Morning Prayer | Tuesday 1/6/26 | Gateway Church Live Come on, declare it. Oh, yeah. Worthy of praise and adoration, our firm foundation, our solid rock. Worthy, worthy are you, King Jesus. Yes, Lord. Can we sing, Come on, we sing this today. I will build. Yes, Lord. Yes, Lord. Yes, Lord. Oh, come on, you can do better than that. He's worthy. 6:00 a.m. of all of our praise. Why don't you have a seat for just a moment? We're so glad that you're here. I do want to welcome all of our locations, everyone joining us online. I heard reports from some of our campuses it was standing room only uh some of the prayer rooms. God is on the move, everybody, in a in a beautiful way. And uh and so for those of you, this is your first morning with us, we want to say welcome to day two. And uh I want to give you a little uh context to what we're going to do. So, I'm going to share in just a moment um a quick devotional. The Bible says faith comes by hearing, hearing by the word of God. And so, we want the word of God to stir our faith. So, as we approach prayer today, we're praying in faith, as we talked about this weekend. Um and then we're going to go into 30 minutes of individual prayer time. And so, there's prayer request and cards at every campus. And by the way, if you came in with a need or know someone with a need and you want um to add a prayer card, uh you can do that. There are prayer cards around somewhere. And we'll make sure the team has them. They're telling me they're right by the doors. And uh so, uh make sure and grab one of those and fill one of those out and add, if you would like to. Uh and then at after about 30 minutes, around uh 6:43 or 6:44, we're going to uh the team will come and lead us in one more chorus. And then we'll come together for a corporate topic of prayer. And our corporate topic today is around praying those for those who are far from God. And uh and I want to teach you um I'm going to teach you briefly a quick four-step format on how to pray for people that are lost, that don't know Jesus. And uh I think it'll be super helpful um for you to as you pray for people in your life that are far from God. Um but I want to I want to share with you my my heart is really in prayer is is training. At the end of the day, I want I want you to I want day 13 to still be as good as the 12 days of prayer and fasting. Are you with me? Like I want day 13 and 14, I want this to become a a just a rhythm in the part of your life. And so, I want to teach you a model of prayer today from the Lord's Prayer. And uh and I'll I'll do it quickly and take some notes if you can. Open your phone. Don't get stuck in Instagram. Um So, Matthew chapter 6:6 or 9 through 13 says this. And you know, the disciples were saying, "Lord, teach us how to pray." Not teach us what to pray, but teach us how to pray. And so, he gave them a format for prayer. He says, "Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one, for yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen." Let me give you these really quickly. Number one, we see is as you start in prayer, as you approach God in prayer. And and I'm not talking about times where it's just like you you need to pray about something immediately. I'm talking about when you set aside time to pray. Um first we see that God wants us to connect with him relationally. Our Father, which is in heaven. Um he doesn't start out with our King, which is in heaven, which he could. He doesn't start out with sovereign over the universe, which is in heaven, which he could have. He starts out with God, our Father. So, there's a relational connection with him. Number two, we worship his name. It says, "Hallowed be your name." That's a good point in your prayer time to just stop and go, "I just thank you, God, that you're righteous, and that you're healer, and that you're deliverer, and that you're sustainer, and that you're my strength, and that you're peace in the middle of a storm." And and we just begin to focus on the names of God, the character of God. Number three, we pray his agenda. Says, "Your kingdom come, your will be done." And we're going to get to the request part, but we start with God, we want your will to be done in our life. So, it's your kingdom come, your will be done. Um next is confess our dependence on him. Give us this day our daily bread. God, here's what I need. God, here's the request that I come before you. And I recognize that I'm utterly dependent on you. Uh next is give and receive forgiveness. This is about keeping a a a clean heart. Says, "Forgive us our debts as we forgive those who have sinned against us." And so, God, in the same way that we forgive others, be careful when you pray this. The same way we forgive others, forgive us. So, we better make sure we're forgiving others well, right? Amen. And so, God, would you forgive me? Make sure I have a clean heart. Prayer is not only communion with God, but it's confrontation with the enemy. And so, it says, "Deliver us from evil." There has to be times wherever you spiritual warfare prayer. We'll we'll take a a day on that over these next few days together, but it's not just communion with God. There's has to come a time where you confront the enemy. Deliver us from the evil one. Where you come against the works of the enemy in your prayer. When When you're praying over these requests today, there's there's a lot of warfare prayer that needs to happen over these requests. That we come against the spirit of addiction and we come against the enemy that has locked someone up in that. Are you following me? And so, you need to confront the enemy at the same time. And then, finally, we have confidence in God's ability. It says, "For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen." So, we end our prayer on faith. Are you all with me? We end our prayer going, "No, God, out of everything I've said today, I'm just reminding myself, yours is the kingdom and yours is the power and yours is the glory." And so, every need I have and every worry I have, I'm fixing my eyes on your authority and I'm fixing my eyes on your power in my life. How many of you know that if you end your prayer on that, you just you're going to have a good day? You're going to end on a