself out of bitterness sometimes even serving the very people that made you bitter to begin with and jesus wraps himself in a towel like a slave of his day and he washes his disciples feet now here he is in the posture in the decor if you will of a slave but there's only three people in jesus day that ever washed anybody's feet only three a slave would wash their master's feet a child would wash their parents feet and a wife would wash her husband's feet and in one fell swoop of the gospel jesus became the servitude of a slave the grace of a loving wife and the humility of an obedient child in one fell swoop of washing the dirty nasty feet of his disciples one of which was filled with the devil himself then let's just be practically honest about life and the text a little bit i know the bible says how beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel so i'm glad god thinks my feet are cute but nobody else does you have to understand that i'm not a foot person okay i could not be apart from the sovereign will of god a reflexologist i ain't touching nobody's feet but my wife's that's it and hers are like three inches long where he's got a little video feet i'm not a foot person and yet jesus takes the dirty sandal-wearing sand-ridden blistered feet of his disciples and in one fell swoop takes off his clothes puts on a robe kneels before them and washes their feet a time out there is no greater way to teach people how to lead than to first show them how to serve the greatest leaders in the bible were servants first david was a man after god's own heart he was able to kill goliath he was able to do what needed to be done he was a man that played the harp he was a mighty man of god but you see him as a servant before he's ever a king and here jesus in all of his glory and all of his power it's not that he disrobed his power it's not that he laid aside his authority it's not that he abdicated his responsibility with all the glory and power of the godhead dwelling in him fully he humbled himself and washed the feet of his disciples he served them loved them and effectively was able to lead them because of that so watch the results of things that begin to happen in the text it was such an astounding moment for the disciples don't don't miss the the gravity of what is taking place in this story verse 6 then cometh he to simon peter so he's kind of going down the line and peter knows it's coming next and so he's thinking in his mind what am i going to do what am i going to say how am i going to respond to this am i going to accept this and peter say unto him lord dost thou wash my feet he's almost saying are you kidding me absolutely not you will not touch my feet not because he thought he was too good for that but because he thought jesus was too good for that he's like you mean to tell me that you are going to wash my feet like you just did these guys does thou wash my feet jesus answered and said unto him what i do thou knowest not now but thou shalt know hereafter and might i just say on the full authority of the word of god that that's applicable to a lot of things in your life not just foot washing what i'm doing in your life now you don't get but you will get it what you thought was going to kill you five years ago made you into the man and woman of god that you are this very moment and what you think tonight is going to destroy you will only propel you to the greatness of the gospel because we grow and we grow and we grow and we say god what are you doing he says you don't know now but in five years you'll know exactly what i'm doing you'll know exactly why i grew you the way that i did you'll know exactly why you had heartburn and headache and sleepless nights and weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning psalm 30 and verse 5. you will know why that person walked away from you you will know why you had that fragmented relationship you'll know why the doctor said cancer you'll know why you went through a bankruptcy you don't see it now but you will see it clearly one day you will see it clearly one day if you're paying attention a lot of times we have to repeat the same courses over and over and over and over again it's almost like our big manila envelope comes across the marble encrusted desk of god and because we didn't learn the first time or the second time or the thirty second time he pulls out a big red stamper and says repeat course repeat course repeat course repeat course and some of you are blaming god for a repeat course when you didn't pass it the first time and god loves you too much to let you move on without growing and learning the lesson and so he said look what i'm doing right now you may not quite get you may not grasp it you may not understand the weight of it but you will hereafter you'll know soon enough we can preach a whole sermon on that verse 8 peter sayeth unto him thou shalt never wash my feet that's pretty definitive in it thou shalt never wash my feet it's interesting that peter's mad about his feet because most of his life they were in his mouth he just kept sticking his feet in his mouth man everything he said was ridiculous most of the time which is crazy because he's like the leader of the apostles i mean this guy had a mouth on him he even cussed jesus close enough for jesus to hear him and give him an accusing glance and he went out and wept bitterly he denied him and he cursed him i don't know him blanket he blankety blankety blankety now let me tell you what the church world would have done to peter we'd have wrote him off well look at peter that cussing sailor he's disqualified himself i'm glad the holy ghost don't think like a bunch of denominational institutionalized people because 52 days later he stood up on a hickory stump on the day of pentecost and he said men and brethren and he preached on the day of pentecost and the holy ghost failed so i'm glad god forgives and gets over stuff he's got bible forgiveness not baptist forgiveness but notice he said you'll never wash my feet jesus answered him if i wash thee not thou has no part with me he's like oh really well i'll tell you what you let me wash your feet or you and i have no covenant we have no agreement together you let me do what i know my father has required and asked me to do or you can get up and you can walk out the door and never look back you let me do this or we have no part together he changes his tune extraordinarily quick in verse 9. simon peter said to him lord not my feet only but also my hands and my head

