Change Church Miracle Week | Pastor Shameka Daniels Well, if you know there is absolutely unequivocally nobody like Jesus, I want you to drop some fire in the chat for the last day of Miracle Week 2025. Come on. You know there is nobody like him. Searched all over, [laughter] couldn't find anybody. Man, I want to welcome you to day five. It's not the last day, but day five of Miracle Week 2025. Man, we're so incredibly grateful and excited to be here. And listen, I want to see who's finishing strong. So, I'm looking at the chat right now. Let me know where you're tapping in from. I want to know if you're from New Jersey, if you're from Montana, if you're from um Georgia, Florida. I want to know where you're tapping in from. Uh because I want to see who is finishing strong. You know, I believe that one of the words that the Bible uses that kind of speaks to uh the idea of consistency is the word faithfulness. And uh faithfulness, faithfulness requires consistency. And I the Bible is very very clear. Um he was faithful in little is faithful in much. I see South Africa. I see Buford, Georgia. I see New York. I see Orlando, Florida. I see Chicago. Mississippi. I see Nola in the building. Gwynette, Las Vegas, Virginia. Fort Wayne, Indiana. Cleveland, Ohio. Wait a minute. Lafayette, Louisiana. Come on. Don't play with me now. Don't play with me. Listen, people get upset when I say this. It's just my opinion. I don't know why people get upset when you share your own opinion. But to me, but to me, don't fight me, guys. Don't fight me. Don't fight me. Don't fight me. But to me, I think Lafayette, Louisiana, has some of the best food in the nation. Don't fight me. People get upset. Lafayette? Yes. Have you ever had uh duck gumbo from Charlie G's in Lafayette, Louisiana? Have you ever had some catfish nuggets from Fisos in Lafayette, Louisiana? [laughter] Listen to me. [gasps] Huh? some Thai ribs. Y'all don't know nothing about that. From Lafayette, Louisiana. Louisiana has. Don't slip on Louisiana with this food, guys. We all know New Orleans come in strong, but Lafayette is strong, too. Anyway, we're not talking about food, guys. We're talking about Jesus, the bread of life. But, man, we're [laughter] we're grateful for you being here. Um, this is the Advent season. The word advent comes from the word adventist has roots in a Latin word adventist and it means coming. It's a season in the Christian lurggical cal on the Christian lurggical calendar where we as a church celebrate the and commemorate the coming of Jesus the birth of Jesus which is the greatest miracle in human history the most important miracle in human history. During this time of Advent, we don't we don't just reflect on God's ability. We just don't excuse me appreciate express appreciation for the miracle God has worked in Jesus in the past. Uh we create expectation and anticipation that God by his grace, sovereignty will work miracles in and through and for his people in the present. And so all week we're having conversations for the purpose of elevating elevating our faith um elevating our expectation and anticipation that God would move miraculously in through and for us. And last but not least, we always start this week with the same person, Dr. Vernon. And we always end this week with the same person. Uh my college sweetheart, my baby's mother, my life partner in life and in ministry. Make some noise everybody for Shemica Lee Gooden Daniels. [laughter] >> Not my whole name. >> Fire in the fat. Drop some fire in the chat everybody for Yes. >> Hey, >> Sister Daniels. how you doing this morning? >> I'm good this morning. >> Well, listen, I asked the question to Dr. Dutley and Pastor Desan on yesterday. >> Um, as sons of the house and when we use the word sons, we're not sunning people. It's actually a biblical term like the the the Bible uses three metaphors predominantly to describe um church. So church is a hospital for those that consume. >> It's a family >> that connect to it. >> It's an army for those that contribute. >> Right? >> We say people who just come because man, they're in need of something from Jesus. Their experience with church is like it's a hospital. And that's biblical. Jesus said those who are well don't need a physician. Um those who connect with fam with church exp >> right >> and those that serve on dream team or staff they use their vision and they're they're part of the army. They're a good soldier in the army of the Lord and their job is to protect the family to advance mission of the to advance the mission of the king to protect the family. But family is a metaphor. Church is all three of those things. And so, um, they're sons and daughters of the house and we're brothers and sisters in Christ. And so, as a person who is, um, a part of this family, >> just talk to me a little bit about what Miracle Week means to you. >> Um, so this is something that I look forward to um, every every year. And the reason I look forward to it and it means so much to me is because I know that God is a God who um will always do for us. He will always provide for us. He's going to always be working things for our good. But this is a year that I can partner and say, "Okay, I have to put myself in position so that God sees that I trust him enough that I'm waiting on something." So when I'm preparing for miracle week, I'm in a posture. I'm in a different position because I'm like, "All right, God. I know you're going to do it because I believe everything that he can do. But this is me partnering with other people saying we trust him, we believe him, and we're coming together, uniting as one to believe what God is going to do in their homes, in our homes, in our church, all the way around. >> 100%. 