an angry mob i know all right you're first all right so pastor greg has his 6 a.m bible study um tomorrow morning at courtney's it's when he just you know digs into the word and that is his bible story study 6 a.m at courtney's yes and then 6 30 as i say every week is the iron man guys man you need to show up to courtney's restaurant 6 30. i get there like a 5 30. so if you want to come early and hang out and have fellowship even more come on the food is on us so it's food and fellowship and we have a bible study i've been working all week on something that god's given me and it's going to be good so you don't want to miss it guys be there our global vision young adults that is me and my husband we um are having a big event on october 30th we are going to a pumpkin patch and we're going to go through like the corn maze and the all the fun stuff and then we are going to take back home tiny pumpkins and we are going to paint the pumpkins and then we are going to have a bonfire and testimony that night so if you are ages 18 to 25 please come see me or my husband so you guys can get involved with that man you guys do all the fun stuff i know i'm sorry you're not invited i'm not invited youth ministry tonight's going to be awesome tonight the youth will be meeting at hillcrest baptist church in lebanon for jordan feliz concert be there at 5 pm so you guys get good seats and more volunteers especially in our parking ministry brother milo is still recovering from his knee replacement surgery was it knee replacement or just searching he's right there so i'm right there yeah from 10 a.m to 5 p.m at hilton garden inn and we'll be doing a seminar on nine lies that will destroy your marriage and it is awesome been working on the curriculum all week it's going to be great there is child care lunch will be provided and it's italian food it's going to be good eating you're not going to want to miss that um so and also that weekend which is cool will be the 15th anniversary celebration of this church so for you out of towners if you want to come in it'd be a good chance to do the saturday seminar stay over and then do the celebration with us for the 15th also on the 22nd is the cutoff day for the discounted rooms at the hilton garden end if you're coming from out of town and you book a room they are deeply discounting the rooms for the out-of-counters so thank you for being here we got somebody being being baptized on their birthday today amen came all the way in just for that and so we have a lot of visitors and and we're honored that you are here and i know we're we're not camera shy or a verse around here and so there's there's always a crew there's always a group and i know the last couple of weeks we had the folks from netflix and all of that and more of that will still continue to come out the cbs documentary that they did on our church and on our ministry actually comes out the 21st of this month so it's the first of the round of all of the big major documentaries uh they're kind of being worldwide made about us right now and what the lord is doing i think it's interesting that even the secular media can't ignore what god's doing on this campus amen they can't ignore what god's doing and so cbs will be dropping their hopefully non-hit piece on the 21st for a special report but i want you to welcome some folks here today you'll see various folks that are around the crowd uh peter is kind of producer back there in the back some other guys they are from sweden amen they're from sweden and that documentary film crew here and uh so they're they're kind of sharing what we're doing and the boldness and the courage and the growth that we have way over there in another part of the world and so we welcome them and we thank them for being here today how many of you we love to do this how many of you are not from the great state of tennessee you flew here you drove here you got here you're here for just today's service stand up all over the house so we can honor you if you're from another state look at that wow from another state for one service thank you thank you you may be seated we honor you thank you for being under the house man it's beautiful to to meet all these folks and everywhere we go people just stand in line and tell us what the lord is doing in their life and how he's moving and then so many of you have made a journey to be here so many of you made a journey to be back how many of you you're not here you're from out of state but you've been here more than once this is not your first time look at that look at that wow look at all the the repeat families amen let me give you a couple of uh of announcements uh i don't i don't get to be in the the powerful comedian routine at the beginning amen with uh my daughter kiki and vaster danny they do a great job but so i i got a couple announcements that i want to share with you uh tomorrow night i'm going to be in bisbee arizona now only say that because there's always people online that say oh my goodness you said something online in the live stream and we found out that you were there well you better get there early because i've never been to arizona and the and i'm telling you they have had calls like you would not believe protesters are showing up in full force in bisbee but never fear because the pastor hired the arizona rangers to show up and encircle the building amen so it's going to be beautiful and uh so it's going to be fun so we're going to have a mini war tomorrow night in busy arizona amen and i'll be preaching for that and so it's going to be beautiful but i say all that to say my flight leaves about 4 45 in the morning so men all right men wednesday morning six o'clock we're not gonna cancel bible study but we can't do it in the morning so we're gonna get with courtney's and tom and all of that and push it and so wednesday morning six o'clock at courtney's for men's bible study because i'll be gone too early in the morning and last time i i did a reading you know online and somebody tried to play it it worked out pretty well but sometimes high-tech redneck is not as good as actually being there okay so i know some of you men wanted to stay over and be there and i apologize that you can't but maybe just stay tuned wins it you'll be all right praise god this is a good church amen a week that i'm like what in the world is going on right now but we are going to be starting a new women's ministry we're launching that tuesday night at seven o'clock child care will be provided it will be right here on the campus and we are launching a ministry called the secret place and it's going to be something so beautiful for you that i really do not want you to miss because not is it always going to be a bible study no we will always get into the word of god together but we're going to go into some secret places of our lives with each other because there's some things in our lives that hinder us in every relationship and every job and with our children that we have so buried deep within us that we do not even realize the effect that it has on our daily lives and so the name kind of came from a dual place of we're going to go into some secret places of our lives together amen and i want you to be in an environment that is comfortable for you and so i have learned in my life that transparency always disarms the enemy so if you think for one minute that you're going to come in there and i'm going to be some well put together pastor's wife well you might as well show up to find out that i am a whole hot mess okay and so i just want to have a comfortable environment for all of you to come and join us so do not miss this tuesday night seven o'clock and we will have following weekend don't forget as pastor danny said the marriage matters seminar the seven lies that marriages believe if you will and uh the nine oh he doesn't went up to nine of them praise god so something going on and there's always something whereby you can be involved to serve roll up your sleeves and just hit the ground running and i'm glad to be a part of a happening church amen a church that's actually doing something for the kingdom and reaching broken people and so today i want you to be faithful in your giving i know so often we give to others we have some really big things that we're going to be giving towards very very soon especially on our 15-year anniversary on the 7th but today i just want you to dig deep want you to pray be released in a spirit of generosity because obviously in order to bless so many people so unbelievably benevolent as we do we have to be able to have the funds to do that i can promise you without hesitation that every single month we give more money to others than we spend on ourself that's a principle that we use around here because we believe that you cannot out give god we've seen it happen over and over and over and over and every time we shovel it out god backhoes it right back in we watch it happen all the time remember the other day i got up and told you that we paid off a church's forty thousand dollar debt well guess what three days ago somebody saw that they were intrigued and sent us a check for forty thousand dollars to make up the difference amen we just can't give it away fast enough god just keeps giving it giving it benevolence so that we can bless those around us we have some benevolent needs this week to help some individuals lord this very week this very day be writing and signing some checks