God Don’t Do Mix | Pastor Travis Greene | Forward City Church

Hey family. Hey, I'm so honored that you guys are hanging with me today here with Fort City. We got a brand new message from our series called God Plus. And today I'm preaching a message called God Don't Do Mix. And uh man, it's a strong word coming from Jeremiah.

But um I think one of the things that are trapping the people of God is that we actually think that God's cool with us having idols or other allegiances or alliances in his mix with him with the worship that he receives. And the Bible teach us that worship is not a song.

It really is surrender. And so we want to present God something untainted, something pure, and something that he can receive as a sweet aroma. And so make sure you tune in this message. Um encourage other people that you know to watch it by sharing it with any and everybody.

Listen, God is coming after these idols. And so I'm believing the Lord that he's going to do a transformative work in your heart today. I love you. I see you at the end. >> Come on, let's do it together. We've been doing this every week since December 31st.

This is my revival year. >> This is my revival year. >> Oh, y'all sound like an army. I like that. Test out. >> THIS IS MY REVIVAL YEAR. >> This is my revival. >> EVERYTHING IS ABOUT TO SHIFT. >> EVERYTHING IS ABOUT >> I PROPHESY. >> I prophesy >> to the north. >> To the north, >> south, >> south, >> east, >> east, >> and west. >> Fresh wind >> is blowing. >> On every dead >> and dry place. >> Their dreams >> live again.

That gift live again. Their faith live again. Lord breathe my mind, MY HEART, MY HEALTH, my family, my anointing, my church, my city, my relationships, and my finances. THIS IS MY YEAR FOR DIVINE ALIGNMENT. What was scattered must come back together. Come on, USE YOUR AUTHORITY. WHAT WAS BROKEN WILL BE RESTORED.

Heaven version of me is ready to rise. I WILL NOT FIGHT AGAINST THE WIND. Wherever it blows, I will go. Use me. Use me to do whatever, however, whenever. This is my year to pray more passionately, fast more fervently, and be more devoted daily. I renounce every lie.

I rebuke every idol. And I repent for doing things my way. You know what you're doing. Take everything and give me you. MY WORSHIP IS MY STRONGEST PLACE. And your response to surrender IS REVIVAL. HERE WE GO. I RECEIVE I receive I receive the winds of revival IN EVERY AREA OF MY LIFE in Jesus name.

Amen. 10 seconds of allowance. Grab your Bibles. Jeremiah. Let's go to work. Jeremiah. Jeremiah. We all gas. No breaks today. >> Jeremiah chapter 7. Just three verses very quickly and you'll be able to sit for the remainder of the service unless something hit your limbs and you want to stand.

Chapter 7 verse 9. I'm in NLT today. It's my wife's translation. Pastor Jamal translation. Pastor Jim. I think I'm the only one in NIV still. I ain't coming over. But I do like I do like this. The way it read on this one was just better. And this is GOD POPPING OFF.

EVERY NOW AND THEN YOU NEED the pop off God to show up. >> I know you like the merciful God. It's okay. No, sometime I need God to pop off on me. >> He popping it off in this scripture. Watch him. HE SAID, "DO you really think?" And if I wrote it, it would HAVE SAID, "HEY, DO YOU really think you can steal murder, commit adultery, lie, and burn incense to bail?" and all those other new gods OF YOURS.

NOW, BEFORE I EVEN GO TO THE NEXT VERSE, STAY THERE AT VERSE nine real quick. Because one of the things you need to get delivered from is thinking that the Bible is written for everybody but you. Tell somebody this is talking to me, too. Still, still. Now, I know you didn't take nothing out of Dollar General without paying for it, but you done stole before.

Some of y'all stole today. How God asked Malachi, "Will a man rob God?" Malachi said, "How can we rob you?" He said, "And tithing and offerings." I don't want to belabor that point, but we all stole before. Some of y'all be claiming y'all nieces on y'all taxes. Every everybody be claiming hours you worked and know good and well you were getting your nails done.

Everybody stole a little bit before. He said you think you can still you think you can murder. Now I know you think you ain't never killed nobody but it was Jesus who said if you have hatred in your heart that is murder. >> So you think you commit adultery?

You're like man I AIN'T CHEAT ON MY WIFE. GOD JESUS SAID JESUS is in red. He said, "If you have lusted with your eye, you committed adultery in your heart." >> Good God Almighty. Lie. You done lied. Some of y'all be lying when you singing worship songs. >> I don't want anyone else except Brian.

I don't need anything else except Kesha. You are my I labored for this, y'all. Y'all know I I write songs, so I labored to make this rhyme so you can remember it. God said, "You be stealing, killing, feeling, concealing the truth, and kneeling before other gods." He said, "You do all of this."

Verse 10. AND THEN COME UP IN here >> just a pop off God. You got a nerve. They don't say that, but you got a nerve to stand before me in my temple >> and chant we are safe only to go right back out to all those evils and do it all over again. >> He says, "You're coming in here, but you leave it unchanged. you.

Oh, don't say that. >> You know, sometimes it's easier for me to reach people who actually are honest enough to admit they're in sin. I got people that I mentor and pastor, some all over the world, specifically some who are in Hollywood, and they'll straight up tell me, "Yeah, you know, this this really what it is.