100%. You know, one of the things I said in a conversation yesterday, like with our family, >> it seems like miracle week is always like a week of stretching. Yeah, [laughter] >> it's like it seems to be it seems to be like practically as it relates to generosity less and less convenient each year. But um it's it's a week of stretching. And here's what I mean by that. It's like even in scripture it's like almost every not almost but a large number of miracles happened on the other side of somebody obeying instruction that stretched them in some way. It's like Jesus asking a person to do something. Stretch out your hand or like take up your bed and walk. It's like if I could take up my bed and walk, I would be walking already. What do you mean take up my bed and walk? But it is like these prompings and which is why even as we, >> you know, leading the miracles work our way into miracle Sunday each year. What we ask people to do that that are part of our church and supporters of our church, we ask them, hey, we want you to ask God. >> You got to go to God. And that's not like some reverse psychology. Like we know some people aren't going to do that, but we're asking people, hey, you need to go to God because you need to hear from him on how he is stretching you specifically >> in this season. And so um talk about man just the importance of having a posture of openness >> Yeah. >> to ways in which God you know um wants to speak to and stretch people, >> right? Um, I think that's good. And even when you just said that, so for me, I've always been a faith girl. We talk about this every time we're on together. Um, I have big faith from day one. I raised I was raised in a home where my mom instilled that in me. And it's like, I believe God can do whatever it is, whatever it is in his own timing. And so, even as we approach this week in the posture, I had to pray about, okay, what does this look like for me, Shemica, as someone who has faith, but what does it mean for me to be stretched? And I I posted about this yesterday on social media. Um, I have been in a season where I've been learning and studying more about what it means to truly surrender. And so for me, it's okay, I'm gonna be stretched this week because there's some things because you asked us to write down some things. So there's some things that I've written down, but I'm like, what does it really mean for me to even surrender in this knowing God can do it, but me taking my hand off of it and really letting God do the whole thing? >> Yes. >> And so I'm looking at my list now. I wrote in my journal yesterday. I'm like, "God, I know I can't I can't even touch this. I can't do anything with it. For this to happen, it's going to be all you." And so that's me being stretched because I'm a natural controller. I like to put my hands in it. I like to see what I can do to fix it. >> And in this season, I'm like, I'm gonna really give it to you. I'm going to take my hand off of it, and I'mma trust because when he does it, then I want to be able to say, God did it, and I didn't do anything but believe him and trust him >> 100%. Pastor Clack said earlier this week that God will never provide for us in a way that keeps us from having to come back to him. >> He's always going to keep us in positions where we we are dependent on him. And you know that is something that I think has been a part of our faith journey. And that's kind of where the direction I want to take our conversation today. Um I want our conversation to be a little bit more testimonial. >> Okay? >> And I I I'm going to tell you why I think that's important. Okay. >> Pastor McDow said on Wednesday, I think he he made he gave a quote by John Piper that said, >> "God's probably doing about 10,000 things in our life right now. You're just only aware of three of them, >> right?" >> So, you know, I think very often people don't have faith for the miracles they can receive. >> Yes. >> Because they forgotten the miracles God's already done. >> Absolutely. I think when we say miracle sometimes people think like raising of the dead or >> the sight to the blind and we believe God can do that literally or metaphorically, >> right? >> But there are often times >> I don't think there's any such thing as a little miracle. But there are like these little miracles that we miss and that we take for granted or that we just call coincidence or that we don't think about. And it is like if you were to actually look back over your life, >> yeah, >> you will see there is a track record of consistent miracles like >> getting through school. I think about me coming from Kil Michael, Mississippi and >> and what God has done. That's a miracle. >> Absolutely. >> That's a miracle. I think of getting through school and like when I when I go back and I think about how did I get through my first year of school and I couldn't afford my books. >> Yeah. Like how do you like I I had to borrow books. >> Yeah. >> And I was playing sports and I was playing basketball. It's like how that's that's a miracle. >> Yeah. >> So I think sometimes it's important. >> Yeah. >> Like to kind of go back >> and to reflect on and to testify >> what God has done in the past. >> Yeah. Absolutely. >> Um one of the things I'm doing