Jesus is Coming to Receive His Own Unto Himself ((music playing)) What a pleasure. What a privilege we have serving the Lord. Honestly, I mean that with all my heart. >> Amen. >> What a privilege we all have serving our precious >> Amen. >> most wonderful, most beautiful Savior Jesus. >> Amen. >> And here we are sitting together today, Pastor Dan. >> Amen. Lucas and I teaching on the coming of the Lord. I was with you yesterday and day before because I really want you to get ready for the coming of the Lord. >> Amen. >> Every so often we need to be reminded. >> Amen. >> That God has promised us that he will return to earth. >> Lord himself is returning to earth. >> Jesus, wonderful, precious Jesus God Almighty. >> Amen. Now you know Paul said comfort yourselves with these words in >> Thessalonians >> talking about the coming of the Lord. He said comfort. It brings comfort. >> But today I want to talk to you about the why. Like why is there a second coming? >> Okay. >> Yeah. Because often we don't think about like why. Okay. But let's let's look at it. Okay. >> I love it. >> Well, I love it too. >> Amen. So John 14:3 and John 17:24 give me a beautiful reason that God says in his word. >> Yeah. >> And if I go and prepare a place for you, >> I will come again and receive you unto myself that where I am there you may be also. >> He misses you. >> Yeah. >> He misses us. >> Why is he coming on his own? Yeah. >> To receive us unto himself. >> The Lord doesn't want to stay in heaven by himself. >> He wants the church with him. >> Look, the whole reason for creation, >> yeah, >> the whole reason for creation is to prepare a bride for the son of God. >> Amen. >> Amen. >> He doesn't want to be away from his bride. >> Amen. >> He wants his bride with him. >> Amen. >> That's the reason for the coming of the Lord. >> Amen. and and look at at John 17:24. >> Father, I will that they also whom thou hast given me be with me where I am. >> That's what he wants. >> Yes. >> That's his joy. That's the reason why he's coming. >> Amen. >> Because he wants his church with him. >> Amen. >> Let's finish. >> That they may behold my glory which thou hast given me. >> For thou lovest me before the foundation of the world. >> Now, here's another glorious reason. Another glorious reason is Philippians 3 20 and 21. He wants us to look like him. >> Ah, >> and we cannot look like him till he returns. >> Go ahead. >> For our conversation is in heaven from whence also we look for the savior. Yeah. the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, >> according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself. >> It's it's amazing that the Lord is coming also >> to give us our new body. >> A new body. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> To to take this vile body away >> that we have. >> Yes. >> And give us one like his body. A glorious body. body. >> So, there's great reasons for the for the coming of the Lord. >> Yeah. >> The rapture and the return. Remember, I've been talking to you about >> Yeah. >> that when we talk about the coming of the Lord, Yes. >> We're talking about two stages. Stage one, rapture. >> Yes. >> Stage two, visible return. >> Yes. >> He's coming unto the church. Rapture. He's coming with the church judgment >> to judge the world >> to rule on earth for a thousand years. >> That's so powerful. >> So whenever you see the church connected, it's the rapture. For example, in John 14, he said, "I go to prep prepare a place for you and then I will return and take you onto myself." >> Rapture. >> Same in Hebrews 9. He's coming for those who look for him. See, this is rapture. >> Now, we're looking at reasons like why. Well, he misses you. He wants you with him. >> He wants to change your body to look like his body. >> But here's another one which is I think it's awesome. And that is in Matthew 25:E 19 that Lucas will read for us. >> Because I think this is really also important. Oh yes. If we notice what Jesus said. >> Oh yes. and you're going to read uh Matthew 16:27 in just a second with pleasure. But Lucas is going to read Matthew 25. That's why I like having both of because we can go back and forth and give you a lot of >> whatever you like real quick. >> Whatever you like. >> Okay. Matthew 25:19 says, >> "After a long time, the Lord of those servants cometh and reckonth with them." Okay. So, the Lord is also coming in the rapture to reckon or settle accounts with his servants, >> not the world. >> Okay. >> Right. >> How did we do? We will we will all stand before his judgment seat because he will settle the accounts with us >> on how we lived our life, what we did for him on earth. >> So, that's another reason for the coming of the Lord. settle the account. >> And then uh in Matthew 16:27, now this has to do with his second stage. >> So I just gave you reasons and I'll give you all the reasons for the rapture. >> But I'm going back and forth with you because I told you two stages. Rapture, visible coming, seven years later. So that's seven years in between and the reasons for the rapture. He wants his church with him. He wants the church to change our bodies to be like his own. >> He wants to settle accounts with his servants who've been serving him. >> Now let's look at Matthew 16:27. >> For the son of man shall come >> in the glory of his father with his angels and then he shall >> that's the