Whats Feeding You | Pastor Travis Greene | Forward City Church Hey family, I pray you are having a blessed day. Listen, it is my high honor that you chose to hang out with me uh for a few moments. I got a message today that I believe is going to help transform your life. It's simply called What's Feeding You. I came from Matthew 5:6 where the Lord said, "Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled." You got to pay attention to what's feeding you because whatever feeds you will fill you and whatever fills you, you'll feed the others. This is a a dynamic word from God. So, make sure you lock in. Pay attention. And I pray that it's a blessing to you. Share it with someone as well. All right. I'll see you what's feeding you. Come on, ask him what's feeding you. Ask him what's feeding you. What's feeding you? What's feeding you? You can take your seats. What's feeding you? Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be >> filled. This text, ladies and gentlemen, is full of revelation and truth. You got to understand what's happening here. This is Jesus's first public sermon. The Bible says he comes to this mount and he starts teaching. And because it's his first sermon, everything that he says is very intentional and strategic. He knows exactly what he's saying. And to to really get the full weight of the text, you got to understand the context, who he's speaking to, where he's speaking, and when he's speaking. He's speaking to two groups. The Bible says he calls the disciples to him, the disciples, the committed, and there's a crowd that's gathering, the crowd, the curious, and they're all there and they're listening to these words he say. You got to understand the group of people that he's speaking to. He's speaking to these people talking about hunger and thirst. These people would know a thing about being hungry and thirsty. >> Matter of fact, the few of the disciples themselves were fishermen. Their occupation was feeding others. But the crowd the crowd was was being beat down by Roman authorities. They were in a very tough time as Jews. They were being marginalized and ostracized. And they too understood that when he talked about hunger and thirst, he wasn't talking about an American luxury. He was talking about something that was not guaranteed. >> You know, in America, when we're hungry, you know, we we got options. >> You know, we got government cheese. They ain't got that in certain parts of the world. We got options. Come on. Baloney, spam, you know what to do when you get hungry. Peanut butter and jelly with no jelly. Come on. Come on. But there's certain parts of the world, ladies and gentlemen, where hunger is a real thing. I found this out firsthand. I went over to one part of Africa and I remember I don't know if I thought I was like at Alpa Bees or something. They brought me my food and I was like, "Ah, this ain't really what I wanted." And I tried to send it back and they looked at me like I was crazy. Hey, bro. We don't take food back here. What are you doing? like this is a this is a one time only. This was one chicken that was killed for you. You going to eat it right now. And uh so when he's talking to these people, they understand that when he's talking about hunger and thirst, listen, he's talking about desperation. Here's a key word. He's talking about necessity. >> Necessity. Necessity. He says, "Hey, if you're going to crave anything, make sure that what you're craving, what you're hungry and thirsty for is righteousness." righteousness, not as a supplement, ladies and gentlemen, as a means of survival. Righteousness. Righteousness. He makes very clear here. He says that something will feed you. Whatever feeds you will fill you. Write that down. Whatever feeds you will fill you. And so the question is, what's feeding you today? >> Crave righteousness. Crave righteousness. This is Jesus talking. You might want to pay attention. This is in red. And you know, you can't just read the Bible. >> You got to read the Bible. You got to really dig into it, man. He says, "Crave righteousness more than money, more than fame, more than accolades, more than IG followers, more the positions, titles. Crave more than promotions. Crave righteousness." Well, you may ask, "What is righteousness?" Here's the simplest definition I can give you for righteousness. Wanting to be right with God. A desire to be right with God. That I want God's way. I want his wills. I want God's preference. Here we go. I want his dreams above mine. I want God's desires above my own desires. And this is why you have conviction. Conviction is the proof that your heart actually desires righteousness. Conviction is your friend. Conviction is a good thing. Conviction means that God is after you. But what we have a bad habit of doing sometime is suppressing conviction. >> And the only way to really properly suppressed conviction is to convince yourself of one of two things. Either God is not real or that God does not care about