Three Prophetic Headlines Jesus Said to Look For About the End of Days ((music playing)) Holy, holy, holy, [singing] holy, holy, holy ((music playing)) Lord God ((music playing)) Almighty. As we lift our hearts, As we lift our hearts ((music playing)) before you as a token of ((music playing)) our love. Holy, holy, [singing] holy, holy. ((music playing)) Can we stand and love him? Gracious father, gracious father, we're so blessed to be ((music playing)) your children. We are so blessed to [singing] be your children, gracious ((music playing)) father, as we lift our hearts before you. Yes, ((music playing)) we our [singing] hearts before you as a token ((music playing)) of our love. Gracious father, gracious, precious Jesus, preious Jesus, ((music playing)) [singing] sweetest, precious Jesus. We're so glad you redeemed us. So glad that you've ((music playing)) redeemed us, precious Jesus. ((music playing)) As we lift our hearts, As we ((music playing)) lift our hearts before you as a token ((music playing)) of our love, precious Jesus, ((music playing)) precious Jesus, ((music playing)) Holy Spirit, Holy Spirit, ((music playing)) Holy Spirit, come and fill our hearts a new. Come and fill our hearts a ((music playing)) new. Holy [singing] Spirit, ((music playing)) as we lift our hearts, as we lift our hearts before you as a token ((music playing)) of our love, Holy Spirit, [singing] Holy Spirit, We're going to go together to Luke 2021 and we're going to look beginning at verse 7. And they asked him, saying, "Master, when shall these things be? What sign will there be when these things shall come to pass?" And the writer Luke puts it in a beautiful way differently than Matthew, but Matthew and Luke together I think make a magnificent picture for us. Give us a magnificent picture of the same prophecy. So I see three headlines in verse 8, in verse 9, 10, and 11. And the Lord gives us three headlines to look for. Number one, deception. Take heed that ye be not deceived, for many will come in my name, saying, I'm Christ. And the time drawth not near, go ye not after them. And then he says, "But when you shall hear of wars or commotions, be not terrified, for these things must first come to pass. The end is not bye-bye. Nation will rise against nation, kingdom against kingdom. Great earthquake shall be in nous places, famines, pestilence, fearful sights, great signs shall be there from heaven." Now I want you to focus on the next words of verse 12. But before all these, so stop with that. Are you still awake? >> Okay. So the Lord in verse 8, 9, 10, 11 gives us headlines of things that will happen throughout the ages. So he said, "Now throughout the ages, there'll be deception. Throughout the ages, there'll be wars and then there'll be frightful happenings and on the earthquakes and pestilence and famines and fearful sights and great signs in the heavens. Now these things, these headlines are coming. He says to them, "So we've seen the deception and still seeing it. We we've seen the wars and we're still seeing it. We've seen the earthquakes, the famines. We're still seeing it. The only part we haven't seen yet that we will see is the fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven. These are coming. But but he makes a very interesting point in verse 12. But before all these, before all these means to the apostles of the day, but now here's what you you look for today, 2,000 years ago. He's telling him, "But before all this happens, here's what's going to happen to you apostles, to you disciples of mine who are alive 2,000 years ago and beyond. They shall lay their hands on you and persecute you, meaning Peter, James, John, and the others, delivering you up to the synagogues into prisons, [snorts] being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake. That happened right after the coming of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost. But it shall turn to you for a testimony. Settle it therefore in your hearts not to meditate before what you shall answer. For I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your enemies shall not be able to gain say nor resist. So these things began happening right after Pentecost. And then he said, "And you will be betrayed by parents, by brothers, by king's folks, by friends. Some of you they will cause to be put to death. You shall be hated of all men for for my name's sake." All this has happened already and continues to happen. But he was preparing his church, his church, not the world, his church for what's going to happen to them. But then he said, "There shall not a hair of your head perish. In your patience possess ye your souls." And then he focuses on 70 AD when he says in verse 20, "But when ye shall see," meaning you you'll be alive, some of you disciples, he's talking to the people who are with him. But when he shall see Jerusalem compass with armies, meaning the Romans, this is not future. This already happened. Then know that the desolation thereof is nigh. Meaning Jerusalem will be