do you hear me but his word says that his promises are true that he's a waymaker and that when he's working even when we can't see it he is moving on our behalf he is moving on our behalf he is working things all things for good his word says he works all things for good to those who love the lord do you believe that today church do you believe that his promises are yes and amen do you outside it's a little cooler under here than i thought it was going to be with the extreme temperatures that we had today and so the fans seem to be doing their job somewhat sunday's a little more difficult when you got five times the number of people in here it gets a little hot quick but you guys are patient and i appreciate it i just think that uh you know this is our mission field and so i feel like we're on the mission field amen and somewhere in the in the philippines or somewhere in south america somewhere in some jungle somewhere we're just suffering for the lord amen so here we are in this tent and uh we're gonna be excited about it and just rock on and expect the lord to continue to do great and mighty things in our midst and uh most most churches don't even have a building as nice as our tent and so i'm thankful for this place so thank you for being patient with us and i know summertime gets hot i know winter time gets cold but god's good no matter what season it is and right now i think it's the season of revival amen church that's the season that we're in right now the season of revival and the lord doeth all things well i'm just going to ask not our people but our our servers to go ahead and prepare themselves and make themselves ready for our time of communion and uh most of you probably already saw it on my page but just for the online community just in case i want to let them know that i will not be in eubank kentucky tomorrow night that is absolutely nothing i can do about that i have no control over that and so they they canceled i even sent a message a couple of days ago when things were getting hot for them and i said won't you just go ahead no no no no we're with you to the end and everybody says that until your friends and family start spitting all over you and getting mad so i'm not gonna i'm not going to blame the preacher that was involved but i'm i'm not going to be there but i am going to say this okay i'm going to say this because i think this is important uh i can continue to love pray for and support people but i'm just going to go ahead and go on record right now so stephanie has this in the notes amen if you cancel me because you can't handle the fire don't ever call our office again and ask me to come back to your church because i'm not going to because if you can't handle it now you sure won't be able to handle it when things get worse okay so if you can't handle fire and you know sodomites calling saying that they're going to protest and people mad about out of context autism statements and you know through democrats out of the church okay you knew who i was before you made the phone call okay and so i'm not i'm not compromising for you your mama my mama or anybody else okay just who i am it's just who i am it's been a ridiculous week in the media and uh they they can't help themselves we are like blood in the water to these sharks and sometimes it gets exhausting it really does it gets utterly exhausting i think the devil tries to bend and bend and bend and bend and bend and bend to see where our breaking point is but what do you understand is the holy ghost just keeps giving us more flexibility and so we just keep bending and bending and bending and bending and bending and bending and so there's victory in the blood of the lord jesus christ there's power in the name of jesus christ if we weren't seeing so many people saved baptized set free and delivered then the devil would just leave us alone and there's a lot of churches in this nation he leaves them alone because they're not a threat and so we just don't mind kicking over the honey bucket and letting the bees swarm for a little bit all right and so i will not be in eubank kentucky as of now i'll still be in flint hill virginia on monday right but here's the beautiful thing i don't need another place to preach i preach in the greatest church on the planet so i don't care if they all cancel i'm not looking for another road gig amen i don't need it i don't have anything to prove as long as god's happy and the wife's happy let's rock on amen let's absolutely rock on so we're just going to trust the lord and i think a lot of our kids are in here tonight kind of scattered hither than yawn we got a debacle with the water going on down in the building and uh so we don't have any water down there and it's too far to take the kiddos to the bathroom trailers and so it's just been one thing after the next today but that's all right it just shows me that the lord's going to show up in our worship service amen that the lord is going to set some people free and do some beautiful things and so we welcome everybody in the tent and certainly we welcome everybody online and so as we say every week children are the parents discretion as far as our communion time together but everybody on this side of the pole will go to this side everybody on this side of the screen and paul will go to this side we don't pay attention to who does and who does not partaking in communion is between you and the lord not you and your spouse you and your kids you and the preacher it's between you and god there's two requirements and prerequisites salvation and make sure you're walking in the spirit you don't have to be perfect but if you've got known rebellion disobedience and sin in your life that you are unwilling to repent of i implore you tonight as your loving shepherd and friend do not partake in communion you will heap damnation unto yourself this is not a haphazard time to be seen of men this is an important time to be seen of the lord to have communion with him and to bring unity and reconciliation into the body and so everyone stand that's going to partake this side over here this side over here get both elements take them back to your seat