sin. >> This is why we're in an age, you got to be careful about all of these blogs and all these different things that you're watching on TikTok because we're in a day in an age where the enemy is very strategic and trying to allow people to justify sin, rewrite scripture in order to fit sin. Listen, I don't bring the Bible down to fit my lifestyle. I bring my lifestyle up to fit the word of God. I submit. I surrender my lifestyle. God's word is unchanging. Can we talk? His word is unchanging. He's not going to change his word to customize your lifestyle and your preference. You got to lay down your flesh, your wants, your addictions, your habits on the altar and surrender and say, "God, I want what you want for me, even if my flesh really want what it wants really bad. The devil will try to he's it's he's after the Bible talks about this in the New Testament saying in the last days people have itching ears that we'll go out and seek ideals. We'll go out and seek philosophies. We'll go out and seek information as if it's revelation to try to convince us so we can suppress our conviction because the Lord has been speaking to you. That's why you're comfortably uncomfortable. That's why there is something that arrest you as soon as you get done with the act. You don't hear nothing while you're doing it. You feel real good. But as soon as you get done, something on the inside of you start raising up and say, "No, daughter. No, son. You're better than that." And God is not pleased with that. It's called conviction. Conviction is your friend. It is an invitation by the Holy Spirit to call you up higher to a higher lifestyle so that you can start walking in authority and empower. Ladies and gentlemen, the devil knows what he's doing >> and he's trying to rewrite something that's already been written. >> When I got my masters in theology, I did a deep dive. I did this big paper on the subject of gay theology. I want you to hear me. Gay theology. It has two fundamental truths that you're going to find in gay theology. And that is one of two things. You're going to hear that the Bible is error. That is not the whole truth. >> Or you will hear that hell is not real. >> This is strategic to try to suppress conviction for people. And I want you to hear me. God loves He hates sin, but he loves a sinner. How do you know this, Travis? For God so loved the world, that's us, that he gave his only begotten son. God is not mad at you. He's madly in love with you. God will not close you out and shut you out. I did this whole article and I had to do I had to do research and I interviewed several people who identify themselves as homosexual Christians, gay Christians. And many of them even on the calls when I was doing these interviews with them, they started breaking down crying saying, "My family won't even let me come to Thanksgiving dinner." They shut me out. You serve a God who will never shut you out. His arms and his heart is wide open. But God is not obligated to squeeze himself into your preference. He opens his arms and invites you into his way, into his truth, because his way and his truth is better as far as the heavens and are from the earth. So are the ways of God from the ways of men. God is inviting you to a higher calling >> and it's a demonic agenda. Please hear my heart. To get you to suppress a conviction that God has given you. >> My God, conviction is a gift. What you don't want is not to feel nothing. >> I was talking to a relative >> and he's been in sin and he told me, he said, "The truth is, man, I don't even feel nothing." I said, "Whoa, whoa, let's re let's back up." >> I said, "This a whole another conversation. If you don't feel nothing, that mean he left you." >> He said, "Well, well, I ain't saying I don't feel nothing." Bro, we got a whole this a whole another rescue mission. If you don't feel no conviction because if the Holy Spirit is present, you will be convicted. Do you hear what I'm telling you? If he is present in your life, you will be convicted. And sometimes I I'm so glad that even when you don't have the Holy Spirit alive in you, the prayers of the righteous development. There is a mama, there's a uncle, there's a dad, there's somebody praying on your behalf. And maybe you feel convicted, not even because you pray, but because prayers are covering you. Is there anybody in this room that's glad that you've been covered in the prayers of somebody who's been calling your name when you've been calling the wrong names? Who've been calling and laying on their face saying, "God, save my baby. Save my child. Save my nephew. Save my student. Save my niece." Somebody had been praying for you. And this is conviction. God is after you. God is after you. The devil is after you, but God is after you, too. And God God says, "They who are called by my name, I'll find them. I'll cover them. I'll keep them. Even if you don't want to get kept, I need 20 people in this room that's glad you're covered by God. Even when you're trying to get from under his cover, he says, "I'll fight you. I'll leave the 99 to bind you. I'll rescue you. And I'll make sure even when you're in sin, that no weapon formed against you will prosper. For if God before you, he's more than the world against you. I need 20 people who ain't too ashamed to jump on your feet and give him a praise for covering you, for keeping you. Grace and mercy, grace and mercy. Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days and months. I should be dead. I deserve hell and the grave. I deserve to be in prison. I deserve to be in a mental war. But grace kept me. Mercy felt me. Is there anybody in this room that's grateful you serve a God that keeps you covered? You're covered. You're covered. You're covered. Touch three people and tell them you're covered. You're covered. You're covered. You're covered. You're covered. You're covered. You're covered. You're covered. You're covered. You're covered. You're covered. You're covered. That's why you can't get comfortable in sin. That's why you can't get comfortable in sin. That's why you can't get comfortable in sin. Cuz you're covered. You're covered. You're covered. That's why every now and then God will wake you up and tell you you're better than that. There's more on the inside of you cuz you're covered. You're covered. You're covered. That's why you tried to smoke it and couldn't get high. Cuz you're covered. You're covered. You're covered. Grace, mercy. Grace, mercy. God's hand on you. And you're covered. You're covered. You're covered. You're covered. You're covered. That's why the devil hates you so much. ((music playing)) He came and presented himself to God. And God said, "What you been doing?" He said, "I've been roaming the earth." >> And God said, "Have you considered my servant Job?" >> The devil said, "Of course I've considered him. I've been trying to get to Travis. I've been trying to get to Jackie. I've been trying to get to Mama S." But you got a hedge all around him. Job going about his business not even knowing he's covered. You thought you've been through everything the devil tried have planned for your life. No. If the devil had his way, you would have been there by now. But God has had a heads covering you. It's been covering your mind. It's been covering your heart. It's been covering your vehicle in the club covered in the room, bedroom covered. You've been covered by the blood of Jesus. And if I was you, I'll take 10 seconds and say, "Thank you. ((applause)) Thank you for covering me. Thank you for keeping me. Thank you for protecting me. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you for your hand while I was dead in sin. Grace covered me. Grace has had you covered me. And the proof the proof that you're covered, hear me, is the conviction you feel. You should start thanking God when you get convicted. >> Joe, conviction is the proof of covering. >> He don't convict you just so you can feel guilty. >> He convicts you to remind you that he's close. >> And it provokes godly sorrow. And you say, "God, my mama may not know what I did, but you do. >> And God, I want to be right with you. >> I'm hungry and I'm thirsty for righteousness." And God said, "Then you will be filled." >> I don't bring the Bible down to fit my life. I bring my life up to fit the word of God >> because to love God is to love his word. That's why the Bible says in John 1:1, "In the beginning was the word. The word was with God. The word was God." God and his word are inseparable. >> Man, conviction. Conviction. Conviction. You don't suppress conviction, ladies and gentlemen. You suppress sin. >> God told Cain, you remember this in Genesis 4. He says, "If you do, put it up for me." He says, "If you do what is right, will you not be accepted?" If you do what's right, I'm always going to accept you. He says, "But if you do not do what is right," Watch the Bible. Watch the Bible. Sin is crouching at the door. I don't want you to just read it. I want you to see it. Sin is crouching. The Bible says he goes about like a roaring lion, >> seeking whom he may devour. crouching at your door hoping that you'll open it up. >> He's crouching at the door. It desires, watch the Bible, to have you. >> The devil is not in the business of just having a good time with you. >> He wants to have you. >> But you must, good God, rule over it. God says sin is going to show up. >> Please hear me. It's going to show up. I don't care if your mother Teresa or TD James, >> Joel Ostein, I don't care who you are. Sin is going to show up. >> Temptation is going to show up. >> It's going to crouch at your door waiting for you. >> The Lord says you must rule over it. >> You gota you got to remember this is the same God who gave Cain's parents Adam and Eve his blessing and said you must have dominion >> and rule over >> this earth. So the same God who gave you dominion over the earth around you gave you dominion over sin. >> Hear me. He says the onus is on you. It's your