This what I got going on." They know it ain't right, but they'll be honest about it. >> I I those people are easier to reach sometimes >> cuz at least they know. >> It be the ones >> who come to church every week. Even the ones who going to stand before the Lord shocked >> and say, "But didn't you use me?" >> He said, "I used you, but I never knew you >> cuz I only know the real ones." >> Verse 11, "Don't you yourself admit that this temple, which bears my name, has become a den of thieves?

Surely I will see all the evil going on there. I the Lord have spoken. A very simple word today. I thought about how to phrase this and this was the first one that came to mind and I said I believe for city can handle it. So we're going to call it this week.

God don't do mix. >> Look at three people and tell them God don't do mix. >> Lord Jesus breathe on your word. We're here for you. >> I decrease. You increase for real. God, I need you because if you don't show up, it's a waste of time. >> God, I've labored.

I prayed. I sought after your face. But I'm asking for your wind. Speak through me. Saturate our hearts. Satan, we rebuke you. Come against every demonic stronghold and distraction. And we ask you, Holy Spirit, to have your way. Would you guys do me a favor? I really feel a grace in this service.

Would you just take 20 seconds and join me in just intercessing very quickly? Maybe you could just pray for the one on your left and right. Pray for your role. But just for a moment, would you pray in the spirit and just ask God to do something brand new?

Spirit break out. Spirit break out. Come, Holy Spirit. We need a word from you. Come, Holy Spirit. We want to see you move. Do a new thing in Jesus name. Amen. If you're excited for a word of God, do me a favor and give him a great praise on your way down to your seat.

Come on, GIVE HIM A GREAT PRAISE. HERE WE GO. God Plus volume two with a series called God Plus. And the goal of this series, ladies and gentlemen, is to remind us that God actually do care about what we place around him. I believe that this truth is going to liberate us.

I believe it's going to draw us to repentance, deliverance, alignment, revival. Bible says there's our key verse for it. If you're a notetaker, hopefully you are write this down. Exodus 20:3. You shall have no other gods lowerase G before me. He says, I don't want any other gods before me.

Now, this means that he don't want any other gods around him. Not just above him, not just ahead of him. He don't want other gods, other idols, other distractions around him. God does not share space with idols. a pre preview of last week or review, excuse me, of last week and then we're going to continue this week.

God plus nothing equals God. He's sovereign. He stands alone. He's supreme. He existed and in pre-existing eternity before he spoke anything into existence. Creation time was something that he thought of. He needs nothing. He is sufficient. God plus nothing equals God. But God plus anything equals adultery. And this is where the Lord is trying to bring our focus.

It is a warning before judgment that we have fallen into one of the oldest traps for humanity. And we've tried to add things to him. You know, God plus greed and God plus success and God plus a boo and God plus porn and God plus new age. >> God plus my crystals.

God plus my yoga. I'm not scared of y'all. So, I'm just going to keep going. Let me throw this out, too. I encourage you. There's this very strong device called a phone. On that phone, you can download this very strong application called Chat GPT. I encourage you before you just go jump in and all this different stuff, just look it up.

Try to be like, "Nah, dog. Stay away from that. And people are perishing according to Hosea 4:6 by lack lack of knowledge. >> Knowledge, man. Knowledge. Knowledge. Our ignorance. Not just our rebellion. The Lord told me this that the enemy's He's not just Write THIS DOWN. THE ENEMY IS NOT JUST AFTER first place in your life.

He's after sharp space. >> This is stronger >> than you realize because we think that the enemy just wants to be top. He don't care about that. He just want to be in the mix. Share space. And this is what idols do. They compete for your attention, for your allegiance, for your affection, for your devotion, for your identity. >> An idol, what's an idol?

An idol is anything that God requires, but you are unwilling to release to him. And the reason you can't release it is because it won't release you. You're absolutely not the one in control. And this is the deception of idols. They always come cute and cuddly, making you think that you can control it.

And maybe that's how it entered your life as a cute puppy and then it grows into a pit bull and next thing you know it's telling you what to do because it's spiritual. We don't wrestle against flesh and blood. And so it'll camouflage itself as not being a big deal.

And the reason I'm SO BURDENED IS BECAUSE THERE ARE MANY things that the people of God don't think are a big deal and could keep you from heaven and could keep you out of purpose. And this is why people use these phrases like it's not that deep. Talked about this last week.

I believe this phrase was created by the devil. >> It's not that deep. This whole idea of it not being that deep, watch this, is really the enemy trying to get you to think that your God is tolerant, that your God is indifferent, that your God is indecisive, that your God is passive.

AND THE BIBLE says he is holy, man. He is holy. He is holy. And we have to get MORE KNOWLEDGEABLE. WE GOT TO GET MORE knowledge knowledgeable. This is why Hosea said, "Man, we're perishing for a lack of knowledge." But but ignorance is not an excuse. It's not excuse.

It It is a trap. It's a trap because the enemy I know because I've been bound before, so I can speak to this. You have authority over what the Lord allowed you to survive. And the Lord has allowed me to survive some things I was bound by in ignorance.