we'll pray and read the scriptures in a moment and we'll break bread together and have communion as a local family tonight ((music playing)) there's hallelujah amen beautiful words beautiful words which reminds me this sunday historically is pentecost sunday amen and so let's just really pray that the lord's movement will not just maintain but continue in just a big audacious amazing and awesome way in all of our services amen just want to praise the lord for what he's doing in our midst and we never want to take it for granted we never want to overlook it we never want to just accept it as normal because what we're seeing in church throughout the days throughout really every day but especially on the weekend is unbelievably supernatural and god's just not doing it everywhere and i'm just humbled and honored to be a part of it hebrews chapter six we could dismiss all of the students during this time you find your place in hebrews 6 they find their place down in the student building and what a beautiful mountain and gaggle of kids we've got amen they'll be going down there with brother jesse and they'll have a wonderful time in the word i can promise you he is teaching them the power of god's word line by line word by word just as effective and powerful as we are in this room right now and so thank god for all of our young people but you find your place there in hebrews chapter 6. this weekend i'll be giving a few more updates and a few more announcements about of course everything special around here but we do have some special invites some special people that will be coming to our services to bless us and of course i always still preach uh because i love to preach and this is our platform and our pulpit and and so many people come from around the world especially throughout the states just to meet us and see us but uh the following sunday on the 12th for just a few moments like we did with roger and with with mark and all the other people that we've had for about 20 minutes we're going to hear from a friend of ours that is deeply involved in the fight against abortion deeply involved in the fight for victims rights and sex abuse victims and somebody that many of you will know she actually became extraordinarily internet famous a number of years ago when she fought teen vogue for turning into a pornographic magazine for the most part and so uh on sunday the 12th we have elizabeth johnson the activist mommy going to be with us in our service amen and her family is going to be with us and that's going to be a beautiful time she'll be sharing and then on the 19th father's day we got mr my pillow michael and dale is going to be with us in the house amen sharing his testimony i think he's actually shipping a couple of thousand books to give away for free so everybody will get a copy of his book that day and that was super generous of it but they'll be here so we got a lot going on but it's super exciting to watch what the lord's doing and the continued growth of the platform that he gives us hebrews chapter 5 and 6 is actually where we're going to be i'm just going to reference chapter 6 and i'm actually going to read some into chapter 5 but we're going to pray and i'll make some comments by way of an introduction and we're going to jump right in and i'm really going to stay on point tonight with our time just because we do have the kiddos having to be here i know that makes it difficult for parents and all of that and so i'm not going to rush the text but i will just give you a few things that the lord's been bending my heart and my ear about the last couple of days and so let's pray father in heaven we come to you in the mighty name of the lord jesus truly we believe stand in and understand the fact that that name is still above every name that there's still salvation redemption healing deliverance freedom in the name of christ we believe that we have to believe that we would be heretical bible deniers if we did not so lord tonight i have nothing to stand on other than the authority of your word and the power of your name so do tonight in this room and online what only god can do lord as the song lyrics said a few moments ago we are calling on the holy spirit we're asking god that you would stoop down in our midst and you would touch us tonight you would feel us tonight you would overwhelm us tonight you would drowned us in your glory tonight do a work in this place that will not soon forget and father we thank you for it we honor you for it we extol worship and praise you for who you are not just what you do because you're a good good god if you never do another thing you are good all by yourself that's your nature and character and for that we say thank you so bless the word to our hearts in the mighty name of jesus and all of god's people said again we're going to drill down into hebrews chapter five but for reference sake in hebrews chapter six you have some very interesting things that the writer of hebrews is talking about now let me say this by way of introduction there's a lot of theological conjecture as to who wrote the book of hebrews i don't think there needs to be any conjecture i think it's man-made nonsense because the writing style is so the apostle paul that it's undeniable and unbelievable that anybody would even have a debate about such things however it doesn't make any difference to me but i love this book because it proves to me that god justifies the spiritual drinking of coffee because hebrews say amen right there right and so in chapter six god is telling us that we're supposed to leave the the simplistic things of god it's not that they're not important but how many of you know that the church world needs to grow up and stop being a bunch of babies say amen right there he said there's some principles you got to get away from once you get saved you've got to grow from there salvation is the starting point and ii peter 3 18 clearly says but grow in grace and in the knowledge of our lord and savior jesus christ that's an imperative command not a slipshod suggestion he's not saying this is something you ought to do if you get around to it he said it's something