tonight is uh we're heading to New Jersey tonight and we're going to be doing change night there. When I was writing my message on yesterday, there was something that Pastor William said Wednesday that inspired the title of my message >> and uh and you know about Lord make about Lord God making us signs and wonders, >> right? >> Him doing something in and through our life that like inspires the faith of someone else. And so I want us to just kind of talk through like three chapters of our life, right? >> Okay. >> Maybe four. All right. We might get to four, but three chapters of our life. And I just kind of want to tell go the story of God's goodness. >> And uh maybe what God has done can be used to inspire and instill faith in other people. >> Okay. >> And like the first faith step I think um where we saw miracles was um it was miracles of provision was >> when we first met. I was in college. >> I mean we both were in college obviously. you graduated before I did and you were in your career as a software engineer and um I think what is often I think what's often I don't feel like I do I don't talk about this probably as much as I would like to the faith it took for you long story short guys me and PS met in college she software engineer she graduated before I did she's a cougar I don't I don't [laughter] whatever ever, you know, and so she graduated college before I did. [laughter] >> And so she's she's in her career, but when we first met, I was going to law school. Like that was my intention. That was >> Yeah. >> what I had talked about. I was I was a very clear man like at 19. Like I was a very very clear man. >> I had my call in ministry. I was even though I had my call to ministry, I was clear. I'm do this church stuff on the side. I'm going to law school. pastoral ministry um was something that I felt called to in some way, but not like a senior pastor. So, I didn't have any interest in that. And long story short is she met fell in love with who she thought was going to be a lawyer. >> And then my senior year of college, I just surrendered that >> uh >> that dream of law school as an Isaac to the Lord and um was going to seminary. And my first choice for seminary was actually Vanderbilt. And Vanderbilt was in Nashville because it was only a few hours away from home, reputable school, but Vanderbilt only gave me a 75% scholarship because they had given out all their scholarship money because I applied so late. >> So, um, Vanderville gave me a 75% scholarship or Roberts University denied me. Um, and that was I love RU, but that I wasn't supposed to be there. Um, and Princeton, which I just applied to because I had a friend that went there. >> Yeah. >> Is what gave me a full ride. So, I ended up not only not going to law school, I ended up going all the way up to New Jersey for seminary. And long story short is this. Two things had to happen. One, I had to give up my dream of law school. But also it meant you gave up your career. >> Absolutely. >> Software engineering. >> Absolutely. >> Um and you left a job at the Stennis Space Center. >> And came up to New Jersey with me in seminary and we were on welfare. >> Yeah. >> Your parents had >> give us food stamps. We only were on wick. They got wick. >> They would even give us that. >> Yeah. 100%. have no money, but they didn't even give us that. So, we really had to have some real faith. >> Yes. Yeah. Yeah. So, so talk about the faith >> that it took to lay down. >> Yeah. >> I'm not going to say your dream, >> but definitely to lay down something you had worked almost your whole life for. >> Um, I actually talked about this last week with someone when I was talking just about our relationship and even how we met. And so I think it started before the move. Um when we started dating, there were things about you that I knew God assigned me to you even when we were dating. And so there were things that I saw in you. I didn't know you were going to be a pastor, but I saw >> that makes two of us. >> He was preaching. He [laughter] was preaching. But I saw something in him. And so once we were married and um and we had to start talking about the seminary thing your senior year, even before we got married, but I was clear that I was supposed to be with you no matter what. I was supposed to be your helpmate. Even then, I understood that I was supposed to support you. And so I didn't know what that was going to look like for us. But when I signed up for that, it's like I signed up trusting God that whatever he had for you >> that I was going to be in alignment with that. So it I think it all goes back to posture and I probably could not explained it back then but I was always in a posture where if God put us together and he said this is what you're supposed to do then it's going to work out. Now when it came to the job for me because I am a I like to keep my hands on it and I like to have control. um you were going to law school, but I was working at the space center and my job actually was going to transfer me, but because September 11th happened when the Twin Towers went down and all of that, we lost our funding and our contract. So, my job then said they couldn't transfer me. So, you were there in school. I mean, you were there about to go to school and we were thinking we were going to be set. So, the faith moment, it it really went in when we learned that I wasn't going to have income anymore. >> Yes. And so we got to New Jersey and it's like I didn't have a job at all. I didn't