responsibility to rule over it. It's going to show up but you got to rule over it. not act like you don't have power. >> But he did so cute though. He opened a door for me. He had a little smell good tree hanging in his car. Oh child, when I smelt the tree, I was good till I smelt the tree. What is wrong with you? Rule over that mess. Don't play with it. Don't pet it. Rule over it. Rule over it. Tell it no. Tell it to sit down. Sin must be submitted. My God. It must be ruled over, not pacified. You come and just feeding it kibbles and bits every day. How you doing, sin? You know how you pacify it? When you text back at 11:00 p.m., you're pacifying the sin that is crouching at your door, that is trying to take your life, your destiny, and your future. The Bible says in James 1:14, please write this down. Each person is tempted, watch this, when they are dragged away. >> Come on, don't look at me in that tone of voice. Have you ever felt dragged away before? >> You was doing good. celibate for 31 days and then you just felt like you just got watch this watch this watch this tempted when they are dragged away by their own uhoh their own evil desires and enticed watch the Bible then after desire has conceived. >> So your desire got to get pregnant first. Oh yeah. >> Then it gives birth to sin. >> This is powerful. And sin when it is full grown >> gives birth to death. Please hear the words ladies and gentlemen. Keep it up just for a second. I need them to just you just every now and then glance at that. Keep it up for like 30 seconds. >> Sin don't start out grown. >> Desire gets pregnant. gives birth to sin >> and then sin has to get full grown which means something has to feed it. What's feeding you? >> See, at first it's cute cuz he's four years old. He just went outside to play. Oh, he just smell like he cute. And then have you ever had a child that was cute at four and then turned 13 and you like where did that odor come from? They better come in just kick those shoes off. Now you're like, "Get those take them shoes to the garage." You just stink. Full grown. Musty. Full grown. Full grown. Full grown. Full grown. See, it's cute when you five. You in kindergarten. I didn't come over. I'mma feed you and clean you up. Oh, this my little baby. It ain't cute when you're 35 and you ain't got no job. You full grown and you still sitting at the same table. Come here. Come here. Eating my groceries, playing Call of Duty all day. That ain't cute. And the problem is that's what we do with sin. It start off as cute. It's just a text. It's just a DM. It's just a night over and then it get fully grown and you can't kick it out because it's too strong for you to do in your own strength. And now the sin that's fully grown says this is my house. I have dominion here. You allow me to move in and I ain't going nowhere. Lust says I ain't going nowhere. Pornography says I ain't going nowhere. Alcoholism say I ain't going nowhere because you've entertained it for so long. The devil will tempt you with your own. He know what you want. >> There is a devil, hear me, hear me, that's been studying you your whole life. >> He know your tendencies. >> He know your first kiss. >> He know your type. >> Come on, lean in, homie. Lean in. Lean in. Lean in. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. He know your tight and he going to let her walk right right out. You in the mall. You was doing good minding your business. Had you a pretzel just chilling out and that she walked right the devil know what you like? >> Hear me. Hear me. The desire itself is not sin. >> It's important cuz some of y'all be beating yourself up for desires. You're human. >> Tell the flesh to shut up. Sit down. >> Yeah, I saw that. But I ain't got to look again. >> Back in the day when my wife and I first got together, she knew, you know, the Lord was working on me and she'll give me the first look. We'll be walking amusement park. Somebody walk by and she'll make a joke about it just to lighten it up. She'll be like, she'll be like, "What she got on?" I like, man, I don't know, man. That's crazy. That's crazy. That's crazy, dog. Why would she wear that? Doesn't she know that she's a daughter of the most high God? Why would she God cover her? Cover her. Cover her. She always gave me a pass for the first look, but you can't look twice. That second look, what you now, now you're doing too much. You can't look twice. The desire, hear me, >> is not sin, >> but it has the ability >> to get impregnated with sin. >> So sin comes to pass when desire conceives. >> Well, then the question is, Travis, how does my desire get pregnant? >> When the desire is entertained. Sin grows when you feed your desire. >> Come on. Come on. Stop feeding evil desires. >> Hear me. Stop feeding evil desires. It's not as difficult as we make it. >> That's it. >> If porn is an evil desire, hear me, don't watch any rated R movies >> or TV shows that have a set scene. I am 41 years old till today. If me and my