visibility. That's the second stage. Yeah. Pastor, I go ahead. You You cleared something up and now I've been pastor for 40some years. This week, you cleared up something that every pastor needs to have cleared up with such you just when you said about pre-mid posttribulation. It's very plain. I you showed it in a way I'd never seen before. there. It has we have to be gone in the first in that rapture because we're coming with him later. >> So there's no rapture later. It's in the beginning. >> Yeah. >> You and just clearing that up. You set so many people free with that. >> It's the two stages, >> right? >> So he will come unto first >> unto >> the church will go with him to heaven. >> Then they will come with him to earth. >> Then they have to be with him before he returns visibly. You set me free. That's why I'm on fire right now. >> But it's in the Bible and I'm glad that's wonderful >> that I'm helping you. >> Amen. >> Thank the Lord. Okay. So, the Lord will return now in the visible return the second stage. >> Yes sir. >> To render to every man according to his deeds. >> Now this is every human being will also be judged. >> Yeah. >> In the second stage. Mhm. >> So, let's let's look at let's look at second Timothy 4:8 and we're going to look at First Peter 5:4. And this deals with the rapture. Now, we're going to go back to the raptures. Reason for the rapture. Okay. All right. Let's let's read 2 Timothy 4:8, please. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day. >> Okay. Now, one other thing that's going to happen in the rapture is the Lord's going to give rewards to his servants >> because Paul talks about that he will receive a reward on that day. >> On that day. >> That day. >> Oh. So that day, let's go to first Peter 54 to explain that. >> No, Luke is is going to read that for me. First Peter 5:4. >> And when the chief shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away. >> So rapture. >> Yeah. >> So if you look, if you put both together, Yeah. >> Let's put them put them together. >> Second Timothy 4:8. >> I heard it. 1 Peter 5:4. >> So Paul talks about on that day he'll he'll receive a crown. >> Read that. >> Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness which the Lord the righteous judge shall give me at that day. >> And that day is the day of his appearing. It says in first Peter 5:4. One more time, Lucas. >> And when the chief shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away. >> So appear the shepherd to the sheep. >> Yeah. >> Mhm. Because when the chief shepherd will appear, meaning the sheep will be there to receive the shepherd, then we're going to receive a reward. >> Reward. >> A crown. >> Crown. Yes. >> Exactly. >> That day. >> Exactly. >> Wow. >> So, so now, so here we see more of this amazing reasons why the Lord will return. >> Or or let's look at 2 Thessalonians 1 verse 10. >> Mhm. THIS IS SO WONDERFUL. OH, THIS is when you come down. >> I'm so sorry, pastor. You take me by such surprise. You take me by such surprise. >> Let's Let's look at 2 Thessalonians 1:10. This is really beautiful. >> When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, ah >> and to be admired in all them that believe. >> So that is rapture again. >> Yes. So in 2 Thessalonians 1:10, he will come to be glorified in the saints >> and to be admired. Or the Lord will be marveled. >> Yeah, >> we're going to be so taken by his beauty. >> You know it >> in them that believe. >> What a day that will be, precious saints. Oh, what a day. The beauty of Jesus cannot be described in any way humanly possible. Yeah, >> there's no way to describe him in in our in our own way. Someone asked Castle Kumman years ago if she had a picture of Jesus in her home and she said no. She said he's too beautiful for any artist to paint. >> You know, [sighs] I don't think there's any words. There's no artist that can there's no way you can describe it. No artist can paint the beauty of Allah. >> Yeah. >> He's all together love. >> Yeah. >> And that's why in this amazing verse we are going to >> Yeah. >> marvel. >> Yeah. >> at at We're going to be amazed. >> Yeah. >> Beyond amazed. You know the song I said amazed in the presence of Jesus at the >> the [snorts] Nazarene. >> Yeah. >> It's it's it's going to be way beyond beyond that. >> Yeah. Uh can can we look at at uh Matthew 25:E10 and you're going to read for me Lucas Revelation 19 7 8 and nine. Oh this is going to be so beautiful Lord so beautiful. >> Amen. >> Matthew 25:10 >> And while they went to buy the bridegroom came and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage and the door was shut. >> So why is it coming? for the wedding. >> Yes. >> For the bride. This is rapture here again. >> Why is the why is the rapture going to happen? And and I know I'm going back and forth from, you know, the the the return, the phase one, phase two, but I think it's it's good for us to go back and forth so you can see the difference. >> Yeah. >> But why? He wants his bride with him. >> Yeah. And then then then you you read Revelation 19 verse 7- 9 and it says what? >> Let us be glad and rejoice and give honor to him. For the marriage of the Lamb is come and his wife hath made herself ready. >> And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white. For the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. and he saith unto