of people that are just hurting need some bills to be paid need some extra aid as it were in their life and they're just struggling missionaries pastors people around the world that we're sowing into churches starting all over the planet lord we're grateful that it's global vision we get to have a global ministry a global outreach lord not just a local outreach we have a big one of those but a global thumbprint for the gospel we thank you for that so help us today lord to give with hearts of gratitude with hearts of humility before you that everything we have belongs to you and you've only asked for a small percentage in return so lord if we would just obey the principles of your word just obey the principles not because we have to but because we want to if we just submit lord you would bless us so unbelievably i pray that we would know as a church collectively and that we would know as individuals just walking with you every day that we can in no way outgrace you out god you or out give you we just can't so father i pray today that you would release us in that spirit of generosity and that our entire church would be a haven of giving to the needs of others in jesus name and all of a desire deep within us to be a part of something bigger there's this piece that knits us all together it's the spirit and i just love that when pastor speaks and the lord has already spoken something to me and it all lines up because we are all knit together we are all his children in this next song as we're preparing our offering and we're sewing into the kingdom i love it so much and we play it a lot at funerals but i believe it's a living song it's a it's a song that reminds us why we're here to bring glory and honor and if we would fill ourself up with his word with his spirit and not the world then we would have something to offer when we come across those that are hurting those that are seeking because a lot of times they're seeking and they don't know what it is they're looking for until you find it and if you found jesus then you know what i'm talking about because he is faithful he is true he is closer than a brother he is a friend if you need a friend he's a healer he's a provider he's a waymaker he's a promise keeper he's the alpha and the omega our strength he's our hiding place he's our comforter and he is the king of the world come on let's stand let's stand and this morning church well i want to invite you to john chapter number eight in the word of the lord today the gospel according to john the eighth chapter uh i love numbers in the bible sometimes you can over spiritualize them but numbers mean something and eight is the number of new beginnings and i hope somebody today gets a brand new start today amen it's a brand new start because of the power of the resurrected savior the lord jesus christ again thank you for being here we honor you for your presence we're humbled by the fact that so many of you every single week are part of this church but then also many of you you just make such a long long trek and journey to be here and we say thank you so very very much well a lot i want to chat about from the word and so we're going to pray and we're going to jump right in to what the bible has to say here in john chapter number eight father i'm grateful for every single person that's here and i'm well aware of the fact that all the needs are different everybody in this room needs something from god not a one of us need anything from greg and so i pray that you had utilized this time to be valuable to our hearts lord i pray that we would understand we are here because of your grace your forgiveness your mercy the only thing relevant on this campus is you and the gospel because it is still the power of god unto salvation so empty me of greg lock and i pray you'd give me wisdom give me clarity give me boldness lord i pray that you'd give me biblical soundness over the course of these next few moments as we decipher and discern what the truth of god's word has to say in this room and online captivate our hearts so that you and you alone get every ounce and drop of glory from everything that's said and done and accomplished in this service transform our hearts make us more like jesus and we're gonna thank you for in jesus name and all of god's people said you know when you get in the gospel of john especially you have a very very busy time in the ministry of jesus it's like he understood as we said a couple of weeks ago there were no times for hesitation people were being healed he was preaching night and day and noon time and all over the place thousands yeah tens of thousands perhaps even hundreds of thousands of people were coming to hear and see this miracle-working man that calls himself a prophet of god that calls himself the messiah there was a magnetism about his personality and far and wide hither and yawn people began to come because never a man spake like this man's faith but sometimes in the context of what jesus did and who jesus was and what jesus said there was an altercation there was a moment there was a conversation there was a miracle there was something that transpired that you just cannot afford to overlook every encounter with jesus is relevant every new testament miracle is powerful but sometimes the word spends a little extra time on something that is so important that we can not just gloss over it because we learned about it in our days of sunday school we have to pay attention and how many of you know it's called the word of god because the words mean something so i want you to notate if you would john chapter number eight we're going to verse by verse line by line sentence by sentence we're going to decipher what god has for us today chapter 8 verse 1 it says jesus went unto the mount of olives now that does not seem very important whatsoever until you understand that the mount of olives was a religious hot spot it would be like jesus today going to nashville as the capital city where there are a lot of denominational headquarters he went right back to the heart of religion because here's what you need to know it is not about man-made religion it is about a pure personal relationship to jesus christ and jesus always struck at the very root and the very heart of man made religion as a matter of fact man-made religion has always been the enemy of the gospel of jesus christ because man-made religion says you have to do this and you have to do this and you have to do this christianity says it's already been done by the grace of jesus christ what can wash away my sin nothing but the blood of jesus and you are not saved because you're a baptist or a pentecostal or a catholic or because you spoke in tongues or hadn't experienced or gave money in the plate or you've been baptized catechized or pasteurized you are saved because you've repented and believed the gospel of jesus christ and so plainly he goes to the very heart of religion a very place where he had been on a number of occasions and watch this verse 2 this is beautiful and early say early oh not 10 30 early oh no early early in the morning he came again so notice he'd been there before into the temple and all the people came unto him and he sat down and noticed what he does and he taught them now if in fact words in the bible mean something and they gloriously do it does not say at noon the middle of the day 7 30 at night with the tent up and the lights going and the screens go oh no it says and early in the morning and what the holy spirit shows me is that jesus was willing to inconvenience his life and his schedule because he always had time for other people be very careful of the individual that always serves themselves and just simply pretends to serve other people but it's only for the purpose of serving themselves william booth the founder and president for many years of the salvation army used to live by this mantra others lord yes others may this my motto be others lord yes others that i might be like thee and you will never be more like god than when you love what god loves matter of fact if you read the bible in proverbs chapter 17 it says ye that love the lord hate evil if you love god you will hate what god hates and you will love and admire what god loves i happen to know what god loves and by the way so to you for god so loved uh you see god loves people the gospel is not about tense the gospel is not about money the gospel is not about buildings the gospel is not about america or china the gospel is about people the death the burial the resurrection he that knew no sin became sin for us that we might be made the righteousness of god in him jesus said in john 14 6 i am the way the truth and the life and no man or woman or child shall come to the father but through him the gospel is about the salvation and redemption of people sometimes i get accused i say sometimes a lot of times i get accused of being a christian nationalist well you're just trying to save america oh no i'm trying to save americans because we'll never save the nation unless we save the people of the nation it's about people it's not about borders and boundaries it's about the blood saving people from their sins and the bible says very early in the morning jesus was willing to inconvenience his day planner he was willing to inconvenience his schedule of being busy and the bible says that early in that morning he came into the temple but it also says something that you can't miss it says and