In meaning I didn't really even know what I was saying. >> And that's how he gets you trapped >> cuz the devil is a legalist. He needs your agreement for him to have access. >> Did you hear what I said? >> He needs your agreement for him to have access.

The Bible says in Revelation, "Behold, I stand at the door and and knock." >> This is Jesus talking, but Jesus ain't the only one knocking. >> Every time that website pop up, the devil knocking. >> Every time they slide in your DMs, come on, that's the devil knocking.

Every time temptation comes, that's the devil knocking. But the DEVIL CANNOT BARGE HIS WAY IN. YOU HAVE TO GIVE HIM ACCESS. NOW, THE THING ABOUT GIVING THE DEVIL ACCESS, he like that cousin you let move in for the weekend and you look up and it's Christmas and you like, "Wait a minute.

Why you got gifts under the tree? You ain't even supposed to because he is intrusive. >> He don't know boundaries, especially if you give him access." When I say he don't know boundaries, I mean he ain't interested in just stopping with you. >> This is heavy weight. This is heavy weight.

The reason he wanted access to your grandfather so he can get to you. >> And so now you've been born >> with these desires that you didn't give yourself. >> NO. WE GOT TO BE careful church when we when people say, "I was born like this." And you say, "No, you weren't."

Perhaps they were because perhaps there was someone in their bloodline that gave access, hear me, to that spirit. >> So now I'm born WITH THE TASTE OF ALCOHOL. >> I I'm born with this perversion >> cuz my daddy was a preacher, but he was a porn addict. >> AND BECAUSE NOBODY TALKED about anything in the 80s, >> this ain't my personal testimony.

I'm just saying. And so the problem is the enemy has been chilling uncontested >> and we just been coming in here having a good time >> but not using our authority. Hear me not to just say hallelujah but to say Satan I rebuke you. >> Freedom comes by way of revelation by way of repentance AND BY WAY OF RENOUNCING.

YES, SIR. >> Good God. >> This is a heavy church, man. So, I I'm I'm sorry I can't be in the shallow just for you to feel good about your feelings. I got to give you some stuff that's actually going to transform you. See, deliverance comes by way of agreement.

Meaning you can come up forward and we can lay hands on you, cast the devil out of you, BUT UNLESS YOU CONFESS WITH YOUR mouth that he no longer has authority in your life until YOU DENOUNCE THE ACCESS THAT YOU ARE A RELATIVE GAVE HIM, HE STILL HAVE AN OPEN DOOR TO GO BACK AND FORTH. >> LET ME DEAL WITH YOUR FRUSTRATION WITH CHURCH.

YOUR FRUSTRATION is you tried. You came to the altar BUT IT FEELS LIKE IT DON'T WORK FOR YOU. THE reason it don't work is BECAUSE THE DOOR IS STILL OPEN. WELL, how do I close the DOOR? I CLOSE THE DOOR WITH A revelation that wait a minute, I might not have let you in.

SOMEBODY DID, BUT I DO HAVE AUTHORITY TO KICK YOU OUT. SO, IN THE NAME OF JESUS, MY FAMILY WON'T be bound by that anymore. Come on, church. In the name of Jesus, I cast this spirit of perversion off of me. In the name of Jesus, I know IT'S OLD SCHOOL.

WE GOT TO GET BACK TO PLEADING THE BLOOD OF JESUS. YOU FIGHTING AN OLD SCHOOL DEMON TRYING TO USE NEW TRICKS. IT DON'T WORK LIKE THAT. YOU GOT TO HAVE SOME POWER. Found your neighbor and TELL THEM, "GET YOUR POWER BACK. GET YOUR AUTHORITY BACK." YOU GOT TO START.

THE BIBLE SAYS, "I'VE GIVEN YOU THE KEYS. I'VE GIVEN YOU THE KEYS THAT WHATEVER YOU BIND ON EARTH SHALL BE BOUND IN HEAVEN. WHATEVER YOU LOOSE ON EARTH SHALL BE LOOSED IN HEAVEN." SO I BIND ANXIETY OFF MY FAMILY. I BIND INFERTILITY OFF MY FAMILY. I BIND DIVORCE OFF MY FAMILY.

I BIND DEPRESSION OFF MY FAMILY. I BIND BLACK BLOOD AND AND BREAST CANCER OFF MY FAMILY IN JESUS NAME. >> You got to get irritated >> WITH EVERYBODY IN YOUR FAMILY STRUGGLING WITH THE SAME THING. LISTEN, THAT IS NOT COINCIDENCE. THAT IS SPIRITUAL. >> How you go TO THE FAMILY REUNION AND EVERYBODY GOT THE SAME ISSUE?

IT'S CALLED A GENERATIONAL CURSE. >> I'M NOT SAYING THIS TO SOUND DEEP. I'M SAYING THIS SO YOU CAN GET FREE >> CUZ CURSES HAVE TO BE TOLERATED. >> WELL, you know, it just run my family. >> You know, nobody nobody get married in my family. >> You know, no marriage just last in my family.

You know, all the women in my family can do bad all by themselves. You know, it just run in my family. Everybody got diabetes. It's fine. I'm just going. No, no, no, no, no, no, NO, NO. THAT DON'T RUN. THAT R THAT USED TO RUN UNTIL IT ran into me.