you have to do if you're going to obey the lord so christians that don't grow live in a constant state of moral decline and biblical disobedience am i making sense so in chapter 6 he says look stop going back to the same things that you already know you've got to grow you've got to mature you've got to move on you've got to learn some new things and so that's really the context of chapter six so because he begins there with the word therefore we have to look and see what it's there for so back into chapter five because it's the meat and potatoes of what i want to talk about now look at me just for a moment so i can lay the groundwork all right i got to give us a runway so we can get off of it and get into the air the book of hebrews is written to god's people it's written to christians that were saved out of judaism but they saw fit to take themselves purposely back under the law can i remind you that romans chapter 7 says christ is the end of the law for all men i do not have to be subjected to the law because i've been saved and baptized in the grace of god and jesus fulfilled the law and did for me what i could not do for myself stop putting burdens on you that not even god has put on you ladies and gentlemen and so he said look come out from among that nonsense quit burdening yourself i was talking to somebody last night one of our security guys and we were actually talking about the book of hebrews and i said it's amazing how many people think it's spiritual to live in bondage it is not spiritual to live in bondage the bible says where the spirit of the lord is there is liberty you need to live in liberty and freedom in jesus christ and i am free in christ and i will not be entangled again with what the bible calls the get this spirit of bondage bondage is a spirit and i will not subject myself to the spirit of bondage because i've been saved and set free by the radical dramatic grace of god that's what the book of hebrews is about but here's the problem in chapter five people need to understand that there's more than just now will lay me down to sleep walk and i'll sign a card pray a prayer and get in a baptismal dunking booth okay there's more salvation is the beginning sanctification is a lifetime process so he's talking about jesus because that's what the book of hebrews is about it's really about the fact that jesus is better you say better than what better than everything according to the book of hebrews he's better than moses he's better than the law he's better than mount sinai he's better than the old testament he's better than the new testament he's just better he's better than the priesthood of the order of melchizedek jesus is better a church ought to be madly in love with preaching and teaching the principles of jesus but here's the problem notice if you would please verse number 11 of hebrews chapter 5 of whom he's talking to all of these people all this doctrine he's been talking about for the first five chapters four and a half at this point i suggest and highly suggest in fact that you go through it and you read it he says of whom we have many things to say and hard to be uttered seeing your dull of hearing now when he says of whom he's referring to the previous context of the lord jesus christ he says i've got a lot of things to teach you about jesus but you can't handle it yet i've got a lot of things to tell you about jesus but you can't handle it yet and i'm here to tell you in the american church people cannot handle the bible jesus they can't handle it we got this idea of this republican or this socialistic communistic jesus listen jesus doesn't care about republican and democrat he cares about holiness and righteousness he came the first time as a helpless baby in a manger he's coming again with vengeance in his bones and fire in his eyes the bible says he's coming with a sharp two-edged sword coming out of his mouth and with it he's going to smite not just rebuke he's going to smite the nations stop all this mealy-mouthed limp-wristed skinny gene-wearing idea that jesus was some that smoked dope and sat around with a peace symbol around his neck loving everybody into hell that's not the jesus of the bible that's not the jesus of the bible and so here the writer of hebrews who i believe is paul and if you don't believe that you can preach another time but here the writer of hebrews says look i'd like to tell you some more about jesus but you can't handle what i've already told you there's more to jesus than what the books have told us matter of fact there's more to jesus get this than what the bible told us because the bible says at the end of the book of john that so much was written about what jesus said and did that the world libraries could not contain the volumes of works that it would take to explain how glorious jesus is and the writer of hebrew says look i'd like to tell you some more things about this jesus even some things that are hard to be uttered okay there's some stuff about jesus that's not all rosy wonderful pie in the sky lovey-dovey peace field nonsense everybody's like well you know brother lock sometimes y'all just come across a little bit abrasive can i remind you in red letters jesus said i came to bring a sword to the earth i came to bring a sword to the earth is he the prince of peace yes and there's no peace without him but jesus brings about peace by annihilating the stuff that's causing a lack of peace and jesus brings about division you don't believe me love jesus and see if all your family stick with you very long follow jesus and see if your boss likes it that much follow jesus every day of your life and see if you don't get some people that unfriend you on facebook and the bible says there's some stuff about jesus that's hard to be uttered and people don't want to talk about it and for that they don't talk about it and because of that look at the end of the verse here's why you can't handle it you're dull of hearing now can i remind you this is holy spirit written inspired text in a book we call the bible and the writer of hebrew says you know why i can't tell you more about jesus but i would love to because you can't