all the people were there to hear him and he sat down and taught them so if jesus inconvenienced himself to get up and teach them notice the inconvenience of the crowd they were so hungry that they showed up to hear what he had to say they could have been like most of us and hit that snooze button there is not a worse more wicked sound on the planet than that stupid iphone wake you up nonsense early in the morning i'm telling you it's unbelievable right it's right in the middle of the best dream you've ever had to i mean it's right in the middle of some great man you're snoozing you're cruising man and i'm like shut up but these people did not hit their snooze button you know why they were starving they got up they made some coffee they ran down to the temple they got their lickety split they were standing in line they were packed to capacity like a stomped and bed they were everywhere feed us jesus feed us jesus so not only was he there early they were there early because they're a testimony to this tent people are hungry for truth are hungry for the truth of god's word people are hungry for the gospel people are hungry for a prophetic voice in the wilderness that'll stand up and say thus saith the lord you know this morning when i was talking to these dear gentlemen and ladies as well from sweden he was asking you know what why do you think that this growth is happening and i said because we're just saying what a lot of people wish their pastor and their church would say it's not because we're some kind of special individual it's not because you know i've got some you know extra something that somebody else doesn't have we just have a little spiritual spitzer ringtone happen to have a couple of backbones in the house and we just stand up grab a microphone and say here's what the bible says thus saith the lord thus saith the lord thus saith the lord thus saith the lord it's not about thus saith the preacher it's not about thus saith greg locke it's not about thus saith joe biden or even trump it's about thus saith the lord thus saith the lord is what it's about and so we have to recognize the fact that people then and people now are still unbelievably hungry for the truth of the bible that's why they got there early that's why i woke up this morning and i had to put on my my little coat it was 41 degrees and i thought oh my goodness if it's like this during church people gonna freeze and i remember last year everybody just got their coats got all huddled up nestled up husbands and wives was hugging for the first time in six months under the tent man we got all snuggled up real good half the crowd wore deodorant half the crowd didn't but nobody cared we were snuggled up man we were having a time you know why because people don't care how hot it is they don't care how cold it is they want to hear the truth they want to hear the truth we were coming back from the knoxville area yesterday where i preached at a men's conference i say men's conference we had so many people call to be there that they opened up for everybody so it was a victory conference but i was making this statement to julia yesterday i said you know it's interesting truth always has a platform did you hear what i just said that's why i'm not worried about censorship well brother log they canceled you on twitter that's okay telegram grew when they did what are you gonna do if they cancel you on youtube that's all right the other platforms will grow if they cancel us on facebook zuckerberg guess what we'll grow in another platform you know why because people will always find a way to hear the truth there's always a platform for truth there's always a platform for truth so i just want to go ahead and serve notice on you the world and the devil just in case we get canceled on everything across the board and just in case the whole thing gets shut down grid or no grip when it all goes to hell in a hand basket same bat time same bat channel 10 30 every sunday morning we'll pack this place out and preach the truth of god's word with or without a platform at all with or without a platform at all so you never have to wonder y'all gonna be open yep we're gonna be open so early in the morning the people came to hear what he had to say and he sat down and he taught them and there was revival in the atmosphere there was power in the atmosphere it was it was electrifying here's jesus teaching the word of god to the people now look i love to communicate but i'm here to tell you can't nobody communicate like jesus never a man spake like this man spain and like little kids being fed candy they were just sitting there give us more give us more give us more like little baby birds feed me feed me feed me feed me and everywhere i go people say feed me feed me they're starving to death because for some strange arrogant reason seems to only be a handful or so of churches in america that are actually saying what needs to be said and by the way i don't just mean politically i mean biblically it seems like we have reached theological bankrupt status the day of the mega church was ruined by covet and i say thanks be unto god because they needed to fall and be exposed for what they were we want to stay humble we want to stay right we want to stay biblical i've seen too many pastors in churches get famous and go crazy but we're going to keep it straight we're going to keep it right we're going to keep it biblical and we are not going to compromise and the day i compromise the integrity of the word of god is the day that i need to step down and give the microphone to somebody that will stand up and be the man of god that he was called to be so the people sat there to hear what he had to say but notice who showed up verse 3. and the scribes and pharisees interesting that i can read it like that and it seems like that's the way it's really written right these arrogant pompous the these legalistic people that cared more about rules than they did about relationship and the scribes and pharisees brought onto him a woman taken in adultery and when they had set her in the out loud somebody told me the next word midst not when they set her in the choir loft they didn't set her in the green room in the hospitality tent and said you know let him get done then we'll deal with you know they said her in the midst you know why because pharisees always have a point to prove i was preaching yesterday on the woman with the issue of blood and the bible says in one of those verses that she did not get better but over 12 years rather she grew worse and i was drawing the analogy from the text the interpretation of the text that if you don't deal with the problem it does not get better by itself it gets worse so here's what i used to think and i underscore used to i used to think as a pastor well you know if you just if you just ignore a problem it'll go away oh it'll get bigger if you ignore division it'll eventually undivide itself oh no it'll knot itself up well you know if you ignore this problematic whiny hiney complaining critical pharisee of a per if you ignore them long enough they'll go away no they won't they'll build a team of people around them and split the whole church is what they'll end up doing they get people behind them they're like chainsaws did you hear did you hear did you hear did you hear did you hear you got to chop them off at the feet before they get that nonsense started because when god's moving and revivals flowing guess what all of a sudden the serpents start coming out of the fire and the vipers start coming out and we got to get to a place where we say absolutely not we are not going to allow a spirit of pharisee craziness and you know ideas that well we got to do this and this and this is this is not the way my grandmother's church was run i hear that all time well y'all don't do things like the church i grew up in this ain't the church you grew up in it's that simple that's a good thing about starting one we ain't got a cemetery ain't none of your people buried up in this place you can leave any time you want to ((music playing)) i say all the time ain't a seatbelt one in this place nobody's making you stage right ain't nobody got you buckled in but when i get fired up you better buckle up praise god because i'm going to tell you what the truth is and the truth is we're not going to allow that critical judgmental pharisaical spirit in this church it'll squelch the power of god some people just look for stuff some people just like to pick on folks you ever noticed chickens on a farm they they pick at each other and they'll find that one little spot they'll pick pick pick pick pick i mean they'll pick that thing all the way plumbed down below the flesh pic pic pick and i know people like that in church they just pick i didn't like this well i didn't like that pig pig pig go pick somebody else's church apart we're trying to reach people with the gospel okay we've got freedoms to maintain we've got children to rescue we've got converse to preach two baptismal celebrations to celebrate churches to start missionaries to bless single moms to revive we've got people i ain't got time for pig pig pig pig look i tell stephanie all the time look people want to call me people want to talk to me people want to have coffee with me that's cool i enjoy counseling folks i don't mind trying to help you with marriages you know danny and suzanne are better than i am at the end of the day with that but you know