That don't RUN IN MY CHILDREN AIN'T I NO, NO, NO. I REBUKE YOU, DEVIL. NO, NO. DIVORCE STOPPED WITH TRAVIS AND JACKIE. SO, J, JOSH, AND JUDAH AIN'T GOT TO DEAL WITH IT IN JESUS NAME. USE YOUR AUTHORITY. You have authority. You have authority. YOU HAVE AUTHORITY. YOU ARE THE LAST CHILD THAT'S GOING TO BE ABANDONED BY A FATHER.

YOU GOT AUTHOR. DO YOU hear what I'm You got authority. NO, I'MMA SHOW UP FOR MY KIDS. I'm not MAKING EXCUSES. I'MMA SHOW UP FOR MY WIFE. I'M NOT MAKING EXCUSES. THE CURSE stops >> with a revelation >> with resistance >> with repentance. >> And when I renounce, rebuke it. >> The Bible says, "Resist the devil >> and he will flee."

You done made the enemy your friend. >> I ain't saying listen. Go to go to your therapy. Go to your therapy. Go to your therapy. But then also get delivered. >> Cuz the strength of therapy is going to help you actually be able TO FIND OUT WHAT IT IS THAT you need to get delivered from.

But you've BEEN GOING TO THERAPY FOR 3 YEARS TALKING ABOUT THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER. WELL, you know that's right. And they just giving you a emotional massage. SOMEDAY YOU GOING MY WIFE WENT TO THERAPY. THE THERAPIST SAID, "WELL, WE DONE DID THIS LONG ENOUGH. YOU THROUGH NOW.

I AIN'T GOT NOTHING ELSE TO SAY TO YOU. YOU DONE BEEN HEALED FROM THIS." COME ON, TELL SOMEBODY, "USE YOUR POWER." >> All right. They don't like this. Mike, let's move. >> Bible says in Leviticus 20, "Sanctify yourself." Yeah. >> He says, "Man, listen. It's an invitation." He said, "Be holy, >> for I, the Lord your God, >> am holy." >> Sanctify.

What does it mean to sanctify yourself, Travis? >> It means to be wholly his. >> It means to be set apart. >> Anybody parents was in the military and they brought a china cabinet back from Germany? And they had the fancy dishes in there. >> And then you found out the dishes actually from Ross.

They really ain't that fancy. They just Somebody sold it to them at a flea market and like this is fancy. And they keep them dishes in that cabinet and never use them. Just waiting on a fancy day to use the fancy dishes. Hey, listen listen listen. >> And your you better not go in there messing with them. >> Why?

Why? Because they were set apart. >> Here we go. Mark. So when when the Bible talks about preserving yourself >> and actually applying a curse word, abstinence, IS BECAUSE YOU'RE SUPPOSED to be set apart. >> Here you are being a paper plate. >> Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay.

Here you are being Tupperware. Listen, this isn't love. Well, God said you >> the only reason ONLY REASON YOU WOULD LIVE that low >> is when you don't have a revelation that you've been bought with a price. You not FROM A FLEA MARKET. YOU'VE BEEN BOUGHT WITH BLOOD.

You've been BOUGHT WITH A A HEAVY PRICE. GOD SAYS, "I PAID FOR YOU. I PAID FOR YOU TO COME TO me >> and be ye holy." >> See what it means? Be set apart, >> be transformed. >> The Lord gave me this word for sanctification. He said Travis means being unsharable. >> One day you going to go to roof crisp.

I prophesy cuz the first time me and my wife went to roof crisp, we was invited by this couple and they're trying to show us they was fancy and we was young and we sat there and we looked at that menu and the couple was our age so we knew they weren't paying for us.

I looked at that menu, she looked at me. I said, "Man, wow, I'm not even hungry. She said, "That's my dog. I ain't hungry either, player." Boy, we left there AND GOT US A JUNIOR BACON FROM WENDY. Hungrier than a mug, but I ain't about $200 for no steak.

That man came out, it's sizzling hot, 310°. I said, man, we ain't got no 310° money. But when you go to root crisp, the sides are sharable. >> And God says, I'm not in the sharing business. >> I don't I don't want you to be sharable. I want you to be exclusive. >> But you can only be Christlike when you know >> what Christ likes. >> And that's why we are doing the work and we're exploring.

That's all I'm encouraging you to do. Don't be so prideful >> that you close doors for God to have access to. >> All I'm asking you to do, I'm not asking you to go home and burn nothing unless God tells you to. >> What I am asking you to do is to inspect. >> God, what do you even like this?

Okay, Jeremiah's text was written 2600 years ago and it is as relevant and as convicting and as rich today as it was written because this is God talking to the people in church >> and he calls his church den of thieves.

Now I think this whole thing is really crazy when I'm reading it. I got convicted reading it because God says, "Hey, the people I'm actually addressing are the lukewarm people." Who are the lukewarm people? It's the people who hide in here >> and cold out there. >> How come nobody but us know you go to church? >> How come Nobody but us know you anointed. >> It tripped me out.

You know who I love the most? I love the people who say, "Pastor, I'm called to the nations." >> Y' don't say it as much anymore, Kim, but they used to say this all the all the time back in the day. I'm called to the nations. And I'd be like, "Have you been called to your neighborhood?