handle it because you're dull of hearing because your heart is as proverbs says fat with grease because your ears are stopped up because your mouth is open but your ears are closed and can i remind you you've got two ears and one mouth for a reason you ought to do twice as much listening as you do talking somebody shout amen that'll help you a tremendous a lot in your marriage in your life in your ministry listen be quick to listen and slow to speak because normally the first thing you want to say is the last thing you ought to say how many know that's true and if you're married you know that to be the facts the facts so he said look i'd love to tell you more about this wonderful beautiful marvelous glorious holy jesus but you can't handle it because you're duel of hearing and we know that to be prophetically correct and fulfilled because revelation two and three he keeps saying seven times he that has ears let him hear what the spirit says he that has ears let him hear what the spirit says of course we got two ears on the side of our head on the side of our face protruding out of it but we can have ears and not really hear what god's saying because we're dull of heart we're dull of hearing we're stiff-necked our mind's already made up before we read the bible we already know what jesus looks like we already know how he's going to respond we already know everything yada yada yada you can't teach me anything and the american church is dull of hearing and that's why they heat to themselves in the last days teachers having itching ears that shall turn their hearts away from the truth and shall be turned into fables why because people would rather hear a fablistic nursery rhyme than they would the truth of the bible and the truth is jesus is holy and without him you'll go to hell it's that simple and he says look that may be straight but there's some hard stuff i'd like to utter but you're so dull of hearing you can't hear it now let me stop and say this as we say throwing the jake breaks he's not talking to lost people he's not talking to people that are ignorant as a brick to the gospel because watch the rebuke and the reprimand that they get in the remaining verses verse 12 for when for the time ye ought to be teachers let me stop and say this he said look you know enough bible you ought to be teaching a class yourself you ought to be discipling your family yourself you ought to be leading people to jesus christ by accident there's a time he says you know the truth you've heard about jesus you should be teaching others about jesus it's that simple we all are called to do that for for when the time you ought to be teachers ye have need that one teach you watch to please the next word again he said you ought to know the bible by now so well that you are teaching other people but you seem to be so dull of hearing and ignorant that i have to keep coming back telling you the same things that i told you for the last 30 years you ever notice that's the way people are it's like you're talking to a brick wall we look at our kids and we're like how can you not get the words that are coming out of my mouth as a shepherd i grab the microphone and i look at it and i say how can you not get the words that are coming out of my mouth i've been saying the same thing for 16 years 30 if you count all of them that i've been preaching same thing same thing same thing same thing and yet there are people that haven't even got it right the first time we wonder why our marriages are a mess we wonder why there's no revival in our churches we wonder why the white house your house god's house and every other house is corrupt to the core because we really don't want to grow we're comfortable being spiritually lazy in the american church i don't have to read the bible because second timothy 2 15 says studying is work yes it is and that's why most people are ignorant because they're lazy and they don't want to study the bible they want me to study it for them now i have a responsibility to feed the sheep not slop the hogs so i'm going to study and i'm going to give you the word but it's the only time you open your bibles when i get up on wednesday or sunday and tell you to you are malnourished spiritually you're malnourished spiritually so he said look you should be teaching you should be out on the streets you should be in the highways and byways and telling people about all the great things of god but you have one that has to teach you again watch this which be the first principles of the oracles of god he's not saying that the first principles of salvation and the early abc's of christianity are not important he's basically saying i'm sick of having to go back to ground zero and tell you things that you should already know by now you should grow and basically he's about to say stop being a baby grow up stop being a spiritual infant i know people that have been saved 30 40 50 60 years that we're a diaper playing a sandbox and sucking a pacifier every day of their life and they're miserable as the day is long and everybody that comes in contact with him is just as miserable if not worse paul says grow up did you know there are times now i'm preaching to the choir tonight because it's just we chickens in the house but you think about everybody you know that goes to church right and if everybody that said they go to our church actually came to our church we'd have to have 15 tents this size right but but i just want you to think for a moment about all of the things that people get upset about get mad about get offended by get out of kilter get out of sorts and sometimes i think to myself here's the best thing we could probably ever do in an american church maybe not ours but sometimes ours let's be honest take all the adults and put them in the children's building and put all the children in the adults building because sometimes the kids have more spiritual sense in their noggin than the adults do and i think to myself am i a pastor or a hired babysitter at the end of the day for pete's sake and i think to myself there have been people that have been saved longer than i've been alive it's time to grow up and quit