that's why he's talking to 50 000 people a day it seems like but look there's certain people that you can talk to but everybody's like well i want to talk to pastor law i can't talk to anybody but pastor locke okay first of all i'm not your savior jesus is so get over that nonsense but secondary let me tell you this i tell stephanie look if all they want to do is nitpick stuff send them to somebody else i ain't going to talk to them i get enough criticism as it is i don't need it from people inside the church now if you've got some real constructive criticism because i preached something that was so out of context it was bogus it was crazy it was buffoon-like then you can sit down and say pastor i think what you said was ridiculous and we can deal with that i've been known to get up and repent and say you know what i'm growing i'm learning i said something that wasn't right but if you just want to nitpick how we do things at the church sayonara my brothers and it's interesting that the bible says right in the middle of this great revival the scribes and pharisees even showed up my question is what are these jokers even doing there they hated jesus never one time in the bible did any of them except nicodemus who got converted never did one time in the bible the pharisees and scribes ever say anything good about jesus they tried to kill the man on a number of occasions he had to convey himself away they're trying to throw him off cliffs push him down a hill i mean these people hated him and yet they showed up at every public sermon the man preached they never missed one it's like what we call a bad car wreck they could not turn their face away they're like what he's going to be where and they just showed up you think we get some protesters jesus had some church testers a bunch of church folks showing up protesting the truth because the truth flew in the face of what their granddaddy told them and i don't care what your granddaddy told you i care what the bible says what the bible says we could get in that for a long time but nonetheless the word of god says that these scribes and pharisees showed up they had to say something and they found this woman in adultery and they threw it right in the middle of the whole thing you know why they wanted a humiliator you see pharisees don't care who they hurt as long as they look good at the end of the conversation pharisees do not care about your spiritual growth or the lack thereof they only care about their agenda the beautiful thing about our style of ministry is that people that have an agenda get exposed easily by themselves they just get exposed they have an agenda they have a nefarious plan they're trying to work everything they're trying to network behind the scenes oh we're going to bring them down oh contre moffrey you ain't going to do it because god is greater than you and your nefarious criticism judgmental plan and so they don't care who they hurt and they don't care what walls they have to knock down and run through the bible says that they did this for the purpose of humiliation now look i am convinced that we have the biblical ministry of restoration not humiliation do we preach hard yes do we call out sin and call names yes but it's for the purpose of this galatian 6 1 brethren if a man be overtaken in a fall ye which are spiritual restore restore restore such a one in the spirit of meekness considering thyself lest i also be tempted bear ye one another's burdens and soul fulfill the law of christ what fulfills the law of christ restoration kindness forgiveness so we believe in being biblically confrontational so we can restore but we do not believe in humiliating people just for the sake of making us look good and making them look bad and they pulled her into the midst but then notice this they say unto him master this woman was taken in adultery now watch the next phrase in the very act ru ro huh now you got internet and you got a tv so don't get mad when a preacher gets bold it says they called her in the very act i can figure out what that means one thing i know it means is one of them pharisees was a peep and tom looking through some venetian blinds he should have been looking through right he knew where to go he knew what a show in town was he knew where it was oh we just so happened to find this woman in the very act they caught her in the midst of adultery and we're not going to justify the adultery nor is jesus in the context but he's going to handle it much differently and much more soundly solidly and biblically than the critical judgmental pharisees did they said oh we found this woman in the very act now i do want to stop and say this before we go any further it takes two to tango amen only one of them gets pulled into the church service the woman that could be easily victimized the woman that could be emotionally abused more they didn't bring the manny i know it takes two to do what they got called do and she was caught with him but the bible says they only brought her to church now this is lockology not theology but here's what i believe i believe the reason they didn't bring him in is he's probably one of the scribes and pharisees they showed up to the house they're like harold again good grief man you're making us look bad dude golly brother we gotta sweep this under the rug now i do want to have a little caveat here and say this i came up in a denominational hierarchy it called itself independent but it was a denomination because you could only be independent like they were independent and that's not independent that's dependent on nonsense okay and that's a mouthful but nonetheless here's what they taught you as long as you wear a suit as long as you carry a king james bible as long as you've got wire rim glasses as long as you've got your hair parted just right and as long as you don't sing from screens but rather from a church of god read back him known you can look at all the pornography you want when nobody sees you you can get up and you can preach hell fire and brimstone and be sleeping with women in the church huh i'm talking about some of the biggest churches in america who are pastored by nothing more than perverts and predators you know why because they were taught a performance-based style of christianity that if you talk right and you look right and you dress right then on the inside you can be as quick as a dog's hind leg it's about what's in you not what's on you church you better make sure you're right inside not try to fool people on the outside because eventually the fooling will fall off and everybody will find out who you really are and so they didn't bring the man in they just brought the woman in caught in the very act verse 5 now moses and the law commanded us that such should be stoned but what says thou let me tell you something about this text they didn't care what saith thou they weren't looking for an answer they were looking for an argument they weren't looking to find the solution to the situation they were trying to create more drama so what did they do they used the bible against jesus that's dumb use the written word against the living word okay if you get in a word altercation with the word of god you're gonna look like a fool at the end of the conversation you're gonna look like a and so they're like hey let us tell you what moses said like jesus didn't know what moses said and they start getting out they said master look they did not submit to his lordship that's like fake people that can't stand me that say pastor oh no no no no no they're just trying to be fake there was nothing real about these guys they were as phony and masked up as you can imagine master we found this woman taken in adultery and moses said that we should kill her but we'd like to know what you say hmm now i'm preaching so they sounded like that when they talked when i do my my audio reading of the bible i'm going to use every voice i've ever wanted to use right and so these guys are trying to trip jesus up trying to make him look bad because he made them look bad when he came to town because when you put fallacy and truth side by side the truth rises and the fallacy pales in comparison so they said what do you say about what moses said i love this verse six this is so beautiful then this they said tempting him why that they might have to accuse him they were just mad they just won the news media look fake news has always been fake news and this is 2 000 years old this they said just so that they might accuse him i love what jesus does but jesus stooped down and with his finger wrote on the ground now we'll finish that verse in a minute because it's powerful it's going to liberate give some freedom lack of bondage to some people in this room i can promise you i know it will because when i got a hold of this man it helped me but notice what it says it says that while they're asking and they're about to continue asking while they are in chainsaw mode nag nag mad mad mad right while they're doing that the bible says that jesus stooped down and with his finger wrote on the ground when i was in bible college i probably heard 25 sermons on what jesus wrote and i still don't know nor do you but whatever he wrote was so practical so prophetic and so powerful that it changed the entire atmosphere of the gathering and here's what i do know there's only three say three not thirty three there's only three times in the whole bible that god ever wrote anything with his