me, write, blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the lamb. >> Now, can we can we go to Ephesians 5 quick and read verse [snorts] 23 through 32 there? It's so powerful that the Lord is coming to be united in marriage with his bride, the church. >> And to celebrate the marriage supper. Mhm. >> So in Ephesians 5 beginning at verse 23, it says, >> "For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church, and he is the savior of the body. Therefore, as the church is subject unto Christ." >> No, no, keep keep going right to verse 32. >> So let the wives be to their own husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church and gave himself for it, that he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word. >> That's that's precious, but keep keep going. >> That he might present it to himself a glorious church, [snorts] not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but it should be holy and without blemish. >> Keep going to verse 32. So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. For no man ever yet hated his own flesh, but nourisheth it and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church. For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. This is a great mystery. But I speak concerning Christ and the church. >> The whole reason he was describing marriage >> Yeah. >> is Christ and the church. >> Yeah. >> Marriage is only a a human example. >> Yeah. >> Christ >> of the church being united to her Lord on that glorious day. >> Yes. >> And that how he is loving her at this time, cleansing her at this time, preparing her >> for that glorious day. You know, I I I just brought a teaching few days ago. The entire reason for creation is to create a habitation for humanity called Earth. >> So all the universe, all the planets, everything around is for one little planet to be the the the place that people can live in. The whole reason for this habitation called earth is that God would find a wife. >> Yeah. >> For his son. >> Meaning the church is the reason for all creation. >> Wow. >> The church is the reason for all creation. >> All of it. >> So that's the real beauty. And now we come to this climax. this beautiful glorious verse 32. >> That's it. >> It's all about Christ Church, >> right? >> And when you read Ephesians that God will give him power over all power, all dominions, all authority and so on to be head of the church which is the fullness of him. >> Yeah. >> The fullness of him. >> The church is the fullness of Jesus who fills all in all. I don't think we have any idea yet what that means to God. >> Yeah. >> What we mean to God, we have no idea. >> Wow. Wow. >> What it what we mean to him is beyond our comprehension. >> Yes. Yeah. >> Cuz it says to be glorified in the saints. We just read it earlier. >> He comes to be glorified in the saints. >> Yeah. >> Glorified in the saints. >> In the saints. >> In not to in the saints. We will share his glory. I will that they whom thou has given me be with me what I am that they may be behold my glory and the glory you've given me I've given to them that they may be one even as we are mindboggling. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Let's go let let's go to to uh uh some other scriptures here that's just so powerful. >> Amen. Uh let's let's look at Luke uh chapter chapter 19 verse 12 uh through 15 please. He said therefore a certain noble man went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom and to return. And he called his 10 servants and delivered them 10 pounds and said unto them occupy till I come. But his citizens hated him and sent a message after him saying, >> "Uhhuh." His citizens hated him and sent a message that said >> after him, saying, "We will not have this man to reign over us." >> Who is that? >> That's the Jewish people when he came the first time. >> Oh yes. >> They said, "We don't want him reigning over us." >> Yeah. We won't have it. >> Keep going. >> And it came to pass that when he was returned, having >> It came to pass when he returned, >> returned having received the kingdom. Having received the kingdom, >> then he commanded these servants to be called unto him. >> So in the second visible return, when the Lord returns, he will come to deal with the Jewish people >> who rejected him. >> Wow. >> Yeah. That's why they will mourn. It says in Zechariah, for their only son, when they recognized, we rejected the Messiah. >> Wow. >> Didn't recognize him. He came unto his own. his own received him not. >> That's what that is. >> Yeah. >> See that? >> I now I do. >> That's why I wanted to read that. >> So he will call his servants >> Yeah. >> and deal with them. >> I see. >> For their rejection. Read that verse 15 again. And it came to pass that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money. >> That's it. >> That he might know how much every man had gained. >> That's it. >> Look at Revelation 11:15. [sighs] >> Wow. And the seventh angel sounded, and there were great voices in heaven, saying, "The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord and of his Christ, and he shall reign forever and ever." >> Yeah. So, he's coming to deal with his people and the world >> that rejected him >> to to to reveal who he is. Mhm. >> There's an amazing scripture in Zechariah 13. Uh we're going to read beginning verse 6 through verse 9 and then we're going to probably