wife watching a movie and they start tustling too much in the room, I fast for it today. >> I'm like, I they got a lot going on. I am not. This is a great plot, but I do not need to see Megan good be bad. She's not being good right now. I am. Don't feed the desire. >> If lust is a desire, why you follow models on Instagram? >> Oh yeah. Oh yeah. It's tight. It's tight. Come on. Come on. >> If cheating is an evil desire, why do you have direct contact with the temptation? ((applause)) >> Well, they just need me for prayer. They No, you think you're that prayer partner. They Come on. >> If sex before marriage is a desire, come on. Come on. I'm talking about stuff you really want. >> Why are you going to Cancun together? >> I'm not judging you. I'm trying to help you. It's my job to help you. >> I saw this thing on TikTok. This girl, they left her at the airport. The dude, y'all saw that? The dude was like, "You ain't giving me none. you a you staying here at the airport and she like you tripping you tripping and I'm looking like baby girl what did you think >> you thought he flew your tail all the way to Cabo to play uno ((applause)) >> we going to take some pictures no ma'am no that is an investment for >> a return >> quit being stupid Come on, look at somebody. Tell them quit being stupid. >> Hear me. Hear me. Hear me. You're feeding desires and to you is cute. >> But you don't know how many funerals I've been to >> with people who thought their lifestyle was cute, >> who are dead in their 20s from HIV. Multiple. >> Multiple. multiple. They thought they thought it was cute when they were out here doing this and and doing that because the sin it starts off in infatile stage. It starts off as a baby and then it's a toddler and then you just keep feeding it because it's cute to you and you just keep feeding it because you think you don't have control and God says you do. I have given you power. I have given you dominion. I have given you my Holy Ghost to rule over the sin because whatever you consume can eventually consume you. >> I know this is very direct, but I'm preaching from my heart because the devil is trying to kill you, man. >> He not playing around. He's not playing around. It seems cute right now until it's too grown for you to kick out. And this reminds me of one of the most tragic stories in the Bible. And this story is a man named Samson. Perhaps the strongest man on the outside but the weakest on the inside. >> This man Samson, he had a lot of problems, man. He got a lot of things wrong. And you know, his problems actually live, they were long before Delilah. I know in Sunday school they tell us about Delila and she tricked him and cut his hair. He had many more problems before Delila. As a matter of fact, when I reread the story this week, what made me really, really, really upset was that there were three times before his hair got cut >> that she said, "Tell me your secret." He lied. She used the secret against him to try to capture him. He defeat the enemy and lay back down in her lap. How stupid. >> But they taught me in Sunday school, Delila was the problem. Delila weren't the problem. Samson was a problem. >> I'm going to read this passage for you that that messed me up. It's fountain of Judges 14. They're going to put it up. And please pay attention cuz you can't just read the Bible. >> You got to read the Bible. The Bible says, "The spirit of the Lord came powerfully." Man, we experience how to engage culture. >> Powerful moves of God. Spirit of the Lord came powerfully upon him so that he tore the lion apart with his bare hands. This dude was a no limit soldier. I can't even I won't even play with a pitbull. This dude is ripping apart lions. Bare hands as he might have torn a young goat. But he told neither his father nor his mother what he had done. My God. Then he went down and talked with the woman and he liked her. This happened to be a Philistine woman who his parents told him to stay away from. Before this is before Delilah. Sometime later he went back to marry her. He turned aside to look at the lion's carcass, and in it he saw a swarm of bees and some honey. The bees was the warning. He scooped out the honey with his hands and ate as he went along. When he rejoined his parents, he gave them some and they ate it as well. This is crazy to me. He did not tell them that he took it from the lion, the honey from the lion. Watch what happens next. Verse 10. All right, is that it? That's my last verse. Okay, sorry y'all don't have verse 10. All right, whatever. He go take the honey from a lion, feed his parents. This same man was strong enough to kill a lion, but not strong enough to kill his own desires. >> When Samson was born, ladies and gentlemen, his God gave a visitation, a prophetic word to his barren mother. And out of all the regulations he can give her, he gave her this one stipulation. And he said, "Hey, make sure you watch what you eat. Dietary restrictions." Ain't that crazy? >> He said, "Mon