finger and told me about it in exodus chapter 20 he writes the decalogue the ten commandment thou shout thou shalt not thou shout thou shalt not in daniel chapter five his hand appears on the plaster of the wall and writes mean he mean he tackled you farsin thou art weighed in the balances and found warning the third and only other time is right here when jesus stooped down and wrote with his finger on the ground so what he wrote doesn't matter the fact that he did is the emphasis of the context he can be playing tic-tac-toe connect the dots and hang man he's jesus he can do whatever he wants to everybody's like well he was probably writing the names of the people that that's fine that would have been very very convicting right just start writing their names you know start drawing arrows to where they're standing there jesus was super direct he didn't mind taking people off okay he was not this meek and mild limp-wristed man be pampered baby jesus that you you know try to give him undue credit for i'm telling you jesus didn't mind calling you out he still don't mind calling you out and so he just stoops down on the ground and starts doodling starts drawing starts erasing and writing again racing whatever he wrote it freaked them all out because they're about to leave but here's the liberating part after he stooped down and wrote with his finger on the ground there's a comma and then it says this this helps me as though he heard them not even jesus gives you a justifiable right to ignore stupid people in church talk to the hand because the ears aren't listening somebody's like well they just keep coming to me that's cause you keep listening well so and so just keeps telling me this that's cause you keep listening to so and so you know how you can fix it it's real simple i'm gonna help you pastorally right now it's my word to you right now you know how to stop them from coming to you at work or especially in church or in regards to criticism against your family the next time they show up and they start that chainsaw nonsense here's what you do they will thank you are demon-possessed or smoking crack and they will leave you alone in the name of god i guarantee you they will leave you alone just fall on the ground start writing stuff and he ignored the naysayers he ignored the criticism he ignored the judgment he ignored the nonsense he ignored the fact that they wanted to humiliate this woman not bring her to a spirit of humility and repentance and by the way that's what the church that's what denomination that's what religion will do it'll keep you under bondage but never allow you to be released through repentance and jesus said i ain't gonna listen what y'all got to say y'all ain't even worth paying credence to it's almost like jesus said y'all getting on my nerves and jesus got on the ground and started writing as though he heard he ignored them ignored them that's a great great thing to do just ignore them but then watch this verse seven so when they continued asking him oh man they really nagging now they just keep on keep on you ever notice some people just keep on let me help somebody right now some of you need to kick toxic people out of your life and quit playing their silly games well they're in my family well they're crazy and they hate you they're not inviting you to the movies next week okay there's some people in your life that cause you misery because you keep allowing it you better set some healthy boundaries you better draw a line in the sand and say look you're either for me or you're against me jesus did you either gonna stand with me or you are gonna be cut off there's some people you just gotta walk away from cause i said last week not everybody in your boat is rowing the same direction some i'm in the back with a screwdriver trying to drill a hole in the back of that thing so you can keep on sinking you wonder why you can't get what you're supposed to get it's because you ain't got the right people in the boat to figure out and i know there's some justifiable criticisms at times that we gotta we gotta figure out the flow right we gotta keep this platform from flooding praise god i get it because there's things we gotta change at times i know we've grown fast and so some of you feel like we've outgrown you that's not a criticism that's something we're working on i get it but if you just want to sit around and gritch about stuff it's the wrong place three eyes got big i said gritch praise god just checking sometimes i'd like to see if you're paying attention praise god cut toxic people out of before we got into this tent we've had a couple little schedules right you hear people on facebook like oh my goodness have you seen how many people left global vision yeah about 20. i know who left and i ain't lost no sleep over them none i ain't lost no sleep over okay i know there's some people there hit or miss i get it and they're not able to be as faithful or they travel they got job i get all that but there are some people they just want me to play their game i simply just want to keep you on the hook you know what happens we could have a marvelous sunday and i'll go to lunch with my family and this afternoon they'll text me maybe i'll just block them right every time right baby they'll text me they'll get me so stirred up i feel like i'm fighting hornets sometimes they're counseled with them for months on end i know what they got in their life good thing i got a big mouth and sometimes the people you help the most will destroy you they'll rob from you steal from you lie to you turn on you roll state on you they'll judas you stab you in the back then stare at you in the face and smile like a clown and think it's all good in the hood life's too short for that crap i said crap i'm sick of it some of you need some new friends we're watching god do something amazing here and i'm not going to lay down and roll over and placate to a bunch of people that can't handle what god's doing up in his house nonetheless i digress for now so he did not listen to them so when they continued asking on on on he lifted up himself and he said unto them he that is without sin among you somebody got a good sound system praise god i heard that let him first say first cast a stone at her that's pretty powerful right there he's like oh okay which one of you uh willy-nilly individuals don't have sin in your life pick up a rock killer when we look at stony which by the way they were exactly right the mosaic law justified them killing her but jesus was coming with grace and mercy and forgiveness and a balm of healing and so he said okay which one of you guys have some sin he that has sin among you first just go ahead pick up a rock and kill this woman now stoning was not just picking up some gravel out of the parking lot saying flick flick bad adulteress woman don't ever do it again can't come back for six months no we're talking about busting mouths breaking necks snapping back bones it was a horrendous vicious violent way to die and these bloodthirsty church-going lunatics had rocks in their hand and they were ready to kill this woman four a public grievance that no doubt all of them privately had involved themselves in and they're like you know what we we got to project here we can't let people think that we're crooked behind closed doors so we got to do something to make a public example a spectacle out of this woman and they picked up rocks and jesus said let me tell you he that's without cinnamon you pick up that rock and kill her with it and nobody did a thing now i'm not a language scholar i do well to speak in english when i preach if we have an english teacher here they will know this but uh i'm not gonna have you stand up or anything because i'll be intimidated if there's one in the house because i still say ain't and i'm very redneck but jesus they would say an english major a person that understands the structure of the english language from which we get our bible here they would understand that they would say something to the effect that jesus kind of spoke in the wrong person he didn't he did this purposely but it would almost be like me being in this crowd with you and i say he that's without sin among you pick up a rock and kill this woman while i'm kind of talking down and at you when in actuality what i would say is hey he that's without sin among us why because i'm one of you right i'm here with you but jesus very carefully is very purposeful with his phraseology he does not say hey he that's without sin among us let's pick a rock kill us woman he points them out and says he this without sin among you because he was the spotless son of the living god ye god himself he that knew no sin behold the lamb of god which takes away the sin of the world john 1 29 and had jesus said us he would have been lawfully obligated to pick up a rock and kill that woman so he put it on their shoulder and said hey skippy that's in the original hey skippy if you ain't got no sin pick up a rock kill this woman and watch this and again he stooped down and rode on the ground he went right back to ignore him he went right back to just closing the little door standing in his little cubicle you know he just went right on doing his own thing and they which heard it being convicted by their own conscience went out one by one beginning at the eldest even unto the last now understand that was a historical context of why they did that for respective purposes and jesus