The Powerful Impact of God’s Word When You Read It Daily Thank you, pastor. I love this man. And dear Jesus, we love you. And to you belongs the glory. And we mean it with all our hearts. We mean it with all our hearts. And so today I pray again, bend our hearts towards you. Bend us towards you. Our promise is always to give you the glory. You said you'll never share it with anyone. We will give you the glory. Only you deserve it. It belongs only to you, Lord, no one else. Your God Almighty. We are dust. You remember our frame. You know we're dust. Yet you've chosen us. You've set your heart on us to be your children. That is amazing love. That is amazing grace. to you by the grace. And dear Jesus, we ask you, don't let the world get into our hearts. Don't let the pollution of the world get into our hearts. Like David, we say, "Let not sin have dominion over me. Count us not among the sinners, but among the righteous. And on that day when we stand before you, Lord, that we'll see your favor, be accepted in your sight. You're able. You're able to keep us from falling and to present us before your throne without blame. Only you can do it. and to you belongs all the praise. Now lift your hands and thank him saints. Thank him for salvation. Where would we be without the work of Calvary? Thank him for the blood that he shed on the cross. Thank him for suffering for you. Thank him for becoming your substitute on Calvar's cross. Glory to God and glory. Glory. Glory to the lamb. >> For your glorious You are worthy. You're the lamb upon the throne. >> Unto you, wonderful Jesus. >> To you. We lift our voice. >> We lift our voice in praise. No, the lamb upon the Lift your hands to heaven. Glory. Glory. Glory to you. will be praising the lamb. Glory, glory to glory to the lamb. For you glorious, >> for you are the Lord and to be praised. the land of upon earthless road to you. We lift our voice in praise your love of all the earth for your glorious for you are glorious and worthy to be praised. You let up from the throne and to you. We lift our voice. Earth for you are glorious and worthy to be praised. You lamb upon the throne. And to you we lift our voice in praise. Now say father in Jesus name open my eyes that I might see and understand your precious word in Jesus name. Amen. >> You may be seated. Tonight, I'm going to take you through scripture. And this is deeper than normal because I believe it's time we stop drinking milk. And I hope and I pray the Lord will use this to enlighten you and to stir your hearts for him. and to place within you new fire. I don't think most of you will miss it. I think some of you will because to be honest with you, I I I think some in the church today are not where they're supposed to be spiritually. There's a lot of immaturity in the church. People do not really want to know what the Bible really teaches and they're really missing out. They're in danger of really harming their own spiritual life. Now, let me let me just begin by saying a few things to you. You were not born into this life to know your parents. No, nobody was born into this life to know mommy and daddy or even or even family. You were born into this life to meet the Lord? Because if you don't meet the Lord in this life, why are you here? What's the reason for it? To just get up in the morning and work and work very hard so you can live and then die. Is this really life? Of course not. So those who are alive are really not alive. The only ones who are alive are those in Jesus. So when you talk about life, there is no definition of life in the natural. There is no definition of life in the natural. So they say human life, there's no such thing. It's a living man or a living woman or a living person. Or they say animal life. No such thing. It's a living animal. Or they say plant life. No such thing as a plant life. It's a living plant. Yes. Because life is a person, >> right? >> Amen. >> He said, "I am the way. I am the truth. I am the life." >> Uhhuh. So life is a person. So those who are walking around you are the living dead. If they're not saved, they're the living dead. The minute a baby is born, he begins to die. The whole world from birth is going in reverse. The entire world goes from life to death. A baby goes from life to death. Humanity goes from strength to weakness. They go from health to sickness. Why? Because the whole world is going in reverse. They're like driving a car looking through the rear view mirror. The second you're saved, you start going forward. Now you go from darkness to light. You go from death to life. You go from weakness to strength and so on. So when you receive Jesus, you receive his life. Then you really become one with him. And you can say I have life. But you have his life. It's his life. In him was life. John says. So we we we we we have to clear this up. Without Jesus, what's there's no reason to live. None whatsoever. So, okay, somebody's born, they grow up, they discover the world, they have to make a living, and they make and they work very, very hard to make a living. Some don't make a living at all. They live on the streets and then they're dead. No point, huh? Jesus came to this world to give us a meaning. Why are we here? So your mom one day will be gone. Your dad will be gone. Your brothers and sisters will be gone. And the day will come in the natural. In the natural you will be alone. You will be alone. So a lot of people today in some hospital in some old folks home who are alone. Their families don't know what to do with them. Some have lost their memories. Some have lost their ability to even function properly. Some are too medicated to think right. Some are too old to know where they are or who they are. They're alone. But you who are believers, you're never alone. But only only if you're walking with him. You can say all you want that Jesus is with you. Really? How do you know he's with you? You only know it if his presence is there. If you're really living the life, you you you cannot play games with God. You know, um the word of God is clear. By their fruits, you'll know them. Not by their gifts, by the fruit. And fruit is growth. Where there's growth, there's fruit. So