 so we embrace your love today. We are changed. This morning and I'm not even playing. We start a new series. It I'm serious. This is the most important series. This is the most important series ever. Ever We've been on this journey. And the journey keeps taking us closer and closer and closer and closer and closer to the destiny.

And I am grateful that I have a church that has been willing to walk this journey with me. And uh yeah, go ahead and give yourselves yourself a hand to go through this journey with me. >>

 >> But in my studying over this series and and writing this series I was so blown away not from what I was reading, not from what I was writing but from what I thought years ago but dismissed because I'm like no way.

No way. And I immediately went back to well, nobody says that. Everybody else says this and I understood that approval addiction just kind of kept me from digging, but since I've been delivered from approval addiction, I just been digging in everything. To the point where it just, you know So, you'll see what I'm saying.

So, this is going to last for about a month and a half um because I want to take my time because I cannot assume that somebody in here today has heard something that we started off with 13, 14 years ago in in the beginnings of this grace. So, this series is going to be a series and we're going to deal with sin consciousness versus innocence consciousness.

Sin consciousness versus innocence consciousness. And I believe it is the number one weapon that Satan has used to keep the believer stagnant and paralyzed in that same place. And the only thing we know is what we've heard and what we've always heard because of the fear of a man or a woman of God to dig deeper.

I know this one thing. If I'm not doing nothing for the Lord if I'm not doing nothing but making mistakes for the Lord, at least I'll would be doing something. But I'm not going to sit here and just repeat the same old uh thing >> 
[laughter]
 >> over and over and over again when it's slapping me in my face.

So I want to start off by just telling a little story and when I say story, I don't mean lie about how all of this stuff started off. So, here we are God makes a man and he breathes into the nostrils of that man the breath of life and that man becomes a living soul.

And then God says, I'm going to take the same DNA of this man that I just made and I'll make a woman. And then you go to Genesis chapter 3 and there in the garden and they spent their time fellowshipping in the presence of the Lord and there was no sin consciousness at all to the point where they did not wear they did not wear artificial clothing.

They did not have on artificial clothing. They were naked of artificial clothing. Now, why do I say it like that? Why do I say they were naked of artificial clothing? They were naked of artificial clothing, but they were not exposed. I believe that they were clothed with the glory.

And so you know, you're spending all this time in God and and so God makes a man and a woman, he makes mankind to live forever. Mankind was never supposed to die. He was created immortal, not mortal. Mortal is when you die. He was created to be immortal, to live forever.

And so, that's why we read in the Old Testament people living 938 years, 800 years. And then as a result of the curse, the time was was shortened, but it still took time. I mean, you're talking about an immortal now going to be mortal. You You've heard those stories, right?

So, the big thing is in Genesis chapter 3 here is a man and a woman in the garden and a lot of people think the sin was they ate of that tree and which they were told not to eat of, which could have been avoided had they been obedient to the original instruction and that was don't ignore all the trees in the garden.

The big problem was you were ignoring all the trees in the garden and zeroed in on that one tree with the help of Lucifer. They had access to every tree in the garden. So this deal took place in heaven. Uh Satan deceived what? A third of the angels?

And that's millions and millions of of of of millions of angels, all right? And so, they were kicked out of heaven. Satan, who is an archangel, if you read there's a scripture of of of Lucifer he was the he was he was clothed in beauty and and and and instruments and sounds would come out of him.

He was decked out. So, you you whatever picture you were told about Lucifer is not a horror picture. This dude was sharp. In fact, if he was here, he would get a lot of people's attention. A lot of you cougars would be going after Lucifer. Y'all like, "Excuse me, Lou.

Lou." So, what happens is he now through his pride exalted himself up to try to be equal with God. Kicked out of heaven. Now he invades mankind. And in the garden his attempt was to deceive mankind. Mhm. And through the deception that happened in the garden man yielded to it.

Mankind yielded to it. And now sin for the first time entered into the realm of mankind. Mankind now is conscious of sin. How conscious? Now all of a sudden they're hiding themselves. And God didn't throw them away. They ran away from God. They were hiding themselves because God showed up and and and and they like, "Adam, it Where are y'all?"