 he's like well my goodness if he gonna be that way about it just give me a bath lord just give me a whole shower just pour it on my head pour it on my hands wash my feet wash my legs wash my back just go right ahead just just wash me up but notice what happens jesus saith unto him he that is washed needeth not save to wash his feet but is clean every wit every way and every possibility is the text and ye are clean but watch this but not all now when he says but not all he's not referring to not all of your body he's referring to not all of the men that he's washing their feet because he knew that one of them was a devil he knew that at the very dinner table was a man that had the devil embodied within him and had said you need to betray the son of god and he said you're clean but not all of you none of this took jesus by surprise jesus didn't sit around and shake his head and bewilderment and say to himself how did i not see that coming oh he knew it was coming he may have dreaded the moment but he knew that it was coming thus it became to fulfill all prophetic righteousness in the bible he knew it he said you're not all clean verse 11 the description is now given for he knew who should betray him therefore said he ye are not all clean now let me stop and say this i'm gonna get to the foot washing part and the application and the importance of it you know sometimes you hear me say things like this everybody's got a judas at the table i'm not saying that in every single solitary situation in your life you've got to be all the time looking under a rock and around the bush and under the next cloud for the next judas i mean after a while sometimes it's nice to have a little bit of peace i get so sick of drama i can't even stand it sometimes right but you have to understand and and i don't know what your life is i don't know if you're a boss or if you are bossed i don't know if you're an employee or an employer okay i'm a pastor and so i yeah i i have to be a boss in some i'm a bad boss i'm a half decent pastor okay i try to be a good pastor i'm just a terrible boss i don't like to boss people around but at the end of the day there is a pecking order i get that god placed it that way but let me say this all of us in life and i'm careful how i say this the higher up god allows you to be elevated the less luxury of trusting a lot of people you have that's a fact that's the facts jax huh you just cannot trust everybody with your stuff you just can't because if god's going to elevate you and take you to the next level then he's going to show you that sometimes you have to be able to sit on what he tells you because not everybody can handle it because they don't have the capacity that you have right now i had a startling revelation the other day i shared it with a couple of people in the church but i shared it first with my wife and i'm telling you we lit up like a christmas tree when i said this was coming back from somebody's home in the church and we'd met with them and things like that and we don't get to do that a whole lot and we would always be in somebody's house we would always be in a restaurant ty and i would never have any time to do anything if we always took every single invitation to be with people and we just can't we have a family we have a church and so it's difficult but we were coming back from a home the other night and i told her i said you know what's interesting i said god confirmed to me tonight something beautiful this is a whole message danny you're gonna love this there's a whole message in and of itself for the marriage matters group right but here's what i found out and and i and i started listing people started writing things down and here's what i found out every person in my life now i'm not talking about single people i get it okay because obviously if they're single they're not married this is a marriage principle so if you're hopeful hold on to this you'll need it every person in my life that i trust greatly has a good marriage do you hear me every one of them when i think of every drama filled person that blew out of this church and blew me up on facebook their marriage is crap percent of the time huh praise god it's 18 i'll go till 9 10 y'all help me out praise god i'm about to get stirred up in the spirit every person i trust has a marriage that works it's not that it's perfect but it works do you know why people cause drama in church because they're comfortable causing drama in their house if you will disrespect your spouse no wonder you will disrespect your pastor if you will disrespect your wife no wonder you can't stand your balls if you are comfortable disrespecting your husband you will be comfortable disrespecting the holy ghost that's a principle you can't get away from so i started listening it is a hundred percent true every person married people that i trust financially with details with my key every person in my life that have the keys to the kingdom have a good marriage every one of them without fail now i know he's still working on me he's still working on you and we've got to grow in our marriages i get that but the people that have rock solid homes mark it down you can trust them you can trust them do you know why it took me like two services to know that miss billy was legit when she first came to this church and started praying for me because for marriage because i could tell by the way she treated her husband and by the way that he reciprocated and treated her so i i could brag on all different sorts of people but i'm telling you it's a pr and i know somebody right now you're like my goodness no wonder he never tells me anything okay look i don't tell everybody everything because i'm busy and i ain't got time till all my business right but at the end of the day i want you tonight this is your homework class online and in-house think of every single person that has done you damage and then look at their marriage and tell me why they did your damage so i know there's some people i don't know why pastor has this person around him or i don't know why he has this lady you know