was left watch this alone and the woman standing in the midst here's a beautiful thing about jesus that i don't have time to to really capitalize on and talk about for the few remaining moments that we have but what i like about jesus is this the sin was sin no matter who was dealing with it but how it was dealt with was miraculously worlds apart different the religious people wanted to shame her publicly but the grace of the gospel of the loving lord jesus wanted to restore her privately he did not deal with her sin until everyone else left it wasn't about humiliation it was about revival and restoration and redemption of a woman that needed a touch from jesus christ and so jesus now stands alone in the midst and the woman was standing there verse 10 and when jesus lifted up himself so he let everybody leave he stands up he saw none but the woman he said unto her woman where are those thine accusers hath no man condemn thee he said hey lady where's the rocks at where's the law at now hey where's moses where are your accusers where are the men that literally wanted to rock your world and kill you five seconds ago where's the bloodthirsty mongrels now where are those thine accusers not minimizing what she did as we will see he said where are the people that found you where are they at by the way time out throwing the jake breaks here's what you will find out a lot of times people will come against you and try to destroy your life and when god starts vindicating you they're nowhere to be found they'll put you on the front page you get some vindication they'll put it in the corner of the back page and fair weather friends are just that they are fair weather make sure you surround yourself with people that'll jump out of a foxhole and take a bullet for you in the name of god you surround yourself with people that are willing to fight and willing to stand up and push back against all the evil of this day don't you surround yourself with a bunch of cowards i'm not pastoring a bunch of cowards i'm not going to be a shepherd to just a bunch of cowards i want to be a shepherd to some people that have a backbone about them don't live your life bowing to the culture and bowing to the crowd you live your life bowing to an audience of one and that's jesus christ the righteous the king of kings and lord of lords and these cowards were nowhere to be found verse 11 she said oh this is amazing no man lord and jesus said to her neither do i condemn thee go and sin no more now i know what a lot of people say well you see there what jesus was doing was uh he was justifying the sin of adultery have you read a bible he was not condoning what she did he was condemning what she did while having compassion on the person that did it you see brokenness is the journey that gets you to the destination but brokenness itself is not the destination so when we say global vision bible church is a church where broken people find new meaning to life we don't want to keep you broke we want you to be whole and healed by the power of the gospel by the anointing and the equipping of the word the authority of the holy spirit we don't want brokenness to be your end goal it's just the journey that gets you there and all have sinned and come short of the glory of god we've all got some brokenness we've all got some brokenness we've also got some wasps flying around in the front row praise god but we've all got some brokenness at the end of the day and jesus said neither do i condemn thee he said i'm not going to pick up a rock go and sin no more he was not telling her that you are never going to struggle that you are going to be sinless you see a lot of people teach oh well when you get saved you're going to be sinless oh no you'll just sin a whole lot less because it'll bother you you won't be perfect you'll be different salvation is in an instant sanctification takes a lifetime there's some things that you'll still struggle with or some things you'll still fall down the steps you'll still trip all over yourself there are dwell two people in my breast one is foul and one is blessed there's one i love and one i hate but the one i feed will dominate and you may be born again but you still struggle with your flesh when he said go and sin no more he was saying make sure people know your life's been transformed don't go back to what i redeemed you out of remember wednesday night a couple of weeks ago they went out from us because they were not of us why that it may be manifest that they'd never truly been born again by the grace of god we've stirred some bees up in this in this house today amen we got i see people swatting all over the place whoa but at the end of the day jesus compassionately with conviction he said neither do i condemn you now you get up your life has changed don't go back to that go and send no more you know one of the major criticisms and it's not even political if you believe that one of the major criticisms of our church on a consistent basis and has been even before the whole covid whatever even before trump even before elections even before i got involved and all that before all that you know the biggest criticism almost nearly the biggest criticism we've ever had at global vision for years well they're the church that takes all the people that the other churches don't want you better believe that's the truth you better believe that's the truth they think that's something crazy that's a badge of honor that's the church i want to be known for red and yellow black and white tall and short fat and skinny in church out of turn it don't matter we'll take them all at our church we'll take them all we'll take them all let me share something with you and then we're going to bring it to the landing strip and pray out and have some baptisms did you get him praise god some years ago there was a conference a baptist preachers conference that asked me if i would come it was up near the mcveinville menville manchester area they called the office and they said we want pastor locke to come and we want him to preach the closing message for our pastors conference we got pastors in here you know how it is sometimes those pastor's conferences turn into but a gossip session right the number one question every pastor asks when you go to those meetings they say hey how many y'all running i said oh we're running about ten thousand we're catching about 1200 out of time but we're running people all over the place in town probably we wrote them everywhere and so they always have those weird questions and they always want to get in them gossip things and so i said okay look i'll come and preach but you just need to know who i am and who i'm not you see when i show up at these meetings like tomorrow night in bismi arizona look i'm sorry if you've not watched the videos on facebook and you bring me in to preach and you get offended that's on you not me tough luck you better figure it out before i get there right so i said yeah i'll be glad to come they said well we're going to have popcorn preaching all day right they have these preachers that will jump up and preach at different times and the choir is going to sing and just before the you know from 6 30 to 7 just before we break for you know chicken and food and pie and all that we want you to preach i said okay that'd be great i'll be there so i get there and i took two brand new converts we hadn't really been in that little wedding chapel building but a couple of years when this took place and so it's not that awful long ago and so i took two brand new converts they sat right in the second row we all they sat there and we sang and we listened to preaching and you know we had the little breakout sessions and all that so it came time for the for what they call the main event right i was gonna be the keynote speaker so i got up and i sat down on the platform and it's one of them big old huge throne looking corinthian style chairs and i just kind of sunk my little old self right down up into it i always look bigger on video but i'm really not everywhere i go they're like oh my goodness you look taller on them videos okay well i'm not it's just me little oh me right so i sit in that big old chair and i'm getting ready to preach and i had something on my heart that i was going to share with those men of god and their wives and deacons and elders and people that's about i don't know 350 400 people in this big preacher's meeting they had preaching all day there was no problems no fights broke out nothing no fires no vandalism it was beautiful so i'm sitting up there and the moderator i'd only shake in his hand one time he was not the one that booked the meeting for me to be there and that was quite obvious he had never met me i didn't know him a natural day in my life and so i'm sitting up there and the moderator gets up i've told somebody this before he comes walking up a big old burly guy they would not allow anybody to hold a microphone they wouldn't let you have a lavalier they for sure wouldn't give you one of them britney spears golf brooks things on your face right you had you just had to stand still like you'd been baptized in hairspray you couldn't go anywhere and so they had this big old booming mic and i have a hard time just standing still i can't help myself i wouldn't have a ministry without adhd praise be under god there's no doubt about it it served me well hallelujah i can't help myself right i make coffee nervous and so sure