wearing a stinking spiritual diaper grow up grow up say well who are you talking to i don't know if the diaper fits wear it goodness gracious people he said i keep having to go back to the first principles haven't we covered this don't you know you're saved yes don't you know the bible is the word of god yes don't you know jesus is coming again yes then good grow from there there are some people have such a surface level spirituality it's just so fake come to church put on a jimmy carter smile how you doing brother how you doing sister oh i'm just doing glorious and your life's falling apart you ain't gotta lie about it if you're not doing so odd come to the altar we'll anoint you with all we'll lay hands on you we'll pray not everybody has a perfect day every day not even me some days are just a crap fest let's be honest say amen and so it's nice to be able to come to a church where you can just be honest about the fact that you're struggling but you know who is really struggling but won't admit it immature christians that refuse to grow in their faith because they want to put on a facade oh i'm always spiritual i'm always godly i don't need any deliverance what nonsensical thinking to think that i need deliverance you need deliverance from yourself you arrogant fool that's what you need you need deliverance from yourself you need deliverance from a spirit of pride you need deliverance from a spirit of arrogancy and hardiness and a spirit of religion and a spirit of unbelief in a spirit of denominationalism i just named seven spirits you need deliverance from and then you have to think real good about it maybe you ought to put spirit of immaturity you know we talk about arrested development on sunday night so we say come out arrest the development in jesus name meaning by that people that mentally and physically don't grow and maybe they have a mental handicap well at the end of the day there's a lot of christians that are affected by the spirit of arrested development because they will not grow in their faith no matter how much you spoon feed them they just stay there sucking on their thumb whining white looking for somebody to be mad at looking for drama all the time and then mad at me when i don't fall into the trap of your drama i'm not counseling you out of your drama i got a church a wife and kids and people that hate me your drama is not my concern grow up dear god grow up don't change diapers you can go to the nursery they'll change your diaper well if you're an adult they won't but he says look would you please stop going back to the same things you should be teaching the bible by now not having somebody screamed at you but then watch this i have to teach you again which be the first principles of the oracle's god and are become such as have need say need notice they can't even they can't even go further they have need of milk now wait a minute these are people that should be off the bottle these are not new converts these are not novices to the faith they should be off the bottle they should be eating as he says strong meat okay not just a big mac not spiritual junk food you ought to be to a place right now where you can handle strong biblical doctrinal phd level meat from the bible he said here's the problem you still sucking on the bottle throw the bottle out and get yourself a steak you gotta grow up you are going to be judged by god at the judgment seat of christ for your lack of spiritual maturity that's in the bible and everybody's like well you know i'm just going to suck on a bottle for the rest of my life look can i be honest with you this sunday what would you think with all this this place even tonight even tonight what would you think if 90 of the adults in this room right now had a pacifier in their mouth or were sucking on a bottle while i was preaching let me think about that think about how utterly ridiculous and psychopathic that would look amen preacher you would expect me to rebuke you over that i would hope right so how come people do it every single day and every single service of their life spiritually and nobody ever stands up and says anything about it people like well you know we'd love to go to global vision but man they're just they're just a little bit thick in what they say exactly if you've been to a cotton candy skittles unicorn church your whole life all of a sudden for the first couple of weeks you kind of got a gag reflex when we start putting the t-bone steak in front of you listen shove it down it'll quit coming up eventually learn to eat more than you've been eating learn the principles and the oracles of god learn them and move on to the next thing quit going back you know it's interesting because a lot of times and the beautiful thing about deliverance is it's minimized like 95 of my counseling with people because it just delivers them right but here's what happens before we got into deliverance ministry and i refuse to do this for the rest of my life i'll meet with you once or twice but if you've met with me two or three times and i've told you the same bible verses and the same stuff and you still refuse to take the advice that your shepherd gave you i can't help you if you did that to your doctor he'd be like i'm not gonna see you anymore i didn't wrote your script you didn't take it you didn't even get it fulfilled right you know what you're supposed to be doing and you ain't doing it so i give you the bible and then you know a couple weeks later you're like oh my goodness i got the same problems i'm like well did you do what i asked you well no i'm getting around to it no wonder you've got the same problems this kind doesn't come out but by prayer and fasting mark 9 29 there's some things you're just going to have to throw the bottle in the garbage can get you a steak and start eating start eating by the way not just because it's me or not just because it's somebody else that preaches here danny or whoever it may be because we we got some good preaching here we got some good meat here but look if you go to a church not just our church but if you go to a church like ours that's line by line word by word phrase by phrase and you