How you going to be a missionary translating other? HOW YOU LEARN TO PREACH EBOLICS BEFORE YOU LEARN TO PREACH. And God says, "Man, my temple has become a den of thieves." And I had to press into this. I said, "Man, what's this about?" And I researched it and thieves in this time would hide in caves.

And God says, "Ma'am, my my my temple has become so comfortable, they ain't got to hide no more. >> They feel safe in here." >> And the Lord said, "There's something wrong." You ready? We're going somewhere. He said, "There's something wrong when sinners can sit in church and never feel convicted." >> How is it, let me talk to my pastor friends.

How is it that we prioritize in God's house making people feel comfortable? >> It's almost LIKE WE'RE LIKE WE'RE LIKE WE'RE LIKE, "GOD, we'll put your comfort on hold, >> but we got to make sure sinners sinners ain't supposed to feel comfortable. Sinners should be SAYING, "WHAT MUST I do >> to be saved?"

Sinners should be RUNNING UP TO THEIR HULTHOOD SAYING, "GOD, I SURRENDER." NOT, "MAN, that felt good. Let me go back and do the same thing again." God said, "There's something wrong. There's something wrong when we can sleep with whoever we want to and come up here and sing on the worship team." >> Okay?

There's something wrong. There's something wrong when we can we can play with magic >> and follow bonafide witches on Tik Tok >> and watch horror movies >> AND WATCH PERVERTED TV SHOWS >> AND DO ALL THIS AND THEN WE WONDER PASTOR I CAN'T FEEL THE PRESENCE OF GOD NO MORE.

NO, CUZ ALL YOU FEEL IS TAYLOR. >> You feel the presence of something. There's something wrong. There's something wrong when we when we abuse grace and say stupid stuff. >> Really, it's the devil. The devil ever told you this? You ain't got a lot to kick it. >> Go ahead and do it.

God going to forgive you later. >> That That's called That's called abusing grace. >> And God ain't absent. You just drowned out his voice of conviction with your compromise. AND GOD CALLS, HE SAYS, "HEY, HEY, HEY, TRAVIS, let him know the way I see him." I said, "How you see him, God?"

He said, "I see him as a thief." >> I said, "Oo, that's strong." He says, "You're a thief because you're robbing him of pure worship." >> And you're ROBBING HIM OF PURE worship because you're satisfied bringing him mixed incense. >> And God don't do mixed. And the problem is, I thought about this.

The problem is that we actually believe that God only receives what's directed to him. >> And we believe this because we actually don't know what worship is. >> We think that worship is a pretty song. >> That ain't what your Bible say. >> Worship is surrendered obedience. >> Now, there's a verse that I love so much.

Romans 12:1. Present your body living sacrifice holy and acceptable God which is a reasonable act of worship. I love that verse so much. And I felt like the Lord told me to read it in the message and I said, "Oh snap, >> let's hit a little different." >> He said, "So here's what I want you to do.

God helping you. >> You going to need HELP WITH THIS. TAKE YOUR everyday ordinary life, >> your sleeping, eating, going to work, and walking around life and place it before God as an offering. >> Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you could do for him. >> Ain't that true?

He says, Paul says here, "Hey, bring your real life." >> What would the offering plate look like if you didn't put money in it, but you put the things you were addicted to? I wonder I wonder how much marriage you want to. >> No, I'm serious. I'm dead serious.

I wonder Come on, player. I wonder how much condoms. >> Wow. >> I I I wonder how many websites I wonder how much is I thought I thought about this. Maybe this will get with you. I all I'm doing is just saying what he said and hopefully it'll bring you to a place of repentance.

I wonder how many of us now you won't have jeans in heaven. That's nowhere in the Bible. But let's just say you do. I wonder how many of us will be walking through the throne of judgment trying to clean our pockets before we get to them. >> Oh snap. >> Oh snap.

Take that dog. I got to I'm about to >> We're more afraid of getting pulled over by the cops than a rapture coming. Travis, AS IF GOD DON'T SEE EVERYTHING. DO ME A FAVOR. LOOK SOMEBODY SQUARE in the eyeballs and tell them, "God see you, dog." >> YOU CAN HIDE IT FROM YOUR PARENTS, YOU CAN'T HIDE IT FROM HIM.

YOU CAN HIDE IT FROM YOUR WIFE, YOU CAN'T HIDE IT FROM HIM. YOU CAN HIDE IT FROM YOUR KIDS. YOU CAN'T HIDE IT FROM HE SEES YOU. THE real you. And this is why I'm I got to land. THIS IS WHY GOD CAN GIVE himself any and everything except your worship.

MATTER OF FACT, YOUR VOICE WAS TAILOR MADE FOR WORSHIP. HE DESIRE YOUR LIFE WAS MADE FOR WORSHIP. IT'S THE ONLY THING YOU CAN GIVE GOD that he can't give himself your worship. >> AND SO WHENEVER YOU DON'T MAKE A DECISION TO GIVE GOD your devotion, the devil receives it by default. >> Adultery, ladies and gentlemen, is written in the Bible.