And they hid themselves. And they called themselves with fig leaves. So, something happened. Sin came in. And because of the sin, a consciousness of sin entered in. Now, there there are a few things I want to show you right here. So, that's all of the bedtime story stuff.

And and there's some evidence that I want to show you of of what's going on here where this whole sin thing is concerned. Because you have to realize once you get out of Genesis, there was no standard for right or wrong. There was no law. THAT'S WHY CAIN KILLED ABEL BECAUSE there was there was no law.

THAT'S WHY WOMEN SLEPT WITH ANGELS. THERE WAS NO LAW AND THEY GAVE giants and there was no law. THEY THEY WERE DOING ALL KINDS OF STUFF. BECAUSE THERE WAS NO STANDARD. THERE WAS NO LAW. AND SO, THE LAW HAD TO eventually come into the earth Hmm. to curb sin, if you will.

In other words, to let people know some standard of that's not right. That has consequence. That will do that. So, it was a temporary band-aid. IT WAS NEVER SUPPOSED to exist forever. It was a temporary fix until Jesus could come. Until Jesus could get in the earth. Now, now listen to this.

So, I ask, "What's the purpose of the law of Moses?" And I want you to write this down and then I'll prove it to you. The purpose of the law of Moses was to expose sin and to reveal man's need for a savior. The purpose for the law of Moses was to expose sin.

A law comes up and you'll see based on the law, what you're doing is wrong. So, the purpose of the law of Moses was to expose sin, but not only that, but to reveal the need for a savior. So, it's going to get such cra- it's going to get so crazy that you going to you going to be wanting a savior.

Now, Romans 3:20 in the King James, he says, "Through the law comes the knowledge of sin." He says, "Therefore, by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight. For by the law is the knowledge of sin." So, the law shows up and because of the law, now you have a knowledge of sin.

Let me give you an illustration. When I was in Germany, I was on the Autobahn. I was wondering why this dude was driving so fast. There is no speed limit on that, or at least it used to be. I don't know what happened. There's no speed limit. You can go as fast as you want to go.

But, I was limited and taking advantage of that liberty. I finally can drive drive as fast as I want to. I was LIMITED IN MY CONSCIENCE to drive FAST AS WHAT I want to because of the law THAT I HAVE BEEN UP under in the United States. I HAVE BEEN UP UNDER THE LAW OF GOING only 55 miles or what's the speed limit and I had to I was I was consciously aware that there's a speed limit somewhere in the United States.

So, when you tell me I can go as fast as I WANT TO GO, THERE'S a liberty that I'm not taking advantage of because my consciousness Are you following what I'm saying? All right. So, likewise, the law shows up and the law brings with it the consciousness of sin.

The law brings with it the knowledge of sin. So, there's the law and the knowledge of sin. So, I am conscious of the sin. The the the uh the uh animal the sacrificial offerings where they had to bring an animal to get their sins conscious. You're conscious of sins every year cuz every year you got to bring a sacrifice to get YOUR SINS CONSCIOUS.

MORE CONSCIOUSNESS of sin. Now, this was a temporary system Now, here's the thing that got me. That was given to Israel. It was a temporary system that was given to Israel. IT WASN'T A HUMAN SYSTEM. It was a temporary system for humans in Israel. All right. Now, now now here's why I say that.

Because this temporary system that was given to Israel pointed to Christ. In fact, Galatians chapter 3, write it down. I'm going to have time to look at all scriptures, but Galatians chapter 3 verse 24 calls the law a schoolmaster. It refers to the law as a schoolmaster that led people to Jesus so they could be justified by faith.

The law was a schoolmaster to lead people to a savior so they could be justified by faith. So, there were 613 laws or 613 commandments. And the Mosaic covenant is it's it's it's it's not just the 10 commandments, but rather it's a set of laws that included the 10 commandments.

So, you got you got 603 laws plus the 10 commandments which would make up the entire Mosaic covenant, the entire Mosaic law. So, all of the laws we're we're familiar with. The 10 commandments was a part of the Mosaic law. It was a part of the governance of Israel at that time.