stop with that. Go ahead. >> Yeah, Lucas. >> And one shall say unto him, what are these wounds in thine hands? Then he shall answer those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends. Awake, oh sword, against my shepherd, and against the man that is my fellows, sayaeth the Lord of Hosts. Smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered, and I will turn mine hand upon the little ones. And it shall come to pass that in all the land, sayaeth the Lord, two parts therein shall be cut off and die, but the third shall be left therein. >> That is, keep keep going. And verse verse n and I will bring the third part through the fire and will refine them as silver is refined and will try them as gold is tried. They shall call on my name and I will hear them. I will say it is my people and they shall say the Lord is my God. >> So only a third >> Yeah. >> of the Jewish people will be accepted as Jews >> as Jews >> by the Lord. >> It's very very important. >> Yes. Now, let's look at something else too to do with Israel, and that is Zechariah 14, verse 1- verse4. I'm going to have you read, Pastor Dan, because I think there's so much more in here about his visible return when it comes to Israel. >> Yeah. So it says in Zechariah 14 verse14 behold the day of the Lord cometh and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee. For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle. >> Okay? >> And the city shall be taken and the houses rifled and the women ravished and half of the city shall go forth into captivity and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city. Then shall the Lord go forth and fight against those nations as when he fought in the day of battle. >> So he's also returning to deliver Israel from their enemies once and for all. >> So he will come first and purify >> the nation. Mhm. >> Then after purifying the nation according to Zechariah 13, we just read it. >> Mhm. >> That only one-third will be accepted. >> Yes. Right. >> Yeah. Then he will deliver them from their enemies completely. >> Wow. >> So finish up. Then shall the Lord go forth and fight against those nations as when he fought in the day of battle. and his feet shall stand in that day upon the Mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east. And the Mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west. And there shall be a very great valley. And half of the mountain shall be shall remove toward the >> right up to verse four. That's all. >> Okay. Now, let's let's look at Zechariah 8 and let's look at verse three and then verse seven and 8. all dealing with what God will do with Israel. So, you're going to read verse three, uh, Pastor Dan, >> you're going to read verse 7 and 8, Lucas. >> Yes, sir. >> Zechariah 3. >> Zechariah 8:3. >> Okay. Yes, sir. >> And then Lucas is going to read Zechariah 8 7 and 8. Thus saith the Lord, I am returned unto Zion, and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem, and Jerusalem shall be called a city of truth, and the mountain of the Lord of hosts, the holy mountain. >> Okay. So, the Lord is coming to gather together here, his people. >> Mhm. >> So, first it says in verse three, he will dwell in Jerusalem. >> Yes. >> He's coming to Jerusalem. >> Yes. >> Okay. Read that again. Thus sayeth the Lord, I am returned unto Zion, and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem, and Jerusalem shall be called a city of truth, and the mountain of the Lord. >> City of truth. >> Truth. >> Mhm. >> No more lie. >> Yeah. >> No more enemies in Jerusalem. >> Wow. >> The city of truth. >> Yeah. >> And not only that, but >> the mountain of the Lord of hosts. >> The mountain of the Lord of hosts. Now let's look at verse 7 and and verse 8. >> Thus sayeth the Lord of hosts, behold, I will save my people from the east country and from the west country, >> and I will bring them, and they shall dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. >> So this will be a time of in gathering. >> Yeah. >> The outcasts of Israel from the east and the west. And >> and they shall be my people and I will be their God in truth and and in righteousness. So, he is coming to fulfill what God had promised through the prophets. >> And one more thing before I stop, and there's more that I'll probably share with you later, but Romans 11:26 is powerful, but I'd like you to start with Romans 11, beginning at verse 25. >> 25 >> through 27. >> Okay, Lucas, go ahead. For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits, that blindness in part has happened to Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles be come in. And so all Israel shall be saved, as it is written, there shall come out of Sion the deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob. Well, we just read a part of it already from Zechariah, but there's a whole lot more in Isaiah and other parts of the Old Covenant. So, I believe that what's happening today is preparations >> for that glorious return of the Lord. >> Yes. >> But there's much that will happen between now and then. We have to look at the Bible but take politics out. >> Yes. We have to see it as God's word without the political connection of today. But we've I've given you a lot of information the last >> three programs. Let's stand for the gospel. Let's get the gospel out. Amen. >> Winning the loss for the Lord. That's my heart.