destroyed, which it was. Then let them which are in Judea flee to the mountains. Let them which are in the midst of it, meaning Jerusalem, depart out, and let not them that are in the countries enter there into, meaning Jerusalem. For these be the days of vengeance that, watch now, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. But woe unto them that are with child, to them that give suck in those days. For there shall be great distress in where? The land. What land? Israel. And upon and wrath upon this people, the Jews. So up to this verse, he's talking to his disciples. So you begin here very clearly. with the words before all these verse 12. They're going to lay hands on you, persecute you, take you to the synagogue, prisons, and so on. And you'll be persecuted and hated, but not a hair of your head will perish and your patience possess your souls. But you're going to see Jerusalem. Now, this is after the ascension of the Lord. happen surrounded with armies then know that the desolation of Jerusalem is nigh and he tells them that this is the time when the wrath will fall upon the people of the land and they verse 24 they the Jews shall fall by the edge of the sword and they did 1.5 million of them were slain by the Romans shall be led away captive into all nations. They were >> for 2,000 years. And Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles. It was until 1967. Let's stop with this. >> Are you learning anything? >> Yes. So now when the Lord made the statement that Jerusalem will be trotten down of the Gentiles, he was talking about 2,000 years of occupation by other powers of the Holy Land and Jerusalem. But then he made a statement. He said something very very powerful. until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled for the city of Jerusalem. June 5th, 1967, the war of the six day war took place started with a lie by the Soviets who lied to the Egyptians and said that Israel is going to attack Syria. Vietnam was going on and the Soviet Union wanted to have influence over the world militarily because of America's weakness with Vietnam and LBJ's mishandling of the situation. So they started a lie and told the Egyptians that Israel is about to attack Syria. Abdul Nasser, who was the president of Egypt, sent his general with a plane to the Syrian border. He saw nothing. And he came back and told Naser, "It's not true." But by the time he had told him, Naser had already been talking on radio. He'd been on radio telling the whole Arab world he'll attack Israel. And the madness and chaos began on the streets of Cairo and Damascus. And the whole Arab world was screaming for the destruction of Israel. And he knew that the news was not true. But how can he stop the crowds from wanting war? And when the head of the United Nation went to see him with his assistant who was from India by the way Nasser told them that he has to go to war otherwise he'll be assassinated. He was caught. He knows now that the Soviets lied to him but the crowds were stirred up. He can't just change his mind now, can he? He makes an agreement with King Hussein, who gives away the authority of Jordan to Egypt. I'll never forget seeing that on TV when King Hussein signed over his military to Nasser of Egypt. Some of you weren't born. I was and the war began June 5th, ' 67. And I was in school at Kesh de Frer and the and the Catholic bonds told us to go home. And I'll never forget running to the house thinking this is the day NASA will attack. And nothing was spoken on radio for days because the great general Mosha Dian made a decision that no news program would be allowed to say a word about the victories of that morning over the Egyptian air force. They were afraid that the UN would force them to stop the war. And for days, nobody knew what was going on. All we knew is the war had started. But I'll never forget the day, as long as I live, when the decision was made to take Jerusalem. The whole nation came alive. And my dad who was not religious at all, Greek Orthodox, you know, I don't ever remember my father talking about the Lord. He was a devout Greek Orthodox. We went to church like anybody else. He walks in the house and we're kids sitting there wondering what's going on. And my father says, "Now Jesus will return." >> We're all stunned. Now Jesus will return was the first time I ever heard my father talk like that because now Jerusalem is in the hands of the Jews. He knew enough about the Bible to know this is the the beginning of the end. And so the Lord said, and it's very interesting history. I hope I'm not boring you. >> No, not at all. >> Very interesting history that the prime minister of Israel at that time, Levie Eshkol, did not want to go into into Jerusalem. It was Manahim Bean who convinced him. Began was at the King David Hotel and called Escoll on the phone and said, "We cannot miss this moment of history. Future generations will not forgive us." Because Escoll did not want to take the West Bank, did not want Jerusalem. The prime minister