don't biblically and spiritually grow that ain't on me that is your fault you need to start loading your plate up a little bit better when you go around the buffet line right you need to quit tweeting and facebooking while i'm preaching and start paying attention to what the word of god says right quit worrying about the kids in the nursery quit worrying about what joe biden's doing it's bad it's bad okay it's bad right quit worrying about what's going to happen in the news quit checking your phone quit texting let get in the bible if you come to a church like ours and you can't grow something's wrong and it's not with the preaching and it's sure not with the bible and i've had people say well i tell you i go to that church but i'm just not getting anything out of it and i'm like do you even bring a bible to church are you even halfway paying attention to what's being said because the last i checked and i ain't talking about political nonsense raw rob bishop kumbaya three cheers for trump i ain't talking about that nonsense right we got on politics a couple weeks ago it's like the first time in months and the whole world had a meltdown i'm talking about every week line by line verse by verse i mean this past sunday we went through five verses and could have could have went five weeks in those five verses it's not like we're not studying and fasting and preparing and pray it's not like i get up and say well you know tonight i'm just gonna i'm just gonna wing it because you know it's gonna tell a few tears jerking stories and tell a couple of jokes get you feeding out of the palm of my hand we actually really preach the bible around here and i don't get why people don't grow at a faster rate and tell you something god's not going to judge me for that he's going to judge you for that because i've been faithful to give you what the bible says and if i'm faithful to give you what the bible says it's on you if you don't eat the word of god get off that bottle and grow up throw that thing away babies get fed everybody else feeds themselves i love it when people say things like this man when i go to global vision it makes me want to read my bible that's my favorite thing to hear you make me want to read the bible yes that's the whole point i would rather preach in such a way that when i'm done you would wish i would continue than to preach so long you would have wished i'd shut up 25 minutes ago right i want you to go home and be like wow i didn't know the bible said that i'm going to read it for myself i want to make you so excited that the bible pops off the page and comes to life and you grow in your faith that's what a shepherd does that's what a shepherd does and so he says look right now you have a need for milk but you should be having a need for strong meat you should be eating some real meat and potatoes getting some getting some meat on them ribs watch this verse 13. he gets pretty plain about it for everyone that uses milk is unskillful in the word of righteousness what yep why for he is a babe he she they they are babies in the lord there's nothing wrong with spiritual babes that's not the point everybody at some context in their life is a spiritual baby but it is wrong to stay there you got to grow up into spiritual adulthood and he said if you're still just using milk and by the way when he says using milk he's just not talking about drinking it yourself he's talking about the way that you discuss it the way that you talk about it or the way that you don't talk about it he said you should be teachers of the word you should be like doctors in theology and you're still talking about flannelgraph stuff you're still talking about the fact that zacchaeus the was stuck up in a tree he's gonna be stuck in a tree for the next five thousand years he ain't coming out and yet we've got these pastors all over america that are just fine with using milk to feed their congregation because they're unskillful in the word that's why we got to call some of these false preachers out they just preaching these little la di da que sera sera everybody's okay i'm okay you're okay we're all okay and god says you're not okay you are jacked up tore up from the floor up you are not okay and we got these little peripheral sermons three points in a poem i'm gonna take two words pull them out of their immediate context get everybody riled up and excited and guess what preaching like that does it causes churches to close down when the government tells them to because they're unskillful in the word and they don't know what the bible says right he said they're unskillful in the word i don't want to be unskillful in the word and i don't want you unskillful in the word i want to give you the word so that when you go home you're like wow the bible is a meat and potatoes book i got to read it i want to fast i want to pray i want to teach my kids i want to talk with my spouse about the bible i'm going to take my bible to work i want the bible to become a love affair in your life so that you are consumed joshua 1 8 this book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth but thou shalt meditate therein day and night that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous and then thou shalt have good success get skillful in the word by the way you can always tell when somebody has a surface level spirituality you start talking about things of the bible they don't want to talk about it you back them in a corner they're like a bulldog they'll come out with a character attack because they know they can't defensively say anything about what the bible actually says so then they come out and they attack you right that's what happened last week on this platform during our debate he didn't have a theological leg to stand on so he came out and attacked the church and it didn't turn out so well for him i say somebody like that's full of milk they don't know the word they're unskillful in the word now i'm not the greatest skills man when it comes to the word but i can promise you i'm in the word every single day without fail reading the bible memorizing the bible loving the bible and not just reading the bible so i