on staff or i don't know why he has this man because at the end of the day i trust them because i watch their home life i watch how they treat their kids i watch how they treat their spouse and then i watch more importantly how their spouse treats them because look i can get up and lie to you about how much i love my wife how much i serve my wife how much i do for my i can get up here and lie all i want to but she's right on the front row and she'll agree to every single bit of it and guess what so will my children so look moving forward i do not trust people with important information when their marriage is falling apart because if you cannot be trusted with the stewardship of your home i ain't trusting you with nothing nothing you say well i think that sounds mean that's fine i'm telling you life's too short to find out that you gave information to a judas iscariot and you got to be careful who you shared your life with jesus had a devil on the team had a devil on the team so do you treat them with disrespect and oh no no jesus washed his feet as fabulously as he washed peters and everybody else's now i can't surmise and assume what jesus was thinking but jesus already knew i'm sure judas was a little freaked out by it because the bible says the devil had already entered into him right he already knew and he's like oh this guy's gonna touch what he's probably having some second-guessing moments he knew what he was about to do dirty filthy crook he knew it and so did jesus but nobody else did because let me tell you how good judas was when jesus spilled the beans at dinner and said one of you this night will betray me not one not one of them said lord is it judas everybody said lord is it i nobody suspected judas because he wore the same clothes they did pray the same prayers they did perform the same miracles they did preach the same sermons they did went to the same towns they did he was a phony baloney hypocrite of a crook and jesus and judas knew it and nobody else did they were all shocked when it happened so what that has to do with the remaining part of the text means absolutely nothing other than i i feel heavy in my spirit share that with you and you'll appreciate it when you get judas you'll appreciate it when you get judased how many have been judas before put your hand up mm-hmm look at there yeah those of you got your hands up you wait a couple weeks you'll get it but look out who you share life with you better thin out that crowd on facebook quit worrying about how many friends you got you ain't got no friends on facebook it ain't a book and you ain't never seen one of them face to face never not one time it's stupid it's social media immature nonsense and we we get our whole uh oh man i got five thousand friends well talk to five thousand i'm in four thousand nine hundred and ninety two i'm going judith you you better share life with a small group of people small group of people you know how i felt that tonight praise god amen verse 12 so after he had washed their feet all of them and had taken his garments bless you and was set down again he said unto them so he finishes puts his clothes back on sits down at the table and watch this know you what i've done to you he's like do you have any spiritual recollection and understanding what just transpired in this room the shift the atmospheric transition that just happened do you know what i have done you call me master and lord and you say well for so i am i am your master he said i am your lord if i then this the nitty-gritty your lord and master have washed your feet you also ought to wash one another's feet he said you call me lord and master and that's who i am and if me as your lord and master humbles myself gets down and then forgiveness love grace mercy and compassion wash your feet don't you think you've got to wash each other's feet now look i believe baptism in the lord's table are the two ordinances there are some churches in the free will baptist movement and others that believe that foot washing is an ordinance i don't believe foot washing is the ordinance but i do believe it's a principle of the bible because you can't wash somebody's feet if you hate them because by the time you get done you won't hate them back to the marriage part of things any of you guys have ever been in my office right and and i don't counsel ladies by themselves anyhow but any of you guys that have ever been in my office and asked me about marital advice you you could get this microphone and even people online you could get this microphone and you could honestly assess my preacher what he's telling you is 100 truth he's too legit to quit he's going to say what he means and i always always without fail tell them look if you're having trouble in your marriage let me tell you what to do sir you can quit having trouble tonight right now immediately immediately and they're like really is there like something i can do i'm like yep and you'll have to do it go home throw you a towel over your arm

 find her best and biggest cooking pot and fill it with hot water kick the bedroom door open come walk it in like a waiter and when she looks at you like you have lost your marbles she won't fuss she won't cuss she won't argue you just say slip them little legs over the other edge of the bed there baby once you do it just just please do it if you got a pot of water in your hand and a towel over your shoulder like a concierge and you get on your knees in front of your wife and you wash that woman's feet argument's overwhelmed it's done she could be like invasion of the body snatchers what has the lord done with my husband i'm telling you it'll work hands down 100 every time it's fail proof i mean it is a fool proof it is absolutely a fail safe in your life you do that and that humility disarms her some of you thinking right now some ladies are like nope i ain't going for it you let that dude break it out tonight for midnight now you going for it yeah you going for it you just say honey i just i need to apologize you didn't gotta say much just wash your feet see if the atmosphere don't change see she's still throwing stuff at you see if y'all still fussing about something stupid y'all been fussing about for six weeks it ain't worth fussing about know-how god doesn't forget about it you need to get