have >> And I was a full-time student. So the degree program I was in for for my attorneys out there is the theological equivalent of a JD. >> Yes. >> So it was like a 90s something hour program. So it is fulltime three years. You can't do it part-time. Doing part-time I still be in school now. >> Yes. >> So I'm a full-time student. So I can't work. And then she loses her income. Go ahead, babe. >> My income. So, we're I'm moving thinking I got a job and income. When we get there, it's hey, I don't have anything. No severance package or anything cuz I had to leave to go be with my husband. So, even in that moment, it's like I wanted to figure out what can we do. And I was praying about God, okay, I just had a baby, so I don't even know what to do. I'm going into a whole new place. And right then, that's when I'm like, "All right, God. We trust you. If this is what you want for us, we trust you. We trust you because we know he's supposed to be in seminary. We know he has a greater call on his life. What do you want me to do?" And so, I think in that moment, my faith was trusting God and listening to find out what do I need to do now? I'mma always hustle and do what I got to do to make ends meet. But I was like in that moment, I wanted God to tell us what we needed to do and give me um strategy and clarity on what we needed to do. >> 100%. Guys, here's the lesson we want you to learn from chapter one. And I want some of you to put this in the Somebody put this in the chat. Obedience can be expensive. >> Yep. >> It cost It cost us convenience. It cost me. You want to talk about broken and embarrassed? Here I am when I I want you to think about this. You first meet your girlfriend's parents, fiance's parents, wife's parents eventually, and they think their daughter's marrying a lawyer. They think they set. >> Okay, I raised my baby. They've taken care of their baby. They think their baby's in good hands. And then all of a sudden, >> Yeah. your daughter's on wick. It was expensive. I was embarrassed. It was >> It was excruciating for me emotionally. Um and I didn't know why God had us in that position. >> But here's what we learned. >> When you're in situations when you don't know, >> Yeah. >> you can be tortured by what you don't know. >> Or you can be comforted by what you do know. Yes. >> And what we knew is God had called me >> to seminary. >> And what we knew is God had called us to be together. >> Yep. >> So sometimes instead of being stressed about what you don't know, you got to lean on what you do know. >> You do know >> and you have to obey God. And sometimes obeying God >> is inconvenient. Obedience can be expensive. >> Yeah. And so, long story short, you ended up like taking a a substitute teacher job. And >> anyway, so God kind of like worked it out. And I've told this story before of how your parents help support us because God will send help that you need. And so that's kind of like chapter one. In chapter two was like we finally kind of get out of that rut. I'm interning and then interim at this, you know, incredible opportunity in terms of this church and we're finally stable and you got a job and we're not on Wick anymore and and it's like, okay, thank you Jesus. We can finally breathe. And then God tells us to start at that time Kingdom Church. >> Yep. Here we go again. >> Here we go again. We're like, okay, finally we got some breathing room, >> right? >> Finally, we can go to Denny's and not stress [laughter] shownies. You don't know. Y'all don't know nothing about >> Sha. Bless. >> You don't know nothing. You don't know anything about Sha. That salad bar at Shaies was was was right though. >> Chicken tenders you will order. Lord my husband. [laughter] That salad bar at Sha. Come on Shies. I see some people in the chat know about. Okay. Come on Shies. Anyway, we finally get some breathing room and then God tells us to um >> to start Kingdom Church and it was like >> Mhm. >> another faith move >> and um we literally >> Yes. >> stepped out on faith >> and um >> God just touched the hearts of people and moved supernaturally. And uh I remember Brian Jackson >> coming over to my house, sitting down in my office. Well, Drusilla Taylor was the came in the church office first, the Golden Girls. >> Um so when you guys hear us talk about like the Golden Girls >> and some of our Atlanta family, you met them because >> we brought them down >> uh not too long ago. I think it might have been opening weekend >> for uh for the Decab location. >> But those women have been with us since >> Yeah. before day one. >> Yep. >> Before day one. Before day one. And so Lucy Mitchell and Dusilla Taylor and Miss and Gail Derry and uh who am I missing? I got Did I get Shirley Phillip? >> Yeah. Shirley, Miss Drew, Miss Gail. Miss Yeah. >> Yep. And so they're not the only ones, but that crew from day one, you had women like that who were ushering and serving and and giving. in >> um Brian Jackson came over to my house, put an envelope in my hand >> like before be before the It wasn't for me, it was for the church guys. You know, the Saints Saints get really uh get really funny acting. [laughter] >> But no, Brian Jackson came to my to my house and came in my office and put a a uh an envelope in my hand and said, "Um, man, this is" We hadn't even opened the church yet. He said, "This is my tithe." >> Yeah. >> And uh we literally we were trusting God. >> But Yeah. And and I talked about this last week, too. What's crazy is I'm like, "Woo, we