on a up note going, "God, it's all about you." And that's where we're going to be today. We're going to end on God after we've prayed all we can over these. We recognize yours is the kingdom. You rule and reign over every authority, over every earthly authority, over every spiritual dimension. God, you rule and reign. Yours is the kingdom, the power and the authority. And that's what we're calling on today. Amen, everybody. All right, let's stand together. Let me pray for us. And uh we're going to go into a time of individual prayer. I do want to remind you, come and take some of the prayer cards at the location that you're at and uh and pray over those. This This as I said yesterday, this isn't our quiet time. You can do that later in the day. This is intercession time. Uh I want to remind you, too, to take a posture of prayer that's comfortable for you. Some you want to pay, some you want to stand, sit, kneel, but just don't be distracting to others. All right? Um what what you do in your own prayer closet, get as wild as you want. Today, don't distract everybody else and draw attention to yourself. Amen, everybody. Um and uh and then make sure at the end that you leave the prayer cards. I had a couple people say yesterday wanted to keep praying for these cards. And so, they took pictures of them. I thought that was beautiful idea. Uh and uh they wanted to send them out some people that they knew were prayer people. And uh so, we're just covering these, but make sure you return them cuz every day we're going to be praying over the next after today, seven only seven more mornings, everybody. So, why don't we lift our hands to heaven? Jesus, we love you and we honor you. And we give you thanks and we're here for you. This is not about us. God, we've come to meet with you because we do believe yours is the power and the kingdom and the authority and all strength and you are sovereign over every situation we're covering today. So, Holy Spirit, have your way in our lives and have your way in this place. Meet with us in these moments. We believe you will. And we expect, we fully with confidence as we said yesterday, expect that as we pray according to your will, it will be done in Jesus' name. Everybody said a big amen. Amen. Spirit come. Come, Holy Spirit come. Come, Holy Spirit come. Have your way in Spirit, Holy Holy Refiner. Come and purify. Cleanse me. Renew me till I'm left with one desire. Where your presence is, your power is. And I will lay my crowns down at your feet. You are holy, holy, and I will give my life as an offering. You're worthy, so worthy, and I will lay my crowns down at your feet. You are holy, holy >> We're going to take a few moments for corporate prayer. And I want to ask at every location, just make your way as close as you can. We're just one big family. We're going to come together corporately around the the front of the room or in the aisle, wherever you can get to. Let's come in close. I want to give you four ways to pray for people in your life that are maybe close to you but far from God. I read so many one of the cards that I prayed over um you could tell it was a mother writing it and was praying for her children and her grandchildren to come to faith in Christ. There's a lot of a lot of requests for people in in that they care about that are that are far from God. And so I'm going to give you these to you. If you want to put it in a note on your phone, you can. I'm going to give it to you quickly. So you won't have time to to write the whole thing. Just get the reference down, all right? Um Number one is this. We're going to pray that God would bind the spirit that blinds their mind. So 2 Corinthians 4:4 says this, "The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God." And so there's a blind that the enemy has put and some of you you have people in your life far from God and and you know that. It's like they just can't see it. And so we're going to pray that God would bind the spirit that is blinding their minds. Number two, we're going to pray that God would loose the spirit of adoption. Romans 8:15 says this, "For you did not receive a spirit that makes you slave again to fear, but you received the spirit of sonship." And by him we cry Abba Father. That there would just be a a spirit of adoption that would just flood through the people that are far from God in our lives. Um we're going to pray for believers um that will cross their paths with positive interactions. You hear me? Positive interactions. Not rude believers. I don't know how you can be that. Matthew 9:38, "Ask the Lord of the harvest therefore to send out workers into his harvest." So we're going to we're going to pray today for that child that's, you know, going back to their dorm room that God would put a fired up believer in that dorm room that that child can't get away from cuz there is a praying mama that is asking God to intersect their life. Are you following me? It may not be you who leads them to Christ, but it may be someone in two states away. And we're just going to ask God to put believers just everywhere they go. Let the barista be a believer. Let the oil change person be a believer. Let Let the new boss be a believer. They just graduate, you know. And then we're going to pray that God would loose the spirit of wisdom and revelation so they can know God. Ephesians 1:17, Paul is praying for the church and he says this, "I keep asking the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the spirit of wisdom and revelation so that you may know him better." All right? And so at every location, let's lift up our voices together. I'll lead us, but we haven't come to listen to me pray. We've come to all pray, okay? So let's pray for those things together. First, we're going to pray that God would bind the spirit that blinds their minds. So let's just lift that up right now. Father, we come before you in the mighty name of Jesus. And God, we're praying for those who are in our lives and in the lives of those in our church family that are that are far from God, that they don't know you. They haven't come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ yet. And Lord, your word tells us that the enemy has blinded their minds. And so can