of Israel at the time was a very nice man, but kind of not decisive, not quickly to decide. But Bean was a very forceful man who knew the Bible, a religious man. And began before he died made a statement that his father told him that every person before death should claim the Messiah is coming and how his father when he died spoke the words the Messiah we wait for the Messiah and he himself said so before he died. So he was looking for the coming of the Messiah and he understood prophecy from the Old Testament. I sat with Shimon Perez who became the president of Israel years later did two programs with him and I asked him I said Mr. President you worked with Benurion who was the first prime minister of Israel. I said, "Did he know he was fulfilling prophecy?" Oh, absolutely. He said, he said, "Bengura knew the prophets and read the prophets and knew he was fulfilling God's word. I was stunned." When Rabin was prime minister, a month before he died, I met with him because I took so many tourists to the Holy Land. 65,000 people came with me at in a few years and they wanted to honor me and the prime minister gave me a beautiful gift. I still have it and I got to talk to him the next day and his staff says to me on the way and don't ask him a question about the Bible, don't talk to him about anything religious. I said leave me alone. My first question to it, do you Mr. promise to believe the prophets? He said, "Yes, I do." I said, "You believe what God's word says about this nation?" "Yes, I do." He does. He did. The only man that told me no was the mayor of Jerusalem. Never forget that moment with him. The mayor of Jerusalem at that time was a very feisty man back in those years. I said, "Do you believe God had anything to do with the land?" "No, I don't believe it." He's the only one who said that. I didn't really care that he said that. He just showed me that he didn't believe anything in the Bible. But today something is happening in Israel. People are coming to the Lord. >> And and people of God, we're going to see what Jesus said right here. Now if you look at verse 24 there is a between verse 24 and 25 are many years of history because right after we read the words and Jerusalem shall be trotted down of the Gentiles until the times of dead of the Gentiles be fulfilled which happened in 67. Now we read verse 25. And there shall be signs in the sun, in the moon, in the stars, upon the earth, distress of nations with perplexity. And we are about to enter into verse 25, the sea and the waves roaring, man's hearts failing him for fear, for looking after those things which are coming on the earth. For the powers of heaven shall be shaken, and then shall they see the son of man coming in the clouds with power and great glory. So the Lord now beginning at verse 25 is talking about the future. And then he said when these things begin to come to pass, what things? The things of verse 25 and on look up, lift up your heads, your redemption draws an eye. But he but he also tells us when this will all start. And I'm almost done here, so stay with me. He said the fig tree and all the trees. Gave a parable about the fig tree, which is Israel. All the trees are the Arab nations that came into existence after the first war and the second world war. It says when they now shoot forth, you see and know of your own selves that summer is now at hand. It was after the second world war that the majority of this was fulfilled. Likewise, when you see these things come to pass, know that the kingdom of God is nigh. And then he said, this generation, which generation, the generation that will see the formation of the fig tree and all the trees around that fig tree are the nations of the Arab world that came into being when the British and the French divided the Middle East. But then he gave us a warning after saying heaven and earth will not pass away but my words heaven and and earth shall pass away but my words shall not pass away. Take heed to yourselves and this is a warning for all of us. Lest any please hear this. Take heed to yourself, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfing, which means carousing or going to parties and getting drunk and drunkenness and cares of this life, so that the day come upon you unaware as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell upon the face of the earth. This is the rapture of the church. Watch ye therefore and pray always that you may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass and to stand before the son of man. Now we are almost there. >> Almost there. Now saints, I want you to hear my heart. I brought you together today to please beg you if I need to. The time has come for you to put everything that is unimportant aside and focus on finishing better than when you began. because our time ((applause)) is getting shorter by the day. >> Now, here's the answer. The answer is get to know the Lord through his word. >> And we with open face, meaning we're not veiled like the Old Testament people, beholding as in