have made some real faith moves with this. The way we step out when we hear God, but I was talking about this because a lot of times people would think, oh, well, she had a job. She still had income coming in." But we were both full-time ministry by then. So, when we made that move to open Kingdom Church, >> we didn't have anything coming in again. But >> because you had listened to mentors and things like that, we had sat down with people to help us stack for a minute. So we had a savings account that we stacked and we made a commitment because like I was working for even Lockhe Martin for a minute and we were like, "No, it's ministry right now." And so I remember we had built that savings account up and you said, "All right, babe. I don't know how we gonna do this." We had put a budget together on how we were going to buy um m um keyboards and >> instruments, all of those sorts of things. and we said we will pull it out of our savings account and we going to live off this and we going to trust God. So once again we were in full like trusting not having any income coming in. And I think for me it's like every time we really trusted because we know he will always provide because I've always believed that like I believe if you sew God is going to always provide. And so when people hear that story I don't think they realize it like we just took our own step. We said, "We're going to pour back into the ministry." >> And when we did that, people literally start sending us messages saying, "How can we send tithing? Where do we tithe? What do we name? What do we write on our check? What's the name of?" >> Yeah. Yeah. So, that was like that was like chapter [laughter] that was like chapter two, you know? I remember when we got the first building in um >> Euing, >> that Euing building and what it took to renovate that and the saints giving generously and supernaturally and uh us having to empty our savings out again for that. And I remember um Pastor Henry Henkins came the day of the dedication. Yeah. He was speaking at the church at Pennington Avenue and he knew because he was leading me and pastoring me. He knew that >> we had emptied out our savings and we didn't have no money. And so [laughter] he he received a love offering for us, right? Uh that Sunday morning. And then that very next day, not next day, but the next week, we had to take that and give all of that to here's here here's guys here here's what we're saying. Here's what we're saying. Again, we're we I typically don't talk with this degree of detail because >> can sound like this is like about us >> but we're testifying and one I don't like people in my business period. Um any anyway so I don't Yeah, but I want to testify like of the story and the faithfulness of God and to see >> from that how God honored that faith. >> Yeah. and took us from where we were then to where we to where we are now. >> Absolutely. >> Um is evidence that watch this. Obedience is not just expensive. Here's the second point. Obedience is effective. >> It works. >> God honors that obedience. >> Yes. >> And um >> and it can be uncomfortable. >> Yes. >> Uncomfortable. >> Yes. Yes. >> Yeah. Yeah. So, um this last kind of big leap is >> really interesting and it was when we started sensing a stirring um for God to what I what I call expand our tents. >> Yeah. >> And we went through like this was probably around 200 um >> 15 >> 16 >> or so that we started sensing this. I started sensing this >> and so I'm like, "Okay, God, are you calling me out? Like, we're doing this incredible work in New Jer God's doing an incredible thing in New Jersey." And we're like, "Man, things are going well." And I'm traveling and speaking and things of that particular nature. And um >> uh Saul Hicks when we were 26 years old sat in our living room in Burlington, New Jersey, and I asked him and Saul Hicks u his daughter attends our Decab location. >> Yeah. Cynthia. Mhm. >> Yeah. Cynthia. So Saul um 26 years old, incredible financial advisor and guru. And uh I didn't know anything about a financial advisor, but one of my best friends, E. Earl Jenkins, >> um is the one like, "Hey, you need a financial advisor. You need to be planning. You need to be a good steward." So, 26 years old, we sat down with Saul Hicks in the living room and we said, "Hey, knowing what you know now, what would you tell your 26-year-old self about resources?" >> Mhm. >> He said, "Tithe 10." >> Yeah. >> Save 10, >> live on 80. >> That's right. And he says over time, what you pay God, what you pay yourself >> can increase >> when what you're living on decreases. >> Yeah. >> And so from 26, we be both 46 now. Now I'm born in July. She born in March. So she a few months older than me. That's why she's a cougar. >> But um I want to make sure I'm saying that right. Cougar don't mean nothing nasty to it. >> Well, >> is that nasty? I mean a little >> sometimes you say the things I'm and I don't I'm not always sure what that mean. Let me just stop saying that just in case that means something nasty. I just thought it meant like a older woman who >> I mean it's an older woman but it's definitely a different Yeah, that goes with it. >> Let me see. Let me make sure this is Let me look at the I need to verify. Is this is that nasty? Okay. They saying it's not nasty. They're just saying cougar. It just means Okay. Yeah, it's not nasty. Okay. All right. Okay. Good. All right. So, [laughter] >> so anyway, we started sensing this this stirring and it was