monitor what's feeding you." >> Samson goes along and he lives recklessly as a young man. This dude was reckless, y'all. He marries this Philistine woman against his parents' will. He goes, the Bible says he he get 300 foxes. He set their tails on fire and burns up the Philistine crops. He he gets with a prostitute. The Bible says his first wife, his father-in-law get burned alive cuz he get in a gambling debt and then beat kill 300 dudes to pay for the G. The dude was just wow. So much strength, so much anointing, so gifted and yet no selfcontrol. You know that's the devil's favorite targets. >> He loves to find the leader of the family. >> Yes, he does. >> He loves to find the leader of the dormatory. He loves to find the anointed one on the job. He loves to find the one with the so many gifts but no self-control. >> And if he can't defeat you, then he'll use your appetite against you. >> He knows what you like. Ain't this funny? The Bible said the spirit of the Lord came on Samson powerfully. My God. Ain't that amazing that God gave Samson the power to defeat a lion? I think he's the only other man in scripture other than David that defeated a lion. >> God gave him the power to defeat a lion. And yet the devil enticed him with something sweet. He was tempted, my God, by something that God already empowered him to kill. >> And the Lord told me to pull up the two nuts today and tell you this. Beware of sweet things in dead places. >> She's so sweet though, dog. You don't understand. She's sweet. Beware of sweet things in dead places, dead seasons that you return to. >> My God, dead relationships that God gave you the power to kill. You finally walked out of it. >> It was toxic. It was abusive. And God gave you the power to walk out. And then you went back because there was something sweet that you missed. And God is so gracious that he allowed some bees to give you a warning. >> And you called them haters. >> Wow. >> And you say, "Your parents just don't understand." >> And God said, "Well, go ahead." And here you go getting another scoop. Not knowing with every scoop you're losing strength. >> Just going I just just one more. Just one more hit. Just one more. Just one more high. Just one more. Just one more night out. Just one more. I'm going back to a dead place trying to find something sweet because the enemy knows exactly what to entice you with. Your own desire, your own appetite. He's been studying you, taking inventory. He knows what you like. He knows your type. He knows what gets you excited. Don't my God. Please, please, please, please, please don't misplace excitement for God's approval. >> Just because something gets you excited does not mean that it's God. And I've had so many people tell me, "Well, I just got a feeling." The devil could give you feelings, too. >> He knows what you like, and he will promote and advertise something sweet, even if it's in dead places. Here is the tragedy in the story. I hope you didn't miss it. And out of all the years that I preached, Samson, out of all the years I've been preaching for over 20 years, out of all the years that I preached and studied this word, never before did I pay attention to this. The Bible says that he didn't just take honey for himself, but he gave it to his family. >> Imagine. Imagine the innocence of his parents >> when their son, someone they love, someone they trust, bring them something that appears to be sweet, and they don't know that it came from a dead place. >> Here's why this is important, ladies and gentlemen. Because the devil is not satisfied just tempting you. >> He wants to raise you up to be a temptor. >> He knows that whatever feeds you will fill you. And whatever fills you, you'll feed to others. >> I want you to sit in that because it's not just your fun. what you do tell people around you that it's okay >> your choices. Come on, single mother. You letting that guy talk to you in any kind of way that's teaching your daughter that that's acceptable. >> It's teaching your son that that's how you treat a woman. >> See, you think just because you go in your room and take the call that it's just between you and those four walls, not knowing that there are children on the outside that can hear your booty call. And now you're teaching them that it's okay to be older and play games with God. You don't understand that the devil wants you to get filled with something so much as you start feeding it to other people. >> To you, you're just sneaking out of your dorm. It's just a night out. But you don't know that you are a leader in that dorm. And everybody's watching your actions. And because you say it's okay, now it's okay. Because you say it's okay to live recklessly, now it's okay for me. Your siblings are watching you. Your nieces, your nephews are watching you. And your lifestyle gives permission to other people what they can and cannot eat. They don't know that you got it from a dead place. >> I'm not saying this for you to feel guilty. I'm