enough sure enough he got up and he adjusted the microphone he walked up and he said now ladies and gentlemen um i don't know a lot about this young man coming to preach he said but uh apparently old lock here and he had this deal in his head he wouldn't even like turn and like address me respectfully he just like did his head like a little half oh oh lock here he's like i don't know a lot about this young man but oh lock here from what i hear he'll just take anybody his church come on preach son and walked off the platform that was it i've been introduced ten thousand different ways and that was the dumbest way i've ever been introduced i promise but that's why i'm telling you about it because i don't take stuff like that lying down i can't help it i'm a natural-born fighter i may not win but i'll beat the living devil out of you to you knock me out i guarantee you that there's no doubt about it i'll go down swinging come up swinging too so i'm sitting over in my throne of a chair holding my bible thinking to myself did that man just say what i think he said you gotta be kidding me it was like slow motion i'm thinking there is no way there is no way this man just said that oh lock here from what i hear who just take eat about his church come on preach son so condescend just walked off so i was conflicted i thought i can either a get up and preach son or b pick up one of these song books and hit that fool in the back of the head before he even gets off the platform in the name of god i was conflicted as which one to do at the moment but i decided that i would contain myself and not hit him with a songbook so i stand up and i start walking to the platform and the lord gently reminds me they've already given you the love offering check what do you got to lose don't ever pay me first it better be written with invisible ink you can mess with me but you start messing with my family and my church and i'm telling you it's on neighbor it's own so i jumped up and i thought whoa even so come lord jesus it's gonna be good i've made my way up i mean they had a big old round wrap around man size pulpit i mean that joke will come up to about right here i'm looking out i adjusted that microphone had my glasses on and i just opened my box i didn't even go to my notes i just opened my bottle right to the middle and i looked at it it was so quiet in that building i mean there was no movement you could heard a nap burp nothing was happening in that room and i mean it it seemed like 10 minutes of silence it was probably like 45 seconds but it seemed so intense it was definitely quiet and so i was like this them two new converse down in the front row they're like what is he doing and so in just a moment of just rich bold clarity i just let the moment build through the silence you know i really did take like communication classes and speech and expository preaching and they taught me something called the power of the dramatic pause that if you get people all worked up into a frenzy and you talk and talk and talk and then all of a sudden you just stop it gets weird like that isn't that weird isn't that crazy and so man i had them right where i wanted them and i finally closed my bible rubbed that love offered check in my front pocket and my whole sermon was simply this and i quote guilty guilty guilty i walked off the platform cash that check and them fools they never invited me back to preaching that church and i wouldn't go back if they did you better believe we'll invite anybody into this house i don't care how addicted you are i don't care what your lifestyle is i don't care what you did last night the gospel can save you the gospel can release you the blood of jesus can cleanse you do you believe in church do you believe it jesus can set you free and i say on the authority of the word of god let god transform you go and sin no more don't go back to that pornography don't go back to that wicked rebellious relationship don't go back to those habits sin no more because god can change your life and some of you today came here with addictions that need to fall like chains to the ground and some of you need to know there's a god in heaven that's not going to treat you the way they treated you he's going to look you in the eye and say i condemn what you did but go and sin no more because i love you and i forgive you and grace never said i told you so and there's something about the ministry of mercy administered by the hands of the lord jesus that changes lives forever you know why you're here today because god had mercy on you don't go back to what god saved you from why would you go back as paul called it to the weak and beggarly elements of this world won't you taste the fruit of righteousness the nectar of nonsense doesn't taste the same anymore you can't go back you're drinking from a new stream a stream of living water i want you to buy your heads for just a moment every head about every i close in a moment my wife will come and she will close us in prayers we do we'll go into our time of baptismal celebrations if you are here today to be baptized we'll talk more about that in a moment after our salvation invitation but if you're here today to follow the lord in believer's baptism and there's no other prayer that you need for somebody to to meet with you and talk with you and pray for you and counsel you then you can begin to make your way over to my left your right miss billy and the crew will be over there and we'll get you all ready and signed up and get your towels and all of that and so if you're here today for that purpose you go ahead and start lining up and we'll prepare the way for that celebration in just a moment but i want to ask you a question all over this room too in fact ((music playing)) but today i'm asking those of you that do know the lord jesus that do know for sure the full and free pardon of sin because of what christ has done for you some of you are here today and you need some deep and desperate prayer because you're just struggling with something that you just for some reason can't shake you know what's wrong and you repent and you ask god to cleanse you and for some measure of a time you do so well but then you fall all over yourself and once again the enemy comes with guilt and shame and a barrage of emotional upheaval and you can't sleep at night and some of you are here today i talked to some of you already before church started in the hospitality tent you're just here because god drew you here because you just need some help you just need somebody to be able to put their arms on you or wrap their arms around you look you in the face and say let me tell you something god can cleanse you god can forgive you god can set you free and some of you need some bondage to fall off of you today and you need to walk out of here with victory in jesus name i'm going to ask some of our folks on our prayer team the ladies and the gentlemen if they would just begin to to be down front towards the platform if you want to come and pray all by yourself between you and god have at it that's a beautiful thing but maybe you need somebody to pray with you today maybe you need somebody to lay hands on you today maybe today there's something in your body that you've been struggling with and you can't quite get to the bottom of it and you just want somebody to lay hands on you and pray in the mighty name of jesus that you'd be released from whatever this is that you're carrying around this burden emotional mental physical bondage some of you have an addiction you're gonna have to lay it down some of you have a temptation that you keep going back to and going back to you know what temptation is not the problem it's when mr temptation and mr opportunity meet that's when the problem occurs and you have to make up your mind a four time that when temptation and opportunity meet that you have already made an unflinching uncompromising choice that you will not yield and you will not give in now i want to talk to others in the tent here in just a moment but i'm going to ask right now sir i'm going to ask right now ma'am some of you need to come and get on your knees at this platform some of you whether you came across the street or across the state or you came from multiple states you've been here once or you just be bopped in for the first time you need to come right now and spend some time with god some of you need to come and let somebody pray with you and pray for you right this moment revival is in the air and i'm asking would you come would you say god help me to go in sin no more lord help this addiction help this problem help this instability in my marriage help this thing that i keep going back to and keep fostering i keep staying with it god help me come on right now all over the room all over the room let somebody pray for you let somebody pray for you come on come on come on nobody has to tell you what you struggle with because you know you're struggling with it you feel it you sense it you know it you know what you came here to get from god not from greg today you know what it is come on folks are still coming we'll wait nothing more important happening in the whole room than what the lord's doing in this tent right now i'm telling you god's doing something on this campus and right now he's moving in hearts some of you need to come and repent somebody come and say god please help me please give me some structure give me some accountability in