a glass the mirror, the Bible, the glory of the Lord. are changed into the same image from glory to glory. When you read the word of God, the entire word of God, and you begin putting together that beautiful revelation of Jesus and see it so clearly because you are beholding him through his word. You're looking for him through his word through every chapter. Yesterday I'm reading how God spoke to Abraham and said, "Take now thy son, thine only son, to Moriah, and offer him therefore a sacrifice." I was stunned by one thing. Abraham did not argue. Abraham did not say a word. He obeyed. But here's what amazed me also. When his son Isaac is walking with him, at that time most likely he was in his 20s and his father puts him on an altar, ties him up. No resistance. Not one time. And [clears throat] you see the faith of God in those two men. And Paul later says that Abraham believed that God would raise him from the dead. And I began praying and weeping. Lord, I want to know you like this. >> And there you see a revelation of the Lord himself in the life of Abraham and Isaac. the gentleness of Jesus throughout that story as a lamb to the slaughter. I will never forget my dad one time in all our life. I remember this at Passover or Easter time. My father went to the market and brought a lamb, a little lamb. I'll never forget that. And that lamb was so beautiful to look at. a little animal in his arms. Just beautiful little animal. And my father took a knife, pastor. And that lamb did not even move a muscle. He just laid peacefully in my dad's arms and [clears throat] died. Just died. I wasn't even saved back then. And I remember that. And every time I read Isaiah as a lamb to the slaughter, I remember my father taking that lamb. And Jesus went to the cross. No resistance, no arguments, no fighting. He just went as a lamb to the slaughter. What a Lord. What a God. And today we all have a an amazing opportunity to preach the gospel for the first time in places that were closed at one time. Think about what God is doing with me today in Africa, other parts of the world. I'm going to Brazil next week. Three cities and then afterwards again to Ecuador and after that straight after that literally to the Ivory Coast and Ghana. Oh, I only have days be between each one. And everywhere I go, the people are just so open. In Argentina, a place called Resistencia, the largest church building, the largest church building seat, 17,17, packed with young people >> on fire. You see the hunger. >> You see the the incredible fire of God in these young people ready to win the world. This is our time. >> But here's what we lack in America. We lack the knowledge of Jesus in and through his word. Because there's more. The Bible talks about the uncarchable riches of Christ. You're not going to find them without the scriptures. >> You have to read Genesis looking for the Lord and read Exodus looking for the Lord. You have to read Leviticus and look for him in every sacrifice. Ask God to open your eyes. >> Amen. >> Numbers and Deuteronomy. Look for him. He's there. >> Yes. Look for him in the historical books. He's there. Look for him in the prophets. He's so clearly there powerfully. Like I just showed you some of these scriptures described so powerfully in Micah 5, in Isaiah 9, in Isaiah 42 and 50 and 52 and 53 and 54 and 55. He's not just in 53. He's all over Isaiah. All over Isaiah. Look at Isaiah 11. He's in Jeremiah. He's in Ezekiel and Daniel. He's in Hosea. He's in Amos. He's in Malachi. He's everywhere. You find him. You find him. What I like to do is I like to color. Everywhere I see Jesus, I color in green. There is. There is. There is. My Bible is full of green everywhere on my iPad. If you look at it, there's green everywhere. I see the Lord there. It changes you. You no longer are interested in Adam and Noah. As much as it's important, you're looking for the Lord. How many times can you read about Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob? You're looking for the Lord. And you're looking for details. Details. Why? Because they're important to us. Because these details make the picture fuller fuller. Abraham died at 175 years old. Isaac met Rebecca when he was 40, had his children when he was 60. But when Esau was 40, which means Isaac was 100, it's when he married. And that's the same time Jacob went to find Leah and Rachel. Isaac was 100 years old. And Isaac speaks to his son when he's a hund. He can't even see the man and prophesies about the Messiah. He prays and God give you the blessings of Abraham and the parents of Rebecca. May you possess the gates of your enemies. The same promise God gave Abraham. Who's going to possess the gates but Jesus? Who's going to bring the blessings of Abraham by Jesus? He's all over. And here's the Isaac, 100 years old, prophesying Christ over his son Jacob. And his son now goes to Bethl. And who shows up but the Lord. Who speaks but the Lord. Who leads him? But the Lord. Jesus said something amazing before Abraham was I am. Abraham