we come against the spirit that is blinding their minds right now in the mighty name of Jesus. God, we're asking for a veil, for that blind or for that that inability to see the love of God and the goodness of Jesus and and the depravity of our sin. Lord, we're praying for that to be released and loosed in the name of Jesus. God, we come against every work of the enemy, every hold that the enemy has on those who are far from God. We pray right now that it be released in Jesus' name. We come in agreement with your word that says whatever is loosed in earth will be loosed in heaven, whatever is bound will be bound on earth. So God, we ask that right now according to your word that you would that you would call the blinders to come off. I pray right now, God, that phone calls would happen, that that people would reach out. They go, "I know you're you're Christian. There's just something stirring in my heart." I pray that children would call their parents. Lord, I pray that that friends and uncles and aunts would begin to reach out and go, "Can Can I come to church with you Sunday? I don't know. I'm just there's something stirring in me." God, let the blinders come off in the name of Jesus. We pray for a release of a spirit of adoption. Lord, that they would know they're coming into the family of God. Lord, you you tell us we're all created in the image of God, but unto those who have believed, they have become children of God. Lord, we want everyone in our lives to become children of God. So let a spirit of sonship an embrace of being a daughter of God. Lord, that there be a a release of a spirit of adoption. They would know they're coming in that they don't have to clean it all up, figure it all out, get it all together, but you would you receive them like like the prodigal son, like the father. You have arms open wide, ready to receive them right now. Lord, we pray for those for you to put people in their path that are believers that would give them a positive experience. That they would see Jesus in the lives of others. Lord, that the fruit of the spirit would be so evident in their lives that that they would God end up working in a place where someone beside him is a Christian. And God, that that places they go, friend groups they get into, an apartment complex they move into, a neighborhood they move into. Lord, a dorm room they find a home room. God, would there just be a believer that is shining bright the light of Jesus and it would God put an appetite in their heart for the things of God and it would draw them closer to you, Lord. Lord, we want to see God. It is the will of God that none would perish, but that all would come to repentance. And so Lord, would you do that? We're asking you. And God, we pray that you would give those far from you a spirit of wisdom and revelation that they might see you. God, that they might know you. That God, whatever their experience is before, maybe it's been negative. Maybe they've been injured and God, maybe they've had bad experiences with the church. I pray God they'd see Jesus above it all. God, I pray they'd get a glimpse of your glory and a glimpse of your goodness and a glimpse of your love and of your grace and of your forgiveness and of your mercy. God, I pray that there would just be this this eye-opening light bulb moments come on in their hearts even right now as we pray. I pray that as they wake up today, there would be this some kind of unusual desire for the things of God in their heart. We believe that you can do it in the supernatural. Lord, I pray for our church today. God, give us a burden for the lost. God, may our hearts break for the lost. Give us a God consciousness. May we not be able to go throughout our day without wondering, does that person know God and does that person know Jesus? Lord, I pray that there would be a burden and I pray this year would be the greatest harvest of souls that we've ever seen in the history of our church for the glory of God. I declare prodigals are coming home. I declare fathers are coming back to their homes. I declare that aunts and uncles and friends and cousins and relatives that may not even live in the places we have campuses are returning to Christ in droves. We're believing for a great harvest. We believe it honors you. And so God, go with us today. May we shine the light of May we be the positive Christian experience in someone's life today. And may as a result they come to faith in you. May we plant seeds everywhere we go. Someone will plant, someone water, but it is Lord, it's you that gives the harvest. And so unto you be the glory, for thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. And the church said, "Amen." Amen. Amen. Come on, clap your hands if you believe it. Day two, everybody. All All I've been doing this a very long time. Day three is the hardest. You're going to want to stay in bed tomorrow. If you've been fasting, day three is the worst. I don't speak that over you. I'm just saying that's my experience. And uh but I'm telling you if you will discipline your flesh, your spirit will come alive in new ways. And uh that's what we're doing. We are drawing close to God and and disciplining our appetites so that we get hungry more hungry for the things of God. So, um just so you know, uh this is growing. Day two is growing. And so bring somebody with you tomorrow. Let's just see this movement continue to grow in our church, right? I believe as we turn up the spiritual temperature in prayer, we will reap the fruit of it all year long. I text a pastor friend of mine in Phoenix and he said he watched yesterday and I just said just remember this, you win in the spirit before you ever win in the natural. And so let's make sure we start the year winning in the spirit. And then we'll see God do some amazing things in the natural, all right? Love you dearly. See you tomorrow morning. Have a wonderful day. It is 6:54. I'm getting you out on time every day, all right? I trust in the God who knows what's best in loss or in gain. I know that I trust in the God who knows I trust in the God who knows what's best I trust in the God who knows what's best in loss or in gain. I know that I trust in the I trust in the I trust in I trust in I trust