my life put some men and women around me that can hold my feet to the fire so you need to be faithful in the word of god because if you are not in god's word you are not in god's will no wonder you have no victory your bible sits on a shelf every day come on let people pray with you pray for you you come pray by yourself whatever you need to do but i want to ask this question then my wife will pray ((music playing)) i wonder how many of you are here today and you would be honest about the simple fact that you recognize you don't need church you don't need a facebook preacher you don't just need a rah-rah sermon you need the gospel you need to be saved from your sin you need mark 1 15 to repent and believe the gospel you need to be set free by the power of jesus because he is not a way to heaven he is the one and only true way to heaven and you do not get to the father except you go through jesus that's it that's what god said not what greg said and i wonder how many of you all over this tent today would there be one would there be two would there be thirty would there be somebody that would say sir i need to be saved i'm not asking to just turn over a new leaf i need to be saved from my sin and myself i need to be born again i need to ask god's forgiveness and know for sure the full pardon of sin that comes from his son the lord jesus if that's you sir if that's you ma'am if that's you young person if you're here today and you don't know jesus christ whom to know his life eternal would you let me pray for you i'm not gonna embarrass you i'm not gonna come to you not gonna stick a mic in your face this between you and god not you and me but i wonder right now while these many are praying and folks are still coming if you need jesus today if you believe in all of your heart that you need to be saved born again would you let me pray for you sir would you let me pray for you man would you hold your hand up high somewhere in this building just where you at right now just slip your hand up and say pastor i want you to pray for me i'm not sure i'm saved but i want to be sure god bless you thank you god bless you thank you so much god bless you right here to my life thank you thank you there anybody else god bless you there in the back thank you you can put them down anybody else preacher pray for me i'm not sure i'm saved i know i don't want to go to hell i i want to spend eternity with god but even more than that i want my sins forgiven i want to be transformed by jesus anybody else just slip it up thank you you may put your hands down here's what i want you to do right now where you're seated not because i've got a magic potion not because i got magic words but because i want to help you converse with the god of the universe with the sovereign god of heaven today he wants to save you the bible says that we come unto him when the father sends the spirit to draw us ((music playing)) and some of you have lifted your hand because you're being drawn by the convicting power of the holy spirit and right now sir right now ma'am in your seat i want to help you talk to the lord a prayer didn't die for you but a person named jesus did you could pray it a thousand different ways it's not the words but the bible says you believe in your heart you confess with your mouth that god hath raised him from the dead and thou shalt be saved whosoever shall call upon the name of the lord well they shall be saved and i wonder right now if you'd be willing right where you're seated sir ma'am to simply talk to the lord in this manner just say dear father i know i'm a sinner i know for my sin i deserve hell but i believe jesus died for me i believe he was buried and i trust that he rose again from the dead to take away my sin ((music playing)) and i ask you to forgive me of my rebellion of my sin against a holy god ((music playing)) and the best i know how right now lord jesus i receive you and you alone ((music playing)) as my lord and savior forgive me and cleanse me transform my life make me a new creation and i trust you to take me to heaven when i leave this world heads are about isaac close when i ask you this question quickly how many of you in this room would say pastor whether i raised my hand or not a moment ago i believe that i received that i'm telling you i've repented i believe the gospel i i may have some some questions in my heart i may have some things that i'm still going to struggle with but i believe with all of my heart god drew me here today so that i could know the love and grace and forgiveness of jesus christ and how many of you right now would slip up your hand and say preacher i received that i pray that i believe that right now hold your hand up all over the room god bless you god bless your hands god bless your hands god bless these hands all over rejoice church hallelujah hallelujah let me tell you something you're as saved right now as you ever will be but the bible says one of the first things you do is declare that by obedience and baptism for believers we've got towels we'll get you signed up hooked up and ready to go so maybe today somebody trusted christ you'd say you know what i'm going to strike while they aren't hot not going to wait tomorrow i'm not going to wait till next week next month next year i'm going to do it right now but at some point if you're saved you've got to be baptized you've got to follow the lord that's what the bible says so maybe some of you right now just want to start slipping over as my wife's getting ready to close this out in prayer you slip over to my left you're right you go ahead and stand in that line we'll baptize you today in the name of the lord as a significance that you have followed him publicly today in this place father we come to you today god and we just enter into your gates with thanksgiving and praise lord what a beautiful day that we can come lord and we can just praise you with our whole heart in this place father lord there's no doubt that there are so many people watching and so many people here under the tent right now and they have received every criticism just enough to make them carry enough guilt and enough shame that they're never able to grow into who you have created them to be father i love in your word where it says to grow in grace lord would you allow us to grow in grace and in the knowledge and wisdom of the lord jesus lord would you help us not to be so condemning to those around us that aren't where we are spiritually and lord could we learn to rejoice in the fact that they have even began to have a relationship with you would we trust more on your spirit to teach us god than the need to feel like we have to tell everyone every right and wrong thing that they do in their life father lord we say this so often around here but it seems so true with today's message ((music playing)) we always quote the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through god to the pulling down of strongholds casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of god and taking into captivity every thought unto the obedience of christ lord could we take our thoughts captive lord could we stand on your word that we know that there is therefore now no condemnation to those that are in christ jesus lord can we stand on your word and know that we are chosen your word says that we were chosen in him before the foundation of the world set up high in heavenly places we have been placed in your hand and we cannot be plucked out father no matter the criticism we can know who we are and who we belong to father i think about the woman with the issue of blood what an interesting story that is her whole life she had searched and searched and searched for identity and in one word you told her who she was you called her daughter lord what's more interesting to me in that scripture is that all throughout your word we see where jesus went and he healed and he healed lepers and he would go and he would reach out and he would touch people and he would heal them or he could speak a word and they would be healed ((music playing)) but lord in that story we see a different side of things we see that she sought after you she reached out and touched the hymn of your garment and you said to her your faith has made you whole and all throughout scripture we see where you healed but we see in one moment that she was so desperate that she reached out to you not the opinions of other people she had spent all she had for 12 years and in one moment she reached out to touch the hem of your garment and she was made whole can we hold on to that truth today father that we can spend all we have for years and years and years trying to please everyone around us but until we reach out to you until we reach out and touch the hymn of your garment we will never be made whole may we find our identity in who you say that we are lord and lord we just thank you and we worship you in jesus name amen all right give the lord a hand amen for what he's doing we're going to go into a time of baptismal celebration they'll be on the screens if you want to stand i get it i know we'll have a number of folks to go ahead and stand in the meet and greet line my wife and i will be over there in just a few moments we'll stay as long as we need to as long as necessary to shake your hands and welcome you here i know there'll be a lot of people in the parking lot in and out and so be careful with the kiddos and all of that our security and our