like, okay, we're like, okay, man, we've been at this point, we've been practicing that Saul Hicks principle and things of this particular nature and we're like, okay, we finally are. We got some breathing room and we're doing and then God's like, transition. And I'm like, okay, I don't know what that means. Am I transitioning out of pastoral ministry? I was like, am I about to be the black John Bevere? like do I just travel and speak and create resources? Like what >> what is that? I was like am I supposed to be a part of an apostolic team? Does that mean because whatever God has given me, guys, I promise you I hold it with an open hand. >> That's right. >> If he asks for it, he can have it. >> Yep. >> He's proven faithful. He can have it. >> If he says walk away, I walk away. >> Yeah. >> Because one, I didn't ask for none of this. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> And I'm grateful for my assignment. I still would have picked lawyer. If it was up to me, I still would have picked that. >> Yeah. >> So, I'm like, Lord, am I supposed to walk away? Am I? And um long story short, through a series of events, >> it was a faith move to say, okay, we have to expand our tents. It's not this or that, >> right? >> It's this and that. It was not Jersey or somewhere else. It's Jersey and somewhere else. and there was a stint in Orlando, but ultimately we had to make this big faith move to Atlanta. >> So, talk about that and we'll wrap up with this. How did that stretch your faith? >> I I feel like God showed it to me ahead of time. I I had a few dreams. So, um as he showed it to me, and oftentimes I feel like he'll do this. He'll help you get in the position. He'll get you ready for what's coming for you. And so um and that's why it's important to have the relationship with God and really just um have that connection because he start preparing my heart even before it happened. And I think he prepared me because with that move it was a lot that came into that like we went in again coming to Georgia not knowing anything and it was during the pandemic. So we came to a place not knowing was there a building. We saw a building. I saw a building in a dream. We didn't know is there a building? Do people really want this? We had done a few popups, but it was before the pandemic, so we don't we really don't know if people are going to come. It was a whole lot of I don't knows. But we left once again on a this is what God said and we believe what he said. >> And so for me, I was prepared, but I was uncomfortable because it was just a lot of I don't knows. >> And I didn't know what to do with that for a while. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It was it was nerve-wracking for me. It was nerve-wracking for the bishop. Now, I've never smoked a cigarette in my life. So, let me let me say that. But that move, I wanted a pack of pale males >> because here's what was happening. It was like, I'm worried that the people in New Jersey are going to think I abandoned them. >> These people sacrificed. They rode with me. They believed in me. They knew me. They they they loved our children. They they if if if if I needed a ham sandwich, they would cut half of their ham sandwich or give me a ham sandwich. I'm like, I God, I don't want these people to feel like I'm leaving them. These my people I'm not. >> And I'm a loyalist by nature. I'm a loyal man. >> Yeah. >> To a fault a lot of times. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> Um that is that's caused me a lot of heartache. So I'm I'm afraid >> that people gonna think I'm leaving them. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> Watch this, babe. Then there's people in the city that I knew and love that was mad I came. >> Exactly. >> I'm like, wait a minute. This is I'm [laughter] >> I don't want people mad because I'm leaving. Some people are going to be mad because I leave. And then other people I know and love, they mad because I came here. And it's like >> turf, right? >> I ain't want to leave and I ain't WANT TO COME. LIKE it's it was and so >> we I had no idea >> at all >> that God it it was like to me that was the in terms of what felt risky. I felt like and I told you this. I called my dad. It was I called my dad. I called Reverend Timothy Daniels. >> I called my dad >> and I said, "Dad, I'm so afraid to make this move." >> Yeah. >> It's like 2020. >> I call my I said, "I'm so afraid to make this move." Yeah. >> And I said, "But dad, I'm more afraid not to." >> Yeah. >> Cuz this one felt like a greater risk because when I gave up law school, I didn't have nothing. >> You know what I mean? So, you're giving up a dream. >> Yeah. >> But I felt like everything that God had done, it was at risk. >> Yeah. >> With coming to an Atlanta. And I'm like, Atlanta doesn't need us. there's there's so many great amazing churches here and >> uh and I'm like they don't need us like we even felt like we felt called to like teal hard ground you know >> meaning so like Jersey and Orlando and Los an like >> regions that were kind of unchurched. >> Yeah. And uh and then I knew what happens when you take a missional model like that and you bring it in the Bible belt. Like all the Bible thumpers and Pharisees are now they they about to slander you in the church. Oh, they ain't real over there and they got this over there and they got that. It's like yeah, we we So it was like >> I wasn't I wasn't excited about any of that. And so I had no clue what God was going to