over it it's amazing what we let our marriages suffer through it's amazing the stuff that we fight about it's amazing the garbage and the crap fest that we bring into our homes when one act of humility would change the whole atmosphere forever and you might be surprised next time y'all get mad she might show up with a concierge show to wash your feet bucko it'll change the game it'll change the game let's preach it in uh somerset kentucky of course we were there not long ago in that big tenth meeting i say big bunch of people showed up in a little tent meeting but i was there a few years ago and i was actually at the bicycle shop they used to sponsor me when i did my rides across america and i was there and i was talking to one of my the guy that ran the shop and some of my preacher friends and this guy walked in and he said hey pastor lot good to see you man i'm so glad to see you blah blah blah i had no idea you're going to be here this is of the lord i got to tell you something i said what's that his name's frank i said what is it frank he said you know i left my previous church a couple years back and he said it was a bitter battle said man that church went down to about 25 30 people and everybody was fighting and you know it was one of them churches that had like two last names and so it was a big family affair and it was just fight fight cuss cuss cuss you know deacons you know slapping each other in the parking lot and all that all that bunch of nonsense so he said it's been horrible he said me and that preacher have been down each other's throats he said we can't even look at each other in town we can't even see each other he said i've hated that man forever and i didn't know where he was going with the story he said but you know what happened two weeks ago i said what's that frank i don't know what he's going to tell me i thought he's going to say well i went to a service and you know we patched the whole thing up buried the hatchet and we're done with it nope he said i was in my room and he said i was reading john chapter 13. he said it was like 11 o'clock at night preacher and god told me get a 5 gallon bucket and a towel and go to your ex pastor's house at midnight and knock on the front door and wash his feet and his wife's feet when they come to the door if i'm lying i'm dying god strike me down on this platform if i'm even stretching the truth crazy stuff this ain't preaching this is the truth right here i'm making stuff up and so sure enough he said i went and got me a bucket of water i don't know if he got the water took it to the house went to the house used the hose pipe i don't know but he got water in the bucket however he did it i was just amazed i wasn't going to go into too many details he said i got a bathroom towel shower towel he said it's midnight and i knocked on that preacher's front door that i can't stand he said interestingly enough his wife is the one to answer the door he said i called her name and said i need to talk to your husband she got a little cap on and shoes in her little robe you know so he comes downstairs and he says i just wanna know can i can i come in they didn't know that it's been a bitter battle all this time before they would have known he was gonna show up and shoot him he's like can i come in i just want i just want to sit down on the couch and talk to you he said i told him i bucket of water right in the living room he said i didn't even give him a chance to respond yay or nay he said i just took that towel off my shoulder and i got down on my knees and he said god sent me here tonight to wash both of your feet he said both of them started crying uncontrollably he said i couldn't even see to wash their feet i was crying so uncontrollably he said i've never even done that he said it was so odd and so weird and like bulky he said but i dipped her feet and five gallon bucket and wiped it off with a towel we cried and snotted it out and said we all knelt by the couch and prayed hugged each other forgave each other he said brother i don't know if i've ever experienced such a spiritual highlight in my whole life and i think of that tonight hard to hate somebody you show up at their house at midnight and wash their feet we all got people that are detractors right we've all got people that are like you see them you're like man lord deal with them in the name of jesus right yeah i know what if i'm not your holy spirit i'm just your simple pastor what if the holy spirit said i want you to wash their feet then what game over they'd be like what yeah exactly what are they going to do you dirty rotten filthy proud arrogant i don't know you're knelt before them with a towel over your shoulder to wash their feet in a bucket what are they going to do nothing except forgive you and be stunned and be shocked and stand in amazement at the power of forgiveness flowing through your hands with their feet in them i'm not telling you what to do or not to do i'm telling you what jesus did and it disarmed everybody in the room and you know why it's quiet tonight 2000 years later we're still disarmed by it it's so radical it's a radical idea and jesus did it but then watch we gotta quit for i have given you an example say example that ye should do as i have done to you now notice he doesn't just say you do what i've done he said you do as i done you walk in humility you walk in a lack of arrogance you walk serving people you will never lead them well unless you serve them better you just won't you just won't there's no way around that fact and it is a fact he said you do as i have done to you verily verily truly truly i say unto you verse 16 the servant is not greater than his lord neither is he that is sent greater than he that sent him now watch this if ye know these things the things that just proceeded out of his mouth and literally from his hands if ye know these things happy are ye if ye out loud next two words here we go do them say it again do them happy are you if you hear them no happy are you if you agree with them no happy are ye if you do them who are you serving tonight how are you going to treat the waiter or the waitress at the restaurant that you go to late tonight you see you have to understand the principle of what he did and as he did it is not just to put somebody's bare feet in