It's is mentioned in the Bible over 400 times. It matters to God. There's no other warning given to the people of God more frequently than idol worship and following false gods. It mattered to God because he knows >> that it is human nature >> to try to add God pluses. >> That didn't just start in this generation. >> They've been doing it all throughout the Bible.

AND THE WAY IT works is because we become desensitized. It becomes normal. It becomes cultural. It becomes entertainment and we find ourselves in this war of worship. Right? This adultery is a war of worship. A war of worship. Thought about Job. Job's life is caught in this war of worship.

And And here's something that's real deep. Nothing purifies your worship like loss. I'm telling you, I don't know if you really know how to worship in triumph, but I know if you really know how to worship in tragedy. >> See, anybody can worship in a delivery room. Anybody can worship at a graduation or a wedding.

But can you worship him at a funeral? Can you worship him when you don't get the the diagnosis that you desire? Can you worship him? And Job had to learn this. He said, "Though you slay me, yet will I TRUST." HE SAID, "YOU GIVE AND YOU take away, but blessed be the name of the Lord.

IN SPITE THE CIRCUMSTANCE I FACE, YOU ARE still worthy of my worship." Is there anybody in here that's allowed God to create an unconditional worshipper in you? >> So on the mountain or in the valley, I'll worship. Moses met with God on Mount Si, but he didn't meet God on the mountain.

The Bible says he met God at a burning bush in the Midian Valley. AND I KNOW WE LOVE STORIES ABOUT the comeup comeup kid. We love stories about Michael Jordan who got cut from varsity and then became the second greatest of all time AFTER KOBE BRYANT. WE LOVE THOSE kind of stories.

We we love the COME UP STORIES. WE LOVE FROM THE PIT TO THE PALACE. THAT'S A JOSEPH STORY. I LOVE those stories, TOO. BUT WHAT HAPPENS >> WHEN GOD DON'T TAKE YOU FROM THE PIT TO THE PALACE, >> BUT IT TAKES you from the palace to the pit. >> Let's talk for just a moment.

AND GOD SAYS, I DID THAT because I needed to get him to a sanctified place. >> I needed to get him to a set apart. I hope you're catching what I'M DROPPING. PERHAPS GOD TOOK you from that in order to bring you to him. WHAT YOU CALL LOST, GOD CALLS an invitation to holy good God.

And the first thing God tells him, I'm going to move THROUGH THIS REALLY QUICK. HE SEES A BUSH THAT'S ON FIRE, BUT IT'S NOT CONSUMED. And the first thing God says to him, you remember, he says, "Hey man, take your sandals off >> cuz you on >> holy ground."

Now, you can't just read the Bible. >> You got to read the Bible. As I was reading it, I said, "Wait a minute. >> How is holy?" First of all, Moses lived there for 40 years >> and all of a sudden it's holy. >> Second of all, IT'S A DESERT.

IT'S A WILDERNESS. The man just came from the palace and you calling this holy. >> You calling this valley holy? >> You calling this hospital room holy? >> You calling me being a single parent holy. >> You calling me being a widow >> holy. YOU YOU TALK GOD, DO YOU KNOW WHAT I'VE BEEN THROUGH?

AND YOU CALLING THIS PLACE UNEMPLOYMENT HOLY. GOD SAYS the reason I can call it holy cuz I'm there. And anywhere his presence is, it is holy ground. Don't you let the devil convince you that the place you're in, YOU'RE FORGOTTEN. GOD SAYS, "I GOT YOU RIGHT WHERE I WANT YOU, MAMA.

I KNOW YOU GOT TO CRY, BUT YOUR WEEPING ENDURE FOR A NIGHT. JOINTS IN THE MORNING CUZ HE'S THERE." GOD SAYS, "THIS IS HOLY. HELP ME PREACH." GRAB THREE PEOPLE AND TELL THEM, "WELCOME TO HOLY. WELCOME to holy. WELCOME TO SET APART. EXCLUSIVE. UNSERBLE. HOLY, HOLY, HOLY. And if we were honest, I feel the POWER OF GOD.

YOU WOULDN'T KNOW GOD LIKE YOU KNOW HIM if you didn't go through that. You wouldn't know God like you know him if you didn't watch YOUR FATHER DIE. YOU WOULDN'T KNOW GOD LIKE YOU KNOW HIM IF YOU DIDN'T HAVE TO GO THROUGH UNEMPLOYMENT. YOU WOULDN'T KNOW GOD LIKE YOU KNEW HIM IF YOU WEREN'T SICK BEFORE.

GOD SAYS PERHAPS YOU WENT THROUGH THAT so you can be introduced to the great I am. He says, "Now that I got your attention, now that I got your attention, I need you to take off the thing that carried you here." >> Okay? And I was wondering, I said, "Why?"

I said, "God, I need you to help me. I just I got a feeling I got a an inclination >> that this sandal thing is a little deeper than I was taught. >> I said, why would you have them take off sandals? And then I started thinking, I wonder whose sandals they were.

Cuz a man came to mind from Luke called a prodigal son. He show up to his dad and the dad said, "Man, I got a feast for you. I'm going to give you a ring, a robe, and sandals." SO CLEARLY SANDALS HAVE SOMETHING TO do with identity. >> Ain't it funny that the prodical son gets sandals when he returns, but Moses has to remove his when he's been sent? >> And then I had a question.