do. And I think for me, I wasn't afraid about the move as much as about not being obedient because one of the things I know for sure is God had spoken to us and showed us multiple times through dreams and through just different words. And remember that week we were still kind of teeter tottering and praying. I got a message from a woman that she knew you from a book because you all had written a book from the same publisher. She didn't know anything about me. >> She didn't know me. >> Oh, I thought y'all No, this was a woman that had followed. She's an entrepreneur in Kansas City >> and she followed uh somehow she got exposed to my ministry. >> I think maybe through Elevation or something like that. She got exposed to my ministry. So, we didn't we did not even know each other. She got exposed to my ministry and she was the one that helped train me on some stuff in the marketplace. >> Gotcha. >> So, I saw what she was doing with communities and and things like that. So learning how to do Daniel's Dan and those sorts of things. >> I learned that from her. So I didn't even have a relationship with her. But she sent you a voice memo on DM >> on DM >> because we couldn't find a place to stay [clears throat] in Atlanta. And I told I told PS I was like maybe this is God's sign that we're not supposed to do this right now. >> I told her that on one day and the next morning you woke up. This is why when people have prophetic prompings, >> you you need to give a prompting humbly. Don't say God told me to tell you. Give it humbly, >> but you gotta give it. >> You gotta give it >> because because some people might need that thing that God put on your heart to say. >> You can't be so afraid of being wrong that you don't share it. But you could be wrong, so share it humbly. >> That's right. >> So, she sent you a a a a voice message on DM on IG cuz you didn't have a number. >> Uhuh. She didn't know me. She never >> And she was like, "This this gonna sound so crazy, but I just sense that you guys are contemplating a move." >> Yep. and >> like it's not working out but >> God said you're supposed to do it >> and I was like okay then so that's I'm like I app we over our time let's we gonna wrap up in a second but uh but we this the last day well tomorrow morning we got Pastor Hannah but um but remember I was in Auckland New Zealand >> yes >> in Auckland New Zealand I was preaching >> yes >> I was preaching And there was a pastor from Sacramento is there. Uh great man of God and his wife was there also. So I get through speaking. >> Yeah. >> Me and this pastor from Sacramento. We we're we're the two people from America speaking at the conference. >> And we go back to the back >> and his wife >> who didn't sit she didn't hold that prophetic prompting. >> She was like, "Hey, >> I just feel like the Lord, what did she say? Don't get too comfortable in New Jersey." >> Too comfortable. >> Yeah. They're from Sacramento, California. I don't even know her name. I can't even remember her name. I know her husband's name, but I can't even remember her name. And this woman had never met me before. >> Never. >> Beautiful woman of God, but she she sent something and she shared it. >> And so, we were like, "Okay, we're obeying God." It's like, man, I don't want people to think I'm leaving them. >> It's so much we're risking. >> Yeah. >> But to see what God has done. >> That's right. to see what God has done >> because of our obedience. >> That's right. >> Blowing our mind. >> Yeah. And Pastor Jacob said this to me years ago. He said, "Shemica, you never know what's on the other side of your obedience." And I have held that. >> Yes. >> Since then. >> Yeah. So, we're sharing all this to say, guys, to to stir your faith. I think sometimes people think the miracle offering is about the offering and it's about the faith. >> Yeah. It's about this is this is not the only way you express like we we've talked we haven't talked about like the I mean we mentioned like emptying our accounts and >> we had mentioned the seeds that we've seown and um >> you know what I mean and the trembling [clears throat] >> trembling trembling and um so so but this isn't about that it's about the generosity is about faith it's about trust. It's about believing God. And so what we've shared with you is just like three chapters of our story where you've seen God's faithfulness in our life. And here's what you need to know. >> You got stories just like that, too. >> He's been faithful to you as well. >> Yeah. >> He's going to be faithful to you >> as well. And across our life, we can probably see. I know I can. A million little miracles. >> We're going back to New Jersey today. The last time we were in New Jersey. >> And this is this is like this is so weird because I was thinking about I don't know. Like yesterday I was working out. I was thinking about going to New Jersey. I'm like, man, why am I getting why am I getting nervous? >> I thought about it. >> It's the trauma from the accident. >> We were there together. The last time >> Yeah. The last time we were there together. >> Yeah. >> Was that And I think about that. That's a miracle. Mhm. Mhm. >> Walking away from that. >> Mhm. >> Just being sore. >> Yeah. >> Well, at least at least there are some other, you know, >> Yeah. >> other individuals have had some issues that they working through, but thank God they aren't >> right. >> Life-threatening. >> That's a miracle. So, what what what we're just trying to show you is guys, don't