saw my day and rejoiced. When did he see his day? In Genesis 18 and before and after he saw the cross when his son said, "What is the lamb?" The Lord will provide himself a lamb. Moses saw the Lord. It says so in Hebrews. Who forsook the pleasures of Egypt having seen Jesus. They all saw the Lord. Why are we so blind? That we can't see him because we're not spending the time looking for him. We read our Bible just because we're guilty. No. We read it because we're hungry. >> Amen. >> Amen. >> If you read the Bible because you're guilty, you'll never see the Lord. >> God isn't interested in your guilt. He wants your hunger. >> Sometimes people pray because they're guilty. Really? Because I'm guilty. I feel better if I No, no, no, no. Are you hungry? >> You open those precious pages because of hunger. Pastors, please, one last thing. We are we are losing our young people to social media because we're not giving them the word of God. We're not teaching them the scriptures and we're afraid to speak the truth because we don't want to offend them. No, let's offend them. >> Yes. Come on. >> We need to speak and teach the word as it declares. >> We have to. We have no choice. >> The Bible must be taught as it is. >> A young man told me, a young man came up to me and said, "I don't believe that God is angry. I don't believe that God cuz I had made the statement that God's wrath is as perfect as his love and he don't want to accept that because in his mind God is a gentle grandpa. That's not the the God of the Bible. No one talks about the fear of the Lord. We're not talking about being afraid. We're the fear of the Lord is when you stand in awe of the Lord. We stand in awe of him. What What is the fear of the Lord? Reverence. Reverence. We stand in awe. We sing the song, I stand in all of you and don't mean a word. He is God Almighty. Okay. On Sunday, I'm going to teach you and minister and lay hands on many of you and all that. Tonight, I got to get through to you cuz if you don't do it, I I'm I'm telling you right now, I remember what Or Robert said so long ago. God's power is passing to you or by you. >> It's coming towards you or passing by you. Take it >> when it comes to you. Receive it. >> Don't let it pass by. It'll never come that way again. >> Are you listening? >> The anointing of God will come to you or pass right by you. That woman with issue of blood understood that >> when she got out of her bed and knew Jesus is passing by my door. This is my moment. I will not let him go by. I'm going to take the hem of his garment, touch the hem of his garment and received. When Kathern Kumman on that amazing day in December began to talk about the Holy Spirit, I cried out, I want to know you, Lord like like this and I touched the hem and I received it and that's why I'm here. >> We cannot ignore the moment we are in. ((applause)) Will you promise me tonight? I know I, you know, I I said things some of you maybe weren't interested to hear. Maybe you don't even understand it. I just want to show you the importance of how close we are to the coming of the Lord. >> Because it says, knowing you purify yourselves as you pure. That's what Peter said. Seeing these things, you purify yourself. I know some people don't believe in the rapture, but when you start believing in the in the rapture, you take the fire out because when you know he's coming at any moment, you stay ready. >> Amen. >> Listen, Jesus said, "At such an hour as ye know not, >> when the world starts falling apart, they'll be looking up. I promise you. M >> but nobody looks up when it's all just normal stuff. And Jesus said it'll be like the days of Noah. >> They'll be marrying, giving in marriage, having parties, going to work, and suddenly it's over. >> The rapture keeps us on fire. >> It could happen today. It could happen tomorrow. It could happen the day after. And Abraham said to the Lord quite clearly, "You are the you you're the righteous judge. Will the judge of the whole earth not do right? You you will not judge the wicked and the righteous together." And the angel made a very profound statement to Lot. He said, "I can do nothing till you go till you are out." In Genesis 8 chapter 19, I'll do nothing till you're gone. Did God judge his people in Gan at the same time with Egypt? No. He protected his people, Israel, while Egypt was being destroyed. God is not unjust to punish the righteous and the wicked together. It's quite clear we're we are not appointed unto wrath. So you promise, right? >> Lift your hand. Say, "Father, I promise." >> Father, >> I will read your word. >> I will read your word. >> From Genesis to Revelation, >> Genesis to Revelation. >> Every day. >> Every day. >> Oh, blessed Holy Spirit. >> Blessed Holy Spirit. >> Inflame me. explain >> with hunger >> with hunger >> for your word. >> Let your fire >> Let your fire >> burn deeply >> deeply >> in my soul for your word. >> In Jesus name. In Jesus name. Amen. These are the last days. If you are a Christian, you must stay alert.