give it time to show up. Fruit takes time. You you you just don't know somebody with one meeting. Give that man time to prove that he is living the life he is a Christian. Fruit, growth, time, a gift you can tell right away. A fruit you cannot tell right away. Oh, you say a miracle, somebody getting healed. Does that mean that the man who is who is ministering is walking with God? Not at all. Gifts do not prove Jesus is there. Balam had a gift. He also had a devil. Read it there in numbers 21 right through 24. There was a man named Balum. He was gifted to bless people and curse people and it actually worked. But in chapter 24, it makes it very clear he was involved in witchcraft. Did he really walk with God? Of course not. He was just gifted. Judas was gifted, wasn't he? Yet he betrayed the Lord. He had gifts. He was one of the people who went out and prayed for the sick. Of course. How about Saul? Of course, he was gifted. But he he had a devil. >> Yes, he did. >> No. Wake up. Wake up to reality. Huh? By the fruits, you'll know them. Fruit is longevity. Fruit is longevity. How long will they last in ministry? How long have they been doing what they're doing? They're still doing it. Longevity. Evangelists come, evangelists go. They're gifted. Where are they today? Who knows? So, what will keep you? Scripture and only the word of God. Yeah. And I pray tonight, God will just give you that deep desire for knowing him. >> And the only way you're going to know him is through his word. >> Through what? You're not going to know him by singing songs or listening to a worship tape and singing along. Through his word. Through what? >> His word. one more time. >> Thank you. And when you know him through his word, he'll change your life. So tonight, I'm going to get straight in the scriptures, but I wanted to have a little talk with you about the importance of you knowing it and reading it every day. Lift your hands and say, "Lord, help me do it. >> I want to know you. deeply through your word. Amen. So today I'm going to begin by saying a few things about the book of Acts and then we're going to go from there to Hebrews. It's very amazing to me when you read the book of Acts. You will not find one prayer written in the book of Acts. It said they prayed. It tells us what they prayed. But not one individual, not one apostle, not Peter, not James, not John wrote their prayer in the book of Acts. The only place you'll find prayers written are by Paul the Apostle in his epistles. That to me is very eyeopening. Now we know the apostles prayed, of course. It says, "But they prayed. They prayed. Of course they did. But we don't have any record of Peter writing a prayer in the book of acts. If you look at the whole book of acts, you'll not find one apostle writing one prayer in it. Now when you when you come to the life of Paul, what was the first thing Jesus said about him to Ananas? Well, he said, "Of course, now you go to the road straight." But what did he say after that? Behold, he prayth. He acknowledged Paul as a man of prayer. That's quite uh important for all of us. He prayth. He didn't say he's sleeping. He said you go and lands on him. He's pray. That's big news in heaven. So you think about the fact that in 2 Corinthians 12 Paul went to heaven. Why? It doesn't say. We also know that John the apostle went to heaven in revelation. But we do know why he went to heaven to receive the revelation. The book itself we call revelation was given to him in Patmas in Greece. I've been to that very cave myself. But we don't know why Paul went to heaven. All we know is he did. Now that's also quite revealing. Well, a few things about it. Number one, he doesn't say much about what he saw or heard. In fact, he could not talk about it. But I think it has something to do with his prayer life, don't you? That maybe his prayer life was so special to God it opened heaven for him. Possible. I'm not saying it did. I'm just letting you think with me. A few weeks ago, something happened to me as I'm reading one of the prayers in Ephesians. And when I made it my prayer, it began changing my heart. I remember Ruth Graham years ago, Billy Graham's wife, stating that she would put her name in the Bible when it applied to her or where she felt God was talking to her, she put her name. I forgot about that till a few weeks ago. And suddenly I thought, you know, I wonder this just happened to me. I wonder if I will maybe just begin to forget when I read Romans and Corinthians and Galatians and so on that I would forget from now on he was writing to them and let it be that he's writing to me and I did and it began transforming me immediately >> because a lot of what he said to them I need. We all need maybe not every verse, but a lot in there belongs to us. He's writing to you and me. >> So, you put yourself in that place to receive as though he's writing straight to you. I'm going to encourage you from now on when you open your New Testament Bible because it's all in the New Testament. What Paul's prayers are there, there's prayers of course in the Old Covenant, too, when Daniel prayed and Moses prayed for the people of Israel. But think about Paul praying for the church in Ephesians. Now, we're not going to take the time today to read every prayer because it'll take quite a while because I want to get into something important to you and with you in Hebrews. I want to focus on two verses in Hebrews 13, which is a prayer, a powerful prayer that Paul, I believe Paul wrote Hebrews. That's why I say Paul. I could be wrong. I could be wrong. It could be, you know, Apollos. It could be Barnabas who wrote the book of Hebrews. Nobody seems to know. A lot of people believe, I'm one of them, that it is probably Paul for a number of reasons. A number of reasons. I'll share some of them with you tonight. But I want you to to ask the Lord today as I begin ministering on Hebrews 13 that God will open your hearts to receive because that prayer is so lifechanging. There's so much in it. But from here on, begin to put yourself in the Bible. >> Tomorrow, Pastor Benny continues this life-changing message. Be sure to tune in. You won't want to miss it. These are the last days.