forget the miracles God's done in the past because that becomes fuel for your faith that God can do it in the future. That's it. >> So, on this coming Miracle Sunday, um we're we're giving again in faith >> and uh no matter how God blesses and prospers you, God is he has honored here. Here's the way God's God has honored our generosity, babe. I think not by giving us money, >> but by sending us people. >> That's right. >> That have come into our life. >> Yeah. >> That have trained and mentored and coached us >> particularly in the marketplace in business. >> Right. >> On how to do that. I think about people like Terkica Lynn. >> Yeah. >> Terra Lynn who's our real estate mentor. And I'm like, man, the stuff she trained us on, the deals she brought us in on >> Yeah. >> It was just a favor of God. It's like, yeah, God told me to help you. >> Yeah, absolutely. >> Erica doesn't need anything from us. >> She didn't benefit on bringing us in on some deals and showing us the ropes and things of that nature, driving us around in her >> car, >> showing us apartment complexes and things like that that she gave us opportunity to invest in >> and um >> and how that has been such a blessing to our family and allows us to be philanthropic. >> Yeah. But we would have never known anything like that if it weren't for people like her >> or Eene. >> Yeah. >> Eileen Wilder >> who would sit with us at Myron's masterminds and get on the phone with us and help us or Neo. >> Yeah. >> Nehemiah Davis who would >> absolutely, >> you know, call me and you need to be doing this, you need to be doing that. So sometimes the harvest shows up in different ways, guys. That's what I'm saying. >> It does. It's not always money, but we're going to be giving generously Sunday. >> And um >> we know if everybody does their best, we're going to have everything we need. >> All right. This is the longest one, but these uh somebody's asking tonight which location we're going to be at. We're going to be at the Euing location tonight. 7:30 p.m. >> Yes. >> Uh 7:30 p.m. we'll be at the Euing location in New Jersey tonight. 1000 a.m. tomorrow morning is at the Dicab location. And we're saying, we're telling God's people, yes, obedience is inconvenient at times, >> but yeah, we're going to worship God on a Saturday morning, 10 a.m. You know, some people like, I ain't going to I'm not going to church on a Saturday at 10 a.m. It's like, if you can't come, that's that's different, >> right? >> If a person has that kind of attitude, God bless you. We love you. God still loves you. But that's not the attitude that we have. >> I gotta get >> like Lord, you call, we answer. >> That's right. >> You call, we answer. And um we're going to be concluding at all of our locations on this coming Sunday, man. So, I want to pray us out. I look forward to um to being here. I mean, to being with you, New Jersey tonight and um >> and Atlanta locations. Y'all put some fire in the chat for Pastor Shemica. Everybody, >> thank you. And people are asking, will it be online? So, yes, it'll be online as well. >> Yep. Tonight will be online. >> Tomorrow, >> tomorrow morning will be online. Yes. >> And Sunday will be online. Yes. >> So, our changed global family, we hadn't forgot about you. >> Um, >> so we Pastor Mika, thank you for being such an amazing faith partner. And guys, as I think y'all think me [snorts] and PS should do more like this. We should do more just like conversations >> like this. She only like 10 feet away from me in the house right now. But man, I think this is I think it's important. I think we're in a season where we got to pull back the curtains a little bit and tell a little bit more >> absolutely the story of the story of God in our life. >> Um >> so Father, we just thank you for all that you've done and all that you're doing. I personally want to thank you for an incredible church family >> that you have given as a gift to Shemica and I. >> Yes. >> They have been a gift in so many ways. They've been a gift to our family. >> Yes. >> They've been a gift to our children. They've been a gift to our parents. And uh, Father, we just pray that you would help Shemikica and I to help being a gift to them in some way. We pray over your people. Your people need miracles. Somebody some somebody needs one swiftly, Father. But as we reflect on the miracles you've done in the past, we anticipate you'll continue to do them in the future. So, we pray your blessing on each and every person. May this miracle week be a week where some people where your people experience miracles. >> Yes, God. >> We pray over our gathering tonight in New Jersey, our gathering tomorrow morning in Atlanta, and our gathering on Sunday across all of our locations. I pray for supernatural generosity. You have given Change a mandate and a vision to be a third way church to make a third way difference, a kingdom church. And we pray that your church will be fully resourced to carry out what you call it to do. We will put you first. We will live God first lifestyles. And we believe that as we take care of the things that matter to you, you will take care of the things that matter to us. We trust you. So stir your people's faith. We say like the parents of uh the epileptic boy, uh God, we believe, but help our unbelief. We commit it to you in Jesus name. Amen. >> Amen. >> All right, family. I love you. And I won't say cougar anymore. Um, I'm gonna find another word. >> All right. Take care. >> All right. >> God bless.