I SAID, "WELL, WHO SANDALS THAT THEY BELONG TO? DO THEY BELONG to Pharaoh or to Jethro? >> If they're GIVEN FROM IDENTITY, ONE OF HIS DADS had to give it to him." >> I asked the Lord. I said, "WHO SIDE LOOK?" LORD, please help me. Give me a revelation.

I really want to know. He said, "You really want to know?" I SAID, "I REALLY WANT TO KNOW. Is it in the Bible?" Whose sandals were there? Whose sandals were? I started researching Pharaoh sandals. Pharaoh sandals. Found out Pharaoh sandals were having an inscription in them from the enemies that he conquered. >> They were fancy.

You can't get You couldn't get them at Footlock. You got to go to StockX. They were fancy. Fancy. Somebody said, "What's StockX?" You going to know one day. I prophesied. He said, "Those are these are these are fancy sandals. Status sandals. Pharaoh sandals. Jethro sandals wouldn't have been that fancy cuz Jethro was a shepherd.

So either THEY WERE STATUS SANDALS or shepherd sandals." AND I SAID, "GOD, PLEASE TELL ME WHICH ONE." HE SAID, "YOU REALLY WANT TO KNOW?" I said, "Yeah." You would never believe what he told me. He sounded like the rock. HE SAID, "IT DOESN'T MATTER WHO SANDALS WERE." He said, "All that matters is that I required them." >> And if HE HAD HELD ON TO THEM, I'm going somewhere.

They would have been an idol. >> So, I need you to take off >> what your daddy gave you. >> And the reason it didn't matter if there were Pharaoh or JTO SANDALS BECAUSE GOD WAS SAYING, "YOU'RE neither a prince or a shepherd. You're a prophet. And what's ON THE OTHER SIDE OF SURRENDER?

This is heavyweight, >> is you actually finding the real you. >> You're from that, but you are not that. >> So idolatry is not just a war of worship. It's also a fight for identity. >> And the devil knows this. He's strategic, ladies and gentlemen. HE WANTS TO TETHER your idols to your ethnicity, >> right? >> To your tribe. to your race, to your family. >> He does this on purpose so that actually getting free from the idols for you will feel like you're selling out. >> Feels like you're losing a part of yourself.

SO NOW STANDING FOR HOLINESS means that you being less black. >> I want you TO SEE HOW SUBTLE THIS IS. Watch what it says in ENKJB. This is this powerful. HE SAYS, YOU BURNING INCENSE TO bail and you're walking AFTER OTHER GODS WHOM YOU DO NOT KNOW. >> God says you're more devoted to God you don't know >> than the one you claim saved you. >> What does it look like?

I love this verse. It's one one of my favorite verses that Lord let the words of my mouth and a meditation of my heart, watch this, be acceptable in your >> sight. He watches. BUT NOT ONLY THAT, THE BIBLE TALKS ABOUT THAT he smells. >> SCRIPTURE OFTEN DESCRIBES our offerings as being a pleasing aroma to the Lord.

There's a verse I found in Revelations 8. Watch this. This is powerful. The verse says this 8:4 The smoke of the incense together WITH THE PRAYERS OF GOD'S PEOPLE WENT UP BEFORE God from the angel's hand. How powerful is that? The smoke, the smoke of the incense together with the prayers, it went up to God.

I need you to see this. God inhales your worship. That's why it matters, ladies and gentlemen. That's why it matters. I have a question. >> What smell >> comes off of your life? >> What you smell like? >> What you smell like? >> Let me tell you a few things about smells.

Smells linger. You ever got in a car BEFORE AND YOU LIKE shaking your hand? Good God, man. You got a nerve to have cloth seats. If you're going to smoke, at least get leather seats. Good God. And I breathe off in this piece. Smells my smell is is more sensitive than any of my other senses.

I'm telling you. Don't you hate when you somewhere you just smell something? You good? My wife and I was on a plane literally two days ago. We were like, we had to cover our face. I thought something I thought like the the something happened in the bathroom. I was like, man, then I found out one of my boys passed gas.

They just disgusting. Smells reveal what's in the atmosphere. >> Ask your neighbor, "What you smell like?" And this is, listen, this is why idol worship matters to God. I'm done. Because Elijah carry a fragrance to him. And the Lord says, "You keep bringing him mixed smells, blended worship, divided devotion."

And he says here in Jeremiah 7, it's so powerful. Verse 9, this is so powerful, ladies and gentlemen. He lists out these sins and he says, "Man, you you you really think your stealing, your killing, your feeling, your concealing, your kneeling," he says, "You think that stuff don't matter to me?" >> HE SAYS, "YOUR WHOLE WEEK HAS BEEN FULL OF FOOLISHNESS.

And yet verse 10, you come here. You come here AND YOU STAND BEFORE ME. >> You sing songs to me, but you don't know me on Monday. >> You come here and you bring me an offering. You bring me your $20. But man, I rather you keep that and bring me your heart >> cuz $20 ain't going to get you to heaven.