can preach fancy sermons i read the bible so i can live right live holy i'm sick of people that are unskillful in the word i'm more sick of pastors that are unskillful in the word some of these guys can't preach their way out of a wet paper sack they just can't and it's not their stylistic it's their content it's weak it's weak cotton candy christianity is the fault of shepherds it is the fault of faulty preaching it just is nobody wants to take one or two little words one or two little verses one or two little stories and so internalize them that that's all we ever do just get people excited if you can get people out of their seats look i like when y'all clap i like when you stand up i like when you rah rah bish kumbha i mean it's it's cool right i enjoy that let me tell you something i don't have to have it i know if i'm speaking truth or not you don't have to amend me for me to get excited i come to church because i'm my own favorite preacher i'll sign my own bible i'll jump on the front row and amen myself when it's good if nobody else does i don't have to have the applause of men but i do have to have the approval of heaven and the approval of heaven doesn't come when you sit around sucking on a bottle for the next 30 years of your life it comes when you break out a napkin and a plate and a fork and a knife and you get into the meat of god's word and you study it i'm not gonna do this tonight so don't get butter on your britches and slip under the seat but i wonder if i right here live on everything i turned all the fans off so you could hear real well and i just started passing the microphone around and i said right now in this room and don't raise your hand whether you can or not that's not the point if i said right now in this room i want somebody to stand up and quote me two verses that prove that the trinity is real it'd be crickets i want somebody to stand up and prove to me from the bible that the bible claims itself to be the word of god crickets i could do that at the southern baptist convention and the pastors wouldn't jump up and say anything about it people are ignorant to the bible and then they want to argue the bible you ever notice the people that don't even understand the bible are the ones that always are trying to uh argue against the bible itself it's like an atheist telling me how i'm supposed to believe that's a silly oxymoron i don't let atheists tell me about my belief or my lack of belief in god that's like your broke uncle that filed bankruptcy 12 times wants to tell you how to balance your checkbook that's like somebody that only raises cats and dogs want to tell you how to raise kids right it doesn't work that way and at the end of the day there are so many people that are super unskillful in the word they just don't grow they they have absolutely no ability to defend their faith and that's a problem because second peter said we ought to have an answer that lies within us for the hope that lies within us an answer for every man do you know and let's just be honest about it we're gonna have to quit i'm about to sweat to death i feel like i've been baptized do you know the number one reason why people don't share their faith like soul winning sharing their testimony telling people inviting folks to church the number one statistical reason not made up greg locke reason you know the number one reason people don't share their faith it's not because they're wicked it's not because you want people to go to hell that's nonsense you don't want that you know the number one reason people don't share their faith they're afraid somebody's going to ask them a question they're not equipped to answer because they've not been studying the bible and you don't have to talk to anybody but like five minutes to figure out if they know the bible or not okay i'm not saying that you've got to know every little thing about the old and the new testament and everything about eschatology and prophecy this and prophecy but i'm saying you ought to have a good general knowledge of the bible to be able to hold your own against people that do their best to chop the bible up you ought to be able to take the sword of the spirit and say this is what the bible says bam bam bam even jesus three times in matthew chapter four said it is written it is written it is written if jesus quoted the bible don't you think we ought to quote the bible and so it's really a a sad mark on the american church that so many pastors are unskillful in the word and therefore so many people in the context of the pews and chairs are unskillful in the word of righteousness why because he's a babe verse 14 we're done but strong meat that's the second time he said strong meat not just a little bit of meat okay not just a little bit on a sandwich no strong meat real deep biblical truth belongeth to them that are full of age now we know this to be truthful right you can't feed a baby steak okay it can't handle it but as you grow you go from milk to meat so he's saying look there's some people that can't handle meat because all they ever know is a bottle he said you got to grow from the milk all the way to the meat get full age grow up spiritually and that's not an age factor that's a discernment factor that's how long you're in the lord factor i know people that are 25 and 30 years old that have more wisdom than 90 year old people because they know the bible even david said i know more than all my teachers that was not an arrogant statement that i'm walking in to teach not be taught he's saying look because i know the bible i can go toe-to-toe with somebody that thinks they know the bible the bible will give you wisdom beyond your years beyond your years roy anderson one of the dearest friends i ever had in my life was an 80 plus year old preacher when i was a 16 year old kid 80 plus when i was 16. he let me preach my first revival meeting when i was 17 years old in his little church of about 10 people rush wood baptist church murfreesboro tennessee right next to the post office i'm eternally grateful for that dear old man of god but i'll never forget one day i got out of his pulpit it was on a friday night i preached