a bucket it's the way that you serve and treat people on a regular basis you do it with humility because even that type of humility disarms people it just does well i could say so much but i i want to say this because i think it'll help us when i bring up the restaurant stuff it always helps me start thinking about food and danny starts amen and hey man we get ready to roll we better eat we all show up at the same place on wednesday anyhow but have you noticed the lack of workers in a lot of your regular establishments today have you noticed that now we understand that that's by design from the left but have you noticed that if you're not careful you'll find yourself getting frustrated over something that that young girl on the other side of that dunkin donuts counter has no control over whatsoever she can't help everybody quit and her boss isn't worth a plug nickel she can't help it he can't help that okay that that guy in the convenience store that used to have five people working with him now he's working by himself and he's working overtime and double overtime listen he he is razzled and the last thing he needs is another jerk follower of jesus to make some rude snide arrogant comment about he ought to do his job better you need to give waiters and waitresses and ho you get baristas you need to give some hostess you need to give people some grace especially the everyday but especially these days they're working over hey thank god they're even working right i say tip more than you've ever tipped i say pray with people more be gracious be kind be loving and if you can't be any of those things do not tell them where you go to church

 absolutely not if you act a fool in a restaurant and they say well i saw y'all praying where you go to church you tell them something else but don't you tell them you go here but you mess up what we've been trying to do for the grace of god i believe in being bold but not arrogant there's a difference in being bold and being belligerent we got too many people trying to be belligerent when they should just be biblically bold and kind because when you're baptized in boldness you'll be compassionate in your boldness to the people that you need to be compassionate to and jesus knelt before his disciples one of which was a devil and washed their feet so i don't know it wasn't the originality of what i intended on teaching on tonight we just had a heavy in my spirit because jesus said hey happy are you if you do this let's go serve somebody tonight let's wake up and love somebody so tomorrow somebody a text message just let them know you'd love them in the lord just encourage somebody give somebody a 20 bill hundred dollars get give give somebody a little something extra just help them be a blessing to somebody's kid help somebody that's hurting actually stop and roll down your window for that guy that says we'll work for food at the red light whether he will or not ain't on you you'd be a blessing to him anyhow you helped that man you helped that woman you helped that child you helped that family you helped that marriage you helped that waiter you hate that help that waitress you know sometimes when i think about giving the way that our church gives i come up with all these crazy outlandish unbelievable ways that we could give money away and help people and we've done some crazy stuff so here's something we're going to do coming up and i need help with this and i don't want help right now i need somebody that's got the gift of administration to pull this off and i don't want to overload my staff with it okay so somebody's got a good volunteer spirit help me with this here's what we're going to do one wednesday night probably not this next one because it's thanksgiving isn't it yeah one wednesday night here's what i want to do i want to call every place in town and give you my secrets i want to call every place in town that delivers pizzas every place all of them 5 10 15 30 of them call them all and somehow organize i don't care if we order one pizza or two pizza we just have pizza night okay all different kinds it'll be like it'd be like a a baptist potluck just all different kinds of pot roast pizza showing up right but i want all of the delivery drivers to show up around 8 o'clock all at the same time and we're gonna march every one of them up here and we're gonna give each and every one of them by far the biggest cash tip that any of them has ever had at one time all of them at one time go just just pour a bunch of money on them

 just just give it to them so if you've got a kid that delivers pizza they better be hit that wednesday night praise god but we got to figure out administratively how we're going to do we're going to do it i don't care if it's five drivers i don't care if it's 50 drops we're going to figure it out we're going to have some church cash on hand and we're going to wash some feet we're going to bless some people right so i i don't know how that looks it might end up having to be you know ubereats drivers i don't know i don't know who's in business who's not that's on y'all y'all figured that out but once you get it figured out come to me and i'll just get the money we'll go with it but what i'm saying is this community knows that we have the most polarizing congregation in town that's fun that's cool that's great i get it we're very political we're very direct we're very demonstrative but if they'll be honest and hit mount juliet never will but if they will be honest if they'll be honest we're also one of the most benevolent organizations anywhere in this area and i want this town i want them to know that oh yeah we're going to fight and we're going to stand and we're not going to close but i also want them to know when they're hurting we'll help you when the other churches won't help you we'll help you when your boss won't help you we'll help you when covet won't help you we'll help you when sleepy joe biden and his money runs out we'll help you we'll help you we'll help you we got to wash some feet in this town if you believe it give the lord some praise in my church amen father thank you for the word of god thank you for the example of jesus may we follow it tonight in jesus name and the church said amen i love you guys we'll see you this weekend god bless you you are dismissed