A pure heart will. >> And you know what I want you to know? Last thing to write down, public worship is not a cover for private compromise. >> He says, Travis, I'm sending you on assignment this Sunday to warn my people that I'm not just a Sunday God.

He says, I'm collecting your worship Monday through Saturday. And it should flow. It should rise to God as a sweet aroma. My whole life should be an incense before him. That's why I love that song, Lord, prepare me to be a sanctuary, pure and holy, tried and true.

I want to be a safe I want to be a safe place for you, God. I DON'T WANT YOU TO HAVE TO GET in my presence to hold your breath. >> I don't I don't want it to be mixed. You know how you try to cover the smell with some cologne before you go to mama house and she love you.

She don't she don't call you out, but it's mixed. God says, "I don't do mixed. I do pure." >> Hear me. Hear me. Hear me. While you're convicted, I want you to hear the word from God. He's not talking about perfection, >> but he is talking about pursuit. >> Hey, he's talking about posture. >> He's not afraid of your truth.

He welcomes it. If it's a struggle, say it's a struggle. QUIT FAKING WITH GOD. If it's A TEMPTATION, BE HONEST ABOUT IT. >> God says, "Bring me your whole life." I'm done with this last scripture. 2 Corinthians 2:15. I'm so glad the Lord showed me this because it really ties everything together.

Says, "Our lives are a Christlike fragrance rising up to God. But this fragrance is perceived differently by those who are being saved and by those who are perishing. He says THIS FRAGRANCE TO THOSE WHO ARE PERISHING. He said man we smell like death and doom. But he said those who are being saved.

It's so powerful. We are a lifegiving perfume. AND WHO IS ADEQUATE FOR such a task as this? YOU SEE, WE ARE NOT LIKE THE MANY huers who preach for personal profit. It's not what we're doing here. We preach the word of God with sincerity and with Christ's authority, knowing that God is watching us.

I want my life to be a pure offering to him. And if that's your prayer, I want you to stand on your feet with me just for a moment. What would life look like if you didn't have anything hidden from him? What, man? What would God look what would life look like if you were just pure and open and transparent before him?

You want to know what it would look like? It would look like you being healed. But God can't heal what you hide. >> It look like you being transformed. It look like you being free. And that's what the Lord wants. WE'RE GOING TO LEAVE TOGETHER IN JUST A COUPLE MOMENTS, BUT I WANT TO GIVE YOU AN OPPORTUNITY.

It's so important in this moment. Would you lift your hands to him just for a moment and invite him? I'm so encouraged and excited about your future cuz I can see heaven version of you rising on the other side of surrender. For a moment, would you have a moment of just truth with him?

Come on. That's half the equation of worship. Not just spirit, but also truth. God, I've been holding on to some stuff. I've been justifying some stuff. I'VE BEEN TOLERATING some stuff. But I thank you that where the spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. Forgive me for allowing the enemy to sit comfortably in my family and in my heart uncontested.

But I ask, DEAR LORD, THAT YOU WOULD EMPOWER ME, that you would make me over, THAT YOU WOULD GIVE ME COURAGE. WILL YOU MAN GOD WOULD YOU GIVE ME boldness God help me TO COME TO EQUIP NIGHT SO I HAVE LANGUAGE to be able TO SHARE YOUR GOSPEL TO WITNESS TO OTHER PEOPLE TO DEFEND MY faith I surrender again I know I said some stuff today that may have been waiting for you but it is the Lord pulling your heart closer out of idol worship ship out of the culture's version of worship into intimacy with him.

He's not mad at you. I had I was a youth pastor and I had one of my girls. She said, "Man, is God mad at me? I've been whing out." She said, "Is God mad at me?" I like girls. She said, "Does he hate me?" I said, "What?"

I said, "If he was mad at you, you'd be in hell." I said, "Your next breath is proof that he loves you." >> God hates the sin, but he loves the sinner. >> FOR CHRIST SO LOVED the world that he GAVE HIS ONLY BE THAT WHOSOEVER, THAT'S THE SINNER, believe in him would not perish, but have everlasting life.

He loves you. >> And grace is the fact that you're still here. But don't abuse his grace >> and play Russian roulette with destiny. >> I have so many people I'm like, "Well, IS IT A HEAVEN OR HELL ISSUE?" That ain't Listen, I don't know, but I ain't trying to take a chance. >> Can I do this and still go to heaven?

I don't know, BUT I AIN'T TRYING TO TAKE A CHANCE. BUT EVEN ASKING THAT, >> even having THAT HALFWAY PARTIAL SURRENDER mentality shows you're not serious about God. >> That's like me being married to my wife and asking, "What's the bare minimum I could do for her to stay?" >> So, you mean if I kiss another woman but don't have a full affair, you won't divorce me?

What kind of conversation is that? >> YOU HEAR THAT? THESE ARE THE CONVERSATIONS WE'RE HAVING TRYING to balance, compromise. >> I just rather be right with God. >> I want to give him something unmixed, >> untainted. And I believe you do, too. And that's why the Lord has me preaching this.

Come to him every day and ask him to take away things that aren't pleasing to him. Also, I encourage you to get yourself a Bible and get plugged in to a Bible teaching church. It's so important for you to be around other believers that can help you grow in your faith.