all week long 17 years old in this man's church i got out of the pulpit he walked over to me he was just a soft-spoken very militant preacher but very soft-spoken out of the pulpit he walked over to me and he put his hands on my on my back and he said greg going to tell you something if you will make much out of the bible god will be sure to make much out of your life and i never forgot it when you put the bible in its proper place god will put you in your proper place and a man's gifts will make way and make room for him and he said it's time that you get on the meat of the word of god you grow up even those were done who by reason of use have their senses exercised they're using the truth of scripture they're growing they're meditating in doctrine in the philosophy of the bible what does it produce to discern both good and evil now we'll stop there in the text we can preach on that for a long time that could be the whole message tonight why do we need to grow in the word of god so we can discern good and evil the reason the church in america accepts nonsense is because they have no spiritual discernment because they've been reading comic books they've not been reading the bible they binge watch netflix for days and never read a verse of the bible and wonder why their life is such a mess we talk to everybody all day long we scroll facebook and tick-tock and instagram for hours and the bible sits on a dusty shelf and we wonder why god don't answer our prayers what is wrong with us the american church is baptized in laziness and lukewarm jezebel nonsense and god said i've had enough grow up you bunch of babies that's what god said you can never build a new testament church on spare time and pocket change it takes work it takes sacrifice to have a good marriage it takes sleepless nights and heartache to raise good kids it takes a lot to get in the bible and learn the word of god fully on these individuals that just get up grab a microphone and just fake it till they make it and just wing it listen if a man's gonna preach a bible sermon it's like working eight full good hours outside in the garden he's expending some energy i'm not getting up here blowing smoke i don't need another place to preach like i said i don't need to preach another sermon don't have to write another book don't have to take another picture don't have to shake another hand i do this because it's the love of my life i love to preach the bible because i want you to know the bible i want you to know the bible and you don't have to know it because things about to get crazy you better know the bible these mega churches they follow by the wayside you hear me they fallen by the wayside willow creek first seeker sensitive church there ain't a thousand people in that 40 000 seat auditorium or whatever they got 40 000 people had all kind of services five minutes before service on mother's day there's 85 people in the room these mega churches are dying they're dying you know why because they've been fed cotton candy and skittles for years and people are starving for truth starving for it when all hell breaks loose in this country i promise you elevation and hillsong are not going to be full they're just not people aren't going back to that nonsense they're tired of schizophrenic pastors that won't stand up and say this is what the bible says so for whatever that's worth grow up god's people need to grow up churches need to grow up marriages need to grow up kids need to grow up so don't be a drama mama okay be filled with the word of god the word of god keep you away from drama of god to keep you out of a bunch of foolish fights and arguments and inconsistencies and bad character it'll keep you out of all and keep you out of sin it'll keep you out a lot of stuff i feel like preaching for three hours but i'm hungry let's pray father thank you for the bible tonight thank you that we have a church where i can i can just be straight and just be real and just be bold people take it and they take it because they know i love them people online take it because they know i love them i don't care what the haters say i really don't we don't care what the media says we don't care who cancels us whatever it's par for the course at this point it's just par for the course we're going to preach the bible we're going to believe the bible and we're going to grow in the bible and if that means we got to leave some people behind that want to stay on a bottle and have their diaper change every 15 minutes then so be it they can go somewhere else where the pastor will get up and change their diaper but i ain't doing it around here we're going to grow warriors for christ not coddle bottle-sucking babies they just want to whine because they didn't get their way and they got their feelings hurt because somebody looked at them wrong i'm sick of that nonsense in the church world people overseas having their heads cut off for the gospel people around the world being drowned being burned in cages their kids are being stolen from them their arms are being chopped off and we're mad and upset because somebody unfriended us on facebook because greg locks their pastor whoopee dee jesus is coming again and he's coming with vengeance he's coming with fire and lord we better get ready for this we better quit messing around i'm sick of life way coffee mug christianity it's the kind of christianity that makes you sick you got holy heartburn and you said three times in one chapter i will vomit you out of my mouth and lord i think your belly's starting to churn in this american nonsense that we call the church world and you're gonna start spitting some people out things are gonna start happening at an alarming pace churches and pastors are starting to be exposed and they should be they should be when we are biblically wrong at this church and in this pulpit rebuke us mightily and sternly so that we can repent and get right but when we are preaching truth and standing on truth embolden us impassion us and protect us because we will not be silent when it comes to the truth of loving the word of god let god be true and every man a liar tonight bless these folks in