saying this for you to understand that the enemy is not just after you. He's after those who are around you. >> The Bible says when Mary got pregnant, the king put a hit out on all the baby boys. I want you to hear me. >> The hit wasn't on Mary. >> I know you Catholic, Hail Mary. The hit wasn't on Mary. >> The hit was on what she was carrying. >> The attack on your life is not just about you. >> It's about who you're carrying. This is why, ladies and gentlemen, the conviction is so strong because you're carrying everybody with your last name. >> You're carrying those on your job. You're you're carrying another generation and they're watching your discipline. They're watching your prayer life. They're watching your commitment because whatever feeds you will fill you. And whatever fill you, you will feed to others. I never give a message without giving hope. Here's the hope. The Bible says in John chapter 7 verse 37, Jesus stands on the last and greatest day of the festival and he said in a loud voice, "Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as scripture has said, watch the Bible, rivers, this is a this is a continual flow. And he says, rivers of living water will flow from within them. He wants to create something in you that's going to cause a continual flow. By this, he meant the spirit whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time, the spirit had not yet been given since Jesus had not yet been glorified. He stands on the last and greatest day of the festival and in a loud voice, "Your Jesus shouts." The same Jesus who said, "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they'll be filled." He stands months later and he shouts, "Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. And if you come to me, out of your belly will flow rivers of living water." I love this concept cuz he's saying, "I'll fill you up with so much that you'll overflow." The beauty in anything overflowing is that you can't add to it. Remember one time I remember one time my uh one of my kids left the bath water running. He got out the tub and dried himself off and just left the bath water running. And next thing you know, it was on the top floor. We on the next floor and water started coming through the the ceiling. I said, "My god, it's raining in the house." I ran upstairs. I turned it off and the water was overflowing from the tub. It was overflowing. It's overflowing. So, it's overflowing. Even if I poured something in it, it would just push it out. God says, "I want to fill you up so much that when the tempter come, the overflow of my Holy Ghost >> will push it out. The desire may not leave and it may show back up. The temptation will show back up, but the Holy Ghost pushed it back out." There were things that I was stuck in, ladies and gentlemen, in my 20s. sin, lust, but I've been so full of him and I I don't just get filled one time. I keep coming back and say, "Fill me up again, God. Fill me up because I'm a man like everybody else. Fill me up because the devil knows what I like and I don't want to lose what I love. Fill me up, God. Fill me up till I overflow." So when the temptation shows up, it doesn't have a place to reside. >> Maybe there's vacancy in you because you haven't been filled with his Holy Spirit. That's the invitation today. As we all stand, there's 10 minutes left in this service. And before we leave, if that's you and you're in this room, I don't want anyone to leave. I want you, this may be perhaps the most important part of the service where you have an opportunity to engage heaven and allow the Holy Spirit to fill you. >> He spoke to you today. The conviction you feel is real. The grace on your life is real. Hey, the calling on your life is real. And there is a real devil that has a real plan, but I announce over you that it would not prosper because God wants to fill you till you overflow. >> And if that's you and then you know the enemy has been tempting you and maybe you've been slipping into the temptation of the enemy and you say, you know what, God, I need to be filled to overflow. If that's you, I want you to meet me at this altar very quickly. Come on, run. >> Thank you so much for listening to this message. It is my prayer that it was a blessing to you. Listen, the enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy. He's trying to tempt you so that perhaps you can too become the tempter. And I don't want that to happen with you or for you. So, make sure you receive Jesus as your Lord and your Savior. Very simple. I want you to pray this prayer with me. Lord Jesus, forgive me of my sins. Come into my heart. Change me from the inside out. I believe you died for my sins and I believe you got up so I don't have to stay down today. You are my Lord. You are my savior in Jesus name. Amen. If you prayed that prayer, there's information below. Please click it. Uh get plugged in to a local church. Uh please start reading your word so that you can fall more in love with Jesus.