It was given to Israel 613 laws. Now, you can ask Siri this and she'll tell you. I'm trying to get you to wake up. YOU CAN ASK SIRI, "HOW MANY LAWS are in the Mosaic law?" She'll say, "613." "It does that include the 10 commandments?" "Yes, that includes the 10 commandments."

So, DON'T GO ALL ALL ALL ROGUE ON ME IF I'M telling you those 10 commandments that you got hanging up in your house is a part of the law. I want to fix something before I go. So, you trying to say we don't need the 10 commandments. No, I got Jesus.

Now, I because of Holy Ghost, he will administer the heartbeat of the law. Because before it was those 603 rules that tried to administer the 10 commandments. 10 commandments represents God's excellence. It represents God's character. But, it failed miserably because rules cannot implement that character. It's going to take a new administrator and the new administrator is the Holy Spirit.

And because of the Holy Spirit, he'll show you how not to kill, how not to steal. He'll show you all those things. You don't need to do it by the law because the law was to direct you to Christ. The old covenant is a shadow document of the new covenant which is the real thing.

If you understand that, say amen. All right. Now, for this series, as you can see, you can see where sin consciousness was born. I just showed you where sin consciousness started. There was one time in Adam and Eve in the garden, they were innocent conscious. There was no sin conscious amongst Adam and Eve until Satan came in and deceived them and sin came in and so did sin consciousness.

And men were conscious of sin. Human race was conscious of sin. And people think that's no big big deal. I tell you it's the biggest deal ever. Even today in the churches ev- It it There are people preaching how you should obey the Mosaic law so you can stay conscious of your sin.

Some of you still are conscious of your shame and you're still conscious of your condemnation and you're still conscious of your guilt. You're so conscious like the Autobahn, you can't receive the liberty that Jesus has given to you. All right. Now, for this series, I'm going to define so you'll know how I'm talking about it.

I'm going to define consciousness as awareness or self-aware. So, when I say the reason I do this because I don't want you to think conscious, you know, oh, I'm up, unconscious, I'm down. I'm I'm I'm referring to it I'm referring and defining it as awareness. Sin consciousness means you are more aware of your sin, you are more aware of your shame, you are more aware of your condemnation.

Innocence consciousness is you are more aware of your righteousness, you are more aware of your justification, you are So, that's how I'm going to be using When you see me When you hear me talk about sin consciousness, I'm talking about your awareness to the the things that that's the sin.

When I When I talk about innocence consciousness, I'm talking about your awareness to everything that Christ, through his grace, has made available to you. We on the same We on the same page. All right. Woo! You sure we all on the same bus now, right? All right. So, that is as at That is at That is as much of the beginning that I can put out for you.

And then we can get started with some of these these amazing things that that I that I'm about to show you now. Uh let's go to our text for this series. 1 Corinthians chapter 1 verse 15 and 34. 1 Corinthians 1 verse 15 and and uh Excuse me.

I'm I'm 1 Corinthians chapter 15 verse 34. I don't know what I just said. 1 Corinthians chapter 15 and verse 34. Now, follow me carefully. He says, "Awake to righteousness." Huh. Could it be that while we were in sin consciousness, we were unconscious to righteousness? Awake to righteousness.

And he says, "When you become aware of your righteousness and you're up, you're awake, then you'll sin no more." So, one of the reasons for the sin in your life and all the stuff that's going in your life and the trauma and all of that stuff is because of sin consciousness and he's trying to say, "Wake up to innocence consciousness and sin not.

For some have not the knowledge OF GOD. NOW, SIN THE LAW gives you the knowledge of sin, but some have not the knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame. Now, Paul is calling believers to awake, which implies a shift from unconsciousness to consciousness. Say amen if you understand what I just said.

So, this could mean wake up from SIN CONSCIOUSNESS. WAKE UP FROM SIN CONSCIOUSNESS, which keeps people trapped in GUILT AND FAILURE. WAKE UP FROM SIN CONSCIOUSNESS, which keeps people trapped into condemnation. Wake up Wake up uh from uh uh sin consciousness and wake up to innocence consciousness, which recognizes righteousness
